    Does what it says
Very impressed up to now with my new Shark vacuum cleaner. The suction is excellent. My only slight reservation is that I find it a little difficult to manoeuvre because the suction is so strong, this isn’t a criticism but due to a painful wrist it is a little awkward for me personally.
It really does its job well though! Love i

    Heavy but amazing suctio
Had a cordless vac for past few years that died. This one was recommended by a friend who has a professional cleaning company – she said it was her favourite model. It does seem really heavy but not to push .. to carry up stairs, but might just be contrast. I thought my carpets were relatively clean my goodness they were FILTHY!! Clearly the cordless vac had not where near the power and brush of this! I also noticed in a high traffic area it has really revived my carpet and lifted the pile. It does come apart for stairs. I’m very very happy with this vacuum, I also had to keep removing my long hair from previous cordless that kept wrapping and jamming it – no such issues with this one.

Wow! The best upright I've ever owned
Absolutely thrilled with this vacuum and I should know as I am the proud owner of no less than 7 vacuum cleaners! Whilst I have a Shark cordless (pretty good but 2 battery packs are essential) it does not compare to the suction power of this. I also have 2 Miele cylinders (one bagless and one bagged) and the Shark wipes the floor with them both! This machine is just amazing. Everything at your finger tips and the whole cleaner is solid and study and clunk’s together easily. The powered lift away is fantastic for the stairs and the attachments are perfect for the vast majority of household requirements and the suction power is A1. My house is cleaned every day with a eufy robovac and also a cordless Shark. On the first clean with this vac, I had half a dustbin full of dust and cat hair. The suction pulls up the carpet pile and cleans the surface better than any other cleaner I’ve owned.
A couple of points to note, it’s is considerably heavier than a cylinder or cordless vac. And the suction power is so good, it can be difficult to push on carpeted surfaces (if so just adjust the floorhead setting and it will become easier)
The only downside is the cable length, at 8m it is still too short for open plan living and larger properties and I find it frustrating to have to frequently unplug and replug. If Shark could make a version with a longer cable I’m sure it would be popular. Apart from that, it is my go to Vacuum. And whilst the Eufy is still in daily use (they are fantastic auto vacs) The Miele’s are resigned to the garage and the Shark takes centre stage. It’s just brilliant!

Really glad I bought this hoover. Suction is amazing. One room almost filled the tank and I’d only hoovered the day prior. If I had to be picky, it’s a little on the heavy side, but totally worth it.

    Very Surprised!!
I’ve worked on Vacuums for quite a few years so I know what to look for, and what I like to see. I split this into 3 sections so you can glance at what’s important to you.

    LOOKS AND FEEL
It feels robust, and I think it looks good. It feels solid with weight behind it, but not overly heavy.
This will manoeuvre really well where you want it to go.
I have hard floors and a really deep pile carpet. It it’s been good on all.

    SUCTION AND CLEANING
I’m used to the older big heavy Vacuums that suck like hell and beat the crap out of the carpet, until EU got involved and limited the power on all Vacuums. So for me the Vacuum has never been the same But the Shark does very well in this department. Edge cleaning is good on hard floors and deep pile, the suction is good which I’m surprised at given the limited power.
Deep pile carpets are the test for me. This does a good job and better than my previous Vac which broke after 4 weeks.
The Shark lifts the pile and leaves it looking clean.
Stairs with the hand held attachment. Just blown away that finally a manufacturer put some thought into this, and not just a cash cow to churn out crap.
One click to lift of the Handle and one click to lift of the motor (and it’s not heavy!) and your ready for the stairs. I thing the air driven brush attachment is great and works really well. Good edge to edge.

    SUMMARY
Yes it’s more than I would usually spend but I can now see the benefits.
    Hard floor- Great
    Deep Pile – Great
    Stairs – Great

I can add too much more as it’s straight out the box, but I get the feeling that if you clean your filters regularly, you may have this vacuum for a long time
The only down side is that after 2 days I can’t get the Vac registered on the Shark website. Unfortunately the website is a nightmare

    Shark v Dyso
Having a Dyson, or rather several Dysons over many years, we have taken the leap and gone with the Shark. In truth, I am sick to death of finding the Dyson needs charging or runs out half way round the house.

I have never been sold on the cordless hoovers anyway so this was a great opportunity to get the additional power and flexibility of just having to plug it in.

The Shark goes together very simply and online registration was simple and provides a 5 year guarantee. The hoover itself is heavier than the Dyson, mainly due to build quality and it has a satisfying click as parts go together.

Importantly – is it any better?
Yes Yes Yes…. Having just cleaned the staircase and landing carpet with the Dyson, I was interested to see if the Shark would pick up anything missed. WOW – We were both shocked to see how much better it really is. Almost scary finding out what the Dyson left behind.

The Shark is extremely powerful, easy to maneuver and has ample lead to get the job done. Easily emptied although easily filled again due to the superb design and suction. From thick carpet to hard floors, it seems to just make light work of any task.

Tools store neatly on the back of the hoover, so gone are the days of the trying to find the Dyson attachments, a seemingly impossible task. The walk away option is ideal for stairs and everything just feels solid, well built and sturdy.

We are thrilled with Shark. Yes, it was a leap of faith after having a Dyson for so many years. We have no regrets, no batteries to charge, no missing tools, and certainly cleaner carpets and floors.

There is additional weight with the Shark but this reflects a choice to ditch the constant charging for a lead. Whilst Dysons remain great hoovers, they have dropped the lead making you reliant on charging before use. This does not suit us as we want simple smart tech without the faff.

I really do not understand the need for charging batteries as it uses the same electricity and plug sockets in my home. The Shark uses electricity as and when it is required – simply plug it in. No loss of power half way through the task and batteries are not a green option given recycling requirements.

Overall, both are great hoovers, it just comes down to personal preference, age and any restrictions you may have at home. We are now Shark users, and we LOVE i

Good but still inconvenient for using on stairs
Purchased in September 2021, it’s now November 2021. The hoover itself feels of good quality, has a great design for coming apart and getting used before going back together again. I like the light function on the hoover. Makes it easier to see dirt on the floor. Only issue with the light is I have no idea what to do or how to replace or sort it if it breaks or no longer works. The hoover is a bit inconvenient to use on stairs. When using the hose like any other hoover it wobbles and can fall over which is frustrating. The hoover moves well and isn’t too heavy. Overall so far I’m happy and I’m happy that shark products come with manufacturer warranty

What an amazing vaccum (best one i had so far!)
I love Shark Vaccums they are fab, quality, multi usage, improve more & more with time & their customer service is top

So if you are like me & cannot afford a Dyson but want a quality vaccum cleaner which does as good as a Dyson, look no further.

I have carpet every where in my house & vaccum every single day so i am a vaccum expert there, my shark vaccum do break sometimes due to over use from my part, Shark customer service has always been fab sending me parts for free if needed (under warranty). My last one broke due to over used so Shark took it back to investigate & improve & send me another one for free

I love the anti hair wrap technology (i have long hair and so my daughter & our cat, we have spend lots of time cutting hair tangled in vaccum head on previous model & i am so happy to say this actualy new wrap does not get any single hair trap in it (wow!)

Extremely happy with my purchase. The vacuum is more powerful than I expected, I was surprised to see how much dust and dog hair was trapped in my carpet. My carpet looks new ! The “lift away” makes cleaning the stairs very easy. Some reviews said the vacuum is heavy and hard to manoeuvre but I haven’t experienced that.

Best vacuum cleaner Ive ever used
Best suction of any vacuum we’ve ever had. Actually embarrassing to see how filthy the carpets were. We had a new carpet laid months ago and the amount of the small fibres you get in new carpets that it sucked up was unreal. (after months of doing with the old machine). Convenient to be able to dismount motor and carry it with you, makes stairs a doddle. Wife has long hair and always clogged up the old one; the no-hair clog feature on this really works! Some might find it a bit heavy but do we not spend a lot of time nowadays belittling the fact that most things we buy feel like “cheap plasticky crap” so theres no way I’ll mark this down for having a bit of weight about it. Coming from a using a cylinder machine you have to get used to the cable being a bit in the way again but you just have to adapt your technique to sort this. The handle/wand part is a wee bit more cumbersome than the simple long handle on our old cylinder machine but you get used to it and the on/off button just at your thumb is very convenient to use. The handle has 3 settings for different surfaces and this does work slightly as a power control but I think what is missing is the ability to reduce the power even further for more delicate jobs; it wants to eat rugs its so powerful. Again how could I mark it down for being too powerful?? Just adapt your technique and for lightweight rugs use the wand with the brush attachment and not the powerhead.

    Great all-round vac
I’ve heard a lot about Shark and most are favourable. After our last vacuum which was a ‘Vax’ upright it just sounded awful and the roller rattled about. So, as I’ve been winding up the missus about the amount of hair I pick up I went for the Shark. It’s fairly light, had LED lights for dark areas and the detachable hose and storage unit is great for doing the stairs without the need to carry a bulky vacuum up.

Overall been really impressed with this. Suction is great. I’ve seen reviews saying the dust collector is small. Whilst it’s not the largest I’ve seen, it encourages you to empty after the vac of the whole house.

It sucks (but in a good way)
I got this to replace an old cordless gtech that was on its last legs. I expected better suction with this being a wired model, but after assembling (which was mercifully straightforward) I switched it on and went over the rug that the gtech had been pushing dirt around for years, and before I knew it, the shark was already a quarter full of ground in dust and grime. It’s a powerful beast.
I then tried the pet attachment on the furniture, and after a few brushed over it looked visibly cleaner.
I then pushed out around the front room and kitchen, and it picked up all the small particles that were visible, and it managed larger bits that would just get pushed around by the gtech.
The big selling point for this model for me was the anti hair wrap roller. Living in a house with 3 long haired people and a cat (I don’t add to the problem by keeping my hair little more than stubble). So far so good on that point, no sign of any hair left on the roller.
Is easy to use, although the suction on it does take a little bit of effort to push,
    particularly on deep piles.
You can disconnect the main unit from the stick, letting you get low and in to harder to reach places. The end can also be detached to reach high up, it’s easy to get to the ceiling with it.
Noise wise, it’s a lot quieter than the gtech, and has an almost pleasant jet engine sound. The pet brush is a bit noisier, but still quieter than the gtech mk2 it replaces.
The 8 metre cable makes up for the reduced portability, it’ll easily reach from the living room, down the hall and in to the kitchen.
All in all, I’m impressed with my first impressions.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHow much dirt????
I have a Hetty Hoover, she’s fantastic at most things but….she’s bloomin cumbersome. So, I bought a Shark! Why didn’t I think to buy one before I don’t know.
It arrived in a box. Open it up to find the Shark box, which has no plastic packaging inside (love this idea). Really simple instructions to put together. Now, I had already Hoovered our rug. I have long hair and the cat, well she’s a dirt bag so there’s fluff everywhere! So I thought it was all clean, how wrong was I. Three settings take you from hard floor to thick carpet/rug. Turned it on and ran it over the rug, so much easier to use than the Hetty, it glided over. Some say it’s heavy, well, it’s not light but I didn’t have any trouble with it all and I literally have no upper body strength haha After finishing the rug, I looked at the “dirt holder”, oh my days, I was revolted and amazed at the same time. It was half full, which begs the question, what on earth has Hetty been doing all this time (lazy mare)? At that point I felt the need to do the rest of the house. Suction is fantastic, and my hair doesn’t get tangled up. Using it on the stairs is simple too. I absolutely love this. Just to be clear, I haven’t been paid to write this..I just really like i

    Excellent!
I bought this to replace a cheaper vacuum that I had previously bought from Hoover that stopped working after 6 months. I’ve only had this for a week but so far I am very impressed. It’s a very sturdy hoover and feels well made. It’s very easy to put together, you just need to click a few pieces into place. The suction power is excellent! It picks up everything that my previous vacuum missed and the carpets look cleaner than they ever did before. I like the fact that it detaches making hoovering the stairs very easy and the cord is long enough to do 3 flights of stairs no problem. It comes with 2 attachments which is very handy. The chamber is quite small so it does require emptying after each hoover but that really isn’t an issue and a small price to pay for such a powerful vacuum cleaner. My only critique, which isn’t really an issue for me but I think could be a problem for some, is that the vacuum itself is quite heavy so if you have weak wrists or aren’t particularly fit, then you might struggle. Other than that, this is a wonderful cleaner and I’m very impressed with my first Shark product. Whether it stands the test of time is another matter but I have confidence.

    Honestly amazing
It’s soo good for picking up hairs, dust and all sorts. The very good thing about it is that the hairs don’t get logded in the brush and roller bit. The suction is very powerful I use the mini roller attachment for my bed and same again no hairs getting lodged into the roller brush. Seriously good you won’t believe what it picks up until you look at the bin, you couldn’t see what’s on the carpet until you finished hoovering

    Love my Shark
I have never had a bagless vacuum as I suffer from asthma, but this canister is small and so easy to empty that dust has never flown out during emptying or caused an issue.
I was amazed at how much fluff came from my recently-vacuumed carpet (using my old cleaner) when using the Shark for the first time. With the suction control on full, it even pulled the pile back up on my carpet.
The vacuum cleaner is easy to push around (I have arthritis) due to the suction control element and the steerable head.
It cleans right up to the edge both sides of the head and only leaves the smallest of bands at the front. The front lights make it easy to see under furniture and the low, small head enables it to go under most tables. To get even lower, the collection canister can be removed.
For the stairs, the canister is removed and carried to the top of the stairs, leaving the handle and motor (base) downstairs.
Everything is easy to remove and click back on, everything is easily accessible, from the power button, the carpet/hard floor button, the tools.
    I absolutely love my Shark

    Awesome Hoove
This is a truly awesome hoover. It’s easy to fit together and take apart. It’s slightly heavy for me as I have spine and mobility problems but is still far easier than any hoover I’ve tried before. The suction is amazing. I love that you can adjust for different flooring with a flick of a button instead of struggling to change the brush all the time.

The hoover is really quiet which surprised me and is a great feature. I personally haven’t tried it on stairs as I would be unsafe but my family member who normally does it for me said it’s loads easier to use than previous hoovers.

I have to agree that the dust cup is small. But it detaches so quickly and easily that I don’t see it as a problem at all

This is my first shark hoover. I’ve been buying another very well known brand over the last 25 years and I have to say that I would never go back to their hoovers even though I swore by them for so many years

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA Mixed Bag
After the disappointment of our last Dyson, I thought I’d try a Shark as everyone seems to favour them these days. First off, I probably made a mistake in going for the higher power version. If you’ve got moderately thick pile rugs or carpets, you’ll have forearms like Popeye pushing this thing around. Really hard work, such that my partner simply can’t use it. Much better on hard floors, where it’s easier to push and quite maneuverable. I particularly like the lights that help you see into corners and under items. My biggest bugbear is when you are using the wand. As the motor and hose connection are quite highly placed on the unit, the high centre of gravity means that if you stretch the hose even a small distance away, the unit falls over. In practice you have to hold the unit with one hand and the wand with another. Not ideal, and again it’s pretty hard work.

Overall, I’m a bit disappointed. I expected a better experience. I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say avoid it, but don’t be tempted into the higher power version unless you’ve hard floors throughout.

    Eats dirt and pet hai
I had heard that Shark vacuum cleaners were the best for pet hair, so when I needed a new vacuum cleaner I looked at them. They are not cheap. But I thought if it is good, does the job and lasts, it will be worth it. I have a semi long haired cat, who moults for England. Also I liked the sound of the anti hair wrap element on the head. Since going through the menopause, my hair falls out and gets wound around my old vacuum cleaners head.
It arrived. Now to unpack it. I am not terribly technical; thankfully, the instructions came in a booklet, with illustrations. Being a big kid at heart, I had to play with my new toy. So I cleaned the whole house. Wow! The suction is superb. I had to alter the setting. The moving head felt a little strange at first, but that was just because I had never had this function on a vacuum before. It cleans brilliantly. It is pretty heavy. The cannister part comes off for doing stairs etc. Overall, I have an excellent machine here.

    The best vacuum EVER
I have had every kind of vacuum available over the years from the soft bag Hoover to the giant American Kirby that cost a fortune to the cordless Dysonand this Shark is THE best! My carpets looked flat and not as clean as I would’ve liked with my last cordless effort which had cost a lot, and I was on the brink of getting new carpets when I decided to investigate vacuums and because of the reviews on the Shark I decided to give it a go. That was in May and my carpets now look like new. The machine is a pleasure to usejust the right weight, soooo easy to empty, unbelievable power and suction that can be altered to suit hard floors, normal carpet and shaggy rugs. The anti hair wrap technology I’d brill as I’ve wasted too much time in the past cutting and prising hair from rollersno more you would actually think my husband, me and the dog were bald. lOL. Everything you need is easily accessible and stored perfectly and because the Shark is so compact it is easy to store. Okay the wee holder thing for the hose is worse than useless, but it does not impact on the effectiveness of the vacuum in any way. The best 229 I’ve ever spent.

Versatile and good value for money
Bought this as it seemed to have the best reviews for the price (283 including the car kit) plus you could use it as both an upright and a cylinder. It seems to work well as an upright being quite narrow and able to get into tight dark corners plus it has a light. As a cylinder it also works quite well which means you can easily clean the stairs or your car and inaccessible places in the kitchen. It is reasonably powerful but not as good as a Dyson, say. I found the instructions to fit the car kit pretty confusing and rather useless but managed to work it all out using common sense. Overall, fairly satisfied and will have to wait and see how long it lasts before I can really judge how good my purchase turns out.

    Ugly but Effective
The girls in our family have very long hair and I was forever untangling it from our Dyson, so I decided to trust the reviews and go for a Shark this time. I hoovered the house before it arrived to be able to do my own test by hoovering again the same day with the Shark. I know I was comparing new with 3 years old but the amount it managed to pick up was shocking! The collection chamber was about 50% full after the whole house was done. The suction is so good that my carpets looked like they might lift around the edges. I also found the hose very flexible. Being frank, the only downside of this product is that it is so ugly. I thought I had ordered the black/red version but an orange/white version arrived. Neither would have been attractive. It’s almost as if they have purposely made it as offensive to the eye as possible. It will be confined to the cupboard between cleans but I will live with it based on performance.

Heavy but very ‘manly’ in a fairly military wayonce on duty he stands no nonsense and he goes at it like a man on a mission. Any dust and dirt he doesn’t get is because they’ve run off into the road. My carpet looks smug and exhausted, the floorboards look re- stripped and in shock and the stairs look as if they are pursing their lips. The power , nothing missing there, eats cobwebs for breakfast off the ceiling and dog hair off the sofa for elevenses. My cordless Dyson has gone into hiding, requesting a safe house. Sharkie and I are very happy with each other and even my sons were impressed. Especially at the headlights. Easy to empty, never runs out of power as plugged in. Gentle suction for smaller rugs then on to typhoon levels for the rest. He’s also quite a handsome chap and so keen! I love going over and over the same carpet to see if he can get even more dust and debris up. I really do need to get out more.

I’ve never spent so much on a vacuum cleaner, but can honestly say it’s worth every penny – I cannot believe the amount of dirt and hair it sucked out of my carpets on its first use! At first glance, it looked tiny, and I wondered how it would cope with a large carpet. However, it steers! It’s incredibly manoeverable so you don’t have to keep moving furniture to accommodate it and it’s light weight and easyto manipulate. I currently have it on its lowest suction setting and it glides easily between carpet, hard floor, door mats and even dog beds without losing suction or eating anything it shouldn’t – my previous hoover sucked up the edges of mats and vetbeds, blocking up and making it hard to use effectively. It really does pick up hair and dog hairs without them wrapping round the brushes! And the pet hair attachment works amazingly on the stairs – in fact the whole lift away function means stairs are easy. My previous Hoover had a similar attachment but it never worked, grinding to a halt as soon as it encountered dog hair, so I’m really impressed with this one. It has quite a small capacity tank, but it is simple and easy to empty when I’ve finished using it each time, so this isn’t an issue. I have only one criticism and that is that the pet hair attachment, being an extra, has nowhere to attach to on the body of the vacuum cleaner when not in use. Given that the model I bought comes with this attachment as standard, I feel this is a bit of an oversight. A minor detail, though, and I wouldn’t mark it down because of it.

    Shark Upright Vacuum Cleane
Had a Dyson for years which then really gave up and no point repairing – too far gone. So opted after some research for something midway and came up with this Shark Upright. So far so good – It seems to pick up so much which the other didn’t (likely as it was rather old anyway). The Shark is lighter and with the detachable container – I can reach and get under furniture (especially beds) which was always difficult before. I’ve not used it for that long so I can’t say much on it’s durability – but for the time being I’m perfectly happy with it. Only thing I would say, is that the container which collects the dust is quite small – so it does need to be emptied often. However, it’s not hard to do and if you’re detaching it – you don’t want something that’s heavy to hold – so it makes sense. I’ve cleaned all my blinds with it and that has been a blessing also. One other thing is make sure the green light is on – if you take out the hose or do various – if they’re not back in place properly and the green light doesn’t show, then it’s not picking up. All small things, but worth having a good look through the instructions. So far so good and it does the job well. Oh forgot to say, i’ve got wooden parquet flooring and honestly haven’t seen it look so clean for a long time with just the hoover. That is a real ++!

    Really happy with purchase!
Probably the best vacuum I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had a dyson and a Miele before. I have three dogs and two humans with long hair living in the house the anti hair wrap thing really works! Very intuitive to use, it has so many functions and ways you can use it, but really easy to suss it all out. Plus it’s ever so easy to take apart for cleaning the filters and taking the roller heads out for when accidentally suck up your husband’s phone earphones (ooops). I vacuumed with my old vacuum before using this one for the first time, and was amazed at how much extra stuff came up from the carpets with the Shark (bit gross actually). Would definitely recommend and buy this again.

I will never have any other vacuum
I had my first Shark vacuum over four years ago. I have a double coated dog and my Shark had a LOT of use over the years. It is an exceptional vacuum and out performs the Dyson and Hoover Pet vacuums I previously had. My Shark eventually gave up the fight and there is no way I would have any vacuum other than a Shark. This new one arrived the next day (much needed due to dog hair!). Yet again it is excellent and I have to include that it was good to see that each part was no longer packaged in plastic bags but recyclable packaging.

    Superb vacuum - highly recommended
This was a perfect upgrade from a rival bagless vacuum cleaner provider, who shall remain unnamed.

It came packaged in paper bags rather than plastic, which was an excellent start. The warranty is simple enough to register.

It comes with all the nozzles you’d expect and is easy to assemble. I love the “lift away” feature, which makes vacuuming stairs so easy.

It’s also great that you can change the suction strength, which you will need to adjust depending on the surface you are vacuuming. The instructions make it very clear you may need to do this if you encounter resistance.

As for cleaning up hair, the photographs people have shared with clumps of hair are obviously uploaded by employees of a rival company. I have attached a photo of my brush head after three months of use, and there are only small strands of hair. Those people clearly vacuumed over a massive clump of hair, so ignore them.

Ditch the rivals, and buy one of these gems!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersPet hair deep in the carpets? Buy this, you won't regret it!
This hoover is the best purchase I may have ever made! It arrived yesterday and I set straight to testing it out. We have a cat and a dog, and their hair gets really deep into our carpets, in order to clean them usually I would spend around 2 hours brushing them with a rubber broom before hoovering and even then it would only look cleaner and not clean.
I didn’t use the rubber broom before trying this out, I just went straight for it with the shark, and honestly, it’s better than I could have possibly imagined, my carpets look brand new! I used the pet attachment on the stairs and that was very loud but did a great job, the lift away aspect (which I wasn’t particularly interested in when purchasing) is brilliant, I went all the way up the stairs and did the landing without unplugging.
The anti hair wrap (which I wasn’t really expecting to work) worked amazingly, you can see from my photos how much hair and fur was on my carpets and there was nothing on the hair wrap afterwards!
I saw some reviews saying it was far too heavy to use, I barely have any upper body strength but had no issues with pushing the hoover, or using the liftaway, the only time it really feels a bit heavy is if you’re picking up the whole hoover, and even then it is manageable.

Honestly I am so glad I bought this. If the performance deteriorates I’ll make sure to update my review.
Make sure to register for your five year warranty too, you have to register or you’ll only have 1 year’s warranty!

Anti hair wrap is very welcome.
Better than Dyson or Vax in my experience, small main head but fairly heavy for its size although manoeuvres easily and being smaller can get into tighter spots without moving things if you are doing a ‘quick’ clean, lights at front are very bright, once you lift away for portability it is fairly light and with hose extended has good reach, accessories standard fare but ok. Anti Hair wrap Tec is good although you still get a few on brush roller but it’s easy to remove any that do accumulate. Suction is better than the old Dyson I had (I am not a fan) by far and better than my last machine a Vax which was very good. I’ll be honest and say I bought this because of Anti hair wrap tech and although not 100% affective it is 100% better than others I’ve mentioned. I like it .. a lot ! .

Great but has a couple issues.
I do love this hoover but does have some downfalls.
The suction is great, probably the best i’ve ever had. BUT the anti hair wrap function does not work as you can see from other reviews.
The hair, string anything gets tangled in the rollers which need cut out. Another annoying issue is you can take the orange roller out but the others you can’t unless you want to dismantle the whole thing taking the screws off (which needs a special screwdriver) and i don’t understand as the other models you can do this no bother.
I would also be so wary not to run over a cable as this will literally slice it in half!
If you accidently run over lego/hair grips ect aswell it gets stuck and you have to take the bottom off to get it out.
Plus side its not too heavy, easy to push around, long cable so you can do multiple rooms without having to change plug sockets, has different tools for the stairs, sofas or areas you can reach!
The lift away button is good as you can get under the sofa. Has a carpet function and the other is for lino/wooden floors! The carpet function is very powerful its great for my rugs.
I couldn’t beleive the amount of dirt & dust the hoover gathered after the 1st use and i thought it was clean after using my last hoover! Needs cleaned regularly so take the filters out running under warm water which dry really quickly. They advise to clean it after each use as any bit of dust can effect the suction. Has a green light which means its fine and a red light if theres a blockage.
I love the headlights as i call them aswell! Not a noisy hoover either.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOn the whole a great vacuum cleaner, with some things I dont like. .
I’ve been using this for around 6 months and came from a Dyson Animal that was ancient & had lost it’s suck.

    First, things that I like:

    Lots of sucking power.
Great on carpet, laminate & tiles (It has two settings but I just use carpet setting as it’s more powerful).
Very customisable: can be used as a standard upright, you can also remove the main body & hold it in one hand while doing the sucking up with the other giving you the ability to get under really low gaps (sofas, beds etc). You can also use smaller attachments to do stairs, tops of doors, wardrobes etc. Also works well inside of your car.
I thought the headlights were a gimmick but they’re very useful for highlighting areas that you might otherwise miss.

    Things I don’t like:

The cool Orange finish on the main pipe was damaged after a few removals of the main body. Certainly not a deal breaker but it now looks older than six months.
The cable doesn’t retract into the body but wraps around 2 points on the bodywork. Again, not a deal breaker but I’ve been used to a Dyson where the cable disappears inside the body – you could look at this as a weight saving plus point though.
It’s light enough for me to use hand held, but if I were older I can see how this may get heavy when holding the main part in one hand & the wand in the other (you can only use the wand ‘one handed).
There’s nowhere to store the attachments on the unit, so you need somewhere to store them in your house, plus you have to stop what your doing to go & find the attachment when you want to swap it.

On the whole though I’m very happy with my purchase. It was priced well, and does the job well.

Golden Review Award: 681 From Our UsersExcellent hoove
We’ve been due to buy a new hoover for quite some time and now that our daughter is strating to crawl around the house we wanted to make sure the floor is as clean as possible. We always had a cylider vacuum before but it’s not so great in our flat as there is a long stair and split level too. After many days of research we realised that an upright hoover is probably better for our needs and determined to buy this model.

The main reason for this brand was the “lift away” feature although other brands offer this feature as well. We originally wanted to go for the cheaper model – NV601UK – but this one was on such a sale that we couldn’t say no. We don’t have pets but would like a dog in the future so we figured if this is as good a hoover as they claim we may as well invest in the top of the range model and this should be still around when we get the dog. It’s not like you can’t use the pet hair remover tool until, it’s perfectly good for human hair as well as dirt set deep in the carpet.

Assembly was very easy and intuitive. Everything locks in with a satisfying pronounced click so you’re never left wondering if the parts are connected properly. The design is not my favourite I find a Dyson much more elegant. This is not bad either but the shark logo is quite tacky, especially the plastic pretending to be chrome around the branding. Well it’s a hoover and it’s going to spend most if the days in the cupboard and will only be visible when someone is using it so we can live with it. One thing I particularly like is the fact that all the buttons can be used one handed. An example if you want to detach the wand, you press the detach wand button, it’s easy, don’t need two hands. It unlocks the wand that can be taken out one handed, no twisting and pulling.

I was very surprised when I turned it on, it’s so quiet. Our Dyson is of an older one and it’s proper loud compared to this one. It’s probably due to the new(ish) EU regulations that requires all manufacturers to keep the noise levels under 80 decibels. It’s not easy to imagine loudness by decibels (for most of us anyways) so I’m just going to say it again, it’s quiet! All the controls are on the handle -switch between hard floor and carpet and suction power slider – and I find these extremely easy to reach. Suction power slider should be adjusted to lower setting if you have a fluffy thick carpet and higher if you have a coarse carpet. If set correctly you should be able to move the hoover without much effort. One feature that I didn’t see on competing brands is the headlights. I thought these as gimmick at first but they are surprisingly handy actually. They can illuminate under furnitures easily.

I attached a photo because I wanted to show everyone how good this hoover is. Before trying this, I hoovered the living room with the old Dyson. Then immediately I hoover again with this. The result is on the photo. It’s shocking to see how much more dust was in the carpet that the old one couldn’t pick up. I’m not here to shame Dyson, this is a very old hoover compared to a brand new and I’m sure it would have been similar result with any new decent hoover. It just shows that old hoovers don’t necessarily do a good job but we get use the loss of performance over the years.

I found the lift away function as useful as they claim it. One press of a button and you can lift out the pod and carry on with the hoovering. This is extremely useful for hoovering under the bed or hoovering the stairs, ceiling. It basically eleminates the limited mobility problem of upright hoovers. The powered brush bars can be used in the lift away mode as this model has got the more advanced “powered lift away” function that allows this. The duo clean head is brilliant and picks up everything effortlessly. The anti hair wrap technology does its job seemingly, I didn’t find any tangled hair on the brush rollers. It does say in the manual that even you see hair tangled on the roller, ignore it and it will make its ways eventually to the dust collector. Speaking of dust collector it’s rather small, only 0.8 litre capacity so you will need to empty it often, it doesn’t bother me especially because it’s so easy to empty it. The cord is 8 metres long, there are other makes with longer and other makes with shorter lead, this sits right in the middle, I found it adequate. There is no cable retractor, but there are two hooks on the pod to reel the cable on it. The hoover is 6.5 kg total which I find lightweight and the pod itself is even lighter, it’s really no effort to move around the house with it.

The included tools are all good, just the standard stuff, nothing fancy, just what you need to clean the house, car etc.

To sum it up, I’m extremely happy with this purchase. This hoover is not cheap, but you can save over 100 when on sale. It cleans extremely well, it’s lightweight and mobile. It’s got handy accessories and superior duoclean head that really makes a difference when hoovering. I’m sorry if the review got too long but there are so many things to say about and I wanted to cover everything. Highly recommended!

Update after using it for 6 months: I still love the hoover no complaints from me. I don’t know why some reviewers complain about the anti hair tangle function not working, mine works perfectly fine I never had to clean the brush. The only thing I noticed so far is how easily the paint gets scratched off of the head as you push the hoover alongside the skirting board. For me it’s not a big deal, as I mentioned before it’s an item that spends most of the time in the cupboard anyway, but for 300 you’d expect something more durable. It doesn’t hinder the functionality though. Still recommended!

Beats any Dyson or Vax, hands dow
So, I’ve had a few Dysons. I’ll never have another after discovering the power of the Shark! A-mazing. Listen, this might not be the most powerful vacuum out there, and, yes, some hair might still get tangled, but this is so many miles ahead of any Dyson or Vax I’ve ever used. I’m very pleased with it – great suction, incredibly easy to use, easy to empty, easy to untangle. I love that it’s super easy to use the ‘wand’ and the attachments. All of the catches are really smooth, and everything clicks back into place effortlessly.

My last Dyson (DC40) couldn’t pick up anything larger than a grain of sugar, so the fact that this Shark picks up anything I ask it to without jamming is brilliant for me. I have a dog and a cat too – no problem, suck up that hair!

Oh, also, I must applaud the packaging – not a single bit of plastic. That’s how it’s done! Every piece of the vacuum was wrapped in strong brown paper, so the whole lot can be recycled. Excellent.

In short, an excellent vacuum cleaner that I love using – and that’s saying something because I’m really lazy and hate cleaning!

Very powerful hoover. I would buy it again.
I hate doing housework. Our old hoover died and husband bought me a very cheap, handheld replacement – I was tearing my hair out.
Sharkie (yes, he even earned his own name) was a good choice. I hesitated because he was pricey, but man, he was wwll worth the money…
The suction power is so big, I often have to reduce it.
This rotating blade head is amazing, it does really pick up hair, and doesn’t get clogged. Having said that, I had to take his head apart to remove a stuck lego, and it was quite easy btw.
He is not useful for rugs, because he tries to eat them. I can’t find a suitably low suction yet to be able to hoover a small/medium rug with Sharky.
A little downside is that this hoover is very heavy. Not clumsy though, easy to pick up/hold/maneuver, but heavy. So if you have painful joints or you are very weak, this hoover is not for you.
But for carpets, hard floors – I don’t think there is a better hoover then this.
If he breaks , ever, I will buy another one of tbe same, he is so good. This is the best hoover I ever had.

It’s light in weight, cleans exceptionally well, the various parts lift off without fuss for stairs, curtains etc and clip back together easily.
Better than Dyson by far( we’ve had a fair few of those) and much less expensive.
We got this just for upstairs after having a slightly different model for 3 years.

Dog hair? No problem- try sharp Air wrap technology
I could have kissed this vacuum. The last decade has been awful in terms of having a vacuum that can cope with copious amount of hair from my two Pugs and trust me they moult!!! I had THREE vacuums and they were all useless as couldn’t get hairs up. I tried shark cordless- red light came on constantly it was ok on the laminate floor but carpet oh no!!! Then i had a cordless Dyson purchased 10 years ago which was every bit AS GOOD AS the modern SHARK cordless. I then tried my VAX dual vacuum and carpet washer – again ok but useless on hair!!! So alleluiai found this vacuum. Its a lot heavier than cordless but worth its weight in gold. The bag was completely full in such a short time – full of dust and dog hair!!! Hopefully my bad chest will ease off once the dust is vacuumed away!!! I wont buy cordless anything again. Ive tried all sorts and you cant beat the POWER of electricity!!!! I actually enjoy vacuuming once again !!!!

This vacuum has a versatile design that allows you to transform it from a traditional upright standing vacuum into a more compact size that you can move around with easier, making hard to reach areas areas easier to clean. The particular model I received is the pet variant, which includes a couple of extra attachments that makes pulling up pet hairs from sofas and carpets easier. The vacuum uses a different type of roller style that has a guard built in the stops hairs from tangling too much in the brushes, making them easier to remove if they do get clogged up. On the front of the vacuum are some LED lights that come in very useful when you’re cleaning behind the sofa. Update: For some reason, Amazon deleted my original review, photo’s and video of the product in action.

    An efficient vacuum cleaner.
The Shark is easy to use, has some interesting features, and is an improvement on my Dyson. It has a nice long flex and hose, which is very helpful in a house with several flights of stairs. I was surprised when I first switched it on to see that it has lights, which make getting into dark snd difficult places easier. I have a very fluffy Maine Coon cat and, as she is an indoor cat, we have a certain amount of litter to sweep up as well as cat hair. The Shark deals with both very efficiently. Regarding the anti hair wrap facility, I haven’t found it to be quite as good as I’d been led to believe as I’ve had to unwind a certain amount (mainly cotton threads) from the roller by hand. However, this is not too much of a problem. The suction is very good and is adjustable to cope with hard floors as well as carpeted ones. Altogether I’m very pleased with its performance. The reservoir for the dust etc is very small and needs to be emptied often (or perhaps I just have a very mucky house!)

    Great suctio
I am 78 year old woman and assembled the ‘Shark’ myself, with help of explicit instructions and easy ‘click together components. It draws dust and dirt out of my mats and carpets like I have not experienced with any of my previous vacuums, but and more especially how it picks up the thick wads of hair shed by my Newfoundland dog. I have used and burnt out an array of vacuum cleaners over the years, bought specifically to handle that sort of dog hair, but they either got clogged up or I spent ages constantly removing hair from the brush head. This works brilliantly. To date I haven’t used any of the attachments but I have every confidence they will be up to the task.
On the minus side it is heavy to handle and the dust cup only takes a small amount, so needs emptying frequently.
Overall I am happy with it and would recommend.

I have waited ages to get one of these. I have arthritic hands and I bought a cheap cylinder hoover but was unable to use it as the suction was too strong. However this is just right. I was not disappointed. Took a couple of times so get used to the swivel head but in fact makes the hoover even better. Its great for getting under the bed. The only thing I find is when cleaning the stairs the pip seems a little heavy. However I can live with that. As my sofa is very close to the floor the other hoover would go slightly under however this wont. But that’s not a problem it gives me the excuse to pull the sofa out to clean under as I have a wooden floor and gets a lot of dust. Best hoover I have had in over 40 years. Does a great job of cleaning.

    Great vacuum and looks good
Great vacuum so far. Can’t comment on longevity as only had it a month. Works well, suction is excellent and definitely manages hair wrap better than anything else we’ve tried. It’s still worth giving it a check as it doesn’t completely stop hair wrapping, but that could be because my wife and 2 daughters all have long hair, so it’s a lot to ask. However, it deals with all but a few strays that occasionally latch on. The lift away makes it good for stairs and getting into awkward places. However, the stick (main pipe with the handle on top) is quite long and it isn’t adjustable, so it can be difficult if your using in a tight space, such as in the car. Shorter people may also find it a little difficult in its set upright position (probably less so once you’ve tilted it for cleaning. Overall it’s great buy, if a little more expensive than some alternatives. It is still good value IMO.

    Bye bye dyso
I’ve 3 cats and a lab (who molts so much you would think he should be bold) and I never knew there was so much hair in the carpet…. until shark arrived.

Great design and well constructed, everything clicks together with a solid click sound, not like the hollow dyson sound.

The lift away function is truly innovative and very intuitive when you use it ( you’ll know what I mean when you come to use it).

Anti hair wrap works but not so great at long hair ie. Hair from hair brushes etc but on pet hair has no issues. The rotating brushes really work the pile In the carpet bring it back to life.

I’ve had it for 3 months now and in some perverse way its gratifying to see how much is captured in the chamber when hovering.

Happy with purchase… even more so when it was on a lightning deal

    Very good performance
I have just used this vacuum cleaner for the first time, and it picked up a lot more dust than my old Vax machine, probably because of the ‘old’ rather than it being a Vax. One of the pictures shows a bag full of dust after cleaning the house.

    What I liked:

    – parts clip together easily and firmly.
    – excellent cleaning ability
    – the narrow foot makes it easy to clean little spaces between furniture, etc. where I would have had to use attachments preciously
    – The detachable unit meant I could clean right under the king sized bed. Previously this was only done very occasionally as I needed to shift the bed from one stone of the room to the other.
    – This also made stairs easy.
    – The dust container is easy to empty if you do it on or below the maximum line.
    – The light was bright and effective.
    – nice long cable, I can plug in the hallway socket and clean several rooms.

    What I didn’t like:
    – The dust container is rather small. As this was the first time I used the cleaner and if was collecting more dust this meant emptying it rather frequently.
    – If you keep going after the max line is reached the dust reaches a cone shaped filter which is tricky to clean
    – if you have a large house or little furniture the narrow foot would mean it takes longer, but I would think for most people the advantage of teaching small spaces would outweigh this.
    – it came with three attachments, there are two places that attachments can be fitted. This is a minor issue as you probably don’t need to take the stairs attachment with you round the house.

I have not had it long enough to tell how well it wears, but the five year warranty makes me thick it will be reliable.

    I couldn't not leave a review...
I rarely leave reviews but this vacuum cleaner has really left me stunned. I’ve been using a Henry Hoover for a while and was growing frustrated at how it was performing – I have a short-haired dog and the dog hairs get trapped in the carpets. I’ve tried deep-cleaning the carpets with product and hoovering over and over, to no avail. I purchased my mother this Shark model, and boy does it clean WELL. We were shocked at how much pet hair came out of the carpet, having only hoovered yesterday (we usually hoover daily). The carpet genuinely had so much more texture, and using this hoover has revitalised carpet that we were considering replacing. The amount of money this has saved us in new carpet is incredible. The hoover is a little heavy (feels like I’m doing a bit of a workout), but no heavier than any other hoover I have used. It’s also ideal for doing the sofa and stairs, as you can detach the dust part from the rest of the body. I’ll keep recommending this product for the rest of my life!

I needed a vacuum that deals with my girlfriends long thick hair that seems to get everywhere. My last vacuum burnt out because of the hair tangled up in it. I am really impressed with the SHARK as it deals easily with the hair and has a good suction. It also has a great stair/settee tool that is powered by the suction that cleans efficiently. In fact the whole design has been well thought out and it seems well built. It is very versatile in all home cleaning situations and very easy to empty and clean. The only drawback could be the rather small (10″) cleaning head if you have large floor areas but for me it is ideal.

We were so surprised at how much better @ hair/fur collection over the Dyson version.. We run a dog day care centre and have always had issues with cleaning up fur & had resorted to manual on your hands & knees to scrape the carpets, we had nothing to lose as we could return the Shark & you’ve guessed it, we still have it & it is still doing a damn good job & frees up our lost time in cleaning our work place, I urge you to at least try it with the anti hair wrap & see how you get on, if you don’t get on with it then send it back but please do what we did, use your old vacuum to clean as best it can then let the Shark do its stuff & you will be flabbergasted & how much more crap it picks up so we bought another one for our other work place, nuff said….

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersDyson V Shark!
We have been a Dyson household for many many years and have always sworn by them but the price of this Shark drew our attention. After reading reviews we decided to give it a go. On the whole we have been very pleased. The suction is very very good and on thicker carpets is actually hard to push. Its brought the pile back up on our living room carpet which it is great. Very easy to use and the lift away function is very useful. It is also a lot lighter than the Dyson which for me is great as I have arthritis and couldn’t manage the Dyson anymore. However two drawbacks – first the cord is very short and will only do one room and then need to move it to another socket. With the Dyson cord we could do the whole of the downstairs. Second is the dust box is rather small and again needs emptying much more frequently.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBest vacuum I have ever owned
I got this to replace my vax and I was NOT dissapointed. Even when the carpet looks clean it pulls up so much dirt and dust you didn’t even realise was there. The suction power is amazing and still strong when the extra add ons are added to the nozzle (my vax would lose suction power if you added an adaptor to the nozzle). It is very easy to run around for a quick clean and perfectly glides across my carpet and is very flexible around corners and getting under my table and chairs. The only downside to this is that it is quite heavy so you do have to put a bit of effort into moving it around and carrying it from place to place but once you get going it becomes extremely easy to control and loses its weight. Because you can take it apart and carry the case to do the stairs it is so much easier than lugging a full vacuum unit. The cord is extremely long so I was able to vacuum my downstairs and upstairs without having to move the plug into diffent sockets around the house which is amazing and makes my life so much easier. The single nozzle is also very long which is huge relief as it is very long so I am not constantly up and down bending trying to clean corners and edges of the rooms but it can also be used as a shorter nozzle of you want to really get in deep to the area you are cleaning. The device contains alot of buttons and levers for different things but once you get used to what button and lever does what it becomes very simple to use. The dirt chamber is quite small so if you were to do a big deep clean I would suggest emptying it a few times as your going along as it does fill up very quickly (a good thing as you know its working and sucking up all the dirt and dust from your flooring) the head lights on the vacuum are a brilliant idea as you can see exactly what your hoovering up. Overall I am in love with this vacuum it is 100% the best I have ever owned and will defiantly be sticking with shark when the times comes to replace this one. Its suction power is amazing, it had add ons that are actually useful, its stylish, its easy to use and I would defiantly recommend this vacuum to friends and family (maybe not grandparents as it is heavy and they may struggle to lift and control the weight) but personally I could not be happier with this machine

Shark I recall was once a TV shopping channel product how things change to a product leade
This Shark vacuum cleaner certainly have come a long way since it was first launched I seems now it is a major brand up with the likes of Dyson Vax & Hoover I has got a name for itself purely on recommendation. After 2 family members bought them and raved about their performance. I have no purchased the anti hair clogging version. It arrived from Amazon and was soon in operation on my carpets I was amazed how much dirt and fluff came up out of my carpet that I thought was clean and didn’t need vacuuming incredible performance. I am very happy with that.
However just a couple of niggles The Shark looks fairly small but its heavier than it looks and pushing it around its not quite as manageable as you think. The tool holders seem like an after though and fiddly to get the tools back in the correct fitting. Other than that it is a very good machine and the build quality feels good with solid clicks when releasing pipes and the lift away body I am happy with this product mainly on its incredible performance

A vacuum cleaner that really does clean edge to edge.
Bought for my new house after fancying a change from 30 years of using pull along cylinder vacuum cleaners. At first I was surprised at the weight as it’s heavier than I am used to, but now I don’t think about it at all. I love the way you can move around at angles with it and the light at the front helps to spot bits on the floor I might not otherwise notice. I did find it picked up a piece of thread which became tangled, but this was on first time use and perhaps I should have pressed the lift away button to prevent this.
My house is a new build and there is a lot of dust constantly settling on the floor, which is mostly noticeable on the hard floor areas. I have found there is still a film of dust after I’ve vacuumed over it; however, the detachable hose (which comes away very easily) picks up anything left behind. I bought this vacuum cleaner with 100 knocked off and feel what I paid was a fair price. I don’t think I would be as happy with it if I’d paid the full amount. Would recommend as a decent mid-priced cleaner, I wish I had stuck to a pull along cylinder vacuum cleaner for lightness and storage but that is just my personal preference and no reflection on the quality of this stand-up model.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVersatility that doesn't come at the cost of functionality
After much deliberation, I bought this vacuum cleaner as a replacement for my 11+ year old Sebo Automatic Pet X4 which I knew would take some beating, despite some age related issues. The Shark is quite cute straight out of the box and only took a minute or so to assemble. I was expecting a heavy appliance given the reviews I read, but with two kids and a large dog, I figured it was probably a necessary evil. I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised – it’s definitely a workhorse, but it feels slightly lighter and it’s definitely more manoeuvrable than my old vacuum. It’s also a little lower and reaches some previously inaccessible spots under furniture. (Retrieved a ‘lost’ iPad, so that was a bonus :-D).

There are three main bits that can be used in various ways (the handle/hose, the bin/container and the floor sweeping base part.) With one click, you can detach the handle from the bin/base in two places to provide either a long or short reaching hose; you can even remove the bin part in the middle and connect the short handle directly to the sweeper. I thought this was a bit gimmicky until I realised how useful having a 1ft mini-vac was for stairs, or doing a full carpet vac under furniture without the restrictions of the bulky bin. The upper part of the handle has switches for carpet / floor settings and airflow. My previous vacuum cleaner did this automatically, but I have to say it was great being able to vacuum upholstery without covers and cushions etc trying to disappear up the hose was a much-improved experience.

I was amazed by how much the vac picked up – and more significantly how much really fine dust it sucked out of the carpet. It works well on floor and carpet; it was better than my old vac in relation to hard floors in the sense that it didn’t have so much of a draught that had a tendency to simply blow dust and debris around. It doesn’t seem to have much, if any suction from the sides, which I do kind of miss. The tools work well – particularly the crevice/brush tool for skirting boards and corners. Might forgive my other half now for throwing my old ones away when we moved house 12 months into owning my old vac.

Features I’m slightly less impressed by include the bin. I’ve never used a bagless in anger before, but I was a bit shocked how small the dust collecting part of the box was (specially in this house?!) – I’ll certainly be emptying it more often – I imagine after every couple of uses. The bin detaches really easily, but I didn’t find it that easy to empty – the dust canister part is quite narrow, so it needed quite a few shakes to dislodge it into the bin. This is definitely an outside job – trying to empty it into a kitchen bin or even a bin bag inside the house was really awkward and messy.

I’ve only used it a few times, but I don’t find the buttons and release mechanisms instantly intuitive – the on off switch is on the midsection at about knee height; the two hose release buttons are in different places along the hose; maybe that’s just a consequence of having had the old vacuum cleaner for such a long time.

Overall I’m definitely impressed and pleased with it. It does an excellent job and is much more versatile than what I’ve been used to.

    Best we have EVER owned.
I have always bought Dyson’s or Hoover vacuums, a few weeks ago I used my son’s Shark after fitting a carpet for him. Was impressed, even although they have the base model, it was great. So, I did a little research after which I purchased the Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner [NZ801UKT] Powered Lift-Away with Anti Hair Wrap Technology, Pet Hair, Navy & Orange model. I have been doing loads of DIY over the past week or so and fitted a couple of carpets. I have even been building flat pack furniture with all it’s polystyrene packaging. We have been sanding, stripping paper, plastering, etc and nothing is too much for it. Easy to use, well built and the suction is fantastic. Either on hard floors or carpet, it works great. It breaks down for the stairs, which is super and the attachments all fit on the unit. We also have a white haired dog and again fantastic. It even comes with a 5 year guarantee when you register on line.

I’ve been so impressed I have sent the details to all my family members, encouraging them to take a look if they are thinking of buying another vacuum.

I would give it 6*s if I could.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Shark (NZ801UKT) is amazing, I love it!
I have had my Miele 6210 pet vacuum cleaner for about 15 years, and always loved it. It’s nice and quiet and light (compared to the previous two vacuums I had which were Dyson). However, since getting a dog earlier this year, it has started to smell of dog when I use it (blowing out of the filter), so I changed all the filters and the bag and washed the pipes and cleaned what I could, and then decided that I would keep the Miele for upstairs (where the dog doesn’t go) and get a Shark (as it is bagless and will hopefully be easier to keep clean and non-smelly) for downstairs.

I ordered the Shark on Tuesday afternoon and it arrived yesterday evening and I assembled it straight away and vacuumed a small area of carpet. I was amazed at what it got up from the carpet, and all I can say is WOW! The Shark has sucked up dust from my carpet that I didn’t know existed, and even more scary is I washed the carpets not even a week ago so am stunned at what this Shark has sucked up. I showed my husband this morning, and with an empty collecting tank I vacuumed a small area of carpet (over what I did last night) and he couldn’t believe what went in to the collecting tank. I always thought I had a lovely clean house (I am a bit OCD – even with a dog and cat – and husband haha – and very house proud) but clearly not!

I know I’ve only had the Shark not even a day, but long may this continue. If you are debating whether to buy one or not, I’d say go for it. Its definitely worth the money. I have debated over this for a couple of months and when it came in to the Black Friday deal, I thought “why not” and right now, I’m so glad I did – it’s definitely worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersPreaching to the converted... but here's my sermon.
TL;DR: if you have fluffy animals/humans, get this Shark.
    ——————————————————————————————————————-
    For the long review:

I was already sold on this, by a good friend, but the Black Friday deal (got it for 200), and the fact that our Dyson has finally had it (it has bi-annual services, as we have five fluffy animals and several fluffy humans in the house) made me wap out the credit card and treat us to a new vaccum. I haven’t noticed any cons, but I do have some niggles- absolutely not deal-breakers, but slight annoyances.
    Niggles:
1-I wish it had a retractable cord, but that’s something our last three Dysons (of 4) didn’t have, either, so just a minor thing that would make life easier.
2- The hose clip pops out by itself all the time. This doesn’t affect the machine, but is a bit annoying when the vacuum’s in upright mode and the hose is hanging away from the handle.
3-The attachments are clonky. This niggle is probably just from us being used to Dyson attachments that click on very satisfyingly and with no effort, but I was surprised to find that you have to just jam the attachments onto the nozzle. A bit last century!
4- As others have said, the dust capacity is quite limited, although I think this does the job of protecting the filter, so it’s forgiveable. For those of us with fluffy animals (3 samoyeds and 2 ragdolls) it means that the fluff tumbleweeds on hard floors and the mashed in fluff on stairs results in emptying the dust compartment every 5 minutes, because fluff doesn’t sit flat, so it reaches the top quicker than dust. It’s coat-blowing season, though, so this is the worst it’ll get.
5- when the stair tool is on, the relatively quiet machine suddenly sounds like a chainsaw! This doesn’t bother me, as it’s clearly because it’s a powerful vacuum and quite frankly, my stairs need the torque!

Apart from #1, all of these niggles have a trade-off, because the pros far outweigh them, in my opinion!
1- the attachments are clonky, BUT, the silicone “brush” (more like a floppy squeegee) on the stair attachment leaves the Dyson turbine tool in the dust (pun intended) as you can see in the clip- it literally leaves a rectangle of clean, which makes all the difference in a very dusty old house. Hardly any elbow grease required, the stairs (a favourite spot of the ragdolls) were done in half the time and looked cleaner than the Dyson ever managed. It’s brilliant that this tool is included, rather than having to pay another 40, as you do with Dyson.
2- The separate rollers for each floor make all the difference. We often have to sweep AND hoover our oak floors (again, blame the samoyeds- when the mud dries off them it leaves a film on the floor), and the floors usually look wrecked even after mopping. The silicone roller acts like a buffer, so it gets a LOT more dust up, and you can see where the floor has been waxed. This is evident by the fact that when we then mop the floor, the bucket water stays cleaner much longer, so fewer water changes, and therefore more water saved, which is a lot, as we have to mop our floors 4-8 times a week. On carpet, the Shark picks up all the cat fluff that’s been stomped in, that the Dyson would not get- we sometimes had to use a rubber brush to pull it up before vacuuming! Again, this means half the effort, half the time and twice the result!
3- The white headlights (something I didn’t expect) show up fine white dog hairs I wasn’t seeing with the room lights on (or daylight!) so this also meant I wasn’t missing any fluff that would turn into tumbleweeds. This has definitely meant the rooms have stayed fluff-free for longer than usual.
4- The lift-away feature is a game changer, and definitely makes it easier to get the stairs done quickly (and safely enough for my 10 and 11 year olds to do, once the novelty wears off for me), and to carry around whilst getting cobwebs off the ceiling with the long brush tool.
5- did I mention the stair tool? Ok, I did. Ok, what about all the nice little easy buttons? I’m not sure why the tools don’t click on, as per Niggle #3, but all the other functions/modes are controlled by very ergonomic buttons/switches that are labelled, which helps 38 year old brains, when you’re doing the vacuum cleaner equivalent of going from Windows to Apple.

Probably scraping the barrel on benefits now, but as you’ve probably guessed, James Dyson won’t be getting my money anymore, or that of anyone else who’s brave enough to risk asking me for vacuum recommendations.

Very impressed with power, cylinder a bit too small.
So after many recommendations and reading great reviews, I decided to treat myself to a new vaccum.

I’d used the vax air pet for ages and have always found that powerful and durable, but, after 5 years of daily use, the smell of old dog hair when using it was too much and just left the room smelly.

I went for this shark and have to say I’m thoroughly impressed with how powerful it is and how much hair it gets up – my carpets look like new! I thought the old vaccum did an excellent job, but this really has gone beyond. I go over the carpet with a carpet brush after vaccuming to get up any left over dog hair, as they really get lodged into the carpet, and the amount I’ve got up after each use of this is almost non existent.

Only a few slight issues: the dirt cylinder is very small – I’ll have vaccumed about 2m of carpet that contains labrador hairs and it needs emptying again, so I’d say owners of labs/heavily shedding dogs should be prepared to constantly empty it.
The anti hair wrap feature does absolutely nothing (see pictures)
The Other part is that I don’t quite understand why it has completely unnecessary ‘headlights’ on it – they’re too bright (for me), and make it hard to see what you’re cleaning (my house isn’t overly bright and I may as well be vaccuming in the dark), which I think is the opposite of what they’re supposed to do.

Sucks harder than a weekend in Bangkok...
Well, where to start. Firstly it looks like a great bit of kit, all sleek and modern looking, and it’s got headlights so it feels like you’re driving a little car.
Proper easy to put together without reading the instructions cos that’s the right way to go about things.
Then the performance – wowzers it can suck, thought it was going to pull the downstairs to upstairs through the carpet.
All comes apart to make cleaning the stairs an absolutely dream, I just wish this was about when I was a kid. Growing up in the 80s we had one of those upright Hoovers with a zip bag on the side with a paper bag on the inside – useless for stairs unless each step was the size of a pallet, in which case you had a weird house. Anyway, I suffered from Asthma pretty bad as a child but as it was the 80s this was no concern to my parents who made me sweep the stairs with a small brush. I’m surprised I’m still alive to be honest. If the Shark was about then it would have added another 10 years to my life I reckon.
Got very swift delivery from Amazon and was really excited to try it when it turned up, even though I was running late for a meeting I had to give it a go.
Fired it up in the front room that we don’t really use (yep, I’m doing pretty well for myself having rooms in the house that I don’t use) but do vacuum each week with the trusty old Dyson. Well blow me down, the little cleaning box was half full of dust and fluff and general detritus after 5 mins.
Also it’s surprisingly quiet, you could definitely maintain a mid range conversation with your half deaf gran when it’s switched on.
So I’ve had stern words with the Dyson and sent him to the loft to think about his actions.
    Welcome to the house Shark.
Do yourself a favour and get one. It will not disappoint.

Does what it says and brilliant for pet hair.
I’ve had Dyson, Vax, Henry and various other vacuums but this beats the lot of them put together, I’d just hoovered when the bell rings and its my new Shark being delivered, like a child with a new toy I had to have a go and WOW!!! This hoover is amazing, I did the lounge and the compartment was full of dog fur (Golden Retriever) I was amazed so did the whole house again, the device was easy to put together and looks lovely, the suction is very powerful and although it’s not the lightest of machines it’s not too heavy to manage, it’s got a nice long cord and the lift away and all the tools are easy to use. I’ve also got a mixture of carpets and floor tiles and manages both with ease very quietly.

Easy to use the anti hair wrap does worksuction is great! Overall it’s a great hover. Very pleased
This hover is great the cord could of been a little longer but having said that we do have big rooms as we live in France. The power suction is great you can turn this down if you wanted this is just a slide switch. The suction can be changed from hard floors to carpet with an accessible switch. I can’t really fault this Hoover. Yes I have knocked it over a couple of times when I have Unclipped the Bin part of the hover so I can clean under the beds. It is easy enough to remove the bin part from the hover as that is removed by a push button so you can carry around to Hoover under things and up in high corners. It’s basically a question of getting used to using a new hover. The dirt bin is a little small but I’m guessing the more you hover your home and empty the bin the less often you will have to empty it when you have got all the dust and dirt up from whatever hover you were using before that wasn’t getting it all. The only real problem I have is it is quite hard to carry the hover box and the wand at the same time to hover in high spaces. Our house does have high ceilings the wand is a little heavy and I feel it needs two hands to hold it but you are carrying the bin part of the hover as well so this can be quite tricky. The wand part could of been made not quite so heavy and a little more in length with the lead being a little longer. But for an average size British home I think I would be great. It has great suction is easy to use and the anti hair wrap is amazing it does work we have always had big problems with continuously trying to cut hair out of the brushes with past hovers even taking the hovers apart to cut masses of hair out. ( I don’t really know where all this long hair comes from I am sure the hair fairy deposits it on the carpet while we are sleeping) This we haven’t had to do at all with this hover so for this it is amazing. So all in all a great hover it certainly hovers deep down is simple to use and looks good too. Yes I would recommend this hover.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGood vac with a few niggles
I like this vacuum and I don’t regret the purchase but some of the ‘niggles’ that I dropped a point for are quite significant. If I was to do it again I wouldn’t bother with the powered lift-away function which is the main cause of my dissatisfaction — see below.

    First the positives:
The unit is really light and has a lot of suction and in this regard is much better than my ageing Dyson it replaced.
The emptying function is really good.
The multiple disconnection points are a great idea to customise the vacuum to the current task.
The brushes don’t seem to clog up with the anti hair wrap thingy

    Now the niggles:
The powered lift away function is a great idea. But it does not work like the pictures in the description. Attaching the motorised brush to a short little handle to do the stairs is very cumbersome. The unit becomes very heavy and difficult to manoeuvre. So no way you could do it with one hand and hold the body in the other.
Because the main body of the unit is very light and the concertinaed flexible hose is quite stiff it constantly gets dragged around and falls over if you detach the handle. You need to carry it like the pictures which defeats the point of detaching the hose for single handed use for up-high.
The attachments do not fit the little holders properly and constantly fall off. Unless you use extreme force to squish them down but this is difficult and needs enough force to risk damaging something, possibly even yourself.

I still like it overall though – I would suggest just don’t bother with the powered lift-away bit.

    Fantastic - New purchase
I cannot rate this hoover highly enough. I had an older dyson ball model which needed replacing after having burnt out after a couple of years. The difference in suction compared to the Dyson is absolutely night and day. We have two large dogs, one long haired and picking up the fur with the anti wrap technology has been a walk in the park. We were disgusted by areas we previously thought were cleaned by the dyson as they were ‘dog-free’ filled up the dust container almost immediately. The additional pet hair attachment is great for stairs and cars etc

I cannot speak to the longevity of this unit yet, but its certainly made a great impression so far

Having gone from a ball to an upright, I have to admit it definitely is noticeably heavier to weild but being able to remove the motor from the base negates this when on stairs etc

    Good, but not perfec
I have owned a lot of vacuum cleaners over the years, including most of the big brands, such as Dyson, Hoover, Little Henry, Vax, etc. My main vacuum was no longer working, and it would probably have cost more than it was worth to sort out due to it’s age, so I opted for one of these as they seem to be very popular at the moment. They also get very good reviews.

Overall I am pleased with it, although as the title says it is not perfect. First the good points:
    1) it picks up the dirt well.
    2) It is lightweight and can be used on stairs
    3) the attachments work well, and it can be used to clear high areas such as ceilings
    4) it goes around corners nicely, and fits into places which a larger model would be unable to do.
    5) it is bag-less, which makes emptying it fairly straightforward

    The not so good points:
    1) it claims to have a mechanism to remove hair, but on the very first use I had to untangle the rollers by hand as it got clogged up with some long hairs
    2) The dust compartment is quite small, and needs to be emptied after almost every use (not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of
    3) it comes with three cleaning attachments, but there are only two places for storage on the cleaner. This means the third one will probably get lost, unless you can trust yourself to have a designated storage space for it.
    4) The vacuum tube feeds along the back of the unit, and has a fastening point to attach it to the body. This mechanism simply does not work, so the tube does not say in place and flaps around in a really annoying way whilst you are vacuuming. For me this is the biggest problem, and I nearly sent the unit back as a result. Having used it a few more times, the problem is still there but I’ve decided to put up with it as I like the unit otherwise. I think this is a design flaw, so not point in asking for a replacement as I believe the problem would still be there.

So overall I like it, but it’s not perfect.

    Very happy with my purchase
I bought this to replace a Vax that I had owned for a number of years. The Vax was a free replacement for a previous Vax that was under warranty but the new model was different and it was a load of rubbish. Anyway I couldn’t cope with it any longer and so I pulled the trigger on this beast. I told myself that if it wasn’t any good I could always send it back.

However literally after the first use I knew it was a keeper and a great machine. here are the pro’s and (a couple) cons:

    Pros:
    * Suction is really strong, it lifts carpets that are pretty worn and makes them looked refreshed again.
    * The design is really good and well thought out.
    * Construction feels solid and high quality.
    * Has a soft bumper at the front to save your skirting boards.
    * The anti hair wrap technology works as advertised. After doing the full house there was no hair around the roller and my wife has long hair plus we have 2 cats, so well impressed there.
    * The lift away design along with upholstery attachment makes the stairs much easier and is also great on furniture.
    * Can hoover the whole house in a fraction of the time it took with the old one.
    * The amount of hair and dust it will pick up from a carpet you thought was clean will surprise you.

    Cons:
    * Heavier than I was expecting. Feels like it has heft to it, however using the lift away system on stairs etc means a lot of the weight is removed.
    * The waste bin really is as tiny as they say. At first glance I was like “oh that’s not bad” and then I realised that it was a very slim section of what looks like a larger waste bin. The rest is dead space filled with some sort of filter cone.

Overall though don’t let these cons put you off. It really is a very good machine and makes cleaning enjoyable as sad as that sounds 🙂

Absolutely great product, my other hooves get clogged with hair from myself & my daughter who has very long hair. Quite a heavy hoover but it gets loads of stuff out of your carpet, I tried it on my daughters bedroom floor first, was amazed at how much hair came out, separates tbe hair from tbe dust & dirt.
Great for pet hair it’s amazing how much it gets up & carpets feel great after being hovered, attachments work really well, & lead long, I could take middle part that collects hair & dirt off hoover & hoover all tbe stairs while not having to carry whole hoover.
You get the odd hair on wheel but just pulls off. Hoover great for hoovering under chair without having to move them.
Not the best looking hoover its name suits the hoover!!
    Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersFantastic Cleaning Powe
As a fan of Dysons for many years I decided to give a different brand a try as I was needing to do a deep clean on a house I was leaving. Having used the Dyson (12 year old DC07) on all the bedrooms, I decided to go over them again with the Shark. The additional dirt the Shark removed was amazing. I am truly impressed by the cleaning power this machine has.

On the negative side, it is a bit unwieldy and people with weak arms or wrists need to look elsewhere. The detachable wand is a great idea, but it too is a bit heavy for extended use, though very effective. I do however favour the Dyson design over the Shark for reaching up to the ceiling etc for cobweb removal. The lift off feature is good, however the dirt cannister (or Pod as they call it) tends to fall over, so has to be carried. A better idea would be to feature some sling hooks so the pod could be put on a strap and carried over the shoulder rather than set down, only to fall down, or carried around with your spare hand. One other small negative is that the dirt pod is not as big as the Dyson, so you have to empty more frequently.

Overall however, a superb cleaning machine, highly recommended.

Comparisons I have made in this review with the Dyson DC07 I own, are perhaps unfair. The DC07 is 12 years old and has given me sterling service. If comparisons are to be made, then they should be made against the most up to date Dyson, not my one that is coming to the end of its life.

It’s massively better than my old Dyson DC40, it’s put together much better, has loads more features, you can take it apart into more manageable chunks, has great powerful suction, is a really lightweight and quiet vaccum.

    The Bad:
The dust/waste container that you need to empty is really really tiny. Meaning if you have to vacuum a whole house, that has carpets and pets (which this is designed for) prepare yourself for emptying the container 4 or 5 times for a house. Very annoying.
Because the vacuum is so lightweight and has huge suction, it will spend most of its time falling over, especially in the pull away/take away mode where you spit in in two and ‘carry it around with you’. If you don’t carry it around with you, it will spend all of it’s time lying on it’s side being dragged around the house. It’s really annoying that virtually anything you do with the house detached means that the thing just falls over all the time.
If you use the pet turbo bush on your stairs that a carpeted, be prepared for a workout 😀

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersThoroughly recommended, fantastic cleaner.
I’ve been after a new vacuum to replace an old workhorse of a Dyson bought many years ago. I would have kept it, but a phone call to dyson said that they don’t stock the parts anymore and I’d have to source them myself. I weighed up the pros and cons and decided to just buy a new cleaner. I was in no doubt that it was going to be replaced with another Dyson, I wouldn’t entertain any other make much to my partners annoyance. Anyhow, this particular model popped up on a site for 350 and was recommended. I did some research over various review sites and this scored top marks on everything. I was still adamant to buy a new Dyson but found this on offer and thought I’d nothing to lose, if I didn’t like it I’d send it back. I was keen to test it before the better half arrived home so cleaned the house from top to bottom. I was astounded at the amount of dust and hair etc that was picked up. My partner used the Dyson at least once a day, so to find this much dirt was a shock. Two days later we did the same and the dirt it picked up was outstanding. We don’t have a big house and I would consider us a clean family, this seriously questioned that. Under no circumstances was this to be sent back. It comes apart to clean the stairs really easily and emptying the bin is a doddle. The attachments seem a little tight and can be difficult to get off, but are really good. I can’t do anything other than recommend this cleaner. I thought I would never move from Dyson, but clearly there is some absolutely fantastic competition in town.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGood but heavy
I bought this because of the anti hair feature – my previous cleaner just could not cope with long hairs and I was always having to cut the roller free. This vacuum is very good on carpets and soft furnishings but not so good on hard surfaces. It is very heavy too. My previous hoover was a GTECH which was very good, lightweight and manoeuvrable apart from the difficulties it had with long hair. Disappointingly, it just didn’t last and despite regular cleaning of filters and rollers, it eventually “died” because the internal workings (which you cannot access to clean) got clogged up. I took it to be repaired but was advised that it would not be economical. Hence the new Shark. Hopefully this will be more robust (has a 5 year guarantee) than its predecessor. No complaints so far – apart from the weight.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI never thought a hoover could be life changing!
I purchased this item as my previous hoover was just not up to standard, and this product was available on sale.
I have heard lots of good reviews about Sharks, so decided to give them a try and now I would not be without one!
I have a cat and a dog, and my house has tiles, wooden, carpeted and lino flooring with multiple pieces of vet bed in the lounge.
I have always struggled with hoovering stairs due to chronic health conditions, and living in a 3 storey house, it was impossible to hoover in one go. However, for the first time I was able to. This Shark is super lightweight, and has a ‘lift away’ feature that is perfect for stairs, it also has a specific attachment that is extremely powerful and picks up lots of debris you don’t even see on the stairs!
It glides seemlessly between the different surfaces and picks up all different sizes of debris. I was previously having to empty the hoover at least 5 times per full house hoovering, but now I can do it in less than 2! Perfect! One of the best features is the anti hair! My partner has long hair that gets everywhere, and I was forever pulling it out of the old hoover, but now it’s like he’s not losing any hair at all! Magical!

The downside to the hoover is that is corded, but if I plug in the hallway, I can reach to the back door, and most of the way to the upstairs bedroom. It does also mean there’s no chance of running out of charge. It has a very bright light that helps you see those little bits you may have missed too.

I used to love hoovering, but my last hoover ruined the experience for me, to the point I dreaded it. Nowadays, I’m super happy to get Sharky out as it’s so powerful, lightweight and easy to use so it puts very little stress on my body.

I have recommended this product to people on multiple groups and in lots of conversations as I’m so pleased with how it has improved my life.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFantastic vacuum
Absolutely love this machine. Never thought I would enjoy vacuuming so much. The anti hair wrap is a fantastic feature, having long hair myself and two dogs I was forever having to untangle hair wrapped around the brush of my previous Dyson, not any more! Compared to my previous vacuums its not as noisy and the dogs are not bothered by it at all (got a very scatty dog that is scared of everything, now he follows me about whilst vacuuming). The collection cylinder is small and does need emptying quite often. Its amazing how much dirt and dust accumulates in a few days. The lights on the front highlight any dirt and also makes the machine look futuristic (my partner thinks it resembles an alien). It can feel quite heavy but is actually lighter than my previous Dyson so this isn’t a problem for me. Doing the stairs is so easy with the lift away feature and with the powered pet brush the stair carpet hasn’t looked so good since the carpet was laid. I cannot praise the vacuum enough and wish I purchased this sooner.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersDyson v Shark
Have been using a Dyson for many years however just fed up with them breaking down all the time. So thought it was time to try a different model. Have to admit very happy with the Shark. The suction power is way more than the Dyson. The only downside of this is the capacity could be more as have to empty it more often. Also not as movable as the Dyson ball. But would I go back to a Dyson? No Shark has my vote.

Amazing vacuum cleaner. I have 2 cats & the hair this cleaner picks up is amazing. I love the lift away feature & the pet attachment which is great for sofas & the stairs. This vacuum cleaner is an upright & cylinder in one. Love the headlights when cleaning under sofa or beds! I bought on a Black Friday deal. Having had the vacuum for a few weeks now, I would honestly have paid 300 for it because it really is that good. Worth every penny – I feel my house is much cleaner now!!

    Love it!
We always had a Dyson in the past but they all had the same problem. Long hair would get wrapped around the brush preventing it from collecting more hair and dirt. Taking the brush apart and cutting the hair with scissors helped but it’s neither a quick, easy or pleasant task. With time the hair must have got to the parts of the brush you can’t access and it stopped spinning. That was the reason we decided to give this vaccum a go. First of all, its got a good succion but at the same time it’s pretty quiet. The lift away feature is really handy when vaccuming areas which are not as easy to access such as the stairs or the car but what I love about it the most is that we vaccumed the whole house and there’s not a single hair in the brush! It is corded but I suppose it’s a good compromise for not having to deal with horrendous hair wrapped around the brush.

    Best vacuum I've used
I am absolutely enamored with this vacuum cleaner. I didn’t know that a household appliance could make a person so happy lol. My previous vacuum cleaner was a Henry and I absolutely hated it. It was annoying to move around, the hose was too short which meant I was always bent over, the cord tangled- it was generally just the most annoying appliance I have ever used. I saw this vacuum cleaner on a deal and thought I would give it a go, the reviews were good and it looked slick and like it would tick all the boxes for me.

It works so well and it is so so nice to use after using a Henry for several years. It pulled so much dust out of my carpets it was disgusting. Since purchasing this vacuum I have noticed the overall level of dust in my home has reduced significantly. When we used to clean the house within a few hours you could see dust settling on glass surfaces etc that is no longer the case and I’ve only vacuumed my full home about five times since purchase.

I thought the anti-hair wrap technology was a gimmick but actually it works really well. I have nearly waist length hair that gets everywhere and I was forever having to take scissors to my Henry to cut the hair out of it. When I check the head for this vacuum cleaner there is nothing wrapped around either of the brushes, which is fantastic.

It is slightly heavier but it is easy to manoeuvre, it doesn’t feel heavy unless you actually lift it up. The lift away and all the different ways you can use the vacuum cleaner make cleaning your home a slick and easy job. I love that I can vacuum the floors and then pull out the handlr to do the baseboards and easily lift off the canister to clean other places all with the click of a button.

I really can’t say enough good things about this vacuum cleaner and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Saying that I wouldn’t pay 300 for it, it might be worthwhile but that just seems like a lot of money for a vacuum to me. I purchased this for around 179 and it feels like an excellent value for money at that price.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThrilled with the results!
I had promised myself this for ages because we had been using a cheap vacuum that kept breaking. I have a long white haired dog that casts and the shark copes with this no problem. I am delighted with the results! The lift away is great for doing the stairs and the different features are so easy to use and the headlights show that you are getting the dust and grime. It was worth every penny and the amount of dust that came out of my carpet during first use was unbelievable, definelty worth getting you won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersContinued Excellence from Shark.
Great Shark vacuum. This is the second that we have purchased. Bought this as an upgrade, some really good new features. The combinations to get under tables/chairs/furniture is great. Suction is of the chart, which actually makes the vacuum seem heavy when pushing. Adjust the suction power and you’ll see its not weighty at all.

There is a new switch on the handle which allows you to switch between carpet and hard floor seamlessly. Trademark Led lights remain at the front. There is now some form of rubber bumber, not noticeable to the eye really but now there are no loud bangs of you tap a wall etc while doing the carpets.

Then the colours. Really like the upgrades to the styling. A small thing that in the grand scheme of things doesn’t matter but it does make the vacuum look much more modern.

Golden Review Award: 184 From Our UsersAnti-hair wrap really works
I have been very impressed with this hoover. It has good suction, easy to manoeuvre, simple to use the tools and lift away mechanism and also very easy to empty as the dust bucket opens top and bottom. I was sceptical about the anti-hair wrap, but with two daughters with very long hair I have not had to clean the brushes.

Golden Review Award: 287 From Our UsersThe best VAC ever!
This is the best cleaner I have ever bought – and there have been a few! Our dog and two cats can cause domestic havoc and nothing seemed to clear up before we found Sharkie!!!! Wonderful. Our rugs came up like new, the amount of hair and dust was visible and so much – we are ashamed to say that we are quite excited to run the cleaner around. Works just as well on hard floors and finds dirt I didnt know was there.
It is a little heavy so not really suitable for anyone with disabilities but if you want a clean home – this is it!

I cannot fault this, it is fantastic. We have two cats and our old hoover was struggling to cope. This machine is brilliant easy to put together and use. The option to lift away is very useful for stairs. My 12 year old son will happily hoover the whole house on a regular basis using this vacuum so I would recommend for that reason alone .
The only slight niggle I have is there is no storage for attachments or if there is we have not discovered it.

Golden Review Award: 188 From Our UsersSolid and we'll built, feels quality.
My wife has wanted one of these for ages!
Its a really solid and we’ll built quality hoover.
You can feel it when you use it that it’s a good piece of kit.
The suction on this particular model is decent, but other models do seem a bit more powerful.
The anti hair wind works perfectly, so the roller doesn’t get clogged up with hair.
Taking the hivver apart to do stairs, sofas etc is a great feature, although the attachment for the stairs is not as good as the Dyson one we currently use.
It keeps a lot cleaner than other Hoover’s we’ve had, as it’s dirt chamber is easy to empty.
We got it on special offer, so just over 200. Well worth the money for that, and definitely better than anything Dyson or Vax can offer.

Golden Review Award: 380 From Our UsersAt last no tangles
This is the third vacuum cleaner I have bought in the last year. My problem was always my long hair and my sewing and knitting threads. Even when I bought a vac with no rotating brush the insides got all wrapped with long hair. So far I love this one with no trouble with tangled brushes. The lift off section was easy to use on the stairs. The small head was a bit noisy echoing on the stairs but cleaned really well. I think I have found the one that is right for me and I’m very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 149 From Our UsersA first class vacuum - at last!
I have long hair and it comes out and ends up on / in the carpet. All previous vacuums (Dyson, Vax, Phillips, to name but three) stopped because hair was twisted round the brush, and it was twisted so tightly it couldn’t be got loose. I ended up using the nozzle tool instead to clean the carpet an inch at a time, and that’s not easy when you have arthritis.

The vacuum I am reviewing arrived on Saturday, and my carpets are immaculate now, in less than 30 minutes.

I can’t praise this vacuum more highly – I just wish I had found it sooner.

The only real problem I have is the upper cord holder. I know it’s not fixed, so the cord can just be slipped off it instead of having to unwind it, but the upper cord holder is very loose and turns without me wanting it to, and then I nearly run the vacuum over the loops of cord that have fallen off. But that’s a minor issue when compared to the great job it does, and I’ll find a fix for it, I’m sure! 🙂

I didn’t give any stars for ‘Stairs’ because I am in a flat and don’t have any – but I’m sure it would excel with those, too.
