Not sure who delivered my item, but the box was not taped shut, or its contents hidden by a cover. I love the product, but NOT HAPPY with the way it was delivered.

I have been using Ingersoll Rand die grinders for many years. After wearing out 8 cheap die grinders over the past 20 years, my original Ingersoll Rand angle die grinder is still working perfectly! No maintenance at all except lubrication. Truth be told, this is my go-to tool when cutting or polishing/de-burring. My original tool has seen 3 times the use that wore out 8 other tools. I recently purchases another house and I got this tool to go in my toolbox. I can’t be without this die grinder. You know you want it. Click the “Add to Cart” . The only thing you have to decide is whether you are willing to spend the rest of your life with this tool. It WILL outlive you.
I’m a fanatic about sharp mower blades.
I understood through a friend that a die casting grinder make a great sharpening tool for that task. I Purchased a central pneumatic for $12 and tested. It worked great on the first 30 blades, but literally fell apart shortly after. I spent over 10 times more for the Ingersoll, and it was worth every penny. The Ingersoll rand is a much better piece of equipment. I’m currently over a 100 Blades now and it still operating like it’s brand new. O’ yes, I buy it again!
This is one of the best angle grinders i have ever bought!!! I have been in the fiberglass industry for 30 some years now and this is very good so far. Hit me up in a year or so on if it lasts.

The environment this tool operates is very harsh. With daily oiling and care, we have had very good longevity. Will continue to order.

I'm going to start this off by saying there are cheaper 90° die grinders out there, I have several. But there is just something magical about Ingersoll Rand, and its ability to cut be quiet in be consistent consistently good time after time after time with a little oil this little grinder will outlive me easily

The tool feels very comfortable. I use it for sanding, and it works great. I would like to have a 5/16 chuck option.

I used it several times in past week, it has great power for its size. It has a quality feel and a quality sound when full throttle. My only complaint is where the locking switch is located.

Build quality is exceptional – and I am a mechanical engineer who designs stuff like this for a living. Very good ergonomics. The button to lock out the spindle for tool changes is much, much more handy than I was expecting it to be. No more fumbling with two wrenches (both of them non standard) and busting your knuckles together when it breaks free. Comes with a (somewhat strange) rubber “sock” and mounting hardware to direct exhaust air away from what you are working on.
Have only used this tool a few times so far, but loving it to date.
My only minor complaint: no instructions were included that even explained what the rubber sock thing was for – or how to attach it with the somewhat puzzling hardware. It’s a simple tool, so a 40 page booklet would be a waste… but how about one piece of paper that explains this attachment and how to install it?
Seems to be bullet proof.
Good robust design. I have a small fiberglass shop and we really are hard on it and have had zero problems. I tried one and bought two more because it has held up so well. Also it has a lot of grinding power.
Only thing I don’t care for is shaft lock button is right where you naturally put your thumb when using it. It’s not a show stopper.
Works good. I like the locking mechanism for the spindle. Only need one wrench to change attachments.

There are plenty of other die grinders that are significantly cheaper than the Ingersoll Rand but their quality is obviously cheaper and their performance leaves you disappointed. Do yourself a favor and stick with a brand that makes their living producing quality air compressors and tools. It’s worth the little higher cost and considerably less frustrating.
I have been using a cheap harbor freight die grinder for a while and another brand that came with my compressor and they were loud and under powered. This die grinder is amazing, very quiet, and very powerful, push the push button lock makes it very easy and fast to remove and replace ends on the unit.

Very good little tool. I have always bought the cheaper ones but this time spent a little more money and I'm slapping myself for not buying this sooner.

Works perfectly, for a mid grade grinder it's impressive. Been running her for a couple of weeks now and haven't had any issues. You can stop it with enough pressure but you should never push on it that hard anyway. Industrial welding.

Works well.
Pros:
– Pretty quiet
– Feels like it has plenty of power. Haven’t had any issues there.
– Light weight!
– The grip is comfortable
Cons:
– It’s not free
– Only bought one
Don’t waste money on the cheaper ones, this one is nice! My old Partsmaster blew a seal and spring after 8 years of abuse. This one is similar in construction. I’ve been a mechanic for 40 yrs, trust me. plus parts are available.
I really like the button that makes for easy shank removal.

I have purchased this after "misplacing" my matco .5 hp 90 degree grinder. This tool has the same amount of control and surprisingly has had enough power to grind materials using the green roloc pad with full pressure. It's just as quiet as my old matco one. I wish IR made a larger grinder however since my only complaint is it's compact size. My matco grinder was about double the size making it easier to control. But at almost half the cost, this is a no brainier purchase. Also the hose sound insulator it comes with is useless. It only reduces the noise slightly and falls off with almost every use.

I was reluctant to spend $130 for this, but I was wildlysuprised at its usefulness. I bought it to do some fiberglass work on my boat. Before starting that I bought a few abrasive pads and thus far I have given new life (an Easter Metaphor) to about dozen hand tools I was about to toss due to rust. One was vice grips that I used to do fiberglass work that were drenshed in epoxy. A wire wheel (use safety glasses!) a they are like new. Great little tool. Amazing in its many uses. Easy to change attachments with press button lock. Love it. Killer tool.
Really good 90 degree die grinder, does everything they say and seems to be built very solidly. It hasn’t let me down at work, just mind the pin that holds the chuck still, it’s possible to bump it during use.
GREAT LITTLE TOOL
Easy to chuck up new bits, but it does take a wrench. Plenty of power to run a 5″ sanding disk…in fact, it will blow the rubber backing plate apart if you don’t watch out. The instructional material is completely useless, so if you don’t know what you’re doing…get online and find out. They give you a 50 page safety manual in at least 100 languages (maybe I exaggerate), and all that is CYA for them. Useless to you.
BUT — it seems to be a great, compact, powerful little tool and I’m happy.
I personally never had one of Ingersoll Rand products anything less than perfection and this is no exception. I have to return it but at no fault of
Ingersoll Rand my Sears 5HP 33 Gallon air compressor could not keep up about 45 seconds run time before compressor kick in having stop wait three minutes to fill up. It wasn’t leaking air In case anybody was wondering.
very handy and versatile tool. Add roloc system or stem for cut-off wheels.

Awesome tool. Will probably out last me. A little pricey but when it comes to tools that need to work hard you can't beat quality.

Ingersoll Rand makes the pneumatic tools period. I bought this for work because they only provided cheap harbor freight grinders that were always falling apart. This grinder spins faster and is way quieter. It has a soft rubber grip which is really comfortable. being able to lock the chuck with a button makes swapping out tools a really quick process. Highly recomended.
Very smooth trigger control that actually controls speed. Easy to lube and grease, very sturdy axle lock button for bit exchange. Tools provided for disassembly accurate. Paired with some carbide burs for race bodywork trimming extremely precise cutting and fast work or flap discs for brqke caliper cleaning. No kick back during grinding if applying some pressure. Very easy one handed operation but easier to steady support hand on head of grinder. Overall very pleased as usual with Ingersoll Rand, as are all of my air impact tools since tool truck air tools are just rebranded IR usually.

a little bit of background i am a welder for caterpillar and i’ve been in the welding fabrication business for 10 years. this little guy packs a punch! my favorite feature is that it has a lock button, so you don’t have to try and fumble around two wrenches just to switch out tool tips. just one wrench and you got it. it has a lot of power to run .030 cutting discs, wire knot brushes, sanding pads, bur bits you name it. i would definitely recommend this to everyone. enough that i actually am writing a review for this.
Just tried it out, and its stronger than the other die grinders I have. This will make a good addition to my tools and will be my go to angle die grinder.

I am impressed with how quiet this grinder is! It has plenty of power and will drive a 3 inch 60 grit disc on fiberglass effortlessly!
Quietest, less effort needing applied to use with wire wheel . The best die grinder I've ever used . Will be buying more !!!!!!!!😊

This thing is bad! Super smooth and a balanced beast of a machine. Very happy with it. Hope it holds up for a long time with proper head grease and oil. If you enjoy using good tools then pull the trigge

Just wonderful , excellent power speed precision all in one comfortable compact package. ergonomic lock for change outs and amazing noise reduction over a lot of other tool truck brands. handle definitely insulates while using for extended periods. nothing more to say as I exspect to have it awhile like my other IR tools. anything IR makes is made top quality. if you haven’t tried the cordless line your missing out.
This grinder is bad a– it flat gets with it. The balance and feel in your hand is great. The trigger is very easy and smooth. Ive had other grinders before and none come close to this one. The chuck key button makes it so easy to change out different type of pads, polish ,and buffing pads. I recommend this to any one looking for a good angle die grinder. I will never use another off brand again. Ingersoll Rand is my choice for air power tools.
works as described, very handy at removing large amounts of material quickly with an 26 grit disc attached.

I bought one of these die grinders and it great for about a week, then the gears went bad, and it started growling really bad I liked the balance and the power so much I bought another one, and will send the first one in for repair. I love the power it is great for deburring.

I needed both a straight grinder and an angle grinder, so I first ordered IR’s Edge series, which are a fraction of the price of the Max series. Big mistake. The straight model had a trigger that was unusable. The safety latch was hard to manipulate, and the plunger was very sticky. The collet on the angle model was very difficult to get loose after only moderate tightening. In fact after the second try the smaller of the included wrenches bent. I returned both and ordered a 5102 angle grinder and a 5108 straight-shaft model. They are wonderful. The triggers are smooth and the safety latches easy to use. The shaft brake on the 5102 makes tool changes easy. I wish they could figure out a way to put that feature on the straight-shaft model. I used both of them all day yesterday blending machined aircraft parts at work, and these fine tools almost made the job fun.
Great grinder. The push button lock is a great addition if your using the 3M Roloc system. I use this grinder all day in a body shop setting and love it.

ool has good power and comfortable to use, would recommend it to anyone
Phenomenal
This is the best die grinder I have ever used. First off the tool has excellent balance it’s very maneuverable and easy on the hand. Other pluses quite (sounds more like a dental drill at 90psi), rear exhaust so your hand won’t freeze up. Very well built, it’s a solid piece of equipment. The only con I can think of is that it can be difficult to grease the unit, it’s using one of those very small grease fittings so you’ll have to pick up an adapter of a small grease gun such as one used on mountain bikes.
You cannot go wrong hear though I love it. hundreds of uses.
I try to get the best quality as much as I can so I usually end up with tools that will last for a long period of time and actually have nice "features" that are usually good compare to cheap version of the same kind of tool. The quick change which only require one wrench is very nice. This grinder run a lot quieter than cheap model I had used before and on top of that it will not freeze your hands like a lot of metal bodied air tools usually do...

Powerful without freezing your hand. Relatively quiet compared to junk from HF. The collet lock is quick. Worth it if you are into quality.

I purchased this to use at work. We use our die grinders often, and the quick change of only needing one wrench is very nice. The tool is much quieter than my older die grinders and not as high pitched. Excellent power and balance makes it easy on the hands. It also doesn’t freeze your hands like most metal bodied air tools do.
A great choice for someone who wants quality and dependability in an air tool.
