The only reason I took 1 star off was for removing the stiring padle.
It’s very economic to run cooks really well.

Did a lot of research and bought a 6.5L Oval aluminium slow cooker. This is (relatively) lightweight, also will take a whole chicken which in turn is apparently easy to put in and remove from the slow cooker. Not convinced about the paddle but easily dismantled (which it is at the moment). Slightly confused as to what searing is – is it the same as frying the meat briefly to seal???? I assume so but the instructions are slightly confusing. Have bought a small library of Slow Cooker Recipe Books second-hand (very good condition) from World of Books – some good recipes albeit not many for Lamb Chops so will have to concoct my own! With 6.5L capacity (really 2/3 maximum = about 4.3 litre capacity) slow cooker has to be at least half full so may have to freeze some surplus cooking – even though I live on my own I am not too worried about this even though I have a small freezer which is currently very full! Overall this looks a very good piece of equipment and very user friendly – unlike pressure cookers (which I also considered but rejected) and fancy 9-in-1 cookers that looked far too complicated for a simple soul like me (also all that stuff to store and remember what is what).

Liked this slow cooker, especially with the ability to use the main pot for seating the meats. To make the device even more versatile (e.g when I’ll be streaming my Christmas Puddings) I also bought (direct from manufacturer) a lid without the stirring slot (part no 09000) which although designed for other slow cookers in the range does fit this model perfectly.

The only tricky thing is cleaning the lid as it has cabling for the auto stirrer. Otherwise it’s excellent!

Agree with all the other positive comments. I also bought as recommended by Which though never used a slow cooker before. I now realise it’s best for cooking meat rather than veg would which had been my intention. I use a plug in timer switch to stop and start as there isn’t one integrated.

Brilliant you can use the pot for hob top searing. The stirring facility is a good addition, if a bit fiddly to implement. All in all very pleased, so light too.

This was purchased to replace my previous one which had stopped working, the metal pot cannot be used on an induction hob so I do have to pre cook in another saucepan but I assumed that before I purchased, I still haven’t found a use for the paddle which I think is rather a gimmick

This is a great buy, I went for the larger one as we are a family of 6, the inside bowl is so light in comparison to my old slow cooker ceramic dish which was incredibly heavy, I love that you can sear the meat directly in the bowl on the cooker top then transfer it into the slow cooker housing, the only thing I would say is that the bottom of the bowl is not flat so when you have it on the cooker too it doesn’t connect fully with the ring but it’s fine for what it needs to do, seating meat or browning mince and you don’t end up using lots of other dishes. It’s just a bit wobbly on the cooker, once transferred and the rest of your ingredients are added you can use the stirring blades or not, I’ve used them for curry, savoury mince stew etc and they are pretty good, they don’t move for the first 2 hours of cooking, I guess that’s to give things time to soften up a bit, then every half hour they stir for 10 minutes it’s a slow gentle stir more of a moving things around than stirring, but it’s very old and effective. If you are doing something like a gammon you simply leave out the blades, there are 3 setting low med and high, Ive not used the medium yet, but being able to pop the bowl in to the dishwasher afterward it great. I don’t really have any complaints about this appliance, I love slow cooking, the only thing that might be if with noting is that the bowl is not compatible with an induction cooker, so if you have one and wanted to sear your meat you won’t be able to in this device, I would have given it 5 out of 5 apart from the wobbly bowl on cooker top

The paddle works well and has made a difference to meat in the stews I have cooked. Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this genius product. Great value for money. The ability to use the pot to sear on hob (we’ve done onions) and then put straight in the slow cooker is fab, my fella always leaves a million things to wash up whenever he goes into the kitchen, now there’s just this!

The auto stir function makes me feel like I’m in the Weasley’s kitchen. I’ve actually spent quite a bit of time just watching and admiring it. It has two options, a 30 second pulse and a once every 30 mins (I think). There is a few mm gap between the bottom of the stirrer paddle and the pot which manages to mix everything nicely and saves on more washing up! Stirrer paddle is super easy to click on and off too.

I thought we would argue about constantly having a bulky slow cooker on the side for days waiting to be cleaned, but the actual pot itself is so slender and easy to clean, as soon as it’s emptied it’s washed out and dried, even by my domestically challenged boyfriend.

Only potential downside is that the glass lid doesn’t have a hinge to hold itself up, so you have to unclamp it and set it aside to add anything in or taste while it’s on – that’s just a personal preference though, it’s not heavy or inconvenient at all.
The lid can be a little difficult to clean as you can’t remove the top bit with the buttons on or clamps off the side which makes it a bit bulky, but just wiping down around those bits with a cloth works fine!

We’ve made soups, curry, apple pie filling, cauliflower cheese, gammon, loads! All delicious and fuss free. Just stick everything in in the morning and by evening it’s ready to serve! I think we paid 49 and got next day delivery – would definitely recommend!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCooks well, non-stick pot is good, stirrer is a good addition. Only minor irritation is that if you don’t want to use the stirrer you still have a lead attached to the lid. If a blanking plate was supplied so you could clip that in instead of the stirrer mechanism and cable, it would solve the problem.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGreat slow cooker. I’ve never used one before so wasn’t sure what to expect. I chopped, diced & sliced my ingredients, added water & spices and turned it on. I left it for quite some time & even forgot it was on. The next day I went to serve & eat and eat I did. What surprised me was how intact all the ingredients were, and how tastey they all were. Everything was cooked properly for each sperate ingredient, which again surprised me…
I will be using the slow cooker many times from this point forward. Oh yes, the mixing ladel fixed to the lid is great & is one of the reasons I forgot about it cooking… Lol… :0)

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI use this a lot for curries and stews. It is really easy to use and once you’ve got all the ingredients in there you can just leave it to do it’s work. I put it on medium setting and go out for a few hours. When I come back the stuff is cooked and ready. Just a tip for anyone who is interested – don’t put coconut milk in at the start. As I found out, cooking that stuff for a prolonged period can make it break down and what you have left is something rather unpalatable. So chuck it in for 30 minutes at the end. Hope this helps.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is the first slow cooker I’ve ever owned and used. I have cooked plenty of slow dinners in the oven before however the laborious task needing to open the oven and stir the dish is honestly a pain.

The auto stir feature on this device has made my life a lot easier. I believe the paddle which stirs the dish in side the slow cooker turns every 30mins perhaps? Whatever, it does it regularly enough to see the machine to work and return ‘X’ hours later to a perfectly slow cooked meal. Time saver!

Very happy with the machine, great value and a great product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am so pleased with this purchase as I have had so many slow cookers that have been a complete disappointment/disaster. So much so, I swore never again to buy or trust another slow cooker. I like making veggie stews and they usually stick, and burn, even though I continuously stir the stew, which defeats the object of the slow cooker. This one does not stick at all and the paddle stirs the stew so I can leave it till it is ready. It is easy to clean and looks amazing.

I have used it just for stews so far. It is so easy to use and produces good results. It is also easy to clean. The inner pan is very lightweight and you have to be careful because it does slide across the hob when you are stirring, so you would need a heatproof glove to hold it steady while you stir.

  38. MartinBinder says:

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersI bought this because it was recommended by ‘Which’ as a best-buy. So far, I have not been disappointed. The build quality is premium and robust, and the simple dial mechanism makes it super easy to use.

    Pros:
-Cleaning: The non-stick inner pan is super easy to clean. Food residue wipes off instantly, even after a full day of slow cooking.
-Usability: The inner pan is removable, so you can start cooking on the hob to brown onions/meat etc before moving it into the machine.
-The stirrer: The stirring function gives you the option to either ‘pulse’, a single stir, or ‘auto’ which mixes the contents of the slow cooker every 30 mins.
-The size: the machine doesn’t take up too much space in my cupboard

    Cons:
-The recipe book: at the back of the instruction book, there is a short recipe section. I found these to be OKAY, but have had more success in experimenting through trial and error
-Cleaning the lid: water can sometimes get trapped in the cavity at the top of the glass lid where the mixer is attached after cleaning. This isn’t a huge problem as it can be reached but it’s not as easy as the rest of the machine to clean.
-No timer: I tend to leave my slow cooker on whilst I’m at work, so the food is ready when I get home. It would be nice to have a timer so I could have the machine turn off in the event I had to work late unexpectedly.

Overall I’m very happy with my purchase; the pros easily outweigh the cons. I’d recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a slow cooker. In terms of size, I find that I generally get around 6 or 7 meals out of it, but I could probably get more out if required, so this model would work great for families. I certainly wouldn’t ever feel the need to go up to the larger size; the only way I could imagine needing so much space would be to cook for a large gathering or party.

    Review written by my wife:

I’ve never had a slow cooker and have always wanted one, hearing friends talk about how easy their food prep was with one in the kitchen. So, I was really excited to be sent this.

It is fair to say as a busy working mum I really wanted to love this slow cooker! It works brilliantly, no doubt about it. I’ve found it really easy to work out cooking times and modify if I need it to take a bit longer or slower, having the three settings (high, medium, and low) rather than just two really helps with this. It is a perfect size for what we need; suitable for feeding a family of four and still having some leftovers to freeze.

A lot of recipes encourage you not to take off the lid during cooking, so the being able to stir whatever you’re cooking with the paddle at the push of a button is a great feature — I also really like the auto setting which stirs it towards the end of cooking, which you can use if you’re out. The only thing I struggled with in terms of the paddle was that it isn’t that clear what you’re supposed to do if you’re cooking a joint of meat. Obviously, you take the paddle out, but there is still the attachment for it on the other side that ends up sticking in the meat, which I found wasn’t ideal when trying to do a whole chicken in it. It worked okay but there was no obvious way around having it poking in. I did a ‘roast’ chicken and potatoes and crisped up the potatoes under the grill at the end — the meat fell off the bone more or less.

I’ve found the cooker super easy to clean — no tough stains and the non-stick coating works brilliantly. You just have to be careful not to use metal implements with the cooking dish, which would no doubt scratch it and ruin the coating.

The biggest downside is that I’ve not been able to find a recipe yet that my family are happy with. I don’t think this is a reflection on the cooker, just my fussy family sadly. My husband thinks the meat goes too soft, my daughters haven’t enjoyed the sauces I’ve tried so far. I made an absolutely delicious lamb tagine in the cooker and was gutted when nobody but me liked it (I’ll make it for myself for the freezer next time!). I desperately want to love this cooker and find some recipes we all like because I do think it would help me massively during the week when everyone is coming and going at meal times and I’m working all day. I will persevere!!

The slow cooker arrived promptly and well packaged. With the shorter days, we have been using this a fair amount over the last few weeks and are very pleased with it. The pot itself is a good size, providing enough capacity for two people and more for the next day or freezing. Two things are very different from my previous slow cooker…. firstly I can put this on a hot plate to sear the contents and secondly (which works very well, even though the lead from the lid at first looks a bit unusual) is its ability to stir. This means I can leave a stew or curry and not worry about getting to the pot and lifting the lid to stir. We are very pleased with this slow cooker – it is certainly more functional than ones we have had before and is certainly worth considering.

I’ve never used a slow cooker before and I’m absolutely delighted with the simplicity of this. Add your chopped ingredients into the bowl, give them a stir, pop the lid, set your cooking speed and leave it. It’s perfect for stews and curries — I’ve cooked lamb navarin stew, Caribbean jerk stew and beef & butternut squash curry and been delighted with the results. When using beef, I’ve seared it in the cooking bowl on my gas hob and drained off the excess juice before adding the rest of my ingredients.

Obviously it depends on what you’re cooking and how much time you have (or don’t have!), but I find that when using the Medium setting you’re looking at about six hours for most stews and four hours on the High setting. Go easy on any stock or liquid. Once the lid is in place, there’s no way of reducing the liquid content down.

The stirring paddle is the big selling point for this slow cooker. You don’t need to use it but it does ensure for a more even cook and a better overall taste. It kicks in for 30 seconds every 30 minutes past the two hour cooking mark and it can also be manually activated at any time at the press of a button. It does have to be gently teased into place in-between the ingredients when putting the lid on which can be a bit tricky.

Non-stick, the cooking bowel is very easy to clean in warm soapy water. The instructions includes a few recipes, but there are literally hundreds to be found online. Definitely recommended if you can get it at the right price.

    Very impressive self-stirring slow cooke

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our Users…although I must admit, it is a novelty extra that I don’t find I use very much, and it is a point I would recommend considering before choosing a slow cooker from the plethora on offer out there.

I have had a few slow cookers over the years, each one a little more innovative that the last, as technology progresses.
This product is no exception, with 2 safety clips on the lid, and, a paddle is included for those recipes that need a bit of a stir during cooking. I find it a bit cumbersome & messy, when extracting it to serve.
It is easily detached, if not required.

The enclosed INSTRUCTION MANUAL includes a troubleshooting section and a fair few recipes, both ‘AUTO-STIR’ & ‘MANUAL’ to get you started.
It also advises NOT using the optional stirring paddle for:

‘recipes that contain large ingredients, e.g. joint of meat, chicken portions, spare ribs etc.’

Also, on the negative side for me, the aluminium cooking pot is quite lightweight and can move around easily on my ceramic hob, so I need to use an oven glove to steady it, if using it to saut or sear.

A couple of other notes also from the enclosed, straightforward INSTRUCTION MANUAL in English only (words & pictures) that, I think, are worth mentioning at this stage:

‘The cooking pot is not suitable for use on an induction hob.’
‘The STIRRING PADDLE & LID are NOT dishwasher safe.’ (1st image below refers).

There is also a note reminding to use wooden or silicone utensils with the cooking pot, so as not to damage the non-stick coating.

Golden Review Award: 111 From Our UsersI’m very impressed with this product.

I’ve used a slow cooker for years and now I can’t imagine why no-one has thought of a self-stirring one before! It’s genius! I’ve always worried that lifting the lid will let the heat out but now there is no reason to touch it unless you are adding ingredients. The seal on the lid is much better now too due to a rubber panel around the glass and handles to clip to the bowl.
They have not only improved this issue, the bowl is now incredibly light (unlike the heavy ceramic one I have in the cupboard) and you can even cook onions/sear meat on your electric or gas hob before leaving your dish to cook. It’s also nice and easy to clean which is a bonus.

The stirrer is easy to set up, and has an automatic function which turns every half an hour or a manual button if you would rather see how it’s going before giving it a stir. Obviously the paddle will not work with joints of meat, but you don’t have to attach it. To attach and detach, you simply push on and pull off once it has cooled down.

The only tiny gripe I have with the paddle is that where it is quite wide you have to move your ingredients out the way to let it in. I have learnt my lesson and think I will try and put it in the bowl before adding all of my ingredients next time.

Within the manual is a nice little recipe book which I thought was a nice touch. This contains main meals, sauces and puddings to create with your slow cooker. I have made a casserole but I’m looking forward to trying the rice pudding recipe.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is a classy looking slow cooker with so many “extras” that are a great improvement on the slow cookers which I have previously used. The actual cooking pot is made of lightweight aluminium, and I love this! It means you can put it on a hob to sear or saute (not on an induction hob though–and I used a heat diffusing pad on my electric hob just to be careful,– and you should use only wood or plastic utensils) and then add all other ingredients. No extra frying pan to wash up and the pot itself is completely non-stick.
My previous slow cooker had a ceramic pot which was heavy even when empty, and almost impossible for this old gal to lift when it was full. It was also more difficult to wash up due to its weight and a line of sticky residue around the inside. Morphy Richards have introduced a stirring function which prevents food sticking to the pot in suitable recipes. Not for use when cooking a joint of meat! You can use this stirring paddle manually by pressing a pulse button or use the auto function. This kicks in after 2 hours cooking and then stirs and blends every 30 mins.
Previously, the cooking time has been considerably extended when I have removed lids and stirred, so this feature saves time and money. I love the rubber seal around the lid, which prevents all steam escaping. I have had to add extra liquid to dishes in the past as the lids did not fit so tightly, and I think if I had left my old slow cooker unattended, the food would have got too dry. This lovely model can be left for up to 10 hours on the low setting and nothing will evaporate. You can reduce the liquid content at the end of cooking by turning the heat to High and simmering with the lid off.
The lid clips also fold up together to act as handles for the lid: another great idea which prevents burned fingers and makes handling much easier. Apparently the lid is dishwasher proof once the stirring unit has been disconnected, but I will hand wash mine to preserve the rubber seal. The pot and paddle can be put in a dishwasher, but obviously not the electrical parts.
The booklet which comes with this slow cooker has comprehensive advice on safety, clear instructions as to usage and care of the slow cooker, and some starter recipes from boiled ham joints to rice pudding.
Morphy Richards are a dependable company and this is a good-looking quality item which comes with a 2 year guarantee if you register it. After sales service and advice can be accessed through social media sites or by phoning a Helpline,–details in the booklet.
A brilliant product which makes cooking easier and more economical.

We have a slow cooker which we use a lot. Especially in the colder months when slow cooked stews and curries are more appealing than during summer’s salad days. I obtained this Morphy Richards pot because I liked the fact that it has a metal inner pan which you can put direct onto a gas or electric ring to sear meat before using it in a slow cooked meal.
Our current slow cooker has a ceramic pot.
Its not the biggest slow cooker unit in the world. At 3.5 litres you can certainly make a meal for perhaps four or five people but no more. However, we normally just make a meal for two which lasts us a couple of days. The Morphy Richards model is easy to use and practical. Just prepare the meal in the morning.Leave it on the appropriate setting and when you get home from work or a day out, you have a piping hot meal waiting for you!

Personally, I love slow cooked meals as a slow cooker really brings out the best in stews and curries.

This is by miles the best slow cooker I’ve ever had, or even seen. I don’t know why no one has thought to put a stirrer in a slow cooker before but it is such a good idea. Sometimes when I use my slowcooker the sauce can be a bit inconsistent, thicker on the bottom and sides but more watery on the top and middle but this takes care of that.

Aside from the stirrer though it is just a really good unit! It heats up really fast, the three heat settings are exactly what you would expect them to be. The crock pot is a metal material a bit teflon like, nothing sticks to it and it’s really easy to clean. Also it’s really light, so if you’re taking the crock pot out and popping it straight on the table it’s really easy.

    No negatives, just really good!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first slow cooker and so I don’t have any comparisons to make, however I have been wanting one for a while and I’m impressed so far with what I’ve made.

Design wise, this is reasonably compact, it’s definitely more neat than I expected. The design is well thought out with a removable inner that serves both as the vessel for your slow cooking but can also be put onto the hob to sear anything prior to slow cooking. The outer walls definitely get hotter the longer the cooker has been on but the handles are amply large enough to let you move it around while it’s hot. The controls are very easy with low, medium and high, although I cannot understand why the dial is in this order – high, low, medium. I’ll need to look carefully at which I’ll pick. I found it very easy and quick to clean. I haven’t used a recipe with the stirring paddle yet but I will as this is super easy to have in or out and to operate.

So far, I’ve used it for dump receipes (no pre-cooking or searing of meat required) because I really am after the ease of this approach and they have all worked out well. I’m impressed that the sauce/liquid doesn’t boil down to nothing. I’ve also used it for a slow roast which worked out well.

It comes with instructions and a very small amount of recipes to try, however you can find plenty of recipes on the internet for free.

Overall, I am very impressed and as a novice slow cook, I have found it easy to use.

What I am most excited about this Cooker is the ‘Sear’ function as that is what is missing from our more expensive Slow Cookers. It is not as complex as some cookers, just 3 heat settings so really easy to use. The automatic stirring function is a godsend, really making life easier.

It is very easy to clean. It is light yet feels well made.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe first thing i noticed about this is how light it was. I already have a slow cooker and it is a solid lump of kit.

Upon opening the box I will admit the lid with built in stirrer did look a bit strange, but overall the cooker looked pretty good. The auto-stir was a huge plus though as means no hanging round in the kitchen.

It was a small 3.5l pot but big enough to cook for 2 adults and 2 children – and the fact you can use the pot on the range means less messing with different pans.

We only made a chicken soup but set it on low and left it to cook and stir itself, returning to it cooked perfectly without spending hours in a hot kitchen.

Looking forward to using it a lot more as the days get shorter. Can see it being used a lot in my kitchen!

I have been a slow cooker fan for years – I thought they all did the same job but this is brilliant as it stirs itself and it sears the meat before cooking so no need to prefry!!!

I got the 3.5 litre model which is ideal for me as I as I live alone – it is also a lot lighter than my previous slow cooker!

It does exactly what I wanted – it preheats quickly to sear meat before cooking – then you can add everything else and leave it to stir itself ever 30 minutes! It is perfect for stews, curries ect as it stops it getting burnt on the sides of the pot – no more scrubbing!

It is easy to keep clean and as I said a lot lighter than the standard slow cooker but it does the same job! I love it!

I’ve been using slow cookers for years but when I came across this I was just amazed!
This particular version is 3.5 litres, so suitable for 2-4 people in my opinion, it feeds me, my very hungry husband and two children just fine.
The best part for me about this product is the fact that you can use the inner pan on the stove- so you can sear/brown/cook meat/onions etc first before adding the rest of the ingredients and allowing to slow cook. Great invention which saves time and washing up. The inner pan is surprisingly light which is a big help for me as I store my slow cooker up high on top of my cupboards.

The second amazing feature is that fact that it self stirs. It stirs every half an hour which is great, with my old slow cooker I would have to remember to stir it from time to time, sometimes I would get there too late and food would be sticking to the bottom, and having to open the lid means loss of heat so even longer cooking time.

It is easy to clean and has the usual cook options- low, medium, high.
Absolutely over the moon with this item.

This is an excellent slow cooker. The design is brilliant meaning I no longer have to wash up multiple pans.
It’s much lighter than over slow cookers which is great as I’m disabled and struggle with heavy pots. Searing over a normal hob whilst still in the pan is a great idea. I made diced lamb in a root vegetable broth. It was so tender and the storing function is fantastic as didn’t have to keep doing it by hand.
This is a great piece of kit.

I am reviewing the 3.5L of Slow Cooker and this is perfect for 2 – 4 people.
I have had a slow cooker for so many years and it is used on a regular basis. It is heavy and bulky as it has a ceramic base. This Morphy Richards one is so much lighter and far more practical in so many ways.
Firstly there is the metal cooking pot, this has a nonstick coating and due to the material, you can actually use it on the top of your cooker for sealing meat prior to cooking. It worked well on a low flame on my gas cooker. It also means it is a lot lighter in weight and easier to wash.
Then there is the paddle, this is such a simple yet brilliant idea, having a pot that stirs itself means the heat remains inside the pot at all times instead of escaping when I used to have to do it manually.
There is a separate motor for the paddle and lid section, and it is a simple press together process and a plug that connects to a socket on the base unit. I like the design of the lid, it has a rubber seal that helps the lid to slot into place and two clips that hold it where it should be.
My first recipe to try from the booklet that came with the cooker was rice pudding. I was a bit dubious about leaving it to do its own thing, but I did. I came back to a lovely pudding that had not stuck.
Next up was a beef casserole, I prepared this and then left it to cook while I went to work. Came home to a casserole that was well cooked and again nothing stuck.

This is a product I would definitely recommend and is a wonderful replacement for my rather old and outdated model. It’s sleek silver and black surfaces make it easy to clean and look good in any kitchen.

I haven’t used the stirring gadget yet.
So, as a slow cooker, it’s like every other one I have owned. Morphy Richards quality is always good.
This is no exception. Simple heat control and clear lid and crockpot – all the usual.
I’ve done some jacket potatoes in it and they cooked perfectly. Lovely and soft potato.
I’m not sure how they have arrived at this price tag of around the fifty quid point. It seems overpriced to me.
I assume the inflated price is because it has a stirring attachment for stews.
Not really worth the extra cost.
I probably won’t use the stirrer so the gimmick is lost on me, really.

Light weight. Ideal for 2 or caravan (3.5L).
Easy assembly. (Pen In pot for reference to pot size)
Easy assembly and cleaning. Inner pot is similar to a mid price range oven tray so felt safe using it on an electric hob. NOT FOR INDUCTION HOBS.
Browned onions and herbs nicely (veggie meal not used on meat yet) stir function best for soups and stews and can be used on auto stir or once in a while. Nice to have a medium setting. Lid has a soft rubber seal and clamps are easy to manage but seem robust enough.
The only negative is the power cord for the stir function it could have been more elegantly designed as it sticks out and slightly spoils the overall look. Heats well and cleans nicely. Instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Worked well in job with low cal spray instead of oil. Reduce liquid in standard recipes to avoid watery results.
The biggest thing to get my head round was how light the inner pot was compared to the traditional ceramic pot. Initially wary but can see the benefits- especially for people with reduced grip or strength.

    Lightweight inner bowl is grea

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great little slow cooker!

Clever design flourishes go a long way with me, I particularly liked the rubber gasket seal around the lid, and how the stirring unit’s clamps press the seal down onto the lower pot. So less mess and less evaporation.

It heats up quickly too; controlled via three high, low, and medium heat settings, as typically found on slow pot cookers.

The main show-stealer here though is the self-stirring unit. Easily assembled, and disassembled for cleaning purposes, it plugs into the lower half of the pot in seconds. it has an automatic stir function, thus stopping food catching on the bowl (something my old Crockpot did all the time) and mixing flavours throughout – essential for a good Chilli con carne. It also a pulse function allowing you to stir on demand for fifteen seconds.

The bowl itself is a non-stick pressed steel pan. Now whether this is an improvement or a downgrade over an earthenware style bowl is something only time will tell. Experience tells me nothing non-stick lasts forever, but that said, if you drop it, it’ll still be in one piece.

Overall, and considering the very reasonable asking price, I think this is a great little device – especially for anyone like me who doesn’t have the time to spare for cooking every evening.

All I need to do now is find a home for my old Crockpot!

Out with the old Crockpot, in with the new Morphy Richards……
