Need to plane sticky doors. No room to take off and plane horizontally. Done in situ.
Decent power and no cord was a factor in this purchase.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He’s a budding DIY enthusiast. It works really well once you get to know the product. I would definitely recommend learning to use the product and testing it out on various wood types and widths before using it on something that counts.
The only thing I don’t like is that the collection bag doesn’t collect all the shaved bits of wood and it can be quite messy to use.
I don’t really need one, but every so often I think I could use one but never considered it an essential item. Feeling a bit flush I pressed ‘buy now’ and it was done.
Never used an electric planet before and didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Lovely bit of kit and it’s just fun to use watching all the wood shavings flying around (which make great kindling if collected for wood burners). Haven’t used it much but it’s another tool to add to My expanding ryobi one collection.
I purchased this item as it could be sent to Guernsey, whereas the genuine Ryobi items cannot.
I wasn’t sure whether it would arrive at all, but I was pleasantly surprised that it arrived quicker than quoted.
It says 6Ah on the batter, and so far, it has lasted well beyond my expectations.
The fit is good, and it charges just fine in the Ryobi charger, so I am very happy.
Cost was also a big factor, as it is around 1/3rd of the cost of the genuine article, so I wasn’t expecting a great deal, but I have to say that it is very good indeed.
If you need a spare battery for your Ryobi 18v One-Plus, this is well worth trying.

This plan was bough to take some wood of the bottom of a door. Easy to use. Nice small adjustment enable me to take off small amounts without taking lumps out. Results are very good. Start with a full battery. It really eats up the charge when in use and as expected struggles with a low battery.

I started new job as a college caretaker. ryobi are the tools of choice there. After using them I’ve built up my own stock at home. Drill , leaf blower, planer ( excellent even with my limited skills. Torch, jet washer, and soon to be tyre inflator. Great quality and price for what I need. The one battery system is superb.
Big fan of Ryobi One plus. For the money I find these more than good enough and so far have not had one failure. My first small hammer drill is still perfect after over 10 years…. Only changed the battery once to Lithium when first available and still holds charge and power well.
This Plane is well made and works well. A good addition to my Ryobi collection.
Does the job. Works well with a larger battery. The small ones don’t last too long, although it depends on the job you’re doing!

Good batter powered planer, make sure you’ve got a battery charging if you’ve got a big job to do because it munches the power. The blades are a bit fiddly to get set up at the right alignment, but fine when set up
Very handy ,just grab it and start to use it no wire catching on the end of the wood .

Arrived today, well made not used and sure it will do the job well. Only negative hence the four stars was it came with no spare blades as shown on the box.

Yet another fantastic tool from Ryobi. A lot quieter than other planers and extremely powerful. Not too heavy when using. 10/10
Never owned an electric planer before. I’ve been missing out. This is great, but needs a bit of practice to get a good result. Will even plane across grain with very little tear out or splintering if the blades are sharp. Replacement blades are easy to come by and look to be easy to replace. Not too expensive either. Gone are the days of trying to sharpen a hand plane!

abot sans fil trs pratique. Bien sur le couple n’est pas comparable au rabot lectrique mais il fait bien son travail. Utiliser une batterie de 4 Amp. pour ne pas tre a cour d’activit. je recommande cet article.

Very useful tool,does what it is designed to do, but does not collect all wood dust.
Trimmed off the bottom of a few internal doors due to new thicker carpets having been laid.
Great item, as I only use Ryobi.
Wanted this as it was cordless, as my other one the lead was hindrance and always catching on something
Maniable, lger et stable. Bonne prise en main, bon grip ergonomique. j’ai rabot pour l’instant 8 Bastaings de 63X 175 sur 4 mtres. Rien redire si vous vous limit une passe de 1.2 mm maxi. La dernire (1.6 mm) ne passe que si il n’y a aucun nud sinon il bloque.
Ce rabot fais le job et correspond au descriptif et aux commentaires.
Par contre, prvoyez une batterie en 5A + minimum une de 2.5 A pendant que celle de 5 recharge.

ITs a good planer easy to use blade seems nice and sharp
I needed to trim a door to size on a log cabin – far away from any mains power. This was just the ticket. Probably not as powerful as a mains powered version, but perfectly man enough for the job in hand.
1.8mm is definitely not powerful enough to do. batteries suffer a lot. 3m oak plank – 4 threads – 2x5ah batteries depleted and overheated. 1.5mm is not a bigger problem though. fun otherwise

Just like other Ryobi 18V power tools, this one is well made, does a very good job and is excellent value.
The tool has an easy to use depth adjustment, vacuum adapter and a dust exhaust that can be switched from left to right.
The tool comes with a spanner to change the blades if required and a side guard.
Al in all a great addition to the Ryobi one + family.
