    Great Wheels
I wanted to wait a bit before I gave a review. My initial impression of this wheelset is that they look great and the packaging was good. They are light…1479 grams. Even the skewers are light at 91 grams for the pair. I do agree with everyone else that mounting my Gatorskins was a workout. My existing tubes have 48mm stems and they are just long enough to use without extensions.
So now, 2 weeks in, I have done 7 rides ranging from 26 miles to 38 miles. They are awesome so far. Perfectly true and spin as well as any wheels I have owned. The freehub sounds great…a nice buzz. The brake pads work well and are not too loud, but they do leave some gray residue. Not a show stopper.
All that’s left now is to see how they hold up. So far, so good!

    Leggerissimi!

This is my second set of Ican wheels I went with the more entry-level version this time as it was a cheaper build that I had done. However I am not disappointed as they are almost as good as my FL 50s. Which I have 15,000 miles on looking forward to getting as many miles out of these.

My first ride with these wheels was 106 miles with 6000 feet of elevation garden n, and they performed great. Smooth, fast, and comfortable. I couldn’t be happier with them at this point.

    So Far So Good
Just started riding them so i can’t speak to their longevity. However, they look really good, they feel great, the rolling resistance is incredibly low and the free hub isnt nearly as loud as i feared.

Thought i would have to return them due to the bike shop saying it wouldn’t fit an 11spd. Bike shop was wrong, it does fit 11spd.

So far I’m super happy. They only thing that would make me happier is if they were tubeless.

Light weight and nice looking wheels
I have only put 75 miles on these wheels and so far so good. They are stiff and appear to be well made. True out of the box. I like the sound they make when I am coasting. The supplied brake pads do leave residue on the brake track but can be removed with some effort. Braking is better than I thought. Not as good as my aluminum clinchers but pretty good.

If I run into any issues as I put more miles on these wheels I will update my review.

Brand Means Nothing. These Wheels Are Awesome!
These Wheels are a Phenomenal Value. My biggest worry was the braking performance and I quickly gained confidence in them after 2-3 rides. I ride climbs and descents weekly and brakes are as good or better than my previous aluminum wheels. They are tough as nails! Rest assured that these will exceed your expectations and save you a ton of money over the name brand wheels.
    FYI, I ride around 100 miles a week & about 2000/year.

The wheels were originally shipped to me with a 10-speed rear hub but before the wheels even arrived they informed me of the mistake. They provided a video and asked if I would be able to swap the hubs. I said yes so instead of me returning the wheels, they just sent me the 11-speed hub. I did install myself but I made an error. Customer service was very responsive and worked with me until I got the rear wheel to work smoothly. Very happy with the wheels. They are super fast and helping me move up the Strava leaderboards.

    NOW HAPPY
I know Conti 4000’S can be hard to mount on some wheels but it’s VERY TOUGH on these rims, not to mention ruining two tubes and breaking a tire lever in the process. They are light and look nice, will try other tires and see what happens. Will update soon.
Update June 2021 Bought a EZ Clincher tool for mounting new Conti 5000’s. Makes a world of difference, carry it in the saddle bag. Only 100 miles on them but loving the feel and increased speed on flat roads. Doing a hilly ride soon so will see how they climb.

I've purchased about 6 sets of this wheelset for bike that I've built for cycling buddies and have had no issue whatseover. They come nicely packaged, they are true, and perform as one would expect. I've ridden my own sets for thousands of miles and haven't had an issue. Worth the price and quality is very good!

    A good pai
hey come true and stay true. No nicks or cracks. Will test it out on longer rides in the near future.
Comes with everything mentioned in the product description.

    Likes:
    light weight

    cost

    dislike:
    difficult to mount tires
    skewers
    questionable spokes

I think for my use, these are just fine. I don’t feel all that much faster but these wheels are lighter than my previous so ever so slightly easier uphills. these wheels feel stiff. I want to mount wider tires but i’m afraid of the difficultly of swapping it out.

Fast uphill and down. Surprisingly comfortable over rough pavement. No problems with side winds so far. Including carbon specific brake pads was a nice touch. Arrived ahead of schedule. Nice wheels.

I have been using these wheels for 15 months and 5k miles and still love them. They are light, fast, and look nice. The hub is a little loud, but rolls very nicely. I’m impressed with these wheels.
One downside is that getting tires on Carbon rims can be a workout and these wheels are no exception. It takes a little work, but is possible on the side of the road.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThese wheels are an amazing value. I could not believe how well they rolled once on the road. They arrived quickly and in great shape. Mounting of cassette and tires was a no brainer and they transformed the ride (and look) of my bike. I would recommend them to any cyclist of any level.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersIf you pay 5x more for carbon wheels, you're a sucker!
Edit (2 years later) : Still love the wheels, but I gotta say this…REBUILD THEM.
After 2 years of nearly daily riding, the spokes were giving up. I never broke one, but the rear wheel wouldn’t stay true.
After having to true it once a week for about a month, I ordered round, double-butted Sapim spokes, and rebuilt both wheels.
The wheels are better. Lots. Better.
    Smoother. Stiffer. Faster.
They just RIDE better with the round spokes.
The rims show virtually no wear after two years.
The hubs are smoother than butter on a bald monkey.
I was happy with the wheelset before. $50 of spokes & a couple of hours later, I’m even happier.

I’ve ridden pretty much every brand of carbon wheels this side of Lightweights, and I’ve gotta say, if you choose to spend 5 to 10 times more for a set of carbon wheels, you’re doing it for the sake of vanity.
The 38s are my second set of wheels from ICAN. I bought 50s w/Novatec hubs and CX Rays a year ago. Those wheels have been rock solid, and remain dead straight.
As for these 38s, I’ve ridden them for a bit more than a month. Not so much as a hiccup.
To be honest, they’re actually stiffer than than the 50s, and stiffer than my set of high spoke count alu wheels. Stand up, mash the pedals, and the power is transferred directly into the wheels…and into forward motion. Throw the bike into a corner at 25+ mph, and there’s no drama. They just turn in, and you stay on your line. Methinks the fatter spokes make a BIG difference here. And don’t be dissuaded because the spokes aren’t made by a “big name”. They are the same shape and dimensions as Sapim CXs.
The hubs are dead smooth, and roll extremely well, even only being used for 4 weeks. The weight of the valve stem alone rolls the rear wheel over when the bike is hanging in the stand. I did pull the rear hub apart before riding the wheels. The freehub was sorely lacking in grease. Not a big deal, at all, and easily remedied.
I installed Vittoria Corsa tires and Vittoria latex tubes. Smooth and light deserves smooth and light. Let’s be honest, if you’re riding ‘fast’ wheels, and not riding ‘fast’ tires, you’re sort of missing the point.
The wheels and tires just want to roll, and they hold speed well.
The included rim strips are light, and work perfectly. Same with the skewers.
As with the 50s, I’m impressed with these wheels.
ICAN makes good stuff. Don’t tell your friends though! Let them keep buying the overpriced wheels! Suckers.

I do like the overall design of the wheels and they have a smooth rolling hubs. I will be relating more input once I put my first hundred miles to the performance of these wheels. The one thing that was showing as part of the package was the TI skewers instead of the steel ones.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersInitial impression is a very nice, well made wheelset. Wheels were true and hubs very smooth. Have 5 rides and about 120 miles on them at this point I feel a smoother ride and easier pedaling on acceleration and at speed. Looking forward to many miles on these wheel. Don't know how you can beat the quality for the price.

Wheels look good and have a nice finish. Thus far have a little over one hundred miles on them.
I’ve looked them over closely and they look very good for the price, in fact they are a bargain when compared to store bought carbon wheels.
You can see the layers of carbon wrap. I have friends with well known name brands and these look the same.
Some question about mounting tires on carbon wheels. I installed a 23mm on the front and a 28mm on the rear with no issues.
These require a little work but very acceptable should the need arise, while on the side of the road.
Installed the provided rim tape and with one hundred miles no flats so far. The wheels are rolling smooth and performing great.
They also stop ok with the supplied carbon wheel brake pads. They stop ok in humid foggy damp weather as well.
I received the wheels in three days with regular shipping!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAfter one month riding hills with these wheels ... 5 stars!
I needed a new wheelset out of necessity (my rear wheel was damaged in accident). These wheels were delivered about a month ago. I lack time to train and ride century rides these days, so my biking is almost exclusively an hour to hour 1/2 on 3 different avg 8% grade hills … up and down etc. My goal is fitness … merely the high of a good workout. When I first put these wheels on the weight difference between these and old was immediately obvious (feared I might get spoiled and soft :-). It is not my imagination, I can accelerate faster when I want when riding uphill. These wheels are great … wish I knew earlier. Quick summary of couple challenges:

    1) after popping first tube, learned I needed tape. the tape was not in the box with the wheels, but I called MFG and they shipped immediately. Amazon also sent me Velox Rim Tape (2-Pack), 16mm at no charge. I would highly recommend this tape vs. other … quality.
    2) learned I needed tube with 60 mm presta stem and to this extent, also learned I needed to put some pressure on valve to push it through hole on wheel rim.
    3) learned the tube matters and now have sufficient inventory for some time. I read some bad reviews about Continental which was the tube I had always used and had no problem. But I listened to the reviews and ordered both Sola and Sunlite. After popping both of these tubes when attempting to get the tire on the wheels, I finally noticed that Continental was a better fit than these other two. The other 2 were too big and continued to get pinched … very tight fit getting tires on these wheels.
    4) I am about to stock up on break pads, just to have them. No problem so far with braking (brake pads were in box). Rode with group in rain this last weekend, no problem … not hill ride though.

Nice fit and finish to these wheels. Only 2 days of riding on them but they ride nice so far.
I’ve looked them over closely and they look very good for the price, in fact they are a bargain when compared to store bought carbon wheels.
For me, the big question was, “could I get my Gatorskin tires on them.” Yes !
Getting tires on Carbon rims can be a workout and on my previous set of cheap Carbon wheels it was impossible with Gatorskins.
These require a little work but very acceptable should the need arise, while on the side of the road.
Instead of rim tape “which is included” I use Velocity Velo-plugs to cover the spoke access holes, they make it a little easier to mount and remove the Gatorskin tires.
I should also note, that I received the wheels in 2 days! And that included the holiday on the 4th of July. So they were shipped as Overnight.
Very happily surprised on that. Thank you.

Update : These are still rolling smooth and performing great. One thing to note, that I didn’t the first time I posted, is that the rims are very “clean” in their build. You can clearly see the layers of carbon wrap. Other cheap rims I’ve seen from china smear carbon paste all over the rims trying to cover up a poor build. Not so with these. Still impressed !

Update 2 : It is now 3 years since I bought these and they are still in great shape, rolling smooth and flawless.
A great bargain for the wonderful fit and quality. Could not be happier.

Very nice and handsome wheels, super light for the price I have paid. Sweet ride and comfortable as well. Hubs roll easy and there are no weird sounds at all after 500+ miles already. You don’t need to pay a high price tag for decent wheels like these. I highly recommend them.

Good quality, good value pair of wheels, very stiff and very light. The only disappointment was the lack of rim tape. A small detail, but I can’t remember the last time I bought wheels and them not to come complete with rim tape.
