This is a magimix food processor that has every attachment anyone will ever need. It’s a heavy machine and takes a fair bit of kitchen side up, but I have had it a while now and am so pleased with the quality of this.
I would not normally have anything this expensive, only due to monetary issues but I would say, if you have the cash this is worth every penny.
You can see the quality even as you unpack it from the massive box it arrives in.
Love my magimix, I will never look back now.

This came delivered in a huge box and I thought that it was just the packaging that was large but I was wrong. The mixer itself is very large and does take up a lot of bench and cupboard space.
The mixer comes with 3 bowls that do everything from mixing, blending, juicing, blitzing and shredding. This is in addition to also coming supplied with a whisk and a dough hook. This is particularly useful for when we make bread to give a good knead on the dough.

Its fairly user friendly to use once you have picked which accessory you want to use thanks to only having 3 main buttons – stop, auto and pulse. They are easy to press and responsive.

The machine itself claims to be quieter due to the motor which i can confirm is definitely quieter than a blender i owned. Its never going to be silent but quieter is good.

The bowls are made of plastic which are BPA free. So far they have not stained and have been really easy to clean. I have put them in my dishwasher every so often for a good clean and they have come out fine each time including the blades although I wouldn’t recommend doing this continuously.

The parts are also very easy to switch in and out which means that it hasn’t really left the bench as we have found so many uses for it!

A very high quality and well made piece of machinery that will literally do anything and everything.

The unit itself looks nice in a nice cream colour and although it is large and bulky it does look stylish and not out of place.

    Very happy with this product!

    Really good food processor.

So far I’ve mainly created cake and fallafel. For falafel the larger main bowl and big motor really make the difference.

When I was offered a Magimix to review, I assumed that it was the latest offering from Haribo. I was picturing a mixture of jelly-based sweets featuring white rabbits, magic wands and red handkerchiefs. In the olden times you’d have to worry about whether the black top-hats might have been made from liquorice, although nowadays I’d trust that it would probably be a nice refreshing blackcurrant flavour. Nevertheless, these sweets sadly don’t exist. It turns out that the Magimix is actually an extremely expensive food processor.

The thing has plenty of different functions and it’s actually a little scary to see how many different attachments are included. However, the joint recipe book/instructions are rather well crafted to lead you through the process of knocking up some grub. The motor packs plenty of horsepower and will make short work of some carrots or eggs. To be honest, the main issue is really the amount of cleaning that follows on from use. If I fancy an omelette, I’ll probably still be more inclined to just pop the eggs in a bowl and give them a quick swirl with a fork. Similarly, if I fancy a slice of cheese on toast then it’s probably easier to just use a hand grater, rather than spend ages rummaging around for the right attachments. However, I’ll probably still whip it out every so often, if I need to make a decent souffl. You can’t cut corners when it comes to the Michelin-man star style of cuisine. I’m pretty sure that Charlton Heston from the Fat Duck would be happy enough with one of these, if he needed to produce some strawberry and liver broth. Definitely a piece of equipment for the most serious of kitchens.

PS if anyone from Haribo is reading, please note that I have filed my idea with the patent office. Although the name Magimix is taken, I have registered the name “Magical Mix”. Feel free to get in touch if you wish to negotiate over the rights.

What an amazing (and huge) set, it is literally everything you need to create so so many dishes. Baking, cooking, soups, sauces, smoothies! So many things to create.
Right so, personally the size is perfect for a large family, prepping and making dishes for a dinner party if you’re into that.
Iv found you can get through pretty much all tasks with this food processor, it has rendered a lot of my other tools useless as this does it all instead!
Cleaning wise, now that’s probably one of the main down falls. It is a pain to clean as are most processors I’m guessing (could be wrong) but this is my first proper processor so I cannot say for sure.
A lot of the accessories can fit in the dishwasher though, thank goodness!
Some bits however, anything plastic I tend to avoid going in the dishwasher as I don’t want to distort it just incase as it’s a huge chunk of money to waste if it ruins it.
Everything fits together well, nothing loose and it was great to have a book of recipes and instructions for a kitchen newbie like myself.

Honestly as someone who’s just getting into cooking and baking (even smoothie making) this has been a brilliant tool.
Price wise, as I haven’t had any processors in the past (more due to prices) I’m not sure if this is a pricey piece of kit compared to others, it certainly looks it with the shear amount of accessories you get, the machine itself and cook book which is all brand new. I think it’s up to the person buying. Whether you go for something brand new or second hand. The brand is well established and should hopefully last years upon years.
I really love it though, it is working smoothly and not overly loud either.
Just perfect, they have almost got everything you’d ever need.
I will say though, the cable isn’t very long so you’ll want to use it next to a plug socket unless you have an extension. Also as someone else said, there doesn’t seem to be any markings on the main cylinder! That would have been very helpful to have.
You will need a good amount of storage space for all of the accessories, there is a huge amount which I’m still trying to find space for. The processor though looks great on show as it matches my cream kitchen.
Great processor though, it’s definitely converted me!

    Fantastic (newbie in the kitchen)

I am so impressed with this food processor it is absolutely amazing! It does everything I need it to do and then some! It comes with lots of blades to do chopping, grating and everything else you could think of. It had different sized containers so if you’re not using it for many people you can opt for the smaller container. The processor is heavy so I will probably keep it out. The buttons are easy to use and there is a safety feature which means if its not locked it won’t work. Very handy when iv got the kids helping me. The processor also comes with its own recipe book, plus you can download the app and there’s more recipes on there that gets more added on every so often which is really handy!

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

I have been using this for about a month now and here are my impressions:

Brand – Firstly what drew me to order this food processor is the brand. If you research “buy it for life kitchen essentials” you’ll almost always see a Magimix featured and there is a reason why. It may be expensive, but the quality of the machine is top tier. The motor is backed with a 30-year warranty which shows their confidence in the product. I checked their website and spare parts, and accessories are available via their website. It’s also good to see the longevity of their products, I watched a few videos online before ordering and some of them are years old. Rather than bringing out a new slightly changed model each year which aren’t compatible, they continue to invest in these long-standing products by creating new accessories.

Learning curve – When I first unboxed, I was impressed and a bit overwhelmed with the number of accessories that comes with this package. Inside the big outer box are 3 separate boxes. The big-box contains the main motor unit, all 3 bowels, a box containing all the “bits” and a citrus press. The other 2 boxes contain the “Extra Press XL kit” and some extra “creative” discs. That’s a lot of accessories. This means there are a whole load of possibilities of things you can do with this. To be honest, it was also a bit daunting for me at first, where do you start?

I started by reading the manual which gives you a good rundown of how to use the machine and a few recipes to get started. The first things were simple cut an onion, grate some cheese and make a quick salad. It still shocks me at how fast it can do these common meal prep things which would usually take me minutes not seconds. The initial thing I got a bit confused with is the bowl/bit placement. They only fit in a certain order so it took me a little while to figure out my most used “configurations”. It’s second nature to me now but it does take some adjusting. It’s also worth noting that when I first got it the tolerances between the bowls were very tight so would need a bit of force, but after washing a few times this has eased up and are a lot easier to slot into each other now.

Over the last few weeks I have used most of the accessories, I have made bread, my own mayonnaise, loads of salads and a few juices. So I am starting to get confident in using it. For people who haven’t used one of these before it will take you a bit of time to fully utilise its features but it’s extremely rewarding when you do, it’s allowed me to really improve and experiment with my cooking.

Extra Press XL Kit – One of my favourite things about this set is the Extra Press XL Kit accessory. I had high expectations and it exceeded them. When I go into town one of the things I love doing is going to one of the juice bars and getting a nice fresh juice. I was hoping that this accessory would replicate them and I literally cannot tell the difference. Which saves me a lot of money! My favourite one is strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apple & pineapple. So good!

One nitpick – My only little nitpick with this is that there aren’t a lot of videos online of people sharing their recipes and showing you ways to best utilise it. I wish there was a bit more social media content or an app with more recipes to follow. I am in the early stages of using this machine but I plan on doing a few videos showing my most used recipes just to help people like me out.

After just over a month of using it, I honestly couldn’t go back. It saves me so much time every week and has allowed me to try a lot more things. Yes, it’s very expensive which is a big hurdle, but it is a quality piece of equipment which I hope will last a long time. If I have any issues in the future I will update this review.

    Expensive but worth i

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis has honestly revolutionised my kitchen. I have a big hatred against too many kitchen gadgets, and this consolidates all of them in to one. I have a family of six and the capacity is perfect, but also if you’re batch cooking, it makes an hour of cooking half an hour or less.

The thing I love most is the ease of cleaning – everything is designed so well so that only the jug gets dirty, and that’s really easy to clean. It chops, blends, mixes – does the lot. It’s quite noisy which is it’s only downfall, and it’s also huge and heavy, so will likely need permanently staying out on the side.

These are expensive, but it is an absolute workhorse. The Magimix warranty is brilliant, but it does just work day in day out, with whatever you throw at it. It a hard one to explain, but I really didn’t know what I was missing in terms of time saving and cooking ease since I got one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m a long time useless cook. And to that point I don’t think I should call myself a cook at all, I’m someone who follows a recipe…in a fashion. Still – it’s fun. I had been happily been playing Gordon Ramsay, using knives and a hob for many years until Amazon introduced me to… electrical kitchen equipment. Surely, the equivalent of power tools to a man? Not quite, I initially felt there’s really no need for them but over time, I’ve been won over.
This time, they’ve offered me a Magimix. From the little I know, I knew these are rather coveted. With good reason, is my initial comment in this review.

I wasn’t in when it arrived and the delivery fella handily left it by the front door. So, in my ignorance, I asked the neighbours if they’d retrieve it. Now, at the time I had no idea how big and heavy the 5200XL is. It’s a suitcase sized beast! The neighbours didn’t appreciate it though. And with that in mind, you should appreciate that the 5200XL requires quite a bit of kitchen real estate just for storage. I’ve included a pic of it with a kettle for scale.

Onto using the beast and again I need to say, you need quite a bit of space. The base is big and then you’ll probably be using a selection of the bowls and attachments so everything gets spread about during a session, I’ve found. Besides that, it’s amazingly simple to use. I’ve been used to using another processor (made by the martial artist company) which has buttons galore so looking at the unadorned Magimix was a concern. But in use, the Pulse, Auto and Stop are all that is needed. The book says that it adjusts the speed as required (sensing the load on the motor) but I don’t really see this happening and think it’s more to do with the amount of time it’s ran. Whether chopping, mixing or annihilating, it just does it, effortlessly. Compared to my previous processor, it’s done quicker and with less strain. The main improvement is the amount of noise though. Where the old one was so loud that you almost dreaded turning it on, the Magimix is so much more comfortable to use.

Given my vast culinary skills, I have stuck to following the booklet that comes with the product. It’s a book that includes instructions and a large amount recipes. Each recipe needs checking for what tools are required and I believe that some may need a tool that isn’t included with all versions of the product so best to check you have everything required first. I’ve stuck with the simple stuff for now and the only disaster has been me annihilating instead of pulsing potatoes, ending up with a gloop instead of mash (oops!). The recipes have all gained approval from my partner. I do think I’ll improve how I use it over time, especially when it comes to space management! It has encouraged me to make new things in the kitchen. I am now a professional bread maker for instance (ahem…). Bread is super easy with this. Ingredients in the bowl, pulse for a few seconds and the dough is ready. I did try this on the old processor and it wasn’t a happy chicken. The extra power that the Magimix has, really comes to the fore here. Super impressive. I’m going to attempt Dauphinoise spuds today!
I haven’t really gotten into the juicing arm of the Magimix’s skills but it certainly looks capable of doing a big shift of juice extraction, if you’ve got a bucket of ingredients. It does say it can make smoothies but looking at what is required, I really think you’re better off with a, less effort, dedicated product (such as the one made by the martial artist company).

At the time of this review, the Magimix is 450. So, is it worth it? I would imagine that in most cases, it absolutely is. If you’re looking for a processor just for yourself, it’s not for you but for families of two and up, it’s well and truly worth it. Yes, it’s pricey but if you use it enough, it’s so worth it.
It does get messy but is easy to clean or you can use it in a dishwasher. That extra power and quietness make it so much better than my previous processor that was 200. More than twice as good. It deals with a lot more with less effort and doesn’t have annoying ‘can’t reach’ spots to clean.
    As long as:
    * You have the kitchen space
    * You have the worktop space
    * You have the enthusiasm
    * You have a family to cook for
…I highly recommend the Magimix 5200XL (and probably the smaller products). You’ll have fun, so happy kitchen adventures!

Epic, if you have the space

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFrom bread to the ultimate and i mean best tasting smoothie I’ve had to date this machine would be sure to impress a queen!

I have included a video and a few photos. The video shows me and my assistant ( my gentleman ) using the Extra Press XL Kit. We juiced up some carrots, apples and cucumber. The result was a smoothie like no other i’ve ever tried ( once mixed together this same smoothie can be seen in a pint glass ) so we got a full pint worth of smoothie goodness to share from the apples, carrots and cucumber we used!!! Impressed!!

I say like no other because not only because it was so delicious ( DO try this at home!!! ) but because it wasn’t smooth, well it actually was…. let me explain… it was like the machine removed all hard, fibrous bits and left soft delicate pieces of pulp in our smoothie. So maybe bitty would be the right word, only with the bits being so soft and fine and a total pleasure to drink. Also the bits that get stuck in the Extra Press XL need not be thrown away…… these can be used to make a delicious cake or for other recipes.

If you want to boost your health, this machine with the Extra Press XL Kit will certainly do that. We have also sliced up vegetables and made like a veg salad sort of dish. We’ve made bread and we plan on making so much more!! This is a dream machine, legendary, it has transformed everything we do in the kitchen.

The only thing i wish it came with that it doesn’t is a robotic cleaner. You know, one that can do the pots for me hahaha! Cleaning the parts is the only not so pleasant thing. But to be honest, it’s lovely after having washed everything and seeing the legendary Magimix sparkling clean and ready for more action again!!!! Also i love that this is such a popular machine that replacement or additional parts are readily available online, something that may be a struggle getting hold of with not so well known brands.

In conclusion …… this machine is the best kitchen machine i’ve owned to date. It is, as the title suggests, a total legend in the kitchen!

    Legendary machine!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhen this arrived I was shocked at how large and heavy the box is – it is huge. Inside you get 3 boxes – the main 5200 food processor box, a box with the extra blades and a box with the juicer attachments.

The main food processor box contains the unit in a plastic cream finish. This has 3 different bowls which stack inside of each other. The smallest has a sharp blade and the largest has a range of blades, all housed in a flip top container. The top twists on and has a large opening with a full width pusher. This means less chopping before using. The actual unit is very heavy and feels exceptionally solid. On the front are 3 buttons – auto, pule and stop. There is no speed adjustment as the unit is designed to set the speed itself.
The juicer attachments is a multi-purpose one with a standard juicer which holds the juiced pulp inside for later disposal. There is also a citrus juicer built in too so you can juice virtually all fruit and veg.
The extra blades are housed in a smaller 4 blade container but come with 3 so you have a range of slicing, grating, julienning, chopping and whisking.

Having used it for a month now, it has totally replaced my old stand mixer for all but larger dough jobs. It has also replaced both my citrus juicer and my standard juicer. This makes this a true multi-purpose food processor. Its built quality is excellent and I have had some really good results, making smoothies, pastry, butter & batters amongst others. It is expensive but considering the other kitchen gadgets it replaces, it is not that bad value, especially with a 30 year warranty on the motor – I expect this will out live me to be honest.
I was unsure about the auto speed option this uses but have found that nothing I have made has come out bad so far, despite the ideal speed being different for different foods.

There is a hardback recipe book supplied in the box. This gives some good examples of what you can make and shows the right blades and attachments to use (the strawberry milkshake is really really good). You can also get these recipies online or using the Magimix app.

If I was being picky, the only problem I have is that the blades have 2 different boxes to store them in. It would have been better to have just had a single unit as it would take less space.

    Replaces so many gadgets

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis arrives in massive box and on opening I realised wasn’t full of packaging the processor and accessories are big and base unit is heavy. You really need large counter space to keep this on and unless your part time bodybuilder it would be best stay out as be so heavy to take out and then put back in cupboard every time you use, you also need a good amount of cupboard space for all accessories.I have a small kitchen that this would take over so I asked my sister to test this for me and she was and is delighted. This does everything and is great for large families as has larger than average bowls. My sister has had this for 3weeks and has filled her freezer from batch cooking and baking and says she still hasn’t used all features or accessories. She says it chops/slices food with ease is great for soups and dough and is much quieter than expected. This really is top quality processor but it has price to match. For large family or even small catering company this be good buy as is top quality and has long guarantee on parts and even longer on motor but needs lot of counter and cupboard space

Works great for large families or small catering business

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOmg! Where do I start?! This has got to be one of the most amazing appliances I’ve ever used!
The first thing you notice when this arrives is the size, the box is huge! its over 16kg! The main unit on its own is just over 7kg. The item is just superior quality! When you take it out of the box it also takes up quite a bit of room on the kitchen worktop, so if you have a big kitchen great! if you have a smaller kitchen you will have to find some room as this appliance is definitely worth it!

I do a lot of cooking from scratch due to my families diet requirements and couldnt live without the magimix now, it’s invaluable and makes life and cooking so much easier, especially this 5200xl premium model.

The unit comes with 2 Grating discs (2mm & 4mm) & 2 Slicing discs (2mm & 4mm), 2 stainless steel Sabatier blades, dough blade & egg whisk, 3 ABS and BPA-free bowls, 3 Disc Creative Kit (Parmesan, 1mm slicing, 6mm grating), BlenderMix ring, Citrus Press with 2 cones, Extra Press XL Kit

This machine is so simple to use, it ony has 3 buttons – off, auto and pulse , there are 3 different bowl sizes to chose ( mini, midi and main ) and an array of blades
There are slicing blades for things like potatoes, one blade is 2mm and one is 4mm thin. Insert your food from the top into the shoot, put the pusher on top of the food whilst its in the shoot and then press the pulse button and then release when its done, it literally takes a few second to perfect slices!
The egg whisk attachment is great and effortlessly does the job in no time, if you are whisking egg whites or cream and want air in the mix then you have to remember to remove the pusher at the top before you start, its equally a good attachment to use for making and mixing sauces.
There are 2 discs for grating, course and fine, again feed your cheese in from the top and the whole block will be grated in seconds.
Even as I am writing this, I’m excited as to how fab this processor is, it’s efficient, fast, works effortlessly and looks amazing, i could literally spend hours just grating, blending , mixing and chopping just for the sheer enjoyment of watching this appliance work!
Both the slicing and grating blades can be used with the large and medium bowls.
Dough blades can be used to knead pasta and pastries in no time at all without the need to exert yourself! this is ideal for pies, pizzas and home made pasta etc
The blender mix is fantastic for things like soups, smoothies, it is fantastic at combining the liquids and solids together.
The citrus press is unbelieveable for making fresh orange juice, it makes the job so simple, quick and easy.
This product uses an ultra quiet induction motor, which is guaranteed for 30 years (I was singing the magimix’ praises to my neighbour and she told me she has a 30 year old magimix that she still regularly uses) the auto button automatically adjusts the power to suit the food item in the bowl. The mini bowl is best used for chopping – mixing – combining small quantities such as sauces and dips, midi bowl is best for slicing and grating such as fruit, vegetables, cheese…. the feeding tube allows for slicing length or width ways and the large bowl is for chopping, mixing and combining large quantities of food.

All the parts of this processor are made with superior quality materials and are made to last from the shatter proof bowls, the extremely sharp blades to the 30 year guaranteed motor! no expense has been spared in making this fantastic processor and I wouldn’t want to be without it now. With the amount of cooking i do, this has saved me so much time and effort and in fact, i have widened my cooking skills and recipies so much since i began using the magimix!

This item is aprox 21cm wide, 25cm deep and 44cm high

I would recommend this item to anyone who can afford it and has room for it! ( even those who dont have the room!)
