The light is light-weight and easy to fit, simply hang it on a nail or screw. That also means it could be stolen, so best put it out of immediate reach. The unit seems weatherproof and the sensor is sensitive. These are a good backup for those areas where you have no easy mains power supply.

It took me ages to get round to installing this, because of not wanting to go out and do it in wet and cold weather, but now spring has arrived I went out and it was so quick and easy to do I realise I could have put it up a month or more ago.

I have this on the back wall of the house, lighting a patio. The solar panel only gets direct sunlight in the afternoon but the light is bright when we need it at night. Currently it is set at full brightness and is working well.

The cable from the light to the solar panel is really long, so this is suitable for having a light in a shaded place but having the solar panel in a more exposed location. That describes our front porch very well, and I am thinking about getting myself another one of these for that so we can see the keyhole and don’t have to leave the porch light on when going out with the dogs.

This is a lot less hassle to install than a mains-powered light which would involve drilling through walls and probably getting a proper electrician in. It could also be moved very easily if you change your mind about where to put it.

Ive fitted the light on a south facing wall, near my drive, it gives a reasonable lit area. The motion detector acts as a safety and security light, and due to being battery powered no wiring is needed or expensive electrician. It looks smart and is very practical

This is a good light. I would always prefer a mains one but this is far cheaper — there is no need to get an electrician out, for example.

    The light is bright.

The downside is that it really needs direct sunlight to charge the battery, and works far better the more light it receives — so it works better in a South or West facing position. As it is spring (at the time of writing), it does not last long but then it lasts long enough for me — it depends what you want it for. If you want it to light up an area for a short period a few times a night in winter, it’s great. And it’s good as a cheap, easy-to-install security light — I know when someone or something is setting it off (but really you need to install it out of easy reach, and any light can be disabled — it is about deterrent rather than prevention).

I have noticed an improvement as the days are getting longer as the sunlight charges the battery more.

We have used this to provide a light when motion is detected, and it works well. It’s been in operation a couple of months now without major issues other than the light appears a little less bright on occasion (not sure why?). It was simple to install, and obviously it works best in a sunny aspect (south facing wall for us). Reasonably priced, so does what it says.

The output is great. The solar power is really useful in an area where there is no convenient power source and the PIR motion sensor works very efficiently.

Luceco LED Solar Guardian Wall Lantern with PIR Motion Sensor, 16 x 15 x 12 cm, 2 W, IP44 Rated, Black is a solar power light which is handy for security. I like the fact it is solar-powered therefore I am able to put it in a corner where I needed more light but no electrical wires.
I have found it has worked well and the bright light it provides is perfect for the back of the house.
    Happy to recommend.

We live in quite a small village so there’s not a lot of light pollution, whilst this has its benefits it means the garden can be almost pitch black. We’ve installed this onto the shed so that you can see where you’re going upon approach, it was quick and easy to set up. The motion detection could be better but loving the solar power, will see how it does in the height of Winter though!

Once I figured out how to unclip the bracket from the light it was a doddle to set up. I am using it in my back garden as I have an area that is especially dark and I need to see where I am going for my safety as I put out a trail camera to record nature in that area every evening. Very little instruction needed to get it to work and the brightness is superb. I’ve been really happy with it and improved my sense of accessibility & safety out in the garden. Highly recommend.

Having recently put up a mains-operated security light for round by the back door, I was eager to have a light out the front too as it is extremely dark out there at night and trying to get down the less than level drive and path is a nightmare.

There are 3 modes on this light – one gives the ability to set the duration that the light is on for and although, as far as I can see, there is no means of setting a specific time i.e. 4 hours, there is a dial which you can just twist, giving a range of time from shorter to longer.
The second mode is motion sensor – the light coming on when it senses movement. This is the mode we have put ours on as we didn’t want it on all the time or for set periods. Where we have mounted it, I guess it picks up about a 4 metre range – but as our house sits down a slope below, I think if it was level then it would give a slightly longer range.
The other mode is LUX – of which, to be honest, we haven’t used as I’m not sure what it does, but from what I saw when I tried all the modes before we installed it, I think this setting enables the light to be on all the time.

The instructions aren’t very in-depth, but it’s fairly simple to work it out. There is a back panel that unscrews counter-clockwise and within this is the on-off switch. Once you’ve turned it on, you then replace the back panel and attach the light to wherever to you want it (fixings are included). We installed ours to the top of the garage.
Then you rotate the dial at the bottom of the unit (just above the white sensor) to select the mode you wish to use. You then need to rotate this dial back to face the wall/fence or wherever you have attached it to.

The twin lights are great and can be moved up and down independently of one another, but move side to side as a pair. The solar panel can also be angled up and down and comes with its own fittings for wherever you are going to attach it that to so that you can get maximum solar exposure. This may take a bit of moving around to find the best place, but there is a decent length of cable with it, so you should have no problems finding somewhere that will work best to catch the sun, even if you have to put it around the corner from the light itself. (We did this – the light is on the front of the garage, and the panel is facing the other way right down the other side).
I should mention that we charged our solar panel up initally before we installed the light by placing it in the conservatory and left it there for a day or so and it has worked like a dream since then, despite the rather weak winter sun. (We have ours set on motion mode, as that is what we wanted, but I don’t know whether the weak sun at this time of year would cope with the demand of a constant light).

It’s well made and sturdy and I think it offers decent value for money as the light it gives off is suprisingly bright and the fact that it is running without any cost is an added bonus. I’m very impressed with it so far.

I am happy with this product. The instructions were easy to follow and the light is simple to put up. The sensitivity is a bit low and have to be quite close for it to come on but when it does it casts a decent amount of light. It comes with one battery but says that it works optimally with 2 batteries, I found it strange that they didn’t include one or none at all.

Impressed with this solar security light so far (despite the dull midwinter days and nights when it gets much less time to recharge). I’m decidedly not the handyman type, so anything needing wiring would be impossible for me to manage – this, however, was truly simple and straightforward. The lighting fixture is secured by screwing its backplate to a wall/fence (screws included), then snapping the fixture onto the backplate. The solar panel also just needs screws – and, with its lengthy wire, needn’t be immediately beside the light, but best positioned somewhere higher and open to more direct daylight. There are some basic settings to adjust: how long the light comes on for, and the sensitivity of the motion detector. And that’s it. So far, so good … and it’s not running up the electricity bill every time the neighbour’s cat prowls by!

Robust construction with the look of a product that’s made of quality materials and well put together. The solar panel can be angled and can be fixed in position by a screwturn knob. It comes with fittings and instructions. The instructions were the only thing I wasn’t completely impressed with I think they could be a bit clearer. I have done some research and the price is good, this product is available at property price on some other websites but then when you are the delivery costs it isn’t. Compared to similar products I have seen it is sometimes 10 cheaper. It comes with a decent length of wire attached to the solar panel to fit the light, which gives you more options when placing the panel. you just fit the power connector to the socket in the light, nothing more complicated than that.
Once the fixing plate for the light is screwed into position, you install the light by twisting it onto the plate. When the light is twisted onto the plastic base it’s firmly secured but you only have to twist it off again if you want to get to the on off switch inside.
The lights quite bright, but obviously it will be affected by sunlight levels during the day. We already have experience with solsr security lights in our garden and although they can be very efficient when well made like this one, how bright they are and how long they shine for is affected by how much sunlight they get and in winter time this will be reduced. Generally I find that they work well and shine for most of the night.

The motion sensor is set very well, responding to people in the vicinity.
The dusk sensor is also set just right too. The lights switch on right when they are needed.
When these lights are switched on they are super bright! A serious amount of light from something being charged up by a solar panel!!
These can easily replace wired security lights around your property, being mounted on walls or fences.
I’m glad to have these added to my outdoor security set up.
    I highly recommend this item.

I have a garage at the end of my Garden, there is no power run to it and so I have never been able to have a security light fitted to it. When I saw this available, I was keen to try as it appeared to be the perfect solution!

Inside the box, you have the light unit and the solar unit with cable and a pack of screws. The installation was SUPER simple, the backplate of the light unit twisted off and exposed 2 screw holes. The solar unit then plugged in and it was ready for use!

The light even though taken from the box sprang to life as soon as it was dark. It’s quite bright, certainly enough for what I needed.

There are 3 dials on the base, one for brightness, one for sensitivity and one for the duration the light stays on. The BIG let down of this light was the sensitivity adjustment, although there was a large spectrum, it was either SUPER sensitive activating from approx 20ft away or not that sensitive at all approx 5ft.

If it were not for this flaw, I would have probably given it 5 stars!

This Luceco LED Solar Twin Security Wall Light has a very large and powerful light beam. The motion sensor is quite sensitive to movement, which can be easily adjusted depending on your needs.

I was surprised how well designed this light was. Two lights which rotate separately. A very long power cable so that the solar panel can be nearer the sunlight and the lamp where it is needed. Additionally there is an easy rotating on off switch at the base. This means that when I need the light I can reach up and turn it on rather than all the power being used up with the sensor on. Nice design, practical and value for money.

I’ve needed an extra security light for a while, but there was no easy way of getting power to the place where I needed it. Stupidly, it never even occurred to me to try a solar one until this became available via Vine. I might not have even tried solar if I’d had to pay for it, as I’ve never been overly impressed with anything that depends on British sunlight for its energy! But I’ve been both surprised and impressed with the Luceco solar solution.

It installed quickly and easily, and for a mere 30 (if I’d paid for it) I have to say it looks far more high-end than I would expect. It also works a treat, illuminating a difficult and distant corner of my garden. The lights are clear, bright, and reliable, and the motion sensor so far is doing a very good job detecting my cat – which, I’ll admit, was one of my main reasons for wanting light in this particular area. Now I don’t need to go wandering around with a torch at 2am to get her in!

All in all, I’m very happy with this product, and would certainly recommend it.

Luceco LED Solar Gaurdian Wall light with PIR motion sensor: I had intended this solar light for our static caravan, however it requires careful placement in order to light the area that required but also to benefit from the best of the sun and light, so instead it has found a home on our garden shed and during these dark evenings serves a great purpose should we need anything from the shed after 4pm.
The light itself is a good quality well sealed unit, two raw plugs and screws are provided so that the detachable fixing plate can be fitted to a wall or fence. Once fitted the light unit slips back onto the plate with reasonable ease, however The mode switch is then secreted within the fixing plate area and the light needs to be taken in and out should a change of mode be required, so it can’t be readily switched for the odd occasion. Their are 3 modes offering as described within the product information, basically the light will be activated at dusk, it will on for several hours, will provide a continuous low light but light fully when motion is sensed or, our preferred option, it only activated when motion is detected., turning off after 30 seconds of no movement. I have tried it on full light but it dimmed after about 3 hours, on the 3rd mode even with relatively little sun and reduced light it seems to last without issue.
As per info the light does activate at around 5-6 metres and certainly scares the cats or foxes wandering across the garden. To get the best from the light unit it does need to be well placed for catching the best light, this also means it’s out in the weather for the most part, so far it seems to be holding up well but only time will tell if it will maintain in the longer term. All in all a reasonable sensor light for a good price.

For a solar light, This holds a decent amount of charge, Giving me several hours of light, After a day in the sun. The unit is easy to install, With the fixtures and fittings provided. The lantern is around half a foot high, And does an excellent job at detecting movement. Since it’s only in use when the motion sensors are triggered, It saves a lot of power, Allowing the unit to pretty much function by itself without intervention.

    I am so impressed by this Luceco Solar Guardian Wall Light, it’s January with little or no sunshine here and yet this solar light has still managed to get enough energy to work brilliantly. I left it out on my patio table for the last couple of nights to see how it performs, at first I thought it wasn’t going to work, until I realised I had to press HARD on the white control on/off button under the slide off bracket. It has three modes;

Press once for Mode A – automatically turns on at dusk and remains bright up to 5 hours after which it turns off automatically.

Press twice for Mode B – automatically turns onto a full brightness mode when motion is detected within 6 metre range and then returns to standby ‘night glow’ mode where it’s a dimmed light on after 20 seconds of no motion.

Press three times for Mode C – automatically turns onto full brightness mode when motion is detected within a 6 metre range and then returns off after 30 seconds of no motion.

The light is lightweight and is 2W yet bright and comes with 2 screws and raw plugs and clear detailed instructions. It comes with a years warranty too.

I have tested out all three modes and they all work very well. I am genuinely impressed and therefore recommend this lamp. I’ve added some photos too, just remember to press the white switch down hard, I didn’t to begin with, and it works perfectly.

The Luceco solar powered LED twin security wall mounted outside light is quite well designed and works well or it shows signs it will! – I say this as having received this in December, a month not known for much sunlight or any real light for that matter, so it’s taken a fair while to charge itself up but it shows promise! A meaningful ‘deep’ charge would have been nice – like other similar devices we have, so I speak on past experiences – to get it up and running to its possible true potential but regardless it was easy to mount although this has the solar panel separate and so can be mounted in the best possible places to catch the sun (it will happen again I feel sure, the sun bit).. Priced around the thirty pounds mark (reviewed early January 2020) it’s not bad value but.. There is a separate slot for another battery in the rear of the light box, accessed with a cross-head type small screwdriver – see photos – but a replacement when needed or to add another, in being an obscure size and voltage at 3.7V, 2200mAh, Li-Ion, and not an ‘off the shelf’ size is around the ten pounds mark plus four pounds postage currently (no pun intended) on Amazon. Overall a nice light but it’s the cost of the battery as and when needed is a third of the actual price is a bit daunting thinking in the long term.

    Good, but..

a nice little light that we have put on our back fence, the light isnt over sensitive so it’s not blinking on and off every five seconds. It seems to do well in winter light as well as I’ve not had any issues with the light not charging during the day time. time will tell if it will late.

Instalation was easy enough, my brother put it up and said it was pretty simple.

I’m not sure how long it will last thou, I’m hoping the plastic Houseing is weather proof but again only time will tell.

This lamp to put at the side of the house to illuminate a narrow path when required I didn’t want to use a large flood style light as alongside is a neighbours window this was ideal to be mounted at just above head height and office just enough light to illuminate the ground 4 m either side without being large glare in the neighbours vision. It was pretty straightforward to install as long as you have basic electrical knowledge and are safe to do so and once installed it was really easy to set up adjusting the PIR sensitivity to suit my requirements.

Only time will tell how well this lasts but it seems pretty robust and well sealed against the elements so I think it should be fine for a number of years.

Small enough to fit into any area as long as you have sun to charge it (16x15x12 cm ) as it’s solar powered no wiring to bother about just use the screws and raw plugs to attach to were you like a wall fence anywhere really . It has three settings to pick from so pick the one best suited to you I like the one where the motion censor detects you lights up for thirty seconds then goes off that way no wasted power . Like I said it’s really stylish and would look great by your front door or anywhere you have no electricity ,so even on the darkest nights no more fumbling for your keys .All in all a really marvellous aid for all the family

For a solar charged light this gives off quite a pleasing amount of light. Not as much as an electric light, but this is great for where you don’t want to install an electric light. Once I had figured out how to detatch the bracket from the light it is really easy to install and with the choice of settings is an excellent light. Ideal for my driveway. Very impressed. It is plastic but feels quite sturdy and not cheapy at all.

From afar these solar-powered LED lights look just like regular security light and they do the job just as well. The only main difference is that is solar-powered, so no electricity bill.
There is a built-in PIR that detects any on-coming strangers and the light emitted is bright, perfect for illuminating my drive. What impressed me the most is how the solar panel can collect and store energy so efficiently.
Overall a very good security light that is flexible. It is not hindered by a mains power but is limited by the sun.

I was very pleased with the quality of this light. It is also fairly easy to,put up as the backing plate is put up first, using screws, then the part with the lights on fits over that. The solar panel then needs connecting, but you don’t need to be an electrician, it’s quite straightforward. ( I do some d.i.y. so I could manage all this myself.) I love the way you do not have to wire anything up to the mains, as I would not do that myself. The sensor is adjustable, as are the lights. A good light for outdoor security at a very fair price.

This is a review of the Luceco LED Solar Twin Security Wall Light, 23 x 18.5 cm, 4 W, IP44 Rated, Black as there are a number of other options on this listing and this is also worth bearing in mind when comparing reviews. It is supplied in a branded box along with fixings, instructions and a separate solar panel for charging the batteries terminated on a long lead.

A good feature of this light is the solar panel can be located away from the light allowing it to be positioned for the best access to sunlight without compromising the location of the security light. It has two LED lights that can be adjusted separately and provide a useful bright light when activated by the built-in PIR sensor. This can be adjusted for time and sensitivity the LED brightness can also be adjusted.

The unit is only IP44 rated and this should be considered when mounting. While it should be fine for external use it is probably better under eaves where it gets some shelter rather than being fully exposed. That said there is no evidence of water ingress in mine after a week of near torrential rain.

This is a good quality and well-designed security light offered with a 1-year warranty that can be located in locations other solar lights cannot due to the seperate solar panel.

This light is solar powered so doesn’t need batteries or wiring in, just putting where you want it with enough light shining on it. It has 4 modes: comes on at dusk and stays on bright; comes on at dusk stays bright for 20 seconds and then goes dimmer unless it senses movement; comes on when it senses movement after dusk, we chose the 3rd option. There is a mount that you screw to the wall and the switch for the different modes ends up being behind the mount once you put it onto the mount, making changing the mode impossible without taking the unit down, so it’s important to chose which mode you want before putting in place otherwise you’ll have to take it down again. It is bright enough to light your path but it probably isn’t bright enough to annoy your neighbours, unless they are very close.

We already have a wall light on the side of the house by the back door and another one at the back but there is a dark spot right on the corner so this is ideal for that.
