About your Russell Hobbs microwave
Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.
Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.
Cleaning:
Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.

Avoiding Mishaps
To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:
Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)
– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.
High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)
– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.
Foods containing alcohol
– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.
Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)
– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.

I have been using the previous model for quite some time. I don’t need much functionality for microwaive. This is a relatively small size and simple one. I usually only use the quick 30 second start button.

One evening I had a few too many beers. I decided to whack some popcorn in my new microwave for 2 minutes, this would have been an ideal timing in any other microwave. However my this microwave has the heating power of the sun, NASA can stop trying to figure out nuclear fusion and just use my microwave instead.
In roughly 45 seconds of microwaving, my popcorn had spontaneously combusted. At first, inebriated me thought that the light had come on to signal my popcorn was ready. It was only when the flames started licking out of the door opening I realised my peril.
Long story short, I managed to extinguish the flames before they became a serious issue and have a new found respect for microwaving and the dangers it can present.
This is a fantastic microwave, even after the fire the damage was minimal, the whole thing didn’t set alight, it was easy to clean and it is still functioning to this day.
My advice would be to be very cautious when first using this microwave, and take at least 30 seconds off of any cooking/microwaving times. (and buy a fire blanket/extinguisher safety and all that)
Other than that, thoroughly, thoroughly recommend!

looking for a new microwave for my elderly mother and saw this at half price delivered. a very good looking product which was easy to set up however If I have one gripe it is that just to run on a time setting (as this is all we use) having to set the power every time before being able to set runtime, but this doe not deflect from a very good product at a fantastic price
Good and practical small Microwave
We had liked our previous Russell Hobbs microwave, which had begun to develop rust after many years daily use. This one is similar, and easy to control with single-button 30 secs timer which you can press multiple times to get 1 min, 2 mins, 3 1/2 mins etc. Or you can set an exact time and a preferred reduced power setting with a few simple button presses. … N.B. We had to send back the first one that came, the lamp only lasted 3 days and cannot be replaced by non-technicians. We re-ordered another microwave of the same model. Amazon credited us OK under guarantee for the first one, and its (free) return by collection was arranged by them OK.

Great looking microwave with an annoying usability glitch
It’s a great looking microwave, a little on the small side, with a handy set of programs and easy to use controls. What spoils it unfortunately is the nonsensical knob control. Sensible would be anticlockwise for programs and clockwise for timer. For some reason it’s the wrong way round on this microwave with clockwise accessing the preset programs and anticlockwise the timer. Not the end of the world except the timer starts at 90 mins. You have to keep turning for some time to get to 5 mins (the normal time for most heating). You can turn the knob anticlockwise to open the timer then immediately clockwise to start at zero but it’s irritating and completely counterintuitive. This spoils what otherwise would be a great microwave.
Right Colour Cream!
I had bought a Morphy Richards kettle & toaster set, then found they didn’t do a matching colour microwave. So this was really bought for the colour match. It is easy to use if you read the instructions first! Looks smart & is a pretty good match to my other items. I couldn’t believe how many different creams there were when I started my search.

We purchased this microwave as a replacement for our old warhorse of a unit which finally gave up after many years. Admittedly we are only very occasional users of a microwave, with baked beans, jacket potatoes and the defrost function being our main uses. This unit was surprisingly compact and fits perfectly under our cupboard on the kitchen work surface. The unit appears compact but on inspection still perfectly fits our tommee tippee steriliser that we had already purchased for use with the old unit. The digital dial takes some getting used to as you must start at the large numbers and turn down to get to the more common one and two minute timings however the build quality is great and this can be done in no time at all. The only downside to this unit is the admittedly lush mirrored door which becomes marked in the kitchen environment with the slightest touch and we find ourselves constantly wiping this over as a result, but that may only be an issue for those with an obsessive streak like myself and shouldn’t deter you from purchasing this, especially at such a competitive price when lined up against the competitio

It’s a nice product but my dinner plates that fit easily into my old microwave are too big and get caught and don’t rotate. Other than that all the buttons are fairly easy to use. Nice colour.

An excellent small kitchen microwave
I have been using this microwave for some months now and remain very impressed. It is stylish, inexpensive to run and does everything that I want of a microwave. It may not satisfy cordon bleu cooks but I am not one of those and I have no hesitation in giving a 5* rating for looks, simplicity and ease of cleaning.

The right colour for our kitche
This was an identical replacement. The previous microwave lasted 4 years with relatively light use. We like the 30 second time increments. Sounds quite tinny when you shut the door. We bought the same again to match our other kitchen gadgets (toaster, kettle, tassimo coffee maker). The colour was more in important than the functions, however, I find it easy to use.

Very atractive metallic red finish. This is protected with plastic film that is fairly difficult to remove but well worth it when the superb gloss surface is revealed. Good power rating at 800W. There is a button which gives a 30sec cook time for every press – excellent for cooking porridge. Also comprehensive programming if you can be bothered. definitely recommend this product.

Saved the Day
This is a direct replacement for my broken Micro wave and it performs just as I expected with no problems. I would recommend this product to anyone.
I am not a big fan of Microwave ovens, but with my daughter working odd hours, I had to give in. This is fine. It does it job, which in my case is simply reheating a meal I cooked earlier. I don’t want it for cooking a complete meal etc… The only drawback in my mind is the mirror finish door which is a nighmare to keep clean. When it is polished it looks great,but touch the door……..

Otherwise easy to use and looks quite smart.
Oh and the tray keeps popping out the holder when you take stuff out, but then most microwaves have the same problem I find. Still 4 stars, which is fine so buy it.

I’ve been using this microwave for about a month and I think this is a really nice one!
It’s just about the right size for me, but might seem petite for others, of the red colour to match my Russell Hobbs kettle and does its job quite well. We cook a lot at home, so we have to re-heat our meal on a daily basis.
I like the simple clock – can see it across the room.
I think it might be a bit of overpriced (around 65), as before I bought it, I’d done some research, and 40 seems a fair price tag for this Russell Hobbs. I didn’t mind paying extra, because I like the exterior.

Matched our other red appliances perfectly
We bought this as we have other dark red metallic appliances and utensils in our kitchen. This looked sleek and gorgeous and matched really well. It arrived when expected and works perfectly. We use it often in our house and still looks great.
We’re not big microwave users. Bought this as replacement influenced largely by colour and depth. It works fine but I find teh controls a tad fiddly and the internal dimensions a little less generous than anticipated.
Still – it does everything we ask of it, prompt delivery, reasonable price and looks well in our kitchen (we like to think).
absolutely love this microwave. So easy to use and hardly needed to read the instructions to understand it. I never bother to weigh foods and programme accordingly as I set it on Defrost 2 and often change the items position. Cooks and heats perfectly. Some of the sleek brushed steel ones have buttons that are so subtle you need to be at the right angle holding a magnifying glass to see the number on the button (slight exaggeration). This is easy to see/use and because my tiles are cream it blends in perfectly.
After careful consideration as alot of these Amazon reviews claim their microwave almost blew up I was abit sceptical. But my microwave has been fine! The different setting for reheating/defrosting I haven’t learnt so I just put everything in for varied time without adjusting the specific micropower. But works fine! Looks small but fits everything my 24L fitted.

Chose the Russel Hobbs microwave for its colour mainly, most of the other cream coloured ones were manual as opposed to digital. On reflection I would have preferred a handle to open the door with rather than the push button method.(felt a little like Arkwrights till at first from “Open all hours”) Other than that the controls are similar to my old Kenwood microwave, easy to use but mostly never to be used as I only use it for basic things! Its a nice looking thing, neat and tidy, instructions are good. the price was good. Whats not to like about it!

Very good value for money. It’s easy to use and works perfectly. One note: my previous microwave had a function that allowed me to use it as a timer without actually running the microwave, and this one doesn’t (so if you want to use the timer, you have to be cooking something in it, basically). Not an issue, I just got myself a kitchen timer, but a heads up for those who want it.
The one-way mirror effect on the door is a really nice touch, and makes it look smarter than most when not in use. I also like that it isn’t black, white or beige. It’s got plenty of functions that I don’t actually use, but it does exactly what I want, efficiently. All in all, I much prefer it to my previous microwave, which was twice the price but didn’t work nearly as well.

Great microwave – we have ours nearly 10 months and have had no issues. Settings are good and easy to use and the mircowave itself is easy to clean. Smart/Simplistic design goes nicely with our kitchen. Only thing to note – do not store anything on top of the mircowave and allow for plenty of breathing room as the top can become hot when if use for a few minutes or defrosting.
eally good microwave. there were a few negative reviews, but we have had no problems in the month we have had it so far. it cooks beautifully, and although the defrost setting takes a little longer because it only defrosts on 30% power level, it defrosts more evenly because of this. some reviews say about it going rusty inside, but as long as you wipe any splatters or condensation with a piece of kitchen roll after each use, and then leave the door open for a few minutes to make sure it is completely dry, there seems to be no problem. well worth the money and would definitely recommend.
Excellent Microwave
I purchased this microwave as part of the warehouse deals with Amazon to match a red Russel Hobbs Kettle and Toaster I had recently purchased. With the warehouse deals I got it for just over 40.00 and it was only the damaged box. It came with a microwave plate and the instructions. I think it is really easy to use. Mainly I use the top two buttons.. For normal microwave function you push power and select the power level, press start then turn the dial for the time and press start . I can warm up a a can of baked beans in 2 minutes on power setting 100. This is good as you can warm up something slower. I then use the weight time defrost button on the top right. This to me is sort of guess work. I turn it up to 1 or 2 and then it defrosts for a few minutes and it gives me the opportunity to check it. It is easy to clean – the front is mirrored which does get obviously marked, but again its easily cleaned. I think it is really simple to use and is really powerful. Really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend to someone looking for a microwave (worth looking to see if ones available on the warehouse deals as well as I got mine nearly 30 pounds off for the box being damaged (although sometimes they are returns etc so its touch and go what you will get.
An excellent Microwave but the Gimmick can Frustrate You
I am very pleased with the efficiency and working of this microwave. It does everything a microwave cab be expected to do. I cannot see the value of the mirror door that can be seen thrrough but only with great difficulty in daylight and contrasting darkness when used later in the day. This imposes a certain frustration when you need to, for example, watch the milk does not boil over.

Stunning design with a very lovely mirror like touch on the door. Easy to use and not confusing at all. However the reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the microwave is a lot smaller then we thought and so the dinner plates would not fit in the microwave. However because we like it so much we are just going to have to buy smaller dinner plates.

I Can Watch Telly Again!
What can I say? It’s a microwave. It heats things up.
It’s easy to use and we haven’t had any problems so far (3 months?).
Perhaps most importantly, unlike our old microwave, it doesn’t interfere with my telly!!!! If I’d known that I’d have sabotaged the old one years ago!
OK, it’s a bit smaller than our old one and our (standard sized?) dinner plates only just about fit, but they do fit.

Amazingly this is the same model as i had previously but purchased from tesco.first one arrived dented on top and replaced but new one would leave alot of water at bottom after cooking so would have to wipe to dry hence paint work interior started to flake and rust after a year.i have ordered this same model via amazon and its like a totally different micro in operation,brilliant no water! This is an easy to use basic micro wave oven. The functions of the controls are simple to grasp and I like the one click for 30 seconds of full power or multiple clicks to add 30 second increments. For longer periods of cooking time the twist control at the bottom gives simple setting. It is also easy to select lower heat settings and defrost times. The oven seems well made with positive door closing and smart appearance. All in all a basic kitchen micro wave at a modest cost.
Adequate & cheap
Works okay albeit a bit ‘tacky’ in regard to the build of the turnstile and its mount. Cheap and cheerful would explain it but it looks nice and is easy to operate. The only real bugbear I have is that the led display is very bright and undimmable and shows the time when it is off but other than that it will suffice as a back up to my more expensive ‘Sharp’ microwave..
Have bought many RH products before this was perfect for our kitchen size colour price and basically suits our needs. The oven offers a good combination of settings, and seems quite powerful, so take time to try and experiment when heating up meals you may need less time than your old machine, for example to reheat a meal that’s been in a fridge like say a Sunday roast the next day then 3 minutes and it should be steaming hot, or a bowl of porridge will take a minute then stir and another minute and it’s ready after a a short while to cool down. Very impressed good value and looks good, and hopefully will last near 5 years like our old one did.

I bought the matching kettle and toaster to this and love the set as a whole. The colour is gorgeous and so far it has functioned perfectly. I like that the power output can be varied and the digital display. There are more usage options than with some microwaves and I have yet to utilise them all but I hope to do so. It looks sleek and modern yet has a retro edge which is fitting into the shabby chic deisgn that I am building in my kitchen. The mirror effect finish on the door has proven useful too!
Light stays on.
Lovely smart microwave. Just a shame interior light stays on whenever the door is open as I like to banish smells by leaving door open but it gets hot! Also the User guide needs updating. After 6 months the interior light has blown. Very disappointed as I have never had this happen before. Also large amounts of condensation- pools of water- appear under the glass dish and drip from top of door. Is this normal?

Love this microwave. It is classy and stylish. A gorgeous red colour which mstches my other morphy richards appliances and accessories. Easy to set up and use. Good instruction booklet. Easy to clean. Good power setting and timers. My only criticism isnthst theninside dimentions are slightly smaller than other 20 litre ovens I have had and my rice steamer just barely fits inside making it fiddly to put in and out. If you have a containernyou use all the time I suggest you measure it and check it will fit (I didn’t ) or buy a smaller container. Ha.ha

Much cheaper than our existing one, which we are changing out, just because we have had it for eight years.
Fingers crossed that it is as good as initial experience.
I Purchased direct from Amazon at about two thirds of the 18.01.2015 advertised price, so my comments relate to that supplier and price!!!.
Good price, trusted brand, middle of the road Microwave.
Arrived Quickly but the Packaging was Damaged, but was only the box once opened. Attractive looking unit but the mirrored front glass, although very nice, attracts every finger print, smear and smudge imaginable and is a pain to clean. Other than that ITS A MICROWAVE!! All the functions and features work as you would expect, heats quickly, the interior is easy to clean, electric draw is not particularly high for a microwave (according to our smart metre courtesy ala BR###SH G#S), on the downside the power flex is a tad on the short side so it needs to be quite close to a socket.
In summary: Good price, trusted brand, middle of the road Microwave, mirrored front glass is a pain to keep clean.

First one delivered didn’t work,but amazons great customer service picked it up and replaced it immediately. Lovely looking little unit that is almost Tardis like (fits in more than you’d think) super fast heating of food,quiet operation,nice on work top. Condensation on opening heated oven was odd,but simply putting a single piece of kitchen roll under the placate eliminates that. Simply put,it’s a brilliant microwave at a great price.

The first microwave arrived on Tuesday but when we unpacked it it was really dented on the top and misshapen at the side.
I contacted Amazon who arranged for it to be picked up next day by Courier and ordered a replacement. Literally a case of “out with the old and in with the new” as no sooner had the Courier picked it up the next day half an hour later the new one arrived. What service, was very impressed indeed.
Microwave is small, which is what I wanted but does look very nice indeed in my new kitchen. Haven’t used it yet but will be doing so very soon.

Another good product from a good solid company. Once you get used to the working of this microwave (which took 5 mins)
it does everything you could ask of it. It looks great with it’s mirror finish front panel which accents the deep red lustre colour of the unit
it adds a little something extra to the kitchen.

A lovely little microwave just as ordered works well looks well co-ordinates well with other kitchenalia In my kitchen have found all my Russell Hobbs items to be trustworthy and reliable hopefully this will be no different look forward to a good machine with a decent lifespan. The finish of the oven looks to be first class. Was a little nervous with reference to some of the reviews stating that it was difficult to set the timer for cooking. If you refer to the instructions, I found them to be straightforward, and a joy to use. My wife enjoys using this oven, and it does all we need, and it is although small, its ideal for 2 persons.
