Absolutely wonderful and received with excitement as I gifted to my other half. BBQs this summer we’re a weekly occurrence! Bring in Summer 2024.
Food was cooked to perfection just make sure you keep the phone close so it doesn’t lose connection.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEnables you to cook roast beef exactly as you want. Dead easy to set up use. No more constantly opening oven door and taking roast out in the middle of all your other preparations to check temperature, no more error. Worked really well through the thick doors of my old Aga. I am looking forward to trying this gadget out on other recipes.

Just purchased on the other day on prime day and just tried it for the first time. My roast beef was cooked perfectly. The product work like the say. The only downside is the slighty steep price.

Have now used this product a few times, for steak, chicken, salmon fillets and baked potatoes. Each time the results have been excellent. Rare steak, moist, but well cooked chicken & salmon and fluffy potatoes. No need to weigh items or use guesswork to get fantastic results everytime Meater
does all the calculating. Great buy. Highly recommended.

We’ve had this product for over a year, it is more a case of user error as opposed to hardware issues with a few cooks not being what I was trying but can’t fault the equipment! It really is a neat gadget and I wouldn’t ever be without one. 15 thermometers haven’t lasted and can’t be used whilst cooking with BBQ/Oven. it really is a kitchen essential and well worth the price.

Perfect for rotisserie cooking or bbq cooking. Really decent for those long, low and slow cooks.
If I was buying it again, would probably invest in the Wi-Fi block one so you can leave the house and still keep an eye on the food.

I bought this product to cook my first ever Christmas turkey and it was effective in this regard. Setting it up and what not is relatively easy, as is getting to grips with the app and how it works. After using it for a while, I get the feeling that it slightly underestimates cooking time if the probe is not properly inserted, this is the most difficult part of using it, and has required googling the profiles of various cuts of meat to understand the thickest parts. That’s said, I am happy with the product, and I have had a number of great outcomes.

Great temp probes from use on the bbq to cooling chicken in the oven or steak in the pan. I would like to be able to differentiate between the probes I have when they are inserted in to meat lol as it would be easier when cooking several steaks. If I could name them I would know which steak was the ready one without effort
But I use them a lot and love them 5/5

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is, somehow, a very American product – and not in a completely good way. Its box, which doubles as a charging station for the probe and a retransmitter for the signal to your phone feels like cardboard with a faux-wood finish and can get grubby very quickly.

The phone app is ludicrously gaudy with alarms, flashing lights and vivid graphics.

How well does it work? Well, turn off any power management on your phone (or the app will throw a tantrum) reduce the minimum suggested temperature by 10 degrees C (or your meat will be cooked to a ‘safe’ temperature = overcooked) and the Meater works… OK.

The fact that the probe can cope with (reasonable) oven temperatures is impressive, but the dire warnings about exposing it to direct flame makes me wonder how long it would survive on a charcoal bbq or wood-fired grill.

It would be a much better product with an elegant, practical, kitchen-friendly German-crafted recharging receptacle and some good French understanding of how to cook meat properly without cremating it.

Would I buy another? Not at full price, certainly, but maybe when it is, once more, heavily discounted. Verdict? Meh.

It doesn’t like changing temperature targets after cook start that’s not so good. On the plus side I slow cooked a large joint of beef on a Weber charcoal BBQ 8 hour cook never had to lift lid or add charcoal brilliant accessory. Wish they were a bit cheaper. Even long range version lost comms a few times. They should make a web based version so we don’t have to use Bluetooth.

Great product, im pleased we have these devices that enhance our ability to perfect every meal.
Cooked chicken breast, pork chop and rump steak so far, all with great results.
The rest time is equally as important as the cook time and it even tells you this.
Simple set up and great app.
It really has taken my cooking to the next level.
Will try with larger joints in the next few months.

If like me you rely on Voiceover to interact with your phone, the accompanying App for this thermometer is very accessible, and the safety notch up to which the probe must be inserted in to a piece of meat can clearly be felt.

If you decide to purchase one of these, you’ll be able to consign either the touch test, asking for sighted assistance or guess work to history.

I’ve used mine on both the Barbecue and in the oven, perfect results thus far at least.

    A couple of cautionary notes:

I can’t speak for the accessibility of the accompanying android App.

I haven’t yet tried to connect to a smart home assistant.

There is a fair amount of probe which needs to be inserted ahead of the aforementioned safety notch, it will take some getting used to for a smaller piece of meat, persistence is the key here.

If you’re totally reliant on a screen reader and are thinking that more than one probe might be handy, do not buy the meter block. To the best of my knowledge, some functions of that device need to be performed via the inbuilt touch screen, to the best of my understanding as said, I don’t want to risk buying one only to find that I can’t use it. Wait for a deal to come along and buy an additional Meater Plus.

It’s happy days from me, happier still next deal when I can buy another.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAwesome bit of kit bought this as an aid for my offset smoker to monitor meat and ambient temp at the same time. When set up, very easy to set up as well, you can set alerts for when the temperature falls bellow and rises above a certain temp, allowing me to get on with other jobs knowing my brisket was safe.
The app was easy to navigate and full of useful tips, info and video’s.
After a seven hours in a smoker the probe was pretty black and I was concerned about getting it clean but it rubbed off with warm water and a spouge scrubber, happy days.
This little device lets you know how long your cook will take, what temp your meat is, what the ambient temperature is in your oven and when to take your meat out and how long to rest for.
    Highly recommend the Meater+.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed a few times now. Good results. Small niggles:
    1. Range. Phone disconnects if I move too far away and the fact you need the box near the MEATER as well is a bit weird but have learned.
    2. Estimated cooking time. Took about 20 minutes to give me an estimate on yesterday’s roast. Not expecting instant but maybe 5 – 10 minutes?
    3. When you first get it, you need to charge it. Meant I couldn’t use it for its first planned cook.

    On the plus side:
    1. Results are good
    2. You can add in alerts for other things (e.g., turn the meat after x minutes)
    3. It works on the BBQ too.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought this for slow roasts and BBQ cooks. It definitely works although the ambient temperature seems to be a few degrees off.

Also although this states it is Wi-Fi it’s somewhat hidden that you will need another device running the software to enable to cloud side of it over Wi-Fi otherwise you are limited to Bluetooth, was ok for me as I had done my research but nothing on Amazon explicitally states a 2nd device aside from your mobile phone is required so be aware.

Love the ease of use of the app and the recommended cooking temps for each type of cook, Estimated time a bit hit and miss but much better if the meat is has warmed to room temperature prior – as it should be.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was sceptical about this MEATER but it’s great the only problem I have Is it times the meat for any poultry or meat your cooking as they would in a top restaurant so since I came out of my cancer treatment they always advised to cook my meat all the way through now we all know when we go to a restaurant and order say a steak they ask how would you like it very well done I say but it always comes back bloody in the middle and so does the MEATER it cooks great but I like my meat cooked all the way through I can hear the people say but that’s not how they cook in restaurants if you visit a top restaurant these top chefs have their meat reared on a farm they know and and how it’s been treated and what they have given it not the meat we buy is from anywhere in the world and false fed god knows what so why would you not want to cook the meat all the way through to kill off anything that you don’t want to digest, they are always telling us to cook our food throughly because the meat has probably been genetically modified food which we all know has properties in which we eat and can change our genes if you think this is wrong look it up for yourselves, now I’m not saying that you should cook your meats a certain way do what you like but me I want it fully cooked and the MEATER doesn’t accommodate this, but all in all it’s great.

This is a great gadget that really makes a difference to cooking meat. It really take the uncertainty out of cooking poultry and helps those tempted to over/under cook. It’s expensive but.. it’s great to use and is easy to clean and store.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have lived in fear of cooking roast beef or lamb for a long time. NO LONGER! The MEATER is officially my new best friend. It was simple to set up and very user friendly. The most complicated part was making sure I selected the correct cut of beef that I was cooking! Not a problem. I read the label! Pop the meat in the oven… and, well, do as you are told. Take it out when notified. (Breathe) Rest. Eat. Sorted. Perfect beef. Hoorah. No longer scared. Thank you!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI recently purchased the MEATER Plus 50m Long Range Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

The setup process was quick and easy and the app is user-friendly and provides detailed cooking information. The thermometer provides accurate temperature readings and the long range feature allows me to monitor my food from a distance, which is great for outdoor grilling.

I also appreciate the sleek design and compact size of the thermometer. Overall, I would highly recommend the MEATER Plus 50m Long Range Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer to anyone who wants to take their cooking game to the next level.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this primarily for use on my BBQ rotisserie as my wired temperature probes can’t be used here for obvious reasons. The pairing to my phone is seamless and the cooking times are very accurate.
One word of warning. The probe does not like high heat so steer clear of searing a steak with the probe in place. It’s better to use the reverse sear method and remove the probe before finishing your steak over extremely high heat.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSaw a friend using a Meater before I bought one, so knew what to expect and had good insight into how to use it. The device is much more accurate than I have suggested but the reality is that you have to become more involved by understanding exactly how you want each joint cooked, and how each joint will cook; you don’t just plug and play. The end product is not as simple as deciding on your required temperature, you need to get to know how you like your meat. My first attempt undercooked a lamb leg very badly, my second was better with a chicken and I think I’ll get better as I gain experience but we don’t cook joints that often, so it will take a while. That said, this is a hugely pleasing and high quality gadget.

Used it for the first time yesterday on a filet. Absolutely perfect medium rare. Really easy to set up and use with iPhone. Way, way better than the wired Thermopro I used to have. The old adage is true – “buy cheap, buy twice”.

Never under/over cook your food again.
I bought this on prime day so was quite a bit cheaper. Works great, there is a little bit of set up but not complicated. Make sure base is near the probe so no connection issues. Makes bbq a lot easier & tastier when cooked right.

This probe may be expensive, but once you have it you will understand why and know it’s worth every penny. Forget all those tangled wires and switch to this truly wireless probe. Another great feature is it’s TWO PROBES IN ONE! The pointy end is the internal meat temperature sensor and the handle end is the external/ambient temperature sensor. The accompanying app is a real triumph and takes all the guesswork out of cooking and so far has not put a foot wrong since owning. Your cooks are also stored for future reference and notes can be added. All in all, this is the best cooking device I’ve ever owned.

    Perfect meat probe

I cooked a pork loin joint for the first time in my newly acquired airfrier.
I also used my Meater for the first time.
I programmed my Meater on my iPad and watched everything from my living room.
The joint was cooked to perfection!

    meater for the first time.

  37. Anonymous says:

The App was easy and intuitive to set up and select the right cut and cook time for a large joint. I used mine the first time on a silverside joint for 7 people which I hadn’t tried before. Not one to get wrong! The MEATER helped me cook it to perfection with minimal monitoring. I already used a thermometer to measure the internal temperature of meat but this still requires estimated times and a few checks towards the end of the cook requiring lifting the lid and disturbing the constant temperature of the BBQ. This takes all the guess work out. My son recommended it to me as a “game changer” after buying one and I fully agree. Highly recommended if you do serious cooking on the BBQ probably not required if you are just an occasional burger and sausage kind of BBQ cook.

I have been wanting one of these for so long so took full advantage when they were on offer.

Downloading and set up of the app is really easy, connecting via Bluetooth is also a doddle and you can be cooking in 5 minutes!

The thermometer itself is literally just a metal stick on a wooden block (which requires batteries to charge the device) but don’t let that put you off! The magic is inside and it really works wonders when cooking meat. I have done Pork, Beef Joints, Steak, Chicken and lots more and its been spot on every single time. I have even tested it with an older thermometer that I owned which is from another well known brand and they echo each other with temperatures.

It can get a bit scary when first using if cooking a Sunday dinner for example for the app to give you a estimated finish time so you can plan your other dishes, but don’t let that put you off, it does reveal it eventually and gives you plenty of time to get the other components ready for your meal. It also allows you the correct amount of time for resting which is also very accurate.

The only thing that I do check is the UK recommended temperatures and programme them manually for my required temperate on some meats because I believe it’s set for the American market, which is largely the same as ours but I think their pork is “ready” at a lower temperature than what we have in the UK, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.

It’s also worth noting how high you can cook with the probe inserted, for example you are likely to damage it in a Pizza Oven at 900 degrees.

The range is good but definitely not 50 metres so try not to be too far away.

I would absolutely recommend this, so next time it’s on a deal, try to get one!

It’s more expensive than the inkbird wired thermostat but the software makes up for it. It’s much better at finding what you’re cooking and handling rest times.
