Handy compact size which is easy to carry round excellent for bird watching and star gazing. Very well made and exactly as described.

Brought on impulse to watch the birds in the back garden, went on recommendations from reviews, have nothing to compare with but seems good quality and sturdy.

Fits well in the hand. The strap gives a very secure hold and allows adjustment of focus with one hand while viewing. Magnification is better than I hoped and is comparable with a small telescope. A stand is required unless you have very steady hands or something to lean on, but a cheap monopod will suffice. I haven’t tried the phone attachment yet but it seems solid and easy to use.
The quality of the viewing is very good. I find the adjustable eyepiece function is really handy. It is light but feels solid and well made and would not be a chore to carry around or take on holiday.

Especially useful for close range garden bird feeder, Will definitely focus down to 5 feet or 150cm. My tip is to find an old mobile phone and keep attached to avoid removing phone when you get a call! Just can’t fault this product.

The monocular met my expectations. Nice to hold and the strap on it is useful allowing easy adjustment with the finger. I Have only looked at the squirrels and birds in the tree in my garden. The phone attachment is amazing and although a bit flimsy is a bonus.

I’ve had my new Monocular for two weeks now and I’m very happy with them. The 12×55 magnification is correct. So many cheap binoculars or monocular. Claim to be something there not. But you get what you pay with this product. Good Quality and true magnification.

I bought this after sending back a cheaper scope which just didn’t cut the mustard. This has a real solid feel to it and works very well. It comes with a phone adapter which is of good quality and a hand strap. There’s no mini tripod with it or lanyard but the ample carrying case can attach to your belt.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTook this to Appenzell for a mountain hike, as well as Obwalden. Seems robust enough and it’s light weight. We were observing some mountain goats on a ridge across from where we were, and the mobile phone accessory for taking photos was a nice touch, just don’t expect crystal clear images.

Attached photo taken with Gosky attached to Samsung Galaxy S10, using zoom lens. Normally use for bird watching etc and find image clear with excellent field of view. Highly recommend for the money. The ability to also play with your mobile camera and capture photos and video is a bonus.

Really liked this. The product has excellent scope. The phone attachement is also easy to setup. Attache your phone to mount first, check the camera view and then mount on the scope. Takes a couple of minutes.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersIve been enjoying watching the birds in the garden but wanted to see more detail. Due to vision issues binoculars were not a consideration, a telescope not quite the answer, a spotting scope too big to leave near the window so I investigated monoculars. This was by no means the cheapest but the visual quality is excellent and focusing is very easy. Additionally it comes with a hand strap and a mount that enables you to put your mobile in front of the eyepiece and take long distance photos. If using the mobile mount I would strongly suggest using a tripod, (there is a screw hole for a tripod,) because of the added and off centre weight but it is a fun option and worth trying. I’m very pleased with my purchase and would be happy to recommend this monocular.

I love the ease of of use of the monocular. They are so much easier for me to use than binoculars. I use them for bird spotting and I also use them to look at the moon. They have an adjustable eyepiece so that they can be used with or without glasses. Another good feature is the phone support so that I can take photos of garden birds. Focusing is easy with a well positioned focus wheel. To be honest the monocular suits me very well with no apparent downside. Thankyou Gosky!

The scope arrived promptly and I am very impressed by the quality of it.
I have given 4 stars to the ‘Lightweight’ option as it is heavy when just holding it in your hand.
However, if you add the hand strap that came with it, it holds it securely in your hand – For extended use, I would suggest a monopod or tripod.

This is the best bit of kit I’ve ever had. Having this monocular is far better than fidgeting to adjust both the right and left eye views on binoculars. If you look at my three photos taken from the top of the Eiffel Tower, my target is the Arc de Triomph. The first photo is normal view from just my smartphone (it’s lost in the middle of the other buildings in the distance); the second is the Arc de Triomph through the monocular at its normal x12 magnification with my smartphone attached; and the third is x12 magnification plus my smartphone at full zoom – you can see workers on the top part of the monument. Absolutely brilliant and easily portable.

    Brilliant device!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a very clear bright scope it sits very well in the hand with a very smooth focus wheel. the construction is very good in deed, it comes with two lens covers which are tethered to the scope to prevent loss but they can both be removed if required. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the object lens is only 50mm so it is a 10 x 50 scope I don’t know why they call it a 10 x 55 unless they are measuring the lens out of its housing, this is naughty. In fact the object lens is exactly the same size as my 10 x 50 binoculars. This aside I really like this monocular.

This does exactly what it says on the tin. It fits in the hip pocket of my smock nicely. Great optics and takes pictures of the trig points on the hills around me that can’t be seen with the naked eye. The phone adapter fits my iPhone XR complete with Survivor hard case (just). No inter-ocular tweaking needed as with binoculars. I’m loving it.

Ok a couple of comments, firstly your security needs to allow sign in from more than one device without going through the rigmarole of having to approve a second device every time(got my whole order deleted because of this) . Secondly I was not pleased that the delivery guy who brought the tv tried to put it over the fence and left a great big whole in the box before he decided to ring me. I’ve accepted the tv and also the monocular which was thrown over the fence and hopefully they work ok. I also bought a tent which I can’t believe was packed so badly by the manufacturer. It took me ages straighten out. Speed of delivery and customer service excellent, need better QC I think.

I use this for casual bird watching, especially in the garden, if it is not convenient to carry binoculars around. Image is clear; the focus knob has just right the amount of resistance to enable me to focus with the same hand that I am using to hold the monocular. I have not tried to use it with a Smartphone – I am not interested in photography, only watching.

An excellent piece of kit. It has a quality look and feel and provides good magnification. My only criticism is that although the storage bag is intended I presume, to be worn on the belt, it would have helped if a strap was provided. It would also have helped if the storage bag would have been big enough to carry the phone holder. I have had to retrace my steps more than once in order to retrieve the phone holder.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis monocular is of very good quality and robust. I ordered two different monoculars at the same time and found the Gosky a little larger than another we have so my wife finds that the smaller one is better for her. Also the other one was 50 and although not quite as good, there isn’t much difference for the differing price. It really depends what you need it for. I use it for watching birds in my garden and in woodland area’s. I suppose it will depend on how both fare over the next few years. Despite this I would recommend this item although I believe that, depending on YOUR use, there are cheaper.

I wanted an easy to carry optic that I could use to identify wildlife. So out on a walk yesterday for example – small birds on a tree that could have been anything became Reed Buntings through the monocular and a larger bird a filed away resolved as a Magpie. Now I am not missing out on resolving a Cormorant from a Shag at a distance and if you have a large pocket on your anorak it sits in there no problem. I wear glasses and find binoculars tricky to use since one eye is much stronger. The monocular has an adjustable eye piece and I can easily sight and focus without having several adjustments for focus.

Lightweight, easy to focus, lets in lots of light. Mars is not perfectly round but it is clearly a red planet. The Pleiades look great, the Sword of Orion stands out. It is nothing serious for me but great fun. Highly recommended for the price.

If using at its maximum focus on telephoto it is worth investing in a tripod to ensure greater stability , we use a small flexible gorilla tripod which is easy to pack when on outdoor treks.

Golden Review Award: 77 From Our UsersSo glad I decided on this bit of kit. I hesitated between this and the more expensive version, but TBH I don’t really see how this can be improved on.
It may only be 12x but the crispness and brightness are amazing. Very portable; fully assembled with both lens caps on and the eye cup already extended for non-glasses users it is exactly 7″ long…just shy of 18cm. As such, it easily fits into the small shoulder pack I use for my 360 camera and extension sticks.
While on the subject of sticks, I’d recommend using this with a monopod rather than a full tripod, unless you intend to set up and pre-focus on a particular spot. It’s pretty wobbly when just hand held, but a monopod will eliminate at least 90% of this and provide a stable enough platform for a decent photo. My experience with a couple of tripods (studio and portable) was that you’d likely loose the shot by the time you got everything just right. Being as compact as this scope is, the pan/tilt head on a tripod gets in the way of your face and has to be used reversed.
When in a subject-rich environment you can carry this already attached to a monopod, drop the legs and be in business in a matter of seconds.
I was a little concerned that my phone wouldn’t fit. I have a Samsung Galaxy M31 with a bank of lenses in the top left corner. I needn’t have worried; the phone holder is very adaptable and fits over the main HDR lens with no problem. I can’t imagine many other people having a problem either. The clamp extends quite a way too for wider phones.
Photos are chimney pots at 20 yds; moving train at 1 mile; offices at 7 miles.

    Fantastic little scope.

Golden Review Award: 67 From Our UsersSo glad I decided on this bit of kit.
This spotting scope is a good value item. It provides a super clear view. You can attach a mobile phone to the eye piece using the included adapter to zoom in and take a photo. I highly recommend using a remote control for your phone when doing this to avoid shake and improve clarity.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersThe focus dial is easy to use. The phone attachment works well. Light weight and I don’t notice it when the pouch is attached to my belt. I expect there are better quality monoculars for bird spotting enthusiast etc but for casual use this is ideal for me. The first photo is take without the monocular, the lighthouse is about half a mile away. The second is with the monocular 1x zoom, then 5x zoom & 10x zoom. These were taken without tripod, with the phone resting on my knee. Photos taken with a Huawei P20 pro.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHave had binoculars in the past, but I always seem to knock them out of alignment. Decided instead to go for a monocular, as it’s lighter, more compact and more robust.
Much easier to take on walks or trips into countryside and optics are great, with focusing nice and easy.
Item arrived quickly and was well-packaged, so am happy with this buy.

Bought for target archery. I can see my arrows easily at 80yrds. Not tried it at 100yrds but I expect it to do the job. Good quality. Clear view

Great monocular telescope, the build quality is superb, I would honestly say that I thought this would be 2 or 3 times the price when you take it out of the box. Really worth having when you go hiking and don’t want to carry a big or bulky pair of binoculars around with you.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersGood product. Pictures taken using the phone attachment with iPhone 11 Pro while holding in the hand. Pretty sure if a tripod is used the image will be lot better with less noise. Bird feeder is about 65 feet (11 fence panels) away. Perfect little kit for casual bird watching. Crystal clear image, Solid build and easy to carry around. Highly recommended!

Neat little kit for birdwatchers !

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our Usersexcellent quality product and quick delivery. I have limited sight in one eye and found binoculars difficult to use. The monocular is ideal, lightweight, robust and viewing quality is excellent.

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersI bought a GoSky 12×55 Monocular to replace a misplaced Bushnell Legend 10×42; and naturally the magnification is significantly better in the former. The GoSky is 70 gm (16% heavier) and the field of view at 1000 yds. is 4% less. I didn’t find either of these factors to be significant. However, the field of view of both these monoculars is only 2/3 that of a 7×50 Binocular; and a disadvantage when bird watching. (A 10×25 Monocular is only 1/2 the field of view of the binocular).
Although the close focus of the Bushnell is claimed to be 6 ft., in practice I found this to be 10 ft. At a genuine 6 ft. the GoSky is significantly better for close range observation.
Reviewers remark on the exceptional optics of the Bushnell; but, in the field, I found it difficult to discern any difference between the two.
As other reveiewers have observed the camera attachment is too flimsy and fiddly to be worth bothering with; and very difficult to focus adequately.
The Bushnell, currently unobtainable in the UK, cost me three times the price (from the US, including VAT, Customs Duty & PO handling charges) than the Gosky.

Golden Review Award: 152 From Our UsersI’m a happy novice Birder on a budget and it was simply the cost that first attracted me to this fine piece of kit.
However, having used it on many birding trips over the past year, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Over the past year, I’ve mingled with far more experienced birders than I, many with very impressive pieces of optical kit, from the likes of Swarovsky and Viking, all of which are very, very expensive and I’ve learned that I made a good choice with my Gosky.

For starters, the 12x magnification is, quite literally, brilliant, thanks to the wide 55mm objective lens. Whilst my contemporaries struggle along with 8x binoculars, my monocular has a far greater reach. I’ve also discovered that, whilst other companies may offer binoculars with 12x magnification, they are seldom associated with a suitable objective lens, or are eye-wateringly expensive…PLUS they weigh a ton!

My monocular is very light-weight, which makes it very easy to hold and this is important when using the full magnification. That said, I’ve never had to fix it to a tripod or hide clamp and, what’s more, it easily fits into my coat pocket.

When I’m out birding, many see what I’m using and express and interest and, on trying mine out, I know of many who have then bought their own. Many of us might struggle with binoculars and for those, a monocular is a great solution.

As an aside, I recently dropped mine from a great height and damaged the focus wheel. Gosky were fully prepared to give me a free replacement, so, again, I cannot recommend them highly enough.
