I have a good selection of ryobi tools so batteries are not an issue and this thing needs good batteries. I did a hours chopping logs of around 4″ to 6″ and it was great creating little waste thanks to the thin blade. The power was adequate and as long as you let the saw do the work and don’t expect petrol power levels or try and push it through the wood you will be please with the results. For those complaining it doesn’t have a brake, yours is broken! Mine will not work without the brake in the correct position so no chance of starting it by accident. Replacement blades are available on amazon. I like ryobi tools but have never purchased ryobi chains, blades etc. Never had any issues with the after market stuff.

Chainsaw stopped working after first use
I bought this Ryobi chainsaw for trimming tree branches in the garden. The first saw failed to start with any of my 5Ah original Ryobi batteries that work well on several other Ryobi tools. The saw was very quickly replaced by Amazon with another saw that had obviously been used before. The replacement saw cuts very well and is easy to handle. Less powerful but safer than a corded or petrol chain saw.

I was a bit dubious about this chainsaw before purchase as a couple of the reviews said that it would struggle with branches and trees much bigger than 4 inches in diameter, and I thought I might be making a mistake buying it only to end up with a toy chainsaw not much use for anything. I’m happy to say that this is not the case. I’ve been using this to to cut down weed trees on my land, some with trunks of 1ft (30inches in diameter) and its been zipping through them with no trouble (OK a little technique had to be exercised with angle and number of cuts, but it wasn’t difficult). When I consider what I would have paid for a tree surgeon this great little tool has paid for itself already. Battery life seems pretty reasonable too…hard to quantify casually…. but I’d say you could cut down 6-10 trees of 6-12 inch diameter on a single 4.0AH charged battery. Its not a pro forestry saw but for light work don’t hesitate to buy it in my view

Great for cutting up firewood. Lightweight and easy to start, just pull the trigger and go. No messing about with petrol and 2 stroke oil. Works well on 10″ thick hardwood logs.

Niedlich kleine Sge 🙂 Hab noch eine Stihl 441. Zum Entasten oder mal was im Garten ist sie sehr gut. Angenehm leise, leicht, handlich. Akku hlt ausreichend lange. Hab noch 2 Ersatzakkus. Klare Kaufempfehlung
s surpris de cette trononneuse, lgre, bien quilibr, la puissance quivaut une 1000 watts filire. niveau batterie, pensez en acheter deux pour une dure de 45 mins max. Habitu au sthil thermique et grosse trononneuse j’apprcie son poids plume, voir la rsistance dans le temps. Mais plus de galre au dmarrage et entretient. Conso huile de chane normale. Seule bmol la chane c’est du chewing-gum… r-aiguis la machine et j’ai tout de suite vue la pauvret de la matire…

Needed to pollard a lime tree. This saw made light work of the job. So much so that I reduced the larger limbs. It went with ease through 8 inch trunks albeit slowly. The battery lasted about 20 mins which was enough. I am delighted with this product. Easy to assemble and use.

Die Ryobi ist in meiner fast tglichen Arbeit in meinem kleinen Wldchen nicht mehr wegzudenken. Krftig und ausdauernd, die 5.0 Ah Akkus. Auch robust. Gleich am Anfang ist sie mir aus dem Regal aus 1,5 m Hhe auf Beton gefallen, und sie hat den Absturz unbeschadet berstanden, bis auf einen Riss in der Schutzhlle, die man auf die Kette schiebt. Also sehr empfehlenswert!

I have mainly all Ryobi cordless tools and I have to say this chainsaw is fantastic. Chopped down an old fruit tree that had died effortlessly. I considered getting a petrol one but after buying the Royobi hedge trimmer (also fantastic) I decided to go electric on the saw too. I have a Tanaka strimmer with changeable shafts and the Ryobi cordless is just so much less of a mess about.
Seriously if you need a smaller handy no messing about chainsaw buy this adjustment is a a breeze. I also bought a bottle of chain oil and a sharpening file to keep it running nice.

Great bit of kit, cuts well, is lightweight and alot less noise. My only small gripe is that the hand grip does not go around the body far enough to maake horizontal cut comfortable.
Overall five stars definitely recomend this tool.

Ottimo prodotto. Nonostante a batteria fa bene il suo lavoro. Ovviamente da utilizzare su alberi di piccole dimensioni. Ma anche i diametri di 20 cm vengono tagliati agevolmente. Facile da montare e da pulire. Consigliato
Non sono un esperto. Usata per potare alberi di ulivo ha fatto egregiamente il suo lavoro. Rumorosit ridotta al minimo. Una volta lasciato il pulsante si ferma in un brevissimo lasso di tempo rendendola sicura. Usata con batterie da 5 A la durata abbastanza lunga.

Amazing power for a cordless chainsaw, easy to use and perfect for tree trimming and wood cutting jobs around the garden. I would recommend the 5.0Ah battery for this item which lasted me all afternoon, before I had to switch the battery.

Please remember that although it is a battery chainsaw it’s still a very dangerous piece of kit if used incorrectly, just as dangerous as a petrol one. That said, it is really useful to use up a ladder, no more pull starting. I can’t say what the long term view will be but it is covered by a 3 year warranty. I would recommend this product especially if you already own tools in the Ryobi one+ range.

Surprisingly powerful saw. It’s bit flimsy and overall build quality is not great, but it was to be expected. With 2x5Ah batteries you can do about the same, as with small chainsaw, with one tank.
If you need small, quiet and still capable chainsaw for minor or random tasks, then this is saw for you.

Good in an emergency
Great wee chainsaw. I only had the two small batteries which did not last long . I now have the bigger battery , hopefully that will do the job. This is for small jobs , clear the road if tree falls which happens a lot . This is not for large trees but it does work well.

Die Wahl fiel auf Ryobi, weil ich schon einige Gerte und damit auch einige Akkus dieses Herstellers besitze und mit Zufriedenheit benutze.
Die zu krzenden Holzstmme waren etwa armdick. Das leistete diese Sge souvern. Beim Arbeiten sollte man nicht zu stark drcken, weil sonst der eingebaute berlastungsschutz wirkt und die Sge abschaltet.
Sie ist leicht und liegt gut in der Hand.
Diese Akku – Sge ist natrlich nicht mit einer Benzin – Motorsge vergleichbar.
Die Leistung ist geringer und die Drehzahl ist langsamer. Daher eignet sie sich halt nur fr kleinere Arbeiten, drfte aber den Ansprchen der meisten Gartenbesitzer gerecht werden. Stammdicken von bis zu 10 cm, drfte die Sge meistern. Aufgrund der geringeren Drehzahl, ist halt die Schnittgeschwindigkeit etwas langsamer.
Die Inbetriebnahme und das Einlegen der Sgekette waren problemlos. Sehr praktisch ist, dass der Kettenwechsel ohne Werkzeuge mglich ist. Ersatzketten habe ich mir im Fnferpack bestellt. Den Preis von ca. 10 pro Kette halte ich fr recht gnstig. Auch das Zerlegen nach den Arbeiten, zwecks Reinigung der Sge, war problemlos.
Wer grere Bume fllen und fr Brennholz groe Stammdicken sgen mchte, sollte sich fr eine deutlich leistungsfhigere Benzin Motorsge entscheiden. Fr kleinere bis mittlere Sgearbeiten ist diese weniger
pflege- und wartungsaufwndigere Akku-Maschine ausreichend.

Nanmoins pour de petites coupe (max 10x8cm) , pour de la petite charpente, du bricolage bois non intense, du petit lagage, o on travaille pas trop, elle est parfaite, car pas lourde, une femme peu l’utiliser.
J’ai une batterie pas de la marque, bien moins chre, 18v5A/h, on peu bosser entre 15 et 20mn intense.
Au final, bon produit dsign et bien dans sa niche, de dpannage. Ryobi en fait une autre, avec 2 batteries idem que celle ici et qui videment aura le double de puissance et autonomie, mais plus lourde.

Da ich schon einige Gerte aus dieser Ryobi Serie besitze und dadurch schon einige Akkus vorhanden waren, habe ich mich fr diese Kettensge entschieden. Ich bin berrascht, wie gut diese kleine Elektrosge funktioniert. Fr gelegentliche Anwendung im Garten absolut empfehlenswert. Sehr gute Verarbeitung, wie bei allen Produkten dieser Marke, die ich bisher gekauft habe. Bedienung und Wartung sind intuitiv einfach.
Parfaite pour couper des petits chnes de 5-10cm de diamtre.
Attention : pensez acheter de l’huile pour chane car le minuscule bidon livr ne permet que 30mn de coupe…
Et la documentation est trs trs succincte pour les nophytes donc regardez des vidos sur le montage et la tension de la chane etc.

Je possede deux thermiques, une grosse et une petite qui correspond au gabarit de cette ryobi.
Les tronconeuses electriques vont bientot remplacer les thermiques, c’est clair, sauf pour les gros modeles.
Avantages sur le thermique: pas de pannes, entretien tres reduit, silence. Le changement de lame se fait sans outil sur ce modele. Tres legere donc gros atout au niveau de la securite car c’est souvent quand on se fatique que l’on se blesse. Apres une saison d’utilisation, aucune panne.
Inconvenient: autonomie faible, 30 a 45 min environ. Moi, je possede 4 batterie de 5ah et 2 chargeurs donc ca va.
Je possede deux thermiques, une grosse et une petite qui correspond au gabarit de cette ryobi.
Les tronconeuses electriques vont bientot remplacer les thermiques, c’est clair, sauf pour les gros modeles.
Avantages sur le thermique: pas de pannes, entretien tres reduit, silence. Le changement de lame se fait sans outil sur ce modele. Tres legere donc gros atout au niveau de la securite car c’est souvent quand on se fatique que l’on se blesse. Apres une saison d’utilisation, aucune panne.
Inconvenient: autonomie faible, 30 a 45 min environ. Moi, je possede 4 batterie de 5ah et 2 chargeurs donc ca va.
Like all Ryobi tools this saw is superb. I also have its 30v bigger brother but with only one battery the second batteries are too expensive, but this one takes the standard 18v one+ batteries and I have seven of those. Just make sure you keep the chain oil topped up and it will do almost anything you ask of it.

A n’utiliser qu’avec des accus de plus de 4Ah sinon autonomie trs rduite. N’a videmment pas la puissance de mon lagueuse thermique Stihl ni son autonomie. Par contre elle est silencieuse mais a ne dispense pas du port des protections sauf peut tre pour les oreilles. Le rglage d’origine consomme mon gout beaucoup d’huile. Est-ce ncessaire avec le guide et la chaine Ryobi ?

Nun 3 Tage eingesetzt. Wrde mal sagen 60-100 Schnitte gemacht. Geht durch wie Butter und bin sehr zufrieden. Wrde nochmals kaufen.
Lediglich mitgeliefertes l knnte etwas mehr sein. Musste nach ersten Arbeitstag los um l nachzukaufe
Diese Kettensge funktioniert sehr gut. Schne Schnittflche und mit einem greren Akku angenehm lange geeignet zum zuschneiten von dickeren Bauholz (welches fr die Handkreissge zu gro ist) oder entasten von Bumen.

Supplier: I bought this via Amazon from a French supplier as it was 15 cheaper than UK suppliers. It was delivered in less than 1 week. I have bought from this supplier before and always had good service.
Batteries: I have 10 Ryobi batteries, up to 5Ah so using the saw for a prolonged period is not an issue. I buy the batteries in Home Depot when I visit the USA, much cheaper than in UK even at the current exchange rate. The 5AHr battery lasts about 45mins of use.
Use: This is NOT a Stihl petrol chain saw so do not expect it to cut fast as the chain runs at 10m/min which is about half the speed of a petrol saw but it cuts fine through dry and wet logs with a SHARP chain. I use a Granberg 12v chain sharpener. You can buy them in the UK but much cheaper in USA. It automatically sets the cutter angle and depth and the height of the raker teeth.
Safety: Obviously, use face guard, ear defenders, safety boots, chainsaw gloves and preferably chaps and hard hat as you would with more powerful petrol saws. Saying that, this is safer to use for a novice and reduces the risk of kick back. As stated above the chain must be kept sharp as using force to cut increases the risk of kick back.

Die Kettensge ist der absolute Hammer.
Innerhalb von zehn Minuten hatte ich die Sge betriebsbereit.
Sie sgt einwandfrei dicke ste und auch kleinere Bume problemlos.
It is very good for 18v and the battery last well no probs with small trees and bushes not had a tree over 5inch yet but it will not be a problem I’m happy
J ai dj une thermique avec un guide 40 avec laquelle je fais envir 8 stres de bois par an et le nettoyage de berges d un etang et d une parcelle de bois. J ai achet cette trononneuse en machine secondaire pour pouvoir dbloquer la premire en cas de pincement en plein abattage, pour brancher, pour laguer, pour claircir et pour recouper des bches en 50 la maison sans trop embter les voisins.
pour l abattage, c est vraiment en secours et pour du petit diamtre car le guide fait dans les 25cm… Pour le reste elle est vraiment top. Niveau puissance, c est pas un avion de chasse mais elle fait son boulot et ne se bloque pas, elle prend juste son temps par rapport a une thermique. Niveau bruit quel bonheur de ne plus avoir de bruit que pour la coupe et seulement pour la coupe sans avoir sans arrt le bruit du ralenti ou devoir arrter et redmarrer sans arrt. Plus d entretien de moteur, de nettoyage ou remplacement de filtres, carbu et circuits, juste l entretien de la chane. La chane t le frein sont aussi efficaces qu une thermique. Niveau autonomie pour le ssayer j avais pris une 5A que je croyais charge mais qui tait’ a bout de course, j avais pris une 1,5 en secours et pensais qu elle ne tiendrais pas plus de 10min mais j ai t agrablement surpris.
Je garde bien sr m thermique pour l abattage et le gros mais pour tout le reste, c est dire 90% de mon utilisation trononneuse c est celle ci qui va prendre le pas”

Using with a third-party 5Ahr battery as well as a Ryobi 4Ahr. Tool free assembly and tool free chain tension adjustment is a major plus. The chain speed is impressively fast compared to the older model, easily cutting logs for my burner with its own weight. Make sure to put the chain the right way around (visible guide on the bar). I have seen reviews of similar saws saying they don’t cut and I do wonder if they have the chain reversed! Comes with 76ml of oil which only fills the tank to under 50%. Excellent choice if you have already invested in the ONE+ system.

Really nice piece of kit. Handled old hardwood railway sleepers easily. Very pleased with purchase.

Fr Profis Spielzeug, aber selbst die haben diese Sge neben Ihrer Profi-Benzinsge mit genutzt um Astwerk Schreddergerecht klein zu schneiden.
Und mit einem Original 18V Ryobi-Akku 4 Ah (hier im Shop fr ca 80 EUR) kommt man erstaunlich weit: ca 30-50 Schnitte bei 5-10cm Durchmesser Frischholz mit einer Ladung.
Da ich bereits Ryobi-Werkzeug seit 2 Jahren erfolgreich im Einsatz habe ist die Sge ein willkommene Ergnzung! Mit der dieser Art “Fernost-Qualitt” bin ich sehr zufrieden!
Achtung: Ich habe hier im Shop auch einen Billig-Akku (auch Fernost) fr weniger als der Hlfte des Geldes vom originalen Akku erworben.
Das ist rausgeschmissenes Geld!
In der Sge schafft er nicht mal soviel wie ein 1,5Ah-Original-Akku. Obwohl 4 LED’s leuchten schaltet das Billigteil stndig ab. Nur im Schrauber ist dieser gerade noch nutzbar. Dennoch Hnde weg!
Die Leerlaufstromaufnahme bei 20V betrgt fast 10 A (selbst nachgemessen, ein voller 18V Akku hat 20V, bei 16V ist er leer) im Betrieb drften ca 30-40A flieen. Das konnte ich mangels Adapter leider nicht genau messen, aber 400W wird die Sge beim Schnitt wohl aufbringen mssen.
Das ist eine enorme Beanspruchung fr den Akku, die Elektronik und die kleinen Kontakte.
Mein Tipp: Sge immer nur kurz einschalten, Holz durchsgen und wieder aus. Nur die kurze Einschaltdauer unterbindet schdliche Hitze. Nach jedem Arbeitstag mit intensiver Nutzung die Kontakte in der Sge reinigen und leicht mit Pol- oder Silikonfett einfetten. Auf Sauberkeit im Akkuschacht und richtigen Akkusitz achten und auf eine scharfe Kette!
Eine Ersatzkette habe ich hier im Shop leider noch nicht gefunden aber es gibt einen “saegeketten-onlineshop” mit einer Sgekette 3/8″LP-1.1-45 Treibglieder 30cm STANDARD-VERSION fr 6,95.
Fazit: absolut brauchbare Mini-Kettensge wenn man schon Ryobi Akkuwerkzeug nutzt.

Und mit einem Original 18V Ryobi-Akku 4 Ah (hier im Shop fr ca 80 EUR) kommt man erstaunlich weit: ca 30-50 Schnitte bei 5-10cm Durchmesser Frischholz mit einer Ladung.
Da ich bereits Ryobi-Werkzeug seit 2 Jahren erfolgreich im Einsatz habe ist die Sge ein willkommene Ergnzung! Mit der dieser Art “Fernost-Qualitt” bin ich sehr zufrieden!
Achtung: Ich habe hier im Shop auch einen Billig-Akku (auch Fernost) fr weniger als der Hlfte des Geldes vom originalen Akku erworben.
Das ist rausgeschmissenes Geld!
In der Sge schafft er nicht mal soviel wie ein 1,5Ah-Original-Akku. Obwohl 4 LED’s leuchten schaltet das Billigteil stndig ab. Nur im Schrauber ist dieser gerade noch nutzbar. Dennoch Hnde weg!
Die Leerlaufstromaufnahme bei 20V betrgt fast 10 A (selbst nachgemessen, ein voller 18V Akku hat 20V, bei 16V ist er leer) im Betrieb drften ca 30-40A flieen. Das konnte ich mangels Adapter leider nicht genau messen, aber 400W wird die Sge beim Schnitt wohl aufbringen mssen.
Das ist eine enorme Beanspruchung fr den Akku, die Elektronik und die kleinen Kontakte.
Mein Tipp: Sge immer nur kurz einschalten, Holz durchsgen und wieder aus. Nur die kurze Einschaltdauer unterbindet schdliche Hitze. Nach jedem Arbeitstag mit intensiver Nutzung die Kontakte in der Sge reinigen und leicht mit Pol- oder Silikonfett einfetten. Auf Sauberkeit im Akkuschacht und richtigen Akkusitz achten und auf eine scharfe Kette!
Eine Ersatzkette habe ich hier im Shop leider noch nicht gefunden aber es gibt einen “saegeketten-onlineshop” mit einer Sgekette 3/8″LP-1.1-45 Treibglieder 30cm STANDARD-VERSION fr 6,95.
Fazit: absolut brauchbare Mini-Kettensge wenn man schon Ryobi Akkuwerkzeug nutzt.

Je l’ai teste et je ne suis vraiment pas du, avec une batterie de 5000 mha je l’ai utilse plus de 30 minutes pour couper des buches de 15 20 cms de diametre. Le montage m’a pris 5 minutes. Seul petit reproche il n’y a qu’une toute petite bouteille d’huile, alors prevoyez l’achat d’un bidon sinon vous en aurez pas assez pour l’utiliservtoute le week-end !!!
