I liked everything, the product is high-quality, the sound is divine, thank you very much, I advise you to buy from this seller.
Note – I can’t comment on sound quality because I spent too much time playing bass next to loud drummers. But as far as function is concerned, we love it. We use vintage hi-fi equipment from the 70’s for our TV sound system and this thing gave us remote volume control, which is huge for my wife. And it at least seems to sound awesome. I definitely prefer it to the Schiit DAC.
Very good sound but not audiophile grade. It’s okay for its price. The remote control works great and it’s a wonderful feature it has volume control, you can use it as a pre amplifier. Looks very nice. I loved the feature you can put it vertical or horizontal and the display detects it showing the info in the right way.
It doesn’t have Dolby digital decoder or any 5.1 decoder. It’s okay cause is a stereo DAC, it’s just to be aware of that.
The SMSL Sanskrit 10 the more I play it the better it sounds. It add the right amount of depth to the my music. I play Jazz more than other genres, but when I listen today’s popular music it handles the bass without sounding boomy. The new generation have no clue about really good music. When my son in law comes over he could believe the sound when listening to a movie in surround play through the DAC. He went and purchased a nice surround system for his family to enjoy. So I would recommend this DAC. Oh by the way the remote does come in handy you have a second option to control the sound or to be used as a pre-amp.
Right off the bat I have to say wow. I was not expecting the change in audio quality to be so noticable coming from my other dacs. Most of my stuff is a year or more old and it is clear this last year has been a huge jump for budget audio. This mkii version sounds every bit as good if not better than a couple expensive dacs my friend owns that I have been envious of. It is so good said friend just placed an order after hearing mine to replace his bedroom dac which is a $400 dac. Compared to every ess based dac I have heard this is more enjoyable and has a better soundstage. It is a more smooth sound compared to ess and more clear sounding than the fact used if the ifi budget stuff. The mkii also beats out that loxjie d20 that uses the supposedly “better” ak4997. That one just seems to have something weird going on with it making it not as good as it should be with the dac chip it is using. If you are coming from a dac in the $100-$200 range from 6months or more ago this will be a big upgrade. The filters and remote are a nice plus on top of the performance. Some of the filters are impossible to notice but filter 5 seems to help my brighter headphones rolling off the top end and adds some soundstage. Filter 1 is the stock filter and is quick responding and clean. Personally I changed it to 5 and left it. I really like the sound I get from that filter. The rest of the filters sound really close to filter 1.
I like this DAC well enough, it is actually part of my “end game” setup right now. I have this DAC running into a Schiit Magni Heresy amplifier. Do not let words like “budget” or “entry level” as others have described this DAC as put you off from buying it. There are a few good reviewers who have made extensive measurements of this unit and speak of this DAC very favorably. You will notice how quiet this unit is, right from the start – it is quiet. No noise or distortion. You will get a detailed and analytical presentation of your audio through this. I have worked in music production, so I appreciate when my music is being presented to me as the original producers intend it to be. I do not like my audio to be “flavored” to be more enjoyable. I trust the artists and those who mix their music’s and you should too. If you must add some “seasoning” to your audio, get this and add a nice little tube amplifier and a pair of headphones that are known to be very musical. I love the neutral and honest presentation this little box delivers and I believe you may also.
Had an old pair of HS5s around after upgrading to HS8s. Hooked them up to my old computer monitor using a basic audio HDMI extractor and was unimpressed. Bought this (admittedly mostly for the remote) and was blown away. A HUGE improvement over the cheap audio extractor (which is still providing the audio from HDMI, this time to TOSLINK and so hopefully not processing it at all). The volume adjustment is both subtle and responsive with a huge number of levels that begin to change rapidly after a small delay. The remote also works with other SMSL devices if you have any. My desktop SU-8 remote worked dandily while I looked for batteries (not included with this device). I did try to use it as a USB DAC with my Note 9 and Nintendo Switch, both over USB C to micro B, and neither worked. My only complaint is with the inputs; it always seems like another TOSLINK would be more useful than a coaxial on every DAC I’ve ever owned (Schiit Modi, SMSL SU-8, FiiO E10K, FiiO BTR3, Creative G3 all top out at a single TOSLINK). Great value for money, outstanding sound and features for the price, and would make a great desktop or bookshelf DAC for a smaller system (this and a powered pair of monitors is a great start to a mini hi-fi or secondary system).
This DAC preamp does the job! I can now control the volume with a remote. Optical signal from my Samsung 75 inch TV in and Anolog out on RCA cables to my Pioneer 1050 with SAE speakers. Sounds great. Easy to use remote.
Hooked this up to my Sony ubp-x800 Blu-ray player since it does not have an analog out. Sent the coaxial signal to the dac and the analog to my headphone amp. Works great and the volume control with remote is a real + allowing you to adjust headphone level.

Great DAC after you use the aux USB power with an external power adapter. Very transparent and detailed. Adds more weight and clarity to the audio. Not a big improvement with tv or cable box output. Fantastic with my MAC MINI i’m using for streaming and HI-FI . looks cool and the remote is something every Dac should come with.
it’s a keeper..
I purchased this to fix a problem I had. I have a headphone amp that I’m was using as my output signal to my studio monitors. The problem was the power switch to the headphone amp is on the back of the unit which makes it a real pain to turn on and off every time I want to hear the monitors. Plus, the headphone amp gets really, really hot when left on for long periods of time. So my fix is now to use this as my output single to the monitors and when I shut down my PC it goes to sleep as well. So no more pain turning on the amp and more so turning it off. It also sounds great too! It has no hissing or popping when turned up loud and no cracking sound when turning off or on, which I experienced with other units similar to this one.
I would recommend this to others.
Perfect dac for the price, best sound equipment I’ve ever bought in my life.
Pros:
1.Optical,Coax, USB inputs
2.Quiet, no discernable noise, black background
3.Remote with volume control
4.very smooth sound with flacs, cleans up mpeg harshness
5.works out of the box with win10 usb
6. In stock
Cons:
1.no 5v wall wart
2.documentatio
Quality Dac with brilliant soundstage and audio detail. Listening pleasure.
Updated after months of listening. The Sanskrit is incredibly good value. Beautifully balanced in its presentation, though lively and detailed, it has bought a whole new level of listening enjoyment to my music collection, and to the discovery of new music. I particularly enjoy the USB input, from which I am getting true high quality audio, even from mobile phone and tablet. Matches well with my vintage amp and Klipsch speakers. No listening fatigue, just musicality at its best, especially for the price. Don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed.
I could use it very little time, because the remote control stopped working, and this is the one that allows to regulate the level of audio output. Despite having returned, I think it is a good DAC, but I would like that also had a manual way to control the level of output on the computer itself. After analyzing other options I’m thinking of reacquiring it, it seems that the problem I had is an isolated and non-recurrent fact in other buyers.
This is decent sounding DAC with a lot of options and connections. You don’t see many DACs with a remote and volume control. The built quality is great! This DAC using the AKM chip and has a unique sound, but you will need to see if it matches well with your speakers. It seems to highlight the bass and roll off the highs, which is fine if your setup needs help in those two areas.
Crystal clean sound, very quite background. If you want a hifi decoder with this price, that is your choice! Volume settings and input selection and power on/off status can be kept even you disconnect power.
