Good but squeaky
Does the job, looks nice, sturdy and secure but squeaks every time someone moves! Which is irritating but not a massive deal when the product is good.

It took me 5 mins to install on IKEA bed. Very sturdy and safe, the best looking bed rail I could find on the market, actually makes bed look nicer. Only minor downside is that by law the maker is obliged to impress warning safety notice on visible side.

I co-sleep with my 2 childern and I needed something to prevent my 8 month old to fall of bed (I was using next2me cot as bedguard but it wasn’t safe anymore) . I got this extra wide and extra tall one. It’s very sturdy, attached to bed slats with 6 screws. There is no dangerous gap between guard and matress. Installation was fairly easy, I did it myself, took me 15 minutes.

Really pleased with this side rails. I would recommend getting the extra wide and extra long as when you have a climber it is worth having something safe. The only thing is that it does move backwards and forwards when rocked (as children do) even though we have it screwed to the bed like recommended. Otherwise I am really pleased with this purchase.

It was for an adults bed because we were suffering from condensation and had to move the bed away from the wall and this was ideal to keep bedding etc. falling off the side also the grey colour matches perfectly with the grey walls it looks really nice.

We are currently using this on our toddlers bed Ikea Hemnes Day Bed, it does the job perfectly and looks nice too, simple product but does everything in needs to.
Is a bit of a shame the warning text is rather bold on the outside when in use.

Speedy delivery and a sturdy rail. It’s shame that the top part of the frame isn’t as smooth as the sides or the bars. It was almost like they forgot to polish part up.

My only gripe with it is the warning labels are all on the outside of the guard so always visible.

Keeps your toddler safe
This is a great length. It’s sturdy and you have the options to screw it to the bed which is what we have done to achieve the height and rigidity we wanted. We were surprised how our toddler did not climb out of bed at night despite the fact she could have done so easily. Would recommend for any appropriate toddler bed.
This is not portable so for travelling you should buy a foldable portable bed guard.

This bed guard is fabulous. I have installed it on the lower bunk bed for our 18 month old and it is solid.
Easy to assemble with two screws that are included. The bed guard also comes with two locking plates that are screwed into the wooden bed slats for extra protection.

Looks great with my mamas and papas ivory toddler bed. It does lift the mattress a bit but I tested it out myself and you can’t feel the wood underneath a sprung mattress at all! It’s definitely worth paying that little bit extra.

I’m really impressed with this bed rail. With our first we bought one from Mothercare that was a plastic frame, mesh/polyester cover and it was awful. It looked awful, wasn’t sturdy and didn’t fit a toddler bed properly. So for our second I wanted to make sure I found a good quality one. This one is excellent quality, sturdy timber, well made, easy to put up and put down and the paint finish is good quality too. We use ours to travel with so kept the box and use cable ties to secure in place instead of the clamps it comes with (a good tip from another reviewer on here). I’m really pleased with it and the standard length is very good for adult size beds too, our toddler has to go a fair way to get out of bed! We used it for weekend and holiday trips now and only wish we’d found it for our first born 🙂
Great Bed Guard
I bought this for my Grandson’s Bed it fits great on a full size single bed, I liked the white wood and it matched the single bed I already had, the Bed Guard is sturdy, long for little one to be secure and looks nicer than a lot of bed guards I have seen. Very pleased.

My son was very premature and I never left his side once home, eventually I put him in his cot in his own room but I felt anxious as despite being just over 1 now he still sleeps so much so I wanted him back in my room some of the day as I nap when he does so I spent a long time choosing the perfect bed rail for my king size bed so we can nap safely during the day, I am amazed how long it is and sturdy, because I have a extra thick mattress it’s not as high as it would be with a smaller bed or mattress but I’d definitely recommend this one, I know my son is very safe and that’s all that matters and definitely worth the money, a must buy x

I am very happy with this barrier. It’s sturdy, moves a bit, but it’s expected since it is only hold by a mattress (mine is very heavy). My son jumps on it and it’s keeping him save. My mornings are much better since we bought this. 😉
There is no oil or wax on the wood surface, which I think is perfect, but some may what to know that.
Smart looking and secure! Use your own screws!
Easy to put up but had to use our own larger screws. It came with tiny screws that wouldn’t hold anything in place, similar issue with the stair gates. Black writing on outside which is annoying also. But it’s safe, looks smart and overall happy. Just make sure you have your own screws!

We’ve had this on our bed for a while so that if I bring baby into bed with us I don’t have to worry about him wiggling out (note this is not what it’s sold for!). It works well for this but we never leave him unsupervised with it as he’s younger than the lower age limit and has a tendency to try and climb it already… it’s not terribly sturdy as it’s only fixed under the mattress..
Delivery was super quick!
Our son has cerebral palsy, and currently cannot walk, so we needed a longer bed guard than a standard toddler bed fitting one because if he fell out of bed he wouldn’t be able to help himself back up.
(Although this is designed to fit onto a wooden bed, we slightly cheated and used cable ties to hold it in place! Worked a treat.)
There is a minimal gap either side of the guard, but not enough to cause concern!
It was really quick to assemble, two bolts and done, and as you can see leaves a good 20cm from the mattress to the top of the bed guard. (I measured it too!)
Does the job I guess
Looks sturdy enough I added a couple of extra screws to be on the safe side. As you can see in the picture doesn’t look like much space is left and the mattress is 19cm as recommended but it does squash down and minus the quilt so when you lie down it will add extra depth (I did personally test it so seems okay but time will tell)

Bought to match my daughters white bedroom furniture. It’s true white in colour. Fitted onto my toodlers single bed, where you attach it onto the slats. We adapted it slightly so it was even more secure, by also screwing it into the bed. I’ve since bought another.
Just what we needed.
Great quality item. Does exactly what we wanted and fits 3/5 of a large double. Instructions are pretty basic: you can bolt into the upright position if you want. Works well with our thick mattress without having to use the supplied clamps. If the mattress is thin and lightweight, these may have been needed.
It is a sturdy and attractive bed guard, although the wooden piece that slides under the mattress is as thick as the visible upright guard section, so I think it could cause a lump and be felt if used with a thinner type of mattress. We have used ours with a standard thickish mattress and it seems fine, but some of the children’s cot-bed mattresses are thinner and it might not work so well with those. Also, the bed we have has a small upstand surrounding the mattress, which we had to push hard to get the guard to sit down inside of. However, it works well once in place.
Perfect for purpose
This bedrail is just as described. The length is perfect for my single bed as they are almost the same length ( would probably have gotten away with the regular one) . Provides extra security for my little 2 yr old who turns constantly when he sleeps (Keeps my mind at rest). I would definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic bed rail and fits my daughter’s cot bed perfectly. It has a gap at the bottom to allow her to climb in and out easily but not fall out at night. It looks so much nicer than some of the fabric ones available and is much sturdier. My daughter ripped a fabric one within a week of it being on the bed. It’s a nice height and secures to the bed easily. Very easy to assemble as it simply folds down and then you can secure it to the base of the bed. Really nice presentable product. Easy to unfold and lock into place. Lovely grey colour, coinsidentally matches the grey ikea wall shelf we have in the room. Only reason it isnt 5* is because it scratches and marks a bit too easily. Fits well on a standard single bed.

Happy with this. Attached it to IKEA Hemnes day bed for our toddler. It’s a fairly thin mattress so as an adult you can feel the base of the wooden rail through it, but our toddler is light enough to not feel it. It feels sturdy and is working well so far.

The bed rail came easy to assemble and fit to the bed. Its solid wood and feels very sturdy so have no worries about it breaking, it appears very good quality with a nice paint finish and does the job it says perfectly.

Reasonably sturdy and looks good but the locking bolts required to set the thing up are quite a poor fit and difficult to install, there are only 2 of them though! Great once it’s installed though.
Looks great, works well but you need the Alan key
This came in good time and is of good quality. It looks good on my son’s white toddler bed. It’s main drawback is that if you want to take it places with you you have to use the Alan key to take it apart and put back together again, which is a bit of extra time and another thing to remember.
I highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a rail / bumper for a cot bed. We have a Mamas & Papas cot bed and this rail fits and matches perfectly and has stopped our little girl from falling out of bed. It is also similar to the look and feel of her cot so I think that provides additional comfort for her as she has slept so well again since we added this. Only thing I would suggest is tying the base of the rail (the bit that goes under the mattress) to the bed’s structure with string (or similar) to prevent children from pulling it out.
I have used this product for over a year to keep my disabled child safe in a standard single bed, we have also taken it on holiday with us. My child can roll, but not stand or sit up, this product stops him from falling out of bed and is very sturdy.
I bought this as my little boy decided to try and climb out of his bed. I wanted something that was long enough for the full length of the bed. This is perfect, however we did have to cut it down slightly for it to fit in his bed. Really good product. My little boy can climb in and out of bed with ease and without falling from a great hight.
Great bed guard, bought for my 3-year-old with development difficulties when he outgrew his cot. It’s long enough to cover three quarters of the length of the bed. Because it’s got wooden bars we are able to attach his night light to it too, which wouldn’t be possible with a fabric type guard, and it also gives a sense of familiarity as it looks like cot bars.

The paint is fairly thinly applied so we did touch it up a bit but it is perfect for the job. I know it suggests not for use on a top bunk however I modified it with secure bolts into the bed rungs and it is perfect. Looks good and just is a bit more peace of mind that our son will be safe.
Very strong guard, and is very stable when the mattress is on top of it. Looks great, I have it on a simple, single wooden bed and the base under the mattress doesn’t quite fit between the slats completely but still works fantastically.
Was a bit of a pain to work out how to put it together correctly but once it was figured out it was sorted quickly.
It works well – could be better if it was taller. Once it clears a “normal” bed mattress – the kind you have on a grown ups bed, it only leaves about 10cm. Still on the occasion my toddler has come into our bed, he hasn’t fallen out so therefore it’s effective as it is. It is a simple product though, not sure it’s really worth the price but as an alternative to the others, it looks better.
Fab quality – we used it for a homemade loft bed and bolted it to the base for security with added brackets. One minor bug bear is that it’s naked wood, so needs a varnish to avoid dirt and the inevitable vomit that a child will throw at it.
We have a built-in cabin bed at waist height which my 3 year old grand-daughter has been desperate to sleep in. I bought this bed guard and it has been a huge success. Very easy to assemble (2 screws) and VERY stable on the bed, it just sits on the base and the mattress keeps it in place. A great idea, much better than the netting one I tried before.
Excellent bed guard, suitable for stopping children rolling out of bed while asleep. This will not stop a child climbing out of bed. We used it for our large 5 year old grandson who has severe disabilities. We used to move it during the day as he liked to use it as a climbing aid, but over night it was great and will use it every time he stays.

Looks lovely and works well. It is a decent size and very sturdy. I have used it on my own king sized bed while co-sleeping for a while and it is now on my toddler’s cotbed as she is not quite ready for the side to be taken completely off, but I was finding lifting her in and out over the full height cotside hard work. We have an Ikea Gulliver cotbed and this fits leaving about a 2″ gap at either end.
The only way it would be better would be if you could somehow flip down the side so that it didn’t have to be completely removed from under the mattress. But I guess that would bump the cost up quite a bit or make it less sturdy.
We did have a problem with the first one that was sent, but this company’s customer service was second to none in dealing with it.

Didn’t fancy one of the plastic net guards for LB’s single bed, so decided to give this a try. So pleased I did – its perfect. LB spent some afternoon naps in single bed and nights in cot, but once this arrived decided to give the bed a try at night and never looked back. His cot was dismantled and put away when he was 2.
Really handy as slightly longer than some guards – my daughter kept climbing out of her cot at 17 months! So needed to put the cot bed into the bed but as she was still quite young and moved a lot in her sleep ( you put her at the foot of the bed and she ends up at the top of the bed then back to the foot again) so I needed as small a gap as possible this really did the job and helped me sleep better knowing she could fall out – but could still get out if she wanted without climbing!
Only downside is there’s nothing to connect the guard to the bed it just slides under mattress which was not secure at all as it would slide out too easily when my daughter climbed in and out if bed so I fastened to bed slates with cable ties
It also made the mattress lift slight at one side so it sloped also abit annoying but didn’t cause my daughter any problems and on the grand scheme of things it kept her safe in bed -nth us was the only one I could find with a decent length and the look was less tacky than most bed guards you find

I purchased this item for my youngest grandson, after borrowing one for my 1st grandson I wanted to get one to match the cot bed but one that was strong & sturdy. This is perfect. We have secured it with a couple of screws through the rail & the bottom of the cot bed. It still looks like his cot but this allows him to get out if he wants
Works well for lower wooden bunk bed
Bought this for our 3 year old on moving to share bunk beds with his older brother, and very pleased with the result, it fits well, is a good height/length to provide safety/security, and looks good. We also like the fact that whilst you can screw the fixings in to the bed, the guard works perfectly well without them and saves you the hassle! The colour of the guard also matched the wood of the bed we’d bought perfectly, which was a bonus. All in all we are very happy. The one criticism is that because the two ends of the guard do not sit flush with the bed slats, the base of the mattress bunches slightly at each end, but not so much that it is very obvious or noticeable when lying in the bed.
A bit pricey but does the job
I have bought this product after returning a Babydan Wooden Bedrail which was a potential safety hazard. The screw came off the rail after 3 weeks’ use and as it is a pressed up screw, it could not be fixed. I am quite concerned as I found 2 year old daughter playing with it and she could have chocked on it if I did not see her on time. I am happy to say that the Safetots Bed rail does not have this issue as the screw is safely fixed in place and if it is loose, you can tighten it up. There were no instructions sent with the product and it was badly packaged but the product itself works. It could have been cheaper especially when you are also paying for postage.
Very good item, converted our cot bed to a toddler bed perfectly! Only problem is that the child likes to shake it and climb on it from the floor 🙁 but atleast he is not falling out of the bed in his sleep (we had to take off cot bed high sides as he was climbing on them, very dangerous!). This guard was the best solution though and it is perfectly matching our cot bed colour and style! Baby was 15 months old when we had to change his bed this way.
I agree with the review that says this is a little wobbly, but that doesn’t stop it doing the job, and I’m so pleased to have found something to use on a double bed. All the other bed guards out there seem to have a piece that goes all the way under the mattress, but only works if the mattress is no wider than a single bed, or they don’t work with slatted beds. This bed guard is easily removable when the double bed is in use by adults (it has brackets that can be screwed down onto the slats, but the base seems to go far enough under the mattress for that not to be necessary, my 19-month-old is not going to roll into it with such force that she flips the thing out from under the mattress). This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I decided to look for a bedguard, I didn’t realise it was going to be so difficult to find it.
