From our home in Norway, Helly Hansen has been making professional grade gear to help people stay and feel alive for more than 140 years.
It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born!
1877: Captain Helly Juell Hansen Launches A Legend
Norwegian captain Helly Juell Hansen wanted to find a better way to protect his sailors from the harsh, Nordic weather. By applying linseed oil to cotton canvas, he created supple, water-proof apparel. Soon after, he and his wife Margarethe started producing “oilskin” jackets and pants in Moss, Norway. Their waterproof gear was an immediate success, landing our first product award at the World Expo in Paris in 1878.

I’ve had this coat before, so I couldn’t believe the price here. But it real and I’m over the moon with price
This is the second Helly Hasen jacket I bought. It keeps you warm and is 100% water proof. The jacket is not heavy to ware and fells light weight. I ware the jacket for going to my kid football games and walking the dog. I know have a black and white jacket. I am 5foot 5 and the jacket comes down to about 1inch above my knees. I’m between a size 16/ 18 and bought xxl. I can get a top and cardigan under jacket , I’ve also worn a thick jumper and still have a little room. Would definitely buy again. Hooe this helps other buyers.
I love this jacket, had three Helly Hansen belfast jackets in the past and was looking for another black one. Didnt have the belfast in black in my size but the aiden jacket had my size so purchased one. The aiden is a fantastic jacket and although feels lightweight it holds the heat in better than some heavier jackets I own, its also windproof and waterproof. I then treated myself to a navy belfast jacket so win win for me. Both of these jackets are beautiful on and can be worn everyday or on a night out with casual attire. Delivery was very quick, would reccomend both the seller and both jackets to anybody. They are a bit expensive but the last for years and still look brand new. All in all very happy with my purchases. If you have been looking for a perfect rain/windproof/warm jacket, these wont dissapoint.
I love the length of the jacket and that it has double zippers. It keeps me warm and dry in the rain, a perfect fall/spring jacket.
Wore Costco thermals, t-shirt, and jeans. The coat kept me warm while having to walk through wind and snow to and from work. Never overheated, never got too chilly. A good investment. Simple, clean look. I really hate puffer jackets.

This coat is great! It is warm but doesn’t feel bulky. The length is great. The fit is slenderizing. I ordered a size up as I wanted a comfortable fit when wearing a bulkier sweater. Recommend purchase.

Love that this product is high quality, comfy and allows room for my thicc hips. I’ve bought other high end jackets that never have enough room for me. I ordered one size up and this jacket is a perfect fit.
Very stylish and somehow this coat makes me look slimmer than I actually am. The coat is lightweight yet warm. I have average length arms but usually the sleeves on coats are too long especially in extra large sizes. But this jacket has snaps at the wrist making it so that the sleeves fit me perfectly. If I wanted and was in extremely cold weather, I can wear a long lightweight packable down jacket under it. I say that because I’m going to Iceland where it is wet and windy, so this jacket gives me that option without feeling bulky. I absolutely love everything about this jacket. And there is an inner pocket that is about chest height.
Nice cut and style. I bought a size Large and it was almost the same fit as my size 12 Kathmandu Federate Goretex. This was slightly smaller. They both fitted me but I would have gone a size up in the HH jacket for Winter.
I reckon the size Extra Large in the HH would be perfect for layering up in Winter (or even with just one thicker jumper underneath the jacket)

It fits nice and it’s warm. I have wider shoulders and didn’t find this jacket restricting. I bought both medium and small because sometimes my shoulders mean I need to size up. I ended up keeping the small!!
practical coat for transition from winter to spring and dog walking my new furbaby. I went for a walk when it was really windy and felt no chill to the body. In a brief heavy hail shower the coat proved very water repellant. My only gripe is that it is a good fit and true to size (size uk10/small), but just a little snug around the armhole underneath, but not uncomfortably so only when wearing a thick jumper, however if I sized up it would have been a too big elsewhere. So if you want to wear lots of layers you may want to size up. Very stylish and great length (I’m 5’4″)

Very waterproof, warm and breathable perfect for dog walking. I love the double zip. I would have liked a bit more room around the bottom. Only light layers fit underneath, but overall a great purchase.
Size-wise I ordered the small based on other reviews and also the size guide. It fitted comfortably in the body but the upper arms were so Pop-Eye huge that it was clear I was wearing something too big for me.
I exchanged it for the XS and at first the shoulders felt too narrow and the underarms too tight but after only couple of times trying it on with different layers underneath, it seemed to stretch and now definitely feels like the perfect fit. I can comfortably either my Decathlon down jacket or Arc’teryx Atom AR underneath.
I’ve worn it everyday for 5 days now and it’s definitely very wind-proof, I haven’t tested it in very heavy rain yet. Warmth-wise I was toasty at 6 walking briskly with a jumper and t-shirt underneath. The price kept reducing every day for a week which was frustrating as I could’ve got it even cheaper.
I’m 5’4″, 113(ish) lbs / 52ish kg for reference.
This is an excellent coat, I’d advise you order one size larger than you usually would for a perfect fit

Beautiful but not insulated much. It’s about half as thin compared to the HH Belfast jacket which I also bought. But it makes a good alternative for just chilly days. The sleeves fit a bit slim as well. Love it nevertheless.

Love this coat. It’s insulated and waterproof so great for dog walking. I’ve only needed to wear a t shirt and thin scarf under it in December. It does come up a bit small though. However, I bought it to walk for longer so hopefully it will hang a bit better after a few weeks. Super quality.

Great quality but sizing seems to be a little smaller. I ordered a medium it’s great with a long sleeved t-shit but I couldn’t wear a sweater under it comfortably.

Took a chance based on great reviews, and ordered this coat. Ordered xl, and I’m size 16 and 5 foot 4.5. Fits great, with room for a jumper underneath. Like the way the hood tucks under the collar, and the collar looks gathered at the bottom from behind. Lovely to have it longer, to keep legs dry and warm too. Love it. 🙂

I loved the jacket but I ordered a 2X and it was too small. I need a 3x jacket. I cant wait for the 3X black jacket to be available again.
The jacket fit is fine but I asked and confirmed with the seller what the color of the logo was. They stated that it is white and it is NOT! It is a light grey color. Please update your description and verify before answering questions about the products you sell.
I love the coat, it fits well and it will be perfect for supervising children outside this fall. It has a thin lining to prevent sweating. I went up a size larger and I am glad I did.
Stylish and well constructed coat. Great for Spring and Fall. Sizing is a bit small. Check on Helly Hansen website for sizing. It works. Took to Europe and back.

Very happy with this jacket! It’s lightweight, water resistant, warm and looks smart enough to be worn as a trench coat, for work. The sizing was accurate, but bulky jumpers would make it a little too snug. Great delivery too.

Lovely jacket, I had to order an XL, which is larger than I would normally wear, but very pleased with it.

Plenty of room in the shoulders and arms. Perfect amount of insulation for the cold, wet MI days before winter.
For reference, I am 5’10, 133lbs, 36A. I usually wear a size 6 and a small depending on the brand. I used the Helly Hansen measuring tool on their website and they recommended size Medium for my body type and age.
Actually glad I didn’t get he white now as I frequent the barn and this color is a perfect in between shade if you don’t want black and you don’t want dark grey. Really happy with my purchase!
Yet another fabulous jacket from Helly Hansen. I ordered the Evening blue and went up a size to allow for ‘layering’ in the cold weather.

This is the second Aden Long I have purchased as zip broke on my first one. Warm, light and waterproof.
Perfect shape for someone who is petite and has a problem with the waistline section too long. the A frame shape avoids this issue and the jacket is very well made.
Over all , the jacket , style , delivery all met my expectations and then some .
