I wanted to try a soundbar as I’d heard my parents’ friends say it helped them hear the TV better!

Before purchasing your soundbar I’d recommend you check out the soundbar’s measurements and the space you have for it to fit into your home. I didn’t do this and having purchased it online when it arrived I was amazed at the size of the soundbar. Fortunately it was just the same width as our television so it can sit in front of the television OK now I have removed all my candles.

So far I haven’t been able to use the Dolby Atmos surround sound which has been disappointing. I’m not sure if that is because my TV is perhaps not ‘young’ enough to support Dolby Atmos output and RCA mode connectivity – I have been struggling to work it out.

I did purchase a separate digital optical fibre cable and that seems to connect to the soundbar and work OK.

I have just been experimenting with the ‘MUSIC’ sound effect mode and adjusting the treble and bass while listening to Sam Smith In Concert at the BBC’s Radio Theatre that I’d recorded. I have to say I’m really impressed by this feature. Considering I’m watching at home the sound (volume pumped up) is great and I almost feel like I’m in the room with Sam himself performing in front of me. So much better than listening to the same programme directly from the television and even my musician husband is impressed!

    Fabulous MUSIC sound effect mode

I wanted a good quality soundbar for a long time. I had a pair of Majority speakers for my computer and they were excellent for the money I paid for them. So when I saw Majority made soundbars I took a leap of faith. This is a great piece of tech. Looks great, sounds great even at low volume down to the Dolby Atmos and a huge range of connectivity. Make sure your TV has HDMI ARC or Optical Output to get the best quality. It’s a BIG fat yes from me!

Ordered the sierra after hearing good things about it.i have an amp and several speakers already but it was to big for the room im using,so i needed something that would give a great sound and fill the room but not to shake the floorboards.the sound from this sounbar is stunning especially when playing atmos movies.but fantastic playing music especially flac ,hd music and even apples atmos music tracks…i connected an amazon firestick max to the back via one of the 3 hdmi inputs and it works like a dream.for a budget soundbar it really is a fantastic piece of kit.so if your looking for great sound to enhance your tv beyond its regular speakers then go for it .so yes imvery happy with the majority soundbar its built great looks great and sounds great.

    Super sound from a soundba

It sometimes makes weird pitched sounds via arc connection. Sounds were quite annoying even not so noisy. Also sound stops in the middle of a film playing (netflix and apple tv) almost every time… for no particular reason. Soundbar was connected via HDMI(ARC) to TV hdmi IN (ARC). The only way to get it back is to disconnect the soundbar from mains and connect it again. Otherwise sound is amazing. And excellent price (it decodes Dolby Atmos nicely from Apple tv) I really liked the product, it has a solid build, easy to set up, remote is simple and nice. I chose it amongst many others, but I returned it for a refund. Still on the search for the right one..

What attracted me to the sierra Dolby atmos soundbar was I have been looking on getting a sound-bar for a while now as with having a family we love watching movies together and wanted to bring that Cinema feel into the home with out actually paying Cinema prices, but never found the right one until I come across your product. As your product has multi ways to connect with it having HDMI,USB input,Bluetooth and other various ways I have been connecting it not only to my TV but to my Smartphone via Bluetooth and my daughters gaming console. With your sound-bar having Dolby Atmos we can really feel the movie come to life as the sound comes from different parts of the room and adds that extra bit of affect to complete that cinema feel. Surround sound for me is being able to bring the movie or music to life and being able to feel as tho your actually there and with your product it does all that making everything sound so much better and it enhances the sound quality. Lastly I would like to say not only have I found the perfect sound bar that suits my family and my self but the different modes that you have built into your sound-bar makes that experience of gaming music and films that but more personal.

    Amazing would recommend

We have had this soundbar for nearly a month now. Sound quality is excellent, when walking around the room the the sound actually follows you for that immersive experience. This is due to the number of speakers within the unit angled so they fill the room with sound.
The only slight downside is the size of this unit. The dimensions were listed but i didn’t actually expect it to be as bulky as it was. This is only a slight downside and it comes with the fixtures to wall mount which would minimise the impact, if your TV is not currently wall mounted and you were planning on housing both the TV and the soundbar on a TV unit the bottom of the TV will probably be obscured. If you were planning on wall mounting either TV or soundbar (or both) it should be fine. We currently haven’t wall mounted the soundbar.

With full Dolby Atmos surround sound this has the quality of most soundbars around 350 – 500 and as this was purchased for 200 at the time it is incredible value for money. There is no distortion in sound when going as loud as we dare. Volume level 15 is more than adequate but have tested it up to 35 (it will go to 50 if needed).

The remote is basic but it does the job. It allows you to manually adjust the treble and bass separately and it also has 4 preset sound settings. Film, Sport, News and 3D (ideal for gaming). The differences in each setting is not too noticeable with the exception of the 3D setting which sounds hollow, giving a sense of depth.

Overall, the Majority Sierra is a fantastic bit of kit, made by a British company (if you want to support home grown businesses) and packs the same punch as similar products that are double (and more) in price. A must have if you want to vastly upgrade your TV sound without breaking the bank.

Got this as my second soundbar, previous one was just a cheap effort.
Looked at sonos ect and thought I dont know if I want to spend 400 an extra for my tv sound.
So plumped for this, decent price, UK company.
    The sound is really good,
dolby atmos movies are brillant you can really hear the difference.
I went to my brothers he has the same tv as me a samsung 55 inch
My god it sounded rubbish compared to having this soundbar.
Decent bit of kit easy to set up, nice price for the quality of sound.
Only minus I have found is a slight delay in sound when turning over onto say Netflix and back to TV.
Wouldn’t mind adding a subwoofer at some point in the future, but couldn’t see one on the majority site.
The bass is fine ,by the way just to add the icing on the cake really.
To some up, ups a good bit of kit for the price,
    we’ll made.
    Easy to set up.
    Good sound.

I was looking to get something for my (almost teenage) daughter as she’s getting into her Netflix, Disney Plus, Xbox etc and also her music but doesn’t own CDs and DVDs like I did back in the day … so I got her a new TV and wanted something to complement that. I ordered a 55″ (from another retailer, only for convenience of payment options) and was offered 200 off a 450 Samsung soundbar .. it didn’t seem that special for the original price, and I love Samsung stuff but they’re not exactly known for their audio kit, so gave it a miss and went for this instead as I’ve had Majority before and loved the value for money (particularly the in-car DAB which was brilliant and a fraction of the cost of the competition)

First of all, fast delivery from Amazon of course, and the item is really well packaged so no chance of damage in transit. The remote control is really easy to use, so simple, a minor point was that it doesn’t come with the required batteries – I can’t remember the last time I purchased anything substantial like this that doesn’t come with batteries, but it’s no big deal I suppose. It also doesn’t come with a HDMI cable which is pretty much essential when you’re connecting your TV through it, but again no big problem, just something to consider when it comes out of the box. It comes with brackets but it’s not obvious what these are for and there doesn’t appear to be any information about where to attach these, not sure if I missed it.

The soundbar looks fantastic, gloss black finish and really classy. One thing to consider – I placed it in front of the TV which isn’t mounted on the wall and it may obscure the picture, the soundbar is about 8cm/3inches high if this is a similar situation for you.

The sound quality is really good, the main thing is IT’S LOUD!! Compared to the standard TV speakers, it will knock your socks off. The only thing I would say is … if you’re used to a multi-speaker set up (and we’re talking 7.1 costing hundreds of pounds), you’re going to miss the subwoofer. However, this isn’t a problem for me, as the daughter’s bedroom is directly above our living room, therefore the thought of having 100’s of watts of subwoofer pumping through the floor / ceiling doesn’t appeal to me! If you’re looking at this as your main unit, I would suggest looking at the subwoofer version.

Dead easy to connect a bluetooth device. Once it’s paired, switch the soundbar on, and within a couple of seconds it’s automatically connected. Really easy.

One last comment – the manual is available online as a printable PDF – thank goodness … the ‘white on beige’ printed material is impossible to read so the online manual is a real benefit if you’re as short-sighted as I am and have to read everything at arms length …

    Enjoy!

Quality item and value for money - very pleased

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was on the market for a new Soundbar after my old Soundbar gave up on me and with the wealth of manufacturers out there to get your money, I wanted to go for the best value for money and sound in that respect. I decided to purchase the Majority Sierra Soundbar, being already an owner of the Majority Oakington Stereo System and based on the user experience and sound quality coming from the latter.
I must say that this Soundbar exceeded my expectations as it took my home cinema to the next level. The built-in Dolby Atmos really take the sound quality to new heights, as even with the lack of a subwoofer, it manages to produce a rich and deep sound with a powerful bass compared to my previous Soundbar. To experience the best sound quality, it needs to be connected to the TV via an HDMI cable. If your TV has got an HDMI Arc port, it makes the integration of this sound system even more seamless. Please note that the HDMI is not supplied in the box and needs to be purchased separately.

The unit itself is not that bulky with a nice stylish, thin and discreet design, with stellar build quality. I like that fact the there is a front LED screen to notify of the different Dynamic Equaliser Sound Settings. I really enjoy this feature as these presets optimise the sound for each sound setting without having to manually set them for each sound type. It features six presets which are Film, Sport, News, Gaming, Music Streaming and Documentaries.
The Up-firing Speakers truly as stated bounces sound off the ceiling to surround the room with sound from above you and I was amazed how they managed that. The Surround Sound also enhances the sound quality with richer tone and a powerful bass, even with a lack of a separate subwoofer.
The Soundbar comes with a wealth of connectivity which includes HDMI ports, optical port, USB port and line-in. It also comes with a very handy remote control and line-in cables are supplied in the box to get you started.
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend this Soundbar to anyone on the market for a unit with built-in Dolby Atmos just like at the cinema and those who have limited space or could do without a bulky subwoofer without sacrificing on sound quality and the all important bass. A real bonus is that it comes with a 3-year warranty for extra piece of mind.

    Outstanding Piece of Ki

I’m now on my 2nd generation of thin flat screen tv. Whilst the picture might be great with smart tv capabilities the same can’t be said for the sound. Yes some are better than others but the nature of modern TVs just doesn’t cut the mustard with sound quality. I’ve connected the tv to the hi-fi, but that doesn’t give the practical aspects of remote control, etc.

So, a couple of years ago I tried some of the cheaper sound-bar options; whilst it did help it just wasn’t the gain I was looking for. Everyone said that to get that I needed to go the Sonos route but just can’t justify the substantial expense involved. So I have now got the Majority Sierra Dolby Atmos. Initial thoughts were, well, ok but not blown away, but that was in normal tv programmes that were speech biased. Playing around with the different settings did help but I wasn’t convinced it was giving the gain for the cost. I’ve now changed my mind having put on dvds with soundtracks that ask a bit more, need a more dynamic and projected sound, the latest being Lord of the Rings. It does feel that you with Frodo and the Orcs are in the room with you! I’m watching these via the Majority DVD player and uses the Dolby atmos facility. Playing with the settings I have found the 3D option is just that and the news works best for general viewing. You do also have the ability to adjust the bass and treble via the remote should you want to. To allow these facilities needed the hdmi connection and using the ARC facility has allowed full integration with my Sony tv.
Whilst there are cheaper units out there, it does seem that you do need to spend a certain amount to get enough gain. If you want a more dynamic, fuller soundtrack I would recommend the Majority Sierra. If you’re new to Majority I now have 5 of their products and would certainly recommend their products as good value and full of features.

If you watch films - get it!

Nice clear sound. It makes more enjoyable watching movies! Bass seems OK even no subwoofer! Only thing I would say negative is when you change like from Netflix to prime or just TV. Sound delayes for couple of seconds.

In the past I have bought a few Majority items and have been impressed by the quality of the items and the value for money you receive. After Christmas I wanted to buy a soundbar to improve our existing home audio and after looking around for something at a decent price, decided to give the Sierra a go. Based on past experiences with Majority I had fairly high hopes for the Sierra and I wasn’t disappointed!

It arrived a few days after being ordered and the first thing that strikes you about the Sierra, after getting it out of the box, is that it is a serious looking piece of kit. It is fairly large, as can be seen in the attached photos, it is quite heavy but it feels solid and well put together. It also looks good, which is always a bonus. In the box itself are all the bits and pieces you would expect in terms of leads, etc. although, if I had one minor niggle, it was the fact that there weren’t batteries included for the remote control but not the end of the world.

Getting it set up was pretty straightforward and to try it out initially I just connected it to my TV using the cables provided. It is worth keeping in mind that, to take advantage of Dolby Atmos you need to connect using a HDMI cable. It definitely is worth doing this though and in fact, certainly for me, this was the main reason that I chose the Sierra. Once connected via HDMI you really notice a big difference and the Dolby Atmos is a major improvement over the home audio we had in place before in terms of quality of sound. Going back to connection, you can also connect to devices via Bluetooth, which was very easy and straightforward.

Once it was all up and running the other thing I was particularly impressed about was the Dynamic Equaliser Sound Settings, which adjust depending on what you’re watching or listening to, which was great. Very good for gaming, watching films, sport, etc. on the TV and then easy to switch across to a phone to listen music through the speaker.

Overall I really like the Sierra and, although it’s not a cheap item, you really do get good value for money, particularly when you compare it to similar items from other companies. It is something I would recommend if you are in the market for upgrading your home audio, it looks good, sounds great and, thus far, I have been really delighted with it.

Great piece of kit at a great price

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo easy to set up just plug your hdmi cable into the hdmi ports on your tv and soundbar and any other equipment you want to add into your tv’s remaining hdmi ports and that’s it everything is connected and can be controlled by your tv remote.
    Happy sound experience
