Sturdy Mowe
I’ve cut two lawns (approx 80m) twice and haven’t had to recharge which is good. No more messing with cables getting caught on the shrubbery!!
The lowest cut isn’t as low as the previous mower but the lawn still looks great when done. Shouldn’t cut the lawn too short in the summer anyway.
On the whole I’m happy with the mower. Although I still have concerns over the longevity of the batteries
The mower works well enough with battery life more than enough for my medium size lawn. mulching function is good on already short grass. Bonus is the low noise level.
Now the not so good:
Assembly was straightforward but installation of safety features was not.
Not as manouverable as my old power mower which weighed 5 kg more – mainly due to the wheels being a tad small.
Some of the plastic parts look a little flimsy – time will tell.
Overall a pretty competent mower which with care should last many years – I hope.
On opening up the box, find one of the front wheel trims did not fit correctly and no mulching cover was included. Brought up the matter with HYUNDAI directly, once acknowledged parts sent out and recieved inn the post within days.
The actual machine I purchased HYM40Li420P, is a joy to operate, the cut, its abilities and ease of operation including the batteries etc, all without a hitch, FIRST CLASS piece of kit and good value.
I needed two mowers after an international relocation. One for my son and one for me. I was pleased with my previous 25 year old Masport petrol mulcher which is still going strong but thought I’d try a modern silent battery powered mower this time round. After testing one for a few weeks I bought another the exact same. These Hyundai’s at least have some weight with their alloy frame, reducing the battery performance but hopefully improving their longevity. The only assembly is to fit the handle and surprise surprise they cut and mulch the grass fine. I wonder will they last 25+ years?
Excellent mower. Easy to assemble. Only down side is not being able to cut the grass as short as I’d like. I cannot use the lower 2 settings as the chassis drags on the ground making it too hard to push and I have a very flat law
Spent a little extra for better battery life and build quality,not wrestling with the power cord like an unruly snake is worth every penny,great build quality easy to assemble,cannot recommend enough
Perfect for Small - Medium size garde
Cuts well and love the different levels of height adjustment. A lot more powerful than other cordless ones I have tried. Battery lasts more or less whole grass but will buy a 2nd battery for future.
Very sturdily built, but heavy in consequence.
Like the space age look of the battery compartment and the sturdy build. Perhaps it is my fault, but I thought it ran on two batteries, whereas one of the two compartments is just to store a second one that is not supplied. I am 5 foot eleven inches and although I constructed the handles in the high position it is not high enough for me, which means you have to stoop somewhat to push it. I can’t see any way to modify it.
All in all it is rather disappointing but I will have to persevere with it.
Does the job
Overall happy with the purchase. It’s very quite I must admit (I’m sure the neighbours appreciate that).
It’s also easy to adjust cutting height. Machine looks great and feels well built. The only down part is that it only comes with 1 battery which for me means charging twice to complete my 180ft garden. Now looking to buy a 2nd battery

Cuts well and has plenty of power. Cuts my medium sized front and back lawns twice in one charge.
Would have given it 5 stars apart from:
1. The instructions say that the battery should be fully discharged before recharging. As it comes with only one battery this makes things awkward. When I contacted their representative they said they’d offer me a 5% discount on another battery making it still over 100. When I contacted them again they then said that the instructions are out of date and that the new battery doesn’t need to be discharged. Hope that’s the truth.
2. Really needs to be able to cut a bit lower as my lawn still looks like it could do with a bit more off after I’ve finished.
I note other reviews have said this, so if you prefer a short cut lawn look elsewhere.
3. The plastic hubcaps keep coming off, which is disappointing as the rest of the machine feels so well built.
The best battery lawnmower of 2022.
This is a review after 5 months. I had a couple of issues. Solved instantly without BS by Amazon.
Hyundai is like a Honda but made in Korea. Built well. It won’t go wrong unless you misuse it. It’s the best of Korea for machinery like Samsung is for electronics. Like Mitsubishi is for machinery in Japan and Sony is for electronics. Same deal. You can’t go wrong. It will do the job to the highest quality. It cuts grass. Exactly as designed.
This is the budget best for medium sized lawns. No heavy steel roller so you don’t wow lines like a cricket ground. But you get two go’s on one charge. It has staying power. But that will recede with age obviously. A new battery is a new life after a couple of years I reckon.
Bottom line. The best economy buy.

This is easy to use nice and light and maneuverable. Cuts the grass with ease. Will not like very long grass. Battery last quite a time. Room for second battery but you will have to buy it only one battery supplyed. Recommend this machine.
Great product for the price
Arrived within the stated times and was well packaged. Easy to assemble and use, but does rattle a bit. Battery charging is quite quick. The height adjustment lever can catch on walls and bushes.
Great mower, best to have 2 batteries if you have a decent sized law
Just used this mower for the first time, easy to put together and very pleasant to start and use. Did find that on our medium sized garden as the grass had grown pretty long since our last mower died with the sun and rain, it took 2 charges of the battery to cut all the grass. I’m sure now just keeping it trim will be achievable on a single change but I’ll buy a 2nd battery anyway just for peace of mind.
like a lot of people I read review after review on many different makes and versions of battery cordless lawnmowers. I decided to order this unit and I am very very glad I did. what a machine. to give it some context. I used to have a cabled flymo and it took me nearly 40mins to cover a 120sq m lawn and today it only took me 15mins and still had about 15mins spare on the battery. Also the grass collector stores a lot so 6 or 7 visits to the brown bin is now 2 to 3. the cut is great the assembly was no bother at all. the only thing I had to sort was the cut level handle wouldnt stay in place but a firm nudge with my right foot knocked it in place.
Excellent Hyundai 42 cm cordless mowe
Excellent Hyundai 42 cm cordless mower replacing 35 year old Mountfield 45 cm petrol mower. Much lighter and easier to use than the Mountfield and a lot easier to start of course. Looks reasonably well made as well but whether it will last 35 years is another matter, but I won’t anyway so it’s academic. Running cost is zero as I have solar panels. The only concern was battery life but it cuts my 100 square metre lawn dropping only one led from 4 to 3 so is probably good for 2 or maybe 3 suts before recharging. I did consider buying a Moutfield cordless but at almost twice the price I think I made the right choice.
Easy to use
It was easy to assemble. The lawn looked good after I mowed it.
Most importantly no more messing about with a cable.
Knocked a star off because it is a bit plastic looking.
It does the job perfectly. Mowning the lawn is a breeze now.
However, there’s a few things that need improvement.
– It’s very heavy. 20kg is a lot for a lawn mower that’s meant for personal use.
– Folding the machine as shown in the photos requires that you loosen one triangle screw and remove another one after every use. This part definitely requires improvement as it takes a lot of space if not folded.
– Instructions were not accurate but after contacting Hyundai I was told the manual was for the previous model. Kudos to their support for the prompt response.
Surprisingly good
Was nervous about buying this as I’ve been used to petrol mowers with a 45cm blade. Battery life is very good, 250sq m lawn cut in 35 mins with 2 lights still showing on battery.
Can cordless replace petrol? I think so.
Have just received this, took me longer to read the safety notes esp about battery use, than it took to assemble.
Much lighter to use than my petrol mower, sliced through long damp grass with ease on the trial run. Waiting to see how it performs on a full lawn cut and how long the battery lasts.
So, I have cut 2 big lawns and 3 smaller ones on one battery charge. Impressed. The grass box takes a lot of clippings, about 30% more than my Honda.
My initial impressions of this mower are highly favourable. Obviously this is quite a lot of money to spend on a mower, especially if like me you don’t have a very big garden and this don’t really require a bigger mower. However, my main requirement was to reduce the amount of time spent faffing about with extension leads for my long, thin property and my relatively tiny front lawn – which in particular used to take longer to set up for getting power than it took to actually mow.
The height adjustments and quality of the cut are better than my old mower, and the battery life is significantly longer than I need – I didn’t even move off of all four LED lights being lit, I assume indicating that I didn’t go below 75%.
The only minor annoyances for me were how the assembly diagram didn’t exactly match the device in real life – the thumb screws have to go on the outside near the body to permit the grass box to be attached, and also that the handle can’t be double-folded without completely removing the lower screws/bolts each time. It would have been nice if some alternative method of securing the lower part of the handle could have been employed to allow simpler full folding each time.
Great Battery Mowe
I purchased this after I burnt out my electric mower cutting a neighbours overgrown lawn. I wanted something substantial and boy this is substantial. It is made of steel so as you would expect it is quite heavy, but the wheels cope with that on the lawn surface. The height adjustment is easy to use and just slides into place, so when moving from front to back lawns, I just slot it into the highest notch and then reset when ready to mow. I only purchased this in October last year, just ready for the final cut of the year. I was impressed, but waited to review after a couple of cuts this year. Well, spring sprung early, and I have trimmed the lawns a couple of times and the mower does a great job. The battery has loads of power left when I have finished. I would recommend this mower to friends or family.

Extremely pleased with this mower – only used once as yet but very easy to operate, lighter than expected which is a bonus to me. Plenty of battery life left after a complete cut of my med/large lawn.
Very good machine
I had been considering a “cordless” mower since our similar sized mower failed last year and I am delighted with this. The main body is metal so very robust, the extra weight isn’t a problem and the wheels and handle are very good. The height adjustment and all other controls are very easy to use, it is also very quiet. I think the mower is well worth the price but I found a “used” one on Amazon which was said to have some damage but I was delighted when I received it as the machine was pristine, not even assembled , but it was not in the original box. 180. A very good result!!

It now cuts the lawn quicker because it’s so much lighter and easier to use.
The battery lasts for about one and a half cuts of our lawn which is about 60ft long.

Lawnmower is amazingly quiet too.
I suggest you cut longer grass at a high cutting height first and then again at a shorter height to save clogging as it applies more power when required therefore reducing your battery charge and it cuts off automatically when clogged . So far very pleased with this lawnmower.
From opening the box it was very easy to set up. Charging the battery took about 45mins. Once inserted into the mower away we went.
The main thing to point out is that the mower is very well built, very sturdy and very heavy. Easy to push, it glides along the lawn mulching as it cuts ( once the mulching plug is assembled).
Our 112ft x 20ft wide garden used just over half of a full charge.
I would highly recommend this mower, with the proviso that the weight might be a problem.
Great machine
Seems to be well made and robust, looks good, easily assembled and easy to use. Also great colour.
No more extension cables and moving the plugs around! No more holding onto cables and getting in a knot on my awkward-shaped lawns. I love this lawn mower! I’m going to get a strimmer by the same company so that I always have two batteries that I can use for either.
Worked simply and straight out of the box with little assembly. It is well built and works well making it worth the premium.

Very apprehensive at buying our first battery mower as we had heard and read so many disappointing reviews. But I can honestly say we are really pleased and happy with this mower. The battery lasted long enough to cut both back and front lawns (50ft x 15ft and 10 ft x. 12 ft) approx. With about 25% battery life still remaining. The body is made if metal which makes it far more robust . It feels and performs with quality. It suits our need perfectly.
I was very excited to replace my corded Lawnmower with a cordless version and after some research I chose this one. So far, I have not been disappointed and definitely made the right decision.
The product was easy to assemble and the battery came 75% charged. I was then able to mow both from and back lawns on one charge. The lawnmower has a very nice feel and is very easy to handle. so far, so good.

A well constructed battery lawn mower with a good width of cut. Easier to use / push than I expected and the battery life seems very good.
Purchased this to replace a corded Bosch mower. Cutting my lawn using the Hyundai is much quicker, easier and safer. Not having a lead makes it a far easier job. No need to remove the bird bath and washing line from the lawn, no need to get out the extension lead. Maneuvering without a lead is far easier and the mower is much quieter than my old Bosch.
The battery provided more than enough charge to cut both the front and rear lawn – circa 100 square metres – and the grass was wet and quite long.
Last but not least, the quality of the cut was excellent. Really pleased with this mower.
This was bought to replace a petrol lawn mower that ‘coughed’ a lot before clearing….
This was a pleasantly surprising good cut from a really quiet machine. Just 4 screws to assembe the handle bars, charge the battery and away you go. The brushless motor certainly cuts down the noise levels. Light enough to push on a medium cut height, though no doubt it wil take a little more effort on long grass or a lower cut.
No more noise or fumes, highly recommended if you are swopping over to battery.
(It is made of metal in China, so I’ll see how long rust takes to start…)
Update November 2021: Beware lack of spare batteries in the UK, doesn’t look promising for long term use.
I’ve had just about all cordless electric mowers and the reviews and price caught my eye when it was time to replace my current mower. As most of us do I look at Dozens on the market and this new edition does not disappoint. Don’t you just hate it when the clippings have dumped at the front of the collection box? Well, not on this machine they are stored right at the back. A big plus. Also to note is that the electrics are situated at the top of the mower hence leaving more space obviously at the bottom and this makes it easier to clean underneath and also creates a bigger vacuum to collect the grass. Clever stuff !! It was by far the best machine I have ever purchased in terms of setting up as take it out of the box, connect the handles, insert the battery, and away you go. The actual cut of the lawn was fine and it cuts well at all heights and the battery? still had 50% left after cutting my two medium-sized lawns. The grass box is more than adequate and I am struggling to find any faults at all after the first use so if you were to buy and use it on a slightly bigger lawn then a second battery would be a fail-safe option. Batteries are never cheap at around 80. I will not need one but you just might. A recommended product.

Have not had the mower long but arrived quickly, was easy to assemble and use. Replaced my previous battery lawn mower a Sun Joe and this certainly feels a step up in quality. The metal body of the mower makes it heavier than my previous plastic bodied mower but still lighter than a petrol mower and so much more convenient. Battery was 75% charged on arrival and after charging fully cut lawn easily given how long it had grown since previous mower stopped working. The 6 mowing heights were also very useful. After finishing still had 50% charge remaining on battery. Very pleased so far.
Finding my petrol engined mower hard work, I went for this Hyundai mower because I wanted something lighter without a pull start and having to mess about with fuel and oil. This is exactly what was in the box, which was easy to assemble and cuts both my lawns with a single charge. In addition, this mower is priced very competitively.
Very good mower,beady to assemble. Good to have the mulching plug included. Battery life is ok, first now and it just about survived the thick grass in the back garden. Second now I managed to get both lawns mowed but suspect if I missed a week or two then it would struggle to last for both lawns.
