Very comfortable! Shame the joy con grip that comes with the switch is not available as a stand alone product but this is a great alternative. Has rubber grips which are slightly more comfortable too

Slightly bigger than the one that came with the Switch, which makes it more comfortable for my hands.
Im a big AC fan so I was pretty excited to see a joycon grip that didn’t need stickers to decorate it. It is slightly wider than what came with my switch but I do not notice unless I hold them up to each other. The handles are very comfy! All in all I am so so glad I got this!

It works fine and serves its function but the official Nintendo accessory feels nice in my hand and fits the joycons better. Can't beat this for the price though.

Well, without much surprise, this is not as good as the official Nintendo edition. It is a solid product, but the Joy Cons do not always click in perfectly. So sometimes this can lead to the controller slipping slightly during play.

It was great for my two original controllers but the two I bought did not fit on there I had to use the ones that came with the switch but besides that the thing was really good.

A must have for any Pokémon fan! Only criticism is the lack of metal rails for the joycons to snap into because of the imprecision of plastic moulding the one side is tight to slide in and out which worry’s me for extended use. Accessibility of the buttons to release joycons is bad, they are really hard to access with man hands.

My Daughter loves this
We brought a switch at Christmas, and some extra controllers. The smaller was to hold the switch controls were not keen on and this are fab for an easier way to play, it was a present for my daughters birthday and she loved it.. both kids can play together now no fighting over who gets the big controlle
I love this. It fits into my Animal Crossing stuff. The grips are nice that’s on the handles. The problem with it is if you walk away from the switch or it goes to sleep to connect the controller again you have to have it directly point at the switch. I noticed that sometimes you have to adjust how your holding it for different buttons. With the controller that you originally get with the switch it’s not like this.

Nice rubberized grips
I would say this version from PowerA is slightly better than the official version from Nintendo due to the rubberized grips, which as just plastic on the original.
It fits the controllers and is sturdy. The only reason I’m giving it four stars is because one of the handles won’t stay clicked in. So in fighting games it will slide up as I’m hitting the buttons.

Super cute grip alternative
I really like the design. The shape is slightly wider than the original grip that comes with the Switch and it also has a rubberized backing.
The sliders where the controllers attach is plastic rather than metal so it doesn’t click as firmly but I have had no problems with this so far, while not as firm it’s still not loose.
The plastic is lower quality than the original too, but overall I prefer this design for its looks and comfort.
It’s super adorable and brings me huge amounts of joy when I play the switch but my only complaint is the bumpers have a bit of a wide gap from the grip and can trip up my game play and another con is sadly it seems like one of the sides is broken cause when I play one of my joycons tend to slip out easily or doesn’t really lock down.

Definitely recommend!
Love it. Literally use it everyday. I find it much easier to use this than the handheld version of the switch. It’s comfortable, perfectly sized for me, love the design and colour. If they made a version of this that could be charged, I’d love that instead of having to remove the joycons but that’s just being picky! Definitely recommend! I think I’ll be getting another one once I have another set of Joycons too.

As comfortable as other similar controllers by Nintendo. The design on the controller is fun, bright, and a great addition to any animal crossing gaming collection.
My only issue is that you can’t attach your joycons to the controller if they have a protective skin on. You have to remove the cover first for them to fit the controller.
I wish this came in more colours.
Does what it says on the tin! It holds the joy cons. It’s not as comfortable as the pro controller but when I’m travelling I don’t want to lug several controllers! It won’t charge the joycons but if you put them back on the console and charge up overnight its not an issue. Very handy.

This is a no-brainer since it's half the price of the Nintendo-branded grip. It's also wider and larger so it actually feels more comfortable and ergonomic. As others have mentioned, the rails for the Joy-Cons are plastic rather than metal. And the left side feels tighter than normal. That said, I've no regrets and would gladly purchase this again.

Die Materialauswahl ist etwas “billiger” als beim Original. Im Besonderen ist der Schlitten zum Einklinken der Controller um einiges einfacher gestaltet. Er ist nur aus Kunststoff ausgefhrt und nicht aus Metall, wodurch die JoyCons ggf. nicht ganz so fest sitzen. In der Praxis merkt man das aber nicht. Das Design ist allerdings ausgeklgelter, wodurch diese Version etwas besser in der Hand liegt als der Griff von Nintendo. Zu dem ist die Haptik durch eine Beschichtung der Griffrckseiten besser. Daher wrde ich wieder zu diesem Modell greifen. Klare Empfehlung!

This is a lot more comfortable to use than the standard one you get with the switch. The pattern is adorable and fits in with the colours of my controllers a lot better than the black. My only issue is the release buttons are a little more awkward to press.
It is really comfy and just feels nice, the only reason why I don’t give it five stars is because the color of Isabelle and the colorful background don’t pop off as much as they do in the image. Still is an AMAZING Joy con grip, but I wish Isabelle would not get lost in the background because she does not pop out with her color.

Les dire mi ms sincera opinin, muchos estn comparando calidad con el original, seamos honestos, obviamente no va a ser la misma calidad pero desde mi punto de vista cumple su funcin. Fue un regalo para mi novia y la verdad quedo fascinada el producto. Los controles entran sin ningn problema en esta edicin o modelo (animal crossing). En cuestin de entrega me llego un da antes. La caja vino sin ningn tipo de golpe o dao.
Por mi parte no me queda ms que recomendar este producto.

Absolutely adore this! Looks amazing with my Animal Crossing joy-cons which is why I wanted it! My only complaint is that its a bit bulkier than the regular joy-con holder, so it doesn’t fit into my carry case, but I can work around that! Amazing quality and I recommend it! Easier on the hands than the regular joy-con holder!
This is a really nice controller. I like the rubber backing on the handles it adds some nice texture and grip while playing. The animal crossing print is a nice feature and looks well made. My only complaint would be the led lighting could be alittle more bright to see. Overall a nicely made controller that I'm glad to have.

I was a little apprehensive to buy when reading other reviews about the left track not fitting well and the controller popping out.
1. It is true that the left side is not as easy to slide in as the right. Without much force, if you wiggle the controller, you’ll find the sweet spot and it slides in fine.
Note: from my limited experience with the brand name grip, I have to do the same wiggle trick as I find it tight
2. As for the controller popping out. As of right now, it locks fine. Will update if I start experiencing the issue
Great for Pokémon fans
We have a second set of Joy-Cons, so having a second grip made sense. How could I say ‘no’ to Pikachu then? The grip has a nice rubberised feel on its underside. I find the shape of the grip at the top interferes a little with the ZL and ZR buttons, or at least confused my fingers, but I’m the only one in the family who finds that.

It’s not the same joy con grip that comes packed in with your console, but it’s not too far off from it. It’s sturdy and durable and a bit more comfy than the one that comes packed in. But it is officially licensed by Nintendo (but made by Power A). The only major difference here being that the rail your joy cons slide into are plastic, as opposed to metal in the joy con grip that comes packed with the console, but it has no impact on gameplay. Durability might be a concern, but given the price, I wouldn’t worry too much. You can buy this with confidence, no issues here at all.

Does the job
To be perfectly clear, this is a piece of plastic with no electronics in it what-so-ever.
The “Lights” on the front are light-housed through from the joycons with reflective plastic.
That being said, if all you need is a way to better grip your joycons, it does that perfectly.
Nothing special, doesn’t have to be.

This is slightly larger than the grip that is included with the switch and also feels nicer to holder. One minor issue that I’ve found is that the release button on the joy cons are not easy to use and makes them difficult to remove.

Solid (and cheaper) alternative to the offical grip
This feels of very similar quality to the official Nintendo grip that came with the Switch; it’s pretty solid and the Joy-Cons fit perfectly. The red is a bit of an acquired taste, but for the price I’m more than happy.

Makes playing games much easier as we mostly play connected to the TV, and growing up I’d always use similar types of control pads so it’s more comfortable this way.

Very nice in the hand, good rubber grip to it which feels much better than other products, only one slight nit-picking thing making it not 5 star, and it’s just the joycons have a bit of resistance sliding on. Brilliant product, very good for the price, would definitely recommend!

Works very similarly to the official grip from Nintendo. Added rubber grips on the back help with immersive gameplay. One downside is that the buttons to release the joy-cons are slightly harder to press, however it does mean that the Joy-cons sit firmly in place within the grip, there is little chance they would be able to be removed. Overall, excluding the rubber grip, there is little visual difference or feel between this and the official Nintendo version and provides the exact same experience for a lower price. Would highly recommend.

A more comfortable alternative to the original grip
I bought this as a “guest grip” for friends to use. However, I personally find it comfier to hold than the original grip produced by Nintendo.
An extra benefit is that I can look like a gracious host when I give them “the actual grip”.

Needs slight improveme
Back feels great but the left joy con feel hard to put in and the right one feels to easy but once fitted it feels great with the rubber finish on the back.
Good quality controller grip
This product is not the exact same as the grip you get with the switch, but I think it’s possibly better. the shape is better and it has rubber surface on the rear. Other people have complained that the shape gets in the way of the rear triggers on the joy cons but I don’t see any issue, there’s plenty of clearance for the triggers and it’s comfortable to hold when not requiring the triggers. If anything I would say the shape gets in the way of the joy con release buttons, but not to the extend that it’s difficult to remove them.
My joycons fit into this controller perfectly and sit nicely.
Make a portable controller grip
This did feel nice, chunkier than the original Switch grip (I prefer the original).
However, I only wanted the middle piece so I removed the grips using a screwdriver. This makes the middle piece great as a travel grip that takes up very little room!
More comfortable than the original. BUT...
For someone with bigger than average hands, this is a much better fit for me. In all honesty, this grip is probably the closest you can get to the feel of the Pro controller. The rubber padding at the bottom of the grip is also pretty nice. However, I advise you to be careful when you insert and remove the joycons from this grip as they lack the rubber padding on the edges where the joycons attach. Carelessness can result in some scuffs on the joycon, other than that, it’s a great little comfort grip and I recommend it.

It’s so much easier having one of these each, it’s nice to have a real feeling controller in your hands rather than sharing a piece of one. Fits comfortably in the hand

This makes such a difference to your joycon controllers. While the official one is okay, this is so much more comfortable and as long as you are comfortable playing games with the Joycons, this is a cheaper alternative to buying a rediculously priced pro controller. Only small gripe is that one joycon slides down very easily, the other joycon requires a but of a push

Plastic rails and it clashes with red Joy-Cons
Update: After two years, this grip continues to function as expected. I’m still a bit disappointed in the lack of heft and the mismatched coloring, but it functions well for what it is. I’ve added a star to my rating to reflect this.
(This is specifically for the red grip. The others may be different.)
1. The Joy-Con grip that comes with the Switch has metal tracks that connect to the Joy-Cons. This one has plastic tracks that feel and look cheaper. Maybe they’ll stand up just as well in the long run, but I’ll have to see.
2. The red of this grip DOES NOT match the red Joy-Cons that are available to buy. They clash pretty badly. The grip does look okay with the gray/black Joy-Cons, so it’s not a complete loss.

This grip is better then the original. The rubber back helps with sweating fingers during long play sessions. Look good with the Mario Red joy-cons and grey joy-cons.

Perfect little pad, dare i say better than the original as it’s rubber like coated instead of smooth plastic so easier to hold and not as sweaty. For the price it’s perfect, not genuine Nintendo but built under licence so almost an exact copy
Not a bad product, but a little cheap. I wouldn’t have minded paying a few dollars more for the original, but it seems they do not sell it anymore, anywhere.
Differences from the one that came with the switch (do they now include this one in the newer switches?)

-Due to design it is harder to press the release buttons on joycons once placed on grip
-The back grip is rough instead of smooth (this is actually a plus for me, and seems to be the only pro versus original)
Considering the price and that is has yet to fail, I don’t think it warrants less than 4 stars. I’ll update the review if it breaks or causes damage to the joycons.

I actually find this controller more comfortable to use than the Nintendo version.
I actually find this controller more comfortable to use than the Nintendo version. The rubberised grips prevents sweaty hands from slipping and the controller is slightly longer making it better for bigger hands.
Works like a charm. I find it more comfortable than the one you get with the switch, thanks to the “gripping coating”. In the attached picture, the one you get with the Switch at the top, and this one at the bottom. The joy-cons are NOT included, you need to buy them separately.

Bought this to match my Mario red joycons, which unfortunately does not – it’s more of neon red/orange. I got this on sale for 5 so can’t argue with that price, but if I’d have paid anymore I probably would have returned as it looks cheap.

This product does its job perfect. However why do the call it red when it is orange?
Great addition to the game.
Perfect compliment to the game. Not so big my seven year old can’t use it and easily big enough for my turn. If I can ever get one. Comments about the button release don’t present a problem for me and my somewhat large hands.
I love the grips on the back, and the actual product feels sturdy. There is however a block on the back that gets in the way of your fingers as it’s not flush with the joy cons like an official adapter. (See images)

Nice simple black plastic grip for your joy cons. They easily slide in and the product feels secure and of high quality. Very useful for 1 player games, played like a PS4 or Xbox 1 but you get the most out of the Switch when using the Joy Cons without this grip. Bought this for the mario limited edition joy cons. The colour doesn’t match perfectly but still it’s a very nice grip
After much deliberation, as ideally I’d have liked the same grip as came with the Switch, I decided to go with this one. I’m pleased to say that I am very happy with it. The rubbery handles make the unit feel more secure to hold. Apart from that the only real difference is that the cut-out for the button you press to release the joy-con is very slightly smaller, making it a tiny bit more awkward to press.
Only reservation I have is that the runners where you slide the joy-cons into it are made of plastic so wonder if they may wear quicker over time. At the moment they slide in very smoothly so I don’t think it’ll be an issue.
I plumped for the black unit, simply because for some reason it’s cheaper! Would have been nice to have a red one but what’s the point?

Comfortable, but doesn’t fit into the larger case due to the slots being for the standard grip.
The controller grip gets the job done at a decent savings. This grip is an officially licensed Nintendo accessory manufactured by a third party. Nothing at all wrong with this, I’ve been buying third party accessories since the original NES launched. The grip tracks that the Joy-Cons slide into are plastic, not a metal track like the one sold by Nintendo. I am giving this a 4 star review because the grip serves its purpose however, there is one flaw. I feel there is a bit of a flaw with the design tolerance with left Joy-Con track. The left track is a snug fit (after a few days of removing/inserting it is loosening up) and takes a bit of effort to insert and remove the left Joy-Con. The right slides right in and out with very little effort while still keeping the controller locked in place. I like this much better than the Nintendo version. Is the tight fit worth returning or not buying? No, I’d buy another if I needed another grip because the grip still works and it saved me a few dollars.

Brilliant additio
Fantastic quality. If you’re thinking this feels the same as the comfort grip you get with the switch, this one is better. The grips are sculpted to feel a lot like the Dualshock 4 controller, so it’s a bit more comfortable than usual.

This is absoluterly fantastic for what it is! The price is brilliant and the product is superb! I can’t recommend it enough, my wife and I both have said it’s better than the official original! The grip on this is 100% better and it just feels more steady, premium and better to hold! Top job!

In use, you really don’t notice whether you are using the official Nintendo grip that comes with the Switch or this one.

Really good item. Kids liked this to play their games. Keeps controllers tidy too
Compared to the default Joycon grip, this product makes several compromises and several improvements on the original design.
Cons:
>Plastic feels cheaper than the regular grip
>Lights on the face are dimmer and slightly misted.
>The rails that the joycons slide into are plastic not metal, making the sliding action less smooth and the click into place less satisfying.
>It feels like the shape of the grip makes it slightly harder to rest your fingers on the ZL and ZR buttons due to the angle of the joycons, your fingers want to slide off.
Pros:
>Rubberised texture on the back of the handles makes them easier to hold.
>Ever so slightly wider and more ergonomic shape makes the grip nicer to hold than the regular grip.
>Excellent price point compared to the alternative of buying a Charging grip from Nintendo.
If you need a second grip for your joycon controllers then don’t hesitate to pull the trigger on buying this product, however if you’re looking for a better grip for your personal joycons, then perhaps the difference between this and the regular grip isn’t quite worth buying another grip for.
The previous reviewer got confused thinking this was a product by Nintendo, but don’t let that put you off as the Joy-Con Comfort Grip is a officially licensed Switch product by Power A. Get the cons out the way first, not as nice looking plastic as the official Joy-Con grip that comes included with the Switch. Also the rails that the Joy-Cons slide into are plastic and not metal like the official Joy-Con grip.
Now on to the pros, the back of the handles have a different shape to them than the official Nintendo Joy-Con grip. It’s alot more comfortable to rest your fingers on, and the back of the handles also have a rubberised grip unlike the slippy plastic of the official Nintendo Joy-Con grip. Definitely worth the low price, has made long Switch gaming sessions more easy on my hands.
I’ve included some comparison pictures so you will be able to see what i mean by the different shape at the back of the handles. My Power A Comfort Grip has the grey Joy-Cons and my Nintendo grip has the neon red Joy-Cons.
