Perfect for Smaller Kitchens – Powerful and Easy to Use
I needed a powerful yet compact microwave for my kitchen, and the SHARP YC-GG02U-B fits the bill perfectly. It’s surprisingly roomy for its size and the 700W power cooks my meals quickly.
Only real negative is the cavity LED (the bulb that lights up when you open or use it) stopped working. It was purchased towards the end of 2021 and the bulb lasted around 2 years – maybe that’s standard, but seems less than previous microwaves. They are cheap to replace though.
The digital controls are straightforward and have all the settings I need for basic cooking and defrosting. The grill is an added bonus for when I want something toasted.
It has a modern look that fits well in my kitchen. Cleaning is simple too. For the price, this microwave is a great buy — I’d definitely recommend it!
Great combo
The microwave grill works fantastic. The only off putting thing is that it doesn’t spin. But the design is nice and it looks and feel nice. The grill is perfect for melting cheese or just grilling other stuff. It’s not too loud and the outside surface doesn’t heat up while using it.
This is ideal for one or a couple.
Love this and is very convenient for us as a couple but not big enough oven for a family. Everything about it is perfect but slightly disappointing that the grill doesn’t brown off cheese. Minor detail for us as we have a main grill.
Excellent Compact Microwave
I needed to find a compact, easy to use microwave for my mom. This microwave is perfect and much improved to my old microwave. Dishes heat up quickly. I’ve been cooking jacket potatoes and they come up a treat. It does steam up when cooking but leaving the door open is the perfect solution. Overall, excellent purchase.
Basic but adequate.
Not a bad machine for the price does everything it promised it could do build quality is fine though I don’t think it will last for 25 years like my last one. Only real gripe is that the keypad is grey letters and symbols on a black background which in anything less than bright light can be difficult to impossible to read so people with sight problems may want to avoid this one.
A small/medium size machine. It has good functionality-grill, defrost and other presets. It cooks well.
However, it came with no instructions and thus you have to work blind. The controls don’t illuminate, so you need good light. The control buttons can be a bit intermittent to operate.
Despite the few drawbacks, I think it is a good machine.
Excellent Microwave At A Good Price.
I am very pleased with this Sharp Microware bought at a competitive price. Its solidly built and easy to use.
Its a big upgrade for me it will do a lot more than my old basic one. I am looking forward to a new learning curve all in I am very pleased with this purchase.
Great value for money
I had the same model of microwave oven in the past, but it needed to be renewed. I was happy to buy this upgraded model as I have found it works well and is good value for money.
Don't look for any usage instructions..... There aren't any
It’s very compact and quiet, but if you’re not a techno bod, don’t think you’ll get to grips with it immediately as it has no instructions for use. Well, mine didn’t!
For some reason the buttons don’t respond very well, and there’s clearly a knack to pushing them.
Also, although the grill seems to work well enough (without heating the top unduly), the supplied rack is quite low, so things like cheese on toast seem to take an annoyingly long time to cook.
Easy to use
Love this microwave had one before and changed it for a fancy one which I hated so bought this again easy to use easy to clean looks good, highly recommend.
I have just bought my new Sharps microwave because I had my last one for 25 years anditjust got tired. I bought another Sharps model and hope it serves meas well .I don’t think I’ll be around for that long as I am 87yrs of age . Thank you.
i recommend this one.
very easy and simple to use. grill needs extra time if you place your food on the bottom plate but that’s cool, i prefer cooking slower for longer. i should imagine if you stick it on the raised grid thing it would probably burn the food but i havn’t tried that yet. really liking this cooker. i will report back on its longevity and reliability but for now it’s an easy 5/5 for me.
Ithink it is a good purchase – it looks good and so far performs well. The only think I would be wary of is if you need it to sit back flush against a back wall. It sits on a counter top, but because of he design it does not back square onto the back wall. Not a problem – unless you have a narrow counter top and it is important for it to be pushed right back flush with the back wall.
“Does what says on the can “
The grill/ micro wave combo settings are t clear set 1 2 and 3,now is 3 more grill and less microwave if the other way round .. used often I guess you just remember , I don’t use so often .. otherwise nice simple “turn the knob/ buttonless microwave:)
The brushed steel finish is very premium, the pictures don’t do it justice. Same for the digital display. Also 900w means you save about a minute of cooking time on most things. And the ceramic inside will hopefully prevent the dreaded rust I’ve had with previous microwaves.
I got this for 106. A bit pricier than average but for looks and quality, I’m glad I took the plunge. I only wish it had a wheel for more convenient time selection. I’ve not used the grill yet.
Eco mode just turns the screen off.
There is an auto child lock on it so the buttons do nothing until you’ve opened the door and closed it again.
I wish there was a mute function. There is no need for microwaves to beep when finished. It’s obvious they’ve finished because the microwaving noise itself stops.
This one does 5 beeps but it’s not particularly loud so it’s not so bad.
There is a kitchen timer on it (because why not) which I’ve actually found pretty handy for setting alarms for other things like boiling eggs on the hob.
Gril combi microwave oven good value.
It would be beneficial to have a recipe/cooking time longer in the user manual.
But you have to use trial and error.
But well worth the money.
Works and is simple
Easy to use, nothing fancy. Feels good quality and well buil
A bit smaller than expected!
A bit short I though compared to previous microwaves I’ve had.
GREAT!
Very capient and easy to use and clean.
It’s a pity it was available just on white.
Check the size of your space as the item is quite on the large size.
It’s a microwave!
Selected to replace an antiquated item, working ok but confused by the power settings, I was used to selecting power in Watts as displayed on all microwaveable products, this has another system, I get very hungry while I’m calculating.
This is our first microwave for over 20years. Chosen for its size and the reviews submitted. It heats evenly and quickly. The grill is a useful addition, although not as powerful as an oven grill. Overall we are pleased with the purchase.
It a great microwave.. fits well in my small galley kitche
As far as doing what it says on the tin is concerned, I can’t fault this microwave oven but there are two things which have already started annoying me since it arrived – only yesterday! The text and icons on the control panel are low contrast so it is difficult to see what they say without stooping down with reading glasses. Also, my previous microwave announce that it was finished with a single polite beep; this one beeps loudly five times and carries on even after the door is opened.
These are the sorts of things that designers do without thinking about customers’ needs or paying attention to customer feedback. The text colour may look cool on the dark background in the design software but if you need to have your eyes nine inches away to read it (or a photographic memory), it isn’t functional. Likewise, if you can’t warm up a cup of tea at 2.00 am without waking everybody in the house, it has usability issues. I only chose this model as it was on special offer and I suppose I will get used to it but as soon as the warranty has expired, I will be opening it up to find a way to muffle the beep.
Quick and easy to use - Value for money.
Great for snacks and hot drinks, when you are on the go.
The item met up to my expectations.
As promised, I received the item on the third day after placing my order. The item met up to my expectations. Really user-friendly. The feel and appearance are both excellent.
Easy To Use.
Great Product plugged it in , off I went ,all the symbols are on the front.
Instructions are very easy to read and follow.
Microwave
Inbuilt grill about as good as useless. Otherwise it’s a microwave.
Very little to say about it other than the grill is far more effective than my last one, and I love the eco-feature of being able to turn the LED display off.
I thought it was broken at first as none of the buttons would respond, but you have to open and close the door to activate it, which is a great safety feature!
This microwave is great.
So easy to use and looks good.
Excelle
Always previously purchased Panasonic cheaper and excellent value for money
Smart, small microwave that is large enough inside for a full size dinner plate and does everything you could wish. Arrived promptly, well packaged and in perfect condition.
Very easy to use and it heats up the food items pretty well. Having the option of a built in grill too is useful. One improvement would be to have a digital time clock on the microwave. Other than that I’d say this was well worth the price!
Sharp Microwave
A nice little microwave ideal for the caravan, works well no problems.
Time and Energy Savio

It's alrigh
Easy and straight forward to use- not as big as some microwaves so handy for small kitche
Fabulous value for money!
I’ve paid a lot more in the past for a microwave oven, but this is easily the best I’ve used. And a decent price too
I’d wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone!
Perfec
My previous Sharp microwave died after more than 10 years of use. This one has fits the void left perfectly. Easy to use, looks stylish.
Easy to use and reliable
I shopped around for quite a while before deciding on this model of microwave. Having had it for some time now, it is still as good as it first seemed. It’s very easy to use. The menu is almost foolproof and very self explanatory. I like that you can add 10 or 30 second increments while it’s already on, for example.
It’s also got dedicated settings for pizza, popcorn, reheating tea, etc, if you might prefer to use them.
The grill function is a great added bonus, but I think it is only realistically useful for things such as grilled cheese, rather than things that take a long time, for those, you are better with a real grill as it would be a lot faster. In my opinion this is one of the better budget microwaves available, at least at the time I purchased it, and it is still going strong.
works very well
works very well doe’s what its say’s on box and is ease to use
Smart modern stylish microwave
Loving this microwave & with the grill makes its very versatile. One has to download load the instructions unfortunately. Would be nice to have some recipes though. But proving to be a powerful addition to the kitche

Does the microwaving well. Its the owner who I blame for not knowing how to use it to its full potential! No manual included

I love the space-saving design which means there is still plenty of functional space left on the counter top surface for food prep. This is easy to clean and heats food through thoroughly and with the light facility, you can see your food whilst cooking inside the microwave. Definitely value for money and looks good.

For reasons I forget we decided we wanted to replace our dying Panasonic with a old skool turny-knob microwave. You lose the accurate timer (and digital clock, if you ever worked out how to set it) but you gain the speed of ‘turn…brrrrrr’ and of course the “DINGGG!!” When is done.
Only other knob-controlled microwaves were either supermarket own brand in garish colours orr white plastic. Hopefully will last longer than our last (Panasonic) machine.
Also has a grill… Which I didn’t actually know till rereading the description just now!

It's good
It’s a cute little compact microwave. Not very powerful and a bit small. But fits nicely into the kitchen.

My new rental has a tiny, old (?) Daewoo and it’s too Small To accommodate a small popcorn bag, and almost our plates. Tiny. A weird dial that inly had minutes and was frustrating to use. Six minutes to warm a bowl of pasta! That was the last straw. I was happy enough to have one for free for 3 months so we could spend money on more important things, but seeing the “pay over 5 months” option was the clincher And man, am I glad.
We call him Mr Sharpy and he’s bigger for sure, but also properly powerful. Easy to use. Increments that make sense. And no more burned popcorn! Highly recommend.
UPDATE: This unit is very sensitive to food in the wheel-well. If it starts moaning and making strange noises, you probably have crumbs or other obstacles you don’t know about yet that are making it hard for the turntable to move. Seems daft, but true! Clean it out, wipe the wheels (soak if meeded) and it should stop.
Want to STOP the beeping? Press (don’t hold) the child lock BUTTON once. Again, only press it once. Holding it would turn on the full Child Lock.
After pressing this button once the word ‘off’ will be displayed.
This mutes the microwave and after a minute turns on an anti tamper mode.
To exit tamper mode simply open the microwave door to un ‘Loc’.
For further help, read the microwave manual in the Child Lock section.

Belies it's low price.
Brilliant little microwave. Just the ticket for all day to day uses. Very practical and easy to use and the spec, what with the halogen grill and quick set microwave features, make it a very satisfying purchase. Excellent choice and value for money.
Overall pleased
Took a bit of time to work out setting, and you have to be careful to press firmly and at just the right angle to get the to work. Condensation can ve a bit of an issue so need to mop up excess moisture after every use, but for price compared to others am overall pleased with purchase.
Excellent and relatively cheap!
Loads of features but still simple to use as just a microwave if you’re only looking for that.
I’m not one for an ”all the bells and whistles” microwave. But this is the best of both worlds. It has loads of extra features but I use it mainly for microwaving beans, soup etc.
Would recommend!
Pleased with choice
I have only given 4 stars for easy to use and versatility as I have not used the grill yet and only time will tell.
I like the vitreous enamel interior which is why I chose this one.
Tricky touch controls
The only problem I have with this microwave is the touch control – it can be very difficult at times to get touch right to activate the touch ‘buttons’. Should be easier.
Otherwise a very good (and good looking) microwave.
great value.
we wanted a do-it-all microwave to replace our old Panasonic. This had good reviews and good spec (and not too bad a price). Very pleased with it. Simple to operate and keep clean having a flat base and not a turntable. Using the convection oven a lot too for more and more food rather than use our main oven. Excellent.
25l black flatbed - so far so good
I’ve been using this for a week now without any problems at all. I didn’t think I’d need the grill/convection oven aspects, but on offer it wasn’t much more than microwave-only ovens. I’ve found myself using the grill/convection as it cooks better than my main oven (electric fan). Heats up far quicker (less air/space to make hot) so cooking starts almost immediately. I’ve certainly found no need to preheat the oven as with my main oven, although preheat is programmable and it’ll keep it hot for 30m before automatically turning off (in case you fell asleep waiting for the preheat complete beeper) – a nice safety feature.
I kept the glass turntable from my old microwave thinking it’d make a good base plate and that was a great bit of forward planning. I can put any type of plastic container on the glass plate without fear it’ll sully the flatbed or stick to it. It’s become a permanent fixture until such time I need to pack more square things in.
The keypad beeps with every press but you can turn that off. It only beeps 4 times (moderately) when your meal is ready. Short beeps too – my old one did 8 long loud beeps that kept going even when I’d opened the door – drove me up the wall – felt like it was screaming at me “BEEEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEEP…”. I’ll give this 5* just for that alone! It goes into child lock mode after a few minutes of non-use. Just press mute for 3s to unlock, or open/close the door.
It looks lovely in black. The door is slightly mirrored and you can use it as such if you want. The clock is a nice clear white. You can turn it off by pressing stop for 3s – I don’t need 3 clocks in the kitchen.
Nothing to complain about regarding this oven at all – works perfectly and probably more efficiently than using my main oven for simple frozen fish/chips type easy meals.
I do find the manual lacking though. 9 pages of warnings. 2 pages for installation. 1 page for “control panel”. Just 3 pages related to cooking. The “auto cook” (program) table A01-A13 is sorely lacking. It just tells you “code=food type”. eg “A10 = oven chips”. It does not tell you if that program uses microwave, grill or convection, how long it runs for or what power levels. If you don’t know a program is going to use the grill and you put a plastic container in then you’re going to have a serious problem. I tried A10 for my first cook and it uses both grill and convection. I could only tell this by staring into the microwave and seeing the grill element turn red – just for a few minutes then it turns off while the convection oven does the rest. It would be nice if the manual stated how each program operates. I’ve drawn a table in the back of the manual to write down how each program works as I nervously venture through the programs possibly using the wrong type of container. Much better to use the manual combos/settings methinks.
However – the A10 did my frozen fish and chips really well (using the supplied “baking tray” – no idea if I was supposed to use it for that). It runs for 20 mins (not adjustable) and needed another 5 mins to get them just right. Exactly how long depends on many things including how cold your freezer actually is. Live and learn.
A thumbs up for the oven. A thumbs down for the manual if it’s the programs you specifically need. If you prefer manual operation then all that is explained well; microwave only, grill only, convection only, microwave+grill (eg lasagne), microwave+convection (eg chicken and steak). There doesn’t seem to be grill+convection so I’m still not sure how my A10 fish and chips cooked! I used the metal baking tray so it can’t be microwaved, the grill did come on so it must be grill+convection even though it’s not manually possible.
All in all a very capable oven. Flatbed rocks – you have the entire expanse of the square base available (12″ x 12″, 30cm x 30cm – a tiny bit more but that’s about right). The manual states internal dimensions of 330 x 220 x 335 mm (W x H x D). That is somewhat misleading. The base is not that size. It’s only 330mm wide if you measure from the indent on the left hand panel half way up. It’s only 335mm deep if you include the inner indent on the door – 335mm actually comes out of the oven a little. I’d not be buying any dishes based on the manuals dimensions. I’ve a 12″x12″ pizza stone that fits with just a little room to spare on each side.
Great microwave good convection ove
This is a good product, Ive used it for 2 months so far. I preferred the previous incarnation with the pull down door which meant you could access the interior from either side, but this is as good functionally. It works well as a convection oven but I suspect the temperature is lower than that indicated and takes longer to cook stuff than in a normal convection oven. The upside is that it uses much less energy and only takes 3mins to heat to temperature. I’d buy it again.
It's black and the buttons are hard to read
The buttons are difficult to read, you need to press more of them than previous microwaves, and the clock zeros if/when you turn the power off. Annoying 5 loud bleeps when it’s done, previous microwave gave only 3 and they weren’t as piercing!
