While Pokmon Sword and Shield received a free update adding more ‘mon, you’ll have to send them across from Pokmon Home unless you buy this DLC. Thankfully, this is fantastic, adding two more vast wild areas to explore, full of extra Pokmon and challenges, including some new legendaries and Galarian versions of previous legendaries.
Just be wary to ensure you choose the correct version for your game, as they are not cross-compatible, unfortunately.

Important redemption information - child accounts
If you have child accounts on the switch (which don’t have access to the eShop) and the eShop is registered to your parent account then you can redeem the download code via your parent account and it is available for all accounts on the switch.
Apart from working out how to redeem it successfully it works as advertised and is available via the Amazon orders area immediately for use.

This was for my grandson from his ‘pocket money’ from us for the summer holidays and I tried to download it from my iPad to his Nintendo machine without success, mummy tried it as well without any luck.
But g’dad sat down with ‘wiz kid’ computer know all and between the two of them they got it all set up and working. He says it’s great – so it must be great as he’s into Pokemon in a big way just now. Thank you
Where’s the code?
I recently bought this product and have no idea where to find the code to actually get the expansion passes and would really appreciate a heads up on where to find it.
Research how the code works before getting it - otherwise you get an impatient child nagging! :D
My 5 year old Pokmon obsessed boy was begging for the expansion pack for a long time. Bought as Easter gift instead of
chocolate. He has had hours of fun. Well worth the money.

When u buy go to your emails. They send on a code. Your not waiting on a package from the post.. Go redeem your code nintendo switch…. Incredible! Met more than my standards as you can see my Cindrace loves being GIGANTAMAXED instead of dynamaxed.Ive been able to catch loads of legandaries by the Crown Tundra and even some Pokemon you can’t get on the normal Galar map on the Isle of Armour!
Just thought I’d come in here and say the key points for purchasing this, to help anyone who might struggle since it’s confusing. This is just my opinion and shouldn’t be taken as factual advice, go to amazon if you have a problem.
1) This is a code that gets delivered, not a physical copy of anything.
2) It is an expansion pass. You must have pokemon shield or sword already.
3) This is a pass for EITHER Pokemon Sword OR Pokemon shield, and does not cover both games if you have both.
3) Once purchased, to see the code, you must go to >Order details, >Go to Games Library. The redemption code you need is in there.
4) You must redeem the code in the NINTENDO SHOP, not within the pokemon game redeem code menu. On SWITCH, you sign into the account you want to purchase it on, >Nintendo Eshop, scroll down to >Redeem code and type it in there.
5) IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU SELECT THE RIGHT VERSION OF THE GAME FOR THE PASS. TRIPLE CHECK WHICH EDITION OF THE GAME YOU/YOUR CHILD HAS BEFORE SELECTING WHICH ONE TO REDEEM FOR. IF YOU GET IT WRONG, THE PASS WILL NOT WORK AND YOU WON’T BE REFUNDED FOR THIS MISTAKE.
6) That’s it. The game will download the extra content, and you can check it works by opening pokemon sword/shield. When you start the game, a popup will come up saying you’ve now acquired a pass.

Great gift to give to others or yourself! I love it as I’m a long time fan of Pokemon and even though I have my qualms (the animation and such) I look past that and enjoy the game and it’s dlc.
I give it 5 stars for the sheer amount of content it gives the player.
Not very pleased
Was not very happy with this purchase as it was supposed to be a birthday gift, It’s very difficult wrapping a password, so it was given early, now I have to buy something that my grandson can open on his birthday.

Quick, easy, received immediately.
Received the redemption code immediately, I went to the nintendo e store and selected “Redeem code”, put in the code and was able to download the expansion pass. You get a choice of either sword or shield. Really happy that it was easy to do.
I wish both, seller and Nintendo, would just do a proper info sheet of what’s included and how to use this pass.
You’ll need two passes if you want both Sword and Shield covered. You must redeem the code via Nintendo account, it won’t work via Pokemon game redeem code menu (this is where you can redeem your bonus clothes, but not the expansion pass), at this time you have to pick one- sword or shield and you’ll get codes for the pikachu and evee uniforms.
It wasn’t clear this won’t work before official release on 17th June after 3pm. We’ve expected it to be ready in the morning of the release date, but it wasn’t. Then found the actual time and once we opened the game it started installing an update.
I had to do a lot of Google searches and it was rather frustrating.
Hope this saves someone the headache…
The money value of this whole series is questionable. 80 for both games and another 50 for expansions. My 10 year old accomplished the tasks in the Isle of Armor in a day. But somehow is still excited and happy about the game. So guessing you just have to be Pokemon-mad enough to appreciate it!
The code came instantly after purchase via email and when entered into my Nintendo Switch, it allowed me to choose which game my DLC would be for. I chose Shield since it’s the game I have.
It seems to have worked but I can’t be for sure until it is fully released.
