The DJV182Z is a top handle jigsaw powered by 18V Li-ion LXT slide type battery (not included) to produce 800 up to 3,500 rpm. The brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demand of the application, and eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and efficiently for longer life.
The Jigsaw has a variable speed control dial to enable the user to match the speed to the application for optimal cutting performance in a variety of materials. Tool-less blade clamp for easy blade attachment and removal, trigger switch with lock on button and change lever for 3 orbital settings and straight cutting.“Soft no load” function to automatically reduce the motor speed during idling to suppress the vibration of the machine body.

I’ve got a circular saw and a table saw but haven’t owned a Jigsaw in over 10 years. I bought this as I wanted to cut some curved corners on some diy projects I was doing.
I was put off by memories of weak performance and battery power on my previous Jigsaws. I eventually went for this based on the reviews and the fact I could pay for it through the fantastic Amazon five payments scheme.
I was a little concerned when it arrived in a slightly tattered cardboard box, but any concerns I had quickly disappeared.
Due to this being a bare unit, I added one of my charged Makita batteries and started trying it out. Incredible ease of use. Very light weight. Easy to change blades. Cuts through wood like butter. And LOVE slow start feature.
Fantastic cutting ability and nothing like the jigsaws of old.
In summary, an incredible saw at an excellent price. One of the best power tools I’ve bought.
Classy jigsaw, despite the slow start and lack of a variable trigger
As soon as you get the know how to properly use this saw, it’s excellent.
Extremely fast cutting or heavy timbers.
I crosscut 9×2 etc using it and a Stanley 12 speed square.
No need to reach for my circular saw.
Brilliant also for scrolling.
Bit expensive.
The slow start can be turned off.

Habe mir die Sge hauptschlich fr die Arbeit mit Holz gekauft. Liegt gut in der Hand und sgt leicht durch die Bretter. Die mitgelieferten Sgebltter bleiben lange scharf.

Sin duda ,el no usar cable de corriente es su fuerte. Para cortes varios se hace cmoda . No creo que sea tan potente como la que va con cable , que tambin utilizo para trabajos mes exigentes La uso 9 de cada 10 veces . Es mas verstil.
I have used a few different jigsaws but I love the weight and balance of this one . It cuts accurately and easily.

Very smooth and powerful. No issues with slow or fast start…easy change, but you do have to read the instruction manual.
Praktische und hochwertige Stichsge von Makita. Mehrere unterschiedliche Geschwindigkeitsstufen und Einstellungsmodi. inkl. einige Reservebltter und eines Absaugstutzen (wo man den Staubsauger anschlieen kann). Bin sehr zufrieden und kann das Gert nur weiterempfehlen.
I’ve always preferred Makita kit over other rival brands, and this did not disappoint. I’ve used it several times, for various different jobs, along with the other Makita tools I purchased. Never had any issues with any of them!
Love it. The only flaw is the mini Allen key that comes with it.. it will fall out and you will lose it. You’ll replace the key… and you’ll lose that one too.

I am using it for almost every DIY job. Makita is a very reputable brand, for sure, the seller however, has met all my expectations. That was a great purchase! Would consider to use this seller name again. quick delivery, item as described.
Trs satisfait par la prcision et la qualit de coupe (bonnes lames) bon clairage de la zone, facilit de prise en main.
Temps d’adaptation au dbut, car la vitesse de la lame dmarre doucement et acclre une fois bien en prise avec le matriau sans pour autant avoir une action sur la gchette. Pas encore test l’aspiration ce qui serait un plus.
I love this jigsaw. I understand how some people may not like the soft start function but I like it. It can also be turned off if required.

Having lost my previous Jigsaw in a flood. I needed a replacement, I decided on the Makita DJV182Z Cordless Brushless Jigsaw (Body Only), 18 V as I have several other Makita products and several batteries, so this replacement product was purchased to fill the gap in my workshop requirements. I have only had this product for a few weeks and used in on two occasions, it is an impressive tool and so far, I am pleased with the purchase.
Super smooth and easy to use. Perfect for DIY projects around the house.
This is the brushless version of the DJV180, and it is a far better saw, it runs longer and faster, and quieter on a standard 18v battery. Fast blade release / install, electric brake and soft ramp up start with speed selector. Superb.
Brilliant bit of kit and cuts straight provided you don’t force the blade! Not a big user of this but again can’t go wrong with Makita.
Just a quick review. Compared to my old Bosch & Black and Decker plug in jigsaw this is excellent. Accurate, smooth, powerful and with a decent battery it lasts for ages.

Ich mchte meine Rezension aber nutzen um einen fr viele wichtigen Hinweis zu geben:
Die von vielen Bewertern bemngelte Nullast-Drehzahl ist abschaltbar!
Die Funktion bewirkt, dass die Drehzahl erst richtig nach oben geht, wenn Druck auf die Sge ausgebt wird.
Ein Blick in die Beschreibung verrt wie diese Funktion schnell abschaltbar ist:
1. Gert ausschalten.
2. Drehzahl auf 1 stellen
3. Gert oben einschalten
4. Drehrad auf 6 drehen, dann direkt wieder auf 1
5. Das Licht leuchtet 2 mal zur Besttigung
Ab diesem Zeitpunkt ist die Nullast-Drehzahl immer direkt so hoch wie man sie bei Last mchte 🙂
Die Sge merkt sich die Einstellung, bis man sie (wie oben) wieder deaktiviert und zeigt das durch 2maliges Blinken des Lichts bei Einschalten.
Ich hoffe dass das viele lesen und damit geholfen ist.
Die Stichsge wird mit einem Makita-Akku betrieben (wird nicht mit geliefert), dadurch keine lstigen Kabel. Am besten gefllt mir der einfache Wechsel der Stichsgebltter. Keine lstigen Schrauben sondern ein Klappmechanismus mit dem man die Sgebltter einfach reinstecken bzw. rausziehen kann.

Ich kaufe die Stichsge zum zweiten Mal. Nach 8 Jahren in der Zimmerei ist die Fhrung vorne ausgeleiert. Aber mal im Ernst – eine Stichsge, die 8 Jahre harten gewerblichen Einsatz mitmacht – die darf das auch.Ich habe mich so dran gewhnt, dass ich das gleiche Modell wieder gekauft habe. Den Schlitten kann man kippen (mit Imbusschraube), Pendelhub und Geschwindigkeit einstellen natrlich auch. Mit Akku eben auf der Leiter was kappen – super. Kommt nach 24h Solo in einfachen Karton, 6 Sgebltter lagen bei.

This thing is an absolute joy to use. Vibration is minimal, noise is acceptable and if you know what you’re doing you’ll get a seriously accurate, clean cut out of it every time. I like everything about it.
Lovely piece of kit. Lit area for ease of sight and (when it runs at high sped) blower to clear the dust while cutting. Lovely.

Love Makita products and this doesn’t disappoint in build quality. I don’t mind the slow start feature, nice to know I can turn it off. Perfect for working on my van conversion. No leads brilliant. I like the blade change facility. It would have been nice if they supplied a guide fence. It is also a shame you have to buy batteries and charger separately. It hides the overall cost of the item. Still once you have the batteries they can be used on a multitude of other Makita toys.
I had a consumer grade (corded) Bosch and this is light-years ahead. The precision and control this gives me makes using it a pleasure
Love the quick change blade holder and the auto slow start. Having to press the unlock button every time is a bit of a nuisance but you soon get used to it. Only complaint is that I’d doesn’t blow the dust away so sum times difficult to see cutting line.
Great jigsaw, glad I went for the 18v as the weight is not an issue. Very tough on metal. Eats through wood great. With the saw adjustment, scrolling was excellent. Love the soft start and the quick tool-free blade change.

Power and accuracy are very good.
Awesome bit of kit really nice to use low vibration. Slow start and quickly gets up to speed, blades really easy to insert and hot blades can be removed without touching. Feels really solid and well built and a lot quieter than I expected. Cutting through wood like butter. Comes with vacuum attachment. Very pleased highly recommended.

Well, nothing. It’s a thing of beauty.
The action is so smooth (obviously your cut will depend on the blade you use)
It’s build quality is second to none and the brushless motor gives you that bit of extra torque as well as a longer run time.
Some reviews have commented on the soft start feature. I generally like it, but it isn’t suitable for all materials. Turning it off is simple, as the manual explains.
Turn the speed dial to 1, then press the unlock button. Turn the speed dial to 6 and then back to 1. The leds will flash twice and that’s it. The soft start feature is now off, and will remain off until you reverse the procedure.
The LEDs are really useful. They have appeared on nearly all of the latest Makita tools. At first I thought they might be an unnecessary gimmick, but they really help with visibility when cutting and I miss them on the tools that don’t have them.
In use the saw really feels ‘right’ in your hand, it’s so easy to control and the cuts just flow.
I’m a left hander, but control is just as good as it is for right handers.
There is a lock ‘on’ button which is technically on the wrong side for left handers, but it’s not something I ever use, so not a concern for me.
The different orbital settings work well. You can either have it as a straight up and down cut, or choose 3 different orbital cuts, where it cuts in an elliptical motion. You’ll soon decide which you prefer for what materials.
Blade change is simplicity itself. No tools needed. Just push in the blade to lock it.
To release, there is a plastic lever at the front of the saw. A quick flick and the blade is free.
It’s one of the best systems there is.
Blade wise, it takes the standard T blade, which most (but not all) jigsaws now use.
The base plate angle is adjusted by a single Allen bolt, with the Allen key kept securely in the base plate itself.
There is a provision at the front of the, base plate to fit a guide fence for making straight cuts.
One isn’t supplied as standard, but it is a standard Makita fit, and the one supplied with my circular saw, fits perfectly.
Speed is adjustable with a 6 speed wheel. Which I prefer as its great for limiting the saw to a low speed when cutting metal or acrylic.
It comes with a dust nozzle to connect to a vacuum and 6 blades.
2 x metal, 2 x coarse wood cut and 2 x fine wood cut.
Overall, this is one of my favourite tools, if you want an 18v cordless Jigsaw, this would be my first choice everytime.

The reason I have reduced it by one star is the trigger is just on the wolf anniversary the speed follow the speed dial I would’ve preferred it if the trigger was favorable as well.

Great piece of kit. I’d remove half a star only bcs you will have to adjust to the slow start of the instrument. It needs a bit of resistance for it to go full speed. Once you adjust to it you will be fine.
Easy to change blades, accurate and reliable.
Time will tell how much usage it can take.
Habe mir die Maschine als Alternative fr eine Marke der Grnen gekauft da ich von Makita bereist mehrere Gerte besitze. Wie immer ist die Qualitt mehr als ausreichend fr den Hobby Bereich. Wie sich die Maschine im tglichen Gebrauch verhlt kann ich nicht sagen. Nach meinem Gefhl wrde ich sie aber wieder kaufen.
Etwas gewhnungsbedrftig ist der Sicherheitsschalter wo die Maschine komplett ausgeschaltet werden kann, sowie die Geschwindigkeitsverstellung. Sie knnte etwas besser erreichbar sein whrend der Schneidens.

Great quality as you would expect from makita. Cuts easily in MDF and plywood , using a thinner blade it lost some accuracy but still does the job.
would be nice to have speed adjustment as well, but otherwise very powerful and precise and light enough to use

Word of advice: put painters tape on the bottom (as in the black part that will rub against the surface you are cutting) if it is a finished face as it may produce mild scratches or marks.

Muy buena compra. Aunque la he usado poco puedo decir que se ve robusta. Pesa un poco pero se maneja bien. La luz para alumbrar la zona de corte ayuda bastante. Lo que no me gusta tanto es que la regulacin de velocidad no est en el gatillo. Est en un lateral de la herramienta.
Akkuverbrauch ist recht hoch, ist aber bei der Leistung OK, wer so ein Teil kauft, hat wahrscheinlich eh schon mehr Akkus.

Great jigsaw, comes with a small selection of blades, although I needed an ultra-sharp one to cut some worktop cleanly, Does not come with a fence, but you can buy one as an option.

Every cordless Makita tool I have ever owned has not let me down. This one included. Just be sure to follow the lithium ion battery instruction for longer life out of your lithium batteries.
After over 6 months use, I have decided the soft start function can get a little frustrating when cutting thin material. Overall still a very nice jigsaw.

Die Sgebltter sind dank Schnellwechselsystem in 3 Sekunden getauscht, eine Kunststoffabdeckung fr empfindliche Oberflchen ist ebenfalls im Lieferumfang wie ein Ansaugadapter den man links oder rechts von der Sge montieren kann. Ich betreibe sie mit dem 5 AH Akku von Makita und habe ich bis jetzt noch nicht alle bekommen, daher kann ich ber die Laufzeit noch nicht allzuviel sagen. Den 1,5 AH Akku der mit im Lieferumfang war, habe ich an meinen Akkuschrauber gemacht, ist bei manchen Arbeiten angenehmer wenn dieser etwas leichter ist. Zudem ist der in 20 Minuten wieder voll aufgeladen.
Fazit: Die Sge hat alles was ein Heim und (Hand) werker sich wnscht, man kann durch den Akkubetrieb auch mal schnell an stellen Sgen wo man sonst erst htte Kabeltrommel mit hinnehmen mssen. Eine Lasermarkierung hat sie nicht, ist aber auch nicht zwingend notwendig. Wenn man auf einer lngere Strecke einen geraden Schnitt machen mchte kann man den optional erhltlichen Anschlag oder eine Fhrungsschiene nehmen.
Ich hatte bis jetzt immer Gerte eines anderen renommierten Herstellers die Preise sind im Prinzip hnlich, jedoch werde ich mehr und mehr zu Makita tendieren (Akkus sind zu den eigen Gerten mehr oder weniger kompatibel, wenn gleich auch noch einige Verbesserungen an den Gerten, oder aber an der Lieferung vorgenommen werden knnte. Was dann zumindest bei mir den einen Stern mehr ausmachen wrde.
Bei der Sticksge wre es das mitliefern eines Ersatz Spanreissschutzes der war bei mir gleich hinber 🙁 Ansonsten Daumen!
Use this with a 4ah battery and am surprised how long it lasts, brilliant jigsaw, wish I’d got one years ago.
…und wieder eine Makita mehr im Werkzeugregal. Das sieht nicht nur toll aus, das Teil ist auch wirklich toll!
Nachdem ich den etwas nervigen, ich nenne es mal Entriegelungs- und Lichtschalter am vorderen oberen Teil der Maschine gefunden hatte, ging das Maschinchen sauber los. Sicher sind solche Sicherungseinrichtungen notwendig aber halt nervig.
Nun aber genug gemeckert, der Spa beginnt. Als nchstes war ich erschrocken, wie langsam die Maschine anluft, da war der Vorgnger wesentlich zgiger. Nachdem ich aber ein Stck Holz vor die Sge gehlten habe, ballert die pltzlich los, als ob sie das Holz fressen will. Ein super sauberer Schnitt durch die pltzlich hohe Pendelhubzahl, wenn man den “Beschleunigerschalter” nach rechts bewegt, wird der Schnitt logisch nicht mehr ganz so sauber aber zum Beispiel beim bearbeiten von USB-Platten ist das auch nicht notwendig, dort marschiert das Maschinchen wie ein heisses Messer durch Butter, es macht echt Laune, damit zu arbeiten.
Die 18-Volt-Akku-Technik kannte ich von zwei anderen Makitas schon, da gibt es zum Thema Ausdauer, Leistung und Aufladezyklus nichts zu meckern. Man muss halt beim Kauf darauf achten, dass alle Gerte mit den gleichen Akkus ausgestattet sind, ob die strkeren Akkus auch hier funktionieren, weiss ich nicht.
Ergebnis: Extrem geniale Profi-Maschine zum angemessenen Preis, alle erdenklichen Funktionen, Schnellspannfutter, toller Akkutechnik, schickes Design, sehr helle Schnittbeleuchtung, intelligente Luftfhrung fr saubere Schnittstelle. Sicherheitsschalter nervig aber ich mchte eigentlich keinen Stern deshalb abziehen. Wer weiss, welche UVV-Vorschrift da wieder Schuld ist…

Die Stichsge verndert ihre Geschwindigkeit im Betrieb auf Basis des Wiederstands. Mehr Druck ist volle Geschwindigkeit. Zu wenig Druck ist langsame Geschwindigkeit. Eine Funktion, die mich fters nervt.
Schon nach sehr kurzer Ruhezeit schaltet die Sge die Stromversorgung aus. Man muss die Sge erneut einschalten bevor man nit der Arbeit weiter machen kann. Fr professionelles Arbeiten – meiner Meinung nach – ungeeignet. Fr mich immer wieder nervig.
Leider hat Makita diese Abschaltung auch bei anderen Maschinen eingebaut. Auch bei der Motorsense empfinde ich das Feature als lstig.
