Works well – versatile. Was put into service in November when making Christmas pudding and steaming veg ever since!
The components are much stronger than the flimsy plastic ones on our old one.
Much more attractive to look at than the old plastic steamer that it replaced!

I’ve had 3 cheap, plastic-basket, steamers. They are horribly fragile. This is great. The range of heat settings is useful. It’s well worth the money. This is the second one I have bought – for a second home. The first one is around 5 years old, gets used almost every day, and is as good as new.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI did a lot of research and decided on the magimix steamer, its all stainless steel of excellent quality. I am looking to lose weight so this has been a great support in my journey. You can do so much with this steamer, it has two baskets so it can work for an individual or large family. Honestly look no further this is the best steamer in terms of quality and convenience. I time my steamer and go about doing my chores, its just perfect.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis will be the third Magimix Steamer we have purchased. The first lasted a few years before packing up. The second I melted by leaving the gas hob on under it. I checked out the other purchase options which were more attractive price-wise but no where near the quality or build quality.
I went for the Magimix because: cleaning much easier with no corners to trap gunge; simple to use (even defaults to 20 minute timer); setting to keep vegetables warm if waiting for other cooking; capacity and confidence the product does what it is supposed to.
O.k. I really jibbed at the price as my first one was under 70 but was a long time ago. You get what you pay for (almost).

Excellent product. Only comment I’d have is that when you remove the perforated plate from the upper section, that edge feels fairly sharp when you clean it. Just need to be careful, otherwise great.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI eat a lot of steamed veg, most days in fact and always use an electric steamer as it’s easier, quicker and creates less heat than having the hob on with a load of pans going. Always used the “cheap” plastic tub steamers before I decided to splurge on this and I gave tho say the difference is amazing.

Other steamers with no temp function normally gave me over cooked veg with no bite and less flavour and I assume, less nutrients also but with this one you can control the temp and you get perfectly cooked veg, nothing is soggy even when cooking softer veg such as cauliflower together with veg that takes longer, like carrots or spuds.

The stainless steel looks better, doesn’t get discoloured like the plastic baskets used to and it’s much easier to clean.

    Well impressed.

I was hesitant to buy a steamer at such a high price, but I like to avoid plastics if I possibly can, and the majority of steamers are plastic. So I took the plunge. This steamer could not be any easier to use, set the temperature you need (it comes with a guide book) and then set the timer. All done! So far I have made really gorgeous yogurts in it and steamed veg for various meals…they definitely taste much better than boiling them, you get a tender but not soft texture (can’t bear soft mushy overcooked veg!) and retain lots more vitamins and minerals. So easy to wash as well. Love it…just waiting to see how it stands up to regular use now. One warning – the book it comes with has some ridiculous timings for your veg – for example it suggests steaming asparagus at 100 degrees for 30-45 minutes!!! Ignore this…just cook for as long as you would normally boil a vegetable for, and add a few extra minutes. If you cook asparagus for 30 minutes it will be horrible!! I steam it for 5-6 minutes max for thick stalks, and it is perfect.

I bought this in December 2019 to replace the last of a number of plastic steamers I have had over the years. I loved the look of the steamer, elegant brushed steel and black. I use it almost every day, even for homemade yogurt! Dishwasher safe, unlike the steamers I have previously had, which were mostly plastic and were not strong enough to cope with daily use. Although quite expensive, well worth the money in my opinion, I am sure I will be using it for years to come. All I all, extremely happy with this product.

Bought a few steamers before, but this has to be the best one. It’s so easy to use and due to it being made in metal, it is much more durable than the plastics ones that I’ve had before.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersUsed this for several weeks now for Sunday dinner for 10 people. It easily copes with veg for 10 and I’m sure can cope with up to 14 or so. The main thing and the reason I bought it was my old plastic cheaper one was very inconsistent. This one just needs 20 minutes for carrots and broccoli and is consistent every time. The only thing that it doesn’t do which would be nice is to to switch automatically from cooking to warming mode after the timer goes off. Instead you have to watch for it to finish and then switch it over manually. It would be nice to have everything but I am just happy to have perfectly cooked veg every time.

I had this steamer recommended to me, by my sister & it was a very good purchase. Vegetables come out crunchy & full of flavour in only four minutes. As there are only two of us living here – I am a carer for my Mum – we only have to use one compartment & there is ample room for what we need. Should we need more room or have visitors, we simply add the other one. I would have no hesitation in recommending this product to anyone. It has been an excellent addition to the kitchen.

We have been using steamers for many years now. Up to now always bought the plastic products which while working well never last long. The baskets fall apart through the plastic getting brittle from use. A steamer normally lasting about 18 months. Buying replace baskets provided expensive.
Having seen this steamer we debated about buying it mainly due to the cost. Wished we’d bought it earlier.
It arrived promptly in an enormous box, padded with paper (well done Amazon) The cats took over the box while we played with our new steamer.
It is study and appears well made. It comes up to steam very quickly and releases very little steam into the kitchen. Also seems a lot faster than our previous steamers, possibly due to the steam not being lost.
Very easy to clean, just wiped the base over with a tea towel.
    Very pleased would recommend.
Also well done to Amazon for doing away with the plastic padding.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrilliant product. I have used plastic steamers for years and wanted to move to a metal steamer.

After months of research I took the plunge and treated myself to this steamer. It was worth every extra penny. Fantastic, quick, tasty and it steams everything and I mean everything. I have steamed fish, chicken, veggies, eggs and even made porridge.

Absolutely worth the investment. Fantastic steamer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPurchased to replace an electric old steamer with plastic baskets that had split over many years of use. I could only find very cheap steamers with plastic baskets and plastic bases which I didn’t want. Our old one from M&S had stainless steel bases which were great but they don’t make it any more. Found this Magimix one last year and held off buying it because over 125 for an electric steamer is expensive. In the end I went for it and really pleased that I did. The steamer is excellent quality as you would expect from Magimix and has a 3 year warranty. It steams very quickly and the steam seems to be well contained. 4 different settings and huge capacity. The base of the top basket comes out which means there is plenty of space in there for large pudding basins. It is quite heavy compared to other steamers and had to rearrange the cupboards as it didn’t fit in the space from its predecessor! Highly recommended if you can swallow the cost.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a very nice looking piece of equipment and steams very well though I have only used the 100 deg programme. You can also put the baskets in the dishwasher without worrying about them getting damaged -unlike plastic versions. This is is the second one of these I have purchased and it appears to have the same niggling fault as the last one that it sometimes resets the timer to zero right at the beginning of cooking.. Would be better if it had dividers for the baskets. Is it value for money. I don’t think so but the alternatives are limited

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs you would expect, at this price, this is a well built quality product much improved from the version we purchased many years ago. It’s early days but cooks well with the recommended timings but you may want to personalise if you prefer vegetables cooked more or less. The stainless steel and glass makes the product so much easier to clean compared with the older version. Surprisingly little steam ejected during the cooking cycle. Not a 5-star because some marks appeared on the water container base after cooking, possibly from the heating element. The marks cleaned-off with vinegar.

Can’t fault this steamer. Well worth the cost. Easy to use. Will never buy another plastic steamer! Possible to steam cook a whole chicken.

It is my first steamer and I just have it for a month.
It has no plastic inside it as it has been already mentioned: only stainless steel and glass! That was the main reason that I bought it and it fulfills it.
It is easy to use and if you keep up with the instructions you can have your meal ready with no worries.
It is big and you can indeed steam a whole chicken!!

I hope that it will prove itself robust and durable but I can tell that after 1 year of use, not now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis steamer has been in almost constant use for 2 years now. We live in an area with very hard water, so the heating element in most steamers gets caked in limescale. Most steamers are a pain to de-scale, but this one is easy… Just a teaspoon of vinegar occasionally and voila!

The steamer is large and does not pack into a small space. This is fine by me. I use it almost every day so it has a permanent spot on my kitchen counter. The stainless steel baskets are hard wearing and have outlasted any of the plastic baskets I have had in the past.

So if you are fed up with cloudy and broken plastic steamer baskets and descaling your elements then this is the steamer for you! 😀

    Update 3 1/2 years later…
Still working beautifully and used 4 days out of 7. None of the parts have broken and the timer is still working correctly! Still happy. 😀

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersQuality built, All stainless steel (no plastic part explore to the food), solid and robust.
I particularly like the various temperature steaming. 80 degree temperature steaming is a perfect temperature to steam a fish, without making the fish dry. The oval shape is perfect to steam longer fish. This steamer is perfect to steam rice too, you will never overcook the rice again.
With 2kW heater underneath, it heats up very fast, most my food can be ready in 20min.

I’m very happy with the steamer but from the booklet II wasn’t clear as to whether brown rice and white rice should be cooked the same way or not.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI note that there are at least 2 versions of this item. Luckily I bought the newer model first, which I still have (Without black handles) which has served me well for over 3 years and still going strong! It is so good in fact that upon seeing one on eBay for 95 I thought that I would ‘buy a spare’. This was the black handled version, and after filling it up and switching it on it became apparent that it was faulty (Timer kept going berserk). So, my advice is to avoid the black handled basket models and buy this, and hopefully, like me, you will have years of reliable service and great tasting, healthy food. Parsnips…you won’t believe how good they taste freshly steamed out of it! And kale!! 5 stars for sure

    Works well, easy to operate.
Boiler plate is made out of steel.
You may prepare jogurt in this machine using 40 degree (Celsius) thermostat setting.
But you need to be careful washing bottom part, for it’s not seal all around and water could damage electronic parts if leaked in thorough ventilation holes.
Overall, just best steam cooker I could find.

We use this every day for steaming vegetables and sometimes with fish and it always produces excellent results. It is so easy to use and the quality is superb. It is so good we have bought another to use in our caravan – which might seem a bit OTT but it saves so much time and there is much less washing up for me!!

It may cost more than the average steamer but top quality. I am sure it will last the test of time. Baskets are a good size for a family or one basket is quite adequate for two persons.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHave been through so many Morphy Richards steamers I’ve lost count, as others have reported plastic baskets have cracked and replacements cost ridiculous amounts.

This is a quality device, only thing negative I have noticed so far is the sound notification on timer complete could be louder.

    Update [09/12/2020]
The tempered glass steamer lid exploded in the sink yesterday for no apparent reason, luckily it was at an angle and the glass flying into the air missed my wife’s face, and covered the sink and counter top instead. I’ve heard of this happening before, lots of stories on the internet. My recommendation is to replace the lid once it is out of warranty which is 3 years I believe. You can buy direct from Magimix for 29 as I have done. The steamer I originally bought on 8 June 2016.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI have had 4 steamers before, each has gone in the bin when the top trays have broken and become unusable. Spare trays were more than buying a new unit. Fed up with this I have splashed out and bought this one with stainless steel trays and a glass lid. I am delighted with it and can hopefully see many years of service out of this. It is incredibly quick and efficient, the digital display is a bonus as none of my previous ones had this. I use my steamer most nights and so this has already been put to the test. Yes I would definitely recommend this steamer if you are serious and use it regularly. The only thing is it is slightly larger than all the others I have had, but this is not a problem for me cooking for a family. If you only use it for one person it might be on the large side, but you can easily just use the bottom tray.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI’m actually on my second steamer as the first one stopped working. However, I accept that these things happen and I am nevertheless very please indeed with my steamer.

I spent ages looking for a stainless steel steamer as I was worried about the nasties in the plastic baskets of the others leaching into the food. This steamer is good to look at, well built and easy to use. It has a simple dial on the front and a digital readout. I personally like the fact that it does not have a keep warm feature, as with my old steamer I was getting rather fed up with the food continuing to cook if I did not take it out immediately. This steamer has the facility for a 100 degree steam as well as a fish setting, which cooks the fish gently and a yogurt setting. The steamer cooks without the slight pressure generated by the little collars found in most plastic steamers and so the heat seems to be more diffuse and gentle. Things cook well and evenly with no nasty surprises.

    I would recommend this steamer.
