A cracking good strong chainsaw. Needed it to reluctantly saw down a small tree whose roots were pushing up pavings & growing under the house. Really great saw.
Overall a good electric chain saw, but note the following… The motor is powerful but noisy. The assembly instructions do not exactly match the item as delivered because one part is a different shape and pre-assembled. The saw is quite heavy. My small ‘Husky’ petrol chain saw is much lighter. I fancy that the chain is not quite as sharp as that on my petrol saw – but it does the job. (Remember to order the chain oil).
I was a bit nervous (I had watched the horror movie!). But I had no trouble following the instructions, assembling the saw, lubricating and using it. It is a little heavy at my age, but I stayed safe using it.
Having read mixed reviews on chainsaws took the plunge with this one. So pleased I did, Managed to cut down a 9 conifer, 4 metre high hedge including chopping into manageable pieces in just 90 minutes. I Definitely recommend this saw. But remember to also get the best safety gear!
Great product and easy to use.
Make sure you get the right oil
I’m a small female and when starting up ot doesn’t knock u off your fee
As above, no chain oil provided with the product so make sure yu order some at the same time if you expect to use the saw out of the box.
I am really impressed with the speed at which Amazon replaced the initially faulty chain saw. After 30 minutes use, a small clip broke on the chain saw. I returned this chain saw and reordered a replacement. The replacement arrived the next day and works perfectly. Incredible customer service.
Had a 16″ petrol chainsaw, always stopping and fuel problems. This does the job better than the petrol saw and get more done as not stopping to fill it all the time.Definite convert to the electric chainsaw.
Quality product solidly built
Good Value for money with easy set up and chain tensioning .Excellent chai
I’ve used this saw to cut logs from a felled oak and it’s made light work of that. Initially it was difficult to get the blade to fit onto the guide and it took a lot of fiddling, even from a friend who’s a tree surgeon. But once on it’s been easy to work with and very effective at doing the job. The instant chain brake is a very good, and very reassuring, safety feature. The saw is well balanced and I could easily work with it for a long time. The chain is showing no sign of bluntness or deterioration, so all in all a good product and good value for money.
Absolutely love this, has lots of thick trees branch’s to get though for the log store tackled the no problem. Great item at a great price
Excellent product however only gave it 3 stars as it had the wrong chain rather than mess around I went to my local supplier and bought a new one.
Cuts large trunks like butter! For the amount of use I would have had to resharpen my old chain saw twice..Impressed.
I didn’t want a big chainsaw, something that does the job, doesn’t feel like it’s going to saw your leg off feel lol. Its got very quick to stop as soon as you take your finger off the saw it stops, that’s very reassuring. Its been good and does the job at cutting big wood. Highly recommended.
It would appear the manufacturer has addressed the issue of the missing O ring on the tensioner. It is now fitted to the chain bar from the factory.
When fitting the chain make sure the tensioner is fully clockwise to give you enough slack to fit the chain.
Other than that was a doddle.
Two months down the line.
Today I cutdown a 24″ diameter tree stump for a neighbour. Absolutely brilliant piece of kit.
Bought this from amazon wearhouse, classed as used so nice discount and I was presently surprised when it came as only box was damaged, perfect.
Needed to take a tree down (not a high one but with a girth of about 40 inches, or about 14 inches across) cutting the roots with a hand saw would not have been easy so I decided on an electric chainsaw, after some research chose this on and wasn’t disappointed. Made sure I read and followed the instructions and looked up about the safe way to use a chainsaw (and followed the advise) and it was great. Also ordered a chainsaw sharpening kit which was needed.
Really impressed with this chain saw. Easy to assemble and reliable.
Good machine and easy to use, does what it’s meant to.
Powerful machine a little heavy at first but soon got used to it. cuts down trees effortly
Reasonably priced product. Didnt find it easy fitting the chain and assembling the arm , however got there in the end. Works well on medium size logs, i bought the Oregon log stand for it which makes cutting the logs a lot easier..
I was going to buy a cheaper black and decker , but review said good but needs an Oregon chain , which made me think why not buy an Oregon , this saw is a belter probably more powerful than my petrol husky , out of box assembled and oiled in seconds , bought to save upsetting the neighbours as I have a lot of wood to cut at home . Solid , confidence inspiring piece of kit and 3 year warranty , couldn’t recommend more .
I’ve been cutting logs for over 45 years .
Brilliant bit of kit, found no problems with assembly and with a nice long power cable.
I first bought a “Titan” chainsaw seemed to work okay for a while but motor burned out in the end doing simple tasks like cutting the odd 4/5″ log.
The Oregon chainsaw however is a different beast unlike the Titan the chain is easy to to keep adjusted and cuts through wood easily it has more power than the Titan and the cord is extra long. Great saw for the money!
This saw is very well designed with very easy chain adjustment. The supplied chain cuts through large trees in seconds. The addition of a safety brake is very welcome. A delight to own and use.
Brilliant cuts through wood easily
After awhile it does get heavy but it does the job, not really noisy
Out performs my petrol chainsaw, it’s quite and just as powerful , no kickback and the oragon chain is quality like knife through butter has all the safety features you need just remember to keep it topped up with chain oil superb piece of ki
This arrived today took about ten mins to assemble filled the oil tank and fitted it to the clamp on my saw horse plugged it in and tried it out, bags of power and sliced through the slabs I use for firewood with no problem. After 56 years of using petrol chainsaws with all the noise and fumes , this saw is the future for me, in fact I’m so impressed I’m considering buying one of their cordless models to use in the woods next to my house.
I had a black and decker electric chainsaw years ago and this one is a revelation. So much more powerfully and sturdilly made, for about the same money.
I find electric chainsaws much safer than petrol, only running while you squeeze both triggers.
Looks good, leaks oil when no in use but otherwise okay
Surprisingly a very powerful and very sharp product. I just cut the tops off my conifer trees, cut through it like a hot knife going through butter. I found it a little heavy when holding it up the ladder and found myself having to keep climbing back down to rest a moment before starting but overall I am very pleased with this item
I bought this machine by accident!
I wanted the freedom of a cordless, but Amazon did not accept my selection to survey, the photo did not show the cord, and I did not read the description properly!
In spite of that, I am happy with this m/c. I assembled it reasonably easily, and it does a good job of cutting up my waste wood. It is the first chainsaw I have ever used, so I do not think I can really give a good review-y verdict, but it is fine for what I wanted, and I would recommend for a beginner.
Purchased this to take down a couple of smallish trees in the garden. Fitting the chain was a bit fiddly but generally assembly was straight forward. Topped up the oil, a quick test to make sure it was all working and we were good to go. This chainsaw made quick and easy work of the apple tree “like a hot knife through butter”. Will be trying it on slightly larger cherry tree next but so far so good.
Oil has to be ordered separately. We didn’t realise so our planned work in the garden had to be postponed until the oil arrived.
It was heavier than expected and we found it fiddly to assemble. We turned to a YouTube video for help.
Once assembled and oiled, the cutting back of branches was very easy and fast.
I bought this saw to use in a garage and a lot less noise and pollution than my petrol one!!!
But really good quality I would recommend anyone to buy one i bought this one to cut sleepers for a flower bed and I am really pleased with the performance.
RM
Comes with long lead.
Heavy if you are doing a lot of work.
Does what a chainsaw should do. Its quite hefty and more powerful than I expected an electric saw to be, especially one at this price.
The tool free adjustment is a Godsend, no more faffing about to make adjustments – loosening or tightening is a cinch.
The instructions for assembly could be a little easier to follow, but they’re not too bad. Just remember to loosen the chain guide bar when putting the chain on! Theres 30 minutes i won’t get back
The bar arrived incorrectly assembled; with the tensioner pulley fitted upside down and fitting screw firmly welded in place with thread lock. This took a lot of effort to remove, and I’m a reasonably big bloke. On removal, a tiny rubber washer, described by the user manual as “mandatory”, pinged off and went missing, fortunately found 15 minutes later.
Once this palaver was finally sorted out, the chainsaw seems substantially better constructed and nicer handling than the five year old Hyundai electric chainsaw it replaced, which had suffered an oil pump failure.
Would be five stars, were it not supplied with a misassembled bar.
A follow up comment after several hours of use: The lock handle on the chain tensioner is nearly always very stiff to undo, and I’m not over-tightening it. Sometimes I need to use a second hand to assist in undoing it. You should untension the chain before putting a chainsaw away, so this is effectively once per use. If you’re of, erm, “inappropriate stature or gender”, I wouldn’t recommend this chainsaw.
Very Pleased with the speed it was delivered.I am very pleased with it and wish I had bought an electric chain saw long ago.The tension adjust on the chain is much easier to adjust than my perol saws and I don’t have a lengthy time trying to get my petrol ones to start. a very good buy.
A good solid piece of equipment well made and easy to assemble. I like the fact that it is surprisingly quiet for a chainsaw. I like too the self-lubricating mechanism, just remember to check the reservoir now and again while using it for any period of time. It has certainly speeded up pruning the trees in the garden.
Just a great bit of kit, really long lead which i like & easy to use. I would definatly get another one !!
Very impressed made light work of a tree I had been needing to take down for a long time. Fast, efficient and easy to use. Cut through was like going through butter. Highly recommended.
Boy, does this work. Easy to assemble. Easy to understand. Bear in mind that’s it’s a lethal piece of kit and has to handled with extreme care, but it does the job for the home pruner. Follow the full instructions about keeping the chain sharp, and maintaining the tension and you have a great piece of kit.
Makes sawing logs up so easy & quick. Very easy to operate. Very powerful. Will buy same again from Amazon.
Next day delivery, easy to assemble, cutting logs within 20 minutes of opening the box. Impressed with the quality. No chain saw oil included so don’t forget to purchase separately. I thought the instructions were very comprehensive but many of the steps had already been completed during manafacture. All you have to do is fill it with oil, fit the guide bar and chain, click up the tensioner, replace the side cover and off you go.
Easy to put together (all you have to do is put the chain on). Remember to fill it with chain oil (not supplied). Easy and quiet to use. A great product, for garden and other light use. Makes light work of small trees, old fence posts etc. I like this chainsaw. A lot less faff and a lot less noise than a petrol chainsaw.
Found difficult to assemble with no previous knowledge So not used as yet.
Well, you can knock me down, step in my face
Slander my name all over the place
Do anything that you wanna do
But uh-uh honey, lay off of my Oregon Chainsaw
Great product. Easy to assemble and set up
Very poor and misleading instructions for set up. Once set up a very good saw, punches well above its weight.
Having researched for a while, this item came top of the list for value and ease of assembly/use. It took 20mins to assemble, very clear instructions, make sure you purchase oil at the same time! It’s done almost three hours of chopping up ash logs today, 30cm diameter, and it’s not missed a beat. It uses quite a lot of oil (needed topping up half way through) but I’m sure they all do. If you need something that’s good value for occasional tree chopping you can’t go wrong with this. It’s paid itself back in a day compared to buying chopped logs.
Excellent product, very good value, easy to use and very good instructions on how to assemble
l
Does the job well but chain needs to be at right tension to work well.
Early days for any gadget like this, but it does the job surprisingly well as long as you observe the operating instructions and proceed at a sensible pace. Recommended on use so far.
Well made plenty of torque but not to heavy lovely to use
Bought this for general garden work, can’t believe how easy it rips through 8 inch logs.
Very impressive for a small electric chain saw.
best electric saw i have used when cutting trees for the garden i recommend anyone doing their own garden who has a lot of trees to get this.
I was lucky to get it at a fantastic price, neighbour cut some trees down with it, he said it was perfect for the job
Despite all the negative reviews, this worked like a dream slicing through tress like water. I initially got the chain on in the wrong direction and was initially disappointed when it started bouncing of the trees. But I reviewed the instructions and realised I got the chin on in the wrong direction, even though it was very hard to see I got it on wrong. Nonetheless, I reversed the chain and it worked like a dream. More so it is value for money and the risk I took despite some negative reviews was well worth taking.
I cut and split all my own logs, so ordered this for home cutting so as not too disturb the neighbors too much. Used for the first time this weekend.
Positives; easy to assemble, chain brake is fantastic and quick, easy to handle, long heavy duty cable; chain stayed well tensioned through a couple of hours work
Negative; the oil window is opaque, so difficult to see how much is left.
Had 12 medium size trees to cut down. Chainsaw handled the job perfectly and with ease. Only criticism is that the blades are now blunt and need replacing hoped they would last longer.
Good solid product at low price point. Easy to use and assemble with good safety features, plenty of power too for some quite hefty logs/stumps I had to cut.
Perfect , not easy to find new chain used to cut two tonne of wood into logs , not at all noisy
I is a very powerful beast that eats through logs up to 8 inches in diameter (that’s what I was cutting I’m sure it would eat through larger logs).
First outing yesterday, spending the morning today logging for the coming winter as it was quite a relaxing task, very little noise or vibration.
[IT DOES NOT COME WITH OIL] – However I had bought some at the same time.
It does not come with a sharpening / maintenance kit. I ordered one this morning, now for a coffee and back to work on the pile of logs
Jim
Why did we plant 30 feet of Leylandi 30 years ago.
Having decided it had to go I probably spent longer on you Tube watching videos about chainsaw use and safety than I did cutting down the hedge.
I’d rate this a useful garden tool and I had no issues in its use.
Suitable for current garden project, good power and cutting edge. Well made and has useful 6m heavy duty length cable.
Keep cleaning out sawdust from chain casing regularly to avoid any clogging. Remember to purchase sufficient chain oil and keep your eye on level indicator as it uses quite a bit after several heavy cuts.
Also purchased a replacement chain for future use.
Absolutely amazing chainsaw! It is like cutting through butter with a hot sharp knife. Love it, and look forward to years of use..
Is good and sturdy and powerful. Delivered one day late? but delivered one day earlier than messaged to me!! Either way who cares I’ve got it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Works really well, don’t forget to order chain oil, I used it for a very thick hedge approx 2 inch diameter branches and was like a knife through butter.
I can’t give this enough stars.very, very pleased.Cuts through logs like a dream.Would recommend to anyone who has trees or large logs that need cutting.
Great chainsaw, but 2 negatives to be aware of: 1) You must buy oil separately as it comes with none. 2) The instructions are not great, and include steps that have already been done / don’t exist. Expect assembly to be frustrating and take hours if you’re not particularly savvy.
Easy to use and saved me trying to saw branches
My first chainsaw and works brilliantly. Great build quality and very sturdy! Highly recommended.
Supurb chainsaw for small and large logs. Bought this to chop the logs I bring back from the woods so that I’m not over usingy petrol one, didn’t think it would be much good but after using it a few times have realised it’s brilliant. Definitely recommended.
Looks great but needs chainsaw oil to use and doesn’t come with any ? Why the hell not ??
Like sending out without a plug but I could get a plug from anywhere unlike chainsaw oil
I’ve also used the chainsaw at my mum’s house to bring down a 20 foot ash tree that was dangerously leaning over and at risk of damaging the house. I didn’t bring down the tree in one action but in smaller sections so that I had more control over where it landed. The main trunk of the tree was about 12″ in diameter and while it was more work for the saw, it soon did it. It took a while to log it (about 3 hours at a leisurely pace), but it would have taken much longer if I had use more traditional methods and would have been a serious undertaking over many days. I have a dead tree at the end of the drive and while it does not need to come down yet, one day it will and I feel confident enough to do it myself.
Easy to clean and maintain and coped with all of the modest jobs I wanted it to do. I can’t comment on how it might cope with more challenging tasks involving bigger trees, but in all honesty I would probably have used a professional for that anyway. Consequently, I think this is more suited domestic use rather than as a commercial option, but it does exactly what I need it to do.
It has handled with ease everything I have thrown at it so far. I have felled a 30 foot tree and topped/thinned a number of other trees.
I have been using it all day for the past 4 days on heavy duty work and it has been brilliant.
So far no complaints at all. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Knocked a star off because the instructions are really poor and it was necessary to look online for info on how to assemble. Also the chain needs frequent tightening.
Those points aside this is a good piece of kit which will do the job required.
Wow, really good quality. Haven’t had an opportunity to use it much yet. However this will sure be a good investment.
Used three times and it does the job very well
owned a lot of chain saws without doubt this is the best and value
It’s very efficient and powerful. It’s good for amateur garden clearing.
was easy to use and very capable was impressed for the money
would recommend this saw
First thing to say, is there’s no magic about doing the cutting so any saw with a powerful enough motor and a new (or sharpened) chain will do the business. The size of the blade will determine how big a trunk it will cut so all of that is easy for the first time buyer to decide.
If you have not used a saw before like this then safety is number one priority and in order for that to be done easily, you need to be able to maintain the condition of the chain and be able to clean it properly. My old chainsaw was incredibly fiddly to do this due to the way the chain and its guide were attached to the motor gears. It was a balancing act stopping the chain falling off while the cover was screwed back on. Tensioning via a screw arrangement was unsatisfactory.
This one as you will notice has an external dial for doing this. Even if you do not want this saw, buy one with this arrangement. Mounting and tensioning the chain is an absolute doddle making it safe to use. The item comes unassembled so you need to do this. The cover is unscrewed and the guide put in place. Even without the cover on, you can turn the wheel on the bar so as to get the required length more or less correct before putting the cover on. Of course, the chain only cuts in one direction so you need to have that right. Put the cover back on, turn the outer dial until the chain is at the correct tension, tighten the centre dial and that’s it. Excellent.
This device has a brake on it but also unlike my other chainsaw, as soon as you release the power button, the chain stops before the motor has come to a stop. Another very good idea in my opinion.
It has a good strong power cable that won’t twist or curl – again important. It is a little bit on the heavy side but nothing to be concerned about. Well thought out. As for longevity, clearly, I am unable to comment but it has a 3yr warranty so that tells us something.
