i purchased a different brand of security camera from Amazon last year and it was pretty useless and I should have returned it but was hoping with upgrades it would improve but no .Purchased this about a month ago and so far I have been really impressed .The picture quality is great for the price even the night vision .The battery is not lasting 4-6 months but I didn’t think it would .If you’re looking for a security camera and don’t want to pay a fortune give this camera a go .I found it really easy to set up thank goodness as the last one was a nightmare .

Does what it says it does
Easy to setup – good solid quality – genuine wireless with battery bars all still full after 2 weeks – easy to use app and good quick response on alarm when motion sensor is triggered. Very happy with this.

I waited to review this until I had it for a while. It arrived on 20 Feb 21 and I started getting notifications on the app around 15 April it need recharged so the charge lasted 2 months with a lot of use. By this I mean viewing live video a lot and it notifying my when it senses motion. It’s a great camera for the money, good picture, good WiFi signal and barely any delay when it senses movement. I would highly recommend.

I’ve had some experience with smart cameras and motion detectors and I can’t complain about this camera considering the value. It records motion detections for up to 30 seconds and is fairly responsive with notifications appearing quicker on Apple devices in comparison to Android. You can playback alerts in SD or HD (catering to your broadband bandwith). I like how they enable you to see photos of your motion; great for conserving your smartphone battery; because let’s be honest, you don’t need to see every motion especially after checking the app simultaneously for a week.
Night vision is very clear too however based on where the camera is situated there is lightning which enables better visibility.
There have been a few occasions where I’ve left my property and came back two minutes later with no motion detection upon my arrival – I wouldn’t like to discredit the ability of this camera and I’m sure there is a reason for this. However considering the 30 second motion recording it leaves me wondering whether there is a processing period (2-5mins( before the camera starts to record motions again.
It’s fairly large in size and draws a attention to itself. I have had the camera for two weeks now and only one battery bar has been used. I’m anticipating a full two/two and a half month cycle based on the current activity – very positive.
The application is fairly easy to use although I do believe it could be streamlined for better usability. I’m a bit disappointed at the lack of ability to export each motion without having to access my micro SD card. Definitely room for improvement there.
Overall it does the job for the purpose. Clear HD video however the photographic sensor could be better. I would probably give it a 6/10 in hopes there is improvement for its app functionality and development in motion modes for future cameras.

First time using such a camera. I found it easy to set up and add the SD card. App is easy to use and charging, then linking to my home WiFi worked fine. Still working on optimising the motion detector setting as only had it for about 3 weeks. So far so good. Very satisfied and no drilling through walls for power cables!

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the images, even at night. It’s nice that the camera saves snapshots, as well as clips of a user defined length. I also like the fact that the images are stored locally on the micro SD card, rather than constantly uploading loads of data. The battery is looking like it should last about 10 weeks, which seems pretty good. Based on my experience so far, I’d certainly recommend this camera.

I purchased two different cameras to test side to side. This COOAU, plus a cheaper camera from a major brand. I carried out the same tests hoping that both would be successful and I could keep them both, one for outside the house and one for inside.
To my surprise the COOAU camera beat the top brand camera hands down on pretty much everything, including, motion detection, picture quality, ease of setup, software features, software reliability, camera sharing, night vision, paid cloud services.
Human motion detection with low false positives was my main requirement.
This camera passed with flying colours my motion detection testing. The top brand produced numerous false positives when the ambient day light conditions would suddenly change, or when a small object was rapidly passed in front of the camera. The COOAU cam, incredibly did not generate a single false positive! and detected human motion every time.
Seemingly COOAU have implemented more advanced algorithms for human detection rather than just for any kind of motion detection and they do refer to motion detection as ‘Human Motion Detection’ actually. This is great! Job well done.
The battery currently still shows 100% after 3 days of testing. COOAU claim the battery can last 4-6 months under low motion events conditions and short recording setting.
The quality of the picture is crisp and was better than the top brand’s cheaper camera I tested. This is true for the night mode too, which turns on automatically. The auto-exposure works very well producing night bright picture even in low light conditions (i.e. when the night mode has not yet kicked in).
The wide angle is good.
The software app is rich in features and I couldn’t flaw it. It took me just minutes to set everything up even without fully reading the substantial manual included. In contrast to this, the top brand’s app although it looked prettier, it kept failing in a number of ways, wasting me hours of testing efforts.
Push notifications work well and instantly (unlike the other camera I tested).
COOAU also offer numerous cloud storage options with a 7 day trial. The other manufacturer did not offer any which was odd. COOAU’s prices seem rather fair and cloud storage is easy to activate through the app. I have attached a photo of their offerings.
The only potential flaw I noticed is that I was unable to delete footage from the cloud, but I haven’t contacted COOAU about this yet.
In summary I am pleasantly surprised by this product and I feel that it totally deserves a chance.

This was my first security camera that I have purchased. I wanted one to use to monitor my driveway where I park my car
I am very pleased with the camera it was easy to install the picture is really great.
Truly wireless and amazing build and picture quality
This camera is truly wireless, so if like me you do not have a power source close by this is a God send.
The battery life seems to be good and wifi signal is spot on.
In addition it has excellent picture quality both during the day and night.

Really easy to set up and install and the quality of the camera is spot on, picture quality day and night are amazing from this little camera. Be aware that it does not record constantly, and only records when motion is detected. This is great for battery life, but means a remote position with a broad view of your garden won’t work, as it’s too far to detect a person’s movement. Close to a point of entry (gate, door etc) will. I think 5-8m detection range is more accurate than 8-13m claimed.
The definition, night and day is genuinely outstanding. The set up is really easy to use (despite the Chinglish in the instructions and free app). Wifi range is also great: my camera is a good 20m away outside through a thick wall, and I’m still getting 80%. That’s with a standard BT homehub.
All in all a lovely designed unit, perfect when there is no mains power available, and incredible value for money. Recommended.

For me, this cctv is great value for money. It’s well designed and constructed and I happily recommend it.
One of this cctv’s many positives is its battery operation. No need for cables to connect it so no constraints for my chosen location. I fully charged it before first use and have been using it for over two weeks. It still has lots of power left. To recharge it, simply unhook it from its support. I use it to keep an eye on my driveway and my yard.
Another big positive is, I receive an alert on my phone as well as a screenshot via the application as soon as movement is detected. The video quality is very good; I can even zoom the image through the app to see more detail. It is also equipped with night vision which works well in monochrome.

Ordered this camera to allow me to keep an eye on the garde nfor security purposes.
The night vision really surprised me how good it was, and it now regularly detects Foxes that visit our garden. I needed a camera with a wide range of vision, and this one fit the bill perfectly.
Easy to setup in the app, and even though it is quite a way from our router, it still picks up the WiFi and has a strong signal almost all the time.

Great picture during day and night & long battery life.
This is the third Cooau camera I’ve bought. The picture is crystal clear and performs unbelievably well at night (see pics). You get a notification the minute it senses motion and, unlike other brands of cameras i have had in the past, this has so far only notified me when a person has actually approached. This new version of the camera still works with the same app, alongside my other two Cooau cameras. Also, the batteries in these things last for ages. Can’t recommend enough.
Fantastic bit of kit, plenty of things which make it highly recommendable but a few watch outs too.
Good stuff:
1. Very easy to set up and connect to the ap which is called cloudedge and is available on iOS and Android for free. Literally took 2 minutes to create the account on the ap and pair/connect to the camera.
2. Very good video and still photo quality in normal light and outstanding in pitch black as seen in my photo. The night vision is way better than I expected!
3. Supports up to 128gb micro sd. There is a cloud storage service which can be quickly enabled in the ap settings which means all captures of video or stills will be stored and accessible via the phone ap without the need for micro sd card in the camera itself. Different price plans starting at $2.99 per month. I’m in the UK and have signed up and all good.
4. The motion detection can be set up or down which is good as you can check after a few days of the camera being set up to see if you are getting too many false alarms so to speak and then you can experiment and turn down the sensitivity, which can be set to 1 for not very sensitive to 10 for very sensitive.
Watch outs:
1. The camera and ap only connect to non 5G WiFi so if you only have 5G WiFi at home it won’t work. Works flawlessly on non 5G WiFi.
2. The screws that come with it are not really ideal for robust fixing to exterior brick type walls. Would recommend masonry screws also.
3. The camera comes with a micro usb charging cable (usb a to micro usb) but it is quite short and you don’t get the power brick/plug. Probably or for the course these days to not get the charging plug, just the cable.
All in all very highly recommended superb day and night quality camera if you can live with the watch outs above.

Top Security system
Feeling much safer with this. We have had break ins before and gutted we didn’t get one sooner. I think it does scare away thieves. It was very easy to install and the picture quality is fantastic too.

Decent camera
Camera is easy to set up. The picture quality is ok (I have other cameras and I have seen better and worse than this). Intercom is ok too, but the person you are speaking to has to be close (1 or 2 meters) to the camera for you to hear them, but they can hear you quite well as the speaker is good. Wifi range is pretty good.

A brilliant camera and definitely worth the money. I would and have recommended this camera, it’s easy to install, it’s easy to set up and brilliant pictures. I will be definitely be getting another one.

I always read reviews to help me when buying but very seldom write one, but this time I have made an exception as I know how choosing the right security camera can be rather daunting. The simplicity of the setup prompted me to buy this next generation camera to cover my back garden for security and to keep my pets safe.
You can choose how sensitive you want the motion detection, the length of recording, sound etc. The live picture from this new camera is pin sharp and I know from the original camera which has been up for 6 weeks, the battery capacity hardly drops at all over that time. This new one has a larger capacity again so will last for ages. It also tells you when it does need charging which is a bonus. I can happily watch my property from my iphone or ipad and get a notification tone when anyone is approaching which is very useful for your Amazon deliveries! You can also communicate via the audio system if you want to.
Knowing you can ask their technical support for advice regardless of how silly, and they are more than happy to help is a great back up too. They answered quickly, concisely and in a way a technophobe like me could understand.
If you want a rechargeable security camera that is efficient, very robust and simple to install, feel safe in buying this one.

After being very impressed with my previous purchase I wanted another camera to monitor our driveway and cars. It was very easy to connect to connect to the app and the battery life on this new camera is brilliant. As per my previous camera from Cooau the HD images are crystal sharp and the infra-red detection is really good. What impresses me the most is the battery life at 1,500 ma/hr this will obviously last a substantial time. My other camera lasts over 3 months on a charge and the capacity is nowhere near as big as this new camera. The camera is of solid robust construction and my partner and I added it to both of our phones after finding out how to do it so that both or either of us can respond or view who is on our drive as well as at our door. We save all recordings on a 128gb card which we can download if required.

Good solid constructio
This is the 2nd Outdoor Wireless Security Camera I have from Cooau and I have just as happy with this one as the 1st one. This camera will be going out the back of the house so a little further away from the router so the twin antenna are really helpful in getting that extra range. As this camera will not be as easy to get too as the 1st one I also wanted a better battery life. Setup was just as easy and which and installing on the wall was just as quick. Once charged it was on the wall and working with in 20 mins . Picture and video quality is really good and the night vision has a decent range too. Worth the money
