Bought it incase i got benefit sanction and had to beg in times of Covid contactless. Easy to set up and use, looks good, portable and best value machine and pay 2% of transaction affordable as monthly payments, would be too dear as it’s for backup and reassurance. Works well on test.

Just what I needed
Sumup card reader arrived on time and fully charged ready to go. all you need to do is setup your Sumup account on line and you are ready to take card payments, subject to mobile or Wi-Fi reception and Bluetooth to your mobile phone. Reader is about half the size of a phone and battery is said to last for up to 500 transactions. No monthly fee just 1.69% per transaction based on value.

The fastest was to receive your money is to use the sum up Mastercard that follows in about 5 days after you activate it.
This takes 1 day to clear payments.
Payments to your own bank take 3 days.
And for the cost of 7p out of 10 and no other cost I just love it. And so easy to use.

Great card reader…easy to use…once set up connects very quickly via Bluetooth to phone….Ive used other readers in the past…always had connection issues..not with the Sum up….
I sell my paintings at exhibitions and local farmers type markets. Prices are in excess of 100, but these days no one carries that sort of cash or a cheque book. Pretty much everyone carries plastic, so this means I don’t lose a sale when the opportunity arises.
It is also only used very infrequently, so it costs me nothing to have it sitting in a draw until I need it.

I have alot of these for my mobile technicians they are great, payments in the bank next day, I have mainly the 3G version though.

Le caratteristiche le conosciamo tutti, comodo per accettare pagamenti in mobilit. Non so se normale, ma mi successo un paio di volte di non avere il collegamento con il cellulare, seppure bluetooth attivato e batterie cariche, e quindi di non poterlo utilizzare. Il vantaggio che non impone un canone fisso, paghi 1,95% di commissione per ogni incasso effettuato, che a parere mio un p altino, ma se consideri che ti capita un periodo che per qualche motivo non lo usi risparmi il costo fisso. L’attivazione non complicata, basta seguire alla lettera le indicazioni e in pochissimo tempo attivo.

Bought for my son to use rather than having to carry around cash payments from customers. He loves it, easy to use with only minimal fees. Also found that he could apply for a card that allowed him to access customers payment almost immediately allowing him to buy materials without having to wait for the money to be transferred into his company account. He tells me it can also issue receipts via text message to customers at point of transaction.

I am a small business and most of my clients pay by card.Before SumUp I used to have a rented terminal,quite a bulky device and really expensive.I used to pay 25 each month + 2% on each transaction,not to mention the compliace.

Shocked
I bought this product in July and had initially found it good, however yesterday a customer tried a contactless payment and it was refused. I tried a second time and a message appeared on the screen ‘ Device Blocked’.
When I visited Support I read that this is irreversible and the device is now trash.
How can this be? What a pathetically weak piece of equipment. I need a refund.

I purchased as more people are preferring to pay contactless now. I wanted a quick, simple and cheap way to be able to take card payments. This does all 3. Was easy to set up and pair with my phone and the app. Easy clear instructions. You do not need to be very technical minded to be able to use it.
Payment was taken instantly. I like too that the transaction fee is a lot lower then other alternatives like PayPal.
