Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a really powerful mixer and perfect for anyone that loves baking. It comes in a good variety of colours and with various attachments. Looks so good on display when not in use.

It might be called a compact system, but this has a large footprint and a great height, so be sure to measure twice before ordering, and you’ll need cupboard space for all the attachments

Talking which it has an attachments for every possible use, more than I have been able to use in the month I had had it, but I’ll get there in the end. It chops, whisks, blends, kneads and for the first time in my life I whisked egg whites and it was incredible easy, primarily because this machine did it for me.

It does seem like it could do anything and it is held back by my competence and creativity, rather than any limitations in itself.

Loads of power, without to much noise, and the ability to do almost everything. Terrific.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEasy to use with only 3 buttons (stop, auto and pulse) to control all of its functions. The 1100W motor is powerful enough to tackle almost anything you throw at it, which automatically adjusts for optimum results and best of all, its ultra silent!

I tend to batch cook and freeze a lot of meals for convenience throughout the week and this has saved me a lot of time with prepping my ingredients. It’s quite impressive the amount of things it can do from grating, chopping, slicing, blending *takes breath*, whisking, blending and kneading you name it, it does it.. really minimises the work I need to do in the kitchen and makes cooking a breeze!

Cleaning it can be quite time consuming if you’re only using it for smaller jobs that using a simple knife can do, however all accessories are easy to clean, and best of all I love that after using I can throw everything into the dishwasher and make my life even easier as they are all dishwasher safe!

Included is a large range of accessories and tools like the feed tube, 3.6L 2.6L and 1.2 litre bowls, discs, dough blade, egg whisk, blender mix, juice press and even a recipe book to help get you started!

Magimix also offer a generous 30 year warranty on the motor for peace of mind, making this a perfect investment!

    Highly recommend!

At time of review this product is 449.00
I was offered this on the vine program in return for my honest review.

First when this arrived I struggled to get this in through the front doorthe very nice Amazon driver helped to bring this for meso a big thank you to him.

This ~magimix compact system is s serious piece of equipment..this is quite big and heavy.
At around 15LBS this would be far to heavy to keep this in a cupboard and keep lifting in and outso for me this would have to be left ontop of the worktop.

This magimix consists of so many gadgets perfect for making jobs faster and easier.as there is so much it can do..whisking.chopping.juicing..kneading.mixingslicing.blending and so much morethe motor is very powerful..going to take me a long time getting to grips with this machine..it really is a beast of a machine.if you are cooking for a large family or have family coming over then this machine is perfect for all the veg..

This comes with a 30 yr motor guarantee and a 3yr parts guarantee

What a machine! This is incredibly versatile and I’ve honestly never seen so many attachments! The manual is part of the recipe book that is an actual hardback book!
I never really use manuals but I actually needed it for this one. From chopping, to juicing, whisking, grating this does a bit of everything.
It has a system that keeps 3 bowls in one. Now this is good on one hand (mainly for storage) but not amazing for cleaning. On the first use I tried making a dressing in the top, smaller bowl. I may have put a little too much in but it didn’t seem excessive and it dripped all the way down into the larger bowl. So to make one thing I had to clean 3 bowls. You can’t use the smaller bowls without each larger one being in place if that makes sense. The only one that can be used on its own is the largest.
The middle bowl is also only able to be used for grating and slicing. Not a problem, just unexpected.
The large bowl is where all the magic happens. I tried making flatbread dough and I have to say it’s the best I’ve ever made using the Magimix. I was astounded when I used the whisk attachment on double cream and 600ml was done within 5 seconds…! The only downside was that the cream was dense rather than whipped…so it doesn’t aerate it as well as actual balloon whisks.
This model has a pulse, auto and stop button. The stop button really does stop it immediately and obviously the pulse gives you a little more control over the machine. The auto is the only way of making the machine go constantly and unfortunately only appears to go incredibly fast which isn’t great in certain recipes; but I’m sure after more practice you will just know to use the pulse button instead.
The large feeder tube is incredibly useful, especially while juicing or slicing/grating large vegetables.
The machine is massive and the accessories take up a whole cupboard shelf but it saves having several machines to cover each aspect.
I hope this has helped with your purchase

    Lovely versatile machine

An absolutely incredible bit of kitchen kit. Make sure you’ve got some space for it!! The unit itself isn’t absurdly big, and the three bowls stack on top of each other in a neat, space-saving way. This adds some height though so you’ll need to sit this on some worktop that has no low cupboards above it.

There’s an almost bewildering array of attachments and gizmos and there’s every chance that some will remain completely unused in their smart containers but for an all encompassing device you couldn’t ask for more.

Longevity is the key here, in terms of value. This is an investment, with a lengthy guarantee period, quality materials, excellent engineering and Sabatier blades etc etc.

So far I’ve used it to chop herbs, nuts, blend pesto, soups, chop vegetables, mix dough and pastry. All working perfectly, easily and without incident.

I look forward to exploring further and seeing what this baby can do.

This is a really impressive piece of kit. It comes with so many attachments that it can do almost everything I need in the kitchen, it is almost like having one more person to help me.
I have been using this for the last couple of weeks and I just love it, I can’t wait for my days off so I can try new recipes.
This is massive compared to my old food processor and probably bigger than most of those on the market but just perfect for us as we are a big family. It came packed in a huge cardboard box but even though the product itself is quite big, I was waiting for my husband to get home to help me install my new kitchen aid.
It is not so heavy that a woman can not lift it but I didn’t want to mess up with it.
Anyway, after I placed it where my old food processor used to be and started using it, it was like I had it since forever, it is really easy to use and at the same time I still learn new things about it.
The motor seems to be very powerful but very silent, not like some of them that sound like power tools cutting through something.
All the accessories are easy to remove and most of the time it is more than enough to rinse them with water therefore despite that it is big it is really easy to keep it clean.
It stays still on the table top every time I am using it, no moving around or weird shaking whatsoever.
    Nothing to complain really.
Really good quality as you would expect from a professional brand.

    Top quality food processo

I was in awe at the price of this food processor initially BUT as they were all being revealed as they came out of the box, I was amazed at the amount of pieces there actually is but most of all, the quality! You can feel the quality of the materials usedthe blades and discs are super sharp (I found this out very quickly by accident).

There is a lot of weight to the actual machine part alonethere is 30 year warranty on the motor which means they are confident it will last and 3 years on partsthat is peace of mind and in my opinion makes the price of this more realistic as it is made to lastI like many other things these days sadly!

As yet I haven’t been able to use it except to switch it on and you can feel the power. There are so many parts to explore and they cover anything you could possibly need.

There is are two recipe booksone for soups and the other for mealsso can’t wait to try them out.

The main thing I would say is to be sure that you check the height of your kitchen units, if like me, you have a smaller kitchen and the upper units are all the way aroundno open area. To fit the main part of the machine onto my kitchen top I have had to tilt it sideways so it goes underneath the cabinet skirtone under there it is fineI just have to remember to tilt the machine each time I want to use it. The actual width/size of the machine does not take up much space,,,it’s just the height.

It is truly an awesome looking machine and when considering the initial payoutnear in mine the 30 year motor warranty and 3 year parts and this makes it well worth while.

A fabulous machine and comes in a choice of colourI have the cream and it is lovely. Definitely recommended.

A lot for your money - Great Quality System with super long warranty.

This is a bit of a beast in size and weight. If you are not all that strong in the arms, hands or wrists see if you can lift this before you think of buying it or have a place where it can just sit and stay, my bathroom scales say the main unit on its own is 7kg (around 15lb). If you are not going to use the juicer or disc cutters maybe go for a smaller or different model as it would just be lots of stuff you don’t use that you would need to store and this model comes with a lot of extra stuff!

It does its job very well. My current food processor, a Braun, has been in the family for over 20 years and was a total lightweight compared to what this can do. It comes with all the slicing and mixing attachments you will ever need and a long warranty to give you some piece of mind for such an expensive purchase.
The idea of the three different sized bowls that nest together like Russian dolls was new to me and seems a bit of a waste of time and plastic. I guess I’m just used to chopping and mixing everything in the same sized bowl which seems more straight forward and less complicated.
The motor is very powerful and I could easily mix up some bread dough in around 30 seconds, even though the top of the machine was rattling around the base and stayed firmly on the table top.
The cutting discs are very sharp and make short work of carrots and other veg. I didn’t use the ones for cheese.
It comes with a hardback recipe book which doubles as the instruction manual.
The cutting discs are all stored in some clear topped plastic containers that also store the large cutting blade, dough and wish attachments.

The overall build quality is good but it is let down by some of the plastic parts. The spatula that comes with it is made of some of the cheapest plastic I have ever seen. The dough mixer had a lot of flash on it from the moulding process ( I’ve added a picture), I was not sure if this would come off in use so took some time with a sharp knife to remove it, not something I would expect to do on a machine of this price range.
Personally I would have liked to have more user speed variation settings on the unit; it just comes with an auto speed and a pulse mode.

So overall if you do a lot of cooking and don’t bulk at the price I think the machine is a good buy, it is built well and I see no reason why it would not last a long time if looked after. The weight of the machine and overall size together with having to store all the accessories will be an issue to some with limited strength and space and you will need to take that into account along with the not inconsiderable price.
I’m knocking a star off because of a dough mixer which probably annoys me more than it should.

Big, well built but some of the tools are cheap and poorly finished

Wow it’s very sleek, modern, comes with various accessories, efficient and speedy
It’s grinds, chops, blends, (even slices tomato so perfectly) extremely easy to clean, very sturdy & quiet. Powerful & easy to use, doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. It is a great size for slicing, dicing and making the mixtures of choice, be they sweet or savoury. The tools and blades have got their own storing boxes, the whisk is amazing, it’s take a few months to do eggs whites. The three sizes of bowl it’s more versatile. The blender so smoothly for my soups. The quality of stainless iron blades & motor is at a level not found in other brands I have used but I’ve never had a mixer, blender, whisk, dough maker in 1 before & can say whole heartily definitely worth every penny & hugely recommended!!

Wow, absolute outstanding, 100/100 & more

  11. Lindsey says:

Appearance – it is very smart and looks timeless. It is large and very heavy so you do need to have a counter that is large enough for it to be able to stay out. You also receive a lot of accessories that take up a lot of cupboard space. I think a small kitchen could look overwhelmed with this monster sitting in it!

Functions – I haven’t even tried all the functions as there are so many! I have made some sauces and used it for chopping and it worked like a dream.

Quality – you really can feel the quality when you use this. You don’t end up with a hot machine and the blades making worrying noises like you do with cheap machines. It feels like a workhorse and will be ideal for large families and people who love to batch cook.

Cleaning – it is reasonably easy to clean. Obviously if you use lots of accessories it will take a while but they only needed a dunk in hot soapy water etc.

What a machine, it does all you can imagine plus more gets put to use everyday and makes tedious tasks in the kitchen so effortless have I was amazed at the ease it made mice meat and how little time it took compared to my mincer soups and sauces are a thing of beauty with this food processor comes with all the blades and accessories you’d need for Amy job have even made my own butter with this which tasted amazing so much versatility from a single machine easy to use with only three buttons marked Auto, Stop and Pulse no fiddly settings and programs to select for different foods comes with a hardcover recepie book which doubles up as a manual too not the easiest to clean as there’s so many different bolws and blades but we’ll worth it for the functionality and time saved using this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMagimix Compact System 5200XL (Cream)

The Magimix Compact System is a very impressive piece of kitchen equipment…such a powerful tool and one that I will now use every day.

I have always bought cheap plastic food processors in the past which evidently break after a couple of years but the Magimix Compact System comes with a 30-year motor guarantee and a 3-year parts guarantee, so I was keen to see how it works.

And to say I was suitably impressed is an understatement…this is such a strong, powerful and sturdy machine and has so many functions and gadgets that come with it, making every job faster, easier and much more efficient. This system does everything from chopping, slicing, mixing, whisking, kneading, blending, juicing…the list is endless.

It comes with three different sized bowls; the mini bowl which is great for small quantities and for chopping herbs etc., the midi bowl for slicing and grating and the main bowl for large quantities, mixing and blending.

All the accessories like the slicing and grating discs, the whisk, and the dough and main blades come in two neat boxes which are brilliant for storage, safety and will prevent the blade edges from becoming blunt. The system also comes with a juicer attachment and a juice extractor/smoothie maker.

Currently I have tried the system out for chopping vegetables, making soup, grating cheese and everything was chopped, blended and grated to perfection. The system also comes with a recipe book (manual and instructions included in this book) and I tried the shortbread recipe. All ingredients were blended within 10 seconds!

As the functions are so vast, I think it will take time to learn the full capabilities of this amazing machine but, I am certainly looking forward to experimenting and getting the most out of it.

All the tools and bowls are easy to clean, I hand washed mine, but the instruction manual does say that short low temperature dishwasher programs can be used.

The Magimix is quite heavy so it is probably best to keep it accessible and find a permanent spot on your worktop where it can stay out all the time. For anyone wondering whether it will fit on your worktop, the Magimix compact system base measures 20cm width and 24cm depth. It is quite tall at 45cm, and I would watch the height as it doesn’t fit under our kitchen wall units but I found the perfect spot and it is a very nice addition to my kitchen.

I would definitely recommend this product; it may seem expensive, but the quality and ease of use makes this a worthy investment with endless daily uses and a must for anyone who loves cooking.

An absolutely amazing piece of kitchen equipme

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have got to admit, that this was an impulse buy. When it arrived, the box was MASSIVE. While unpacking it, I thought to myself . . why did you buy this.
Well I have to admit ‘Madge’ is wonderful, and I’m so glad I bought her.
I’ve always made pastry by hand, but never again. Pastry made using the Magimix is the best ever. I’ve used it to finely chop the glut of tomatoes from my greenhouse, to make the most delightful tomato sauce. I’ve made mayonnaise for the first time too.
The only downside is, I seem to end up with a mountain of washing up, what with the various parts.
A small price to pay for a wonderful machine though.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThere’s lots of components to this machine and they take up some serious cupboard space. It also is a large machine for the worktop. That said it is fairly quiet, does just about anything, and feels like it will outlast me! It’s not difficult to clean at all, most bits just need a quick rinse under the hot water tap. A recipe book is part of the kit and there’s a recipe app too, so you can make the most of the investment.

Very pleased with this food processor. It feels sturdy & well made. Doesn’t ‘walk’ all over the counter when in use!
I know some people don’t like the stacked bowls, but I think this is ok. I did sometimes get spillage from the small bowl into the larger ones, but that was because I overfilled it, so now I’m careful not to & that seems to have cured that little problem.
The blade & disc storage box is excellent & is smart looking too.
I find the slicing & grating very easy & quick, much better than with other food processors I’ve owned in the past.
It’s powerful enough to make good nut butter in a few minutes, but in the main bowl with the large blade. I had too much to use the small top bowl, so can’t comment on how that would perform.
Overall this is a very good machine which I look forward to using for many years.
The only downside is the Magimix website. I couldn’t register my product due to an ongoing error. They did respond to my email however, but the error was still there days later so I gave up trying. Proof of purchase acts as the guarantee, apparently.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI ordered this for my husband for Christmas, it is quite pricey, and he couldn’t justify paying so much for a food processor, I knew he had been looking at it for a while, anyway..fabulous piece of kit, all singing/dancing! The only down side was I paid for gift wrap, we both work from home so it was a no brainer, but to my horror my husband excepted the delivery, unwrapped, with magi mix all over the box!! Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWhat can I say? This is the best quality food processor you can buy. Previously had the smaller one but after 20 years I treated myself to an upgrade.
The ONLY downside to this machine is the weight, it is heavy. I would suggest finding a spot where it can stay all the time. If it’s in the cupboard it’s a hassle to lift in and out. The motor has a 30 year warranty so it will probably last longer than me!

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersToyed with the idea of getting a Kitchen Aid before realising I needed something that did more. I don’t bake as much which is why I chose the Magimix over the Kitchen Aid, but ironically have baked a lot with it! We’ve not had it long, but it’s a heavy duty mixer that does everything – juicing (not like a proper juicer though!), mixer, slicer, shredder – I no longer need all my other appliances as can consolidate with just this one appliance.

I’ve re-discovered a love for cooking because there’s less prep time (sorry to Kenwood, the mini chopper has worked wonderfully for us over the years, but it’s time to go now that we need to do more batch cooking!). We’re a family of four with two young kids, so the 5200 is more than enough for us – managed to simultaneously batch make 4 dishes, a cake and a soup over a couple of hours with this on the first day (which otherwise would’ve taken me twice as long with our tiny mini chopper!). A total God-send.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI had heard good things about the Magimix 5200XL Food Processor, so when my old food process broke, I didn’t hesitate to purchase this one. I would thoroughly recommend. I like that fact that you have a choice of bowl sizes and can use the large bowl if you are making a large batch of brownies, energies balls etc. and the smaller bowl if just whipping up a small jar of pesto etc. Powerful and easy to use, definitely worth the investment especially considering it comes with a 30 year guarantee.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersWe have had this for about 9 months, its almost industrial. I have a smaller alternative make that is no so heavy that I use more often, but if its large quantities of hard stuff this is the one to use,. To gind peanuts for peanut butter i had to use loads of small amount in my domestic processor. This mixer is a dream, 500g of peanuts in a once, on for 20 – 30 seconds – instant peanut butter. It weighs a ton but it will taken on any requirements you have.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersHave had my last maximize food processor for over 30 years and it has been well ‘rocked’! Motor was still going strong but the cost of replacement parts against the fact that I did not know how long the motor would keep running made me decide to replace it. So far it is living up to all expectations and appears to be worth the investment. Only thing I find a little annoying is the massive amount of parts in the feeder tube. Which creates a lot of washing and drying up especially if you are only using the small bowl. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase and hope that it will serve me as well and as long my old machine did!

It is a really solid machine that works like a dream, with lots of useful accessories, in a neat box. It has tackled every task that I wanted in record time. The motor is very quiet too. It is an expensive machine but in my opinion it is well worth the money.

The only reason this hasn’t got 5 stars is that the product description states the box contains a citrus press and a juicer kit. No juicer kit included. This was on of the reasons I bought this model. Not returning as need the processor for recipes.

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersThis is a stupendous machine. I am gradually learning all the stuff it can do.And it is a truly handsome presence in the kitchen, in its own spot. Nice and heavy, so no worries about it jumping around. Very impressive motor, remarkably not too loud.
It came with a citrus juicer, which is awesome, and a sort of ring thing to put in the top of the biggest of the three bowls for making smoothies if you want.
There are two grating discs and two slicers, plus an egg white whisk, a Dough blade and the main S’ metal blade for the main work bowls. The small work bowl has its own wee metal blade too.It even comes with a special spatula, shaped to get every last bit out of the bowls. The well designed plastic box holds all the bits safely.

No more shop bought hummus, coleslaw or peanut butter for us! Sllicing, chopping and grating veg is an absolute breeze: especially with the extra wide feed tube, so you don’t have to cut stuff up so much, if at all.
In fact, all sorts of cooking has suddenly been made just so very much easier and, for me, lacking in knife skills, also much safer..no more cut fingers, although you do have to respect the ultra sharp blades.

I have sent for a kit for cutting chips and cubed veggies, for that annual tsunami of tomatoes that need to be made into chutney: that job will no longer be a tedious messy slog!

The wee hardback instruction and recipe book that comes with it is excellent, and gives a small number of recipes that are designed to show off what the machine can do.Today is carrot cake day…or maybe mascarpone cheesecake? Hmm…the scones are great, too..

And all of the bits all can go in the dishwasher! What more can one ask?

This machine has made life in the kitchen just a whole lot better. Highly recommended.

    Post Script.
Well, we have had this machine for nearly a year now and it is still awesome.
I really would recommend reading the instructions totally…I completely missed the bit where it warns that if you are using citrus, you should rinse the juice off right away…turns out that it clouds the bowl. But that just affects the appearance, not the structure or performance at all.

And be warned: this machine makes dough and pastry making an absolute doddle…so we are eating a lot more pies, pasties, crumbles, scones and quiches these days. Brilliant,.but not for the waistline!

I have never managed to figure out how to use that cubing/ chipping attachment I sent for, so can’t recommend that yet, but actually don’t really need it.
Veggie burgers are a breeze with just the main blade and it’ s a real eye – opener to see the vast quantity you get out of just a handful of veg.
Goodbye to expensive shop bought stuff with dubious ingredients, we can make our own real food now…..thanks to this magic machine!

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersGot this a week ago and between me and the Mrs, we’ve used every tool and feature. Nearly bought another kenwood for 100 after the last one died. Glad I didn’t. I won’t slate the kenwood, you get what you pay for and for 100, it’s not bad value, but if you want a proper piece of kit, this is it.

Every piece of it makes the kenwood feel like a toy, the slicing and grating discs are made of very thick steel, the chopping blades are as sharp as kitchen knives, the plastic bowls and lid are very tough and won’t break if you drop them and the motor is so powerful, nothing phases it.

We’ve made cookies, curry sauces, soups kofte kebabs and tonight I made swede and potato rosti to go with my haggis for Burns’ night.

As far as I’m concerned the 3 toughest materials known to man are diamond, granite and swede. Nearly sliced my thumb off once trying to chop a swede to go in a stew. Anyhow, I digress. I peeled the swede, cut in to 2 halves and dropped each one down the vast feed tube to be grated. The machine blasted thru them like they were already cooked – nice long strands, ideal for making rosti. And before you ask, they were delicious.

If I was picky, I’d say the marketing of the machine is a little unclear / misleading in that you can only process / chop food in the mini and maxi bowls, but not the midi bowl. The midi bowl is for the slicing and grating discs only, so you cant grate huge volumes of veg in one go. Small detail but thought I’d mention it.

Main thing is, it’s strong and you can put it in the dishwasher.

It’s expensive, but if you like cooking and will use it, its money well spent.

Morgens machen wir damit Bircher Msli (also pfel klein hacken) – auch das funktioniert in 5 Sekunden …

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersDelighted with this replacement for my 35 year old original that has finally stopped working. Only minor issue is that it is slightly taller than the gap between the bottom of the wall cupboard and the surface so it has to be near the front of the work surface. It looks good and woks well and if it lasts as well as the previous one that was used every week several times the n it will be an heirloom! Can’t say that about many kitchen appliances …..

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersVery high quality product. There’s not a part of it that doesn’t seem made to a very high standard. It’s simple to use but extremely capable. Everything is well thought out down to the locking mechanisms for the three nesting bowls to the generously thick plastic. If I were to summarise it, I’d say no corners had been cut. Cuts everything else, though. 😉

A lot quieter than some food processors as well. Most that I’ve used are cheaper and you can hear the little motor whining away as it frenziedly goes at it. This thing feels like it would just calmly get on with it if I fed a dead body down the mouth piece. (Note: do not use Magimix 5200XL to dispose of dead bodies! I’m just trying to say that it feels very powerful and steady and never complains).

Anyway, I cannot fault it. I would rather buy this product once than a dozen cheaper food processors year after year. I wouldn’t be surprised if I could pass this on to my children one day.

(Oh, and if you’re trying to decide between this and the KitchenAid one, get this one. The only thing the KitchenAid one has over this is the niceness of glass bowls, but in every other way it’s frankly just not as good).

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this after my trusty Cuisinart Prep Plus 11 was sadly damaged when my children unplugged it from the transformer and straight into the mains.

I love this machine. It hasn’t faltered at anything I have thrown at it – oversize sweet potatoes, dense fondente chocolate, dough, pumpkin soup, 20 oranges and pomogranites in the juice attachment…Love it. It does take some planning when using all three bowl sizes – you need the bigger bowls to support the smallest bowl, so you need to chop/shred from smallest amount to largest. Other than that, it’s amazing.

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersI bought this processor 6 weeks ago and now becoming more familiar with it. I had a Braun processor for 30+ years but the plastic spindle broke, so I couldn’t grate anything and I used to make a lots of coleslaw, grating apples for desserts etc. I use my Kenwood professional for making pastry/cakes etc. but after a year or so of not having a processor whilst I deliberated on what brand and model to buy, a friend persuaded me to buy a Magimix ( she’s had hers for over 20 years). I decided to buy this model. It has everything I need ( I love the three bowls). It’s a nice solid machine with good stainless steel blades ( I shall purchase the extra julienne blades, then I shall have everything).
I’ve grated carrots, cheese and apples and sliced courgettes and potatoes. I’ve pureed mango and apples and it’s performed magnificently. Now I’ve moved it to more accessible place in the kitchen – I might give pastry a go. My friend uses hers for absolutely everything. I just found I couldn’t lock the unit on the base and lid on properly at first – but that was my fault, I should have read the instructions before, rather than after trying to lock it.
It is expensive, but not for the use and years I hope to be using it for. It is not at all flimsy like some others, so it will last years.
    UPDATE 2nd March 2019
Still using my Magimix all week, still looks new and I’ve had no problems at all. Last year I bought the spiraliser attachments. Pricey (at 99) but I like spiralising vegetables such as courgettes or carrots etc. The spiraliser attachments are sturdy with stainless steel blades. Unlike the electric 80 watts spiralizer I had (which was weedy and there was a lot of vegetable wasted), the Magimix attachment is as powerful as the model you have, so you can imagine how quickly everything is spiralized with the Magimix 5200XL – 1100 watt. Impressive.
