Good torch whilst batteries last!
Had this torch for literally just over a year. It has good brightness and really helps when out walking the dog to avoid most things you would not want your dog to eat! However, my only criticism is be prepared for the cost of replacing expensive D batteries more often than you would expect. My old torch would go for nearly six months of early morning and late evening walks without losing good light output. With this torch I am only getting about 2 months of use before the light output is too low to make it useful. Expensive to use but strong feel and good light output deserves 4 stars.

Tengo una Maglite 3D de las primeras led que salieron, creo que andar por los 100 lmenes, y quera actualizarla. Compar la Maglite ML300L de 625 lmenes con esta Led Lenser y me decid por la LED Lenser por un par de razones principalmente: ms luminosidad y mayor facilidad de uso, tanto en el zoom como en la gestin del encendido. Como la P7, slo tiene 3 modos, turbo, alto y bajo, enciendes con un toque, y apagas con dos, el turbo sale en cualquier modo, encendido o apagado, pulsando a medias el interruptor. De todas maneras, la perfeccin para mi gusto es encender y apagar con un solo toque; compr una linterna barata en un supermercado alemn que todos conocemos, con 300 lmenes, zoom, 5 modos y sin memoria, enciende siempre en el mximo y apaga con un toque, eso es perfeccin para m, no me explico cmo linternas mucho ms caras no incorporan este sistema. No es una queja, es una sugerencia, estoy encantado con la linterna, muy contento con la eleccin, recomendable sin duda.
Hochwertige Taschenlampe von LED-Lense
Wer einmal LED-Lenser gekauft hat, wird auch die P17 mgen. Gute Verarbeitung – wie man es gewohnt ist. Klar ist natrlich, dass bei jeder Taschenlampe irgendwo auch die Grenzen liegen. Immer grer heit dann halt auch nicht immer noch heller. Wem die Lampe zu gro ist, dem empfehle ich die P7 von LED-Lenser. Um einiges kleiner – aber dennoch sehr starke Leistung.
Torcia professionale extra quality!
Veramente una torcia fatta come si deve, da utilizzo sia amatoriale che professionale.
Super robusta, rifinita benissimo sin nei particolari, molto potente con un fascio di luce netto e ben definito, modulabile in ampiezza utilizzando la regolazione rotante della testa della torcia.
Acquisto raccomandato per chi vuole un bell’ oggetto che faccia tanta luce.
Ich habe die P17 seit knapp zwei Jahren im Winterhalbjahr tglich fr Gassi-Runden auf dunklen Feldwegen verwendet, zustzlich das gesamte Jahr ber tglich, um mit dem Hund nachts vor dem Schlafengehen noch einen kurzen Abstecher in den Garten zu machen. In Anbetracht dieser tglichen Nutzung hat sich die Lampe als recht verlsslich herausgestellt. Zur Funktion, schaltbar ist ein “High Power”- (ca. 400lm) und ein “Eco”-Modus (ca. 100lm), die durch Weiterdrcken des Anschalters nacheinander aufgerufen werden. Wird der Schalter nicht bis zum Umschaltpunkt durchgedrckt, aktiviert sich ein temporrer “Boost” von 1000lm Helligkeit, der allerdings nicht als Dauerschaltstufe zur Verfgung steht. Die “High Power”-Schaltstufe ist allerdings fr die dargestellten Zwecke schon sehr komfortabel, 1000lm Dauerleistung vermisse ich nicht wirklich. Konsequenz der Belegung aller Funktionen mit einem Schalter ist, dass man bei jedem Umschaltvorgang, auch beim Ausschalten, immer kurzzeitig den “Boost” aufblitzen lsst. Etwas seltsam, strt mich aber eigentlich nicht. Da sich die Lampe bei dem dargestellten hufigen Gebrauch doch recht schnell durch die Batterien frisst, habe ich vor wenigen Wochen eine wiederaufladbare P7R Core erworben, obwohl ich mit der P17 eigentlich sehr zufrieden war.
Warum gebe ich nicht fnf Sterne? In den knapp zwei Jahren des tglichen Gebrauchs kam es drei- oder viermal vor, dass der Schalter nicht ansprach. Erst nach Schtteln, Batterien raus und wieder rein etc. war er wieder zum Funktionieren zu bewegen. Die Befrchtung steht im Raum, dass dies sich als der zeitlich limitierende Faktor der Lampe herausstellen knnte, sprich der Schalter irgendwann endgltig seinen Dienst versagt. Dank der sieben Jahre Herstellergarantie kann ich dem jedoch mit Gelassenheit entgegensehen.

Non mais vraiment a arrache les yeux, il ne faut jamais tre en face.
Elle claire loin et fort avec une trs belle autonomie.
Heureusement qu’il y a 3 modes d’clairages et un rglage de la focal.
Bon bien sr, elle est encombrante mais sur ce type de torche, on s’en fiche.

Ich habe mir die P17 LED gekauft um meine 4 D-Cell Maglight LED abzulen.
Die Helligkeit ist absolut ausreichend um ein Grundstck von 1000m2 abzuleuchten / zu durchsuchen. Aber auch beim Spazieren druch den Wald ist die schwache Stufe perfekt und wenn man die zweite Stufe schaltet kann man sehr weit sehen. Das Fernlich kann temporr (durch gedrckt halten des Schalters) hinzugeschaltet werden. Die Sichtweite ist beeindruckend. Ich bin eh ein Ledlenser Fan und habe bereits mehrere kleinere Modelle. Aber die P17 ist echt eine Taschenlampe die man(n) haben mu!

Nach gut einem Jahr im Einsatz, mitgelieferte Batterien (LEDLENSER, Hersteller nicht angegeben) jetzt ausgelaufen und im Gehuse festgeklebt. Habe versucht direkt bei LEDLENSER Garantie in Anspruch zu nehmen. Bei auslaufenden Batterien greift die Garantie nicht. Das nenne ich sehr verbraucherfreundlich, konnte leider nicht vorhersehen wann die Batterien auslaufen. Also in Zukunft Markenbatterien einbauen!
It's a weapon!
Absolutely love this weapon, sorry torch! Very very bright and it’s nice to have something with a bit of weight to it. Excellent build quality would buy another if I felt the need.

C’est une lampe lourde, ce qui augure bien de sa solidit … qui peut tre utile dans certaines circonstances …
Comme signal par des commentaires, le clip de ceinture est trop dur, mais cela ne me parait pas grave.
Le bouchon viss des piles est un peu difficile dvisser, mais en plaant un collier lastique sur chaque partie on y arrive trs bien sans abmer le vernis de finition.
Ce produit, comme tous les produits Led Lenser que je connais, est un produit srieux, adapt un usage professionnel intensif. Je le conseille fortement.

Diese Taschenlampe ist der Hammer, was die Helligkeit betrifft!
Groe Reichweite mit dem gebndelten Strahl.
Dazu solide verarbeitet und ansprechend verpackt.
Einziger Schnheitsfehler ist, das hchste Helligkeitsstufe nur durch Halten des Ein-/Aus-Schalters mglich ist.
Fr die meisten Anwendungen wird aber auch die “normale” 1. Stufe ausreichen.
Eine Tolle und sehr helle Lampe mit eine super Leuchtdauer.
Zwei Punkte, die zu den Stern Abzug gefhrt haben sind die unhandliche Gre und die Tatsache, dass fr den “Turbo”-Modus der Knopf gehalten werden muss.
Fr meine Zwecke leider zu unhandlich, um sie immer dabei zu haben ist sie einfach zu gro und zu schwer, auch wenn sie praktischerweise auch super zur Selbstverteidigung verwendet werden kann.
Sehr gut, aber groß und schwe
Hatte die LEDlenser TT und die P17 bestellt. Die P17 ist deutlich grer und schwerer als die die TT. Im Helligkeitsvergleich stellte sich heraus, dass der Unterschied gar nicht so gro mehr war. Also meine Empfehlung: Fr den Hausgebrauch ist man mit der TT sehr gut beraten, die P17 ist zwar noch etwas heller, aber dafr auch deutlich grer und vor allem schwerer. Ich behalte die P17 trotzdem, denn sie ist hochwertig verarbeitet und uerst stabil durch das Metallgehuse. Die kann ich auch sehr gut gebrauchen.

Livre dans un coffret solide, accompagn de trois piles type D comme annonc dans le descriptif ainsi que de l’attache pour la porter la ceinture.
Travaillant dans la scurit, elle rpond parfaitement mes attentes, temps sur le plan de l’clairage (1000 lumens en mode boost) qu’au niveau utilisation.
Seul petit bmol, le clip de ceinture est trs dur, il faut user de pas mal de force pour la clipser et la dclipser.
I own 3 LED Lenser products, a P7, P7.2 and a rechargeable head torch. I use LED Lenser because they are well, made, quality products, the torch is no exception. I used it alongside my P7.2 and it is a fabulous product. On boost it gives me 1000 lumen and extended reach on focussed beam. I’m not sure if it’s the advertised 450m as I’ve not measured the distance but it’s certainly hundreds of metres.
I’m glad I bought this torch and I can recommend it without hesitation.

Excellent torch-very powerful illumination. Well made should last a lifetime! Used for security work. Only problem is belt clip supplied is not compatible-a pity and unusual for German quality control?
Ignore any negative reviews, this torch is awesome – probably very similar to a car headlight in your hand, but even better because of the perfect light distribution. It is also very well made and comes with a 7 year Manufacturer’s warranty. Before buying this my best torch was a large LED Maglite – approx 27cm in length and 675g with 2 x D cell batteries. Admittedly the LED Maglite is a number of years old and is probably best decribed as a first generation LED torch. This LEDLENSER weighs in at 800g with 3 x D cell batteries and is around 31cm long. It totally blows my large LED Maglite out of the water. LED torch technology has improved massively in recent years! Unlike my Maglite which just has a reflector, the P17 LEDLENSER also has a lens which distributes the powerful light very evenly You will not be disappointed if you buy one. Despite the fantastic light output it is also highly efficient and has an impressive battery life. As far as I am aware (and contrary to what you might assume) the P17 is a later and more powerful version of the P17.2 and the P17 is currently selling for LESS than the P17.2 on Amazon. If you want a good quality powerful torch without getting a mortgage – buy one!!
Bought this as an upgrade from my P17.2 (450 lumens) which I’ve had for over two years now, and I can say it’s a welcome improvement in the lumen output! The noticeable differences when comparing the two are the flood lighting on my older P17.2 is actually wider, close to a meter or so wider in fact, (this is due to the lens, P17.2 on the left in my photo) but the spot lighting when fully zoomed is where the newer P17 excels, it’s wider and a lot brighter which is the main reason I bought these torches, finding my pooch when she runs off in a big open field on a dark winters night! It’s water resistant for any heavy downpour, I’ve been out in a heavy downpour for at least an hour an a half with no issues, just make sure to wipe it off when you reach home!
It’s reassuringly heavy, at nearly 800g with the batteries inserted, but not too lumbersome for long walks, which makes me feel at ease when walking through dark woods at night knowing you’ve got something that could easily knock out those with bad intentions!
Very sturdy, only downside is the belt clip, very rigid plastic with little give so it will take the paint off if you use it, but I’ve never bothered with it! Dropped the torch many times, even on concrete and just the usual scuffs and scrapes but nothing which would effect the actual use of the torch, ignore Dr. Colin’s review!
As others have mentioned, the battery cap is screwed on incredibly tight when it first arrives, but I just used the soft foam packaging sheet it came with as some extra leverage and it came off easily, DONT USE MOLE GRIPS OR PLIERS!
All in all, well worth the price considering it’s less than what I paid for my original P17.2!

Had this torch for 3 years now and it still amazes me how good it is. The focus beam seems to go on for ever and the floodlight function lights up a big area. Absolutely love it and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.

I bought this after reading the reviews and it is bright but not quite as bright as my buffalo river led pistol grip torch which was half the price of the p17.

The best torch in the world, reassuringly heavy and robust easy to operate and the illumination it provides is, well, like having daylight in your pocket. Comes with a solid belt clip with multi settings. Only slight problem, the end cap was screwed on far too tight, I had to loosen mine by using a pair of mole grips, there is no need for this as the end cap has an o ring seal that might get damaged with excessive force. Other than that, get yourself one, you will not regret it.
So many LED torches make big claims. This one really does perform. It is super bright, believe the 1000 lumen output and it will pick out the opposite end of the street.
Well made, solid, easy to use, easy to focus.

Sehr gute Qualitt. Leuchtet hervorragend . Nicht gerade billig und liegt auch relativ schwer in der Hand. Ansonsten erfllt die den Zweck und leuchtet hell und weit. Wenn es drauen kalt ist , khlt die Ummantelung auch sehr stark. Ein Kunststoff berzug wre hierfr super. Klar, Handschuhe tun es auch . Sehr gutes Produk
Received this product today, didnt realise it was as big as it was but it has unbelievable power compared to even my led lenser m7.2 which is micro but packs a punch, for the price, it is an absolute bargain, even compared to my 700 lumen, 12 w led torch which i thought was great, this blows it away in terms of build quality and its spot light when focused in is still big and shines so so far when it’s on 1000lm mode, definitely worth the price I paid , very impressive, would recommend highly
Finde die Lampe zu diesem Preis super, die dimmstufen sind finde ich gut gewhlt, da man mit der niedrigsten Stufe nicht alle anwesenden Personen stndig blended. Die zweithellste Stufe ist vllig ausreichend normalerweise. Und der “Booster”, fr welchen man den Knopf der Lampe gedrckt halten muss, hat wirklich eine sehr hohe Leuchtkraft um Beispielsweise eine sehr groe Flche auszuleuchten.
Der Grtelclip ist drehbar, somit ist es nicht ntig die Lampe immer vom Grtelclip zu lsen.
Alles in allem tut sie genau das was sie soll und das auch noch sehr gut. kann sie nur weiter empfehlen.

Ero alla ricerca di una torcia a led con caratteristiche uniche. Led lenser non delude mai. Dimensioni simili ad una vecchia maglite 3D ma con un fascio luminoso regolabile che parte da 1000 lm – 400 lm – 100 lm.
Distanza di fascio luminoso di circa 300 metri.
La sto utilizzando per fare servizio notturno ed davvero un ottimo oggetto. Per quanto riguarda la durata delle batterie per ora non ho ancora avuto l’occasione per testarla a dovere. Pesantezza giusta e comoda la clip regolabile.
La consiglio per ogni tipo di attivit considerando la convenienza del prezzo.

Sehr helle und gleich mssige Aus leuchtung. Die Helligkeits abstufungen sind optimal. Die beste Taschen lampe, die ich bisher hatte.
Hier ist die Qualitt dem Preis entsprechend. Natrlich gibt es genau so helle Lampen auch fr deutlich weniger Geld, aber ich schtze die Lebensdauer dieser Lampe deutlich hher ein als bei einem “Schnppchen”.
Excellent quality- it feels heavy and well made. All the battery contacts and the spring in the tailcap are gold plated. To activate boost mode the button has to be held down. The 3 settings are:
Boost= 450 metres at 1000 lumens for 15 hours
High= 300 metres at 400 lumens for 50 hours
Low= 150 metres at 100 lumens for 300 hours
All comes in a nice presentation/ gift box with a belt clip, batteries and 7 year warranty (if you register your product).

Qualitt ebe
