If your a fan of the life is strange games then this one won’t disappoint you, as it’s a brand new story, this time the game is all on the disc unlike the others that only give you the first chapter then you had to be online to get the rest of the game, the story is quite good about a girl who has a different set of powers to feel what others do, if they feel rage she feels it, if they feel scared she does too, after a accident involving her brother she has to use her powers to uncover the truth. On the PlayStation Store this Game is 49.99, so its a deal on here for a PS5 copy for 17.99, if you are into these kind of games.

My son wanted this game. He used his Amazon gift card to buy it. When it came he ordered for his Switch but it was for the ps5. He decided to keep it because his uncle has one. He said the graphics are so beautiful and real like it’s unbelievable. He really likes it and can’t wait to get further into the game. And now he wants to order one for his Switch.

Different to the other two games but it was still a good game. I thought it lacked the emotional connection to the characters like the other two had but that’s just my opinion. 🙂

This game visually was stunning and I found the game play easygoing and relaxing. There was some surprise plot twists. Overall enjoyed this one

Alex chen is a great main character and her acting goes great with the next level facial animations. the game is gorgeous too, ended up taking over 120 screenshots ingame. get i

I found that after the original LiS, the series began a downward trajectory, with LiS2 being my least favourite. However, I find True Colours (TC) to be possibly the best LiS game so far and I will explain why below.

The graphics don’t appear to be leaps and bounds ahead of the previous entries despite being on the PS5. There are definite improvements with character models, environments and overall fluidity, but also nothing jaw-dropping and even some FPS drops at times. Having said that, few of us play LiS for ground-breaking graphics; the slightly anime style works really well here. The town of Haven is characterised beautifully with its serenity alongside an atmosphere of “there’s something bigger going on here”.

The gameplay of TC adds a refreshing gimmick allowing you to basically read people’s minds. It’s portrayed as Alex being a bit of an empath who feels other people’s emotions and this leads to basically telepathy. This created interesting scenarios in whether to respond to someone’s emotions and help them or not.

There is one specific chapter where you are sent on a LARP quest that was rather tedious to find some items, but this was livened up by adding fun RPG-like turn-based combat, and I appreciated them attempting something different without dragging it out.

The game boils down to conversations and the choices you make. I’m not so sure of whether my choices did actually make much of a difference, but then again my play-style is a mediator rather than rocking the boat. I can’t say much more without spoiling the game.

Speaking of story, this is probably my favourite story so far. It doesn’t drag on too long, it’s not set in an adolescent coming-of-age high school context (looking at you, Max) or full of teenage angst (looking at you, Chloe). Alex can be a little bit bland but I think the idea is for us to mould her via the choices we make, and overall I found her possibly the most likeable protagonist so far in the series. Again it’s hard to dig deep in this area of the review without spoiling so I fully encourage you to play for yourself and go in blind.

Overall, TC was a pleasant surprise. I was worried about the direction of the series and LiS2 didn’t exactly enthral me. TC shows a zenith of the series to the extent I now wonder what can come next given how much material and contexts they have traversed so far. LiS seemed like it could have been forgotten after the original, but TC makes it all worthwhile. Also of note is that I achieved a Platinum trophy without too much monotony, so perhaps that biases me too. Like every LiS, TC is a story-oriented game so you should know what you’re in for, but for me it is definitely recommended.

Was so happy to hear that another of this series was being released and enjoyed playing but somehow this time I felt a little ‘short changed with this game.
The others had more to do, more side games, more interaction and play – and while this one had a good storyline it just felt rushed. There is such a market for this type of game and while I will always be loyal to the Life is Stange games and family I was left wanting more, not in a new game way (although I will of course always want for that) but in a… I wish there had been more in this game as I feel a bit empty and deflated.

Like I say, the story line was good; you will find no spoilers here. The characters I found interesting and warmed to them instantly and Alex is a good lead to play and you become involved in her and her story.
The town is amazing, the kind of place in which the scenery takes your breath away and the detail painstakingly perfect so well done in that respect as I wouldn’t change a thing.
I just want more gameplay so lost a star for that and that alone.

As with all the other LiS games this has a great story. But like the others it’s a pretty short adventure. It’s only around a 10hr game all in and can be platinumed very easily. I bought the ultimate version in digital as you get the remastered editions of LiS and before the storm at a later date.

I have always really enjoyed the Life is strange series. This one in particular has kept me gripped throughout. I’m now on my third run through trying to get the different endings. The soundtrack is beautiful, with tracks from Novo Amor, Angus and Julia Stone, Dido and Mira Masa feat Ellie Rowsell and Wolf Alice. Bit of kings of Leon thrown I just for good measures. Been a pleasure to play

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLiS 2 was my least favourite and made me skeptical about whatever would come next. But True Colors was a pleasant surprise.

Great story. Twists I didn’t see coming. Amazing music very few people know.

A true LiS game from start to finish

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI love this series, and I’ve completed all past LiS games. At time of writing I’ve completed just the first chapter (out of five) which took me about three hours. All episodes are on the disc at launch.

Characters, music, plot are all excellent. The opening was a little abrupt, and when you first gain control of your character, you’re in a hugely detailed environment that made it painfully clear the game was running at 30fps, and not 60. Within ten seconds of playing (walking), you find yourself in a “zen moment” which you have to exit out of once you’re tired of looking at it; I thought that was a really odd way to start the game.

Soon enough you get introduced to a bunch of interesting characters. Alex has a phone with social media and SMS apps so you can read more about the community and her friends. There’s a returning character, lots of little details and easter eggs that series fans will love, and the dialogue is entertaining and natural.

Overall the game seems great so far. I noticed a couple of very brief graphical glitches that disappeared as soon as I saw them. No biggie. I am disappointed about the framerate and the lack of a special edition (again, no soundtrack CD) but the game itself is pretty good. I would definitely recommend this over LiS2 and who knows, it might even live up to the original by the end (although the opening sequence was far less iconic.) Here’s hoping for a 60fps patch.

Edit: Now that I’ve finished the game I feel a little underwhelmed. The last two episodes amounted to about 2.5 hours total. The game is about 8-9 hours long.

Pros: Good characters, good soundtrack, interesting story.
Cons: Little-to-no replayability. Graphical glitches. Scenes started and ended abruptly (the ending of chapter 3 was particularly bizarre and underwhelming). A choppy 30fps performance.

I think this 9-hour experience was enjoyable but not worth 49.99. The COLLECTOR’S edition of the original LiS was half of that and it came with an art book and audio CD. Plus there’s the DLC coming out for another 10… don’t push your luck, Deck Nine.

7/10 (grudgingly rounded up to 4 stars.)
