PRESSURE FIT GATE RANGE

Compact stair gate
Great stair gate. It looks so nice, and it’s a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. I’m glad we paid the extra because in the evening when it’s open you barely notice it and I feel like I have my house back.

Love this stair gate. We needed something that would screw into the banister so needed to be tall. This fits perfect. Very easy to operate and look far better than the metal gates we have used in the past. We use it to keep the dogs from going upstairs.

This is a great stair gate. Live in an old beamed listed building cottage and is is effective and unobtrusive for grandchild and dog visitors. I have very narrow steep stairs !

I bought this for the bottom of my stairs for my dogs as one of them has a knee injury and can’t climb. Also, I’m pregnant and needed something easy and wide for me!
The gate was super easy to mount with the templates and worked very well for almost a week.. It was no match for my uninjured dog that simply couldn’t face sleeping downstairs during the evening. He chewed at the mesh and pulled at it so much he managed to pull the bottom fixture out of the wall, plaster and all.
Obviously not going to mark the product down because had my dog not been an absolute muppet, we’d have had no issues.

The best safety gate I’ve ever used – and I’ve tried lots! Easy to open one handed, can open without retracting completely and I love that you have the versatility of keeping it open so no faffing unnecessarily when baby is not about. It isn’t noisy like other retractable gates either.
I’ve never written a review before, but felt compelled as I wish another mum had told me about this gate earlier! It is expensive, and a little tricky to install, but absolutely worth it!

Used as a barrier for my dog, can be used one handed, keeps the dog where I want him, tucks away nice and tidy, fairly easy to install, would be 5 stars but a little pricey, good product.
Aprs 2 mois d’utilisation cette barrire tient bien la route.
Rien signaler, le systme de scurit n’a jamais fait dfaut et le pan ne se dtend pas, pourtant bb y prend appui.
L’avantage c’est qu’il n’y a pas de socle ce qui est souvent le cas pour d’autres modles de barrires, ce qui laisse le passage totalement libre lorsqu’elle est ouverte, et donc sans accroc possible.
A conseiller, surtout en haut des escaliers , notamment par rapport au dtail voqu prcdemment.

Unico neo che vale la quinta stella il sistema di apertura e soprattutto di chiusura. Bisogna prima incassare il paletto e poi premere un doppio pulsante. Insomma un Po macchinoso da fare con una mano. Ma vale il fatto di vederlo sparire quando non serve.

Ideal Dog guard but for children as well
This is a nice looking guard, installed a few steps up, not for children but to keep our 2 dogs from sneaking upstairs. Used several thin layers of cork from cork tiles to act as a butt because of the stairs has a skirting board, cheaper option than buying extra for the guard. Better than metal guard, does not need to be retracted, just leave loose in bottom hole and let it lean if popping up and down stairs (not recommended to do this if using with small children. Would buy again if needed, but with children would need 2 top and bottom of stairs.

Nous avons install la barrire depuis hier seulement en biais en haut d’un escalier ! la barrire s’ouvre trs facilement d’une main avec mon fils dans les bras, en revanche, il est plus difficile de l’enrouler avec une seule main. Le tissage semble rsistant bien qu’un peu “lche”. J’en suis trs satisfaite !

Nice neat gate
Nice neat gate . Would have given a 5 star but was more difficult to fit than expected. It requires a completely flat wall to fit simply but most staircases have a skirting board as does ours and we had to get a strip of wood and shape to skirting and then glue to wall before we could fit the gate. It also keeps slipping out of the non opening side at bottom as it is hard to measure hole positioning when you have a carpet as it compresses the carpet and therefore leaves a gap so have to keep re-fixing this side. However saying that as our puppy isn’t a particularly naughty dog it stops her going up the stairs but I don’t think it would stop a very determined boisterous pup.
avant j’avais une barrire fixe avec une porte et c’tait fastidieux surtout lorsque vous passez les bras chargs et esthtiquement elle tait toujours visible ; cette barrire rtractable s’intgre trs bien dans mon couloir et j’oublie mme qu’il y a une barrire ; je ne l’a met en place que lorsque j’en ai vraiment besoin et le reste du temps je peux circuler librement ; un coup prendre lorsqu’elle s’enroule : il faut un peu la retenir sinon elle part trs vite… ; pour la mettre en place ou l’enrouler il faut quand mme les deux mains libres mais elle est vraiment pratique ! je recommande
J’ai reu la barrire il y a quelques jours seulement. Ce commentaire portera donc sur mes premires impressions.
Je l’ai installe l’tage, en haut d’un escalier o je ne pouvais pas installer de barrire rigide.
J’ai profit du caractre dformable de la barrire pour scuriser un espace ct de l’escalier (je mets une photo, c’est plus parlant).
Le gros avantage de cette barrire, c’est qu’il n’est pas ncessaire de l’enrouler lorsqu’on l’ouvre. Un systme de blocage du rideau permet de garder la longueur que l’on veut. Ensuite il suffit de la refermer derrire soi chaque passage. Le systme de dblocage du rideau est un peu bruyant, mais comme je le dis prcdemment, il n’est pas ncessaire de l’utiliser chaque fois.
Le systme d’ouverture de la porte est suffisamment complexe pour qu’un enfant ne parvienne pas l’ouvr lui-mme, mais assez simple pour un adulte.

Perfect for the small space
We didn’t have any other safety gate that would work in the small opening leading up to our loft room so this one works well. Opening and closing is a bit fiddley but it keeps my daughter safe from climbing those stairs.

I was slightly put off by the price as we needed 3, but these stair gates are well worth every penny! No more trip hazards, no more gate getting in the way, just use and retract when you don’t need it. We’ve had lots of comments from visitors about how great they are.
Our large cat can squeeze under the gates so may not be great for those wanting to use them for small dogs. But for children these are perfect!
Cette barrire est conforme la description. Reue dans les temps. Nous avons un escalier trs troit et un autre trs large pour lesquels nous ne pouvions acheter de barrire “standard”. Celle-ci est parfaite. Mes grands enfants peuvent la manier trs facilement pour l’ouverture et la fermeture. Trs scurise pour le petit dernier.

This is great – I love how it folds back when not in use and doesn’t make your house look like a prison, plus my 18 month old escapologist cant open it. It’s easy to open with one hand although a little bit tricky to close. Also remember to shut it before your child is asleep because the rachet mechanism is sooooo noisy. None of that has put me off though and I’m buying another one for the top of the stairs. Definitely worth the money.

A little bit fiddly to use and my 9 and 11 year old kids tend to yank it (I suppose it is supposed to be childproof), but keeps my puppy in an awkward space that a stairgate wouldn’t fit and not as obtrusive.
Very neat design, bit tricky to operate.
Overall very happy with it. The main plus is that it folds away to nothing and the quality of the engineering and manufacture is first class. The main minus is that it is a bit tricky to operate – to open or close you have to set the timer running. You then have a few seconds to slide and lock it into place, so if you are a bit slow off the mark you have to start again. Any visitors, people with hand eye coordination problems etc. have no chance of being able to operate it and every chance of breaking it if they force the issue!

Great for the bottom of the stairs or using to section off a corridor. Not advised for top of stairs – also box says not for use with children >2 years…….???? Anyway when the kids are in bed its nice not to feel like we live in a jail. Very discreet and easy to open close. Even with one hand.

Really great child proof barrier! Easy to fit and to use… we bought it to stop our grandchildren from falling down the stairs and over the years we’ve had loads of ‘child proof gates’ but I think that this one is by far the best! A little pricey but very good!
Great Gate for children and big dogs but would not recommend for puppies or smaller breeds
This is a great gate if you are looking for something that hides away nicely. It blends in well and looks the part. The locking mechanism works well and the retracting is smooth with no problems.
We bought it to be installed at the bottom of our stairs to stop our dog coming upstairs. This was successful until he realised that he could squeeze himself underneath the gate. As it is made from fabric it does have a bit of give and with a bit of struggling he is soon underneath and on the other side.
We also needed to buy the additional spacers as we had skirting at the bottom which pushes the fitting brackets out leaving a gap at the top that needs the spacers.
Overall this is a great gate and is perfect for children or bigger dogs but i wouldn’t recommend it for puppies or small breed. We have two cocker spaniels. The older 3 year old can’t get through but the 6 months old pup wriggles his way through.

Seul bmol: attention au repli du rideau faire bien droit et tendu sinon il froisse dans l’enrouleur (ce que ne fait pas la KIDD…).
Mais le prix (excellent et achat sre sur AMAZON) et la praticit valent cette petite attention.
Pur un emploi d’assmat celle-ci est bien mieux (on sait de quoi on parle).

Arrived on time, easy to install (note: fixings kit is in bottom of package, easy to miss if you open the box at the wrong end). Absolutely does the job keeping our small dog away from the stairs.
We bought this stairgate in 2016 to stop the dog using the stairs. My husband has developed dementia and is very unsteady on his feet, 2 days ago he stumbled at the top of the stairs and fell against the stairgate, it held all 9 stone of him until the plaster on the wall gave way and he slid gracefully down 13 stairs. The only injury was a carpet burn to his face. I am buying another as the closing rod is slightly bent. Highly recommended as it stopped a full grown man. Space saving and not cumbersome like the rigid ones and so easy to fit and use and it still stops the dog and the grandchildren.

Just be sure to measure your skirting boards. We have really wide skirting boards and this had to go on the wall above them. Much better than a traditional gate and you can still get wider items in and out of the hallway.
Seule barrire adaptable dans un escalier qui ne fait que 66cm de large. Assez solide pour rsister aux attaques de mon fils! Il faut juste ne pas s’agacer les premires fois qu’on l’utilise lorsqu’on ne synchronise pas les 2 actions sur les boutons ((pousser vers la droite d’un cot et appuyer en bas de l’autre) pour que a s’enroule correctement.
La barrire s installe facilement et peut s ouvrir et se fermer d une seule main. Elle est secure en plus d tre plus esthtique que celles en bois (selon mes gots). Je recommande vivement ce produit !

Good product, seems to be reliable (has been up 2 weeks so far). Closing it is a little bit tricky, but is entirely possible to do it one-handed with a little one in the other arm. The material does move around when you lean against it but puts up enough resistance that even a full grown man (i.e. me) can’t lean on it and make it break.
Excellent customer service, easily reachable on the phone, happy to chat you through issues and return if you’re not 100% happy (although that turned out not to be necessary for me).

As I didn’t want a large metal solid gate which was not very discrete, I decided to opt for this retractable one. Which the standard ‘gate’ type doors, if you were to leave it open, it would just get in the way. Very annoying. Anyway, once delivered, I checked the box, and was pleasantly surprised that they included templates for both the left and right side door components, so there is no chance that it would go wrong. They also supply screws and wall plugs, so that was good as well.
In practice, you will need a solid backing/wall, and you could even potentially use the door frame (as I did). It’s a little wobbly on a frame, but it’s good enough for 1 yr old child not to break through.
The material the ‘door’ is made from is a rubberised mesh type of material which makes it partially see through, so the little one can see to the otherside.
Recommend this. It’s slightly more than the standard gates, but you’re paying for the discreteness.
I got this to put at the top of the stairs. We wanted something discreet, which this is, especially when compared to the metal gates. We didn’t want a trip hazard either.
Yes, you have to screw it into the wall/banisters, but that is simply a choice you make when buying a gate. My husband said it was easy enough to do, though if we get a second, he would do things slightly differently. He had to construct a wood insert to make the fittings align, due to our skirting. He has fitted the parts you click the gate into quite far around the side which makes it slightly tricky to open/shut the gate but this is still possible one handed- you have to push in a button on one side of the ‘pole’ of the gate and slide down the bottom on the opposite side of the pole.
A little awkward perhaps to get the best hand position bit easy to do!
My main issue with the gate is the button you have to push and slide across to retract/pull across the gate- it is quite stiff to do and makes a decent amount of noise- I am not sure why this couldn’t be a quieter and smoother action….
But overall happy. When it is open, it is quite hard to see and when retracted, the fixings are also fairly discreet, which is what we wanted.
You do need to place this a little way back from the edge of the top stair for safety reasons.

Brilliant. This is much better than a metal gate that is always in the way when not in use – this hides away and you don’t notice it at all until you use it. Bubba is pretty sturdy and she has pushed all her weight onto it, it’s been fine and it is a secure barrier for her.

excellent stair gate and really handy how it folds completely out of the way when you dont want it there. we have it across a double door opening into a conservatory.

Superb product. My husband had to install this because you need to drill the side of door. But other than that, it works brilliantly for my 2 years old. During day time, it can be neatly folded away and looks discreet. ( You know it is there, but it doesn’t scream out)

Looks fine and works as described, but I have one slight issue with it – this may be specific to my wall, etc, but the bottom screw on the top bracket which attaches the gate to the wall isn’t long enough in my opinion, because the screw head is quite far from the wall and when I attempted to screw it in it wouldn’t tighten in the wall plug. Result was that when the gate was closed, the whole thing pivoted on the top screw and didn’t look safe at all. I fixed this by substituting the supplied screw (they’re all the same length, which is about one inch) with a much longer one (and wall plug) of my own. The gate is now tight on the wall and no issues with pivoting, etc.

This safety gate is brilliant, easy to fit and good against both children and dog escaping.
Have spend months trying to find a gate that fit our awkward stair banister posts. This is great – no trip bar, retracts so out of the way when not in use and comes with brilliant templates to mark positions for the screws do you don’t even need to do any measuring. Awesome.
That one goes on my 10 best baby buys list. Easy assembly, rolls away when not in use, no tripping hazard on top of the stairs, locking system hard to override by child! I can go on and on…
This is really easy to use and to fix to the wall, the only downside is that we have a large skirting board on the stairs so leaves quite a large gap (got this to stop the dogs going up the stairs and a few can squeeze under!) It is a little bulky when folded up but you can remove it easily if it is only an occasional safety gate so all in all I think its pretty good (it isnt bulky enough to be a pain tho if you did want it up the whole time).
From a child point of view I think it is excellent (my son is 9 so no longer required) but it cant just be opened easily so would be good with toddlers as well.

Great product, I installed it easily and it is very convenient. I bought two, one for each floor.
I `m delighted with this product. I did a bit of research prior to buying as there are a lot of retractable gates on the Market. I wasn’t sure about the Safetots version as it seems to offer more advanced features but at a cheaper price than the others. However, it’s arrived, I put it up easily, it’s working perfectly and exactly what I wanted. One feature I really liked which I wouldn’t find on the others, was the option to open and walk through the gate without having to retract it all the way. If you are intending to use the gate regularly, this really takes the hassle out of the operation. A very good product at a great price.
Works brilliantly at the bottom of our stairs; there are things either side which can’t be covered by a door-style gate. The post at the side is quite un-obtrusive. The mechanism is really easy to use one-handed. It seems very robust and solid, like it will withstand a lot of use. Also, its very quiet; I hated the noise that the wooden door-style gates make when my little girl stands and rattles them and also when clunking the lock in place. This gate is almost silent, other than the noise from the ratchet. The only thing I would change is the colour; although ours is new, the bright white would, I imagine, get quite dirty and dusty over time and may start to look old. A darker grey option would be better. Other than that I think this is a great buy and also much better value than the Lascal gates which are similar and twice the price. When our other baby gates need replacing I will be swapping them all for this one.
