We bought it as a birthday present for a lockdown 4 year old who loves penguins. We only saw her response on zoom and ongoing in photos, but it was an instantly adored gift and such a lovely size for a 4 year old (almost as big as her!). It is incredibly soft and cuddly (we received it then wrapped it to deliver) and good quality. My Granddaughter absolutely loves her penguin. We were unfortunate in having to get a replacement as the first one came apart at a seam on the cheek and the fluff started to come out. I had no problem in getting a refund on this and so far the replacement appears to be OK. Fingers crossed as she will be so upset if this one develops the same flaw

My son had asked Santa for a really life penguin’ this is the closest thing we could find without adopting one (which he would expect to come live with us) he fell in love with this and sleeps with it every night, sits and watched movies with it too. This really is a large toy, longer than my son. He now has a double bed and looks hilarious curled up next to this at night. The Melissa and Doug brand is very reputable and the quality of this is no disappointment. If there was a disappointment is that after snagging a bargain, the price dropped by about 7, although now gone up. Besides I’m very happy and so is my son.
granddaughter loves it not quite as good I thought as the photo back halves of the tiger seems to me a bit to small for the head size but cant complain about the quality
Thought it was a /lot/ smaller then it was when purchased, my mistake, as it’s half the size of myself as a 5’6 woman – but, my friend loved it! So didn’t have to return it. Child friendly besides the eyes, which are made of plastic. Not tried to pick off, but, they seem sturdy. Is a little bland to the touch, but still pleasant. Very happy
Ok, so yes this is nothing but a very large penguin but if you have a penguin fan then this is something that they will no doubt like. My seven year old daughter got this for her twin brother for Christmas, he’s a big penguin fan and loved it. It is probably the most popular present that he got! He’s even taken it to bed with him which is quite amusing as it really is large. I’ve no idea what we will do with it long term but for now it stands next to his bed and he’s happy. It seems to be great quality and is soft and cuddly.
Very speedy delivery and packaged very well. The overall look of the Orca is fantastic, lovely detail of the eye. The size is large and it gives a life like feel. I would recommend this product to any orca fan.
Gorgeous lion, full of character, great detail and size make it look much more realistic than many plush toys, majestic but not scary. Autistic son loves it, big enough to hug and lie on while engaging in other activities. Quality is good, each lion we have purchased (a few now) has given years of love under extreme 24/7 use. Each lion comes well packed in a relatively small box quickly springing to full size upon removal.
My son is penguin mad so when I saw this I knew it was the perfect birthday present for him. He loves it, and it comes everywhere with us despite being bigger than my son. It’s very soft, and pretty lifelike.
Doug has become Reggie and is my young grandson’s best friend and was a great help when the little chap had to go to hospital.

One small issue – the stitching in one area on the tiger’s back was slightly open – nothing coming out of it except the piece of thread. Otherwise cannot fault it!

The animals looked great, lovely and soft body with a more solid head. The quality of the finish was excellent and the boys loved them.
They are big though, so the lads’ parents were not overly enthused to see them both and the amount of space they were going to take up! Yet, my brother had a snooze on the lion later on in the day and found him very comfortable!!

I read the reviews on this before hand and was cautious but I am so pleased with this. It’s gorgeous and really well made! I can’t wait for my little boy to unwrap on his birthday as I know he will love it. The price changes often so I wouldn’t have wanted to pay the full rate but had the price not lowered I think it’s worth every penny even at full price! Very rarely are we let down with Melissa and Doug Toys.
My severely disabled daughter really loves penguins. For Christmas, we have arranged an adoption package for King penguins in The Falklands. However, the package does not include a soft toy. We wanted to find one, which looks as realistic as possible. As my daughter has no vision, this penguin will tick a number of boxes. He/she is perfect!!! The quality is excellent, with a smooth, silky-feel fabric. The colours & markings are very realistic and he/she definitely has a real cuddle factor (I have already tested that out!!!!)

Not soft as a plush toy, more cheap and cheerful. Big certainly and my son who had it for his 1st birthday loves it. Lots of toys are softer, this isn’t. Its like big a cushion really and lives on the floor.
As I’ve always been a fan of Melissa and Doug products because of their high quality, I didn’t expect less when I ordered this lion plush toy. It was everything I had hoped for. My 3-year old son loves it, rides it, constantly pulls its mane which surprisingly stays in place and includes it in his pretend play with the rest of his friends. I highly recommend it!

How can you not low a giant Dolphin in your life. So cool that when they were on offer I saw it and bought one and my wife saw it and bought one. The next day when the parcels arrived a degree of hilarity that two arrived. So cool, we kept both. Nicely made, super plush and wonderful additions to any house.
I am becoming a fan of this make. My little girl had ordered the Melissa & Doug giant turtle for xmas and it was amazing; huge and beautiful, still one of her favourite teddies; this massive dolphin did not disappoint either, but I personally found the eyes a bit of a let down. Still would highly recommend. It is well made, lovely detailed tail, very big and cuddly and at an excellent price. Soft and really nice!

if you child or you loves penguins, then this is a must. As we live close to a Zoo that has Emperor Penguins, we know it is as tall/big as a real one.
The Plush is soft, fluffy, stands up well, even in the bed and is great.

Wow! It’s big, it’s soft, it’s cute; it’s perfect! My 4 year old daughter has been going on about having a giant turtle for xmas and I cannot wait for her to open this particular present on xmas day. I know she’s going to be over the moon! This turtle is exactly like on the picture on Amazon; the underneath of the shell is of a beautiful light creamy colour; it really looks like a real giant turtle. I’m very glad I purchased it, especially at such a good price, and I would highly recommend it to any turtles fans who like big teddies!
He’s lovely soft material, well sewn and much lighter than I expected, money well spent, sadly the daughter now wants other giant cuddly toys and I suspect I will end up living in the shed to make space for them all.
My son absolutely loves it! Was a little worried when one of the seams popped on the first day we received it which we sewed back up however since then its been fun and seems to be coping with the rigours of playing with my 6 year old.
Very nice quality. Bit odd buying a soft toy on the internet- as I think they all look a bit different on a shop shelf and all seem to have their own personalities. This one is slightly lobsided but it’s for a 2 year old and I’m sure she won’t notice (and yes- it’s the same size as her..!)
Purchased for my daughter after she saw the John Lewis TV Advert. Fantastic quality, superb price, it’s bigger than her and she LOVES it, thank you Amazon for excellent service and delivery, we had it in plenty of time for Christmas but couldn’t wait to give it to her so she had it immediately. It was so lovely we had to buy another one for her Grandmother who loved it too when she saw it!!
What attracted me to this model was the side and the price of the item – similar plushies can go for more than double the price (paid 30 quid), and this model really was great value for money.
The best aspect of the plush is that it’s great to hug and snuggle – there’s just enough stuffing in the top half of the tiger to make it wonderful to hug, and in my opinion, this is the best thing about the tiger.
Now onto some drawbacks. Comparative to the positives, there will be a lot of them simply because I’m pointing out all of the small aesthetic errors in this model and compared to the positives, they are small:
1. The bottom half of the tiger is smaller (and less stuffed) than the top half. This is one of the easier things that could’ve been prevented.
2. The head is plastic – not a bad thing in my eyes but be careful if you were expecting a full stuffed head.
3. Some of the sticking is visible and dodgy here and there. None that I’ve seen so far to be easy to break, but if you’re giving this to a reckless son/daughter, just be careful.
4. The tail is limp and kind of represents a long sock.
Overall, the sheer value for money for this product beats the little errors here and there. I’m not sure about others but I would pay an extra tenner or so to see these errors ironed out and a little more time spent in the stiching.
Arrived promptly and well packaged. Little disappointed that the tigers head appears to be made out of polystyrene and some white stitching is visible on the paws and ears. However overall it looks fabulous and very tiger-like and I know my 5 year old daughter will be the happiest little girl on Xmas morning when she sees it. Great overall just perhaps a little over priced.
I chose this as a reward for school. We call him the ‘Pride Penguin’! He is awarded to the class that is the smartest, tidiest and punctual each week. The children are well motivated and pupils in the winning class love having him to sit next to them during lessons. He is a good size and well made.

Looked everywhere for one of these for my little girl and when I found this I was shocked at how realistic it looks, some of the other plush lions out there look a little cartoony, and thats fine if that’s what you are looking for, but this looks really authentic. It’s pretty big as well! My three year old loves anything to do with lions, so this was ideal. She climbs all over it, cuddles it and does horsey rides on it. Seriously, if you have a child who adores lions get this!
