Needed this to cut ceramic tiles and it does the job very well. Well worth the money. Only one minor negative is that it didn’t come with an hex key, luckily I had a load spare. It’s got a nice attachment so you can connect it to the hover to heavily reduce the dust. Would 100% recommend this tool if you are looking for something built well and is on the cheap side.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad this a few months now and used it on many projects. It has been perfect, very accurate cut, easy to use, done many long cuts on laminate, conti-board, 18mm plywood, and chipboard. All cut cleanly and accurately. I have had saws from Bosch, B&D and other brands, but this one is the easiest to use and set up. Recommended.

Using this cordless power tool to cut the old hen house up into smaller pieces to fit in the Wheelie Bin. It tends to stop mid cutting, not all the time, but quite annoying. Maybe it’s under powered or the battery is to small, but it’s a 4.0 Ah battery or am I doing something wrong? – Any ideas ??? Apart from that, it’s a brilliant piece of ki

I bought this little saw to cut some sheets of ply. My large circular saw was too bulky and awkward, and a jigsaw is impossible to cut in a straight line without a fence. This little chap did an excellent job, nice and light, powerful and not too noisy. Easy to adjust and change blades.
Very useful storage case for the saw and its spare blades etc.
    Highly recommended.

I spent a lot of time thinking about buying this saw but must say I am glad I did. Build quality is good and I had no problems cutting 40mm pine. The only thing that lets it down is there being no hard case and the supplied bag is too small to get everything in. Having said that item ASIN B0076NMF6G fits it like a glove. Good saw worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have mostly DeWalt cordless tools but wanted a cheap small cordless circular saw for around the farm. This ticks most of the boxes. Great price for all you get in the box but don’t expect DeWalt quality. This is very much a DIY tool. The bigger toothed blade cuts easier the the fine tooth on wood. Main problem – no information on how to use the battery charger and the meaning of the lights on the charger and battery so I have emailed Hychika for advice. And, here it is:-

Please check if you can see the indicator lights on the charger.

    Red: The battery is charging.
Green: The battery is completely charged.

Also, there is a button on the battery that allows you to press and check the battery level.

New blades:- I had trouble finding replacement wood blades for a 10mm arbour (centre hole). In fact, it is really 9.5mm and DeWalt 115mm x 9.5mm 24 teeth is an exact fit !

Bought this quite some time ago and only had cause to use it recently while doing some repairs to a relatives kitchen. Excellent little saw. Not too heavy to operate one handed. Cuts through wood easily and is very accurate. Haven’t yet tried it on other materials but wouldn’t imagine it would be a problem. Like the vacuum cleaner attachment and the fact that the blade is depth adjustable. All in all for the price a marvelous addition to my DIY toolbox. Extremely happy with it.

Purchased because my circle saw was too big to saw laminate lengthways. It powered through 12mm laminate with no damage to the surface, then I used it on some 20mm pine to saw the wood lengthways and mitered the end using my chop saw and used this to tweak the lengths to get a satisfactory rim for a planter.
This did everything my friends Dremel saw did and more. I saved a fortune!
I can’t yet comment on how it performs long term, but I will update after a few months use.

Great little addition to the tool box. Very easy to set up and use. I bought it to cut a large, 4mm thick, sheet of polycarbonate using an 75 tooth cutting disc that was bought separately. Only down side that I can see but that hasn’t proved a problem so far, is the lift expectancy of the small locking lever for setting the sole plate depth of cut.

  43. Anonymous says:

The saw is very good and very versatile but it does give a bit of kickback which can cause a bit damage to the wood you are cutting, you need to be very careful.

Have used this to cut tiles, wood and metal. It is a great piece of kit. Blades seem quite strong. It’s great on tiles, had to do some fiddly cut outs around plug sockets and it did this without breaking the tile. It has a laser but don’t forget to turn it off, easy to forget and run down the batteries.

I’ve used it for cutting some boards and posts for a desk and shelving and it did not complain and gave clean and accurate cuts. Didn’t even had to recharge the battery yet! Great for home projects, but nothing is stopping it to be used within business for some odd jobs.
Feels good in the hand with no issues in manoeuvring it and starting the cuts.
Good build quality and simple to follow instructions makes it a great purchase.

First few uses it feels like a quality tool but I found it really awkward to use. Mainly getting the start/cutting routine. It feels heavy and clumsy but after a few uses and like any new tool, you just need to give it time. Practice on scraps before putting it to work properly, oh and check the blade is fitted correctly. Mine was not tightened properly and it kept slipping till I realised why.

  47. Alex Sword says:

Not quite as “mini” as I had expected, but easy enough to use and still suitable for my need.
It’s about the size of an angle grinder, so people with smaller hands may struggle to hold it securely, and it is heavier than it looks.
The laser is battery operated and only seemed to last a few minutes, although spare batteries are included.

It comes with a useful carry bag and 3 different blades for wood & plastic, metal, and ceramic. There is also a detachable guide arm for accuracy on longer cuts.

This worked very well on some plastic fascia boards and wooden loft floor boards.

Bigger and heavier than it looks, but good tool

Item arrived quickly and was as described . I have given it a 5 star rating because of this and the price.
I would say after using it at the weekend laying a wood floor, as others have said the rotating guard is fiddly and takes a bit of getting used too.
Also really awkward to try and work out where the cutting line is . If using the slide in guide once set right no problem. If trying to follow a line that is more tricky

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersBought this for a bathroom project, it is a great allround product, light and easy to use, the tile cutter blade makes short work of cutting all types of ceramic tile quick and easy and with the guide fitted very accurate. The wood saw blade was very useful had to cut into existing hard floor without damaging the original floor boards setting the depth of cut was simplicity itself and resulted in a perfect cut without damage to the underfloor or beams. Had concerns that the supplied baldes would not be very durable so ordered replacement blades just in case, but the original supplied with the tool were excellent and completed all the jobs no problem. Added bonus is the dust tube that fits any vacume cleaner cutting tiles or wood was totally dust free. Nice carry bag to keep everything in.

Would certainly recommend to anyone who needs a small verastitle cutter.

  52. Danae90Lncn says:

I was really impressed with this mini circular saw, I managed to cut a lot of wood and Mrs was very happy as the vacuum attachment works well, so no dust. It was a dream to use to get straight cuts. Also it was very handy to get depth control of each cut especially when cutting subfloor which was laid on floorboards. The circular saw is very light to handle much easier than a full-size circular saw and takes up a lot less space.

  53. RubenBonejcvk says:

     United Kingdom

I’ve never liked the big circular saws, I find them a bit menacing and it feels like one false move and they’ll remove a limb. This feels more forgiving, you can chuck it about and easily handle the kickback with a single hand, I use it for most cutting jobs now and it’s great for drop cutting into floors. It’s not quite deep enough to do a door so it has it’s limits and with a much smaller blade it does blunt a lot quicker than a big saw but I think to be expected.

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because you need to keep the retractable plate well lubricated, after a fair bit of use the dust will jam up the mechanism and the plate won’t retract after a cut and it’ll leave the blade exposed, this feels very dangerous and I stop using it until I can free up the plate again.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersGreat little tool. Never owned a power saw before and I needed something to help with the yardwork and didn’t want to mess about with a manual saw so I punched in ‘power saw’ in the search and this was the first thing to appear in the results.

Used it for the first time this morning and once I figured out how to work the thing (the instructions aren’t the best), it did its job brilliantly. Made short work of the wood I needed to break down.

Never heard of the brand before but I’m happy with this. Recommended.

Great saw – used it for cutting expensive 10mm wood shower decorative panels. Smooth cuts and effortless on the motor.

Quite a well packaged saw and comes with carry case etc. Only comment is whilst the red laser does appear accurate close to the leading edge – it does skew slightly away when looking 3 – 12 inches ahead of the machine. And it is non adjustable. So they should have more quality control or allow adjustment of the laser by user to make it a top 5 star produc

You do need a proper sturdy full size work bench to use this tool as cutting material does need to be clamped firmly otherwise it will move and vibrate all over the place and then the cut would be wonky and not straight.. A good solid power tool that works well from a good company.. I have a selection of hychika power tools which are all great tools to use.

Was a little wary of an unknown brand but took a chance. Had over a hundred fence boards (150mm x 19mm) to cut to size. It blitzed through these with ease. Also had to cut a couple of boards length ways & found the metal guide tool very handy for this, the laser was a little off but thought of this a a bit gimmicky & wasn’t required as it was easy to eye the V cut out along any pencil mark made. Very happy overall but can’t comment on longevity past this one project I’ve done.

It comes in a nice carry bag which is good. Has 3 blades, tile, wood and soft metal/plastic. Blades easy to change and the saw cuts well. Slight issue with the blade retraction after a couple of uses, it seems to stick. I think this may be due to dust etc. I expect after a clean and grease it will be back as new. Have used for 25mm wood and 10mm tikes and it coped well with both. A really useful addition, especially being able to cut to a set depth.
Generally feels robust and should be fine for the average DIY’er.
Have given 4 stars due to blade retraction but could easily be 5 stars after I thoroughly clean!

I was sceptical as to what sort of quality this would be when I purchased it. I bought it to use on the flooring I was fitting at the time. But I can safely say that its been used on many other jobs since. Its a great piece of kit.
Saves the need for a bench saw so you can cut big pieces of board with ease in site without having to find a bench saw.
Don’t get me wrong there are other tools that will do the job. But for the price it’s bloody brilliant.
    Would strongly recommend.

The plunger mechanism sticks on mine, a little oil helps to release it but still doesn’t cure the fault.
Other than that I am very happy. I found it fairly easy to use and using it without it’s guide, following a pencil line was simple. I was cutting plaster board and breeze blocks with the 2nd saw blade (supplied). Overall I was pleased with result.

Great for cutting small/short pieces of wood.

Can be tricky/dangerous to use, beware of any wood flexing during the cut. The blade is short so will flex and jump if the wood turns.

The measuring jig is on the wrong side to a circular saw which is annoying.

Make sure you’re fully tilted /at depth during the cut otherwise the blade will be too short and may jump.

Good for little cuts and accurate with laser, would use a circular saw or mitre for anything else.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersA really good addition to my workshop. After a bit of practise I found this tool to be easy to use and have used it for more Jobs than I thought I would. The only negative thing that I would say is, the laser marker isn’t accurate. I’ve tried to re-align it with no luck, but someone else may be able to adjust it easily. It’s not a problem as you can see exactly where the blade touches the timer, plus I use the adjustable side guide plate. So it’s not really a problem.

Bought this product to cut some bathroom tiles in situ on the wall before fitting a larger bath. Perfect for the job, and also used it to make a cut-out in the floorboards for the drain – it contains a diamond disk for the tiles and two general purpose saw blades. You can set the depth of the cut so you only cut through what you want to remove, and the laser and guide marks make it easy to follow the saw line. One of the most useful DIY products I have ever bought – only small gripe is that the hinge mechanism can get a bit sticky due to debris, and is a bit fiddly to operate (you have to simultaneously push the button on top of the machine to release the hinge, and squeeze the button on the bottom of the machine to run the motor)

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersA very useful saw, I did wonder if being a mini saw whether it could cope with cutting, but I’ve used it on laminated chipboard, And timber where it zipped through quickly and efficiently. I used a clamped piece of timber as a saw guide on narrower pieces ie 25x50mm as it is harder to see where you’re cutting. The motor is a bit more powerful than some mini saws I’ve seen and I like that it came with 3 blades and a neat carry bag.

The saw is very handy, was just the right choice for the job.
I needed this type of saw for our latest project with the flooring upstairs, which involved replacing some old squeaky boards and cutting to size laminate flooring.
It’s lightweight and easy to operate. I am happy with the precision for the depth of cutting.
Laser is really handy for guiding long straight cuts.

Will have to see how long it lasts for (more projects coming next year), but I’m very happy with first experience.

Bought to do long cuts and strip end finishing pieces while installing laminate flooring . Its a handy bit of kit , cuts cleanly and well . Is it as good as a table saw ? No ! Does it replace a ripsnorter ? No ! . The depth of cut (25mm) limits its use but for small household jobs such as cutting skirtings or laminate or tiles its perfect . The laser is a tad temperamental but included you get a slide guide , 2 other blades , an allen key and a storage bag as well as a dust hose attachment .
I found that using it one handed is a little bit akward as you have to push a top switch to allow it to plunge whilst forcing it down into the cutting position, lining it up and without hitting the start trigger but i assume that the workpiece should really be clamped and the saw operated with two hands for more precision . Im just lazy and i dont have a bench with clamps . Well worth purchasing for small household jobs and im delighted to have it as a quick alternative to hand sawing with a tenon.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI bought this little power horse of a saw after using a battery powered one to try and make some cupboards in my utility room. Although the battery powered one was good, it kept running out of battery power.

After two months of use and several dozen feet of cuts through 18mm melamine/15mm sheets of 8X4 plywood/ 2″X2″ rough dawn timber/Tounge and groove boards it hasn’t failed to impress me.

In the two months I’ve made 3 new cupboards for utility room, playhouse shed for the kids and re-shelved the garage.

I have changed the blade a couple of times but wanted to make sure getting the best cuts and they are pretty cheap replacements online.

If thinking about getting one. Just get it. You’ll not regret it.

I have been cutting through 18mm plywood with no problem
The only down sides are- the switch as to be pulled back while you are pushing the saw forward just feels unnatural and the laser is a manual on / off which if you forget to switch off after each us soon drains the batteries(2 sets provided)

In saying this I would buy this saw agia

Golden Review Award: 89 From Our UsersOk so I bought this saw because I am laying some laminate floor in 3 rooms and also tiling 2 bathrooms and my kitchen.
I wanted this type of saw because I know how well they cut laminate floor and tile having used a similar product a few year ago.
So I have used this for cutting the tile in my kitchen and the laminate floor in my kitchen.
It performed amazingly well to cut both the tile and the laminate floor. The laser guide and straight edge guide are perfect.
Replacing the saw blades is a doddle, you press the lock button and use the Allen key to loosen the bolt then the blade can be pulled out of the bottom, put the new blade in and hey presto you have a new blade in place in about 60 seconds.
I also purchased another set of blades but so far I have not had to use them as the blades are very sharp and hard wearing.
The saw itself is very powerful and not overly loud and the added hose attachment for a vacuum is brilliant and gets rid of a lot of the mess.
I absolutely love this saw and can not wait to get using it again for the next to rooms I have to lay laminate flooring.
All in all this has been a very good experience for me. Fast delivery, great product, great build quality and works exactly as it should. 5 stars from me.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersI have a couple of the same brand saws, different models, I couldn’t be happier. This mini circular saw comes in a nice carrier bag which I really like, I love the thoughtful detail of the little pocket inside for the blades.
The saw in particular feels very sturdy and we’ll made. It comes with 4 different blades, it’s easy to use and instructions are clear.
One feature I really like is the vacuum hose, it has a conical shape so it’s compatible with any vacuum cleaner. It helps a lot keeping the dust away.
I think for the price you couldn’t ask for more.

Very practical. Feels sturdy and we'll made

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersI bought this saw to cut out laminate flooring ready for a new stone hearth to be fitted.

Once I played with it for a while to practice (essential) it worked a treat. being able to adjust the cutting depth and ensure I wasn’t cutting in to concrete and blunting the blade was great. The blade did smoke a bit but I think that may have been due to the glue in the laminate burning?

If you push too hard the motor will struggle as its not a heavy weight rip saw so take your time. Great thing is you can stop and start easily. Just reset the blade back in to the cut and fire up again.

To get someone to cut out the flooring would have cost four times the cost of the saw so I think it just makes sense. I have some more flooring to lay in the future and it will be really helpful with this too.

The dust pipe was a bit useless to be fair as the vacuum as the effort on the motor sucking from a tiny tube made the motor cut out so I found it easier to cut; stop; vacuum; cut ;stop; vacuum etc etc…dust!

Did lots of research before I bought a plunge saw and I think it paid off. Great bit of kit. Thoroughly recommend.

Great addition to my tool ki

his item came well packed and protected, after a bit of study i have found the saw to be easy to use and very versatile, I like the fact that it came with three spare Blades a laser guide and scale ruler, and to complete the package its own Carrying and storage Bag.it is a very welcome tool into my workshop.

I was surprised at the weight – a good thing. I tried some test cuts and book straight out of the box away we went. You do need a bit of practice to use this and start carefully! I gave it 4 stars as it does not cut as close to edges as some others but it is a great piece of kit in your DIY arsenal.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersAll in all a good little saw, a bit under powered struggles a bit with 20mm chipboard but I would think its great on thinner stock. I cut once at about 12mm and then to full depth, ok if you are using a fence or guide. I found the trigger rarther uncomfortable and it’s easy to let it slip to the off position. One of the other reviews mentioned the kink in the dust extraction pipe, I have managed to largely straighten this out but it’s too long for the bag and really needs to be more flexible or have a prrotective sleeve to stop it kinking.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe saw arrived on time and was easy to setup. The saw is quite heavy compared to other saws that I’ve used, and that is a little bit of a drawback. You get a good selection of saw blades in the pack, the usual set of attachments and a carry bag to put them all in. The saw did a decent job on the wooden unit I’d bought it for and it will make a good addition to my tool chest.
It is a nice saw for the price I paid but it is quite heavy compared to other saws which can be a drawback if you are using it for a long time.

Golden Review Award: 120 From Our UsersI don’t normally write reviews, but I make exceptions when something is either very good or very bad. In this case, the saw is brilliant! I was sceptical because of the price, but I thought if it lasts for one project then it’s paid for itself. I’ve now done two projects and it’s still going strong and on the original blade! I have a bigger circular saw but I chose to grab the hychika every time now because it’s lighter and quieter and easy to be more accurate. Good range of accessories, the only negative I would say is that the laser has to be turned off manually and I keep forgetting because my other saws have it as built in to run off the mains. This means the battery in this one runs out because I haven’t flicked the switch off. Good adjustable depth for cutting and good at plunge cuts. Very happy with the saw, hopefully getting replacement blades will be straight forward. I would definitely recommend.
