I have always loved this bench so I bought it when it was on special offer. It looks great in the garden so happy with purchase. Quick to assemble but it was a bit fiddly in parts.
Easy to put together and very stable even when 2 sat on it. I can’t imagine it’ll be 100% waterproof but ok for me for things I’ll be storing in it. Very happy with purchase.
When this item arrived it was bigger than expected
Very easy for two people to put together
Very pleased with the quality , I would highly recommend i
Bought this from the Amazon warehouse so saved a good chunk. It was in perfect new condition. Easy to assemble on my own with easy to follow instructions, the contrasting colours blend nicely to create an attractive seat. It has been exposed to the prevailing wind with some serious rain and has remained waterproof. I like it.
Before you start assembling this item watch the videos on u-tube. There a number of videos listed under ‘how to assemble a keter eden bench. this familiarises you with the product and makes your assembly much easier. Written instructions are clear and easy to follow. I completed assembly in less than 1.5 hours and am absolutely delighted with the bench. it is sturdy, well engineered and of excellent quality plastic material. looks fantastic – nothing cheap and nasty about this product. strongly recommend.
This is a decent bench by a well known brand – at a good price. It’s tough, durable plastic and it doesn’t have many parts to assemble – but blimey, it’s quite tough to do. You definitely need two people, you definitely need some strength (my arthritic wrists were not up to the task) and where some parts allegedly “click” into place, brute force is required to get them there. However, the finished article is sturdy enough, although neither of us is exactly sylph-like. I hope the supporting frame under the bench seat will continue to hold us…
We did find that of all the parts that slot or screw together, there are inevitably tiny gaps. So we set to with a silicon gun (clear) and sealed all those up, now it’s properly weatherproof and waterproof and we can keep the long cushion we had from our old bench in the storage section (which is already proving its worth). The cat loves the sun warming the bench even on a chilly February day, and it looks good. Let’s hope it stays strong and sturdy.

Storage area lot bigger than expected only negative wish there was a way to secure it to wall ie a hook you could put a chain through other than that well worth money
Generally good, but water has got in the storage area
The bench is very light, so will need weighting a or anchoring down for any eldeldy person who may use the structure to assist in standing.
Ideal for purpose of a maintenance free bench.
Great size, easy to Assemble but needs 2 people. It’s comfortable to sit on and a great size inside for storage. I keep outdoor games and some gardening tools inside it.
Great value for money
The first bench was delivered with a crack in a leg and was replaced by Amazon. After assembling the bench according to the instructions the lid scrapped on one arm when opened. The problem was the squareness was found in the base, the self tapping screws had to be removed, squared up and re-inserted. The manual does not say you have to square the base with a square prior to screwing. This is important because the locking catches were 1 1/2 cm apart. When lifting the seat for access, it is important to lift it slowly or wipe away the water as this could drip onto the dry content. Otherwise, very happy with i
We had just a box, similar to this, to store our walking boots and wellingtons, in the garded by the back door. Someone sat on it and the lid (Which we thought would be okay to sit on!) not long after we’d put it together and the lid cracked, so it was no longer watertight. And we had to replace the hinges because they broke quite quickly.
This bench box is far superior! For a start, the lid/seat is reinforced! Secondly, there is a gully to collect and drain the water, which sits on the lid/seat, away. Third, the hinges are far superior than the ones on the box. Finally, the reinforced back rest makes it much more comfortable to sit on!
An excellent choice of garden storage!
Very easy to build if you read the instructions! Being a man and previously knocked a few keter items together I didn’t bother reading. Made a error which was a bit of a nightmare to resolve. Forgot to insert the metal bar into the back rest. Took a lot of effort to unclip what I had done without breaking anything. I did crack one small piece at the very end of assembly. Not keters fault just me being overly aggressive after my mistake. Been up a week in the back garden in biblical rain and dry as a bone inside. Got it on a flash sale so chuffed at the price I paid for it. Even at full price this hands down beats any wooden bench out there. No rotting wood, no painting or staining and good storage what’s not to like!?

I bought this as a weather proof occasion seat , but mostly so parcels could be left in a dry place , when I am unable to answer the door . The storage area is big, with a seat/ lid which is easy to open . Unfortunately, it arrived during a spell of very rainy weather , and I realised that rain gathering on the seat, falls into the storage area when the lid is opened , wetting the parcels . This is my only negative. The bench is light and easy to carry . Although assembling is straightforward, I am not strong enough to ‘ click ‘ parts into position, so needed the help of a person with very strong hands . Some of the moulding had extra bits hanging of, which needed cutting . All in all , I’m very happy with the product and price
If you open the lid/seat without shaking excess off first, you get large puddles inside the “Weatherproof Storage Area”, not so great when storing cushions. Base could do with being a little stronger so it could take the weight of some garden items, fish food, bird seed as well as something larger than a garden trowel. Given the problem with water not all going down the drainage section at the back the base could do with some form of drainage (recommend a few holes with a nylon/cotton mix webbing fabric across the base.
Suitable for me, but not secure as possible to access by removing side panels
Likes ..Good strong bench, good size storage, nice colour.
Dislikes… what’s with all the moulding holes ?
2 people to assemble this is a good idea. Take your time, read the instructions carefully and try to make sense of the picture diagrams. Being a Plastic item, some pushing and twisting to get things to ‘click’ will be required.
Plenty of storage and easy to lock, with your own padlock. We haven’t used it as a seat yet, but will in the drier weather.
You can do on your own but handy to have second person helping. A bit fiddly getting parts to click in place. Hardest part to click was angled back rest. Once we figure out how to angle part it went in with additional information force using hands. I’ve one bit that has gap on armrest. Emailed Keter about it. Rest of bench is okay, no other gaps, not fitting parts. This is 3rd Keter box I’ve bought, except this one has bench. Much cheaper than a few months ago with monthly payment option as well.Locking is easy. Easy enough to find suitable padlocks for bench as well.
I purchased this along with a Keter small storage shed. The shed was delivered with a damaged hinge which we only noticed half way through so started on the summer seat to find the screws were missing. I contacted Keter Customer Services and still awaiting a response.
Update they have replied a 1 month later they have ordered parts however they are not available at the moment. I’ll update you on the situation.
Parts arrived 1 happy customer. I would recommend buying from this firm.
Assembly was reasonably easy as I had just destroyed an old version. Colours just right and price not too bad.
Relatively easy to construct but make sure the parts do click otherwise it comes misshaped. Once built it has considerable store managed to get pergola and cushions in but will get some of those vacuum bags to get more space and extra protection. All in all good price for a good looking bench ( that needs no painting) just a wipe over with a damp cloth. Recommended

I had a bench initially and since then my Mother has had one also. I keep a dog stroller in mine plus some gardening equipment, all kept bone dry in bad weather. If either of us has deliveries and we are out, the driver leaves the parcels big or small in our benches!! I wish I’d have had one years ago, in fact, I’m thinking of having another one to put in a different area on my property. Brilliant buy.
It arrived three days later than promised, not Amazon’s fault it was the carrier, Nonetheless it arrived intact. I unpacked and followed the instructions. I found it annoying that sometimes it was difficult to decide which side some parts are assembled, (good side or reverse) you just have to keep in mind how it will look eventually.
As a lady of a certain age I assembled this on my own, it took me a while but got there. I found the the gentle tap of a rubber hammer helpful without damaging the bench.
It will be used at the far end of the garden so when up there it is not necessary to keep coming back to the house. It looks good, its study (although I haven’t had the chance to sit on it yet). So far so good.
I bought the cover suggested, there is plenty of space inside there. As a deal it looks like good value for money.
Can be assembled by one, but it’s best with two. In the hot sun use cushion as the plastic gets hot. It’s no maintenance apart from washing it down from time to time.
Arrived in one box, fairly easy to assemble but takes 2 people, one to hold in place whilst the other puts fixings in. Easily seats two adults. Just needs a wipe with a cloth after rain. So far the storage area has not got wet from the rain but nothing has been put in there yet. Will be interesting to see how it fairs over a winter. Delivered in time stated but no prior delivery confirmation of estimated timing on delivery day, fortunate I was in.

Nice looking when put together and seems sturdy. Assembly is a little complex and needs 2 people, but everything fitted. Lock protrudes and is a bit dangerous – easy to catch back of leg. Can’t comment on weather proofing yet, since bench is new and not yet weather tested .

Bench is great and no water getting in. However I ordered a beige bench but a dark grey was delivered.
Not the easiest to construct but pleased with the finished product. Stores a lot of wood and seats 2 comfortably.
Shocked when I discovered how much more this item was compared to a couple of years ago.. Was on sale for as little as 60..
although I had certain challenges with assembly and managed to break part of the bench, the vendor replaced it speedily and with no fuss. Most impressed.
Easy to assemble, good capacity, comfortable seat but 2 items not so good:
1. Screws to screw the base into the body need to be longer and more secure. My base came away in one day and I had to fix it with metal ‘L’ brackets.
2. If it has been raining then water accumated on the seat will run into the box when you open the seat up. The seat really needs a ‘ledge/overhang’ at the back so that pooling water run off behind the box.
Looks good when assembled & is robust to use & sit on. Not the easiest to assemble getting all the moulded plastic panels to marry up but worth the effort. Unable to get one of the bottom leg covers to stay put, this doesn’t affect the ability to use it though. Provides a decent amount of storage so overall quite happy with my purchase

You may read reviews that it is not easy to assemble but I didn’t find that. The only issue was the courier. The box was damaged which impacted the product. The seller was able to rectify the issue. The issue is the chair is pretty heavy therefore the packaging just wasn’t up to the job.
Once assembled, the unit is robust and surprisingly comfortable to side on.

Well Packaged, arrived on due date, Packaging was a Bit Scuffed.. Easy enough to construct, don’t stray from the Instructions and you’ll be alright, pieces are all Numbered.. The Bench is Sturdy enough, plenty storage space. not Heavy, would most likely need some weight in it in Really Windy Weather… There was a Crack in one of the Leg Pieces, resulting in the Leg Blank not staying put.. Fixed it with a small Screw and it’s going nowhere.. All in all the wife and I are pleased enough with it.. At least I won’t have to paint or treat it. It’s had quite a few washes but that’s all down to all the B####Y Rain we’ve had since we Bought the B####Y Swing…
My boyfriend put this together, took about an hour, couple of scratches of the head but nothing to complicated. I love it! I haven’t put a lock on ours and it stays shut and cushions inside stay dry. It hold quite a bit of stuff. It’s plastic and looks like plastic but it’s brilliant for what I want it fo
Does the job for muddy boots by the back door only criticism is when you open the lid where the seat is the needs to be small channel for the water to run into and run away from the bench seat as the water can pool on top and when you open this and fall i
I’m glad I purchased this bench, even after seeing the bad reviews. I see why some complain about assembly issues and quality, but you just need to take your time. A few pieces appeared flimsy at first, but the overall construction feels sturdy. One thing to note is that there were complaints of the seat breaking. It’s not mentioned in the instructions, but it looks like you could put some wooden slats inside the voids under the seat which are just covered with blanking plates (see last pic). Overall I’m quite happy with this bench, I managed to fit my lawnmower inside which was my main priority.
As most products YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR buy cheap and you will get a cheap product and end up paying more in the long run. Keter only one brand for your garden. Very strong and waterproof I have a few Keter items in my garden some are 10 + years old and other than a little fading still as good as the day I got them and still waterproof most importantly it doesn’t go brittle from various weather conditions

I am completely new to assembling furniture and I managed it so I’m sure anyone can! That said I would prefer to never have to repeat the experience as it was infuriating for me at times.
Looks lovely and the storage is great, seems a good deal all in all.
I bought 2 of these and both arrived unbroken which was a bonus based on other reviews!
Assembly was pretty easy but like others have said, you need a sharp knife to trim the burrs off the plastic so the parts fit together properly. Because I bought 2 of these, the 2nd one was a breeze to put together because I knew where all the burr points were from building the first one and removed them first.
They are not exactly secure so don’t put anything valuble in them, because although the brackets for attaching a lock are metal, these brackets just screw into plastic so can be ripped out very easily.
Overall pretty happy with them both.
Came well packed full instructions for assembly easy to understand and build. All parts are numbered and lettered . Two people makes it a lot easier to build although a single person could assemble it on one’s own. It is very sturdy and can easily take 2 persons sitting. It has ample storage space under seat suitable for cushions and light garden tools or toys. An excellent garden bench highly recommended.
.
Only had it a couple of weeks but seems very weak, not the easiest to assemble, it could do with being a bit more sturdier.. don’t confuse or compare this to a wooden bench.. but a wooden bench doesn’t have waterproof storage like this.
I noticed there was a difference among grey and the other two color. They have updated the seat. If you see all bad reviews are from the beige and brown colour bench. You can notice those two have a different seat and the reinforcement ribs has a cross pattern. New seat has parallel reinforcement ribs and 4 stronger box sections.
The bench arrived well and took less than an hour to build, once assembled is really sturdy and looks great.
I actually tried to cancel this order as some of the reviews were so poor I got really worried this would turn up smashed to bits with half the pieces missing…
Thankfully it was all there and no damage and I am delighted with it!
Putting it together by myself took about an hour, but it was very simple as all the pieces have the part number from the instruction booklet stamped onto them. The only thing I found a wee bit hard was clicking some of the parts in place and had to use my full weight which I’m sure gave my neighbours a chuckle.
Some of the screw holes on the bottom did look as if they hadn’t been pre drilled but a gentle poke with my screwdriver revealed them and the screws all went in very easily. I do recommend you have a knife to hand as some of the plastic has some bits that need trimming off (a bit like a kinder egg toy!) but again this is very simple.
Once it was assembled I had a practice sit on it and it’s actually very comfy and nice to lay down on to read a book, though I’m only 5 foot and find it perfect for one person I think you’d be a bit cosy with two.
The storage area is huge and while the bench is comfy I am getting a squishy bench cushion because I think it wouldn’t be great to sit on when very hot or for long periods.
I think this bench looks lovely and am so pleased I ignored all the rubbish reviews, for the price I am very surprised at how nice this is and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up a little now so I can sit outside and enjoy my bench!
We have it outside the back door, lovely to sit on with a cuppa. We live in the countryside and have no footpaths so you can imagine we wear wellies for most of the British weather. The storage area is used for all the family’s wellies. easy to clean out and 100% waterproof. We don’t padlock it but we use a plastic peg to hold the lid shut as I would imagine on windy days it would flap about. The bench is very sturdy, I myself am 19stone and my partner 16 stone so it takes some weight. we have also had the grandkids sat with us on it too. lovely sized bench with lots of seat space and plenty of waterproof storage. Very easy to assemble, i found no problems and had no help either. I would recommend
Big problems with delivery and communication from seller.
Also when I was left with no delivery date for a month, I tried to cancel the order and was not allowed despite it not being dispatched at all yet.
The end product, when it finally arrived, is pretty good tho… not super easy to assemble as all parts don’t fit exactly together so there’s the odd disconnect prob etc but it’s relatively sturdy and relatively weatherproof does in all I’m happy with it and would probably buy another one in the future.
We’ve just assembled this product and it seems to be ok. I might add a further review once it’s been in use a while. My main criticism is that the assembly was made far too difficult as a result of poor finish to the mouldings. The assembly requires a ‘push and click’ process that is hindered by an excess of plastic on the joining parts. I spent considerable time trimming off the excess with a Stanley knife to achieve the ‘click’ and a firm fit, on most of the joints. Why, oh why don’t the manufacturers do this as part of production and/or quality control? Maybe, if they read these buyers reviews, they’ll start finishing off their products better – let’s hope so. If not, I suggest to future buyers that they trim ALL joints before the start the assembly.
On the plus side, the instructions are reasonably clear and all parts were present. We did notice one small area of damage (from transit?), but it was in a non-structural area that didn’t show.
I had searched high & low to get this in the right colours to match my keter box. During lockdown they sold out and any that were available were selling at crazy prices. Got this one last minute using amazon notifications and was made up. Storage is enough to put kids outdoor toys in & a couple of tools. Bench is very sturdy too.

I use it to store my wild bird and hedgehog food and it is very spacious. When it rains, the storage area remains dry, however, when you then open the lid, any lying water then slides down to the back and some of it inevitably falls into the storage area. I can live with that!
It nearly killed us both, but this is a lovely-looking & utilitarian seat-with-integral-storage, designed to look like a 400 wooden unit, but in durable plastic.
Honestly, if I was an able-bodied person, this would have taken me 30 mins to assemble, alone. As it is, it took me and my Mum a couple of hours, because I had to perform all actions from a wheelchair, while building this in a corridor & she is unused to being the one taking the orders – we found out some things, that night – LOL!
To my eyes, this item is a bargain & much sturdier than I had dared to hope 🙂 I’ve included a picture of the finished item, nestled under the tree canopy, just outside my front door, at the top of my wild-strawberry “lawn”.
I ordered this to have an weatherproof outdoor space to store chair cushions during the summer. Its reasonable study as a storage bench and large – easily fitting our cushions into it. Its withstood several heavy showers and the cushions have stayed dried. Although they feel cold and a little damp after a lot of rain. So good for summer storage but not a year round solution.
Its robust and while we don’t use it as a seat routinely its strong enough to sit on and looks fairly smartish.
Ultimatly you get what you pay for. This is a great reasonably priced storage solution.
he bench was nice and easy to fit ,not really a problem but what i did was cut a piece of exterior ply the same size as the plastic base supplied and fitted that instead ,it made it a lot more stronger and the screws in the bottom were able to take better also better for putting gardening things in.
I can’t comment on the construction as my experienced DIY neighbour put it together for me. He said it was easy and he was certainly quick to do it. I bought one about 5-6 years ago and it’s still going strong though the seat has faded to a coffee colour with constant sun. I keep lounger and seat cushions and in it with no problems regarding water ingress. I bought a second recently as the lid had cracked on a a bench seat bought for another part of the garden 2 years ago, and I felt I should go back to the make and style I knew. I was surprised at the negative reviews but bought it anyway relying on past experience. This one contains lots of smaller things I need instantly for gardening eg secateurs, sprays, kneeler, etc. I do think that stuff like heavy bags of soil or heavy tools wouldn’t be suitable for the base. I suspect there seems to be a variation in production quality from the reviews but I’m very happy with both of mine.
Great value for money, good amount of storage space. Easy to assemble but would recommend two person job to make it easier. Take your time to read instructions do not rush putting it together and it is quite quick and easy to do. Sturdy and looks good, there are better looking benches on the market but they are 3 times the price. This has no visible metal to rust either which can be a problem with some of them.
We came to putting this seat together on the back of putting together a large 11 x 7 Keter shed – excellent quality with fabulous instructions/fittings and a big Keter garden storage unit, also excellent instructions and fittings, so we thought we knew what we were in for. Not quite.
While all the bits were there and the instructions are clear, this is obviously a much more basic product than the shed or store. We laughed as we struggled more with this than we did the shed. It all went together in the end but the two pegs which push in to hold the back to the arms were a real ***. Even after we had checked and checked again that everything else was fitted correctly they didn’t want to go in. Got them in eventually but it was no nice push and click as shown on the illustration and the top of one broke off and has had to be glued back on – this bit definitely didn’t end up looking like the picture.
Now it is together it is comfortable – definitely for sitting on only, kids standing or jumping on this would finish it off pretty quickly. Plenty of space inside for some cushions and other small gardening tools.
Happy with what I paid at just over 100, if I had paid more I would have been disappointed with the quality.
I bought this for my garden as I thought it looked nice and would be a great storage unit to put the covers for our garden chairs in. I got this at a great price so took the plunge.
I was slightly disappointed when trying to put it together. The plastic seems warped on various parts and made putting it together quite difficult. So difficult actually that I accidentally snapped a piece of plastic during assembly. However, I persevered and managed to get around this issue.
Once it’s up though, it’s great. It looks good, feels sturdy to sit on and hasn’t let a drop of water in so keeps our garden chair covers nice and dry.
I have only given it 4 stars for easy to assemble as everything was going fine and then I found that one of the screw holes was too big and another one was too small, which meant it didn’t fit together properly. I contacted Amazon and they sent a replacement to me, I was then able to fit the bench together very easily and very quickly. After I fitted everything together I then sent the fault bench parts from the original bench and the parts from the replacement bench back to Amazon.
I have a Keter shed and a Keter storage box at my allotment, they were also very easy to fit together. I also have some Keter shelves, these were very straight forward to fix.
This is the second of this this bench/box I have purchased.
The first one I had no problem with at all and hence why I bought a second one.
This one obviously had a problem with the moulding process and nearly all of the edges of the bench had razor sharp wafer thin extrusions sticking out, as I found out painfully when un-boxing it and cutting my thumb and finger on them.
They were easily cut off with a sharp knife so I did not return the bench but I would certainly watch out for them if you buy one as it can be a painful mistake not to check.

Purchased this after reading reviews as needed storage for chair cushions.
It is actually quite small storage and some of my square chair cushions do not fit.
I have always loved Keter products but this falls short on quality finish and general appearance.
Maybe just a sign of the times , corner cutting to maximise profit.
A little more fiddly to put together than I had expected and during construction it felt a bit flimsy. Once constructed however it felt solid and looked much better that the photo. I bought a cushion, which stores nicely in the bench, finishes off the looks and makes it more comfortable. I have other keter garden furniture which still look great even when left out uncovered over the winter. Would recommend this product and brand.

My wife and I put this bench together and although some parts required a bit of thought to be sure we had them the right way round before fitting we eventually achieved the assembly of this very useful bench with its useful storage.
One word of caution, don’t lift the lid of the storage box if it is wet without first wiping dry. the water will run into the box.

Maddening to put together. it should be fairly easy but I ended up being pushed to the limit of my patience. click one bit in the other side clicked out. clicked that bit back in the other side clicked out. in the end I realised that it was the black base part that was causing the issue and had to unscrew it completely. put back in and try again.
also the whole thing seems very sturdy but the actual seat part is thin plastic. which seems to be a bit strange choice to me.

I’ve shied away from wooden benches due to having to treat them every year and still they’ll eventually rot away. So I’ve gone for plastic. This bench from Keter is easy to assemble following the well written comprehensive instruction leaflet. When finished it’s a very sturdy bench and looks nice out in the garden. The storage compartment is waterproof and ideal for storing my patio set cushions in. The bench has a few steel rails in it that make a stiff and strong construction. I had it put together in about 25mins and I’m very happy with the end result. A good looking storage bench in good colours that doesn’t look cheap.
Bought as a garden storage box primarily but with seating capability when required. Item arrived reasonably well packed with no components broken or missing. Assembly instructions are relatively easy to follow but a number of the moulded plastic components had were not trimmed particularly well and this caused some issues when fitting them together. A bit of more careful trimming here and there resolved any problems. Once assembled the storage box seat is sturdy and practical, so in my opinion fair value. I would recommend examination each of the plastic components carefully before assembly, especially at the points where they are designed to locate securely with other components, and trim off any obvious flash which may interfere with that connection.

Nice product. take your time and read the instructions carefully. If you do this be sensible and dont be tempted to use a sledge hammer when inserting some of the “click” together joints and you will have a very serviceable seat which keeps the inside wasterproof. It holds loads and looks good for a very reasonable price. This i my second purchase. One for on the caravan decking and this one for at home to store loads of tools in.
I’ve got two of these now and they are excellent. The older of the two has now sat outside in the sunshine for three years, and is showing no signs of UV degradation (bleaching or embrittlement of the plastic). Be warned that they can be a bit fiddly to assemble – sometimes needing a bit of brute force to click sections together – but once assembled they are rock solid. Provide a decent amount of storage space too. Seating for three adults who don’t mind cosying-up, and pretty comfy even without a cushion.
A note that some more recent reviews I’ve read have criticised the quality, and the last one I bought was two years ago, so there’s a possibility the plastic supplier may have changed and they’re not as good as they once were. However, I can only go by the ones I’ve got and they’re spot on for the money.
We like ours. It’s waterproofing is pretty good. It was a little fiddly to construct but not as infuriating as we’d feared from some of the reviews. It looks nice, has good storage, comfortable to sit on. Can leave it outside in all weathers without worry.

When it arrived I thought the parts were a bit flimsy but when assembled it proved to be a sturdy storage box with a reasonably comfy bench. You might like to buy or make a long cushion. My husband is very skilled at assembly but even he had a brief struggle with the job particularly putting the base into place..found that it would not go all the way to the end but tried rocking it in and then a hammer (protecting the plastic with a piece of wood) it worked well. Take care with the two little plastic bits which slot in the back near the arms because they must be matched to the right hole…if you reverse them they wont go in right. I took a photo of it in place and containing several garden tools, storage bags, leaf collectors etc loads of space . Enjoy!..It looks more attractive than plastic usually does and the colour is sort of ‘nude’ with a black seat. We bought the cover to go with it. The two arrived separately.
I am pleased with this bench, it adds a nice touch to my small garden. I bought this because I do not have sufficient garden space for a big shed, so I wanted something to keep all my dirty gardening stuff in such as spades, broom etc so that my little summerhouse workshop/shed won’t get too dirty inside.
The bench was quite easy to put together, it took me about 30 minutes. It is surprisingly roomy and it can fit my pushalong lawnmower, broom, spade, fork, hose cassette, trowels etc with lots of space left over.
One thing I was worried about was whether it would look very fake and plastic. Up close you can tell it is plastic, but a few feet away it looks like painted timber. I think once it has weathered a bit, it will look like timber even close up.
It is comfortable to sit on without cushions.
The only downside, such as it is, is that the floor of the box is a little flimsy and I am not sure it would stand up to storing heavy items like bags of coal, sacks of cement etc.
I read alot of the reviews about this and there are some quite negative ones. However, I read them carefully and came to the conclusion that some people are a bit picky. I received this bench, very well packaged. I really can’t complain about how tidy it was packed and the polystyrene around the parts. As with anything flat packed, you do need to understand how to put a lego set together. Having a lego set when you were a child would be a bonus for understanding the instructions. The instructions are very clear if you read very carefully and ensure you take notice of what parts go where and what screws to use where. It’s not difficult to understand, but just requires being organised and ensuring you understand the parts before putting it together. If you do that, it’s a breeze. Some people have complained about left over plastic on some parts from the injection mould. In all honesty, when you buy anything that is injection moulded you should expect a little thin left over plastic. Mine did have this in one or two small places, but it is so thin that it is easy to break off.
Some people have complained about parts and screw holes not aligning up. This storage bench has some parts that require screws and some parts that require a push and clip mechanism. And then there are some parts that require both. I will admit, some of it does take a bit gentle of elbow grease, but if you buy it with that in mind, knowing you may have to put a little effort into putting it together then you won’t be disappointed. The fact is, as long as you ensure all the parts are clipped in or screwed in correctly, then everything will go together fine. You shouldn’t have to use modification techniques like some have mentioned. That just smells of the nightmare DIY enthusiast more like a nightmare on elm street. You shouldn’t have to force anything during the build process, but you will have to apply gentle pressure on some parts to get them to clip in. I gently banged some parts with the ball of my hand without any need to force and they went in perfectly.
Once put together, patiently, the bench is very sturdy. It will easily take the weight of two people, maybe three and maybe your dog if you have one. It looks damn good, and is an excellent alternative to a wooden bench. Better still, you can wash it down without it affecting the wood, as its not wood.
There is heaps of storage space. I have fitted my petrol strimmer, garden tools and some other tool bags in so far, and I still have tons of space.
I really recommend this to anyone looking for a good looking alternative to a wooden storage bench. The wooden ones I looked at were 300/400, this is just under 80. So really a bargain.
And if you don’t use it for garden tool storage, you could use it to store cushions or anything else you use outdoors in the summer months. If you don’t use it for storage at all, then it is lightweight considering the size. If you go caravanning then, providing you have space in your caravan. You could stick this inside while you travel, and use it wherever you park up.
All in all, brilliant. All I can think is the other people who complained, were either being picky, or didn’t read the instructions correctly and used the wrong parts in the wrong places. Worse still, got their electric drill and chainsaw out to it. If you do that, then what can you expect.
Well, I did sweat and curse a little while putting it together but, if you’re patient and read the instructions carefully, you’ll end up with a brilliant garden seat/storage box. You have to be firm when assembling, making sure the plastic bits click together properly.
It’s a little bigger than I thought, with exactly the same ‘seating’ width as my two seater settee. And it’s comfortable! I have some external cushions on order, but I’d not have bothered I’d realised. It’s a pretty high seat too, so it’s great for those who struggle to get out of their armchairs.
I bought the cover to go with it, and I think the extra tenner is a worthwhile investment.
Take your time, have some spare change for the swear box, and you’ll end up with a great garden bench.
love this – am a pretty big lady due to disability and it feels very secure and stable to sit on, had help to assemble it and were no problems, chi dogs love it too – no gaps in the seat for little legs to get lost in and a perfect ‘jumpable’ height. lots of storage for outdoor bits and bobs too. colour is fine – but notice the dark seat gets very very hot in the sun. sadly – the matching much wanted ‘keter store it out max’ was a disaster as it was broken in the box so it seems to be a bit hit and miss what state these will arrive in – notice with the bench however it came with better packaging inside and polystyrene ‘wedges’ helping secure/protect. so the bench got 5stars, the ‘store it out max’ got a one and got returned (bit of a nightmare to do) – still lacking a storage box/shed so might try somewhere local that sells these ones with an easier returns process ‘just in case’ 🙂
Before buying, I was tempted to go with a wooden storage bench because I didn’t like the concept of a “plastic” bench and thought it would be weak. After reading reviews, I took the gamble and was quite pleasantly surprised. It actually feels solid when put together. No problem for couple of adults sitting on it.
Also in comparison to the wood benches, this one is waterproof. Its designed with ducts, so it won’t let water get into the storage compartment, and is slightly raised off the ground too.
Very happy with it. Definitely recommended.

Easy enough to put together, however some pieces seem a little less sturdy than I would have expected from Keter. I managed to put the bench together myself with no trouble. Some pieces needed a bit of persuasion to fit in but in the end they were OK. After a few months and a few big downpours it does seem to be watertight. The seat can get pretty hot in the sun, so cushions aren’t a bad idea, however I wouldn’t store them in the box as they could still get damp and mouldy.
There is plenty of space inside which we use to store garden toys and games. This also means the kids have easy access to them rather than rumaging around in the shed!
Overall we’re really happy with this, one star lost just for it’s slightly flimsy feel in places.
Everything is as it says on the box. A bit wary of my weight on it at first but it seems OK at the moment. I would have liked a fixing on the legs to fasten it in situ instead of being moveable. The last fittings at the back were very flimsy, poor, and I could not get them in properly. The space under the seat isn’t waterproof, water will get inside it. This will not affect the bench it is all plastic, only the items you store in it will be affected. Having said all that it does me perfectly, easy on the eye when in place, doesn’t look too plasticy and now positioned a great piece of furniture/storage. Throw all the kids balls, bats, buckets and spades etc into the storage bit, making the spot look tidier.

We bought this bench to keep outside our back door to hold garden shoes and stuff and to sit on when we change into our wellies and such. So a garden bench with storage is just the thing. The size is just right for us and it’s attractive in a nice light colour – the only light coloured one I found. The bench is also fairly comfortable and we sit on it just to drink a cup of tea outside. The only small complaint I have is that it’s very light and plasticky – which one would expect being made of plastic. But the lid warps a bit in hot weather and doesn’t always fit down properly. So it sometimes lets in rain if you don’t double check that the lid is fully down. It was very good value so I am happy. I can’t imagine how much we would have to pay for a wooden one even if I could find one the right size and have to repaint it every other year.
This is supposed to be kept outside, so I hope it won’t badly degrade too quickly. For now, I’m happy with it.

I get lots of compliments about this bench. Which is funny, because it’s clearly plastic when you’re up close, but a few people have asked where I got it from.
First, why did I buy plastic? Because I inherited some rotting wooden chairs with my garden and I wanted something that wouldn’t do that. Second, it has storage in the base, and storage is always good. (Though bear in mind this goes on my patio area; it wouldn’t be great on grass since it would (presumably) kill the grass underneath the solid base.
The best thing about this design is that the bench is very easy for one person to put together by themselves. All the parts are numbered; the instructions are in pictures; they are big pieces and it probably took ten minutes. I do have an electric screwdriver for the few screws though, so maybe add ten minutes if you don’t!
It’s solid and comfortable, and it doesn’t rot. There’s also nothing in my storage box yet, so it’s light and easy to move around.
