Good buy
I really like this bin. Good capacity and it does hold the smell inside.
Almost perfec
Well made and looks good. Has a fingerprint resistant finish which is easy to keep shiny. Easy to organise your food waste/general waste/recycling. The JJ bags fit perfectly and don’t leak at all – I’ve been using the same bag in the lower recycling section for about 3 weeks.
Only 4 stars due to one slight design flaw – the food waste container sits inside the upper general waste bucket, which leads you to want to empty that bucket when it’s only half full. Would be better to shape the upper bucket so that the food waste container sits outside of it. Thought about putting general waste in the bottom bucket but that isn’t protected by the odour filter.
Joseph Joseph have put a lot of thought into this, improved on original by losing the bulky lid/cover and making the overall bin more compact and yes good looking! We bought the stainless steel version at a discount and very happy with the surface quality, it’s easy to clean and doesn’t smear much. The original had a divider for lower recycling compartment, this one doesn’t – don’t know why they took away that option.
But there is an ISSUE with LID which a lot of people have talked about, it tends to stick closed after cleaning, some kind of vacuum between edges of lid and edges of top bin. My solution was to oil with WD40 or similar, after this no problems, so try this before going to the trouble of returning your bin.
The other design issue is the opposite – I think the lid will refuse to stay to closes after a few years of wear because the lid-release tolerances are so thin, 1 or 2mm of plastic wear will make the mechanism fail. No such problem with original, but overall this version is more convenient, more compact, and quicker to install bin bags neatly.
Great purchase
Very pleased with my purchase. More expensive than the average bin but very well designed and excellent quality
Fantastic
I like the fact that all household rubbish and recycling is kept in one neat and tidy unit . i love it and the fact I got it at a reduced price and 5 instalments meant I could justify the Costa
Absolutely LOVE this bin. Good capacity for recycling and waste. The food waste is a bit awkward in the corner but I’m still more than happy with it. Easy to clean and comes with some free liners and filter, which all fit perfectly!

Looks nice and suits the kitchen
BUT it’s a bit rickety and does not feel as sturdy or durable as our old Brabantia bin – the lid sounds like cheap thin plastic and the metal warbling when opening or closing

Smart item in kitchen considering a refuse bin!
This was a present as my husband chose Joseph Joseph Bin three years ago and we have been delighted with i
Best bin eve
You might think it’s quite hard to get excited about a bin…well you’ve obviously not got a Joseph Joseph totem!
This is quite simply the best bin ever.
I had a bin that had two compartments side by side, to allow me to separate recycling and normal waste, as well as a separate food waste bin.
Buying the totem has allowed me to replace these bins, while increasing my waste capacity and using less floor space.
There is masses of space in these bins, but due to the vertical nature of them they don’t take up much room.
The food waste caddy is a bit on the small side, however I actually quite like this, as it encourages me to empty it more frequently and avoid having a smelly bag of rotten food in the bin for days.
The bins are really easy to take out to empty or to clean.
Everything about the bin feels quality and it comes with a 10 year warranty.
The price of this item is high, I managed to get it on a prime week deal for about 105. However you can pay 150 or more for these.
I would normally potentially mark an item down in a review for a high price point and while I do feel 150 is a lot of money for a bin this bin is the best. And sometime you get what you pay for, so if you can afford it, or can get a decent deal then buy it and then you can feel excited about bins!
Excellent kitchen waste uni
I am delighted with this bin combination. I would highly recommend it.
Surprising how much good a bin makes a difference
Let’s begin with the price… at first sight this is a ridiculous price for a bin, having had it a few weeks now I’d pay it twice over.
This is an incredibly well designed and manufactured item. Every aspect is spot on, easy to use, sturdy and looks the part.
The main ‘tubs’ can use either one big bag or two smaller to divide them up, appropriate anchor slots are provided. Within the top tub is a decent size food waste bin that has an opening that is the width of a typical plate – really useful.
This brand always nails the tiny details that matter and in this case, the tubs are shaped to allow easy lift out removal, there is no obstructions in the path of the tubs and bags you may remove – none of those stupid metal handles to rip your bags
Never did I think a bin would bring me such pleasure!
LOVE THIS BIN
Love this bin looks very good in the corner of my new kitchen. Stylish and robust. Going to be the talking point when my relatives can visit.
Would highly recommend it to all.
A bit pricey but well worth it as all your recycling is in one place.
Brilliant.
Excellent quality product as you’d expect from Joseph Joseph. Brought from amazon for the speedy delivery.
Spacesaver bin.
I love my bin. its made our kitchen look so much better than the 2 plastic bins we had before. easy to use and clean too. Food bin is a bit small so we still use our counter one.
Looks good not like any kitchen bin I have ever seen, so smart and very neat, expensive but quality product.
Tidier kitche
I love this item, the kitchen is much tidier now. It’s sturdy so far haven’t experienced the lid latch problem
Study & elega
Excellent storage capacity & very sturdy, can easily deal with a large cat playing on i
Well worth the money
This has made my kitchen so much tidier and makes you more inclined to recycle so its a win win.
Very cool desig
Very fast delivery and futuristic design! The bin has only just arrive but it appears to be high quality.
Love it !!
Love it ! Love it !! Been looks for a splint bin for some time but many are bulky and big, this one is slim, light weight, wheels on recycle tub make it easy to slide in and out ! No smells great all in one bin.

Expensive but worth i
Expensive but worth it. Looks stylish in my newly renovated kitchen. Makes recycling easy and it’s a dream to keep clean.
Love i
Looks good and very functional – all the details thought through.
Keeps smells i
I bought this specifically as I had trouble with the smells from my last bin and cat waste disposal. As a person living alone it was small enough so I can empty it regularly without wasting huge bin bags but it also kept the smells in. The recycling compartment is useful and I can avoid having 2 bins which is great in a small flat. As my council doesn’t do composting I removed the mini container and use it for storing cleaning sponges 🙂
Expensive but a great buy
We really needed something to tidy the recycling area in the kitchen. This looks great and has good capacity. I like the bottom section which has wheels and slides out. The lift out baskets are useful. Overall it is such a help and has transformed that part of the kitchen. It is expensive for a bin, but I am so glad I bought it. (I bought it in Amazon sale so was 114.)
Pros:
* Combining two bins into one saves precious floorspace in my small kitchen
* The odour filter seems to help reduce smells and vent the bin to prevent humidity buildup
* The removable inserts are handy. They come out easily and they’re pretty strong
* The bins are a good size & shape for most household waste – meaning you can fit more in. e.g. A4 sheets will lay flat in the recycling bin
* A full bin bag fits snuggly in my wheelie bin. I can fit more rubbish in there than with my old peddle bin
Cons:
* Having the food waste slot inside the main bin is a bad idea. When you take it out, the rubbish around it shifts and then you need to paw around inside the bin to put it back. As the caddy is quite deep, the bin doesn’t even need to be half full before this becomes a problem. JJ’s suggestion that you can just take it out and plonk it on your worktop (presumably coated in all kinds of bin juice if you keep it in the top compartment) and then gently nestle it back inside plainly doesn’t really match with reality.
* The Joseph Joseph bin liners are currently approx 20x the price of the equivalent generic bin liners. Crazy. Either fork over the money, or deal with slightly ill-fitting bags. I opted for the latter
Overall:
The pros comfortably outweigh the cons, just a shame the food waste part of the bin isn’t as well thought out as the rest.
Looks Great, feels quality
Time will tell how the bin performs and it seems like a lot of money to drop on a bin but we had specific requirements that this bin fulfilled in terms of size and looks.
It looks great, the bottom portion glides out on its wheels and it just feels like good quality overall.
We went for stainless steel, although know how easy it is to dent and catch your eye forever more but its what we needed to match the kitchen, but there are other colour options available.
The bin bags are a certain size and shape and although you get a few thrown in for free, these are way too expensive to use as regular bin bags going forward and we actually found alternatives for MUCH cheaper.
So far so good – would definitely recommend.
Thought I had bought the sensor one
Though I thought I had bought the sensor one as it was expensive I’m still happy it tidies up my bin issue and I may have to empty it every few days but I like how it’s made my family understand recycling bette
Easy to use and clea
My husband said,” it’s just two bins!” But he’s so wrong. For a start it’s 3 bins. Rubbish, recycling and food for composting. I love that the opening is wide so really easy to get rubbish in. Also really easy to clean. Helps stop clutter in the kitchen too.
Very pleased so fa
Was a bit dubious about buying this bin against a Morphy Richards sensor bin. I felt both were expensive considering you’re just putting rubbish in them. Changing because I wanted to replace the 2 bins I was currently using for waste separation with a single unit. Reviews on the the battery and lid opening capacity on the Morphy Richards sensor bin led me to pay a little more for the Joseph Joseph totem 60ltr and I love it (so far). Composter gets in the way of the upper bin capacity but I’ve removed this and just keep it in a kitchen unit under the sink. Lower unit pulls in and out smoothly and seems like capacity is good … I’m a single person so don’t have a lot of household waste but it looks good and hopefully, price will reflect quality and life span.
Makes recycling easy!!!
Great bin that does what it’s suppose to do. Been looking for something like this for some time & I’m delighted with my purchase!!! The only negative thing that I can say about this product is that the outside finish on the plastic container is strange but does not detract from the functionality & effectiveness of the bin!!! You only notice it when washing it!! The inside finish is very smooth. Would recomend it without reservation!!!
Brilliant recycling bi
Great size, enabling you to seperate your waste as you dispose of i
Great bin for singletons or couples but a bit small for family use
One of these with 50/60 litre capacities would suit families better – a trash compactor version would be good too
Nice quality and design. Joesph bags are expensive but great quality.

Ticks all boxes
I was looking for a bin to hold all recycling and general waste this is just fabulous
Love it!!
Absolutely love this bin. Have wanted it for ages but didn’t particularly like the high price tag so jumped on it when Amazon had their deal on.
Only minus is the food bin is quite small and needs changing a lot and there is only 2 of us..plus side to that is food isn’t left to go smelly.
Love my new bin and it encourages you to recycle so much more.
Best bin eve
Took a while choosing to get this bin. So glad I got it. It’s brilliant. You can get other bin bag for it, just look about.
EXcellent Solutio
150 for a bin? Yep its expensive but really, really pleased with quality, design and capacity would recommend
Great desig
Great bin waist height and easy opening mechanism, seems very sturdy. Very pleased. Like other reviewers I would say it’s only suitable for a small household the 40L.

Great buy
Have wanted this bin for a while but was put off by the price tag – so happy it came up in a Lightning Deal. Due to the layout of our kitchen the bin can’t be hidden so I needed something that looks good but also holds a lot of rubbish.
The bin looks really good. The included bin bags were a nice touch. I find the bin holds a lot too.
The only niggle is that the bottom part on wheels comes out easily but sometimes sticks as it goes back in. Whether this is just because it is new and will loosen slightly over time I don’t know.
————-
After two months use, the handle used to open the bin started sticking. I have since been sent a replacement bin – the opening is completely different to my previous bin so may be the issue has been rectified.
Great size and no more smelly bin!
Quick and easy Amazon delivery. I went for the Graphite Totum Max 60 L.The box is heavy but can be moved by one person. Inside the box, you get the carbon filter, two bin bags and two caddy bags which you can compare with other non branded bags for size. The food caddy can be placed anywhere in the bin or on countertop.
I like the push opening and that there is no sensor or batteries to worry about. The bottom ‘recycling bin’ is a blessing as there is no need for a separate recycling bin. The main part is on wheels which moves in and out easily and the orange insert can be taken to the wheelie bin.
Overall a great bin, worth the money. Does the job well so hopefully this will be my last bin.
Well proportioned smooth and sleek
OMG I can’t believe I’m so excited about a bin!! It’s well proportioned sleek and tidy!
Brilliant bin, excellent desig
Love this waste solution. All in one place. Plenty of room for all the different types of waste. Easy to keep clean. We got the stone colour and it is fine – just looks neutral. Watch the video to see what it is like.
I made the mistake of not checking dimensions properly. It is more than 30cm. The hinge and button for releasing the lid add another few cm.
There is no smell thanks to the filter (it lasts well).
The custom made bags are dear but you can just sue your own. There are hooks for different sized bags.
No more mess & recycling clutter around your bi
I’m very pleased so far although I have only received this a couple o days ago. The design is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Visually, my kitchen looks already much better as I no longer have different bins/bags and recycling material around the bin as you can see in the before/after pictures.
This is the most perfect bin. As a 48 year old woman I’ve had many bins in my life, mostly has bins but that’s another story.
I researched long and hard and thought very carefully about parting with a substantial amount of cash for a bin but since Jojo ( that’s my bins name) has arrived in my life it has brought me nothing but joy! Every time I look at it I’m filled with happiness. It’s not too big, it’s not too small, it functions beautifully! It holds normal size bin bags and it doesn’t smell like some of my ex bins.
I would recommend this bin to anyone!
But you can’t have mine!!!!!! It’s going nowhere !!! I love i
Great inventio
Absolutely love this. I’ve been getting lousy bins for years and each time they just didn’t work for me in terms of organising my trash & bags didn’t stay properly. Although this is expensive for a bin but an average bin from the shops cost 70-100 so this is a good buy

Great bin, looks nice but storage capacity could be bette
I do like this bin, however the storage capacity isn’t great. I literally find myself emptying the bottom half of the bin 2-3 time a week and have also ditched the food section as it stopped me being able to put more waste in the bin. I guess this is just the norm with dual capacity bins

Functional trash bin!
Two bins in one, help separate recycle and daily trash. Easy to use, strong and sturdy.
Worth i
I’d definitely suggest forking out a bit more on a decent bin like this. Looks fab.
Pricey but well worth it. Well made, easy to clean, looks great and quick delivery. I went for the 40 litre that comprises of 2 x 20 litre bins and a small food bin. Perfect size for my household for a family of 3. I use the top bin for general waste and bottom for recycling. I don’t like bins that have a large capacity as I find the bin begins to smell before I fill it and therefore needs taking out. With this bin it’s the perfect size and yes I’m taking the rubbish out more but that means there are no smells lingering in my kitchen. Also worth noting there is an odour filter built into the lid which is a nice touch. Wish I had purchased this years ago instead of wasting money on other cheaper bins.
A great looking, sturdy kitchen bi
Love it. Love it. Love it. It’s so easy to empty and is tardis-like in terms of capacity. Wish I had bought this earlier. Worth the money. Highly recommended.
Excellent quality family bi
Best bin I’ve ever owned. Filter works really well to block out any unwanted odours, draws run really well and are very easy to empty.
Best bin eve
Love this bin! Everything organised under one lid. Have had so many compliments about it.
Only thing is you need to buy the Joseph Joseph bin liners to keep it looking tidy. Which is about 7 for 20.
Stylish and compac
I bought this to have my rubbish, compost and recycling neatly stored in one place. This unit does that and looks good at the same time.
The size and look.
This bin is brill. I didn’t relies how much stuff had to be put into different bins.
Love it but stupid price for a bin!
Ridiculous price for a bin lol but I do like it. It looks lovely in my kitchen. I heard bad things about comparable sensor bins so I went for this one which easily flicks open using the lever for general waste compartment at the top. I put two carrier bags in the lower pull out compartment so I can separate plastics and paper which means it does not hold alot in each so I have to empty regularly which isn’t too big a deal. Vast improvement on having piles of recycling on my worktop
I live my new kitchen bin, so far had no problems with it. Family of 2 adults and got the 60ltr bin. Thought it would be too big but its perfect. I use normal council food waste bags, wee bit big but just wrap it round at back of container. I use 50 ltr drawstring wilko bag for normal rubbish and use bottom drawer for my recycle paper jars etc. I empty food waste every 2 -3 days and normal waste 1 -2 times a week depending on items used
Its great but its expensive

Nearly perfect !
I like the bin it is very stylish which is good as I have to keep it in my dining area as kitchen too small for a waste bin my biggest issue with it is the food waste bin really needs a hinged lid as you have to take the lid of and put it somewhere while you are emptying the waste into it my other observation is that the handle to open the bin could have been built into the lid itself would have made it more streamlined but I do like the bin I love not have recycling stuff lying about the kitche

Yes, it’s expensive. But boy is it worth it. The ease of use, the quality of build, it’s smooth, quiet operation – and the quality of the bags you get to go with it – plus it’s the neatest bin that doesn’t overwhelm my very small kitchen,
make it a great piece of kit. The bags are expensive – but I use the bottom compartment for dry recyclables so I
use and re-use one again and again. The food waste bags are biodegradable – so no wrapping it dirty newspapers.
An all round star!
Good size and easy to use
This bin is brilliant! Everything in one place easy to use and clean. So glad I chose this one.
Compact and efficie
This is a slim, excellent set up for a small household. The 20l bins means waste isn’t lying around in the kitchen for too long! Flexible set-up is helpful too.

A neat compact bin. Large enough for several days waste. Looks good too.
Great bin!
This product is really worth the money if your family recycled their waste. It’s 60L storage capacity is great for a family of 3/4 and it’s so easy to empty and clean. I would highly recommend this bin.
works perfectly for me however I’m a household of one may be a bit small for a family. Food caddy works well however could be a bit bigger but then you sacrifice more space in the bin but like that the lid rests on the edge of the bin so you don’t have to put it on the work surface. Lovely bin but not worth the original price, I got it in the Black Friday sale so got it for a good price my advice would be to hold out for a good deal.
Perfect solution.
Our new house has a small kitchen with no spare floor area & all cupboards are utilised. Only solution was to find a bin to stand just outside the open kitchen, but looking a part of the furnishings. Normally all bins are stainless steel or white, but furnishings have a grey overtone & this bin was perfect. It blends in with colour, fits just right into a corner & most importantly, doesn’t stand out! Very functional with 2 separate compartments that are one above the other (so a small “footprint”), also very easy to keep clean. Does not look out of place!
Fab produc
Not easy to move around the kitchen, would be better if it was on wheels. Otherwise it’s excellent. The waste bins are easy to remove once full, we struggled doing this with our last bin.
Larger than the dimensions given, food recycling is limited, but unifies our recycling nicely
2 bed maisonette here, separate kitchen with small seating space (cafe table size).
The unit itself comes in a huge box, wrapped in plastic, the bin inside padded with the worst kind of styrofoam, but they have to prevent carelessness when shipping I guess.
The top bin is meant for landfill and food recycling. It comes with a few ‘starter’ bags that fit perfectly – too perfectly if you ask me. There’s almost no extra length for the full-size bag, meaning if the bin is full, the bag will not close short of compressing it. So we use 50L drawstring bags from Asda or wherever else and they fit perfectly.
The recycling compartment (bottom), has slits in-situ so that you can use standard-size plastic carrier bags, which we do, to separate plastic/bottles/tins from paper/cardboard. This works nicely, and the whole orange units can be lifted out without any vacuum effect occurring. This is on wheels and doesn’t clip in to place, or anything like that, you literally just push it back in and it stays there. It stays perfectly in place, doesn’t roll or anything, though sometimes you may need to give it a tap to line everything up (if you’re OCD about appearances).
There are two downsides so far as we can tell, after a solid month of use:
1) The food recycling just isn’t large enough. Compared to the council-provided bin, it’s just too small for us (couple and young baby). Plus, as it sits inside the top compartment, it will mingle too closely with landfill that may be stinky or nasty (eg. nappies), for my liking, needing washing up frequently. If you use the bottom bin, then there’s far less space for recycling…
2) The rear literally looked like it was flush – in all the photos and marketing shots on their website, there was never a clear picture showing that the rear part sticked out. So it won’t sit flush against the wall, but this is minor.
Then of course the PRICE. My arse hurts, even at 125 that I paid, I’m still a bit sore.
It sadly hasn’t completely unified the recycling, but I still argue with my Mrs to use the included food unit. She cooks more though, so she’s the boss on that one.
Overall though, this is larger than I expected – even having measured it up – but it’s removed the need for bags and boxes and reduced the frequency with which we need to go downstairs to the communal bins and empty. So all in all, very happy with this and highly recommended [if you can get it at a good price].
filters and bags
found the bin a bit bigger than expected , but it suits my needs being able to do recycling all in one place , A tip for all who have bought or thinking of buying . I would not replace the filter in the bin lid with the ones from the manufacturer , they are far too expensive . I bought a charcoal cut to size cooker hood filter and have managed to get 34 filters out of hood filter , also b&m do small food waste bags that fit the internal compost bin . and the other bins i will use black bin liners and i have made two elastic straps to keep them in place . the charge for manufacturers bags and filters is ridiculous .
Fab bin. But pricey.
60l Totem Joseph Joseph stainless steel bin. Fab bin but 30 cheaper in Lakeland. 139 in Lakeland I payed 170
Works brillantly
Looks great and works well. Should have bought it years ago instead of having bottles, cans and paper rubbish all round my old bin.
Great bi
I get ridiculously Excited when showing people this bun it works perfectly for me as a person alone who wants to recycle can’t recommend highly enough
I don’t really write reviews, but due to the price (for a bin) I thought I should.
I bought this purely for recycling as I have to split the waste into 3 different collection bins – so rather than having paper and plastic ect on the table until i get chance to put it outside, it now goes straight into the Joseph recycle bin until it’s full – then take it out once a week. So this is perfect 🙂
However, I agree with some of the other comments. If you’re using it for general waste im not sure if it’s suitable, as the compartments are wide but fairly are shallow (for an everyday waste bin) and im sure if will fill up fast.
Well made but without enough compartments
This bin has been in use for a while now, but despite its size it doesn’t quite have enough separation storage, and the food caddy is in my experience far too small. Here in Devon we need to separate out glass, plastics, paper, card and food. It might work if it had dividers for the two main compartments (mine has none), but for a family of four, who make a real effort to buy products with unnecessary packaging, there’s just not the capacity to store easily the separated items. In an ideal situation, one could do with two of these bins, but we don’t have the room in the kitchen.
So, we use it to store landfill in the top, and compacted cardboard in the lower section. Glass and plastics and stored outside in council boxes, and food is stored in compostable bags lining a bigger caddy, the small supplied caddy has been removed.
On a positive note, the bin looks, great and is very well made and finished and is mostly very easy to use … mostly, because the pop-up lid does not always released when the handle is pressed fully down; it’s as though the lid is just making a seal around the top of the bin, but it doesn’t do it always!
We bought this bin to replace the 3 seperate recycling bins that were making our kitchen untidy. It is larger than most kitchen bins but so convenient. The food recycling part is rather small, but very easy to lift out and empty. Each of the three sections all have plastic lift out liners. Very easy to clean. The bottom section pulls out on wheels which run very smoothly. The top lid has a replacable filter to stop smells. All in all very pleased with it.
As stated in the headline, this bin is amazingly easy on the eye, with its stylish lines and contrasting orange interior.
So, the unit has 2 large multi-use compartments with easy-to-remove & clean interiors (they even have little cut-outs near the base to stop filled bags getting stuck due to a vacuum forming!) removable+ repositionable lidded caddy for food waste.
The top section is lidded and has an integrated odour control filter (this needs to be replaced at 3-monthly intervals, 8 for a pack of two). There is one included. This is attached to a legged frame.
The bottom section has integrated casters underneath, to allow ease of sliding in and out from underneath the fixed, top section. This part does not have a lid. It also doesn’t line up particularly evenly, which I would expect given the price tag. A little wiggling into place can help, but I think the actual construction design limits how close the tolerances can be.
The food caddy has an integral clip, allowing you to fit it in the corner of whichever section you like, which is nice and very thoughtful design.
All section use custom-fit liners, which are purchasable from the JJ website, and I guess Amazon. They come in various sizes, but this bin includes three each of the IW6 + IW2 liners.
Overall, would I recommend this bin? Well, it all depends on how much money you have. As I said earlier, it looks very, very good. There are some extremely thoughtful aspects to it as well. However, if you use the recommended JJ liners, odour reducers etc. then it’s going to be an extremely expensive prospect to maintain. As their bags are somewhere in the region of 7-9 per 50, depending on size. I have no doubt, the bags are good quality – perfectly sized for the compartments, but I think after the first couple of tries, I’d be looking to find a cheaper alternative.
So, in summary. It’s a great bin – good looking and extremely practical, but expensive to run if you go with the OEM eco-system. If you find a super-market alternative, then it might be a lovely addition to your new kitchen. You probably won’t find a nicer looking bin!
Love i
I was quite apprehensive about this bin because its so expensive, but i love it.
My kitchen is very small, only 10ft x 6ft but this is tall and small so is a perfect size for my kitchen.
The bin is split into 2 x 30 litre compartments. The bottom one is on wheels and so slides in and out of the frame very easily. The top one is accessed via a lid, you press the silver part, and the lid comes up by itself. It raises slowly so no chance of hitting yourself on the lid.
Both compartments have orange plastic inner buckets that have spaces around the corners so you can lift them out easier. The bin comes with a small sample of black bin liners that fit both buckets, but you are only given 3 to try. If you want more the bags are IW6, and they cost 8 quid for 20. This is my only negative, they cost far more than i am prepared to pay for bin liners, so i bought a roll of 40 lemon scented ones from the pound shop which fit perfectly.
You also get a small compost corner that sits in the top corner of the upper bucket. It comes with a lid. You are given a sample of 3 bags. The replacements are IW2 and cost 8 quid for 50. They are quite thick and don’t leak.
You also have a carbon filter that you pop in the top for odour control. The replacements cost 8 quid for 2. I’ve no idea how long they last but the more frequent you empty the bin, the less odours it will soak up.
Both of the buckets are very easy to clean. They were clean with just fairy liquid and a sponge, because the outside is plastic, it is also extremely easy to keep clean with just some anti bacterial spray and a cloth.
The colour is classed as stone, but its a very light grey with orange buckets. It looks very smart.
Personally i love the bin, its smart and sleek, and the 10 year guarantee is a great reason to buy it, my only negative is the cost of the replacement bags and filters.
I was overwhelmed by the size of this bin when it arrived, but assumed most of it would be packaging. I was wrong! The bin is generously sized and quite stable and solid. It comes pre-built, so no building or fiddling around with fittings. The stone colour is more of a cream in colour, and whilst it is very smart, I worry that it may look like it was meant to be white. Colour, in the end is down to preference and kitchen design so each to their own.
I was impressed with the compartment sizes — they are suitable for a weeks waste for me and my partner. There is a nice neat area for the compostable waste too, which can be moved around to suit your preference. The drawers are smooth, fluid and easy to pull out, however, the handle on the bottom compartment is hindered by the inner orange bin, this could be trickier to maneuver and manage for those with larger fingers.
The height of the bin is suitable which prevents having to bend over all of the time. I prefer to have the recycling waste in the bottom drawer as it was easier for me to navigate and remove; with the general waste and compost in the top section, we were able to make more use of the filter in the lid — which kept the whole thing very fresh.
Included with the bin are a pack of trial bags and a filter to use, which is great to get you started. Whilst “normal” bin bags will suffice, they do not fit quite as well (surprise surprise) as the ones designed for them. The bin has marking inside should you forget which types of bags you will require; the suitable bags and filters are as follows:
* IW6 30-Litre General Waste Liners – Pack of 20 (Amazon product-code: B07PT7VL7Y).
* IW2 4-Litre Compostable Bags – Pack of 40 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAN0DA).
* Carbon Filter – Pack of 2 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAMYT6).
Depending how quickly you go through bags, the cost to maintain using this bin with genuine parts, could get quite costly.
All in all, it’s a great bin, as great as a bin can be — and if you’re looking to treat yourself to a stylish, good use of space bin — I would say it’s worth the money in the long run.
