Very capient and easy to use and clean.
It’s a pity it was available just on white.
Check the size of your space as the item is quite on the large size.

Selected to replace an antiquated item, working ok but confused by the power settings, I was used to selecting power in Watts as displayed on all microwaveable products, this has another system, I get very hungry while I’m calculating.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is our first microwave for over 20years. Chosen for its size and the reviews submitted. It heats evenly and quickly. The grill is a useful addition, although not as powerful as an oven grill. Overall we are pleased with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersAs far as doing what it says on the tin is concerned, I can’t fault this microwave oven but there are two things which have already started annoying me since it arrived – only yesterday! The text and icons on the control panel are low contrast so it is difficult to see what they say without stooping down with reading glasses. Also, my previous microwave announce that it was finished with a single polite beep; this one beeps loudly five times and carries on even after the door is opened.

These are the sorts of things that designers do without thinking about customers’ needs or paying attention to customer feedback. The text colour may look cool on the dark background in the design software but if you need to have your eyes nine inches away to read it (or a photographic memory), it isn’t functional. Likewise, if you can’t warm up a cup of tea at 2.00 am without waking everybody in the house, it has usability issues. I only chose this model as it was on special offer and I suppose I will get used to it but as soon as the warranty has expired, I will be opening it up to find a way to muffle the beep.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery little to say about it other than the grill is far more effective than my last one, and I love the eco-feature of being able to turn the LED display off.

I thought it was broken at first as none of the buttons would respond, but you have to open and close the door to activate it, which is a great safety feature!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery easy to use and it heats up the food items pretty well. Having the option of a built in grill too is useful. One improvement would be to have a digital time clock on the microwave. Other than that I’d say this was well worth the price!

I shopped around for quite a while before deciding on this model of microwave. Having had it for some time now, it is still as good as it first seemed. It’s very easy to use. The menu is almost foolproof and very self explanatory. I like that you can add 10 or 30 second increments while it’s already on, for example.
It’s also got dedicated settings for pizza, popcorn, reheating tea, etc, if you might prefer to use them.
The grill function is a great added bonus, but I think it is only realistically useful for things such as grilled cheese, rather than things that take a long time, for those, you are better with a real grill as it would be a lot faster. In my opinion this is one of the better budget microwaves available, at least at the time I purchased it, and it is still going strong.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFor reasons I forget we decided we wanted to replace our dying Panasonic with a old skool turny-knob microwave. You lose the accurate timer (and digital clock, if you ever worked out how to set it) but you gain the speed of ‘turn…brrrrrr’ and of course the “DINGGG!!” When is done.

Only other knob-controlled microwaves were either supermarket own brand in garish colours orr white plastic. Hopefully will last longer than our last (Panasonic) machine.

Also has a grill… Which I didn’t actually know till rereading the description just now!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy new rental has a tiny, old (?) Daewoo and it’s too Small To accommodate a small popcorn bag, and almost our plates. Tiny. A weird dial that inly had minutes and was frustrating to use. Six minutes to warm a bowl of pasta! That was the last straw. I was happy enough to have one for free for 3 months so we could spend money on more important things, but seeing the “pay over 5 months” option was the clincher And man, am I glad.

We call him Mr Sharpy and he’s bigger for sure, but also properly powerful. Easy to use. Increments that make sense. And no more burned popcorn! Highly recommend.

UPDATE: This unit is very sensitive to food in the wheel-well. If it starts moaning and making strange noises, you probably have crumbs or other obstacles you don’t know about yet that are making it hard for the turntable to move. Seems daft, but true! Clean it out, wipe the wheels (soak if meeded) and it should stop.

After pressing this button once the word ‘off’ will be displayed.
This mutes the microwave and after a minute turns on an anti tamper mode.

To exit tamper mode simply open the microwave door to un ‘Loc’.

Brilliant little microwave. Just the ticket for all day to day uses. Very practical and easy to use and the spec, what with the halogen grill and quick set microwave features, make it a very satisfying purchase. Excellent choice and value for money.

Took a bit of time to work out setting, and you have to be careful to press firmly and at just the right angle to get the to work. Condensation can ve a bit of an issue so need to mop up excess moisture after every use, but for price compared to others am overall pleased with purchase.

Loads of features but still simple to use as just a microwave if you’re only looking for that.

I’m not one for an ”all the bells and whistles” microwave. But this is the best of both worlds. It has loads of extra features but I use it mainly for microwaving beans, soup etc.

    Would recommend!

The only problem I have with this microwave is the touch control – it can be very difficult at times to get touch right to activate the touch ‘buttons’. Should be easier.

we wanted a do-it-all microwave to replace our old Panasonic. This had good reviews and good spec (and not too bad a price). Very pleased with it. Simple to operate and keep clean having a flat base and not a turntable. Using the convection oven a lot too for more and more food rather than use our main oven. Excellent.

This is a good product, Ive used it for 2 months so far. I preferred the previous incarnation with the pull down door which meant you could access the interior from either side, but this is as good functionally. It works well as a convection oven but I suspect the temperature is lower than that indicated and takes longer to cook stuff than in a normal convection oven. The upside is that it uses much less energy and only takes 3mins to heat to temperature. I’d buy it again.

The buttons are difficult to read, you need to press more of them than previous microwaves, and the clock zeros if/when you turn the power off. Annoying 5 loud bleeps when it’s done, previous microwave gave only 3 and they weren’t as piercing!

Lovely microwave, but one thing I was upset about was that the door sounds very ‘tinny’. When opening and shutting. My previous MW was a softer close (also a Sharp),but otherwise okay.

This was required just before Christmas when our old unit broke down. The power is noticeable and the easy to clean ceramic inside is a real boon. The unit is quite large but that is ok as it is also larger inside and that just makes it more versatile. The touch buttons work fine and are responsive and the display is clear and bright. This is a capable Microwave and its performance has been noticeable compared to the unit it replaced which was from a leading brand. This Sharp unit is just better in every way. Impressed.

Door makes a lot of noise when shutting. Still getting use to all the functions. Easy to keep clean.

I’m very happy with this microwave, which I’ve now had for nearly 2 months.
It’s very easy to use, no fuss. I mostly use the high microwave setting, or the grill. The grill function is a great addition for some quick fixes, and to avoid heating up the full oven for something small. It’s cheaper than most combi models that I found online.
The only negative is the beeping when it finishes, which all microwaves seems to have. It beeps 5 times if you don’t open the door before it reaches the specified time. It’s not a very loud beep, but still annoying. I’d love to be able to switch this off.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis was purchased to replaced an ageing 750w microwave/grill. Rated at 900w this microwave is far more powerful than that it replaced, although the grill doesn’t seem to be quite as effective. The design is almost identical to a Panasonic microwave that we had 20 years ago, but which lasted very well. The oven itself is cavernous, and will accommodate the largest of dinner plates on the turntable.

The Achilles heel of this machine is the control panel. Front mounted it features a pressure membrane which is less than sensitive and the control buttons themselves are extremely difficult to read, particularly in poor light. You can use either Microwave mode, Grill mode, or a combination of both.

Whilst there are a number of options, most require a number of key presses – although there is a leftover from our old Panasonic which isn’t publicised too well – press the start button without making any other selections and it will activate the microwave on full power for 30 seconds. Press it, say, 4 times in quick succession and it will run for 2 minutes (4×30 seconds), and so on. That does save a bit of time!

Smaller than a lot of other microwaves but does what we need it to do. Big enough for normal sized plates.
    Pros:
    Compact size
    Easy to use
    Looks nice
Works as well as our previous microwave did, before it needed to be replaced with this one.
    Reasonable price.

    Cons
Loud beep! Which you can not stop once it is doing the finishing beeps. Also button pushes have loud beeps too.
Very light so need to consider what surface it will be placed on so it does not slide when using the buttons
or get some pads to stop it from sliding.

Although it works well it would be better if Sharp had included a cookery book. My only complaint is that the plastic film which covers the panel on the front is torn already and is coming off. I think that Sharp should make some adjustment to this model.

I instantly fell in love with this product because it is easy to use, has all the same functions and features in the same place, which is good for my mum, who suffers from a small bit of memory loss. However, the added addition of a grill makes this so awesome. My previous Microwave had digital buttons and initially I found this microwave difficult to set for precise timings.
However, I have now got used to it. I do feel that I maybe have to wipe up condensation too frequently.
However, I realize that this is probably due to excellent sealing of the unit.

I got this item because it looks great and it is huge for the money. I used it against my old 750-800 Watts microwave and it is not as good as my old one. I did try different settings and type of food or beverage and it was always colder than the old microwave.
I am looking for something more powerfully than our old one and therefore i am going to return it back. I do recommended it if you are looking for a budget big 28l microwave.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSpeed of delivery was excellent and I would recommend this item (with caveats).
Being a ‘family’ of two (SWMBO and “him”), and with our ‘old’ microwave ceasing to function three says ago, ordered this – and it arrived yesterday.
The manual was easy to follow – I (and “him”) now have another timer available in the kitchen :).
My only regrets are that the microwave rice pack we used today was too tall, so I had to ‘flatten’ it slightly (and will be the same with any other micro rice packs) and the splash guard we had for our old microwave is too big.
    Otherwise (so far) wonderful.

works fine but the main thing I dislike is every time you use it you have to press the microwave select button. This should be the default button after all its a microwave not a toaster.

I bought this to replace another Sharp microwave which had begun to rust inside, but that was after 10 years at least. This has a grill element which I thought I would try. I mostly use a microwave for warming up, rather than cooking, and it doesn’t require a degree to work out how to programme it. It sits neatly on my work top without dominating it.

I wanted a big capacity microwave with a high energy. Didn’t really want the grill function but the price was good compared to other large capacity microwaves, so the grill is a useful bonus. However it does reduce the useable capacity in terms of height. once you twig that you have to press the “Microwave” button multiple times to get the lower energy settings it’s very easy to use. If you want to use multiple periods at different energy settings you have to open the door to change settings each time. Once you have finished, removed the food and closed the door, open and close the door again or, for some strange reason it will “ding” again after a few minutes. Disconcerting but not a problem.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersSo far so good. Lovely cheese on toast with no mess. Not sure I’d use the grill function for bacon or sausages (how would you clean up?) But fab for general browning.
The only slight reservation so far is that the off/on control knob is hard to turn, relying on a strong finger grip and a rather slippery knob. Not a great combo. However, the controls are easy to understand. And if one overturns them accidentally I gather it’s ok to push them backwards…

Golden Review Award: 228 From Our UsersMy 3rd Sharp microwave. The 1st was a big combination job, brilliant and long-lasting; 2nd was also a combination, but didn’t last very long. This time I decided I only needed a very simple one, but it had to be big enough to take my 30cm dinner plates. Bizarrely, this combination one was 20 cheaper than the simple one, so I went for it. I haven’t used most of its features, but it works fine for simple heating up, that being all I need it for, but it beeps excessively! The door button is easy to use, and it opens gently enough. One has to press the ‘microwave’ button before entering a time, which is pretty annoying – it should default to microwave – but the start button does default to 30 seconds microwave, and one can add to that with the time buttons, so not too difficult once one gets used to it.
It beeps every time I press any button, and five times at the end of the programme – and it won’t shut up if I immediately open the door, nor will it let me activate the Stop/Clear button while it’s beeping. If I neglect to take my food/drink out of the microwave, it beeps (twice) again five minutes later, which can be helpful, but it also beeps (twice) five minutes after I have taken it out! Why? What is the point of that? Mobile phones can be set for silent operation of keys, so why can’t we have a silent option on a microwave? (It should still beep at the end of the programme, but that’s the only beep I ever really need to hear from my microwave!) It is very annoying that I can’t use it quietly while husband is still asleep.
An extra press of the Stop/Clear button removes the time display, to save energy, but it would be better if this were handled by a ‘no time display’ setting, rather than having to press the key again after every use.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersPros
    Great defrost
    Easy to use
    Huge inside
    Easy to clean
    Even heat in food

    Cons
Takes longer than my previous microwave though the heat is more even
Grill is terrible – it doesn’t do anything, no effect even after extended recommended time

Overall, this microwave is an amazing buy for the money, so long as it lasts ok. We’re happy with the capacity, the even cooking and the thorough defrost.

With other microwaves it’s easy to just blast and go and you have to be very cautious not to leave things too long whereas this one seems so steady and reliable, for example I defrosted 10 sausages and within 20 all were evenly and completely done without scalding and mushiness which is great.

The digital display is really easy to use – simply press the times you want in increments of 10 minutes or 1 minute, or in 10 seconds. I think the size may actually help with the cooking as there’s plenty of space inside. I’m really happy with this and glad I went with the reviews that make this the top selle

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersOur old microwave, A Sharp 23 Lt, ‘died’ of old age. We decided to go for a 25 ltr and so bought this model, which also has a grill. it arrived sooner than expected and it didn’t take long before we were trying it out. It is worth reading the instructions before using it. We have not tried the grill out yet. It is bigger in size than our previous one but we are very happy with it.
