I was apprehensive about moving away from a Dyson after 25 years but after being disappointed in their cordless model I decided it was time for a change.
The pros of the Shark is that it has really good adjustable suction and it is great for hard and carpeted floor with a switch to adjust between the two. I thought the headlights would be a bit of a gimmick but they are actually quite useful for showing up bits under tables etc.
The cons are that it’s just a really clumsy design. The power button is a long way from the handle, the hose easily comes unclipped and flaps around, the whole machine feels too narrow for how bulky it is. You can’t just quickly use the hose without unclipping the whole lift-away dust unit because it easily over-balances and falls over. When you do use the lift-away part it’s hard to line back up to click back in again. The dust collection section has a very small capacity so needs emptying a lot.
Would I get another one? Probably not but it’s not bad for the price and it does the job for now.

This hover as really been thought out does the job you expect plus it’s a lot less noisy than my last one a Dyson.
This as been engineered properly and designed by someone that as though about it .
Doesn’t get hair and bits rapped round the rollers .
Doesn’t drop to pieces when you use the pipe and tools.
Gives a deep clean to your carpets and upholstery.
Lighter weight than my last one .
Better designed and more practical to use.
And better still you don’t have to wait for the hole house to wake up before you can start cleaning unlike
My old vacuum cleaner.

Great suction power, I didn’t realise how rubbish my previous vacuum was until I got this. The lift off is great for doing stairs or hard to reach places. Love the headlights on it and it has a decent length cord. It has so many different ways of using it that it’s easy to forget about them. It is a lot heavier than expected and the dust cylinder is tiny but it’s very easy to empty so worth the minor inconvenience of having to empty it a few times, I blame the dog! Would certainly recommend though

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I have two black-haired dogs and the hair on the carpets is insane. Neither of my previous vacuums picked up the hairs without going over the same spot over and over again. Hoovering took ages. The Shark does the job in one pass and the carpets have been transformed. The dust capsule needs emptying regularly, but the release and empty mechanism is so easy that that’s no problem. I am so happy with this vacuum cleaner, I just wish I’d bought it sooner. (I haven’t used it on the stairs yet so can’t comment on ‘stairs performance’.)

bought to replace my old hoover, ( which was doing my head in ), I didn’t believe all hype about this vacuum, its head isn’t as wide as my old one and it slightly heavier as well, but the smaller head make it more maneuverable and the little headlights are functional as well as cute , it breaks down into various parts for different tasks, mainly pet hair and partners long hair that used to wrap around the old hoovers brush. I bought it while on sale over Xmas holidays making it a more reasonable price. I’m really pleased with it, its high quality and functional, but I wouldn’t have paid the full price

Wow, I would like to shake the hand of the engineers that designed this vacuum cleaner as they did a fabulous job. It has great suction and is so easy to detach go mobile and do the stairs or hard to reach places. We have two dogs and two cats and it certainly does a great job in helping us keep their shedding in check and is so easy to clean and maintain. The size of the collection container is slightly on the small side but it is so easy to empty due to the great overall design, and unless your house is massive, it is a design and practicality compromise that makes total sense when you own one and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

I’ve had dysons for years and thought they were brilliant but I was convinced into buying this shark hoover,it’s incredible, the suction is really powerful,it gets every last pet hair up even ones I couldn’t see!it is fairly heavy to push but I think that’s because of the suction power – the lift away option makes the hoover feel a lot lighter.it also works brilliantly on hard floors. All in all I’m really impressed with everything about this hoover!

I know this is not the most affordable hoover in the world, I actually asked for it as a Christmas gift! And I’m so glad I did. I really struggle with cat hair having a long haired cat and this hoover is the only one I’ve ever used that actually picks it all up from the carpets! The suction power is amazing. The cord sometimes gets in the way but I wouldn’t change it because its so long you don’t have to keep unplugging the hoover to move around the house. Found it a bit hard to push at first until I realised there are adjustments for hard floor and carpet settings. I love this vacuum, really good, in fact the best I have ever owned!

First shark hoover and I’m not disappointed. Suction is amazing and nearly pulls the carpet up! Great for dog hair but slightly worrying how much it picks up in comparison to last hoover. Came with extra accessory’s for car which husband has used and worked well. Only thing I don’t like is the cord is a bit in the way and the bit that fastens it in keeps coming out.
Great buy and would recommend.

Picks up more than any hoover I’ve had before, even when you thought the carpet was clean, this picks up alot more.

I’ve been using a Dyson DC33 for the last 12 years, it’s still going strong, I sold it on Gumtree. Technology has moved on in that time and this vacuum is fantastic. Lovely design, everything slots together so well, the design is really good. Adjustable suction is a must for different surfaces. Liftaway is good with the powered brush head on, I haven’t found any fault as yet. It’s a pleasure to use.

This devise is amazing. The fact that device detaches for the stairs is great. Suction is great, cannot believe the dust that came out of my carpets.

I have always had Henry hoovers before i purchased this shark model, what a difference!!!!
It still cleaned up the carpets and hard floors after i had been over with a Henry first!!!!
Its a heavy vaccum cleaner i must say

it’s good thats for sure and has great power, the brush seems to not taglew hair like many others have so thats a good start.
it’s easy to use and accsesuries are good too.
the filter is a really easy to get at which is handy as these are things that need cleaning often with any brand and lift away is handy but not sothing i would need to much my self.
the only thing i would say for maybe someone who is smaller is that it is not light and has a heavy feel to it when in use (exspecaily on carpets) it may not be an issue for me but if you are thinking about getting one just heads up.

The only draw back is on thick pile carpets it can feel like hard work to push it about certainly if you have a good few to do. Normal carpet less pile great. However that does not take away from the fact it still does a good job.

Great hoover to have if you have pets. With superb suction power and a cord long enough to allow you to tackle the stairs all in one go. My only dislike, it makes you realise just how dirty the house really was!!!

Very powerful and shocked how much it picked up especially after I recently vacuumed. Looks and feels good but I was extremely tired after just vacuuming downstairs. My wife used it for a few minutes and give up as she prefers cylinder vacuums and found this to be too heavy on her wrist. I will keep it as it did a great job.

Cannot fault the quality of this product, however the hose clip on the ‘wand’ has insufficient holding power and becomes unfastened too readily which is slightly annoying. The unit is heavier, and less manoeuvrable than our previous Dyson, but at the purchase price is acceptable.

We have had every conceivable Dyson Vacuum over the years but when are latest Animal version gave up the ghost we decided to try this Shark. Wow what an incredibly well thought out machine. It performs better than anything we have had before and is so versatile. I don’t know why there is not more noise about this company.

It is quiet, so powerful and makes very short work of our house, which has two big hairy dogs and two big hairy boys.

I like the design and colour scheme. It’s not an ugly thing to leave on display in the hall. Perhaps it would be better still if the cable could be stowed away in a receptacle. It is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned and that includes Dysons. This one also has a 5 yr guarantee.

This is just fantastic. Excellent quality, as good as if not better than a Dyson.
The suction is so great you can feel it drag as you push the upright head around the floor. It lifted the downtrodden pile on several of our carpets and I could not believe the amount of dust and dirt it sucked up, dirt and dust we couldn’t even see was there in out carpets.
The lift of function is also fantastic and adds a versatile addition to this well made vacuum cleaner.

The hoover is extremely powerful with great suction. It has lights at the front the make it easier to see in darkened areas of the house. My carpets have never been as clean. It amazes me how much dust gathers each time I hoover..(this is at least 3 times a week, we have a golden retriever) . It is great for animal hair .
The only down side to this hoover is that it is quite heavy and awkward to manover at times. Overall a great purchase.

Hoovered right through our home with our dyson vacuum on a Monday (shark already ordered) as the dyson works but bits are broken off and it screams all the time, shark arrived Wednesday, hoovered right through again and OMG! The hairs and dirt that the dyson wouldn’t pick up unreal!

The first thing to note is the amazing suction. I’ve previously had Dysons but now I’m coverted. The different separation options are great. Love doing the stairs now which are so much easier with the lift away option. Only cons are hose clip doesn’t work, the 2 in 1 duster crevice tool is not as good as the Dyson one and the brush part doesn’t stay put and it’s slightly heavier than I thought (but it’s still very maneuverable). All round a really good purchase and lives up to the great reviews.
