Well it’s a sleek design. Took about 5 minutes to put the back support and the legs on right. First impressions was how do I turn it on. After 2 mins of reading I worked it out. If you are using it for your Xbox series x or ps5. Your console will not automatically discover your right frame rate. You need to go in to the menu bar on your monitor to turn switch between the right gram rate and make your you turn on gsync. Put on far cry 5 . The best one.and everything felt clear to view. I do rate this monitor. You don’t need to go to settings on your monitor to do a software update to get the most out of it.

First the curve is not that bad visually. How is affects content is another story. I primarily purchased this for HDR on Xbox, unfortunately the monitor must be 4K to enable HDR so wasn’t useful for intended purpose.

The Samsung G7 Odyssey is hands down the best monitor I have ever tried. Although it utilises a VA panel, the black smearing is non-existent, a real win for Samsung. “Adaptive Sync” (which covers both g-sync and free-sync) is excellent, with neither having and problems with flashing, stuttering or tearing. The refresh rate (if you can run that high) truly makes a difference in almost every game I have played, coupled with the low response times and input latence really make this an excellent choice for gaming. After a short period you also stop noticing the curve, it just feels incredibly immersive as you play.
In terms of video, TV and movie watching, it really knocks it out of the park once again. The high contrast ratios pared with the almost perfect out-of-the-box coverage of sRGB colours makes watching anything on this monitor a real dream, with beautiful blacks and bright, popping colours.
If I had to cherry-pick, and find something I didn’t enjoy about this monitor, it would be it’s HDR. With a rating of HDR600 I didn’t really expect anything all that impressive, and I was right. Colours feel washed out and pale, brightness feels uniform, and the blacks are worse here than on sRGB. This is partly due to its backlighting and mediocre local dimming zones. My panel does have rather noticeable “backlight bleed” which can be distracting if staring at a black image. But I was playing fast paced, bright games, so I had no issues here.
Overall this monitor is not the best in the world, it certainly has its issues, but if you can find this on sale down by 50-100, then I can hardly say no to you buying one. Excellent picture quality, refresh rate, colours, response times and ergonomics make this a great choice for the enthusiast gamer or content creator. Well done Samsung.

Great monitor, for gaming and work. Enough screen space to split 2 pages and read comfortably. The only criticism is when you turn on hdr in windows it makes the picture worse imho

I’ve ordered a brand new monitor but instead I get it with one of the parts broken, although it is nothing major but I would still prefer receiving my items as brand new since I paid for it. But other than this little mishap, the monitor is grea

    Not brand new

Absolutely amazing monitor G7 32″ 240hz 1440p Curved. Wish I had bought one sooner. Well worth the money. Colours are lovely and vibrant and gaming on this beast is unbelievable! Glad I didn’t go to the expense for a 4k monitor. No stuck pixels. Looks the part and makes 1 of my other monitors look poor beside it (will have to replace it with another Samsung). G-Sync is amazing. The only thing I didn’t realise at 1st was that I had to go into the monitors own menu to change the hz setting as its shipped set at 60hz and I wanted the full 240hz…once changed it then shown up in the windows display menu..doh! All I can say is….BUY this you won’t be disappointed

    AWESOME!!

Just what the headline said. It’s a great monitor for gaming and other content consumption. The curve really does feel very natural and is very comfortable to view. HDR makes the colors pop and is just such a delight. The only downside for this monitor is that the viewing angles aren’t great so it’s not good for watching movies as a group. But if it’s used just as a monitor, you can’t go wrong with this one. 🙂

Absolutely perfect. Bought it for my new PC. And it is simply perfect. Picture quality and game related performance are both incredible. It was very easy to put together and required minimal set up to get that proper crystal, pinsharp picture quality. If your considering buying – just buy it already. You won’t be disappointed

Best Monitor I’ve had. Not 4k but a good resolution that won’t hammer your graphics card, HDR works really well considering it’s not an OLED. After a little adjustment to colour games looked stunning.

The image quality on this monitor is perfect.. it just is.

To get the best refresh rate you NEED to use DisplayPort which still throws your windows about should you ever need to turn the monitor off ( or resume from the Windows lock screen), but it takes FOREVER (legit ~20 seconds) to come back from DisplayPort standby and it often FREEZES my entire computer while it figures itself out.
You are provided with a plastic cover for the back ports (HDMI,DP etc..) [which is optional to put on] but it is made out of the cheapest plastic possible and will break very easily.

The On-Screen Display is quite nice to use.

There are many things perfect with this monitor and my main gripes don’t affect my enjoyment of the picture quality.

I never experienced so fast and clear picture in my life. For a VA panel its the fastest one you can by so far. No ghosting no black smearing its just awesome. No light bleed and every reported problem just wasnt present with my panel.5/5 stars for me

I have been heavily into monitors and after using a LG gl850 and it dying on me I wished to purchase a upgrade. And boy oh boy is this one. The monitor is a beast. Clean. I think there are a few things to say here.

The curve – some people will like it and some will hate it. Just like marmite. I thought initially I would hate it however as soon as received it I loved it. The curve does not bother me in anyway and being that I’m in front of my screen all the time I barely even notice. Even when watching movies from afar it’s great.

Display – great however as stated above these monitors are prone to having scan lines. I have currently had two of these monitors and all I have had is scan lines on cyan colours and bright colours at the top left of my screen. However these do not appear when on a moving picture so I’ll take it. You can try play the panel lottery of trying to find a panel without scanlines but that’s up to you, how much time you wish to spend – hence the lottery. The colours are great and not as saturated as the lg high end gaming panels but honestly a beautiful clean panel. Now being that this is a VA panel there are some local dimming zones. This literally competes with current IPS panels. However one down fall is that when watching movies that are in different aspect ratios you will see that dimming not working properly on some of the zones and therefore giving a light bleed effect. As I said this monitor is a beast. But even a beast has its draw backs. Display however is amazing and with 240hz and crystal clear 1440p it’s great. I have noticed some ghosting however so keep that in mind. Nothing major.

The design. The stand is amazing. A proper cable tidying system built into the monitor stand, I love it as it allows for a clean set up. Keep in mind that the stand is big for this monitor so make sure you have enough room. The ambient lighting isn’t distracting either. You have a choice of some colours however I stick with static red for mine due it matching my sennheiser set up. You’ll get away with it not looking overly gamish. There is a small bezel around the monitor so if you’re looking to dual monitor these it won’t be completely seamless.

Overall so far, I love this monitor. 240hz 1440p I can’t go wrong. Even with its draw backs it’s still the best you can buy and being that it’s only competitor is Alienware with their 1440p 240hz IPS panel, at least these monitors are in stock and are cheaper. Pull the trigger and see if you like it. HDR and so on I have seen as being useless but that’s not exactly my remit.

Easy to unbox and install, instructions were mainly diagrams so not lots of stuff to read through.

Windows 10 setup was interesting. At first, I was wowed by the quality, image clarity, response times, all via the calibrated factory settings. Then, by using the easy to use and navigate OSD menu (there is just one clickable joystick at the bottom of the screen), I was able to experiment with the various settings, including some of the more “sought after” features: adaptive sync (tested as totally G-Sync compatible with my Nvidia RTX graphics card), my new first-hand experiences with HDR gaming and viewing motivated me to do a bit of “research” on these technologies…

After a couple of days of occasional tweaking settings, based on “expert opinions” as well as my own liking, I found out how to use specific settings (a combination of Windows 10 settings, Nvidia settings and OSD settings) for the perfect picture – depending on the work or gaming I was doing.

Material and build quality is great. I’m loving the curve (my first curved monitor), it feels so much more natural at 1000R, but opinions on this may differ.

    I’m a very happy custome

My son is very happy with sumsung g7 odyssey curved monitor But the stand feet to me are way to much very long feet you will need a decent size desk just for the stand. Apart from that very good would have put 5 stars if not for the stand be way to big

Great Monitor love the picture quality great setup out of the box, The curve is great but some people may prefer a bit more of a subtle one. I have it setup up with my XBOX Series X which allows 120 hz at 1440p. All in all i highly recommend to any Gamer.

Great contrast, the image looks much sharper and clearer than the IPS panel! The response time is great and the movement looks very smooth.
The disadvantage is that the color uniformity of the screen is not very good, causing some solid-color interfaces to have visible edges and whitening, especially when you open some interfaces/software with a gray overall appearance.
The aggressive curve is indeed ergonomic, but you need some time to get used to it.
The stand looks too cumbersome, but this ensures that the monitor can stand stably on the desktop. It is best to buy a vesa stand to make the desktop more tidy.
The HDR effect is great, but the brightness is not enough to make some highlights stand out. Overall, it’s great value for money!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought the 32″ G7 for use with my gaming PC and was not disappointed. 32″ seems to be the sweet spot for gaming, big enough to sit back with a controller and play shooters but not so big you can’t get up close with a wheel and play driving sims or mouse and keyboard play for RTS games (or for those that favour M&K anyway. I actually moved from playing on a 4k monitor to this one which is 1440p and I can barley notice the difference graphics wise, in fact my 4K was 28″ and I prefer the bigger 32″ 1440p look to be honest. Great refresh rate especially with the included display port wire (it was a little short I had to buy a longer one), COD Warzone and F12020 runs like hot butter. My only real complaint and something to note is there strange distance of the mounting holes, they’re not 100×100 or even 7575, more like 7545 which is weird so finding a mounting system other than the stand included in the box is challenging as they’re not your standard vesa mount.

Have chosen the Samsung G7 for its high refresh rate and curved screen which is ideal for my gaming style. Whether 1080p or 1440p the picture quality is perfect for my needs. I have been impressed by the build and screen quality which I was a little concerned would be compromised as this is one seriously spec’d monitor for the money and whilst there are others on the market seems to be excellent value for money

Great monitor. I stepped down from 4k as I wanted a better performance (hz) for the games I was playing.
In all honesty you need to look very close to the screen to see the difference side by side… Quality of this panel is absolutely top notch. But of course there are some points to nitpick about like back-light sometimes bleeding during certain parts like back screen and mouse cursor. You can see the edges of the screen light up. But 99% of the time I do not notice it as your immersed into the game.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersA lot of people overlook a monitor when building a PC, heck some of my friends have used the same monitor for over a decade, certainly I hadn’t upgraded my monitor in around the same time – so it was with trepidation that I went for the top end Odyssey in 27 inchs. Thankfully however all the excellent reviews on the internet have proven to be true, the Odyssey is a really phenomenal screen.

It took more assembling then expected, you will need a screwdriver and it has a large power-brick to take into consideration, but once its on the desk (and it certainly takes up some space!) it looks astonishing, with its sweeping curve. It has two little front facing lights below the screen and a large light on the back, they can be easily customized. These look great unless you are the one sitting in front of the screen so I rarely have them on.

With the curve, viewing angles for others are poor (if you are couch co-op for example) but for one player, its amazing immersion, games such as Elite Dangerous, Genshin Impact, Forza Horizons 4 and Homeworld (games with great color/lighting) look particularly phenomenal.

The monitor supports up to 240Hz, but the simple fact is most games don’t reach such lofty heights (yet) and to hit those numbers on the 2K resolution will need a beefy graphics card (which are all out of stock). With my 1070Ti I’m hitting frame rates between 60 and 120 and thats good enough (for now). Note if you want to use G-Sync or benefit from the higher resolution you will probably have to use a DisplayPort rather then a HDMI cable.

Note this monitor does not have speakers of any kind. It does have a useful wire controller that goes down the stand. There are some USB ports and a headphone jack in the monitor but I don’t use these. The UI interface in the monitor is easy to use and lets you change between a number of settings, however its good to go from the start in my opinion. No dead pixels on my screen.

In conclusion, this is an amazing bit of tech, for the price its worth it, if you are used to a ‘standard’ monitor, it will transform your games, films and TV shows for the better. Enjoy.

The monitor is fantastic overall after I tested against my PC and PS5. If you’re buying this solely for the HDR element for next gen console gaming, then don’t as it simply isn’t playable.

HDR on console is a big issue with this monitor. When in use and HDR active on my PS5 it’s far too dark to the point it’s unplayable. Although you shouldn’t be using a monitor for console gaming for its HDR aspect, turn HDR off on the console then select RGB output to full or max and you’ll get a picture as good or better than HDR on this monitor.

Also getting a 144hz output on PS5 with full 240HZ on PC which is fantastic.

No flickering, no ghosting, no or Very little back light bleed either. The curve takes a while to get used to but after a while you don’t even notice it. I have a 3090 so i can run 240fps in a lot of games. If i can’t reach 240fps then i can just make it 144hz and still have amazimg gaming experience.

It combines the speed of my super fast 25 inch monitor with the picture quality of my 27 inch flat monitor in a curved, wide screen package. Playing first person shooters on this panel is a real joy, it’s super fast, responsive and smooth and it offers a real wow factor, especially if you’re running a graphics card capable of maximising its potential.

Basically the best of all worlds in one excellent package, the only slightly negative thing I’ve found is the pixel density isn’t quite as sharp as in my 27 inch 1440p screen obviously, but its worth it in my opinion for a bigger, faster, immersive screen which will make me very happy for a long time.
