This is a great product, nicely made, sturdy, fits together well. Does the job nicely and outs up with quite a lot of abuse. (I cut a branch over an inch thick with the hedge trimmer). The chainsaw works nicely and is easy to maintain. This is almost a pro bit of kit. It is heavy though guys. When you have all three sections fitted together, and the strap is a bit useless. I am a 45 year old heathy man (ok I work in IT) and 30mins is about as much as I can do with this. Be prepared for the arm ache and understand that it will take a while to learn how to hold it. It’s a good piece of kit.

Look, I feel you need to be the winner of the Worlds Strongest to be able to use this out the box! It’s heavy, but there again it doesn’t appear flimsy!
With the 3 ‘poles’ connected I found it a struggle to control, even with the strap. However, you can move the strap mounting. I’m doing that to try and find the best point for the strap mounting to keep control , for me. I would recommend finding the best position for you, for the strap, its worth the little extra effort!
If you don’t need the extension ‘poles’, my advice would be don’t use them.
I bought a ‘shorter’ trimmer to trim a shorter hedge. (Wise move?)
My trimming a taller hedge won’t pass the muster of the neatly trimmed hedge police! Heavy ‘poles’ and factory fitted strap position made the job difficult, although a lot quicker than a ladder and hand tools and I’ve finally reached bits I couldn’t before. Who really cares about the neatly trimmed hedge police anyway?
Yep. You need chain saw oil! Saw the reviews and ordered at the same time. Unfortunately, I tried to fill the chain oil reservoir too quickly and it didn’t put any chain oil in the reservoir, just filled the top of the tank and overflowed. Had to ‘drain’ and then dribble the oil in. Had to put my reading glasses on to see the level on the chain saw reservoir change as the reservoir is almost as translucent as the chain saw oil. Have yet to find a way to turn the chain saw to trim the ‘stumps’ at the top of the hedge that the trimmer can’t deal with.
I got the whole thing working pretty soon after getting it all out the box and charging the battery. (The fully charged battery allowed me to trim the smaller front hedge, about 25 x 3 x 8 ft, and the top of the larger back hedge, about 40 x 8 ft, on one battery charge and quickly. Nothing is too difficult to do and it does what it says it will do, both the trimmer and the chain saw, so far!
Would I buy again? Why would I when I’ve already got one?

I bought the Greenworks Hedge Trimmer and Saw to avoid having to clamber up step ladders and worry about over reaching with electric cables being in the vicinity . Its a useful tool and tackles any trimming activities with ease , I also like the adaptable head position , it allows you to get sculpted shapes to mature shrubs with ease. The chain saw attachment I would recommend only using on established solid branches ie dont try and cut anything that is flexible you will struggle . Overall Im very pleased with the tool, battery power is good and lasst well, perhaps just over an hour with a lot of activity in that time , charges quickly . The only downside I would add is that fully extended the tool is quite heavy , although the battery and the tool attachment do balance each other quite well , it is heavy after extended use . Overall very pleased though

    Versatile useful tool

Have only used this once, had bought a different branded one Amazon before, and had to send it back, as it broke. So spent more on this one.
This tool I spent alot more on as wanted something that was gonna be more reliable.
Was able to take 2ft of bushes down, and the chainsaw really helped as there were some really thick branches.
It is a heavy tool, so be prepared, but hopefully that’s because it is made better.
The battery lasted around an hour and 20 mins, and being a 40v battery it felt alot more powerful.
My only flaw is that I think it is a bit overpriced, but I’m hoping that this will stand the test of time.

A great piece of kit! I’ve done 2 jobs with it and it’s probably paid for itself. I bought this device with an eye to the future, a possible purchase of a new lawnmower and, of course, it would make sense to buy one that uses the same battery. Based on my initial experience I can see no reason why I shouldn’t buy a Greenworks mower.

Having never bought a chainsaw of any kind I had no idea what to look for in the different brands.
I went with Greenworks because it offered great value for money with the kit that you get. They also have a brilliant website for any other gadgets you may need.
The battery life on this is fantastic and will give you a good hour of cutting before it runs out. The indicator lights on the battery itself are very helpful.
When the battery does die, it only took an hour before it was fully charged.
The chainsaw itself is brilliant and has made very easy work of the trees I wanted to trim. It will easily cut through a branch/ trunk about 15-20cm in diameter and offers great sturdiness even when used at full extension.
It is very easy to set up and changing or tightening the blade or chain is simple. Just a matter of removing the guard and turning a screw.

The trimmer part has several angles to which the blade can be set. The only wish for this I had would be that the blade could rotate as well.

I also found working with the trimmer to be slightly harder work as it seemed heavier when in full extension.

But I would have no hesitation to suggest this product.

I snapped this up on a black Friday deal, and I have been thoroughly impressed by it.

As a hedge trimmer, it managed to get through numerous shrubs and bushes with little trouble. It was very well balanced in the hand and very manoeuvrable.

The chainsaw attachment was ready to go once filled with oil, and this blasted through numerous thick branches.

After a decent session, I still had two bars left in a 2ah battery, pretty good going I thought.

I purchased this a tool only, and got a blower that included two batteries. The blower destroyed two batteries in less than 20 minutes, which I thought was a joke. This tool however is a lot more frugal on power.

I fully recommend this device, you won’t regret it!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI spent months debating if a cordless pole saw would be strong enough for my problem trees but having used this saw for a month, I can say it is probably the BEST bit of kit I have bought in many a year. We have a plot of land that is surrounded by hawthorn which should have been kept at hedge height but 25 years of neglect have allowed the hawthorn to grow into trees and stopped them being the boundry hedges that they should be. Many of the trees are 6-8 inches in diameter and 25-30 feet in height (see photos) and a real test for any chain saw but I am amazed with the ability of the Greenworks saw to not only cut through this timber but also allow me to work safely without getting branches land on me. I have primarily used only the two sections, ie battery section and chain saw section which gives me about an 8 feet reach which has been ideal for this type of tree, although I have used the extension which takes the overall length to about 12 feet on some Ash trees…..the result is excellent, always a clean cut and no dramas with overhanging brances. Changing over to the hedge trimmer mode is a piece of cake and is very versatile with I think 7 angle settings to allow you to easily work on most hedge heights with ease.
The battery life is fine – about 40-50 minutes of continuos use, which in reality is about 3 hours allowing time for cutting and clearing the site and to be honest felling trees is quite a hard graft job so I usually expire before the battery does!
You do need to keep checking the chain tension but this is normal for any chain saw and is much easier to maintain than my Stihl motor powered saw, just keep a small flat head screwdriver with you when you’re working.
Because of the amount of trees I am pruning I have bought a couple of spare saw chains, they aren’t expensive (about 15) but haven’t needed to replace the original yet.
All in all I cannot say a bad word against this product, my only regret is that I hadn’t bought it sooner!

    Brilliant Mini Chainsaw

Relatively light weight and easy to hold/move, the battery runs for over 30 minutes and charges quickly.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m a 5ft 3.5 average build woman & at first I thought this was going to be too heavy to handle? I got the knack of it quite easily & although it is fairly weighty, I can manage it! After all it is a powerful piece of kit! Must admit my arms ached afterwards BUT WORTH IT!!
I have trimmed & topped our long privet hedge, used the chain saw attachment to sadly cut down a dead fruit tree, neatened the ornamental grasses by the patio & Because it’s cordless, was able to use at the far end of the church grounds to neaten the area around the memorial garden

The different attachments are easy & quick to change, without tools & the harness works well. Please remember to purchase some chain saw oil (this needs adding to the little reservoir every time you use the chainsaw, so it lubricates & works effectively!)

The battery charges in about 1-2 hours, which is fantastic & gives me 2-3 hours work, by that time you’re ready for a rest!

I would thoroughly recommend this trimmer & Chainsaw & I think it’s payed fir itself already

Having had a petrol hedge trimmer for many years, I was skeptical about the claimed battery life and torque of this Greenworks model. I did buy it however as I already had 2 40v batteries from the strimmer and the chainsaw, both of which impressed me very much.
Of all the tools I now have, I’d say the hedge trimmer impressed me most with the 30 minute plus cutting time and the versatility of the long shaft and adjustable head.
My 30 metre long and 12′ high conifer hedge took about 2 hours to complete on 1 and a half batteries. That is about 2 hours shorter than normal as no need for a step ladder and the outstretched arms of Popeye!!
All in all, very happy. Looking forward to the 40v range being extended again to other tools.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve used the hedge trimmer twice so far and it’s great that i can now cut my hedge top of about 20m long and 2.5m high without scrambling up various ladders and steps, access is not straightforward. It’s also done it on one charge with loads of life remaining. It is a little heavy to wield but perhaps using a shoulder strap would help. Blades are really sharp and it cuts well. For the couple of times a year that the hedge gets trimmed, the price is ideal. Would have loved to have bought a Stihl product but i can’t justify the cost over the usage. Very happy with the Greenworks package and eager to try the chainsaw attachment.

Already had the Greenworks strimmer and liked that so when I needed a long reach hedgetrimmer and polesaw this was the obvious choice, particularly as I already had a 40v battery and charger. These are well made items, easy to use and effective. Inevitably they are quite heavy, particularly when the extension tube is in place, but no more so than any other make that I know of. The one criticism that others have made, that I agree with, is the difficulty in removing the battery. I find it is necessary to use a screwdriver or similar implement to prise it out while holding the release lever down. This doesn’t affect the use of the units so didn’t warrant a reduction in grading.

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersI read other peoples reviews before buying and can make the following comments.

Regarding the weight, it is quite heavy, BUT, given what it does and the extremely long pole option and the strap, the fact is that it needs to be a certain weight and also when actually using it, its not that apparent as it is very well balanced. It DOES give the old shoulders a bit of a work out, but bear in mind I have back hip and knee issues, yet I still managed. So yes its a bit weightier than you might like, but a fit strong healthy person should have no problem at all and an older, less able one can still manage it. I’m a 55yr old damaged (but determined!) female.

As for the battery life. Well it seems pretty excellent to me. We don’t have a huge garden, but I trimmed and entire hedge that must have been 9-10ft high and 14-15ft deep in no time at all and across the top, then trimmed all the clematis and wisteria that was getting out of order over our house, looked around for something else to attack, because let us not forget this is excellent FUN! Sorted out a bush that had become a hedge and was itching for more.

It was the clearing up that took the most time and then the fact I had to find bin space for all of this that stopped me before I was finished amusing myself, oh yes and a pennywort that had gone crazy in the back garden was used for initial practice, it is no more, but was earmarked for removal.

After all that, the battery indicated 75% still left, it was hardly used at all!

I had to wait to test the chainsaw, as indicated by other purchasers, it does NOT come with oil and it was advised by those of you in the know that this was NECESSARY and that it had to be a proper high grade CHAINSAW OIL. I took the advice and ordered some and it took a bit longer to come than expected, so I was delayed on that.

So yes, the POLE SAW or CHAIN SAW, it needs its oil, the machine is very good at keeping the chain oiled and after a relatively short time, I noticed, as also advised by other reviewers that the chain had become a bit slack as it stretched out from new. As I had checked in the manual knowing this was going to happen I knew what to do, there was a small screw that you turned to tighten it and that worked as promised and the chain was tight again.

Well its great fun to use, it goes through most things like a hot knife through butter. Sure you need its big brothers to take down a tree, but for branches and offcuts on trees and thick hedges it makes easy work of things I have previously spent much time and physical effort doing by hand and suffered for afterwards by using hand saws or croppers.

Its not ideal with lots of small springy branches, it will go through them but it helps if they are firm and still, if they spring about, well its more challenging, needless to say I did it anyway, but its really best on a good firm branch, it bites into it and chews its way through quickly and cleanly, you don’t have to push or use force it does that by itself.

Again the pole cutter used very little battery, I cut down a small dead tree trunk and cut it onto manageable pieces, I took the umpteen huge seed heads off my very large cordyline tree, a bit of machinery overkill perhaps but the stems are too thick for ordinary cutters and too high for me to reach with any other tool, this was doddle over in the blink of an eye and comes crashing to earth and nearly hit me in the face… and oh yes WEAR EYE PROTECTION, its necessary!

I have further offered to and have removed the dying parts of neighbours trees, and half an overgrown hedge by another neighbours garage, and all the hedge for another older resident, deal was I cut (FUN BIT!!) and they cleared up or got family members to help (BORING BIT!) So everyone was happy, I got to use my new toy and they all got their hedges trimmed and our little lane is starting to look very tidy!

The tools never lost power, never dimmed in use, and were powerful and consistent, so I am thrilled.

I am a tidy kinda gal, so I did take the tools inside and clean them down afterwards, the hedge trimmer you can only do so much, the pole cutter, well that does get a bit full of debris, so I took the blade out and cleared all the dirt away and cleared it up completely. It all went back together easily and I put it away.

I did notice on one occasion when I put the pole saw away the remaining oil leaked out, I was aware of this complaint from another reviewer, so the second time I laid it out flat and was careful to check the cap and it seems OK, I think its coming out where the chain is oiled. Not a major issue, I suggest you put the oil in when you want it and be mindful it may dribble out, its not a huge amount, but annoying of you do not put down something in case it happens.

Overall I am very impressed, nothing is better than CORDLESS, half of the work could not have been done with the average householders electric cables trailing up the lane and across the garden, and the more powerful ( if they are more powerful?) petrol is not everyone cup of tea. I additionally like the idea that if I want any more tools there is a huge selection to choose from at at reasonable cost as I only need the battery I have, which is the expensive part anyway!

Well I hope that helps, I’m still picking the twigs and bits of leaf out of my Bra…but that’s a girl issue ( I assume?), I can thoroughly recommend one of these toys and can honestly say that’s the most fun I’ve had in ages…oops Hubby is raising an eyebrow about that, gotta go! 🙂

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI needed a pruner with a long reach when I came across this deal. The price was reasonable so I took a chance on the capability. I needn’t have worried! My first test was hedge trimming and it was still running after 45 minutes of continual use and cutting better than my old corded model. The pole saw attachment is fantastic, a mini chain saw and does it cut! The 2.5 metre reach is going to cover most jobs in my garden without steps. The heads are swopped in under a minute. I’m so impressed I have ordered the leaf blower and chainsaw – we are all battery now!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersLe produit est globalement bien conu et assez solide.

A great flexible cutter to have. I can easily reach bushes and hedging to cut or just trim. It’s not heavy and has a good period of use between charging.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs you can see from the attached image i have a rather large hedge, i found that the extendable trimmer could cut all the way across the top which is around 6-8 ft deep and close to 8 ft high. The 2 ah batteries lasted the whole hedge no problem. The cutter is heavy at full extension which is expected but not unmanageable, the head also has a few cutting angles too which made cutting so much easier, i also found it cut very well. Very happy with the greenworks range of tools

Multiple cutting angles and plenty of reach

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersAlways worry about going battery rather than cord or petrol.

Purchased last week and stupid me missed the the bit where battery and charger not included. My fault.

After purchasing all the bits and used today find this an excellent piece of engineering.

Long lasting, cuts through everything as per the guide.

Like earlier reviews is quite heavy but all machinery is. The best bit is that you are so mobile and able to move around anywhere in the garden. Cutting then clearing but knowing you can pick up the machine and use straight away without worrying about electric cords or pulling on the pull string.

    Highly recommended so far.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI’ve bought several 40 Volt Greenworks tools, and as I had some large bushes and small trees to remove I thought I would give this a try. As following back problems I can now not start petrol fuelled saws, so battery power is the way I have gone.
And I’m VERY pleased with it, after over an hour of almost continual use the battery (4AH) was down to 25%, so certainly better than I had expected, as for cutting, as there is only one cutting blade per four links in the chain I was expecting it to cut slowly, but again very surprised, it cut through some very over grown Hazel nut trunks (some 200 mm in diameter) without any problems.
I’m yet to use the hedge trimmer but as I already had one and this is much the same I expect similar performance.
Some people have reported battery fitting problems, but both of mine (I have a 2AH and 4AH battery) fit perfectly, but a little tight, but better than being loose in its fitting

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersExcellent produit avec de trs bonne caractristiques.
