Perfect for my needs.
Purchased this microwave to replace my old identical one. I find it easy to use and fits in space where my old one was. Think it was about 15 years old and was used a lot so did purchase again.

I love this oven it was to replace same oven which gave up after about 16 years only thing im not sure of are the black trays which replace the silver ones apart from that its the bes
Great Microwave / Convection+Combination / Grill
This was a replacement for the same model I have had since Feb 2014 (over nine years of almost daily use). It’s versatile and offers different cooking modes, and the controls/display are easy to understand and use. This is the only oven I have and is fitted into the kitchen units – see photo.
It was also on a 23% discount and interest-free credit over five months. It was a great bargain as well.
Ordered yesterday and delivered at about 10:00 a.m. today. The driver kindly carried the large, heavy package into my kitchen. I unpacked it and tested it. All functions are working; now I need to remove the old microwave from the cabinet and put the new one in.

Cannot praise this product enough. It’s so versatile and has been purchased as a replacement for my previous microwave. If you decide this is the one for you I am certain you will be very happy
This is the second one of this Sharp microwave. The first was excellent and lasted for several years with regular use.
This second model is almost exactly the same. First class product.
This is my 4th Sharp R959SLMAA, it’s a great combi microwave with huge 40L capacity.
My last one was purchased in 2020 and died just a few days ago in October 2023, not a great life compared to the previous ones that lasted well over 5+ years each.
Over the years they haven’t really changed at all, I use the oven function daily and it does a great job at cooking food evenly.
Overall, I’d recommend, but maybe take out some sort of insurance after the first year as recently they haven’t seemed to last me long at all.
It’s expensive, but far better than the competition.
We cannot recommend this microwave oven enough! My children who are adults now, grew up with it. Our old one lasted over 16 years, and only then we had to buy a new one. Thank God the same model is still in production. Cannot recommend enough.
I LOVE this combi microwave!
I’m now on my 3rd one – the previous 2 lasted in EXCESS of 10 years a piece and got absolutely hammered when used in all modes on a daily basis at home! Given that it has a massive 40 litre capacity, it’s definitely reduced the need to turn on the electricity-guzzling ovens on my range – it uses about the amount of power!!! Really useful on festive occasions or when cooking for loads of people as obviously it give me a very handy 3rd oven in the kitchen….
It’s great to see that Sharp (unlike other manufacturers) have stuck to the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”………. Apart from now supplying full-width enamel-coated “baking” trays rather than the wire shelves my older units had, and increasing the microwave wattage from 800 to 900, nothing has changed on this absolute workhorse – it still includes the all-important circular wire racks for the turntable to aid grilling as well, and they haven’t screwed around with the very easy-to-use control panel either!
I’ve got no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this to anyone, whether you be single or a large family, it’s worth every single penny!!!!
Although this oven is quite chunky and very heavy – it fits on the work surface ok. I had the last one for at least 10 years and it was used daily so I was very happy to discover they still made it and bought another one. I’m surprised other reviews say it didn’t last long – it’s the longest lasting appliance I’ve ever had!

The circular plate can be unbalanced if things aren’t put on it balanced.

We have two of these microwaves, and have had four altogether over the years – they ultimately die of much use and old age! That is probably the best recommenndation. It is reliable, more spacious than most domestic microwaves, and will do anything from ten seconds to many hours, full or limited power, and although most of my use is as a microwave, it’s other functions are good, too . This is a wonderful machine, I had a sharp like this several years ago. Working as good as last one , extremely large but as it has everything and every way of cooking I’m more than happy. This is the third of this model we’ve had over 12 years. It’s an oven, a grill, as well as a microwave and is absolutely brilliant. When the last one failed, we ordered this the next day. Great value. Worth every penny.

This was purchased as a replacement for the same product that had stopped working. It’s perfect for me because it’s a built in model and fits the space exactly. I love the 40 litre capacity, which means I can cook a roast dinner on convection without having to use my main oven, thus saving electricity. The dual cook function is also useful for perfectly cooked fruit crumbles, rice pudding etc. in less than half the normal cooking time. It really is energy efficient and I would recommend it to anyone who has enough space for a large microwave.

This replaced our previous one which stopped working after about 10 years. This is such a useful micro as it has 3 ways of use an oven , grill, and micro or a combination of 2 eg oven and micro. It’s a large appliance with 2 shelves, Wouldn’t be without it.

This was to replace another of the same model that lasted 6 years. A fair time for this type of device which has to suffer extreme temperature cycles. Exactly the same as the old one. The only problem is the same as the old one in that it is only designed with a 99 minute timer so needs a lot of resetting if you are trying to cook a slow stew at 160.

Bought this model as previous one lasted 20 years.Slightly upgraded with the oventrays but more or less the same.Hope this lasts as long being used every day

Delivered as promised. Plug and play as no set up. Hand book has all info if you need it. Does everything you need. For a couple who do simple cooking this and a kettle is all you need.

This is the 2nd one of these that we have purchased. The first being 15+ yrs ago.
Mainly used as a microwave but the oven option is useful.
Originally purchased as we were short on space so the oven was used a lot.
There are a few minor updates in comparison to our original but only to bring the item up to date. Cleans easily.

The Sharp Combination Oven is a larger than normal microwave cooker. It can handle a roast chicken with ease. The quality of the build looks to be very good with the door not dropping on its hinges as our previous model did.
Once we have had chance to use it more i will come back with a more detailed review and opinion.

This microwave oven is my second one, exactly the same. I use all the functions of this oven especially convection. I bake cakes, cook casseroles, grill chops, defrost meat etc. If you have the space on your kitchen for it, I highly recommend this microwave oven.

I have just purchased my second oven. The first one did sterling service, I do not have a full sized oven during the summer ( Rayburn in winter) so this was my main means of cooking roasts, baking, etc. The oven is a good size, quick and easy to use, pre programmed buttons are a brilliant help when you are busy. The microwave is also very efficient and there is plenty of room on the turntable. Being stainless steel inside it is easy to keep clean as long as you wipe it out daily. The only fault I can find is the oven temperature registers in greater stages than I would like, a bit trial and error to start with but you will soon get the hang of using it.

Convenience
Had the same model as previously, only exchanged as modernising the kitchen. Find this looses heat more quickly when opening the door to check on food, and doesn’t seem to heat up again to requested temperature?

I can’t live without it and neither can my husband. When the old one started making a funny rumble we agreed that it had given us superb service and it was time to retire it. The only reason I scored the new on 4 stars rather than 5 was because Sharp has removed the clock which we found very useful though it makes no difference to the operation of the machine. I thoroughly recommend this product.

Super product with only 1 minor gripe in that the door tends to fall over time (this is my 4th unit)

Had three of these over a twenty year period. Having used other combination ovens I believe this to be the best combination microwave on the market.
A great convection microwave.
This is my third one of the convection microwaves by Sharp and they have all been more a less the same just slight changes. I have found them to be reliable and long lasting and only if this range was not available would I buy a different one.

Big enough for large plastic bowls to cook rice
This was the only microwave / oven the met our height requirement. It replaced the same model that finally “died” after 12 years hard service. No complaints at all with performance or reliability

Versatility – indispensable in my kitchen. This is the third one I’ve owned in about 20 years. I cried when a recent leak in my kitchen roof ruined my previous one. I was relieved to find Sharp still make this model. No other Combi oven comes close in my opinion. The clarity and range of controls, the interior space, it’s all great. There is only 1 thing that could make it better – make it a flatbed – that’s all. Don’t change the controls or the size, just take away the turntable (it was that mechanism that went on my 1st one and water damage seized up my 2nd).
Easy to clean – a quick wipe down after each use will serve you well and keep the great view through the door pristine.

White turntable horrendous to clea
Excellent product, except for one thing – the round white ceramic turntable marks very easily and is horrendous to clean. A clear ‘glass’ one would be so much easier.
