Very convenient to take the ipad a step closer to a laptop! Increases productivity and expands the overall use of my ipad. The bluetooth connection is stable and works without problems. The stand is sturdy;keeps well the angle. Only the detaching of the keyboard is quite a hassle to pull it out hard and then to push it again so i don’t do that, instead i just turn off the keyboard and can use it as a stand when i want the ipad in a tablet mode. Overall a nice product for a reasonable price, so i am happy with it!

Well worth it at this price point. I have been looking around at a few different models of Bluetooth keyboard for my IPad Pro 12.9 and obviously anyone who has done their research will know that the prices vary from the original IPad models to less expensive options. After reading reviews I chose the Inatek backlit model and I am so glad that I did.

    Pros.
. It fits the iPad perfectly
. Connects easily to the iPad via Bluetooth (the pair key is the delete key, top right)
. Feels very solid and looks smart
. The stand is very solid and holds very firm
. Battery life is amazing thanks to the back lights turning off during no use.

    Con
The only thing is, it’s quite heavy with the iPad together. This for me doesn’t matter but may for some.

Wow, awesome quality Apple alternative Bluetooth keyboard

This keyboard is far superior to the apple keyboard I had. Charging is quick and the charge last me a few day. The backlit keyboard is very good and for me the build quality is good. Great value as far as I am concerned.
One small issue is it is not so good when resting in your lap so a locking system of some kind would be good to allow better stability when not using on a desk or table for support.

It’s not bad for the money but the battery runs down in the keyboard very quickly.

Fits the iPad perfectly and keeps it secure.
Keyboard and Bluetooth connectivity is second to none and the lighting on the backlit keyboard is amazing and customisable in so many ways. Totally worth the price

As the Apple keyboards continue to demand such high prices, there is certainly a gap in the market for products at a more reasonable price.
This Inateck keyboard and mouse does an excellent job of turning your Ipad into the laptop. Typing with this keyboard is smooth too and there is virtually no typing lag.
To save power the backlights can be turned off, and this does increase the longevity of the battery. The Ipad slides into the case easily like a portfolio, this then doubles up into an Ipad stand when wanting to watch movies etc. You can then flip the Ipad and use the keyboard seamlessly.
There is also a Ipad pencil slot for when you are not using it.
I certainly recommend this product, the cost alone makes purchase this device a more viable option. The last time I looked at purchasing the Apple keyboard for this version of Ipad, it was 199, you could almost by a new laptop for that.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt beats the Apple Slim Folio by being only one third of the cost
Apple does not have an Illuminated Keyboard and fails to make optimum use of those Keys. From a Protection POV Apples offering is laughable.

It whips the Logitech Slim Folio by being less than half the cost. Keyboard feel is a personal choice but bang for bucks Inateck wins. Choices of Illumination Brightness and Colours are better on the Inateck. Logitech has a near flatScreen position for Drawing but it’s implementation is a disaster, it rocks and rolls and just keeps on rocking. OK for folk capable of producing Fine Art in a small boat at sea during a storm?
Inateck has a unique feature in that the Keyboard is completely detachable This means that the keys do not have to be placed face down onto any surface, kind or unkind to their finish or longevity. Even soft finishes have problems with debris and dust, neither good for Key Mechanisms. With the Keyboard detached it leaves me free to use a really solid iPad Stand to support it properly for use when Drawing in 3D. Attached or Detached the Keyboard can be charged via a Connecting Cable, and it can be used while Charging.
The Keyboard has a very nice simple means of either being used flat on a Desk or with a slight slope selectable by a small movement.
Actual use of the Inateck is magic, it returns many of the facilities users enjoy with Computer Keyboards, reducing the need to touch and gesticulate to achieve the results needed.

Pronounced Corner Bumpers would not be everyones choice, but I know what to choose when it comes to proper protection, Inateck loves iPads.
The Built In Stand is sturdy and has 3 angled positions and doubles as a Portrait mode viewer also, plus of course being able to lay flat.

The quality and finish of the Inateck is excellent and the apparent cost of getting something mildly preferable to touch is a massive rip off. I prefer to get real and pay less for a superb product more than capable of doing a better job at a pocket friendly cost.
I have not tested the protection afforded by the Inateck and hope not to do so, but would still recommend this cost effective quality item as a first choice.
Having read Reviews stating that a Mini USB Connecting Cable is not supplied I have to say this is no longer true.
One improvement that Inateck could make would be to change the Mini USB for the C Type Connector as fitted to the iPad. Hardly a deal breaker but it would be a sensible upgrade.

Inateck shames both Apple and Logitech by offering more features for less than half the cos

All round impressed! Decent design looks good (like a gaming keyboard)

Tactile wise it’s perfect for myself, nice response when pressing the buttons.

Case is made well with the image I wanted, protection level seems good although I refuse to throw my new ipad on the floor for you haha!

Pencil charges well and fits in place also in slot provided when required to transport.

Fits well, I fitted from the top being entered first, although tight its a perfect fittment.

Although I can’t see many people balancing such a small diameter device on their legs I’ve seen this being asked Alot!

If you wish to do so it is possible, just not the most comfortable or reliable positions to balance 1300 quid.

I’ve rated 5 star, I’ve not tested battery time but I can’t see it being an issue. Other state 60-100 days, personally for the back-lit features I’m happy to charge as I do the device it self.

Love the way it all fits together and it is possible to flip down the leading edge of the keyboard when it is closed to check the battery level, rather than having to open the keyboard. The only minor thing was that the space key was a bit sticky at first but has freed out with use. Excellent value!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersPROS:

    1) Nice definite keyboard action
    2) All over great protection for the iPad
    3) A DELETE KEY! APPLE TAKE NOTE
    4) Function buttons
    5) Home and End Cursor Buttons
    6) Backlit Keys (with multiple colour combinations or single colour illumination)
    7) Detachable keyboard
    8) Separate concealed Storage and Provision for charging Apple Pencil
    9) Angled keyboard.
    10) Improves grip when using iPad as a tablet.

    CONS:
    1) Overall footprint size when typing (41cm (16in)) long!
    2) Size makes it inconvenient to type on your lap
    3) Weight (around 1.5kgs (3lbs approx)
    4) Tactlie feel of material used (I’ll explain this in the main text!)
    5) Apple version is spill proof, this Inateck is not.

THIS WOULD HAVE RECEIVED 4.75 STARS IF POSSIBLE.

I am typing this on the Inateck Keyboard. My Apple smart portfolio keyboard is in its box and going to be sold online. Initially, after owning the Apple version since December 2018, it took a while to adjust to the key spacing of the Inateck. The keys are smaller with what feels to be less space between them. However, after using this for a week, I am now used to it and can touch type at a reasonable speed. I am still not up to full speed, but it’s good enough now.

The Inateck Backlit Keyboard 2006 as you can see is a fraction of the 199 Apple charges for its keyboard case. The Apple has no backlighting and offers minimal protection. I dropped my iPad when it was in the Apple keyboard case, thankfully the screen didn’t break. However, now I have a flattened corner radius and the screen is very slightly proud of the metal surround. I have absolutely no doubt that had it been in this Inateck, there would have been absolutely no damage at all. Apple persistently and deliberately engineers failure into its products, to the point where I will never by another iPhone or iPad. I will however, be getting myself another Mac, since OSX is infinitely easier and better to use than the joke that is Windows!

Coming back to this case, the keyboard is excellent. The key travel is perfect and the clicking noise is good auditory feedback that you have actually pressed a key. The Apple is virtually silent with minimal travel. I constantly found myself missing letters when typing on the Apple, even though I know I pressed the appropriate key. The additional buttons/keys on the Inateck raise it head and shoulders above the Apple keyboard case. It’s only last year that Apple managed to fit a delete key to its premium laptop range the MacBook Pro. It did this with great pomp and proclamation as if it had invented the idea of a delete key. Then this is why I am peed off with Apple. Every time they change something or bring a new version, it takes a massive hike in price. The Apple Smartfolio Keyboard Case is a complete and utter waste of money, don’t buy it.

The Inateck consists of two separate pieces. The keyboard and a case. The case wraps around the bezel of the screen offering some extra protection to the screen from abrasion if placed face down. There are substantial bumpers at each corner and a profiled section on the top edge for the Apple Pencil to recharge. There’s also a brilliant concealed space for the pencil to be transported together. I used to keep the iPad and Pencil separately in my laptop bag. Now they are always together. The keyboard has a perfect angle (for my hands and wrists) which makes the typing a lot less stress on your wrists. The Apple keyboard is completely flat.

There is one bad point which I removed 0.25 of a Star for….and this is important. If you are looking to type on your lap more than you type at a desk, then this flaw will break the deal: The keyboard and case, when propped into the typing position(s) is ridiculously long. I measured the length from the support edge to the edge of the keyboard as 41cm (16in). This makes it impossible to comfortably type on your lap. You have to fold the front flap (in front of the keyboard) and wedge the support between your knees. This obviously reduces the functionality of the Inateck. You can type on the Apple version comfortably, but with the persistent worry that the iPad is going to topple. The Apple Keyboard is only ever truly stable on a desk.

The Inateck is brilliant on a desk, and it’s mostly how I would type on the keyboard anyway. My son bought me a multiway folding stand for working in bed. The Inateck has absolutely no chance of fitting on it. The solution is to put a large, flat book or piece of card underneath the keyboard to allow it to fit (you could do this on your lap too, but why bother?) One good point because of the flexible nature of the keyboard attachment to the case is, that you can fold the keyboard onto the case so you can use it as a tablet for occasional use. If you will use the iPad Pro as a tablet for longer periods you can separate the case and keyboard. A positive of this is that you can still use the keyboard when not attached to the case. This could be useful if you mount your iPad Pro in a stand at eye level, then you can have a more ergonomic position for typing. If you want to watch something, you can fold the keyboard behind and open the supports to give a more sturdy ipad to watch on.

The Inateck offers useful functuality with the extra keys. Besides the delete key, there’s provision to turn sound up and down, and screen brightness. This minimises the amount of times you need to touch the screen. In fact, when the keyboard is separated from the case, and you are watching something in tablet mode, the volume buttons and the construction of the case means you never inadvertently press the power button, which used to always happen when increasing volume before. There are keys on the keyboard for cutting and pasting (and copying). There’s also a button to lock the ipad and one that brings up the onscreen keyboard. This particularly useful if you have other language keyboards installed. My wife is Russian and my iPad has a Russian virtual keyboard installed. When I press the virtual keyboard key on the Inateck, I can visually map what each key press is in Russian on this UK keyboard.
A down side of the Inateck is the fact that as a traditional keyboard rather than the all covered Apple version, it’s difficult to clean unless you use a vacuum or an aerosol to blast the debris/dust out of the keyboard.

The backlight multicolour for me is something of a gimmick. It tends to appeal more to females (and no, it’s not sexist, it’s based in fact from all the females that have seen my new keyboard, including my wife). I have it set at just purpley blue cross all zones. It’s possible to have 3 different zones with 3 different colours and to have your colours pulsating too. WHY? It just wastes the built in battery! I have no idea how long the battery in the Inateck lasts. This was never a worry with the Apple since it had a direct physical link to the iPad rather than a bluetooth. I have used this keyboard probably for a total of 2 hours over the last week and it’s still going. However, the real test is if and when I create a long document and am typing continuously. As soon as I have done this, I will update the review.

In conclusion, if you will spend more time typing at a desk or table, rather than on your lap, the Inateck Backlit iPad Pro 3rd gen Keyboard Case is the best value for money case on the market. All other cases are more expensive and in the Apple version, nearly 3 times as much for a quarter of the functionality. Even with the flaw in the size of the typing mode, I still wholeheartedly recommend this Inateck keyboard case. BUY IT! IT’s DOTTORE APPROVED!

Absolutely fantastic case. Strong and sturdy with a great looking keyboard that also feels good when typing. It took me a while to get it connected via Bluetooth but once its been synced it’ll connect fast every time you switch it on. The battery seems to last forever, bought it at the end of June 2019 and I’ve only had to charge it twice since and its used daily and i sometimes forget to switch it off but it’ll go into sleep mode as to not drain the battery.

My only issue is that while it has a groove on the side where you charge the Pencil i have to press it fairly hard onto the iPad due to the case in order for it to turn on or charge.

Couldn’t recommend it anymore, don’t worry about the price tag as once you receive it you truly wont regret buying this and will feel like you got a real bargain.

This really surprised me, most cases I’ve tried in the past have been cheap plastic and break with a slight knock. This case is far more flexible and fits the iPad Pro really well.

The keyboard is reliable and the colours make this stand out.

If you’re looking forward to working at one spot then this is perfect. It’s sturdy and the keyboard is really great. Although I realized it was not for me because I travel a lot. And it is too heavy, it adds like almost 1kg to my iPad Pro that I felt like I was carrying a rather thick laptop.

  25. montana mama says:

Much better featured and less than half the price of the Apple folio keyboard for the iPad Pro, this keyboard should be a winner. There’s nothing wrong with it per se, especially at the price, but the Apple keyboard is much better to live with. The Inateck is heavier, gaudier, and the keys don’t have the nice response of the Apple original. The Apple keyboard certainly looks very expensive for what it is, but it’s surprisingly good in use, and I can happily type away on it all day without any fatigue. This keyboard is better for those who only need to use the keyboard very occassionally – perhaps those who have bought the iPad Pro as an art device. For those using the iPad Pro for writing tasks, I would suggest you look elsewhere. The original is perfectly suited to the iPad Pro, and the Logitech Folio Keyboard makes the device more like a full-on laptop (although it adds a lot of weight, and is twice the price of the Inateck).

Ladies and gentlemen, this keyboard is absolutely EXACTLY what I was looking for, providing a great amount of protection whilst offering a huge amount of functionality is just PERFECT.

It beats both the Logitech and Apple keyboard which in my opinion are the only other two real contenders here.

If I were to have one gripe, its quite heavy with the IPad inside but I don’t plan on it being anywhere other than on a table, my lap or in my bag so weight really isn’t an issue. For a keyboard with this much protection and functionality you can’t really expect it to be too lightweight, in all honesty its only 50 grams heavier than the Logitech and 300 grams heavier than the Apple keyboard cases.

Absolutely 5 stars, hats off Inateck, you took everything that was great about the Logitech Smart Folio pro and made it 10x better. Bravo.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a nice idea and with the docking faciity for the Apple pencil it fits the bill. The keyboard is nice to use and for emails and letter writing so much better than the on screen key board. it converts the I Pad Pro into a useful mac laptop.
The keyboard section is removable to tmake the tablet more useable. There are 2 issues with this item, 1) it makes teh pro very heavy, alright at home but to lug about, not good. 2) it only folds to landscape mode although the literature suggested it could be used in portrait mode. It does not fold to a screen supporting portait mode.
Nice unit but with the above reservations.

This back lighted keyboard is really well made, love the colour changing back lighting which can be turned off, I have tested this on a few I-pads including the 2018 12.9 in 3rd gen which it is designed for, my I-pad which is in the photos is a 2nd gen 12.9 which is quite a bit larger just to show how sturdy this keyboard case is, I have also tested it with my old I-pad 2 and works just as good, the keyboard is easily detachable from the case so can be used as a stand alone keyboard.
My girlfriends 12.9 3rd gen I-pad fits the case very well, me and my girlfriend have used this for a few weeks without any problems, it is an easy connection by bluetooth, just one button to connect, don’t seem to have any drop of signal to the I-pad, this is a very nice back lit keyboard case, it cam well packed and was quick delivery, recommended item and seller.

After reviewing the Inateck bluetooth keyboard for iPad Pro 11″, I wanted to review its upgrade – The Inateck bluetooth keyboard case for iPad Pro 12.9″ – 2018 version.

The 12.9 inch Inateck Keyboard case is a lot larger than its predecessor and with its bluetooth keyboard, it turns your Ipad into a stylish looking laptop in seconds.

It comes with a USB charging cable inside, its manual is easy to comprehend and outlines how to set it up with its many commands.

    Size Compatibility:

This will only fit the iPad pro 12.9. Inateck has other case sizes for iPads using a similar keyboard. Although this is the newer 3rd generation keyboard, which is both bigger and comes with a wrist rest.

The case is detachable from the keyboard therefore you can attach other cases to this keyboard as long as it fits the strip. Although the new wrist rest makes the keyboard larger, meaning your third party case might not level up with it when its closed over.

    Charging:

The keyboard can be charged by a standard phone cable or by the cable which comes with it.

The battery life has improved ever so slightly, these are the stats I was able to collect according to the manual and experience.

    Inateck 12.9″ keyboard stats:

    – Battery life with backlight: 10 hours.
    – Battery life without backlight: 282 hours (11.5 days).
    – Charge time: 3-4 hours.
    – Effective bluetooth range: 10 metres.

    Inateck 11″ keyboard stats:
    – Battery life with backlight: 7 hours
    – Battery life without backlight: 192 hours
    – Charge time: 2-3 hours.
    – Effective bluetooth range10 metres

As you can see, being a bigger keyboard it requires a longer charging time, although lasts an additional 90 minutes compared to its predecessor.

    Bluetooth Compatibility:

The Keyboard uses bluetooth v 3.0.
After testing the keyboard with various iPads, it appears that its bluetooth is still compatible with iPads from the 1st generation and beyond. In other words, any iPad can connect to it.

    Case Features:

The case is made from a high quality but lightweight, rubber material which acts as a sturdy layer of protection for your iPad if you ever drop it. The case is a lot thicker than its predecessor and feels like you are holding a rubberised laptop in your hand.

The case comes with a pen holder slot for your iPad and features a magnetic strip behind its stand for weight bearing in its different viewing angle modes. Not much has changed about the magnetic strip other than it seems to be stronger to support its bigger size.

The case has several viewing modes such as laptop mode, book reading mode and movie viewing mode as seen in the pictures I provided, which makes watching Netflix in bed, browsing the internet and other activities extra comfortable.

    Keyboard & Features:

The keyboard is both stylish, low key and comes with fully customisable RGB. Take advantage of its back lit keyboard if you wish.

The keys on the keyboard are similar to the butterfly keys you would find on an apple keyboard and provides a lot of travel between each key, a lot more than its predecessor, therefore apple users will feel at home using this keyboard.

The keyboard features useful function keys such as

    – A lock button to lock the iPad
    – increase/decrease volume
    – a home button
    – play/pause
    – next track for easy music switching
    – A search button for quick searching apps
    – Mute button

The keyboard also uses several function keys similar to an apple keyboard which allows for quick commands. This also allows you to take full advantage of the several hundreds of backlit modes and colours available such as:

    – Breathing mode
    – Flicker
    – Standard backlit mode.

    New effect:
    – Star light

You can also manually set which colour you want on each key.

The keyboard also allows you to change its language using CTRL + Space, meaning that despite the Keyboard being in english format, it can be used universally.

Although the keyboard came in a UK standard qwerty layout.

    Ghosting:

It’s predecessor had an issue with ghosting issues when typing, although the problem seems to have been addressed on this keyboard.

    Wrist rest:

The wrist rest is a new feature which its predecessor didn’t have. It is made from a thin piece of PVC material that provides enough surface area to cushion your wrist while you type, it makes a big difference for those who get carpal tunnel.

    Connectivity:

    It uses bluetooth version 3.0.
The bluetooth is compatible with iPads from 1st generation and beyond to the most recent iPads.

Connecting was not an issue, and was done in seconds by using the FN + Bluetooth key together. The same method as last generation.

After using this command, the ipad had discovered the keyboard in seconds. After you turn the ipad on again, the bluetooth automatically connects to the keyboard.

    Final thoughts:

I enjoyed reviewing its predecessor so much that I had to review this one. I own multiple iPads from different generations and I should say that if you have a iPad pro 12.9″ definitely consider this case.

It’s on the larger side but it is the closest experience you will get to an inexpensive laptop. It’s only 5 more than its predecessor and is less expensive than other brands currently on the market while it offers a lot more functionality.

It serves as a good case for protecting your iPad, watching movies, doing homework or playing games.

Big, soft to touch, provides sturdy protection - A great keyboard for your iPad Pro.

I’m really impressed with this keyboard. It goes on securely but comes off without too much difficulty. The responsiveness is excellent as is the Bluetooth connectivity. It has some really nice features like all the light up keys options (only problem is though the kids keep wanting to steal it!). You can turn the lights off and change their layout. Yeah it’s a bit gimmicky but it’s good fun. The case offers reasonable protection while remaining fairly light and not too bulky. There are different angles you can have it open at depending on what task you are performing. Overall I really like this. There are no real negative issues and it’s possible the best of these keyboard cases that I have used.

Omg! This keyboard is so pretty, the lights are just wow, you can regulate lights with “lightbulb” button. I dont have an iPad yet ( will get it for my birthday next month) but as it bluetooth connection we tried will it work with Samsung tablet and it is! Easily pared keyboard with tablet and using magnifying glass button it straight away took us to Google page without touching tablet. Its so helpful and easy to use. I’m really impressed with it. This keyboard looks stunning, it’s very good quality at reasonable price and a bit heavy ( that’s the weight of quality lol )
I know, my old tablet doesnt fit the case but I dont use my device outside any way so for home use I dont mind. Is much easier and faster to type in long email using keyboard than touchscreen. The case have built in rechargeable battery which can be charged via USB. The case have magnets on the back of the case which helps the case to stand, also on place where case is folding to lift up keyboard and be able to type in with comfort. You can also separate case from keyboard if you want to. I’m really happy with this keyboard and only waiting for my iPad to arrive soon 🙂

    Beautiful design, great quality

This keyboard features a solid plastic design, retractable stand and a holder for the Apple Pencil. The Bluetooth function worked well and the unit paired quickly with my iPad. The connection was sound and steady and there were no connectivity issues over two hours of nearly continuous use. The multi-coloured keyboard backlighting is a bit garish, but the keys themselves work well, with no sticking. The backlighting can be switched off if, like me, the user finds it off-putting. All in all, a reasonably priced way to turn your iPad into a mini-laptop. I would recommend this product.

This keyboard is a lot better than I expected for the price. The case itself is well made and the corner bumpers look like they will do their job if needed. I know that keyboard preferences are subjective. I don’t live on the keyboard or anything like that but I found this one to have pretty good travel with a nice mechanical click and feel to it (do not buy if you like to type in silence). Also, the keyboard is large enough (12.9) so as not to feel cramped.
My only gripes are that the keyboard light seems to pulse on and off and I cant figure out how to stop it and for support the case uses a kickstand instead of a hinge, making laptop use difficult.
Still, I am glad I bought this over the Logitech keyboard at three times the price.

A solid well priced product. I don’t actually have an up to date iPad but will be getting one for me to use with this case.

It is well put together, very sturdy and I love the lights. I wouldn’t have generally consider the 45 cost to be good value, but having received the product for review I’m comfortable saying “treat yourself it’s worth it”

Some might even say that it’s a bit pricey, but given the workmanship of the product and the other little things that are part of the case I consider it to good value and would recommend this to anyone considering purchasing it.

This stylish tough Ipad case is probably the best one I’ve seen yet, The material is a rough re-enforced rubber, that heavy protects your Ipad inside.

The keyboard is another feature that stood out to me when you turn it on, it lights up a beautiful RBG effect across the keyboard, It’s easily removable yet sturdy and perfectly usable.

Across the item it all sits completely flush, this is thanks to the magnetic seals across the product.

The build quality is also amazing, I’ve currently found no faults across the item at all, everything has been perfectly designed and you can tell.

Overall, I recommend this as the go-to case for any serious Ipad user. If your going to work or even use your Ipad frequently then this case is for you.

Amazingly crafted magnetic tough sturdy case with beautiful keyboard.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersInateck Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 12.9″ 2018

This is a very nice keyboard case for the iPad Pro, it will only fit the 2018 3rd generation model, it doesn’t support earlier models. This is a two part case, the keyboard is easily attached or detached by unplugging the hinge from a clip in groove on the rear of the case. When both parts are attached, the hinge holds both keyboard & iPad case very securely together, it’s highly unlikely they will come apart.

The case consists of the iPad holder which holds the iPad very securely as it slides into the holder & clips into place. There is a camera cut-out on the rear which lines up perfectly. Also on the rear is a fold down magnetic stand with three height adjustments so you can obtain the optimum angle whilst viewing the screen.

The other part of the case consists of a very nice blue-tooth keyboard, the keyboard is a good size. The keys are semi soft touch, they give a positive click when pressed. The keys are also illuminated in a variety of attractive colours, you can choose which colours, also you can have the colours cycling if you wish. There is a single slide along power button, this button is a little fiddly, it’s also a little stiff but will probably become easier with use?

The case is quite heavy for it’s size, but it is well built, it’s also very tough. The case is made from a heavy black rubber type material which does offer a fair amount of protection for the iPad. The illuminated keyboard is plastic, it appears to be moulded into the case.

You are also supplied with a USB to Micro USB cable which is used to keep the keyboard charged. The battery life according to the user manual is around 10 hours if the backlight is on, if the backlight is switched off you can expect up to 282 hours. The keyboard is connected to the iPad via blue-tooth, the version of blue-tooth on this case is version: 3.0

This appears to be well made, it looks great with the illuminated keyboard. The case is a little heavy for it’s size but is a very tough case in my opinion – Highly Recommended!

    Specifications:

    Blue-tooth: Ver 3.0
    Effective range: 10 metres
    Charge time: 3-4 hours
Battery life with backlight: About 10 hours
Battery life with no backlight: About 282 hours
    Battery capacity: 650mAh

As an iPad Pro 12.9″ case in the mid-high price range, this certainly performs well.
The first thing to point out is that the case arrives in simplistic packaging, which will please the environmentally friendly ipad owners amongst us. The case itself is extremely well built, benefitting from a strengthened rubber fitted shell for the iPad, with all necessary buttons being accessible.
Moving onto the keyboard, this is a thing of beauty. It’s a pleasure to type on and really easy to customise the 3 separate backlit sections. The connection over Bluetooth is easy to establish (2 buttons to press to make it detectable) and it stays reliably connected. As a result, the keys are very responsive and you could easily believe you are typing on a laptop with a hard-wired keyboard.
There are only 2 issues that I feel could do with improving, however don’t let them put you off buying one; the magnet on the rear stand could do with being a little stronger so as to offer a little more support if used on a lap / unven surface and the opening section would possibly benefit from having some sort of strap / magnetic catch to keep it shut over when travelling. These are the only minor issues that have led to me dropping 1 star (I’d have dropped just half a star if it was possible).

Overall, I feel that this is a really good value case for the money and, for what you get, it’s definitely worth purchasing.

Excellent iPad Pro 12.9" case with customisable LED keyboard that makes this stand-out above others

This is certainly an interesting keyboard case for the 2018 12.9″ iPad Pro! It has a number, I suspect, of unique features. Most notably, although not particularly useful from a user perspective, the keyboard is not any backlit but you can choose the colour of the backlights for the three different sections of the keyboard – the right side, left side and the middle! If this isn’t dramatic enough you can select a dynamic constantly changing colour pattern. The case is also unusual in that the keyboard can be detached from the back of the case. You can still use the keyboard when detached as it uses a Bluetooth link to the iPad and has batteries built into the keyboard section. Finally, in use the keyboard is raised and angled as shown in one of the manufacturer’s photos. This creates a potentially more comfortable typing position. Oh, and finally, the keyboard is very cheap compared to the competition.

Other useful features include a secure home for the Apple Pencil that also allows the iPad to keep it charged. Usefully the keyboard is a UK one, often not so with cases. It also holds the iPad in place whilst protecting its sides thanks to the moulded case. Unlike the Apple keyboard case, you’re not relying on magnets to keep the case in place.

Less positively, the case is large and heavy. It adds substantial bulk to an already bulky tablet. Further, when the keyboard is attached, unless you’re actually using it for typing, the iPad is rather uncomfortable to use. This is not a sleek case by any means. In addition, the magnetic closure flap on the case does not seem to keep it closed reliably. It’s also worth noting that the case does not draw power from the iPad as the Apple case does, using the bespoke rear connector. So you’ll need to charge the keyboard separately and irritatingly you’ll need to use the supplied micro-USB connector as the keyboard doesn’t have a USB-C charging cable as the Ipad does.

Overall this would probably not be my first choice of case – it’s too big, needs a separate power supply, and some features are a bit of a gimmick. Nonetheless, the case does offer exceptional value for money. Four stars.

Pros: Lightweight, excellent quality, multifunction, you can use it vertically and horizontally. and excellent multifunction case.
Cons: Apple pencil connects generally well, sometimes doesn’t charge and falls away.
