This mermaid has a dark tail and long dark hair which is styled in two buns either side of her head, she has a darker skin complexion and is carrying a large round bag. Her arms waist and tail bend, and her hands are removable to get off her outfits.
My 3 year old found the outfit changes fiddly but enjoyed playing with this doll.
Beautiful doll, hair looks absolutely stunninh, has few extra accessories, fun to play for my little girl.
Jordie arrives in a beautifully designed box which has a large V cut out of it with the bottom half of the tail sticking through.
The box is approx 30.5cm x 30.5cm x 8.5cm & look designed for this series of dolls to be kept & displayed in their boxes.
I have all 5 of these & they all appear to have the exact same head mould, each with different skin tones, eye colours, make up & hair.
These Mermaze Mermaidz are absolutely gorgeous but I am not really sure who they are aimed at.
Jordie is a finball player & the sporty character of the five.
She is best friends with Kishiko.
Her outfit is pretty similar to the one she wears on the show, as is her colour change tail.

Her tail has a sporty look, reminding me of tracksuit bottoms with it’s sporty stripes down the length (each doll has a very different tail fin)
From the waist down, her tail is hard, rigid plastic with the jointed tail fin meant to work as a stand when folded.
I found Jordie fairly easy to stand on her fin (seemed to work better when it was backwards & she leaned back a little rather than forward) but for display I would want to use a doll stand as they are not the most stable.
Her head is jointed to move side to side with a little movement up & down so poses beautifully.
Her eyes are really stunning – inset with individually rooted eyelashes.
Her make up is the same as on the show, including her ‘signature’ black heart under one eye, which Kishiko adds to her make up in episode 2.
Her upper body is well jointed at the waist & also just under her bust.
Her hands come off to change clothes more easily (all 5 dolls can clothes swap) & pop back on without trouble (they are slightly squishy feeling plastic).
They can be rotated at the wrist quite freely for posing or playing.
Jordie comes with her yellow cropped top, silver jacket, handbag, glasses, earrings, necklace & wristbands.
She is also jointed at the elbows & shoulders.
If dipped in water, it colour changes quite dramatically & looks fantastic..
The dolls (other than their clothes) are intended to be got wet, but their hair will need restyling after getting wet so I didn’t want to risk it as the styles they come with are really nice & I am not convinced I could do better.
The box art shows her hair going to approx knee length, it is actually almost down to where her ankles would be.
It feels like plaited embroidery silks.
You are advised to remove their clothing (they have painted on bra style tops which can get wet, different for each doll) before playing with them in water.
Her tail is hollow so you need to stand her upright on a towel to make sure she is drained properly after putting her in the water.
One thing I do dislike is that she is fixed in the box with a string that goes into her tail through her waist & it’s really difficult to get the last bits of string out.
All the dolls have this issue – I had to do a lot of wriggling her around to get rid of the visible bits.
She has pull out earrings which I wouldn’t say are suitable for smaller kids.
I think they come out a little too easily.
Taking Jordie out of her box pretty much destroys it, so if you have her for display you need to decide whether to keep her boxed or not before you open it.
I feel that these are better quality than Barbie, but the clothes are not quite as well made as Rainbow High doll clothes.
Jordies head is smaller than a Rainbow High dolls, but bigger than a Barbies in proportion to her body.
The web series etc.. seems to be definitely aimed at a younger age group, but the price & the look of the dolls feels more like it’s aimed at the collector market.
They really are so very pretty I can’t help but love them but I do wish they had a joint in their tails around knee level for extra posing possiblities.
Seems to be a bit expensive, 36 for on mermaid doll, however, my niece loves it. Good quality, fantastic design, and when chucked into the water the tail changes colour, which is ace. Good alternative for Barbie franchise. The hair can be washed with a shampoo. Good idea, well made and certainly work every penny.
Apart from being an expensive toy the packaging is not climate friendly with a large amount of clear plastic involved. It also took a good five minutes to separate the doll from the packaging by cutting all the little clips that secured it.
It is a very attractive doll with lots of hair and glamorous trendy clothes and comes with a pair of sunglasses that she can’t wear and a shoulder bag. It will stand up by folding the end of the tail and balancing it and I suspect it will spend more time on display than being played with.
Obtained for a four year old who loves mermaids the novelty lasted about five minutes before she abandoned it and went back to her sticker book.
I get it alot of craftsmanship goes into these dolls. The inset eyes and lashes are beautiful and the rooted hair is nice but still $30 is alot. Rainbow high dolls come with a 2nd outfit and cost less (well some of them) I bought this to add to my collection. My niece thinks the doll is nice and wants one so I’ll get her one but I don’t think I’ll buy another for my collection.

I was unsure on buying this as it seemed expensive for 1 mermaid doll, however I gave it ago. I am not disappointed. It is definitely true what they say about you pay for what you get. The quality is fantastic and should last a long time. The mermaid hair is lovely, not that horrible, knotty hair. You can tell the difference in quality with this and other mermaid dolls. These dolls are the slap on the face of these-days Barbies, Rainbow High dolls and all the other dolls that are produced mainstream and in unlimited editions.
For one, this doll has almost inset eyes and real eyelashes. And it, sort of, can stand leaning on its tail.
I recon the manufacturer should stop making these dolls in huge numbers. They should make the dolls limited edition, make the tails removable, make different molds for the faces (this one is cute but its charms will last only this long), add the price on, and they will sell. These dolls will sell. They are gorgeous.
Now, I am an ex-doll-collector and the one thing that gets in the way of bringing on a new doll collecting frenzy (pandemic-size) is this everlasting tail. These dolls are offered as a playline doll and they certainly have playline feature (colour-change), but being so heavily sexualised, these dolls are definitely aimed at a grown-up. And they are quite remarkable as a collector doll.
This particular 5-dolls series is quite remarkable. This face mold plays so differently in different colours. Apart from Harmonique, this face is quite different every time it comes in different colours. Each doll has quite a prominent character and the faces are quite spectacular.
This particular doll, Jordie is the most distinguishable one. It looks so different from the others, it is easy to mistake her for a totally different face. The braids are also high quality. They don’t come undone. The accessories are usual rubble, clothes are a disappointment, as usual with these dolls but they, at least, look very nice and don’t fall apart in your hands. But I honestly think the manufacturers should up it and turn it into a pure collectible. Why so?
Simple. A child who would love to play with a doll whose tail is permanently there would be aged somewhere between 3 and 5. For audience this young, this doll is too complicated/fidgety. Its hair is thick and lovely and it pulls the head to one side so it snaps back even if the child would try to rearrange it. The doll has zero educational value. Your child will lose interest almost immediately, unless they are really keen on their dolls and would be able to forgive the everlasting tail. Then, there is this grown-up aesthetics of sticking-out nipples and pouting lips. Children need room for imagination (and definitely not of that sort) – they are creating their own worlds in their play with the toys they can associate with easier. Someone’s funky clothes and flat bellies are for a grown-up shelf, not a child’s toy box. And, finally, the question of quality of the materials. I strongly suspect this plastic/vynil is not plasticine free and I doubt it is that non-toxic safe type Sylvia Natterer’s dolls and Zwergnase are using. For a child, a child doll will be not simply more appealing, it will be a healthier option (and so it will be for the planet, although, for the planet, a Rubens Barn doll and a Haba doll would have been ideal). So this doll, however gorgeous, falls short of the necessary elements to keep it a proper keepsake-worth toy for a child.
All in all, it is lightweight, it is well presented and its box is not sealed completely, where the tail is there is a hole in the plastic cover so the doll is in the open. The doll of the year, for a grown-up.
Very attractive doll. Lovely hair , really long . Mermaids that are bang up to date. The tail changes colour in hot and cold water. My granddaughter who loves her lol dolls really loves this mermaid. I can see these being very popular.

I recently received this doll from here on Amazon, & I love her! I like how her tail looks like sporty pants, and her outfit is cool too. I also like her hair. I think these cool mermaid dolls are so much better than the Barbie mermaids. These Mermaidz seem so much more grown-up & more glam compared to them. I plan to get more of these great mermaid dolls, which I highly recommend to doll and/or mermaid lovers like me.
Mermaze Mermaidz are beautiful dolls. The packaging although an interesting concept, is a bad idea. The tails, just sticking out of the box like that, can be damaged or broken. I, like everyone else, wish that MGA had taken the time to make the tails bendable and able to sit, rather than having them pose on their tails. However, I could care less about the color change. I know that another big complaint is that they don’t have legs to turn into people, THEY ARE MERMAIDS, LET THEM BE MERMAIDS!

This is my first MGA doll ( didn’t like the over sized heads and massive eyes of OMG and rainbow high dolls! mermaze mermaids are a little more in proportion!) and I am impressed, great quality facial screening amazing hair, fabulous glass eyes and inset eyelashes, well made detailed clothes . Colour change more dramatic than expected! what’s not to love? tail stand can be a bit tricky to balance but I think this is due in part to the weight of the extra long high quality hair.Barbie/Mattel should take note and up their game !!!! I have ordered another.

Finally…and this is because I don’t want to be part of these sort of “tiraera” that’s been taking place in social medias with the MH and the MM dolls…which one is better, prettier and all that…I like them both!! MH and MM dolls are cute,beautiful and special in their own way.I already have Searra and Raynea from Mermaid High and now Jordie from Mermaze Mermaidz and they sure look cute together and I hope to get more dolls from both lines in the near future.
