Good hoover really good suction puts my Dyson to shame. All in all pleased with purchase. Only negative thing is the clip that keeps hose in place is very weak and keeps coming away from handle. But this shouldn’t put you off.
It just works and does everything you need really well. I actually prefer it to the Dyson Animal which is now up for sale
The hose clip keeps popping out – tools are spot o
Fantastic purchase. Can’t see myself going back to a Dyson now. The suction power if first class and very easy to do the stairs etc with the detachable body. Only grumble is the mains cord length.
This is a wonderful price of equipment, I’ve always had Dyson but this beats the new versions hand down.
I love that it splits do you can use it to easily get cob webs and do the stairs etc, incredible suction. Light weight, I find it handles well on both hard floors and rugs.
The dust compartment is small by comparison but the other benefits out weigh that in my opinion, plus it’s small as it splits so it’s for good reason.
I highly recommend it. My house is much cleaner especially rugs!
Great value through Amazon’s deals too
Plus I know Amazon’s customer service is excellent if the retailer doesn’t resolve the problem Amazon dose!
Love love love my new hoover. Love it because I can adjust the suction as I move from carpet to hard floors. Love the light that lets you see dust in nooks that has likely been there for years. Love the price as it was an Amazon prime deal.
I have long hair and two long haired chihuahuas so we ‘cast’ a lot. Hoover brushes often get tangled. So much so that my Dyson needs cleaned regularly. Shark is definitely better at picking up hair and transferring it, via the brush, into the dust cylinder. It’s not perfect, and I still have had to pull some hair out of the brush every now and again, but no where near as much as with other hoovers I’ve had.
Very good suction power, a bit hard to manuver on the stairs and a bit on the heavy side. Not as noisy as the conventional vacuum cleaner and you can actually hear the other person talking to you whyle you vacuum
Great vacuum cleaner work really well the carpet look great bring back the pile
After years of having another well known hoover that I thought was great, I passed it on to my grandson and bought this shark hoover. I’m so pleased I did as it is far superior, didn’t realise how much dirt had been left in my carpets until I used this.
I haven’t tried the car attachment yet, but if the rest is anything to go by I’m sure it’ll be just fine.
Was on special offer 189 for corded anti hair wrap pet kit and lift away. Far better than Dyson. Lift away means better posture using wand on stairs and up high. Amazing anti hair wrap feature as I shed long hair ALL the time.
Manoeuvres easily. Easy empty and filter cleaning. No consumables. Long mains cord. Love it. Recommended round the family and others love it too.
I read reviews about Sharks vacuum cleaners. Generally the reviews are all positive. Amazon had an amazing special offer the other week. Too good to refuse. I made the right choice buying this product. Complete with a full tool kit this easy to use, powerful vacuum cleaner cleans our wooden floors and carpets with considerable ease. Detachable dust unit makes cleaning stairs and awkward areas easy. Connect the right additional tool off you go. So simple. Recommended.
I have always using Henry hover and never believed or tried anything else.
I bought this as a present for my GF as we had a deal to buy a strange and stupid present for each other’s so I bought her this hover and she was so upset as she thought now I’m going to be a house cleaner and that’s why you choose this present, so she didn’t touch the hover for a month and she didn’t as keep using Henry and she doesn’t like it as it is heavy for her , specially for the stairs, so finally she opened a box and she used The Shark Hover and guess what? She absolutely love it and she said that it was one of the best present ever so I won the challenge of buying the stupid present, but actually we both won as I love this hover to, after hovering with Henry, you won’t believe how much dirt this hover can pick up from carpet, so if you want to take care of your new or old carpet, then please buy this, I have already recommended to all my family and friends and I would definitely recommend to anyone who read the reviews. I don’t normally write reviews but I thought it may help other people to, that’s why I did and also wrote my own personal example
Definitely 5*****
I got my Shark to replace my Dyson which I had had 20+ years and. couldn’t get the model Dyson I wanted. I am delighted with the resulting cleaning of my Shark and would recommend it to anyone.
This is the best vacuum yet the suction is great and you can control this big advantage .
Does the stairs with tool and the car cleaning kit is the best every little crevice clean now
I’d heard shark vacuums were good, i just didn’t expect it to be this good, it’s so powerful it’s hard to push at full power because of the suction strength, great for people with pets.
I’ve used a Dyson for the past 15 years, I read a lot of positive reviews about the Shark. I have to say it’s all been true for me. Fantastic suction, love the adaptive system that comes apart. Light on the front a great addition for corners and objects. It is also heavy, the same as my animal D50 Dyson but that’s not an issue for me, it’s also light when taken apart to use in sections.
It’s a great bit of kit, makes the job of hoovering a pleasure, easy to use of the stairs and the attachments are really handy and stored on the machine. Very light and easy to manoeuvre. Easy to change from carpet to hard floor and everything is easy to change. Only down side is the dirt tank isn’t very big but can cope as the rest is really good
This is a very powerful vacuum cleaner. Very efficient, light and time saving. I am really happy with my purchase.
Upgraded to this Shark after having a Henry Hoover for the past 20 odd years. Utterly amazed at how much cat fur, sand, and general dirt that it pulled out of my living room carpet, the day after I’d hoovered it with Henry! Very very happy with this.
I love my shark hoover it’s easy to use and does a brilliant job in cleaning the house. I bought it as part of amazon’s star buys and saved myself a lot of money. I can highly recommend this hoover.
After owning a dyson for 5 years you could see the happiness on my face when emptyied this shark. Anyone who’s owned a dyson ball will know the struggle of emptying it, for 5 years I’ve had to stick my hand in to empty it, a major design flaw on dysons part but you can tell they are not bothered about it so back to the shark, first use, I wanted to see if the reviews where right so used my old dyson just before this arrived and I happily say they where right it picked up so much that the dyson left behind, next it was time to do the stairs. Not nearly as easy as people make out but still definitely easier than the dyson lift away is definitely a game changer. I finally did all the bedrooms, landing, stairs and two rooms with floors and I was definitely pleased with my purchase. At 190 on sale it is definitely definitely worth that price but the original price of over 300 is way over priced in my opinion. Comes with extra accessories like car detailing kit which actually comes very handy.
Now the cons.
1. The cord is shorter than the dyson, I used to love that about the dyson, just plug it in and forget about it, with the shark I’m having to find the closest socket. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not short but shorter than the dysons.
2. Cord placement, seems like an after thought, the cord outlet is on the left side and so is the outlet for the main pipe, when putting back it all just seems cluttered on one side, the whole of the right side of the dust tank area is literally free, in my opinion they should’ve used one side for cord and the other for the main pipe. The cord when tying up doesn’t feel as snug as the dyson.
3. A clip on the main pipe, apparently its for convenience but it’s more of a nuisance than anything else.
4. Accessorie placement / storage. The whole thing is class but this one issue let’s it down, the way you put the accessories just feels very flimsy, cheap and tacky, oh BTW you can store two accessories on it ( remember the original price of over 300 and with that in mind these short cuts are unacceptable, 190 not so bad)
It may seem like I’m nit picking but I have to keep in mind that not everyone will purchase this product on sale like me. You may just be in market looking for a vacuum and take a liking to this and by no means is this a bad vacuum in fact I’m overjoyed with its performance and features. Hope this helps you make your mind and if it does then smack that “helpful” butto
The shark upright cleaner is not the easiest to Handle but it does have very good suction and is multi functional and
Has a variety of useful tools.
We live in apartment so cannot pass judgement on stair use.
I love everything about my shark vacuum. Cleaning has became a joy with little powerful machine. No more backbreaking cleaning of stairs. I have a dog who’s hair gets everywhere, not a problem with my new shark. Highly recommend, although a bit pricey, worth every penny.
Found the suction to be great, atleast much higher than our old Dyson. It is very quiet too. The lights in the main brush tool are quite bright and useful.
It is great to manoeuvre and cleans very well on both hard floor and carpets. Stairs however, I tried using the pet attachment and found it to be very loud, the liftway really was helpful on the stairs.
The hose has a small circular lock which does not hold the hose very well to the wand and the hose keeps coming loose.
Really good hoover. It is on the heavy side, but I love it’s versatility. You can adjust it for carpet and hard flooring with a switch and then the suction power with a “dial” just below that.
The bin does seem smallish but it does my whole house without needing emptied.
Bonus is my toddler loves it…literally. she runs up to it to give it cuddles and pets and waves hello in the morning (insisting we bring it out to do so). I honestly think she loves it more than me!
It works very well can’t fault that BUT ITS VERY HEAVY which is the drawback can’t carry it upstairs
Been using a Henry for last few years. Treated myself to a shark just vac’d the house!! I’m obsssssssssesssed!!! The amount of crud hair and filth this vac just pulled out of my carpet is absolutely insane! If your reading the comment and still undecided maaaaate!!!!! Seriously!!! BUY ONE!!! Thank me later !!!
This vacuum cleaner is easy to manoeuvre, suction like limpet yet easy to push over carpet or hard floors, impressed by how it picks up against skirting and in corners, nothing left behind. Had high end expensive Dyson and Vax cleaners, still got them, but this knocks them out the park such that they’re now relegated to outdoor jobs only. Excellent vacuum cleaner and well worth the money
Best ever sucking up pet hair . Used it for the first time after I had finished using the dyson , could not believe how much it picked up and to be honest the carpets looked new
This hoover picks up everything, quick to assemble, easy to use. Fantastic for pet lover. Absolutely love the stairs attachment, cleaned up the cat hair from the sofa easily. You do have to empty it often but I personally do not mind as that stops the hoover from smelling. Star buy highly recommended
I already have a Shark cleaner. My daughter’s cleaner broke so I bought this one for her. She is pleased with it.
Love the anti hair wrap feature. I have long hair and was always having to clean my old one.
Also love the fact that I can take it to bits and use so many different combinations. Doing the stairs is now a doddle. I can carry it up as I go instead if struggling to balance the old one in each step. The length of cord means I can plug it in and do the whole staircase. I’m very impressed with this vac.
This is a great vacuum, even though I’d already hoovered the carpet the day before we got this, it got up a lot!
It’s easy to assemble, easy to use, does several different things, gets under pretty much everything and empties easily.
My only regret is I didn’t get it sooner!
As most things these days, this vacuum cleaner arrived in many, well packed pieces, but was very easily assembled. I does come with a well written instruction book. It is much better than the old cleaner that it replaced and is also better built being of German manufacture. I would consider that this is one of the best vacuum cleaners on the market today. Highly recommended.
I have spent 10 years with a Dyson that now sounds like a wheezing jet turbine. So needing a new vacuum I wanted reasonably priced with good manoeuvrability.
I have known about Shark for a while and always liked the look of them. So I took this chance to get one but there is so much choice I wasn’t sure where to start.
Amazon had a good deal on this model and it had many features I wanted especially the ability to create a light weight hand carry vacuum that can be used around stairs with ease. With an added bonus of attachments for the car and pet hair.
The build quality is very good. As with any vacuum cleaner it is plastic but feels solid and took a tumble down the stairs with ease ( won’t do that again )
The auction power is very good, can lift carpets and pull up well worn in debris out of the carpets. This is a new vacuum though so time will tell if this lasts.
The hose stretches well and is easy to hold and when you take off the main unit from the floor cleaning section it becomes super easy to manoeuvre around a room as so light.
Even the LED lights have been useful for low down and late night cleaning which I didn’t expect.
The best feature though is the design. Removing the main using for a light weight carry vacuum. An easy to remove dust collector and filters mean maintenance on the vacuum is really quick and simple.
That sums up the genius of this vacuum. A well designed and thought out lightweight machine that is as if not more capable than machines costing twice as much. Actually enjoy cleaning now. ( don’t tell the other half ).
I am enjoying using this Shark vacuum, it does everything I need. It’s the best vacuum I’ve owned since my Vorwerk expired many years ago. I have owned several big names since, none of which did what it said on the box.
Only issue is it is really heavy, but great suction and easy to use on flat surfaces
love that it’s so quiet too
Easy to empty
After having a Dyson for many years I was reticent about changing brands. However this cleaner is excellent. I particularly like the suction power control as it makes vacuuming thick carpets less like an uphill hike. Really sucks.
I couldn’t be happier with this particular model of Shark Vacuum, it’s so versatile and the cord length is excellent so you don’t have to keep changing sockets, attachments are very useful, just all round excellent vacuum and far more affordable than a dyson.
I absolutely love this hoover and when it arrived I initially thought it was going to be bigger because of the size of the box
But no its due to everything being wrapped up like presents and compared to my previous vax cylinder hoovers which were a nightmare to use especially to get the filters out
This one is amazingly better in every way possible
Yes it’s slightly more expensive
But it’s worth it
The cord is alot longer too which means that we don’t need to unplug it to clean all the areas
The only thing I do miss is the button to press to put the cord back i
Really surprised how easy the Shark was to put together, and how quickly it can be altered from upright to liftaway, and then able to remove the wand and connect the handle direct to the head to do the stairs. My husband’s car is always a nightmare to clean but the liftaway with the addition of the normal tools and car kit made it far easier.I
Replacing a Dyson DC08 and a 1400 watt Hoover with a 700 watt Shark my biggest surprises were it’s powerful and so much quieter and it picks up my long hair really well and the comb works!
I found the bin a little small, but got round that by taking a bin bag with me and emptying as I went, rather than constantly having to go up and down stairs or out to the bins. The handle is a little bulky making it difficult to get into tight spaces, would be useful to remove handle and connect tools direct to the hose, but if that’s the only thing I haven’t found a work round for then it’s a minor thing compared to so many positives.
Well what can I say, this is an amazing bit of kit. My photo makes it look like I’m a minger but I’d been over my carpet with my old vacuum before hand and then went over with the new Shark, and was amazed as to what was left behind.
If you have allergies to dust etc, I think this would be amazing to have to reduce your issues, that and due to the suction being great it gives you a good workout as well and at the current price it’s a no brainer for me.
This hoover is amazing.
After my trusted Hetty Hoover died, i bought an amazon basics hoover to tide me over until payday. I then found this one, and jumped straight in after reading the reviews! Wow! It did not disappoint!
Hoovered the living room, photo shows how much dust it collected from my daily hoovered room! And the rollers are left as good as when it came out the box!
Easy to put together and im still learning new things it can do. Its a bit hard to push and im still getting used to the way it glides around but my recommendation would be to buy this hoover!
I don’t have a single bad word for this hoover, the price was amazing, the hoover picks up the smallest of bits, anti hair wrap works a treat, nice long lead so I don’t have to keep taking it out of one room and plugging it into another. Shark hoovers are by far the best!!
This vac is powerful, been using a vax battery model not very powerful and runs out of charge when
The shark is quite heavy and large but it does a good job
Really good suction, lots of extras, great for dog hair, the negative is it’s very heavy to use ,its big and clumsy. Like pushing a tank around, does come apart to use on stairs ect.
Proper Shark hoover quality, it came with really handy tools. Imd recommend using said tools to clean the stairs because the hoover itself is heavy and bulky. I caught myself enjoying hoovering. If it’s in your price range I’d highly recommend investing in one, especially if you have a car / pets / kids.
Moved into my first home and have been given a couple of hand me down hoovers that were just not doing the job. My mum has a shark and kindly offered to purchase this for me.
WOW! I hoovered with my old hoover then with this and was shocked by the amount that was picked up! All the different functions are great, lift away makes it easy for getting under things like beds and tables and doing the stairs.
I have very long hair and lose a lot on a daily basis. I can confirm that the anti hair wrap works. There can be a little build up on hair on the roller, leave it be and over time it will come off. This is clearly stated on sharks website and it does work.
Hoovering is a pleasure and I never thought I would say tha
This hoover is great for pet hair. I wanted one with the anti hair wrap as well as I have long hair that gets everywhere. Sadly hair was still wrapped around after I used it. Apart from that it is a great hoove
I ordered this vacuum a week or so ago. I was genuinely shocked at the volume of dirt this vacuum picked up. I thought my house was clean!
The only downside is that the machine is heavy and a little bulky. It’s fine for me but an older person or someone with a disability may struggle to manoeuvre it.
I have been using the Vax brand up until now. Comparing it to the Vax, this is far by the best I’ve used, its quite heavy but cleans really well. I no longer use the cordless vax blade since the suction was getting weak and I only had that for a year. Hope this lasts, really happy with it so far.
I have used a Dyson vacuum for some years but it was too heavy for my wife to carry round (so guess who did the hoovering) This is nice and light and I like the way it can detach for cleaning stairs etc. The suction is adjustable and it can be switched for use on carpet and hard floors. My only gripes are the size of the vacuum head is about 4 inches narrower than my Dyson hence it takes more sweeps to cover the floor area and the brush attachment for the stairs isn’t fantastic but its will do. However I am happy with my purchase. I don’t have a problem with long hairs on the carpet so can’t comment on that.
I bought this vac as my 11 Yr old Dyson was just loud and crap basically. The suction and the dust it picks up is phenomenonal!
The downsides are that the plastics used are very flimsy compared to Dyson. The stairs tool with the red velvet lining on fell to bits after the first use, other than that, it’s great.
Love my new shark, It does all I need it to. My grandson wanted to replace my horrid Indian style rug which was coated with cat hair despite hoovering every day. I binned old hoover & grandson tried Shark on rug. He yelled Nan I love your rug it’s a different colour!
Weight and maneuverability
Bit heavier than my old shark because of the click and clip system between hose and tubes I assume. That makes it a little bit more difficult to maneuver compared with old shark in upright mode (without the duo). But whenever I struggle I’d separate the two parts so no problem. it certainly cleans better on hard floor definitely. The soft red front roller still super clean after hoovering all over the house.
No more hair cutting
As with most upright the suction is great on carpet and no more hair tangling, it works !!! Whilst my old shark will get soooo tangled up that I need to cut the tangled hair to pull them out (long hair 20-30cm heavy shedding) , but not this one. Not even one single hair tangled after hoovering all the carpet area, compared with my old one it’d be at least 20-30 hair tangled up by then.
Minor issues
4 star only due to its weight and also the dust tank clip is a bit loose.it doesn’t affect the performance I think. Better get that 5 years warranty right away then.
The shark powered was on point, great to use on hard floor, carpets, above floor and on skirting. No loss of suction due to it being powered, when battery life lasts longer than 40/50 mins ill have powered over battery. Every room has a socket, so powered it is. Even with an inverter plugged into car the car kit is great.
Absolutely incredible hoover. We have 3 cats and a dog and our old hoover was just not doing the job. This arrived today and one use on the living room FILLED the tank with hair and dust we didn’t even know we had stuck in the carpet. Easy to use, nimble and is perfect for tangle free cleaning. I can’t wait to use it on our other carpets!
I used to have a small wireless vacuum that would do half of a room and then need the brushes cleaned of hair (long hair family and long hair cat), I did my entire flat with this and the rollers looked exactly like they did when they came out of the box (picture is after an hour of work). Great suction (and the ability to change it so it doesn’t stick to thicker carpets is fantastic) along with a really long cable has made this my favourite vacuum I’ve ever owned. Managed to get it on sale and would highly recommend this
An incredibly versatile and effective machine…whether on my car or around the house. Amazingly configurable via the tools, the main power unit as a carry around and as an upright. I could not believe its performance with dog hair, nothing was missed. I threw my crappy Dyson away.
I’m not often writing reviews, especially positive ones, but this one definitely deserves a word out there for those who are still thinking about it.
So our regular vacuum cleaner was some small 50 kind of thing that you would expect your teenage kid to clean his room with. So Shark didn’t really have a competitor to begin with – and we bought it for 189 I believe in 5 instalments which is just great.
It arrived today and we immediate put it to test. I have a cat, my husband has longer hair than me and we both lose a fair bit of it, so our carpet was in need of some proper cleaning.
And we did vacuum at least once a week with our other vacuum… but THIS….
OMFG you know you’re old when you’re excited about new household appliances and this thing got us jumping high when we seen the results.
I haven’t had a chance to use it on curtains or anything, we only read the manual and got it to work – pictures of the container afterwards.
And the best thing?
We didn’t have to go through one place twice – that’s how good it was and manual was really easy to follow even to a pair of fresh students.
Absolute game changer in cleaning, especially if you have a carpet – this will give it a second life.
Oh and one more thing- it’s not loud at all (compared to our small one at least). I was expecting something like plane engine kind of noise seeing how powerful this was supposed to be, but you can easily do it at midnight without upsetting your neighbours.
Again, great stuff. I hope it will last long as well, but this is literally first impression.
I’ve used a Henry vacuum for quite a few years, mainly because it had good suction. But always found it annoying how it would crash into doorways etc Plus cumbersome when doing the stairs. Saw the Shark on the Gadget Show, it came out better than the Dyson for suction! It’s lightweight & easily adapts to stairs & getting into skirtings by easily removing the nozzle. Yep love my Shark
I had been struggling for the last couple of years with my Dyson vacuum cleaner not picking up as it should have been but didn’t know what to replace it with. I was recommended this Shark from a friend and I can only say I was totally blown away with how well this device works!!! My carpet looks 5 shades lighter which showed that my Old cleaner was certainly underperforming. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Shark to someone. It beats the carpets as it goes and has amazing suction also great in laminate floors. Love my new Shark
This was a replacement vacuum for the Dyson animal that had broken. I couldn’t believe the amount of dirt the shark lifted from my carpets, especially considering how good the Dyson vacuums are supposed to be. I only have 2 carpets but I had to empty the vacuum after the first use, it picked so much dirt up.
Excelle
Suction is amazing, picks up far better than our old Vax, the downsides are it’s heavy, the brush head is quite small, you need to empty vac every time you use it and the clip that holds the pipe to the hoover body is worse than useless.
When you buy a Hoover you want something which is versatile in household usage this quite heavy but with the lift up system you don’t have to carry all together this make stair cleaning easier. Really good on all floor type.
Only con the cable you must take all out even if it’s just a small or quick tidy up. They do have cordless version tho and I believe that’s good as this cause the carpet/hardfloor head is a separate thing.
Excellent for hair and dirt removal – onle gave it 4 stars as it’s really heavy!!!!
I’ve owned several well known brands over the years and this one beats the lot … my house just feels so clean after using this . . It is a bit on the heavy side compared to others I’ve had , but it’s worth the extra “work out” I get . If you’re thinking about getting one , do ! I’m sure you won’t regret i
This hoover picks up so much dust and hair from within carpets it was incredible I thought my house was fairly clean until I went around with this for the first time. It’s way better than the old Dyson I replaced because it’s awkward handle broke when it got dragged over.
I am impressed with this cleaner.I have a dog and a cat so hairs are an issue at home -picks up well. It’s a little heavy on stairs but give and take.
Sadly though it is much quieter than previous cleaner my dog still thinks he has to defend so will attack it, bless him hoped he wouldn’t have to stay in crate for cleaning time but alas I have a neurotic German shepherd.
I would say if this keeps functioning well it is the best cleaner I have bought this far and I a?m a little obsessed with vacuum cleaners.
Replaced my old Shark and delighted with this one especially the car cleaning kit that came with it. The suction is great and it is better on hard floors than my old one, whilst being just as good on carpets. The five year guarantee is peace of mind too
This is a great buy! The stair option is like vacuuming with a mini shark but with all the power. I love the lift away option which allows me to clean under the bedall the way! It’s so easy to empty the dirt, one click and it’s gone. To disassemble for cleaning the brushes couldn’t be easier. I love the light that comes on, dirt really shows up in those dark corners! I loved the Dyson for ever, but this is even easier to use! And when it’s on offer you could not buy better!! Definitely a conve
I bought this as a replacement for a long-serving Miele. I actually bought a Miele replacement first of all, but the suction was so poor and it failed to pick up long hair, that I returned it (on the basis that it didn’t do what it was supposed to) and ordered the Shark instead. The Shark does exactly what it says with long hair / pet hair (we have both issues); the difference between the two makes was obvious from the outset.
It’s easy to empty (easier than a Dyson), and I like the way you can get right under furniture by removing the canister. I got the model that came with a free car detailing kit, which seems useful. You get the best of the upright / pull along models this way. It’s early days, but despite having been a Miele fan for a couple of decades, this is the one for me now.
Have used many different vacuum cleaners isdue to the fact that I’ve got three dogs and so far this has been the only one that can cope with all the hair
Believe how much hair but I get off all the carpets,I would highly recommend i
In general, I am happy with the vacuum cleaner. I chose the model to have strong cleaner and it cleans very well. I like motorised brush – fantastic!
The only disappointment is the weight. It is heavy. Not deadly heavy but uncomfortably heavy to operate with the brush on the carpet. Not acceptable to the person with spine injuries or back pain.
As a feature of design – you need to roll the brush. This makes difficult to clean in complex areas where table legs or corners. I will buy something light and portable for the kitchen.
Customer Service is excellent. I registered extended warranty without any problems in one day.
I wish it had indication when turned on without filter or water in a filter – this should be easy to make and will save motor.
Most of my flooring are carpeted and I was looking for a vacuum cleaner that cleans well but doesn’t damage the carpet. After doing weeks of research, got this and a month later and multiple vacuums, I am happy with this purchase. Suction can be controlled and the lift away function is so practical especially when cleaning my carpeted stairs. Haven’t try the car accessories yet.
PS: The whole machine feels quite heavy but not too bad after getting used to it (i’m 5ft 2, <50kg)
After a series of Dyson upgrades, and always finding something to moan at, I decided to listen to my mother and buy a shark.
Mother was right – just don’t tell her.
This is easy to set up and use. Great manoeuvrability and has advantage of getting under furniture without moving it – which our Dyson promised but couldn’t deliver on.
Powerful and switches to different surfaces easily so you still find it easy on carpet or granite etc. Stairs were a doddle (except for the fact I hate doing them) and took no time. Attachments made sure the skirting boards and corners were dust free in the process. Light to use- I found so much easier on wrists than my other cleaners.
The headlights are Mercedes Benz of the vacuum world – will illuminate the deepest darkest muck! Obviously helps when under furniture or just along the floor where lighting is poor.
Attachment great for car – the fact it all lifts away and becomes handheld is a bonus.
Anti hair wrap does work and as both me abs my daughter have long curly hair, you find them everywhere – wasn’t bought for the dog hair as he’s hypoallergenic – works great with moulting human heads!
Highly recommend.
This hoover is sooo good. It’s made me
Realise how much I hate the cordless
Dyson, it just shows that the dyson wasn’t doing the job properly as just my lounge and the shark was full needless to say I hoovered the whole house and feel content it’s done an amazing job
So I recently bought a cordless vacuum off Amazon but quickly returned it as it was not fit for purpose and it didn’t do what it said it could do.
After some anticipation I decided to pay the extra and buy a shark. Best decision ever.
Vacuuming has now become easy work not to mention how clean my carpets look.
I have 2 dogs and a cat and the vacuum picked it all up. The cylinder was full of dust and hair after I finished each room.
I would highly recommend, it’s definitely worth the money.
Only issue is the hose length attachment to the appliance not secure and comes away while in use. Otherwise delighted!
The photo is of what the machine collected from my living room floor on first use (I had vacuumed the night before with my old machine!!!).
It’s a powerful machine but it’s very heavy. Be wary of its heaviness (and I’m 36 and relatively fit and it’s hard to maneuver).
Looks and feels expensive.
Only had a few days so will update in due course.
Loses a star due to weight.
What an amazing product! Suction is amazing. Ok so I’ve only had it a day, but I used it twice already because I couldn’t believe how much hair and dust it was getting up. It is a little heavy to push around but that may be due to the fact that it is sucking the carpet so hard! Buy this, you won’t regret it!
I’m a clean person but after literally using this shark for the 1st time, this is what came out of my carpet
Great suction, easy to use, easy to assemble….
Highly recommended
I live in a flat so can’t comment on the stair attachment but think it’ll be great!
I’ve read so much on this shark. All reviews have got it spot-on.Its brilliant.i got a hoover 2months ago n I thought that was good but I didn’t like keep charging it so I treated myself.Worth every penny.i don’t wanna use it to much tho coz it’s all shiny n new.Thanku 10/10 from me
Best hoover for suction it is amazing ! The only downfall is it is also the heaviest hoover i have had but very impressed with it . It is so good for animal hair and the lights on it you can see under sofas units brilliant. Despite being heavy it is so easy to put together and use I would highly reccommend.
This is far and away the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had! Really strong suction, which can be adjusted to the level you want. Relatively quiet on carpets. Easy to use, separate parts, empty etc. Haven’t used the car attachments yet but they look good. Used the little brush for soft dusting, and even vacuumed the dog! Gets all the cat hairs off a velvet covered chair, and goes easily from carpet to hard floor at the flick of a switch on the handle. The stairs took a matter of minutes. Lovely long flex too. If you are looking for a new corded vacuum cleaner, then get this one! You won’t regret it!
I’m so happy with it. I’ve got 4 dogs and so hoover daily and I am horrified how much hair has come up on my first use of my new hoover, absolutely crazy. I was so impressed when I unpacked everything that every single piece of packaging is recyclable, not a bit of plastic wrap anywhere; this made me happy before I even switched it on.
I wasn’t sure about getting this vacuum as I’ve always bought Dyson and I can tell you fit’s better! We’ve got two dogs, a cat and three children so it’s being used in a house that gets dirty quick. It feels heavier than the dyson but it cleans much better and it’s quite and best of all it’s easy to empty, you press the button and all the dust and fluff falls straight out with no need to get something to help it out into the bin!
I was always cutting the tangled hair from brush head least a couple of times a month but this vacuum there is none at all which is hard to believe.
Coming from a family home with pets I highly recommend this vacuum.
My hetty hoover was a pain to clean the stairs. I loved her, we had some good times together, but she just wasn’t cutting it anymore.
No lady likes to hear she is being upgraded for a new model, but my poor back just couldn’t take it no more. I made sure she went to a new forever home (my dad’s, for car cleaning duties).
Now I’d been toying with the idea of a Shark for a while. I’d read many reviews and friends have recommended it.
I’m one of those people that has to read all about it in great detail first , add it to my basket numerous times, guilt trip myself back out of buying it and repeat for a few years.
But I did it, I justified the spend, I outweighed everything and I concluded that yes, I deserve the damned hoover.
It arrived, I was excited.
Easy to set up (I made my dad do it) and instructions were easy to follow (he said).
This was my moment, it was time.
My hand wavered over the power button, I was anxious, a bit nervous, excited (yes I realise I need to get out more)
My finger hit that bottom and this bad boy sprang in to life.
Not too loud (quieter than the Hettie, and i know this because my two kids didn’t instantly screech and scramble off the sofa out the room).
The lights lit up my carpet, they were guiding my way, enticing me to go forth.
I reached out my leg and gave it a lil nudge and god damn… I glided across that carpet as seemless and effortless as Torville and Dean.
I did a lap of the room and then stared in absolute horror/admiration …. just look at all the dirt it has collected already! Have I really been living my life like this?! I had only recently hoovered with the Hettie. She was clearly no match for this beast.
I yelled at my Dad to come quick, he sprang in to the room fearing some emergency but I simply wanted him to admire the collection of dirt (and the odd child’s toy and a specsavers glasses cloth). I showed it off like a new mum taking her baby in to the office.
I continued, shrieking occasionally “would you look at this’, as my shark navigated corners and slipped under the sofa.
Well now I had to release the wand (that is not a euphemism) … and I successfully sucked up Mr Skinny Legs (the spider that had been in my corner for months) and all the other cobwebs on the ceiling. Time to say goodbye to my telescopic duster, that too has been replaced.
I couldn’t stop, I did the stairs and marvelled how I could get to the top without having to precariously balance a heavy Hettie half way up and having palpitations that I would fall backwards.
To summarise, should you buy the Shark? Absolutely.
Do you need the Shark? You may think you don’t but let me tell you… I thought I needed a new carpet. Turns out I just needed a Shark.
This is your sign.
Buy the Shark.
I’m off to hoover again.
Lovely vacuum cleaner, very light and once assembled easy to use
One failing is the Pet hair tool, used this on the carpeted stairs as recommended in the booklet and after one journey of 13 steps the fabric strip had come away. Very poor sub-standard glues applied during manufacture.
Would like to receive a replacement pet hair tool
Absolute bargain for under 200, NV801UKTSB – pet vacuum, which includes the powered pet hair removal head (really handy for doing the stairs also) and car detailing kit – small hose and attachments for getting into tight spaces. Has just done a fantastic job cleaning up and is very versatile in the way everything goes together for different cleaning applications. Pretty light at 6.5kg not the stated 8.5kg. Dust catcher is 0.83L not the 1.5L stated also, this was sufficient to do the whole house without emptying. Small head which is easy to get into tight spaces. A lot better than my old Dyson DC04. Very pleased with it, looks really good as well in black and red.
This replaced our various Dyson cleaners and performs better. Pet hairs (and stuffing they’ve pulled out of toys) no longer clog the roller – sometimes takes a few minutes to clear but always worked. Power unit lifts away; useful for running base under low furniture, as standalone ‘cylinder’ vac when just using hose.
Long cable reaches length of staircase and whole room from one power point. Fairly quiet operation. Very, very pleased
OMG!! I am a clean person who likes a clean house but even I was mortified by what this hoover managed to pick up. Previous to buyng this hoover I was a huge fan of Henry, but this product knocks socks of poor old Henry. My wife went upstaires and comented that it looked like we had had new carpets fitted!. Well worth the money.
I used the hand held holder with the dog hair attachment and did one room very easily. I then put the dog hair attachment away and used the unit as an up right vacuum cleaner. I would say the results were better than with the attachment. Very good.
The only complaint is that I had to empty the chamber more than I expected but this was probably because I hadn’t removed the dog hair for a while.
Amazing little machine.
Wanted a shark vac for so long, and wow I thought my rugs were clean I have a cat and the hairs and dust particles it picked up. My bedroom carpet looked like it’s days were coming to an end. But my friend was amazed how good it brought it up. I used a couple of the attachments on my sofa. It’s amazing. And the lift away is great easy to do. Just love this machine and it’s quite.
This is a fantastic vacuum cleaner. Great at cleaning up the dog hairs from both the carpet and the car. Best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had.
Essentially I’m happy. Its great for picking up dog hairs and generally. Its powerful and I like the attachments its come with. The only things I’m not happy with are that the hose clip, which clips it into the back of the hoover, never stays clipped in and keeps popping out – that could be much better and is badly designed. Also because its lighter – which is good – but then pulls over easily. The long hose is very compact so when you use the wand with tools on the end it doesn’t stretch very far before it pulls the hoover over. Yes you can separate them and thats great but sometimes I just want to quickly use the wand with corner tool on end and because I then haven’t separated everything it drags it over on its side. I think the collection box is small, it does compact nicely and I guess this is what they are like these days but for a fairly small bungalow I have to empty it too many times really especially with the dog hairs. Overall if you are wanting it for its hair wrap technology then I’d say its brilliant and I’m hugely happy with that. Its nice and quiet as well and the lights at the front are very helpful. I got it with the extra pet and car tools which have already proved useful. If you have stairs then its ability to separate will also be great as it is for going under things. To sum up then: I’m fairly happy overall just think one or two things could be improved and made better but given my Dyson was very old I can certainly see the difference.
I’ve spent a Fortune on a couple of cordless Vacuums in last 3 years and been disappointed with performance and suction So decided to buy The Shark corded and I’ve not been disappointed at all. It’s great on carpet, hard floors, upholstery the car etc. The cord is long enough to Plug in once and covers the whole downstairs. One very pleased custome
Got this at the prime price and what a good buy it is. We had a dyson which wasn’t picking up much so decided to invest in a shark after all the good reviews. It’s given our 8 year old carpets Hoover lines everywhere looks and feels so clean after using it! The car set is great too with the little brushes my cars never looked so clean 5 stars all round from me!!
Very powerful machine,We had used our Dyson to hoover the house just before the Shark was delivered.I put the shark together and decided i had better try it out.I was amazed at how much it sucked up.The only complaint i could have is that the tank is very small and needs emptying a lot more than the dyson does.Overall though i am really pleased with this machine
Bought this as a lightning Prime Day deal and I think that’s great value ate below 190 with a car detail kit and let hair accessory included.
I wanted a simple vacuum cleaner; one which would vacuum carpet and porcelain tiled floors, plus sweep over ceilings and get in to nooks and crannies, I’ve bought Dyson, Hoover, Bissell, Bosch, Vax and others over the years, with differing results.
This is the best multi function cleaner I’ve bought. It looks good, striking colours. It’s relatively light and the cord length is generous. It sweeps up pet hair from carpet with ease, there are bright lights on the sweeping head which show up under cupboards, beds etc and make it easy to see what needs to be vacuumed. Suction power is adequate. Ideally suited for day to day regular use rather than once in a blue moon deep clean.
For me, there are two really big plus points. Main one is that it’s incredibly easy to attach pod, wand, cleaning brush etc. It’s genuinely one click and into place. I have arthritis and found Dyson and Hoover models really difficult to manage. This was out of the box, clicked and set up literally in a few minutes. A paper booklet of set up is clear and very easy to follow. Good diagrams and step by step instructions. My home has lots of awkwArd corners. The smaller cleaning head on this machine allows easy acces. Also, the head swivels making it very easy to turn corners and reach niche areas.
The dust pod is smallish, but it’s very, very easy to click, tilt forward, remove pod, hold base over waste, click and empty. By far the easiest I’ve used and it empties with little effort. I love this machine; well as much as I’ll live any vacuum cleaner…but it’s the best I’ve used for so far and with a 5 year guarantee, there’s little to lose. Really impressed.
