For the cost I was quite surprised at how much this cctv camera can do, and it does it pretty well, it’s a bit sticky with the intelligent tracking but this feature can be turned off, all in all so far from fitting (5/7/23) to using it has surpassed my expectations, time will tell on the longevity of this product but fingers crossed it will last.
So we’ve been looking for a CCTV camera for our back garden, and after looking at reviews on Google, this camera came up, it’s bigger than we expected, but that’s fine, the quality of the picture is amazing for the price, we also like the way the 360 degree works, it sends notifications to my phone and iPad every time there is someone in the back garden, we have removed the notification sound as it can be a little irritating when one of us is out there, the good thing is I can see if anyone enters when we are away, playback with my internet speed is not great, so you just download and it plays fine. All I can say is that we are very happy with our purchase and will be ordering another for the front of the house.
The pictures attached show how we fitted our camera, there are no wires outside and I think it looks pretty neat inside, we drilled a 28mm hole through the wall and inserted a 25mm piece of conduit and foamed round the space, we then attached a draw wire to the wires on the camera (fiddly so make sure large wire goes in first, followed by smaller wire) and pulled them through
I’ve used these cameras before but normally go for their POE or wired cameras. Image quality is good and auto tracking is superb. Although they claim they are waterproof they just don’t like our windy wet weather here in the Isle of Man other that just make sure to give some protection to top of camera if you have similar weather issues. Good specs and value for money.
Camera arrived ontime and exactly as described, nicely packaged in a sturdy box and polystyrene type inner cushioning around the camera.
I also purchased a 128gb micro SD card, which fitted perfectly, (make sure it’s a minimum class 10 card, I got a SanDisk card).
I also purchased a small weatherproof box for the excess cables (see my photo), just to keep things neat and protected.
Camera fairly simple to set up and connect to my WiFi network, then after a bit of trial and error, I figured out the specific parameters I required. Camera works perfectly and the image quality day and night is far greater than I was expecting. Nice and clear Image, even when zooming in. Pan and tilt feature is great, although I only need it looking in the same spot most of the time.
I extended the warranty straight away and received a very quick response and a thankyou from the customer support team.
Very impressed with this camera and would highly recommend it.
Bought this camera to keep an eye on our garage at night. Because we are in a first floor flat, some of the smaller cameras night vision did not see very clear to our garage which is approx 55ft away and 20ft down.
At first when we unboxed it we were surprised at how big it was, but once up it’s not too conspicuous, we got the black one though.
Installed easily, added to the app easily and works well. The night vision with just standard black and white is fantastic, exactly what we needed.
Detection distance during the day is fantastic as well and the image is clear, although not clear enough really to read a number plate at 45ft, but that could be down to the setting in the app, which we are still tweaking. I love the fact it records 24/7 and can also have motion detection alarms sent to my phone.
All in all though a great camera.
I usually donot review products much, but this one felt like I should as its a hidden gem of a product. I purchased a ring stick up cam and it turned out to be a faulty device and had to return it and looked for an alternative. I then purchased this IPcam and felt I should have gone for this in first place so that I could have avoided all the hassle in returning the ring camera. In my opinion if it helps someone else to take a decision, the below features was apt for my needs
1. Easy to install to a outdoor uk socket, just that anchoring to the wall was a bit awkward as I did not have a long screwdriver.
2. Very good picture quality, the HD image is crisp both during day & night.
3. The camhipro app is also good on a IOS device and it works as expected. There are too many options one can play around with and configure whats best.
4. I have installed it in my garden and it perfectly does what I was looking for. I donot regret my decision in purchasing this cam over the ring product.
5. I have a 128gb SD card installed and it records continuosly and as well when there is a motion detected.
6. Once can configure time periods and enable the detection as required.
7. Motion detection was too aggressive as I had it changed from default 50 to 75%. It woke me up in the night, but I then put back to 50 seems all ok.
I went for an ieGeek camera as I have had a couple up and running around the house for some years and have been very happy. I chose this camera as I wanted to be able to scan a wider area than possible with a static camera. Setting it up was much easier than previously, using CamHiPro and the AP Hotspot was really simple and quick. Settings are easy to understand and pictures are clear both day and night.
It took a little effort to get sensitivity sorted and I’m still working on getting spiders to stay away and for the sensor to ignore the arrival of a small flock of pigeons!
A problem with most cameras of this type is the tail line, in particular the RJ45 connector. If not wired, the connector is redundant. It would be nice if it was possible to just chop it off? Or it wasn’t there? Getting it through a hole in a standard waterproof box requires a deal of cutting and slicing of seal and box.
The power port and Reset button fit nicely.
It is also much easier to fit everything into a small weatherproof box by replacing the bulky plug with an inline 12v transformer. There are suitable transformers for less than 10.
Overall, I am very happy with the camera and won’t hesitate to recommend it and the instant customer support response I had to a question.
MORE
After continuing difficulty getting motion detection to stop giving me false alarms, support offered to replace the camera. The replacement camera has behaved perfectly, further reinforcing my opinion about the camera and ieGeek support.
great camera for a budget camera has preset positions also the camera is onvif! when i first got the camera there was a little bit of moisture in the lens but i easily opened the camera and cleaned it out!
Upon arrival the packaging is very professional & the build quality of the camera is very good. Picture and sound for the price you pay is reasonable. However I’d say the one thing that let’s it down is the app control. I believe it’s 3rd party. Alot could be done with the app in regards to navigation, looks and making it more user friendly. However excluding that for the price its a great camera.
This is a great ptz camera for the price, the camera easily connects using WiFi however I decided to have the camera hardwired using a cat6 cable. The first camera I purchased had an issue where it wasn’t connecting to the internet. Only way to make it work was to reset the camera from the mains. I got in touch with igeek and after some communication they agreed to send me a replacement. So far the replacement camera is working as it should, I cannot complain for the price. It does what I wanted it to do and more.
Simplified the best camera, easy functionality, app is brilliant and just total value for money, especially in our tough times atm… 100% recommended no doubts
How on Earth do you connect this camera to wifi ??? I have camera on the wall already and now changed to router. Must be a way to connect it to wifi without ethernet cable.
Bought two of these cameras. They were easy to install and the quality of the picture is fantastic. I would recommend these to anyone with little IT knowledge.
This was so easy to set up. I love the fact that it has an attachment to cover the internet port. Thought that was a nice touch. So far so good. I’m pleased with the security camera.
I would like to say how fantastic Igeek Customer Service is and how quickly they resolved the problem as my camera developed a fault over time of being up. The communication was excellent, they were very helpful and arranged for a replacement to be sent out with apologies. The problem was then resolved. The new camera is up and working perfectly fine. I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received from Customer Services they were 5 Star.
This is an excellent camera for the cost. Full HD quality and wireless it pans and tilts which is a great advantage. The picture quality is excellent both night and day. Recordings can be saved to SD card with excellent playback. Controlling all the functions from your phone app works really well and incorporates many features that are useful to use. The motion detection and auto tracking are a great feature, you can set up in the app to receive push notifications when movement is detected which is a bonus feature. Very pleased with the overall camera and functions it includes. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to purchase an Igeek Camera.
This is the 5th camera I have purchased from Igeek and all the cameras are fantastic I would not buy any other make. With all the features they have they are perfect for what we need.
Sharp picture. Great intelligence. The old version use to jump around at every little movement, this model has the sense to first workout if the movement is just something or someone passing by then if the subject stays in the area of the camera, it will lift and follow accordingly.
At first it was a bit of trial and error to get the set up right as a previous reviewer added about it turning to the wall a lot but after setting some presets it seemed to improve. I found the accessibility of the app when you weren’t home brilliant and I fitted a 128gb micro card to ensure I enough storage for the recordings. I had an issue recently which I contacted igeek for support and they were very helpful and prompt, that I would definitely buy from them again.
I bought this camera for my mothers house. It was easy to set up. Easy to put on both our phones. The picture quality is great. Nothing too complicated. Great service from ieGeek. So good that I have bought a second one for the back of the house.
This camera seems to be working really well. It was easier to set up than expected and is picking up any movement outside of my house. Easy to check on the app and see what is happening, which makes me feel safer when I am not at home. Seems great so far.
For the price I can’t fault this camera. Motion notification is rather too sensitive even at lower settings, so it will react to rain for example. But that’s relatively minor. Setup to Wi-Fi is initially a bit counterintuitive. You have to log into its own network before logging into your own home Wi-Fi. But once done it’s easy. Picture quality is great and control from the app is excellent. Night vision, especially colour is very good.
All in all very pleased with this camera.
As you can see that’s a good view and the picture of it is amazing best money I’ve ever spent in my life plus the night vision is good I can see everything by connecting to my phone
The camera is sturdy. The set up and installation was very straight forward. Sometimes the lens fogs over at night, however, on checking around most cameras do so when the weather and temperatures are adverse. They do the job I wanted and I am pleased.
The supplier was helpful and delivery was quick. Only just installed the cameras and got used to setting etc, however would recommend this camera.
I’ve been using iegeek now for a number of years and for a basic camera with tracking works very well. This is a replacement for a dismally inadequate camera that we had, we only use it to watch our little dog in the garden and to record the foxes digging up the garden and creating havoc
Great buy, very cheap for what it is!..Great pic quality, day and night..the zoom could be a bit better, but it does what I need..easy to set up!..Great app!..
i love this little security camera its installed above my drive you can customise which area of the cameras image you want the camera to alert you to unwanted guest,s theres a timer for when you want the camera to start and stop watching your property you get alerts instantly to your phone when someone is detected plus you can turn the motion detection off if you have left anything in the car so you dont set the alarm off .
you dont need to have the alarm on for it to send you a message i rate this camera 5 out of 5 stars. its well made and worth the money for the peace of mind.
plus the customer service is second to none, i recomend this camera
Excellent quality camera. Very easy to install. App works great, video quality also excellent. Never have a problem with connection and it’s always super responsive. Night Vision & security light are really useful features too.
– instructions are not that easy to follow. YouTube is your friend for advice.
– definitely not plug n play like blink, but they are in a different league as far as cctv goes.
– recommend using cat5 cable and homeplugs if your WiFi is not excellent.
-picture quality is great on HD. Sd is OK, still better than blink.
– it takes micro sd cards…not sd.
One camera wouldn’t boot up properly but was refunded next day and a replacement ordered. (My old blink system had a faulty camera, and it took months to get it swapped with blink)
If you have the time to play, it gives great results.
I always have trust on igeek cameras and this one was just the perfect for the purpose to look after my outside front door. The quality of video is excellent through out day night. I made the good choice for buying it.
Excellent product and customer support.
Will definitely buy again.
Day and night vision is on point, along with human tracking.
Audio is excellent too.
Best to install your SD memory card and scan the QR code before mounting to external wall.
I have bought two of the camera’s after having the suspect somebody jumped on rubbish bin to look into my garden and I am happy with camera’s quality. It is very versatile because gives you a very good quality of images and videos and you are able to surveill every corner of the area you need at a very good price. Another good thing is that you can use wireless or wired connection. Very stabile connection when wired, a bit less stable with wifi but I think all depends on the hub signal and how far you install the camera’s from the hub.
I can say I am very happy with the purchase and feel more safe.
I have three of these and they are very good cameras. Auto tracking very good day and night vision great pictures. I love the security spot light function allowing full colour at night. I had a problem with one of the cameras being too keen and catching too much motion but it was setup the same as the others which were perfect. The technical support was fast and patient waiting for the results of the advice I was given. Problem solved and now the camera catches everything I want it to and no bogus triggers. I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received. The cameras were NOT gifted nor discounted for review. I payed full price for them and I justlokegood products supported with good service.
Originally bought this for the front of my house but found it too sensitive no matter how settings were adjusted. I assume we are too near the main road and replaced at the front of the house with a doorbell camera.
Great camera overall, but I’ve had a few issues. It’s overly sensitive to rain in night mode, it turns to the wall a lot that its mounted on if it rains heavy. Moving branches distract it a lot too. I had to turn off the camera light at night as it came on too much. Its picture quality is great. I’ve had a few remote drop outs when away from house but found it’s still working when home and recording but I have to reboot WiFi, camera to get WiFi connection back. Could be my WiFi bandwidth.
Bought 2 one for back one for front of bungalow. Both were working fine now one has gone offline unable to reset so sent a feedback message as requested no reply as ye
I really like this camera. It was a bit bigger then I thought and I had to put the cables that extend from it into a junction box to hid them from the elements.
Can’t fault these but the only thing that lets them down is the length of the cable. I really struggled connecting the cables via the eaves due to short connectors. Should be 45cm mi
I almost love this camera, but wish I’d spent that little bit more on human motion detection. Image quality is brilliant, night vision and colour vision is great. the only issue was tracking. this camera would pick up trees moving, this would move away from what I wanted to see which was my garden. Almost there but I don’t want to know if my trees move. Go for the human detection camera
My last one just died so bought 2 of these and gave them a go. Omg! For the price they are amazing, if there’s movement or even someone opposite me turns a light on that shines into my place they notify me when I’m at work. They are so sensitive and really worth the money. I’ve got 2 and about to get 2 more. I know they can be used outside but my area is so bad people would nick them or damage so I’ve got them attached to a wall in each room. Night vision in black and white is good and clear and u can have it in HD. But be aware that if u have colour night vision the camera will beam a bright white light all night. I personally prefer black and white. If you’re new to cameras then it’s reasonably easy to set up with smart phone and u can join up more of these cameras easily enough. Definitely worth the price
Firstly I would like to say wot a fantastic company to deal with and customer service is second to none. My first camera was faulty. I got in touch with the seller and a replacement was sent followed by multiple apologies. And resolved promptly. The new camera works flawlessly the picture is full HD quality and wireless range is great. It’s a definite purchase at the right price if ur looking for a pan/tilt ip camera. Combined with greater customer service it’s a win win in my book. Keep up the good work ieGeeK.
I have purchased multiple of these cameras, the app is easy to use, the cameras are simple to set up and the picture quality excellent. I would recommend 100%
Really easy set up works really well over the internet motion is a little over sectice in in setting 1 what the lowest you can set it but over then that a really good by
The night vision is brilliant, didnt expect it to be so clear. The motion also is great, moves about when there’s no one in view as well as when it detects someone.
Product is really good. I did have an issue with the sd card and then having to reboot the camera. This was resolved with a new sd card and with excellent customer support. I emailed numerous times (as not very techy) and they responded very quickly very patiently with what I needed to do step by step.
Just really good customer support with a great produc
This was larger than I expected, but I guess I should have read specification.
Set was easy using the Ethernet cable, I wasn’t successful with wifi.
Was sad the plug was so chunky this doesn’t fit into a UK outdoor socket casing. drilled though garage door frame instead.
Once screwed in place if it drops off line, it can be a pain, had to purchase a 10m cable so I can trouble fix like it drops of Wifi occasionally, so plug in a reboot, easy when you know how! Screwing is is tricky, only used 3 screws, camera unit impedes fixing.
Once above is beaten using either apps are pretty simple, and can look at what’s going on wherever I am.
The picture quality is good, the recordings are very clear, picture quality when watching live can be ok, but recording crisp even at night.
This is a really useful item, get past the set up and fixing. This has given me peace of mind as have looney neighbour causing damage to my property, police recommended getting CCTV to gain proof buying this, a smart card and extra long Ethernet, hopefully a small and wise investment.
Camera is fine, video good quality. I should have purchased one with humanoid detection as this one follows all motion, obviously didn’t realise that. So hence will purchase one with humanoid detection and turn this detection off. App was a little annoying, but now seemed to have got boss of it All in all good value for money .
After having item stolen off my driveway I decided to fit security camera I purchased this after previously fitting one for my daughter I was quite impressed with theirs.
Easy as 1,2,3, to set up ( wished I’d bought the SD card with it). Great picture day and night (can’t believe how good night vision is).
There great value for the money
Firstly, if you cannot get this to work the problem probably lies with you not reading the manual.
BEFORE BUYING:
Decide if you will connect it to your router via a LAN cable or WiFi.
If WiFi:
Get as close to where you want to put the camera and check the 2.4GHz WiFi signal strength. (The App Airport Utility from Apple is perfect for this. Download app and then ‘WiFi Scan’ then ‘scan’. You’re looking for your WiFi ID and channel 1-31).
If you can’t pick up your WiFi IDthe camera won’t work via WiFi in that location unless you do something like add a booster etc.
Download the app.
With the camera near your router, connect the LAN cable. Add the camera by scanning the label on top. Remove the LAN cable. Fit the camera and done.
It’s easy to use, move, zoom. Night vision can be based on a PIR light being activated on the camera. This then gives a colour display.
Movement alerts and alarms are all adjustable.
Works equally well from Laptop with added bonus of more storage for recording (if you wish).
I liked it so much a bought a second one for the front!
Item was twice the size expected, we had cancelled the order originally as this one was ordered in error, (didn’t want wired CCTV), but item was still dispatched within 2 hours of cancelling , we got the one ordered and this one , and actually prefer this one over the other , and we are thinking of ordering another at a later date
i have a few IGeek cameras and as long as you set them up correctly and (PLEASE PLEASE) change the default password they work really well , this functions as a proper IP camera so works with a range of DVR software , the motion tracking can be a bit hit and miss especially in windy weather with plants moving but this can be tweaked ,it also has a night mode or colour option which flicks the light on the front , nice camera.
Great product, just 2 things to bear in mind. It’s very difficult to get all 4 screws into the wall as the camera itself doesn’t allow a straight angle to tighten screws. Best to fit to a piece of wood first whilst im a workshop and then attach this to the wall. Lastly make sure you’re WiFi signal is strong enough otherwise you’ll regularly lose connection. Other than that it’s a great product at a great price.
I bought this as a means of monitoring unusual activity around the front of my house. I liked the idea of the ptz and that images can be recorded and played back without removing the SD card.
I don’t like the mounting. Unlike another camera I have, this one is permanently fixed to the wall whereas the other one has a single screw fixing to a bracket, so it’s easy to remove if I need to clean it or access the SD card.
The SD card is very temperamental and I’ve bought a new one as recommended by iegeek. I’ve yet to install it.
A really nice feature is I can do everything on my home pc too, as well as recording all day and all night whether there is an alarm or not.
The intelligent tracking and alarm sensitivity leaves a lot to be desired, but in essence it works.
I would recommend this for home use and I fully intend to buy another to complete the security cameras around my property.
Picture quality is good, night vision is good, sensitivity to movement is too much and there are a lot of false alarms.
For the price it’s probably as good as you can get. The picture quality is okay, struggles with reg plates however when it’s dark. Easy to view footage on the app when in the same Wi-Fi network, but doesn’t seem to like it when I try accessing using mobile data and disconnects. The alarm and motion capture/highlight/notification features are useless however as even when adjusting the sensitivity floating particles/dust in the air can trigger them. Serves its purpose but will ultimately be replaced when I can justify spending more on a better system.
Quick & easy to setup. Impressed by the picture quality for the price. The tracking could be abit quicker! The instructions abit clearer but my main issue is the motion detection seems to record all day & night even on the lowest sensitivity setting, So 99% of the footage has no movement!
After much research I purchased this camera as opposed to any other make or model. It seemed to offer the best compromise for a low price.
My research paid off, this is truly a very good camera for the money. It takes a bit of patience setting up but once done everything works fine via WiFi. The image quality day or night is excellent. You can view images on your phone or PC. You can set up specific times (using CamHipro) in the day or night when you wish the camera to record and or send alarm notifications to your phone. You can also download videos or snapshots to your phone.
I found ieGeek Customer Service to be quick and helpful when I had a minor problem using the CamHipro App.
I set up the camera with an adjacent waterproof box to house the three leads so I can access the LAN socket, power socket and the reset button without removing the camera from the wall.
I thoroughly recommend this camera.
I have bought two of these cameras some months ago and they are switched off as I simply can’t understand them. The instructions and also the software suggested both presumably use a translator from Chinese to English which to me means they are incomprehensible. I can see the cameras on smartphone, but they record continually to sd card, impossible to change / understand the motion sensitivity etc changes. And can’t set to follow movement eg a person or animal. ieGeek did respond twice to emails, but can’t understand those either. So many being sold in UK, I’m sure they are amazing cameras but just need proper instruction and software for mobile + pc.
Very well packaged, complete with all cables including screwdriver and user manual. Very robust structure. As this is now our 5th CCTV from Igeek, we already have the CammHipro App for control of the camera, such as settings, alarm, planned recordings and viewing. First job is to reset the camera before attempting to connect to the network, use the reset button attached to the camera on the end of the cable. It’s a good idea to insert the micro SD card with the screwdriver supplied with the CCTV, perfect fit to the screw. When you connect the camera to the mains some movement occurs, when it has finished press the reset button, you will hear a tune indicating it’s resetting. Connect with the ethernet cable to the hub . Open CammHipro App and add new camera as detailed in the manual. Once connected with new password etc. set date and time. Wait till settings have taken place. Now unplug ethernet cable to go wi-fi. All is good after a little while, perfect high quality picture, choose position of view or put intelligent tracking on. This camera is very impressive and it’s the second one of this model we’ve bought with 360 degrees. Also very good night vision. I wouldn’t buy any other and I highly recommend it. Igeek are always there to assist if needed.
This is a great camera. It arrived well packaged with everything you need to install it, including a clear and comprehensive instruction manual in well written English. This takes you through the setup process step by step and when combined with the CamHipro app it makes the setup process very quick and easy. I carried out the initial setup using the supplied ethernet cable and then added the wifi connection. Using this method it shouldn’t take longer than 5 – 10 mins to setup.
The camera itself looks very well built and is IP66 rated, which I need as the camera is positioned outside. The picture quality is excellent both at night and during the day with good range and clarity, whether in SD or HD, and recordings can be saved to an SD card inside the camera.
I have another security camera which is static and this camera is larger but has the significant benefit of being able to rotate and control the pitch through the app by swiping your finger across the image. It’s very responsive and a great feature. As I use the camera outside, the motion detection and auto tracking function are a clever and really useful feature, and you can set the app up to receive a push notification when movement is detected. Apparently, it includes a siren to scare away intruders and two way audio, but I’ve not tried this yet and the two way audio is not a feature I need, but others might.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the camera quality and the functions it includes. The integration with the app works really well and incorporates many features that are useful for my use, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a controllable security camera.
This is the second iGeek camera I have purchased. I have found with iGeek cameras I get reliable connection between the app and the camera compared with other makes of cameras I have owned. Also their customer service is friendly and efficient.
This new IE20 360 security camera is bigger than my previous one but that’s because it has the ability to rotate in two planes. When I read that it can rotate 360 I didn’t fully believe it, but it can literally see all around itself.
Setting up this camera was a breeze. There is no need to connect the supplied ethernet cable. You simply switch the camera on and then find its wi-fi signal on your phone – then you enter the supplied password and once connected you can supply your home wi-fi network settings (password, etc) to the camera and it’s all done! Once you have installed the CamHiPro app on your phone you can see the camera feed and adjust various settings such as quality (HD or SD) and colour or B/W night vision. You can move the camera up and down or left and right by swiping on your phone screen. You can also zoom in.
The image quality in all modes is excellent. I was particularly impressed with the colour night vision. Colours are rendered accurately even when there is hardly any light (see photo).
From the app, you can also enable, individually, the microphone (to hear what the camera hears) and the speaker (to be able to speak to callers, intruders etc)
To use the CamHiPro app on my PC I use BlueStacks 5 Android emulator. This allows me to monitor my cameras on my PC monitor, to save my phone battery.
Really I am completely happy with these iGeek cameras. They work exactly as I expect, without any hassle.
Nice camera for the price, I was originally going to purchase the battery with solar panel version but realized that didn’t have 24/7 loop recording (what’s the point of a security camera if it doesn’t loop)
So opted for this, exceeded my expectations love the quality, I was using a Amazon blink for a while and just got tired of how slow it is to connect when I want to check on my motorbike, also the constant network or connection problems. This gives you live feed within 5 second of tapping it’s control app.
All round great basic security camera
Two things I need to address
First the password isn’t admin, try 01234567 instead
Second the auto Motion tracking function is a joke I tried walking around the camera, yeah it does work but the object/person had to be strolling to be captured, and as it follows it almost always turns into the wall and stays there, so imagine if there was a moment you actually needed footage for But found out later that your camera decided to face the wall instead my suggestion would be to just leave that function off and stick with the normal manual positioned mode.
Initially very easy to set up using the supplied Ethernet cable and the ‘phone app, however setting the motion detection zones on the ‘phone app seem to have no effect on restricting the alarms from unwanted areas. Even having the sensitivity down at 2% (yes, two) results in multiple triggers from supposedly screened-off areas.
The supplied manual is VERY basic and not helpful in any way as to understanding the terminology to the uninitiated however it does get you started. As usual with oriental documentation, the English translation leaves much to be desired.
The real downside is the HiP2P software for use with a PC. The help files attached with this are very cryptic and explain things even less than the supplied booklet. Fortunately the manufacturer does respond quickly to emails with the offer to trouble-shoot the “problems” on your PC remotely if one supplies one’s password (hmm – not sure about that thank you!). They did send me some links to videos “showing” how to set things up (with NO voice-overs) which if run in slow motion do give some guidance – but why don’t they post links to them publicly?
Setting the motion detection zones on the HiP2P software seems somewhat more effective than the ‘phone app although movement well outside the chosen areas still causes unwanted triggers.
The lack of “Humanoid” detection is a big let-down; if it rains overnight you’ll wake to find a series of alarm triggers for the whole duration of rainfall i.e. 15 second videos at up to 4 per minute times 60 per hour over a 6 hour shower could result in 1400+ separate videos! Try searching for something in that!
The PC software does have a tendency to “stall” (for want of better description), although that doesn’t affect the operation of the camera, and if the “Tracking” mode is selected it seems to “wander off” occasionally on its own for no apparent reason (possibly birds or insects?)
All things considered, the camera’s not too bad but is let down by abysmal software and virtually useless help files.
Update 28 March 2022
After several emails to IEGeek regarding issues using the PC app & and its awful “help” files and problems with motion detection ureliability, it seems that my camera is defective. IEGeek have been excellent in trying to help and have now sent me a replacement camera to try.
Changed my review to 4 stars; if the software was improved – especially the instructions, it’d be 5.
Nevertheless, it represents pretty good value for money.
I needed to replace an older camera and after looking at reviews I opted for the iGeek 360 outdoor camera and certainly wasn’t disappointed. Very easy to install and link to my iPhone and iPad and stunning images even at night. Had a slight issue connecting to my PC but an email to the iGeek support team resolved this in an easy-to-understand manner.
I am going to replace the camera at the rear of our home with another iGeek 360 as its sooooo gooood.
Very easy to set up if you follow the instructions. You have to name each camera at the start of the setup… I have four now. Brilliant things you can operate from anywhere that you can get a phone signal.
I have a lot of these, albeit white ones and other ieGeek models but they all have the same problem – installation especially out of easy reach. I have reviewed already but here is my hot tip based on experience!
They can be a nightmare and even dangerous to install – wobbling at the top of a ladder, trying to drill tiny holes in just the right place then trying with one hand to tighten the tiny screws into the impossible to reach holes behind the cowling whilst trying not to drop the camera with they other hand. As for steadying yourself up that ladder…. forget it! The tiny screws often end up having stripped heads because of having to screw them in from an angle into wood that’s hardened with age or worse still plugs in stone walls.
So, I don’t even try any more! I make up mounts to which I firmly attach the cameras in comfort before screwing the mount in place, using only two human sized screws that can easily be turned with a human sized screwdriver without damage or being a contortionist.
Pics are self explanatory, of course the actual mount will depend on the installation. This one if for under the eaves.
I bought this camera in 2021 and it is still working very well. The quality of the video is superb, the tracking works well and it was easy to install. I can view the video anywhere in the world on my phone. I had to ask for customer support with some technical things I didn’t understand and they were very responsive and helpful, replies were received the same or next day.
I would recommend this security camera 100% it is a great device.
We had this camera because so we could keep a eye on our dogs at night when they go out for wee as there is two many dog snatches around would recommend to anyone
Bought for my daughter to cover her drive. Better picture than I expected and using the HiCam app I could monitor it from anywhere.
The cables can be a chew. So bulky. You could tidy them by feeding them into a jb I suppose but the reset lead is one of them.
I set it up in the house before mounting it outside. Seems to pick up the wifi signal ok. Have had no problems so far. Cant be robbed for the price.
The first camera sent had to be rebooted every week or so because it dropped off my network.
Slow support from iegeek turned out to be Covid related. When they did get back to me they sent a new Camera which arrived in 2 days and they couldn’t help me enough to make sure it worked ok. This was very much appreciated.
The new camera has been running for a month with no issues at all; connectivity and all functions (PTZ and video views and downloads) are working brilliantly.
Very happy I stuck with iegeek, I can’t fault their support.
Brilliant camera for the price works well in all weathers can be a bit sensitive in the wind with motion sensor but the rest is good great picture quality in day and night and quick response when somebody is out there and easy to install
This camera is a good deterrent to any scallywags. Highly visable on the wall and looks like a quality device. I have 2 other igeek cameras so it was very easy to install this and link it to the same app as the others. Set up took 5 mins when connecting to Wifi router with the supplied lead. Good picture quality and a loud speaker should you wish to communicate with any trespassers.
I already had a 10mm hole from another project that was spare so the power cable passed through very easy and saved some ladder work. setting up on my phone using CamHi Pro was straight forward and now have it working via my laptop with the HiP2P client program which gives you a whole lot more control over the camera. So impressed that I am going to buy another cam for the rear garden.
I played around with the camera first before installation outside and connected it all together with a LAN cable first then made sure the wi-fi was working ok. I found that by moving my router about 2ft up I didn’t get any wi-fi dropout as essentially where the camera is the signal goes through 2 walls now all is ok. Full PZ control with two way audio is also included. The HiP2P client software ( free download) also has a very good ‘help’ file
From unboxing the camera to connecting and setting up took all of 5 minutes. Everything throughout set up was straight forward.
The camera feels good quality and hopefully will resist the harsh weather that we encounter where I live.
The image quality far exceeds the image of the camera it has replaced.
The motion sensing can be a little over sensitive even with the sensitivity turned down to 1 but after a few days it seems to settle down, particularly after adjusting the sensitivity and then rebooting the camera and app.
For the price this camera is excellent and I will be purchasing more to cover other areas of my property.
First thing to do is download hicam pro it only works with this app properly i had hicam and could not get it to focus in nor zoom in so i installed hicampro and managed to set it up and working in minutes so download app then plug ethernet cable into back of router doesnt matter if you have to unplug something else for a few minutes whilst you set the camera up open app and add camera install camera by scanning the barcode on top of camera should then set up itself you will need to go into settings and change password a capital letter small letters and a number should now be working unplug camera and set aside check if its wifi is connected to your internet if so unplug from mains and then install where you want it when you replug it in it should automatically connect to your wifi internet connection took me about 7 minutes from start to finish plus time to fit outside on house great picture has motion tracking and also has 4 led lights and they are very bright the night vision is also great you can disable the led lights in the settings or leave them on so when the camera catches you are someone else entering the area your protecting the area is lit up i am very impressed with this camera only thing i worry about is its plastic and i have no idea how long it will last so that is why i have given it only 4 stars but i am so impressed i am going to purchase 2 more for my sons house just hope i get 2 years out of them then i will be a very happy bunny
Delivery as usual with Prime.
Hope this helps someone! ..
Easy to set up,works well! Happy with this product, thanks.
Really good quality camera.
Easy to install *with a drill for the wall*
Followed instructions easily.
How on Earth do you connect this camera to wifi ??? I have camera on the wall already and now changed to router. Must be a way to connect it to wifi without ethernet cable.
Used to monitor front of house. Night vision in colour excellent.
Bought two of these cameras. They were easy to install and the quality of the picture is fantastic. I would recommend these to anyone with little IT knowledge.
Smart camera, easy to set up. You even get a free little screwdriver. App is working fine. Im happy with this.
This is a good detection camera, the footage and vision is clear, especially the night vision.
Coverage is wide and captures objects quickly.
Highly recommend excellent picture we installed having had our car stolen nearby neighbours appreciate us having it as well
Great little camera for the money easy to use and set up love i
The camera is sturdy.
Using the camera for rear garden to spy on wildlife etc. It’s good quality build. Still got to get used to it but so far so good.
As the title states, both the camera and the customer service are excellent. Can’t fault either. Really happy with my purchase, 5 stars all around.
I use this in my back yard and it is great as it covers the whole area. The camera is super clear and also acts like a light at nigh
Fantastic for keeping watch over garden, car and doorways . So easy to set up .
I always have trust on igeek cameras and this one was just the perfect for the purpose to look after my outside front door. The quality of video is excellent through out day night. I made the good choice for buying it.
Motion sensitivity is a little too sensitive, had to switch notifications off, other than that it’s a great camera.
Easy to set up on the app and good quality images
I’ve purchased a few cameras over the last year or two and this is the best Indian most reliable so far.
Worked great on WiFi straight out of the box
Liked everything about the cameras easy to fit and plug and play
Night vision fantastic picture quality excellent would strongly recommend this camera
Very good camera with night vision and picture quality, easy to set up. Excellent customer support from ieGeek team. Happy with my purchase.
I have purchased multiple of these cameras, the app is easy to use, the cameras are simple to set up and the picture quality excellent. I would recommend 100%
Great product. Good value for money. Motion detection feature is brilliant.
I did have a problem with my camera. But Keith in igeek. Sorted my problem. Thanks very much, very happy customer.
Really easy set up works really well over the internet motion is a little over sectice in in setting 1 what the lowest you can set it but over then that a really good by
Instructions hard to follow. Not able to fully install unit yet. Mostly written in Chinese/engliish
Very easy to set up view files as required.
Lots of cameras out there. This was quite cheep in comparison. Does the job of more expensive camaras..
But on the whole, a good buy.
Hope someone find this bit of feedback helpful
Not to lmpressed with the motion detection. The full colour is good
Very easy to set up if you follow the instructions. You have to name each camera at the start of the setup… I have four now. Brilliant things you can operate from anywhere that you can get a phone signal.
Once you get the software drivers sorted out you are away.
Night vision is great. It is very clear picture. The picture quality is a very good as well.
Great quality build, great picture and sound. Needed to use ethernet link as wifi link was intermittent. But its worth every penny
Ease of use but the password is not what it is on the box
The first camera sent had to be rebooted every week or so because it dropped off my network.
Slow support from iegeek turned out to be Covid related. When they did get back to me they sent a new Camera which arrived in 2 days and they couldn’t help me enough to make sure it worked ok. This was very much appreciated.
The new camera has been running for a month with no issues at all; connectivity and all functions (PTZ and video views and downloads) are working brilliantly.
Very happy I stuck with iegeek, I can’t fault their support.
Great security camera no issues only thing is dosent connect to alexa
