Bought this to tackle our 30ft monster hedge. We decided to go cordless this time and this worked very well. No hiccups and did a great job. Battery lasted and very easy to charge. Lighter than our last old trimmer so we’re happy. Overall…would recommend.

    Good value would recommend

Arrived on time. Unpacked, checked everything was there, charged battery, cut hedge. Not to heavy, used on a hawthorn hedge and battery life was not an issue. Great product and does a good job.

At first inspection upon arrival, I was pleased with the size of the trimmer / quality of the blades. It feels good quality and is built well. Battery charges quickly and lasts around an hour before it goes sluggish. I found the 3 button safety switches a bit tricky to use when reaching, but used rubber bands / tape to hold 2 down while using the 1 switch to operate. I have only used it twice so far but am pleased with the purchase and would recommend if you are looking for a good quality trimmer. 2 year warranty included.

Used for trimming hedges and trees, often requiring reaching; the lightess of the unit and length of the blade is good for this. The multiple safety switch is fussy, which I guess it has to be to provide the required level of safety!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWas so impressed by the cordless Strimmer I bought one of these to replace my petrol one that is on the way out.
After a few negative reviews I was surprised so contacted the company and they advised me the product was improved last year to solve a switch issue.

This is a 24v light weight cutter. I’ve used it on a really big side hedge and the battery lasted for an impressive time.

Felt secure and really cut well. I needed a second charge to finish it off but already had a spare battery from the Strimmer. (Did I say the Strimmer was also superb)

For the money I really can’t fault it. I’d like an option if a longer extended cutter you can angle to get to the tops. But for now I’m happy with this and a set of steps/ladders.

Cleva, can you please design a long one, and a chainsaw as I’d like to collect the set 🙂

10/10 for product and customer service. Even for 5 times the price It’s really amazing. For the money it’s an absolute beast of a tool. Just Buy one..

What a tool.. Can’t fault it in any way.

For years I have struggled cutting my front lawn hedge bushes and my wife is incredibly fussy and wants a nice straight edge and corner.
Over the year’s I’ve used our corded trimmer, hedge clippers, parrot nosed clipper and various other tools and none come any where near the level of efficiency as using this device not to mention the simplicity of use and the blades long reach.
Firstly the cordless feature is ideal, no more coiling endless wire. Just simply charge, load battery and I’m good to go.
The device is incredibly lightweight and I was done trimming the hedge in no time. The blades are also really long, making it so easy to cut large chunks of hedge at the same time ensuring it is nice and straight.
It genuinely saves lots of time too. Once done simply put the blade sheath on and slot into the shed. Simple as that.
    Recommended.

It is lighter than ordinary hedge trimmers, does not need to carry the cords all the time, the power is not reduced at all because of the lithium battery, the trim is very smooth, the saw blade is very hard, the trim area is naturally large, and the spherical trim is not a problem, probably The battery is very durable after three days of use.

What I love about this hedge trimmer is that it it light to use and feels well balanced, which means you can get a good swing action when cutting the hedge. The blade is made of good quality metal and is long, so you can cut high hedges to. It comes with a safety cover to protect the blades and the user which is very important. It is safer to use because it doesn’t have a cable to plug in and is instead battery operated. It comes with a battery and separate charger and an easy to understand set of instructions.
Overall this is a very good machine.

Lightweight and well balanced when holding

I was really impressed these exist which are battery powered.
I have a lot of trees which need trimming and thought this would be perfect with it being battery powered.
I charged the battery over night so not sure how long it took but it was ready for the morning.
It didn’t run out the whole time I was using it and I had around 20 trees to trim.
I thought it might not be powerful enough with it being battery powered but it definitely was.
It comes with a charger plug to charge the battery.
It feels relatively sturdy but not like I thought it would.

The Lawnmaster hedge trimmer is a cordless trimmer with a lot of power, it’s does not feel it has the quality of some of the more well know brands but at under 100 retail its one of the cheapest i have seen. I think we should look at this as a no thrills, get the job done sort of device, ok so the looks isn’t great but what about the use of it? Well there is safety feature, you need to push down on 3 separate pads in order to get the device to run. Once it runs, its not really loud, but you can certainly hear it, there is a huge sticker on the top of the trimmer saying the device is over 100 decibels, so i would recommend some hearing protection if you plan to use this for long duration at a time.
The trimmer is very powerful and can cut twigs which over 10mm wide with ease, i was impressed as i was not really expecting that.

The device is charged by disconnecting the battery and putting it on a dock, unfortunately there is no indicator on the dock, it’s on the plug, LED on adapter changes from Red to Green when charged.

Overall the hedge trimmer isn’t heavy as most of the shell is made from plastic, to be perfectly honest, i am no expert when it comes to hedge trimmers. What i can say is that this Hedge trimmer surprised me by doing a very good job at what it needs to do, its wireless and powerful, cuts twigs with ease, after all, who needs the cosmetic side of things, when really we going to bring it out and trim the hedge, then put it away in the garage/shed for another year. Get this and with the saved money, get something else for the bling. Recommended.

Powerful Battery Powered Hedge Trimmer that can cut twigs wider than 10mm!

Lovley little lightweight trimmer. Perfect for occasional maintenance. However it will struggle with thicker heavy branches – I found I needed to use my mains powered one for the heavy work and then because this was so lightweight it was perfect for neatening things up without having to ruin my arms and be consciously paranoid I was about to cut the mains lead on my other one.

Seems well built and was easy to use – the battery life is pretty good, I got around half hour of use before I noticed it started to lack its original power – however I did get another 10 minutes before it stopped. This was plenty for my hedge at least (around 10 metres)

Overall pretty impressed. Just don’t expect it to run for much longer than 30/40 minutes and don’t expect it to be able to cut through thick branches easily. For what it is and the price it costs I think its more than reasonable.

Autumn is not the best time to buy a trimmer but this one does seems good value for the price. First impression was a decent quality well made product and from the limited use it has had it seems to do a good job.. It has the normal three way safety system which involves one hand holding a combination of two buttons while the other hand sqeezes the on/off switch. Easy to do and safe.

My only reservation is battery availability. My workshop battery tools are all one well known make and all take the same battery which is easily available from multiple sources and other makers provide batteries that fit. With this trimmer I spent some time on line but was unable to find any batteries available. That could limit the products life if the battery fails and limits running time as one cannot have one in use while another is charging. Battery life seems good for a domestic garden but its good to have a spare ready. Charger looks a bit basic as well although, so far, it does the job.

Got a big bush? Does it need a trim?

This is the LawnMaster CLHT2452-01 52cm Cordless Hedge Trimmer with 24v Battery and Charger. Measures 93 x 10 x 16cm and weighs 2.5kg.

If you have some light shrubs that need a trim, this is for you. The 52cm blade has 15mm gaps, but I wouldn’t go too thick.
When charged from 3-5hrs you will get a good 40 mins usage depending on width of twigs.
The benefits of being cordless is great, I have no fear of cutting through the cable, and also I can use in the damp. I do like the safety feature, as you cannot use just the trigger, there is a three point safety structure. Peace of mind that my kids won’t do a Leatherface!
When using it moves well, the handles are comfy and you have complete control using both grips. Probably could do with some silicone or rubber.
I used on some mature privet and it handled the more junior parts no problem, but when you got to thicker parts, it struggled. It isn’t great on hawthorn either. But one thing it absolutely creams is bramble, we have a lot if blackberry / raspberry bushes.
It even handles some long grass and weeds easily. I had to clear my Dad’s garden, as he got lazy, and this was a great help. Unsure what I’d have done without this and a strimmer. Just wish I had a spare battery, as 40 mins ain’t too long. But when running it works well, and isn’t that loud considering.

Overall I would recommend this for bramble, conifer and light privet. Anything bigger you’ll need a bigger boat.

Useful for trimming them out of control bushes

Overall I am please with it – It cuts, It’s light enough, It’s safe, enough battery life, It’s simple to use, what else can I want?

This is a lightweight, compact cordless trimmer. Its blade measures approximately 52 cm and the whole thing weighs 2.61kg.

I put the battery on to charge and I would say it took about three hours to be fully charged. There is no indicator to let you know how much battery life is left though.

There is a safety system on this trimmer, in that you have to hold two buttons down while you are using it, so you need both hands on the handle to use it.

I only have a small garden with a few shrubs, so I used this to trim them back and it made it so easy and relatively quick. It did struggle on the thicker branches though, but then this is a hedge trimmer and not a chainsaw so it worked very well for what it is. What I did like is that there are no cables to worry about as you work!

Overall this is a lightweight cordless hedge trimmer that is easy to to use (even if the two switch system is a bit fiddly) and works very well. I’m very pleased with it.

This trimmer comes with a protective sheaf. and has battery and charger included.
The build quality seems ok and whole thing weighs I’d say something like 3kg which makes it fairly manageable to wave around.
In order use it, you need to hold down the safety button at the front, which enables you to then press down the on switch at the top (you can then release the front safety button). Whilst holding down the on switch, you can then hold down the trigger and after a second it starts moving the blade back and forth.
The blade and motr only have enough power to cut light plants and perhaps this season’s growth on a hedge. Do not expect this to be able to cut branches – it literally gets stuck, the motor is simply not powerful enough – you probably want an electric saw or chainsaw for that.
Note also, that this hedge cutter is not telescopic, so don’t expect to be able to reach much beyond your arms reach – so 3 metre high hedges, you might want to think again.

Overall, this hedge trimmer will see you for lighter growth, the price is around the right ballpark, not the cheapest, but almost not the most expensive.

Very pleased with the new hedge trimmer which I have worked with steadily now for two or three days. Cordless is definitely the way to go against the old model I used to have. It feels like there is a little less power but this is compensated for by the ease of use.

It’s a little heavy and sometimes feels awkward to use but I’ve been astounded at how much faster this tool gets my regular high hedge-trimming tasks done.

It can feel a little hard to direct precisely so I usually run it along a hedge-top a second time — then, bingo, you step back andRead more about review stating Does the job satisfactorily and see that the whole task is finished. It get things done very quickly. High hedge-trimming is a small proportion of hedge-trimming in our large garden but proved surprisingly time-consuming before I got this tool.

Now I’ve got it, I find I don’t need to use it that much because it does the job so fast! I am very glad I bought it for how much it will save my time over the years

A wonderful hedge cutter, and so light to use.

I find I use it much more frequently than when I used a mains-powered electric cutter.

Now I can occupy a few spare minutes with a quick trim – no need to go to all the bother of getting extension cables out, and no danger of cutting the cord.

And it is quiet – no need for ear protectors, unlike petrol hedge cutters.

A cordless trimmer. It’s very lightweight, and comparatively compact at about twenty inches long. The battery takes about three hours to charge, and though there is no indication of how much charge there is or how much there’s left, it’s certainly enough for an hour in the garden trimming your hedges. I think this is a bit of an odd oversight, as it surely wouldn’t have added a great deal to the cost of manufacture. The grip is the usual 90 degree two handed safety set up,

There is a big sacrifice in power in exchange for lightness and portability: This is really for keeping hedges in trim and nothing much else: It claims to be able to cut boughs up to three inches in diameter, but I think that would very much depend on the wood.

However, it isn’t claiming to be anything else but a hedge trimmer, so it mainly gets a pass there, as it is quite competitively priced in it’s market. A good buy if you’re sure that your not going to need it for anything more than keeping the hedge in shape.

A light trimmer for some light trimming.

As long as you realize this hedge trimmer is a relatively light-weight model, designed for intermittent, occasional, and only moderate, domestic use and not as a professional work-horse, in use day after day then you will find it eminently satisfactory. It is powered by a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery, which is quite flat in shape and fits smoothly and easily into the underside of the trimmer, completely out of sight. The 24 volt 2 amp-hour battery is slightly more powerful than other manufacturers trimmers with a similar specification and in the same price range. I found the battery lasted over 40 minutes, but I was not using the trimmer continuously, only in a series of active, then inactive, trimming bursts. Nevertheless, it lasted longer than my arms, which were growing tired and were asking for a rest. However, at 2.5 kg the trimmer is not particularly heavy and I would rate it as comfortably light weight.

A charger is included and the battery slid in and fitted the charger easily. Re-charging was quick and full charge was reached in just over an hour, with a red/green light indicating charging/finished charging. This is much quicker than the 3 to 5 hours quoted. In use, I found the trimmer operated quite quietly, just the clicking sound of the reciprocating blades, consequently noise was definitely not a problem. The specification quotes 78 to 92 decibels, but in experience I felt it was considerably less than that. Overall, the machine seems to perform better than the rather conservative specification would indicate.

The cutting blade is 52 mm in length and I found this quite adequate. There are longer trimmers available, but I do not think there is much advantage in using a longer one, since this one cut as quickly and efficiently as any of the others I have ever used. You have to remember to oil the blades regularly, both while in use and in storage. The main body is plastic and I wondered how robust it would be in the rough and tumble of everyday use and how long the plastic parts would last? Close inspection revealed the plastic quality to be reasonable and I feel it should last at least as long as the lifetime of the trimmer motor.

Unusually, there are three switches necessary to press to get the trimmer to start, two on the front handle and one in the form of a trigger on the rear handle. The two safety switches on the front handle prevent accidental starting and it is necessary to keep them firmly pressed during operation to prevent the quick-stop brake from stopping the blades, which will automatically happen the instant the switches are released. I personally felt all these multiple safety switches were a bit over the top, and made holding the trimmer a bit awkward and uncomfortable.

The specification claims the trimmer can cut branches up to 15mm thickness I suspect this applies only to herbaceous plants, not to woody perennials and trees. I tried to cut some tough brambles 10mm thick and it failed initially during the first pass and it took three to four passes before it completely severed the prickly shoots. That is not bad, and more or less what I expected. It cuts through other thin woody perennials instantly and relatively easily.

Overall, an effective light-weight hedge trimmer, with good specifications, reasonably priced, fit for purpose, and with the greater versatility and freedom of being cordless.

This hedge trimmer is better than I expected to be honest, it cut as good if not better than my mains electric trimmer. Our hedge is quite unruly, (a mix of plants and trees) and high, I’d cut it in late summer but it was shooting away again. This trimmer cut through the hedge easily, the whole job took less time than I expected. It did struggle on some thick branches but nothing that surprised me and I managed the whole job using the battery straight out of the box. When I did eventually charge the battery it only took a few hours. The weight is not too heavy and it’s easy to move around as you’re not constantly looking to make sure you don’t cut through the power cord.

My only dislikes are that the safety switch is awkward to keep hold of and can be a bit hit and miss as to whether you press it in enough. There does seem to be a slight delay from pulling the trigger, pressing the safety switch and it turning on, but it always turned on so that might be normal. The other niggle is that there is only one battery, at the price it’s probably asking too much but I think something like this should always have a spare with it, 40mins on a full charge isn’t long if you have a lot of hedge. All in all it though does what it says it does.

    No cutting the cord!

Lightweight hedge trimmer. First thing is to charge the battery. There’s a light on the plug that goes from red to green when fully charged and takes about three to four hours to fully charge. It’s very easy to use and can cut branches up to 15 mm thick which is ok for trimming. You have to use two hands to use as there is two safety buttons to use with your left hand and a trigger with your right, sometimes this is a bit fiddly. After use remove battery clean and use a light oil on blades. I’m very happy with it maybe not as powerful as a plug in lead one but makes it easier for a quick trim.

This is a smallish cordless hedge trimmer (end to end is about 95cm) in the LawnMaster range from China-based Cleva, and fully supported by Cleva Europe Ltd in Newcastle. Unpacked it, charged and then fitted the battery, and set out to trim our rather untidy hedge which is at the back of the garden and awkward to reach with a mains cable. Usage is straightforward, with dual switches for safety so that you have hold them both on with two hands before it operates.

The 24V battery is more powerful than some at this price level and it was effective for the task, the main caveat being that if you are used to a mains powered hedge cutter, as I am, you need to adjust to having a bit less grunt available. That said, I found I could cut through some quite chunky twigs (unfortunately we have some small trees trying to grow in our hedge), especially if you get the angle right. The specifications are for a branch up to 15mm thick but in practice some branches are tougher than others!

Noise is rated at 98 dB(A) and didn’t seem too bad though earplugs might be wise for extended use. Up to 40 minutes on one charge is claimed but I found 30 minutes more realistic; in practice that is fine for me. It is possible to buy a spare battery and the same battery used by multiple power tools — a good thing.

Happy so far and there’s no doubt that a cordless hedge trimmer is much more convenient as well as avoiding the risk of slicing through the cable!
