Bought for parents’ christmas present so going on what they say about it. They haven’t had to clean it yet but it is very easy to use

Great toaster, does a good job and repeatable toast, the have a look button is genius as is the bit more button.

After reading some poor reviews I was relieved that the toaster was performing brilliantly. Not sure about the usefulness of crumpet function as I like mine toasted on both sides.
Glad I spent a large sum of money for a functional and highly technical toaster.

Some may say it’s a lot of money for a toaster but how much do you value your taste buds.
Crumpet mode switches off one side so you get fluffy nomumental parcels ready to soak up entirely too much butter.
It’s repeatable, the digital timer although clever does not make things complicated – once you know your favourite setting then it’s easy to get that every time.
It’s powerful and will burn your ‘everything’ if you do as my family usually do and set the time to high.
It’s thick (and THIC 😉 ), takes generous wedges from an uncut deli bloomer and toasts them to perfection.
This however leads me onto my one gripe, its not deep enough – so in the middle of said deli bloomer the slice barely fits into the slot (what first world hardship we must endure).
Motorises action is novel but it does have a practical purpose, no more do I hear the family slamming the lever UP whilst trying to catch the toasted items.
The dogs are officially unhappy as no more free food after a failed ‘catch’

Really good product – functionally that’s how all toasters should work. My only little note of slight disappointment is the picture certainly creating an impression that the toaster is made of brushed metal. In fact it’s decent quality but still just painted plastic.

Lovely toaster – easy top use – great toasting settings

Sure it’s over engineered, expensive and looks at home on a spaceship, but it’s also the best toaster I’ve ever used. Just make sure to only use the crumpet setting on crumpets, it will burn your bread …I was curious.

We love this toaster! It’s by far the best one I’ve owned, without doubt. It’s toasts both sides equally, evenly and quickly.

100% awesome, if not a little expensive.

Excellent toaster, bit pricey but it is a good bit of kitchen tech.

This is a good looking machine, for a toaster. It’s solid, well made and easy to use. The motor that sinks and raises the bread is nice but it’s just a gimmick. But then why shouldn’t a toaster have a bell and a whistle? The problem is that, even on full setting it just produces just off white bread. Do that same bread for a second time and you will get golden brown toast that is crisp and crunchy. Pity you have to toast it twice to get there.

Excellent toaster, so versatile. There’s a great video reviewing it on YouTube. It’s not cheap but the build is excellent.

Looks smart and enhances the kitchen albeit I’d have preferred it to have been the same colour silver as the coffee make

I could watch its smooth electronic motor driven operation all day long. The next best thing to having a servant to toast your bread 😉

It’s not perfect but it’s the best toaster I’ve owned in the past 12 years and I’ve had 7. I don’t change toasters they just die – often the soft white metal combs that push the toasted bread out of the slot get too feeble to accomplish their task. Why manufacturers persist in using this metal is a mystery. The Sage toaster is still working and everything does what it should.

If you can spare the money, this is the best toaster out there!

Amazing. I have never enjoyed making toast so much! You still need to get used to the time setting depending on the type of bread you use and additional slices will toast a little quicker as it is already warm but that is where the quick look feature helps. Could do with a beep option to tell you when it is finished as the mechanism is such high quality you don’t hear it “popping” up. My children have taken to making their own toast now that I finally don’t mind doing it for them!

I love this toaster. My husband is disabled following a severe stroke and he has gained some independence by making his own toast safely. I like the options of various browning levels. The fruit loaf setting though, we no longer use as we found it burning due to high sugar content . Expensive yes. But a solid, reliable toaster.

Used a different version on holiday but this had better reviews. They are right, great for toast, crumpets crusts and from frozen. Expensive but worth it.

Brilliant toaster, looks great and the function buttons are really useful (I love the ‘a bit more’ button). My only negative comment about this toaster is that I could do with the slots being a bit longer but I think this is standard for all new toaster. We use fresh loaves from Sainsbury’s and they don’t fit in sideways and the bread pokes out of the top when its the right way up…this is where the ‘a bit more’ button comes in handy as I turn the bread round so its toasted all over!

Not sure why all the rave reviews on this one. I’m suffering from uneven heating elements so toast not cooked on both sides the same – perhaps just unlucky with the one I got. But the build quality feels light and flimsy too. The real reason Im writing a review here is the size of bread that can be toasted. Whilst it will accept thick bread you will have to cut largish bread to size if you want it entirely toasted.

Updating my review (stars 2 to 4)>>> this toaster is better than my first knee jerk reaction. I’ve come to live with cutting very large slices to size. The thickness of bread you can fit is ample – no problem with baguettes for example. The evenness of toasting also seems to have got better. So now no complaints!

Very pleased with this toaster doesn’t dry out the bread possibly could do with a louder finished warning would of given 5 stars only the price is high for a toaste

Nice feature is the progress lights. Toasts evenly and well.
Pricey and some wag suggested it was a cut price time machine a while ago. Have yet to discover that button but in the meantime the toast is lovely.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis toaster is wonderful, amazing and pretty too. Not a lurking presence on my work top but an item of beauty and with wonderful little features like a button that says “A BIT MORE” and another one saying “A QUICK LOOK”. Easy to use, with slots that are wide enough and you can use the toaster as a 4 slice or only half of it as a two slice toaster. I love the way the toast gently elevates and most importantly is beautifully cooked. Timing is easily variable and this is such an improvement on the ugly Duralit ones.
Easily five star, I love it.

No more burnt toast! Perfect toast at a push a button!! The “a bit more facility is great for adjusting your toast to your personal preference. A fantastic buy!

  34. Anonymous says:

    Here’s why:
    Toasts well and consistently even.
Quick look function that raises the toast to see how it’s doing without interrupting the overall timing.
Little bit more function if your toast needs…a little bit more.
An LED light indicator that measures the time left.
Automatic rise and drop – no more pushing down repeatedly.
Fantastic brushed finish which is easy to clean and provides a cool wall.

I know from reading elsewhere that this is a brand from Breville and some people take umbrage with this but if a manufacturer decides to offer a premium product via another channel and it delivers then surely thats shrewd and should be applauded with the subsequent improvements filtering through to all elements of the business?

The only downside is the price and this will ultimately be how the toaster is measured. I’m hoping for 5 years of use for my money – watch this space!

is that as it doesn’t have a traditional lever on it I am a little concerned that there are a lot of things that could go wrong with it! It works really quickly though, looks great in our modern kitchen, is of good quality and gets lots of oohs and ahhs from out friends. We are very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI won’t repeat what’s already been said, so here’s my brief list of pros “neutral points” and cons:

    Pros:
    – Independently controlled slots (two pairs) which means you can toast different items at once, or leave them pre-set to however you like.
    – Wide slots. If you love your doorsteps then this toaster will amply accommodate your extra girth!
    – Countdown. If you’re impatient like me, you’ll appreciate the countdown LEDs at the front which show you how long you’ll have to wait before you can cram deliciously toasted delights into your impatient face.
    – Even toasting. So far, everything I’ve toasted has come out really evenly. Hopefully this won’t change over time….

    “Neutral” points:
    – “A little bit more”. Handy, but I think once you’ve got the timings right, you won’t really use this feature much (unless you frequently use different types of bread).
    – Quick look. Same as above. It’s a handy feature, but once you’ve got the timings spot-on for your usual breads, you won’t really need to check on it.

    Cons:
    – Size. The toaster is quite deep, which meant I had to re-arrange my counter tops so it wasn’t wasting too much space (it’s now angled in the corner). Something to bear in mind I guess.
    – Odd shaped bread. I’m not sure if I’ve seen this mentioned anywhere else (perhaps it’s just me being picky?) but a bog-standard slice of factory bread won’t fit vertically, you have to lay it on its side. For those of you who have bread makers, this “may” be an issue if you bake XL loaves (which result in tall slices). I’ve not had a chance to test this yet, but I have recently bought a Panasonic bread maker, so I guess I’ll find out soon enough!
    – Price? There’s no mistaking that this is a premium priced toaster…. I shall be expecting toasted perfection for many years to come!

Overall, being a bit of a breakfast fiend, I think I can justify the extra money I threw at this toaster. If you’re perhaps a more casual breakfast eater and have limited counter-top space, your hard earned cash might be better spent on a lesser-model (maybe the 2 slot model!)
