A cracking good strong chainsaw. Needed it to reluctantly saw down a small tree whose roots were pushing up pavings & growing under the house. Really great saw.

Overall a good electric chain saw, but note the following… The motor is powerful but noisy. The assembly instructions do not exactly match the item as delivered because one part is a different shape and pre-assembled. The saw is quite heavy. My small ‘Husky’ petrol chain saw is much lighter. I fancy that the chain is not quite as sharp as that on my petrol saw – but it does the job. (Remember to order the chain oil).

I was a bit nervous (I had watched the horror movie!). But I had no trouble following the instructions, assembling the saw, lubricating and using it. It is a little heavy at my age, but I stayed safe using it.

Having read mixed reviews on chainsaws took the plunge with this one. So pleased I did, Managed to cut down a 9 conifer, 4 metre high hedge including chopping into manageable pieces in just 90 minutes. I Definitely recommend this saw. But remember to also get the best safety gear!

I am really impressed with the speed at which Amazon replaced the initially faulty chain saw. After 30 minutes use, a small clip broke on the chain saw. I returned this chain saw and reordered a replacement. The replacement arrived the next day and works perfectly. Incredible customer service.

Had a 16″ petrol chainsaw, always stopping and fuel problems. This does the job better than the petrol saw and get more done as not stopping to fill it all the time.Definite convert to the electric chainsaw.

I’ve used this saw to cut logs from a felled oak and it’s made light work of that. Initially it was difficult to get the blade to fit onto the guide and it took a lot of fiddling, even from a friend who’s a tree surgeon. But once on it’s been easy to work with and very effective at doing the job. The instant chain brake is a very good, and very reassuring, safety feature. The saw is well balanced and I could easily work with it for a long time. The chain is showing no sign of bluntness or deterioration, so all in all a good product and good value for money.

I didn’t want a big chainsaw, something that does the job, doesn’t feel like it’s going to saw your leg off feel lol. Its got very quick to stop as soon as you take your finger off the saw it stops, that’s very reassuring. Its been good and does the job at cutting big wood. Highly recommended.

It would appear the manufacturer has addressed the issue of the missing O ring on the tensioner. It is now fitted to the chain bar from the factory.
When fitting the chain make sure the tensioner is fully clockwise to give you enough slack to fit the chain.
Other than that was a doddle.

    Two months down the line.
Today I cutdown a 24″ diameter tree stump for a neighbour. Absolutely brilliant piece of kit.

Needed to take a tree down (not a high one but with a girth of about 40 inches, or about 14 inches across) cutting the roots with a hand saw would not have been easy so I decided on an electric chainsaw, after some research chose this on and wasn’t disappointed. Made sure I read and followed the instructions and looked up about the safe way to use a chainsaw (and followed the advise) and it was great. Also ordered a chainsaw sharpening kit which was needed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy neighbour is a fireman and was excited to learn I had bought a chainsaw, but quickly changed his tune when I told him it was electric. I suggested he reserves his opinion until he has a chance to try it out so I gave him some South African hardwood logs that I have for my firepit and it destroyed them. He took it to a section of my holly oak that is due to be felled and again, it made short work of it. This is a beast of a saw. Very high quality materials and a seriously tough piece of equipment.

Reasonably priced product. Didnt find it easy fitting the chain and assembling the arm , however got there in the end. Works well on medium size logs, i bought the Oregon log stand for it which makes cutting the logs a lot easier..

I was going to buy a cheaper black and decker , but review said good but needs an Oregon chain , which made me think why not buy an Oregon , this saw is a belter probably more powerful than my petrol husky , out of box assembled and oiled in seconds , bought to save upsetting the neighbours as I have a lot of wood to cut at home . Solid , confidence inspiring piece of kit and 3 year warranty , couldn’t recommend more .

I’ve been cutting logs for over 45 years .

I first bought a “Titan” chainsaw seemed to work okay for a while but motor burned out in the end doing simple tasks like cutting the odd 4/5″ log.
The Oregon chainsaw however is a different beast unlike the Titan the chain is easy to to keep adjusted and cuts through wood easily it has more power than the Titan and the cord is extra long. Great saw for the money!

This arrived today took about ten mins to assemble filled the oil tank and fitted it to the clamp on my saw horse plugged it in and tried it out, bags of power and sliced through the slabs I use for firewood with no problem. After 56 years of using petrol chainsaws with all the noise and fumes , this saw is the future for me, in fact I’m so impressed I’m considering buying one of their cordless models to use in the woods next to my house.

I had a black and decker electric chainsaw years ago and this one is a revelation. So much more powerfully and sturdilly made, for about the same money.
I find electric chainsaws much safer than petrol, only running while you squeeze both triggers.

Surprisingly a very powerful and very sharp product. I just cut the tops off my conifer trees, cut through it like a hot knife going through butter. I found it a little heavy when holding it up the ladder and found myself having to keep climbing back down to rest a moment before starting but overall I am very pleased with this item

I bought this machine by accident!
I wanted the freedom of a cordless, but Amazon did not accept my selection to survey, the photo did not show the cord, and I did not read the description properly!

In spite of that, I am happy with this m/c. I assembled it reasonably easily, and it does a good job of cutting up my waste wood. It is the first chainsaw I have ever used, so I do not think I can really give a good review-y verdict, but it is fine for what I wanted, and I would recommend for a beginner.

Purchased this to take down a couple of smallish trees in the garden. Fitting the chain was a bit fiddly but generally assembly was straight forward. Topped up the oil, a quick test to make sure it was all working and we were good to go. This chainsaw made quick and easy work of the apple tree “like a hot knife through butter”. Will be trying it on slightly larger cherry tree next but so far so good.

Like a hot knife through butter.

Oil has to be ordered separately. We didn’t realise so our planned work in the garden had to be postponed until the oil arrived.
It was heavier than expected and we found it fiddly to assemble. We turned to a YouTube video for help.
Once assembled and oiled, the cutting back of branches was very easy and fast.

  39. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Does what a chainsaw should do. Its quite hefty and more powerful than I expected an electric saw to be, especially one at this price.
The tool free adjustment is a Godsend, no more faffing about to make adjustments – loosening or tightening is a cinch.
The instructions for assembly could be a little easier to follow, but they’re not too bad. Just remember to loosen the chain guide bar when putting the chain on! Theres 30 minutes i won’t get back

  40. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

The bar arrived incorrectly assembled; with the tensioner pulley fitted upside down and fitting screw firmly welded in place with thread lock. This took a lot of effort to remove, and I’m a reasonably big bloke. On removal, a tiny rubber washer, described by the user manual as “mandatory”, pinged off and went missing, fortunately found 15 minutes later.

Once this palaver was finally sorted out, the chainsaw seems substantially better constructed and nicer handling than the five year old Hyundai electric chainsaw it replaced, which had suffered an oil pump failure.

Would be five stars, were it not supplied with a misassembled bar.

A follow up comment after several hours of use: The lock handle on the chain tensioner is nearly always very stiff to undo, and I’m not over-tightening it. Sometimes I need to use a second hand to assist in undoing it. You should untension the chain before putting a chainsaw away, so this is effectively once per use. If you’re of, erm, “inappropriate stature or gender”, I wouldn’t recommend this chainsaw.

Very Pleased with the speed it was delivered.I am very pleased with it and wish I had bought an electric chain saw long ago.The tension adjust on the chain is much easier to adjust than my perol saws and I don’t have a lengthy time trying to get my petrol ones to start. a very good buy.

A good solid piece of equipment well made and easy to assemble. I like the fact that it is surprisingly quiet for a chainsaw. I like too the self-lubricating mechanism, just remember to check the reservoir now and again while using it for any period of time. It has certainly speeded up pruning the trees in the garden.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOn a cold afternoon around a firepit this saw produced a barrow full of logs in 15 minutes. Really sharp, very powerfull and chain stops the instant the trigger is released. Thankfully, no more wasted time and puffing to pull start an petrol chainsaw. So long as task is within range of an extension lead, I would never go back to petrol. Much better option than a battery version and more powerful.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased for cutting up logs, which is does extremely well. 3.6 cubic metre log pile produed over four days is testament to that. There is only one fault in the design and that is the oil tank level inspection window, which was obviously conceived by someone, who was moonlighting from his day job at a chocolate teapot factory The window is virtually opaque and the oil level is hardly distinguishable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDid some work on my neighbours trees during lock down and never having owned a chainsaw needed a reasonably priced and decent chainsaw without becoming a professional tree surgeon. This electric chainsaw from oregon was perfect. Powerful enough to chop trees with 12 in girth as in the picture and great to use with appropriate safety features. Getting the chain on is a bit of a struggle but plenty of help in the qna section. It’s reasonably heavy, but not unmanageable.

Great product at a decent price from a respected brand

Boy, does this work. Easy to assemble. Easy to understand. Bear in mind that’s it’s a lethal piece of kit and has to handled with extreme care, but it does the job for the home pruner. Follow the full instructions about keeping the chain sharp, and maintaining the tension and you have a great piece of kit.

I thought the instructions were very comprehensive but many of the steps had already been completed during manafacture. All you have to do is fill it with oil, fit the guide bar and chain, click up the tensioner, replace the side cover and off you go.

Having researched for a while, this item came top of the list for value and ease of assembly/use. It took 20mins to assemble, very clear instructions, make sure you purchase oil at the same time! It’s done almost three hours of chopping up ash logs today, 30cm diameter, and it’s not missed a beat. It uses quite a lot of oil (needed topping up half way through) but I’m sure they all do. If you need something that’s good value for occasional tree chopping you can’t go wrong with this. It’s paid itself back in a day compared to buying chopped logs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally does the job well and good value. A little heavy. One part of the assembly instructions was misleading and talks about a rubber seal being in place. This is already assembled and I’d advise not checking as it was a pain to do the part up again. Also putting the oil in was awkward as at a strange angle but not impossible, just messy. So far it’s taken down a number of trees and reduced the large trunks into smaller logs easily. Great purchase

Despite all the negative reviews, this worked like a dream slicing through tress like water. I initially got the chain on in the wrong direction and was initially disappointed when it started bouncing of the trees. But I reviewed the instructions and realised I got the chin on in the wrong direction, even though it was very hard to see I got it on wrong. Nonetheless, I reversed the chain and it worked like a dream. More so it is value for money and the risk I took despite some negative reviews was well worth taking.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersProduct arrived earlier than stated which was good. Unpacking went well, thought I’d made a point of reading the manual. With oil tank filled went to start it… nothing.. tried another outlet.. nothing.. pretty grumpy went through the return procedure even as far as printing the label.. A thought, re-re-read the manual.. the chain brake was on. Worth noting… After that, plain sailing. The chain tensioner works well, as does the saw. Great chainsaw, but 2 negatives to be aware of: 1) You must buy oil separately as it comes with none. 2) The instructions are not great, and include steps that have already been done / don’t exist. Expect assembly to be frustrating and take hours if you’re not particularly savvy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter a long delay I have finally got round to trying out this very useful tool. My house has a wood at the bottom of the garden and every year branches on some of the trees need trimming back and up to now I’ve made do with a bow saw and a lot of effort. However, I now have this and a job that would take a couple of days each year is now done in a matter of minutes. It effortlessly cuts through wood from small trees and branches up to 4″ diameter as though they were made of paper. It also allows for precision cutting to make sure the job is done neatly and the damage to the tree is minimal.

I’ve also used the chainsaw at my mum’s house to bring down a 20 foot ash tree that was dangerously leaning over and at risk of damaging the house. I didn’t bring down the tree in one action but in smaller sections so that I had more control over where it landed. The main trunk of the tree was about 12″ in diameter and while it was more work for the saw, it soon did it. It took a while to log it (about 3 hours at a leisurely pace), but it would have taken much longer if I had use more traditional methods and would have been a serious undertaking over many days. I have a dead tree at the end of the drive and while it does not need to come down yet, one day it will and I feel confident enough to do it myself.

Easy to clean and maintain and coped with all of the modest jobs I wanted it to do. I can’t comment on how it might cope with more challenging tasks involving bigger trees, but in all honesty I would probably have used a professional for that anyway. Consequently, I think this is more suited domestic use rather than as a commercial option, but it does exactly what I need it to do.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersI was replacing a petrol chainsaw so was a bit reluctant whether this would have enough power.

It has handled with ease everything I have thrown at it so far. I have felled a 30 foot tree and topped/thinned a number of other trees.

I have been using it all day for the past 4 days on heavy duty work and it has been brilliant.

So far no complaints at all. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor an electric type this is pretty decent. Enough power for cutting, up to present, through ash logs 30″ dia and even vertical cuts up to 18″. Pine also up to about 10″. No kick-back and has a feeling of being under control during use, unlike some models which feel as if they’re not only underpowered but might get away at any moment. Pretty smooth action.

Knocked a star off because the instructions are really poor and it was necessary to look online for info on how to assemble. Also the chain needs frequent tightening.

Those points aside this is a good piece of kit which will do the job required.

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI’ve always had petrol chainsaws up to now but with advancing age and arthritis, starting petrol engines is sometimes a bit of an issue nowadays. An electric machine can’t give you the same flexibility or power of course but – for the price – this is a good utility saw for medium to light logging with excellent safety features. I had no problems assembling it and it is easy to use and maintain. Tensioning the chain is really simple thanks to some excellent design. It will never replace a petrol saw but at the risk of making a slightly silly statement it is good at what it is good at and a very practical machine.!

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersBought to chop a load of oak for the winter. You won’t get through proper solid oak without a chainsaw. This did exactly what I needed. The chain did blunt like many people said but part of owning and maintaining a chainsaw is regularly sharpening the chain. Luckily here in France you’re spoilt for choice as I live in the forestry capital of the haute vienne. Anyway works great and hasn’t given me any issues at all.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a very nice little example of the classic chainsaw. it’s pretty lightweight, it’s easy to manoeuvre, it;s corded so you won;t be able to go roaming around the woods with it, which is probably a good thing. Dealt with the overhanging branches of a troublesome tree at he back of my house with no problems at all. Two neighbours have already asked me where I got it from. Jealous much? Please chainsaw responsibly.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersHaving had to clear a garden with about 50 overgrown conifer trees (we all know the problem) I wish I’d have had this chainsaw instead of the ones I bought years ago. Why?

First thing to say, is there’s no magic about doing the cutting so any saw with a powerful enough motor and a new (or sharpened) chain will do the business. The size of the blade will determine how big a trunk it will cut so all of that is easy for the first time buyer to decide.

If you have not used a saw before like this then safety is number one priority and in order for that to be done easily, you need to be able to maintain the condition of the chain and be able to clean it properly. My old chainsaw was incredibly fiddly to do this due to the way the chain and its guide were attached to the motor gears. It was a balancing act stopping the chain falling off while the cover was screwed back on. Tensioning via a screw arrangement was unsatisfactory.

This one as you will notice has an external dial for doing this. Even if you do not want this saw, buy one with this arrangement. Mounting and tensioning the chain is an absolute doddle making it safe to use. The item comes unassembled so you need to do this. The cover is unscrewed and the guide put in place. Even without the cover on, you can turn the wheel on the bar so as to get the required length more or less correct before putting the cover on. Of course, the chain only cuts in one direction so you need to have that right. Put the cover back on, turn the outer dial until the chain is at the correct tension, tighten the centre dial and that’s it. Excellent.

This device has a brake on it but also unlike my other chainsaw, as soon as you release the power button, the chain stops before the motor has come to a stop. Another very good idea in my opinion.

It has a good strong power cable that won’t twist or curl – again important. It is a little bit on the heavy side but nothing to be concerned about. Well thought out. As for longevity, clearly, I am unable to comment but it has a 3yr warranty so that tells us something.
