Tips:

1. When the weather station is off, the time and date are reset to their original settings and you must manually reset them. We recommend that you do not switch off your weather station.

2. Distance test weather station and sensor, away from the metal mesh, magnetic field of heavy duty objects. The forecast temperature depends on the air pressure value. If it exceeds ± 3 Hpa within 1 hour, the prognosis value has changed. If not, please adjust the print manually according to your position.

3. If the weather station has not received transmission from the remote sensor (“- -” on the LCD), press and hold the “Down” button for 3 seconds to receive the transmission manually.

4. Press the “MEM” button to display the maximum or minimum humidity for the next 24 hours.

This is a good basic little weather station for general use, with a clear display screen and a useful outside sensor, so you are not just picking up the conditions of your centrally heated home!
It’s very easy to set up and great to get your children involved with – checking the screen and comparing with the weather outside.
If you are looking for a hi-tech device and are something of a weather nerd, then this is probably not going to be for you, but for the ordinary household it is a fun thing.

This weather station was incredibly easy to set up. Switch it on, power up the remote outdoor sensor and press a button to switch the main unit to the right channel and you’re done. When it powers off, I have had to reset the date and time every time it comes back on, so it was a bit disappointing to find it didn’t have a memory – but it doesn’t take long and in that respect it is no different to my oven or microwave.
The display is bright, colourful and easy to read and the (faux?)-wood frame is neutral and quite attractive.

This is a very attractive weather station, with the bamboo look adding a certain charm.

It is a little fiddly to set up, and I would rather the power came from a USB C

It does however do the job, very well, and so far seems reasonably accurate in temperature and humidity sensing.

The price seems about right for the functionality and the quality of the unit.

I think this weather station is fantastic. It looks so attractive and useful, on a bedside table and it’s amazing to be able to track unusual phenomena like the phases of the moon (very important for a witch!). I’ve compared the temperature gauge with other thermometers/barometers both inside and outside my hovel and it does seem to be very accurate. This would make a great present for a budding meteorologist!

Works perfectly and does everything it says it will. It is all well laid out and clear so you can see what you need to see at just a glance. The finish is a little bit cheap looking and plasticky but function over form and it works out. Super handy to have around the house.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have a few weather stations and this one is the best looking and most colourful. It’s bright and easy to read when the back light is on but you can’t really see anything when the light is off. If you have it connected to the mains via the USB lead (plug is supplied which makes a nice change) then the light is on permanently. I’ve got mine on the wall in the kitchen and you can read it all the way from across the kitchen. If you are running it on battery only then you will need to press the button on the top to light it up and read it, the light will last for 15 seconds.
This weather station needs AAA batteries in the main unit but takes AA batteries in the remote unit. This may have confused other reviewers but I had no problem at all. Having hung the remote sensor outside under the eaves (it’s not fully water proof) the inside and outside temperatures are pretty much the same as the other weather stations I have. The weather prediction is based mainly on barometric pressure which is how these weather stations generally work so it’s only really a guide to whether the pressure is rising or falling and what that might imply for the coming weather conditions. The LCD colour display is lovely and quite joyous. Like all LCD screens it is a bit limited by viewing angle, if you look at it from below or above then the display tends to disappear but that’s the same for all LCD weather stations. You can also set weather alerts if wanted and you can set an alarm as well.
I love this weather station, it’s the best looking and most fun weather station I’ve had and it seems pretty accurate. Of course nowadays you can ask your home assistant or look on your phone app for the weather but I love being able to see the inside and outside temperatures at a glance and your phone or assistant can’t tell you that. This weather station is 5 stars for me

Colourful and joyful weather station that seems pretty accurate

I must confess that I am not entirely sure on the point of this item, maybe you need to have more of a vested interest in the weather to understand it? With access to the internet and many various weather reports we all use them to check the weather right? But I can review how it works!

It is a good looking item with a nice bright display. You get a separate remote/sensor that can be placed outdoors or in another area (it is splash proof but it isn’t water proof so it does need some protection from the elements). This allows you get indoor and outdoor readings- Temperature and humidity. (Again not entirely sure why you would need a weather station for indoor weather?). I put my remote in the alcove of my front entrance way and it has been fine. Once you set the weather type it then uses air pressure and humidity to give the weather for the next 12 hours via the internal display.

One thing I did find useful was the humidity sensor as this allowed us to see which rooms in our new home had issues with poor humidity (we moved June last year to a “new” old house) and what we could do to possibly improve it.

The instructions aren’t amazing, it is simple to follow in terms of setting the date, time etc but they don’t give any overview of what the device is for, what the various readings mean and how to really use (again, if you are buying this then maybe you already know as your a keen weather buff?).

Overall, good looking item, nice display, does what it says it will and if you are looking for something like this then it’ll do the job well.

Once we figured this out, it’s good. Easy to use and gives a clear indication of the weather, temperature etc. It looks very smart and modern, and works very well. Would be ideal for children who have an interest the weather and how temperatures work etc.

This is a brilliant device for weather reading, temperature reading and with an alarm.

It is easy to set up.

    It looks cool.
And with a digital calendar, time(12/24 hour format), alarm clock & snooze button this simple device covers almost everything.

    I like it.

I know people have Alex etc that does the job this does but for those of us trying to avoid machines in our homes that pick up data all the time this is great. Comes in a lovely box which would look nice as a gift, everything is in little compartments and the instructions are easy to follow. For now it is going to be great for checking plants are surviviing in the cold snap we are presently experiencing. If and when lockdown finally ends and we start to win the fight with Covid a great many people are going to want to get together safely and this is going to come into it’s own then. To arrange something for outdoors and have a fair idea the weather is going to co-operate will be a boon. Can’t wait to be able to start using it to it’s full potential.

The model I have (the bamboo version) is one of a range of Kalawen weather stations and all of them have several options to display and record weather details inside your house and out. Read the tech specs at the top of the Amazon page to get an idea of what this unit can do.

I found it easy to set up after a quick read of the User Manual (annoyingly in the usual tiny type, so typical of products from the far east) and now it’s in our kitchen, running off the mains. I thought of installing batteries but the chances of a power cut seem rather remote. The display is clear and bright but it can be reduced to three levels, the last being about 25%. The size of the type and colours is a good selling point. The future weather graphic (centre, bottom) is really just a quick snapshot of tomorrow’s weather and the manual says the snow symbols will only be revealed when the temperature is lower than -4C/24.8F.

Where I think the unit is not so good is the sensor, obviously the radio signal needs a power supply from the two batteries but the manual gives no information about where to place the sensor. It has gaps in the plastic casing so it can interpret the surrounding air and send the information to the indoor unit. These gaps will allow water to get in if the sensor is just left in the open so it has to be covered in some way, my solution was to fix it to the underside of a garden table, this will keep it dry and allow for access to change the batteries at some point.

Overall a useful and pleasant to look at weather station, the same unit is available with different brand names and price.

I love the bright, colourful display. I think 60m is optimistic as a distance for the outside sensor. You need to keep the base station on the same side of the house as the sensor as it doesn’t take much to block readings. I power mine via USB so the screen is permanently on. If you have this in your bedroom, you probably want it battery powered so the screen goes off after a few seconds. It is very bright.

Nice and well made but in this day and age of so so many smarter options for getting this information that I wouldn’t want to take up valuable space in my home with one of these.

Never even thought of using one of these until last year when half of my plants died off in the garden during a cold snap and someone mentioned them. The fact that it allows me to monitor both inside and outside temps is great.

I have pinned the weather station to the wall where I seem to have trouble with plants repeatedly dying off when temps drop. This should help me assess whether I need to bring pots in and or cover.

It allows you to set temperature alarms which I think is brilliant. Was talking to a friend about this and they seemed bemused that you’d need to be alerted when temps rise or drop, I soon pointed out frost and too much heat for plants and they then agreed!!

It came in a nice box where everything was secured and wouldn’t be damaged in transit.

Setting it up was easy with clear instructions of what to press and hold. Idiot proof!

I have the main unit set up in the kitchen and can clearly read temps and humidity levels, both indoor and outside. Again this will be extremely handy if you wish to place the weather station inside a green house.

The main unit is quite small but big enough to read everything. Great as it’s not overpowering. It doesn’t look tacky either which I was concerned about. Looks quite nice on my unit.

You can add up to three stations. You get one with it and you just select ontop which channel you wish to pick up. You can set automatic with more than one, it will automatically change information to that designated zone.

When setting up you configure the time, date, month and year and it automatically displays looner positioning.

I manually chose something with the weather but after reading the instructions it apparently calculates the next 12 hours weather from humidity, pressure and temperature. Will be interesting to see how well it does with this. However you don’t see the pressure reading which would have been nice. It goes off trend? Not sure what this equates to.

You can dim the brightness and use it as an alarm clock too! For me this isn’t needed as I want it to permanently sit in the kitchen but that’s a nice touch.

As I mentioned before with the alarm feature. This is going to really come into its own with gardening. So many uses and if you add more stations you could easily grow to different climates in three greenhouses, plus you’ll be able to set alarms for when temps drop too much to protect plants.

Love the face icon, changes the display to show comfort levels, depending on readings.

I’ve checked the readings as best I could with The Met Office and googling data for my postcode and it matches exactly for outside!

It does everything I would want and a very happy customer.

    ***AFTERTHOUGHT AND IMPORTANT***

The weather sensor looked to be standard in cover design, where the batteries go and there’s a disclaimer on the bottom of the box which states it’s splash resistant but not waterproof? This is a major flaw in my opinion. It’s for outside, reducing by one star for this reason.

Brilliant little gadget! Everything you would need however the sensor isn't waterproof!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is pretty cool and definitely useful. The LCD is nice and really easy and clear to read. I like how the markings on the moon graphic give it an almost 3D appearance. Honestly, I prefer the look of the black unit and wasn’t sure about the bamboo of this one, but the pictures on the listing don’t do it justice and it looks a lot better in real life. I put it alongside another, much more basic temp/RH meter I have and it showed the temp about .3 difference, with equal RH, so I’d say it’s accurate. Setting it up is really very simple, just make sure you pick up a pack of AA batteries or have some ready to go, as the outdoor wireless sensor uses 2xAA and they don’t come in the box. You can also put 4 in the main unit and then if you get a power out or wish to move it around, it switches to battery power instantly. I like to do so as I have it on my bedside unit for most cases, but have put it in the kitchen from time to time. The outdoor sensor reading seems to update every 20 seconds or so and the connection is pretty solid. I have poor wi-fi and phone reception in my flat, but the connection between the main unit and sensor on this is perfect and has about 20 metres distance.

Overall I gave it 4 stars because it’s great and does everything I want, but it does have quite a narrow viewing angle before the LCD becomes difficult to read. This is particularly difficult on my bedside unit which puts it about 3-4″ above my head when I lay down and it’s almost impossible to read without me lifting my head up. Not the end of the world, but worth noting. The power cable could also be a little longer, but really that’s nitpicking as the one you get is just about long enough for most uses I’d guess. Really good little unit though!

    Attractive and useful!

You can get a weather forecast from lots of sources, Google/Alex/etc. but not the temperature in your greenhouse, the outside studio, garage or parts of your own garden. We find this great for the flexibility of where you can measure, allowing future controls, such as switching on heaters/blowers etc. by other controls. Looks and feels well built, OK to setup, once you have read the instructions (2 or 3 times). Am in the process of ordering extra sensors.

A brilliant product for any home. If you’re looking for this kind of thing you will not go wrong with this. You’ve got the time & date what the moon is doing in door temperature how comfortable the humidity is, the weather and out side temperature. You also have the alam to get you up so this can sat on you’re bed side table. All in colour LCD screen and a nice light wood bamboo effect frame, this comes with one sensor that you can put anywhere and you can add more sensors up to three if you like. This is for people without Alexa that can tell you everything and cost 35.59 in my opinion great value. It takes 3 AAA batteries in the big screen or you have a dc 5v plug and 2 AA batteries in the sensor, you can hang them both on the wall or stand them on the side it’s up to you.

Update: I did set the alam to test but struggled to cancel the alam and could find out how to change the LCD brightness the button will not work hence the 4 star otherwise it would be 5.

    A great bit of kit.

May I say that were this 10 or even 5 years ago, I would have awarded this item 5 stars, but things have moved on and I can ask Alexa now for a weather verbal forecast, indeed on my Amazon Alexa show, currently I can see the temperature and weather symbol(cloudy as I type) and sadly displays like this have become superseded. Combine that with the multitude of weather apps available for tablets and mobile telephones and the majority of us have this information at our finger tips. Of course, not everyone uses this technology and therefore for some this item will be invaluable. Obviously this unit also provides detail of the temperature and humidity inside you home as well as outside, however, I think that most people will focus on outdoor temperature and the weather rather than what the temperature is inside the home.

So what do you get, how easy is to install, what is the display like and is it accurate?

    Contents
    =======

    In the box you receive:

+. A set of instructions. Lots of words, but key things are missing such as the best place to install the outdoor sensor
+ a sensor. Can be installed indoor or outdoors.
+. Main display unit which monitors indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, day, date and time and a form of weather forecasting. This unit has an alarm function and could be used as a bedside display and alarm clock.
+. Power supply for the main display unit.

You will need two AA batteries for the remote unit and if you want to ensure that there is a backup for the clock you will need a further 3 AAA batteries; I must say that at 35.99 as at 1st February 2021, I would have expected these to be enclosed with the unit. They cost pennies for a manufacturer to supply.

    Installation
    =========

Setting up was easy and intuitive. Insert batteries, Power up, set the date and time using the set function, set the channel on the remote unit to the one on the main unit and away you go. It is that simple. In order to test the unit and just to confirm that the readings coincided, I kept the remote sensor next to the main unit initially, before installing it outside.

Installation of the remote sensor was easy, although as it is not weatherproof, I installed it under the eaves of our home in an area which will remain dry: there is an indentation to hang the unit on a hook or nail. There is also a retractable “foot” if you want the sensor to be free standing. The battery compartment is not weather sealed either and therefore I am concerned that over time, the battery compartment, in particularly the connectors for the batteries will deteriorate.

    Display
    ======

Both units have a display. The remote unit has a small LCD display which shows temperature and relative humidity. It is a mono display and can be switched between C/F. The main unit has a full, very clear colour display, which is easy to read, and provided batteries are fitted, blanks the screen after 15 seconds. It is easy to return to the display through pressing the snooze/light button on the top of the unit.

    Accuracy
    =======

I am fortunate that I have a further temperature monitor, which I use to calibrate thermostats for central heating controllers. It is a simple device, but it allowed me to compare the temperature displayed on all the devices situated next to each other:

    Temperature: main unit 20.2 C Remote unit 19.8 C My unit 20.9 C

Humidity: main unit 50% Remote unit 54% and my unit 48%

Some difference between the main unit and the remote unit, despite being in the same environment. No one expects them have the exact temperature, however, when re was a difference of 0.4C and humidity 2% difference. Not a lot, but part of the reason for deducting a star.

    Summary
    ========

This is a nice unit if you want to know the temperature and relative humidity iside and outside your home. It is easy to set up and the display is simple. Additionally the unit doubles up as an alarm clock. The main unit had a wooden surround which makes it more attractive to the eye, although the unit sent to me to review had damage to it.

I would add that at 35.99 this item is a bit expensive as for not much more you could purchase an Echo Show which will provide outside weather details plus lots, lots more. Not everyone wants that though and therefore this unit has a decreasing place in the market.

    Too late!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWeather station has wood frame, which sets off the display nicely. The display itself is colourful and informative.

POWER SUPPLY: A mains power supply is included but the device will also run on batteries.
Batteries needed: 2 x AA for the outdoor unit. 3 x AAA for the indoor unit.

Both of the above power sources can be installed simultaneously but the unit will automatically use the mains power supply. When using the mains power the screen intensity can be set at 4 levels of brightness. Disconnecting the mains power supply does not automatically cause the screen to remain lit: the screen is immediately extinguished. Pushing the ‘light’ button on the top of the unit causes the screen to light up — albeit at a lower intensity to that which was set when using the mains power.

15 SECONDS. After said amount of time the screen will then turn off in order to save power.

Up to 3 outdoor units can be used, paired, with the indoor unit. Only 1 outdoor unit is provided with this set. The unit can be set so as to not waste effort searching for data from 3 outdoor units if there is only 1 outdoor unit with a given set. There are 3 channels for communication between outdoor unit/s and the main unit. The outdoor unit has a physical selector switch to set the channel. The indoor unit needs to be set to match the selected outdoor channel. This is done by pressing a button which is on top of the indoor unit.

ERROR: If an obvious error occurs between the main unit and the outdoor unit then some 3 hours must pass before the units correct, between themselves, the error.

There is a small window which shows speculated weather patterns derived from the temperature, humidity, pressure recordings of the units. The pressure value is not shown on the screen. Expected weather patterns shown by the device can be manually altered by the user of the units.

Both of the units have flip out stands should the user not wish to fix them to a wall, for example.

VERDICT: Apart from the outdoor unit, all the components seem of high quality — including the mains power supply. As stated, the outdoor unit is not on the same level as the rest of the equipment. It’s not horrendous to look at but has a low-quality plastic appearance.
