Fitted to AMD 3600, reduced my max temp under high load by about 20 to nearly 30. Idle temps are about 31c. fitting wasn’t that bad, and the handy supplied screwdriver came in handy. Very pleased so far, it is quiet, cools well and has a six-year guarantee so you can’t go wrong really. The supplied fitting kit is comprehensive and has fittings for an extra fan if you want to fit one.

I have a Noctua NH-D15 in another case that I use as a workstation. When I was building a Ryzen x570 with a 3700x system I wanted to install something that was more manageable and was more sturdy (I had to ship the end result).

    Heat and noise

I was concerned that the end result might be louder, but it ended up working rather well. I settled on a slightly higher idle temperature of 45-50c for the CPU to keep the fans from revving up and down. In the end the issues I had with my build were not with the CPU but rather with the south bridge of the x570 instead.

    Clearance

I had no issue with clearance with the board and ram.

    Sturdiness

There was no damage to the heat sink. I shipped with fedex in a double box in a fractal define C case.

The most dense heatsink you can get before Noctua NH-D15

The only difficult part was securing the back plate and then the rest placed all the pieces in place. I previously used the 3600 stock cooler which ran hot (Idle 45 Celsius to over 80 Celsius) and made this annoying howling noise. Once after the new Noctua cooler installation, the temperatures never reach 70 and idle below 35. Most important of all, i cannot hear the CPU cooler at all but other components such as GPU and case fans (Planning getting Noctua A12 and A14 in the future). If you want a great company who makes CPU coolers, then Noctua is that company. Pricey compared to other competitors which are great as well but if you want a cooler that will last and never lets you down then Noctua will be my choice.

Performs well, very quiet. I bought this to replace an AIO that I wasn’t impressed with. I bought this specific model because I have very tall ram (Corsair Vengeance RGB) and a large case, but unfortunately this blocks my top PCI-e slot on a Gigabyte Z390 Designare.

I had a 240mm aio from master cooler, then I decide to give a shot. I drop my cpu temp for about 5-8c.

What can I say, got this to replace the Wraith Prism that came with the 2700x.
It was keeping the temps in check, but the noise of the thing ramping up and down was driving me up the wall.
It was so easy to install, clear plain instructions.
Went the whole hog and used N2 paste instead of the N1 supplied with the cooler.
Nice and snug fit in my Meshify C Mini.
The difference in noise levels are a world apart, wish ide done it sooner.
Temp at idle sit between 31 and 38, gaming 49 to 55.
Excellent product, solid and well made, a breeze to install.

Fan tastic (yes I did that)

I’ve owned these before, and in my recent build thought that the stock AMD Wraith cooler for my 3800x would do. Well I was wrong, and I now make a pledge to always buy these with any builds from this day forward.

Cooled my AMD processer very well for 6 years, inaudible compared to the horrendous stock cooler – and no doubt would continue to do so for many years but I am building a new PC. Installation of cpu air coolers is all basically the same it’s not any more or less difficult that any other.

The only thing I would say is I wish Noctua would have colour options – the brown and beige is.. awful, would like just a plain black version – although I won’t mark it down for that because you can see how ugly it is from the pictures so won’t come as a surprise. Subjective of course, I’m sure my granddad would find it very appealing.

Does what it needs to do without any fuss, or most importantly for me, without any noise. Top notch quality.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am proud to say I’ll never have to worry about overheating or CPU burnouts EVER again due to Noctua’s fantastic products. The big 140mm fan runs at around 780RPM idle/1030RPM under load and is super quiet without using the L.N.A. Adapter plus it doesn’t have that annoying fan flutter in other aftermarket fans.

Running a safe 4.0Ghz OC and my temps never exceed over 37C idle/61C under constant gaming load for hours on end which is better than my Evo 212 which would go up to a whopping 71C only after ~1 hour of gaming.

TIPS: I would recommend connecting the fan connector to the motherboard BEFORE mounting onto your CPU if you’re leaving it in the case, it’s a tight fit but clears all RAM/DIMM slots with ease.

Overall: This is probably the best single fan cooler on the market and matches up with liquid coolers fairly well so why spend extra when you can get the NH-U14S?

The reason why this cooler only got 4 stars is that the mounting metal plates are quite thin compared to all my previous air coolers such as: Prolimatech Megahalems Black or the Thermalright series. Another issue is the cooler has a very sharp finish, if you holding the fins with bare hand you can feel you will can a cut easily. Advise users to wear hand protection especially holding the fins.

Performance wise is similar to them, definitely don’t have to worry about any AIO leaking issues. Currently running it on AMD ryzen 1700 stock at idle under 30C with ambient 22-23C, haven’t see any temperature above 41C running an Corona 1.3 benchmark.

While this is a great cooling option for sure, make sure you take note that it’s massive. I use it for my micro atx motherboard in a micro atx case and it bearly fits. In fact i decided to upgrade my case to atx. Keep in mind the fan orientation my have to changed to fit it in a micro atx case. Which barely fits by the way. This may not always be the case, (no pun intended). Also note that changing the fan orientation just to fit it in may cause it to make more noise. Overall though it’s a fantastic option for my gaming machine, atx case HIGHLY recommended.

I got fed up with dealing with a water cooling unit. and so i switched to a smaller tower chassis and needed something to cool it. after a lot of thought i decided it would fit. i measured wrong but hey it was no big deal, the cooler was abotu 1/8th inch too tall for my front panel but a couple small dents with a drift pin fixed that. I imagine this wont be everybodys dilemma just measure twice before you decide to get a big cooler.

Anyways enough backstory. i purchased this and 3 noctua 120mm fans to go along with the cooler and boy does the computer i stuffed it all into run silent and very cool in comparison to past builds. I highly reccomend these guys. their design and packaging is top notch and so is their performance. 45 stars for sure i just wish this thing was a few mm shorter.

Very quiet, the fan is inaudible up to c. 800 RPM, but if serious cooling is needed, for e.g. where the CPU spends long periods at 100% such as with video rendering, with the fan at a moderately high speed (c. 1000-1200 RPM) it can dispose of a lot of heat.

The best feature is the mounting system – not much remarked on is that as well as being very easy to install the tower can then also be removed just as easily without disturbing back-plate hardware (hence no need to get to the back of the motherboard), an absolute boon.

Ibuypower Trace 941 works with. Just a finger with of room between card and fan so got lucky. I recently switched to air cooled rather then liquid. I had an air pocket happen in mine and cause a leak. So I bought another liquid cooled cpu and realized it wouldnt work. Found this Its super freakin quiet. However installing is a bit of a bitch installing. I got the right mounting equipment that wasnt the problem. The problem was the mounting of the fan itself or what ever it is the hunk of metal. It was a pain in the ass to get to mount on the screws. If it wasnt for that I would of given it 5. They need to make the braket that holds the fan on the cpu a little bit longer to be able to mount easier. The rest of the kit was a breeze but that mounting is what took the longest. You get Cooling paste which is cool already had some. So far Great product. Fans are really really quiet.

install was pretty easy, just a hassle to get your hands around the heatsink in order to install the mounting screws and to fasten the fan clips onto the heatsink but all in all, a pretty easy setup. You have to go into the BIOS to setup the fan speed since I assumed it would be set on auto since when I started it up, it said the cpu fan was only going at a measly 400 rpm, so now it’s running the full 1500 rpm. I might later on add a second fan which they’ve given you extra vibration mounts for a second one as well as mounting clips for the fan.

I had to mount it vertically because of my motherboard as it would not have cleared the gpu

    awesome coole

he cooler mounting was fairly easy but the performance is more than worth it. on my ryzen 5 3600 at 4.2 ghz max load it runs at about high 60s to very low 70s. its quiet even without the low rpm adapter and is a very capable air cooler. i also noticed the frequency being more stable with this coole

So I got this Noctua NH-U14S Cooler cause I was afraid the monstruous Noctua NH-D15 would get over my RAM on the MB.

This CPU cooler is incredible. Keeps my overclocked (5100Mhz) Intel Core i7-9700K at 30C at idle and at approx 60C under stress in the most demanding games.

Easy to install and extremely silent.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Noctua is very high quality, as it needs to be for the price, and crucially it was easy to fit and the mounting system is extremely secure. It uses the stock AM4 backplate on a Ryzen system. It is both near silent, and effective, keeping the processor in the low 50’s under full load on all cores which means some headroom for overclocking, or you can slow the fan right down for total silence. It doesn’t interfere with memory in my case, but tall RAM could be an issue if using all slots on some boards. Noctua has excellent compatibility charts on their site though, so you can check in advance if something is going to be a problem. The fan is brown – deal with it, personally I don’t mind, but they have made a black version now for those that can’t stand the standard colours.

Great build quality and even better cooling. I’ve used on a Gigabyte Aorus Pro motherboard cooling my i5 9600k, when gaming I’m getting around 50 degrees on the CPU, very pleased. Only using the one fan too. The case I’ve used is the Coolermaster H500 (no suffix) and it has about a 2/3mm clearance from the side panel so you won’t want a case any smaller. 10/10

The hype is true… just get it

Had a corsair H100i, but it was just WAY too loud in performance mode.

the Noctua NH-U14S Performs around 3c of my H100 with 20% of the noise on a mild overclocked 4790K @ 4.6. Plus, I dont have this potentially crippling point of failure in my system keeping me up at night.

Dont worry about it throwing off your color scheme. In person, I think the cooler looks a lot better than in pics. I think most would agree with me. it’ll look good, trust me. I was pleased with the aesthetic of the cooler.

    I’d recomend this to anyone.

only con is, the stand offs need to be color coated in the manual to display different sizes. The setup is about as easy as it gets for a tower cooler, you’ll have to push down a little to get the screws started when installing the actual tower to the CPU, but that’s every tower.

    Recommend this to anyone.

ALL HAIL THE BEIGE AND BROWN!

Unfortunately the fan provided Is brown This caused me to purchase another product which is the main cause of the temps being so low. This product is known as The chromax black swap. It’s unbelievable a $75 upgrade can make your computer this much better but wow, do I wish I did this 4 years ago. I have a powerful computer for video editing. When it was built I felt the water cooling system installed (which was a “good” cooler) was necessary to keep up with the temps. I thought that all state of the art top computers were water cooled. Boy, was I wrong. That water cooler had the loudest fans. I’m talking LOUD. When my PC was on the fans were as loud as the air window conditioner in the room. After this 30 minute upgrade the same exact system can’t even be heard. Literally, I can’t hear it. It’s unbelievable. Do yourself a favor for peace in your office. Install this if your case can hold it and it matches your motherboard. Library quiet.

I’ve been using Zalman for my last few builds and they are solid choices. This Noctua is just a little better. It is not as flashy, but I’ll take function over looks any day.

You can run your non-OC system at full throttle and stay out of the danger zone. Extrapolating out my results and you could do a mild OC and still be okay. If going for “it” in an OC configuration, use one of the larger Noctua models or move to a larger AIO fluid coolers.

Going forward, I’m switching to Noctua. They are more quiet and cooling is just that little bit better.

Note: Noctua flubbed up shipping my first one. Evidently they messed up on their available inventory and shipping would have taken 9 days for Prime 2 Day shipping. Ordered a second one and was able to get it before my first order.

No way it was going to out cool my aio ( 120mm kraken) installed today and my god, it’s quiet, my idle temps with the aio were 41 and at load 60 65 ish. The 140mm noctua with just one fan has it sitting at 30 idle and 46 at load while gaming . They just earned a noctua fan for life .

I decided to build a new gaming computer. For the last 10 days I have used an x570 ITX motherboard and a ryzen 3700x. I love the way the wraith prism cooler looks; however, it is very loud in my opinion and was only decent at cooling. I read many reviews and decided to spend some money on a better cooler. I bought the noctua. It made a huge difference. My ITX build is completely silent, even while gaming. I know the new motherboards and ryzen cpu’s will need updates, and maybe the wraith prism with the right settings will cool properly and quiet; however, I was unable to achieve that while tinkering with settings. The noctua right out of the box was easier to install, quieter, and cooler by about 15c. Anyways, if you are trying to decided if this is worth it, it definitely is in my opinion! Just make sure it will fit your case. I have an ITX Riotoro CR280 and I had to make some modification to get it to fit. I like these fans so much I have ordered replacement fans for the case as well.

I have long been an advocate of the Noctua dual-tower coolers, using them on all my AMD and Intel systems. My mindset was that they must be better than any single tower cooler. I was unwilling to even try a single tower cooler for years. But…….now I have tried this, I am solidly converted.

This cooler gives roughly the same performance (margin of error stuff) to the dual towers, is so much easier to install, doesn’t block RAM or PCIE slots, doesn’t block the view of the pretty motherboard underneath, and is cheaper.

I love it. I have bought three to date, and will probably buy more. I use one on a delidded i7 8700K @4.9Ghz and temps don’t go over 80 degrees during AVX stress testing, and stay in the 50-65 range whilst gaming. I also have one on a Ryzen 2700X which is used 24/7 for video trancoding, so is locked at 4Ghz and undervolted, this stays at 65 degrees.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLooks great. Much heavier than I expected. Haven’t gotten all the parts for my build yet, so I cant judge performance, but I bought this one specifically for RAM clearance and i9-9900K. comes right up to the ram slots and gives just enough space for RAM. One of the fins on the edges were a bit bent, but you should expect that with the shipping and it shouldn’t affect performance much.

EDIT: Fan is quiet, keeps the cpu cool. I didn’t think I’d like how it looked as much, but it works great with my Corsair 750D build. If I’d change anything about this, it would be a faster fan that looks the same as the original. Keeps my CPU around 29-34 Degrees Celsius on idle, and goes up to 58 during game play. Glad I went with this over any other cooler. I feel like the NH-D15 would be a bit too much for a regular case.

EDIT 2: Still a great cooler, but fan started failing on me. Purchased on June 16, 2019, and started making weird noises yesterday (August 5, 2019). Today, I looked over and noticed the fan completely stopped… Started up a few seconds later and turned on and off… Return period ended and now have to wait for RMA. Great cooler, 5/5 still, but not happy with the fan failing.

Bought for overclocking purposes. Got my 3.3 GHz CPU as high as 4.6 GHz with the voltage well above manufacture specifications before it became unstable, though not because of overheating. Through all the stress tests I put it through, the temperature only exceeded 50 a couple times. If anyone’s curious, it’s an AMD FX-8320E. This cooler might be better utilized for overclocking something a little higher powered.

I was concerned about space as I already have an AIO for my GPU and I didn’t want to buy a new case. So, I had seen reviews that this CPU cooler would work for the i7-9700k. At stock speeds, my CPU doesn’t climb above 75C (usually 60s C when gaming, with a few momentary spikes to 75C); when I go into BIOS and set it so that all cores hit the max speed of 4.9ghz, the max temp climbs to about 85C. I’m using the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut with this setup. I’m comfortable with the temps at stock speeds, I did some benchmarking and the FPS didn’t improve all that much with the all cores at max turbo setting, so I set it back to default speeds and am very happy with the temps. I think when it comes time to overclock I’ll be looking into something that can keep temps below 80C or messing with voltage a bit, however there are folks out there that are comfortable with 85C as a max temp on the CPU, so depending on comfort level, this would work for slight overclocking as well.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI used an H100i v2 for a build I did back in May of 2018 (i7 8700K on an Asus Prime Z370-A) and it was great…for less than a year. The pump failed and the temps were out of control (90C plus under load). I went with the U14s instead of the D15s simply for clearance purposes, and my god was I blown away by the craftsmanship and the packaging of this thing. It’s built like a tank, and it’s super easy to install. The mounting hardware itself is also a masterclass in how to create strong and reliable pieces for use in a heavy duty product. Took all of 15 minutes to install, with clear and simple instructions.

Temps are as good or better than my H100i V2 even overclocked to 4.8 GHZ on all cores, I never see higher than 64-65C. Stop wondering, stop looking for reviews and just buy it. You are truly getting the best of the best made by a company who has built a reputation for extremely reliable and excellent products. The included fan is backed up by a SIX YEAR WARRANTY, and Noctua is also known for sending out free mounting hardware for new socket designs that get released.

I will never go back to water cooling, and I’m left wondering why I bothered with it in the first place. Noctua just earned another lifelong customer.

You want the best? You're getting the best. Noctua.

Effective, quiet CPU cooler that was, for the most part, easy to install. The only glitch came trying to use the supplied philips screwdriver. I couldn’t get sufficient torque and ended up using my own…..not a big deal at all. The NH-U14S is a quality product and does the job well.

This thing is very quiet. Runs a low fan speed when it’s not needed and still runs quietly on max RPM. I have Corsair Vengeance RAM and the unit indeed does clear the first DIMM slot without issues. I did look up the measurements before hand though. Install was a breeze – a lot easier than the Cooler Master 212 Evo. Install took about 30 minutes while the Evo took me about 2 hours (annoying mounting system). Currently have my intel i5 4690k OC’d to 4.2 GHz on 1.2V. OCCT on max load gets the CPU up to 69-71C meaning I could add a 2nd fan and push it to 4.4-4.5 without issues. This fan certainly does the job.

Make sure you have the room in your case!! Don’t be one of those people who complain it’s bends the case. This thing is 140mm. I underestimated the actual size of this thing vertically. Please do measurements!

I have done a research and Linus made a video for a Overclocked Threadripper did better by 3 degrees against Corsair H115i, I can say these 2 cpu coolers perform same but Corsair H115i is 100 pounds and NH-U14S is a 50 pounds? Thats my argument. I use NH-U14S Noctua for i7 8700k for best cooling. Cpu not overclocked. Idle 30-35 medium load 55 celsius and at 60-70% load I get 65 around celsius. The quality is superb, I have used noctua heatsinks previously, always a pleasure to install it so crisp and perfect , sits in place perfectly, I am happy its not overpriced for a quality and performance. also its so quiet! Its been running daily for a year now.

I am completely blown away! I always thought there was a lot hype with Noctua. Boy was I wrong! The last two coolers i had were Corsair AIO coolers. Both had pumps that failed. I think the 1st one I had was H100 and the second was H75. On the H100 also had a leak. Fortunately I was moving and noticed the liquid in the case before I powered it up. I’m done with cheap AIO coolers! Not only does the Noctua cool a lot better but its also a lot quieter! The quality of radiator and fan is excellent. It has one best mounting system Ive seen yet. It was really easy with my Ryzen 2700x. Prime95 for about 20 minutes I noticed temps dropped about 10 degrees compared to H75. Ambient temps were the same. I always write my results down. I am very impressed with this product and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I had a AMD 8350 8 Core processor that was running very hot. I was getting frequent PC shutdowns and lockups from the excessive heat. After replacing the CPU and installing this cooling system, my CPU temperatures are 30 degrees Celsius lower and my temperature monitoring apps all indicate that my CPU is running much cooler than it had been . So it does the job that it promises to do. The system is LARGE and the cover for my case won’t fit back on but I hadn’t kept my cover on my PC for years. But it was simple to install with the instructions provided for someone who is tech savvy. If your case is wide or you don’t mind leaving the cover off and you have a problem with an overheating CPU, this may the solution you want to try. It worked for me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGiven their obsession for detail, Noctua should probably hire an Italian designer or something, because this fan is easily the worst-looking computer component I have ever seen. The colour combination is kind of pukey.

However, for me this is the best CPU fan yet. Running at 30%, it is inaudible and keeps my i7 8700k @4.8 GHz below 35 C while browsing and watching videos. When the system is under heavy load my CPU never passes 75 C and while this fan runs at full speed, the noise it makes is negligible when compared to the case fans noise and the damn coil whine.

Definitely a buy, unless you’re into competitive PC modding and you have to show off how your build looks since that is part of the final mark.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI actually managed 4.7ghz overclock on my i5 4670k and running the usual games for hours on end it was fine.. The temps was fine even at the full speed without the quiet adaptor its audible but not annoyingly loud this is in a case without the side on it. Its quiet so quiet compared to a reference cooler. If your unsure about going with water cooling go with this.

ONE NOTE THAT NO REVIEWERS HAVE SAID IN THEIR YOUTUBE VIDEOS, IT COMES WITH AN X PLATE AND REQUIRES PUTTING ON THE BACK OF YOUR MOTHERBOARD!!
Instructions seem simple enough. Maybe a little confusion for a moment thinking its not going to sit right but it does look at the picture and that. I have the fan facing towards the ram because it pulls air onto the heatsink which then goes out the back of the case where the exhaust fan is at.

Honestly the stuff you get in the box and the quality. It also looks better in person i will recommend this everybody it is an absolute beauty and a beast. Very quiet very high quality. Once you go noctua you don’t go back. Ignore your hate for the color scheme when you buy it, it doesn’t look too bad. It may stick out if your all nit picky about colour schemes but nothing will serve you as good as a noctua.

Another note the U14s i think stands for 140mm this is the one 140 and the U12 will probably be 120mm this is the fan size. The 140 will generally give you slightly lower temps and/or less noise due to the amount of air it shifts.

It is a little on the big side check if you have room or just go without the side panel on the case like i did. Its not like its a bother.

Noctua NH-U14S: I recently purchased this after watching several Youtube reviews and reading reviews online for what must have been two weekend’s worth. Ultimately, I didn’t like the colour scheme of the attached fan, and I wasn’t sure if this smaller profile version would be sufficient for gaming performance. I didn’t want to buy the huge dual-fins version as it looked ridiculous in the photos I saw. Well after reading/watching several reviews I discovered that this unit outperforms the Dark Rock Pro 3 (which looks fantastic) and it’s significantly smaller, weighs a lot less and is MUCH easier to install than the DRP3 according to the builds I watched online. So I bought this, and the ‘Chromax’ (black) fan replacement (NF A15) to replace the awful brown & beige fan that comes with it (which is now sitting in a box gathering dust). I have a tempered glass setup, so the brown fan had to go. I also bought the AMD4 additional package needed to attach this to my new Ryzen 1600x CPU. I think it’s terrible it didn’t come with this as standard, but luckily enough people complained online that I knew it had to be ordered separately. This came out before the Ryzens I think, hence the problem, but great that they released an add-on to make it work, so no points lost there NOCTUA! Overall then it was quite pricey after all the addons, but worth the additional money to have such an easy-to-install and great looking final product. I haven’t had a chance to overclock my CPU yet, but during relatively strenuous gaming my CPU sits under 40 degrees C, and under idle at 20 degrees C. I insist on great airflow in my case, so this probably helps too. I love that I have full access to my RAM with this cooler installed (I moved the fan to the back in a ‘pull’ configuration), and I love that the fan size is so large it cools all the surrounding components too. The fan is quiet, and the motherboard mounting is not only easy but also very firm. I don’t like the fan clip attachment method, it’s just a little too flimsy, but it works, and the fan is very easy to remove and replace. The thermal paste that comes with it is decent quality and generous in quantity, you could probably swap the cooler 5+ times before needing replacement. The cooler sits quite high overall, so be careful to check your case can support it. Otherwise, it looks great from the top through my clear tempered glass side on my case. A great CPU cooler overall and I highly recommend it. NOCTUA – please release an updated version of this with a ‘Chromax’ fan and AMD4 bracket as standard, that would be amazing!

I messed up when buying this by not checking if my motherboard was compatible since it’s a bit old. Fortunately it was but I had to rotate the cooler so its pointing upwards and it looks kinda silly. I can’t fault the product for my own doings though.

Despite this it still cools my cpu a lot better than my old hyper 212 did. Keeps it around 60c under full load which I was super impressed with!

It’s incredibly silent you won’t hear a sound from it. It will keep your cpu incredibly cool and the fan hardly looks like it’s spinning!

On top of that it’s incredibly easy to install. I’ve always hated installing coolers but thanks to the very easy to understand instructions it only took a few minutes to install.

Also without even having to pay extra after the purchase I received an email from Noctua telling me I had a 6 year warranty on this thing which is amazing. Noctua clearly cares about their customers and have complete trust in their product to last 6 years.

I can’t quite find a fault to this cooler except I’m not huge on the colour scheme. But I care more about performance than I do looks and this this certainly has good performance. Plus you can probably purchase a new fan for it anyway.

This gets a 5/5 from me.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersNoctua is the absolute premium in cooling CPU air cooling technology. The attention to detail in this product is incredible and I’d be hardpressed to find a design flaw. My overclocked Ryzen 5 1600 3925 Mhz at 1.330V peaks at 55 degrees during a stress test, and my FX-4170 before that went from thermal throttaling and randomly shutting down under load to staying at icey cool temps. This cooler is amazing.

My only gripe with it is that it’s not as silent as I was lead to believe by the other comments. I have autism so small sounds can be very irritating to me especially while I’m trying to study. Don’t get me wrong, I can only hear it gently breezing while I’m in an otherwise *completely* silent room (i.e, my bedroom at 3am in the morning) as soon as there is any ambient noise the fans are immediately drowned out, and even my non noise canceling headset does the job. Not only that, but the heat sink is so large that if you’re in a sufficently cool area you can remove the fan aswell as the other case fans and have a completely silent PC as the heatsink can passively cool itself due to its superb heat dissapation without causing the CPU to rise to high temperatures. Although I’d reccomend getting a larger heatsink if this is your intention, as well as replacing your HDD with SSDs and getting a PSU with an eco mode.

This cooler performed as expected. It’s quiet and it performs nearly as well as larger and more expensive coolers. Having only 1 tower of fins and 1 fan is great because it allows better access to the RAM slots on the motherboard. If it came with a less ugly fan, it would be even better, but I’m not that concerned with internal aesthetics.

Noctua NH-U14S imo is a breathtakingly good product. Can’t believe I waited so long to upgrade from Intel’s stock cooling solution.
I bought it mainly cos I heard it’s so silent. Didn’t even cap the RPM with their provided bottlenecker and it’s completely silent. Not a hyperbole either. COMPLETELY silent. Blew my mind.
CPU temp in idle is actually less then my body temperature. And even under full load it still keeps it below 50. It is only an i5 4670 w/o overclock, so some might say that’s no big feat but after Intel’s stock cooler that was both loud and let it go above 80 degrees, this is like magix.
As a last thought Id like to say that even tho I’m in awe at the efficiency and silence of it, the Secufirm mount in every way imaginable is just as unbelievably good. If the silence and watercooling levels of performance doesn’t win you over, the mounting kit will.
So very happy I invested in this, cant recommend highly enough. Invest is the operative word. Will be using this for like a decade by what I can tell of the build quality and mount adaptiveness.

In idle faccio 30 gradi)

Come sempre amazon 5/5!!!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was in 2 minds whether to get this or not, on the one hand my existing NH-D14 was still doing a sterling job after 5 years but it was now in a smaller case (Fractal Meshify C) and looking a bit cumbersome. On the other hand, would I lose the cooling capacity if I went for this single tower cooler. I could have gone for a extra NF-A15 fan but they only run at 1200rpm and not 1500rpm like the included fan. However being driven more by aesthetics than function I did eventually go for it and get one. I’ve just done a 15minute 100% load with intel burn test on a 5930k O/C to 4.5Ghz and found that the NH-U14S has the same cooling properties as the (single fan)NH-D14 within +/- 1C tollerance which in my book is the same, so in the end I made the right choice. It is amaizing that the NH-D14 has been improved upon or should I say the research has found a way to get the same cooling but with one tower.

    Cooling equivalent of the NH-D14

It is big, but I knew that before buying. I don’t like hard disk or fan noise. So I opted for an SSD in my latest build and this cooler and fan. It is quiet. Really quiet. And I am very pleased with it. Everything supplied is high quality. Fitting instructions are clear. Took me more time to remove the original intel CPU cooler and fan than to fit this one.

Love the quality but had to return it b/c of the size.

I love it, I wish I had brought one years ago instead of getting cheaper ones or the aio the noctra replaced it is very quiet.

Got it temporarily for my Ryzen 1700x and it performs amazingly! It can, however, be fragile; I bent some of the heatsink fins trying to install it 🙁

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy stock cooler wasn’t handling my i7 4790k very well, running very hot and loud. At first I just replaced the thermal paste with a Noctua NT-H1 paste, which helped but it was still very loud. Fast forward a few hours and after some investigation I decided to take the plunge and buy this cooler, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result!

I was a bit worried at first because I only noticed after ordering that it was 165mm tall, and my case (Fractal Design Core 2300) specs said it supported coolers up to 162mm. Luckily there seems to be some margin as the cooler fitted perfectly!

Now some notes about my experience:
    * The cpu now sits at it’s boost clock of 4.4GHz, up from it’s 4GHz base clock, even during CPU-Z’s stress tests. All this at a max temperature of 65-70 degrees celsius under full load (when it was getting close to 90 degrees with the stock cooler).
    * The CPU now is virtually silent! I notice no significative difference between idle and full load. This was one of the main reasons I opted for a good cooler, as I have noticed that the stock one was very loud (after I initially thinking the culprit was my GPU, which proved wrong after changing it’s thermal past).
    * It was very easy to install. The instructions where simple and clear and required no extra tools apart from what was on the box.

So overall, I am extremely happy with this cooler so far. I never valued what a good CPU cooler could do, but now I don’t think I’ll ever go back to stock cooler and will migrate this NH-U14S for my next build (socket permitting).
