Good Alternative to Petrol Strimme
Bought the strimmer, hedge trimmer and 3 batteries for my gardening business last month and am delighted with them all. Got a very good deal on the hedge trimmer and one battery in a flash sale on Amazon Primer Day. The strimmer is quite powerful and cuts down over grown weeds and grass easily. As has been said in other reviews, the 2a batteries last about 20 mins which is good enough if only strimming a garden border. Very light and have had no issues with aching arms, shoulders, fingers or vibration in hands which I had with the petrol strimmer. (I’m 64) The batteries charge in an hour which is just enough time for me to get one charged up at lunch ready for the afternoon jobs. When using, just make sure you only use enough power required to strim the grass and not use full power unless necessary and you’ll get maximum time from it. Hedge trimmer seems no different from my Ryobi 18v trimmer I must admit.

The battery provided with Greenworks lawnmower is poor – lasted only 20 minutes, so needed an extra one. Such a better price on Amazon compared to directly buying from Greenworks & lasts longer than the original.

Good product but costly. Especially combined with charger. Main product cannot work without battery and charger. Package should Be clearly advertised as necessary for trimmer/ chainsaw to work as it is not included.

Although these batteries have a good run time it’s a good policy to have a spare that’s fully charged and ready to go when the battery in use runs down. The battery I replaced was three years old, so presumably that’s there life span.

Best battery for your greenworks tools. I do own five. Some tools do drain the battery faster than others, so a chain saw is best used with a 4ah battery than a 2ah.

Ich habe den Akku als Zweitakku fr meinen Duramaxx Mher von Obi gekauft (DD40LM46SP). Im direkten Vergleich zum Obi-Akku wirk dieser etwas hochwertiger in der Optik, allerdings ist das ja eher nebenschlich. Meines Wissens ist Duramaxx ein Lizenzprodukt von Greenworks, prinzipiell sollten die Modelle untereinander also kompatibel sein.
Von der Leistung bin ich bis jetzt sehr zufrieden: knapp 400m2 MIT Radantrieb ist fr einen 4Ah-Akku meiner Meinung nach echt in Ordnung, jetzt muss sich die Langzeitqualitt (Ladeverhslten, Leistungsabgabe, Anzahl der Ladezyklen…) zeigen.
Mit dem normalen Duramaxx-Ladegert bentigt der Akku ca. 3-4h, bis er vollstndig wieder aufgeladen ist, dass sollte man bedenken, bevor man grere Rasenflchen am Stck mhen mchte.
Fazit: funktioniert mit dem Duramaxx-Mher ohne Probleme, leistungsmssig ist der Akku klasse. Mit knapp 140 Euro ist das Teil natrlich relativ teuer (wie es Akkus in dieser Leistungsklasse eben sind), Qualitt, Verarbeitung und Leistung berzeugen aber.

Always opt for this size of battery and don’t try buying generic batteries either. I wish I had just bought two of these instead of trying to be clever. One of these in the tool I’m using and one in the fast charger does the job for me. Got quite a few of their tools so price of the battery is economically viable.

Really wish they were cheaper but great battery. Charges quickly and lasts just long enough to get the job done. I’ve used this in my chainsaw which is brill. Gave me well over 100 cuts and also in my mower which has enough juice in it to do my entire lawn. Easily 100 sq metres. I may measure it and put the actual size up later just so you guys know exactly what it’s capable of. It’s such a pleasure not dragging cables around with me when I’m working in the garden now. That alone is worth the venture into battery operated tools. Good stuff indeed.

There’s usually slightly less than half charge left after cutting my hedges that are 110′ long by 6′ 6″ high and the other 60′ long by 6′ 6″ high. Definitely along laster in use. Also it holds its charge well over several months, seemingly without losing any charge!
I haven’t run the battery anywhere near flat and have only needed to top up the charge which hasn’t been a problem. I think it’s expensive and heavyish in use, hence only 4 stars.

The battery was brought up to full charge and worked well when placed in the chainsaw.
So far so good, it lasted at least twice as long as the smaller battery in the mower so we did all the mowing required with power left over.

I have previously written positive reviews on the Hedge cutter and Chainsaw which this battery powers. In both cases I have been very impressed; although the products may seem expensive once you factor in the cost of the battery, charger and appliance, they are very convenient and work extremely well. I have expressed some caution at their aftersales service in the unlikely event that a fault develops (as it did with my hedge cutter) but this was eventually resolved to my satisfaction and I remain supportive of this range.
The battery is both unexciting and fundamental. Available in both 2Amp/H and 4Amp/H (which runs for roughly twice as long on one charge of course) they are expensive at first glance. Particularly when you then need a dedicated charger which is going to add a further 25 or so to the bill. But again, they do work well. They balance the weight of the tools nicely in use. And when I think that I’ll not have to buy petrol and 2 stroke oil for my chainsaw and trimmer in the future, then maybe – just maybe – they’ll eventually save me a large proportion of the initially seemingly high price. A bit easier to justify if you bear that in mind?

I love these Greenworks items, they are very convenient and can be used at a moments notice. No no petrol, no oil just grab a battery and go.

It does what it’s designed to do, it powers the whole 40v GMax range of power tools.
It’s had plenty of use and seems very reliable so far, it keeps running at full power right up until it goes flat (no power fade).
The runtime is approx 60 mins and the charge time is also 60 mins.
An excellent lightweight battery, that charges fast and give plenty of power to the pole hedge trimmer I have for it. Gives about an hour’s use on that tool, which was enough for one session of trimming. An added bonus is the battery charge level indicator LEDs activated by pressing the button on the back.

Three items all purchased at once delivered quickly & put into use next day. The whole worked as stated in description I’ve already cut some downed wood & the battery is back on charge for tomorrow. It’s not a lumberjack tool,but has cut up some 30ft pieces of 3 inch wood & about 15 pieces of 9 inch dia trunk on 1 charge about 20 minutes in total

I have this in conjunction with the 30cm chainsaw. Very easy to install in both the chainsaw and the recharging unit, and recharge is fast. Battery is a little underpowered to run the chainsaw as I only get about 30-40 logs from a single charge (and these were seasoned softwood, so easy to cut). The 4Ah battery would definitely have been a better buy. That said, a good product thus far.

I purchased this product and separate charger for the 30cm Greenworks Battery Chainsaw. It is a straight forward process to lock the battery into the charger. The battery charged the first time in just under three hours. It is a little fiddly to get it into the chainsaw housing but once done you’ll know how to do it again. I cut branches and trunks of various diameters of up to 10 inches for two hours and saw that the power delivered to the chainsaw was as strong when I finished as when I started.
This battery will also fit other Greenworks tools such as the lawnmower and hedge trimmer.
