I am really sad to be returning this product as I think it is a really good product. It was so easy to make hot chocolate and matcha lattes. And at the perfect temparature too! Also, it looks great and is easy to clean! However, it did not froth Oat milk. I also tried the barrista version but barely any foam/froth. It would be great if Severin improved on the little frother ring…..
The only reason I got hooked to milk frothing is because of the nespresso frother at work. So I have now purchased the Nespresso one. Hoping that it will do the job.

Has to replace my 5 yr old Nespresso aerocino after I accidentally melted it on the stove, but I was never 100% happy with it anyway (you had to be so so vigilant to keep the Teflon clean from burnt milk) so was happy to shop for a replacement.

Can do large volume in the stainless steel jug. Good for me as I like a large cup of milky coffee as my breakfast.
And the temperature is definitely hot enough for me, and scalding hot milk would ruin the taste of the coffee. I’m not sure why people are moaning about that.

Not enough foam
The foam is not enough. It only makes foam for whole milk. Skim milk almost no foam. Other frothers produce more foam than this one. However is really easy to use.

I love this milk frother, it’s so easy to clean unlike my last Nespresso frother and it heats up enough gorgeously frothy milk for approximately four cups of coffee.

Good but unreliable
I loved this frother to start with, very easy to use and clean but after about 3 weeks it suddenly stopped frothing even though it was still going round. Sent is back and was refunded within 3 days. Great customer service.
Excellent! We use it for hot chocolate and it makes it a perfect temperature to drink. Had it nearly 5 years now, still working as new. Highly recommended.

Amazing milk frothe
I have tried a couple of these products, and my main problem was temperature of the milk, and over frothing, so you end up with just tepid foam
Now this product is amazing, hot milk and good milk to foam ratio. Awesome, just awesome coffees
This is a wonderful frother. It has a great consistency which is smooth but frothy and the technology is superior to others. I say this because I used to have a Nespresso frother. Not bad, but I didn’t use it much. For two main reasons. One was that the milk turned out frothy on top and watery at the bottom. No matter which whisk I used. The other issue was that there was always burnt milk at the bottom. This was annoying to clean. I didn’t mind it’s was handwash only, but the fact that I had to somehow scrape burnt milk without scratching it was annoying.
Now the Severin:
It’s superior to other products (in my opinion) because:
1. Uses induction heating – this means no burnt milk at the bottom
2. Easy to clean – you just take it out and either put it in the dishwasher or handwash. It’s very simple.
3. The milk is actually consistent. Just like in good coffee shops. This is key. Because otherwise you’re having bubbly milk mixed with watery milk. Is this a real problem? Ok not really but if you’re going to substitute outside coffee at home, you need to have it the way you want.
I would whole heartedly suggest buying this product. It’s pricier – but it’s made better, is easier to use, clean and you get a better outcome.
A great upgrade to my existing milk frother. This is great as there’s an audible sound when temperature is reached. Can froth enough for two cups of coffee too. Easy to rinse.
Efficient and lovely produc
I love this product as it’s simple and easy to clean! Looks good ; and so far used everyday and no issues – PERFECT and worth extra cost if you love milky coffees! No issue with temp as you shouldn’t have coffee boiling!
Good machine
This makes excellent froth and is so easy to clean compared to my previous Krups machine. Would have given 5 stars, but I don’t find the milk comes out hot enough for the cappuchino. So I preheat my coffee cups with boiling water while the coffee machine is working, and then the coffee stays hot enough. If the Severin heated the milk enough this should not be necessary at all. But it is still a very good coffee frother! Thanks to a previous reviewer who said they did this.

Happy with this and works well for hot chocolate too
Much better than the Nespresso Aeroccino thing because you can make a bigger volume, milk doesn’t burn on to the bottom, you can put hot chocolate mix straight in it and it goes in the dishwasher. Do what that other reviewer says and fluff once at 45 deg then once at 65 deg to get perfect flat white milk – doesn’t take longer than the aeroccino. Would be great if you could get extra jugs at a sensitive price so one can be in the wash – they only seem to be available at quite a high price from Germany. But that’s a small thing really.

This is brilliant machine and I love it! My old milk frother heated the milk from the base and although it was supposed to be non-stick inside it would regularly burn the milk on the base and was difficult to clean. This one works by induction and doesn’t burn or at least it hasn’t done so yet! It even rinses clean in cold water. Worth every single penny I paid for it. Only criticism is I wish they had a black/chrome finish option as this would go better with my kitchen worktop but the white finish is a small price to pay for such a fabulous frother.

Great frothier, but now not frothing
I loved the frothier, it worked really well and was easy to clean etc. But, now after using it for a year, maybe once or twice a week, it will no longer froth. What to do? It does have a two year guarantee, but I can’t see how to send it for repairs??? Help!
only problem is we are having troubles with the smooth wheel it will not go round think something is wrong with it, when you do hot milk you have to keep lifting the wheel up to make it go round, the frother wheel works grea

It works very well but be warned – this thing is big! German engineering means it is solid and impressive, though possibly without a sense of humour. On the other hand I imagine it will last forever. Clever design means it is dishwasher proof and big enough to put a Bavarian beer in.

Absolutely love tgis. use it every day. Only one problem it is quite noisy. There is a rim round the lid so I have put a thhick plastic band round this to help deaden the noise. Maybe there should be a band there as there is a groove.

Best frother I've had
If you can afford it, buy it. The best milk frother I’ve had. Previously I had the ones that are one unit, the motor underneath, and the cup for milk on top. I’ve found they burn the milk a bit so that it sticks and has to soak to clean every time it’s used. Being one complete unit, they can’t be put into water, either. This one doesn’t burn at all, and as it’s detachable, can be washed properly anyway. If you froth milk, then let it settle for a minute or so, the warm milk moves to the bottom of the jug, and the froth on top is as thick as Mr Whippy can produce!

I bought one of these for myself three years ago and it still works perfectly. It’s VERY good quality. Easily heats and foams the milk. The main benefits for me are that A) it is incredibly easy to clean unlike the nespresso milk frother that came with my coffee machine B) It heats a large amount of milk, easily enough for two large coffees.
I lost the lid for this about 2 years ago, but a small plate does the job.

I bought this in 2013 after reading countless reviews and watching dozens of videos on how to simply and quickly froth milk at home.
This is the best solution I have found!
You can use semi-skimmed milk, but you get better froth with full-fat milk.
With sufficient milk to make two decent sized cappuccinos there is a perfect froth to warm-milk ratio.
As you increase the total amount of milk to the maxiumum, the amount of froth increases, but the ratio is then more suitable for 3 or 4 lattes.
Cadbury’s drinking chocolate is best for sprinkling on top! Use a teaspoon and tap gently to get the power to fall evenly across the froth.
(TIP: Watch some professional Barrista Videos eg: Costa …on making different types of coffees, and learn how to make a good strong coffee shot, and how to condition/pour the milk and froth! – This will make a huge difference to your finished result.

What a fantastic frothier this is for the price. Good German build quality has a real robust feel to it all together a great design. Frothing is easy and depending on which type of milk you use will determine how much froth you get. Strangely Severin recommend UHT milk which I have not tried as I don’t like it.
Standard semi skimmed milk gives good results with a good amount of froth for a latte and whole milk full fat gives the most froth ideal for a cappuccino. The machine heats the milk to a perfect temperature for coffee and will never burn or overheat the milk. Cold frothing is also possible if desired. 2 types of head are supplied one for frothing and one if you are just heating the milk, these are very easily set up and are stored cleverly at the back of the machine so they don’t get lost. The machine takes under 3 minutes to heat and froth up the milk if filled to the max level which is just enough for 2 average size cups of coffee. The machine is easy to clean and the holder is dishwasher safe. So overall I am delighted with this gadget and have been making some fantastic coffees and also using the monin syrups to add flavour e.g caramel and hazelnut lattes. I can recommend this produc

Bought this as a present after a long research. Really happy so far with the foam quality and temperature. It takes about 2-3 minutes to complete and a beeping sound will let you know when it is done. Online I have seen people not happy about the temperature with other products as well but maybe they don’t know that when you make a capuccino, the milk doesn’t have to be extremely hot at all. I have used soy milk and the result was excellent! 🙂

Really really good. Very easy to clean. The top part comes off and is much bigger than it looks as it sits in the bottom part! Easily makes enough foam for two cups. Will make cold milk as well. Instructions say, for a better foam use the cold function first. I have used both and it does make a slightly firmer foam, but the normal heat function is really good anyway

The best machine in the kitchen. Just add some Cadbury’s hot chocolate powder to get an amazing drink. The only thing which can catch you out is that it does have a safety mechanism that prevents use on hot (maximum heat) more than once during a short period (i.e. until it cools).

I have been using this for a while and truly love it and it still works as well as it did months ago when I bought it. I can now not have a cup of coffee without using the severin frother whether using instant or ground coffee. The size means you can also froth enough for more than two cups and vary the temperature of the milk. So simple to use and easy to wash. I have bought a lot of other frothers-all a waste of money. It even works better than my expresso coffee machine.

Although I’m more of a fan of espressos than milky drinks, there are times when only a cappuccino or a flat white will do. Unless you’re highly skilled with the steam wand, getting the proper “microfoam” is difficult, and the chance of overheating the milk is high. The Severin induction frother solves the problem completely, giving beautiful microfoam every time. The jug and whisk take only moments to clean, and it never gets close to burning the milk.
An initial froth on the cold setting, followed by a run at 60C or 65C makes a fabulous cappuccino. The medium setting (55C) is perfect for flat white and “latte art”.
I know that there are those who demand a boiling hot milky coffee. That’s not what this machine is for. You can create such a drink by microwaving half a cup of milk, adding the espresso shot, then spooning a little foam from the Severin on the top, but the milk in the Severin jug below the foam won’t be hot enough.
This machine has a permanent place on our counter alongside the coffee machine itself. Highly recommended.

Excellent just what I wanted although would like it a little hotter but got round that by filling my cup with boiling water first until the milk reached 65deg (highest temperature it will go) than it was perfect!
Great product. Froths the milk really well. Very easy to clean – goes in the dishwasher although a quick rinse under the tap is pretty effective. I use it for making hot chocolate too – just add the chocolate powder in with the milk and it all gets mixed up, using the non-frothing stirring attachment.

wanted a frothier big enough to make a hot chocolate for kids as well as nice cappuccinos for quests. Yes it is bigger than nespresso equivalent but its worth it. easy to clean. if filled to the top it takes time and couple of repeat clicks to produce good foam. using for 4 months now and never had any issues with it.

Very please with this frother. Its quite expensive, but I had an Aeroccino before and it started burning on the non-stick surface at the bottom – just got worse and worse. With this one the induction system and the stainless steel surface seem a much better idea – so far so good. But a bit surprised that there is no support/repair agent in the UK so if it goes wrong things may be difficult.
A fantastic and extremely useful kitchen gadge
I love this milk warmer and it is definitely worth the price. It is easy to use, and to clean as the milk does not get scalded given the temperature range. The best part is I can control the temperature to suit my needs. It is a small gadget that improves the quality of my life, both in terms of enjoying milk at the right temperature and the ease of cleaning. I am going to get one for my son to take to university.

Great device! We visited friends in Cholsey who made the most amazing coffees with it! Love that I can make whipped ‘cream’ out of cold milk (even skim) for an iced latte. Also like that I can melt chocolate shavings and add milk for a delcious hot chocolate. Also appreciate preset temps so that a not so hot chocolate can be made for young children.

It’s hot but the Krups aeroccino is hotter on the Citiz nespresso machines…I bought both together as I was fed up with semi hot milk, lattissima failed badley these combos are ok and do the job, the severin can do enough for two cups and you can also mix hot chocolate whilst it’s mixing

I bought this as an upgrade for the milk frother attached to my Nespresso coffee machine, which was proving disappointing. This is a fantastic upgrade, with a much bigger capacity and temperature selection that can make the milk much hotter. The jug is very easy to clean in the dishwasher or just rinsing under the tap.

Have had all sorts of milk frothers in the past, from the Nespresso to stove top hand pump ones, and this is an absolutely superb little machine. d skimmed milk works the best. It works in next to no time and beeps when frothed! Its so easy to clean, just a rinse under the tap and its sparkling. No need to use any type of non scratching pad, the milk residue just seems to disappear. I absolutely love the machine. Well worth the money and extremely easy to use and pour out the milk. Don’t bother with any other type of frother, just go for the best which in my opinion is this one! Clare
Very happy with the ease of use of this jug having had three of the supposedly non-stick variety which always end up with burnt milk sticking to them. Have used this jug daily now for a few weeks and it is totally easy to use and clean. What a joy!!
Had this a month now & deliberately delayed writing a review. A few people have complained of reliability issues but so far have had none.
Was looking for a replacement for our Aeroncino which as awful to clean & suffered from the scorched milk syndrome. With this defect in mind I studied ALL the milk frothers. I was surprised to learn that all the ones with a ‘non-stick’ coating scorched the milk. Stainless didnt. So this narrowed the field down considerably.
I decided to go for a 2 piece unit keeping the electronics in one section & the milk separate in another again with ease of cleaning in mind. The Severin is brilliant with the container section quickly cleaned with a quick rinse under the tap. It is also dishwasher safe.
As far as I am concerned, this is THE milk frother to go for. Maybe on the expensive side, but Amazon.de sell alot cheaper than UK. Also, they do a reduced capacity unit slightly cheaper.
Wanted a device to warm some milk at my office and was easy to clean. The unit has two small disks which rotate through magnets so lift out to leave a completely easily to clean steel interior. The smooth one gives a little froth which is enough for me. The serrated one produces an incredible amount compared to the amount of milk you put in.
A little bit noise in operation is the only downside.

Frothy milky drinks in a trice. This frother is every bit as good as the manufacturers promise. The jug rinses clean. It’s perfect.
After a long debate whether there was any point in investing in yet another kitchen gadget which would not be used very often, we were pleasantly surprised how good this frother was. The whole family enjoys using it, and even more, it is easy to clean!

Only downside, could not with one higher heat setting, although if you warm the cup first it better.

Very good product, but make sure you add the milk when the top is in the housing, or the whisking head jumps off. Makes excellent thick frothey milk

I cannot fault this item. Heats and froths the milk and is so easy to clean. Not cheap but the best never is!
