This is my third ActiFry, I just find them so easy to use. Food is cooked evenly and quickly. Appliance is easy to clean and looks good sitting on my worktop.

    Absolutely love it!
This is the ultimate air fryer and is brilliant. It needs very little oil and produces really great food, especially sauted potato or chips. The second level maximizes the potential and does fish fillets really well. Really glad I moved up to this model.

    Great chips as expected!
Great chips that I always expect from my actifry. This is about my 4th or 5th version and probably the best. The sharing dips tray is a great addition and it seems to be a lot easier to clean. Dishwasher friendly as well!

Heavy unit to move around. Takes a little while to get to use it. Instructions not always clear. Part not sure what to do with. Filter hard to remove. Does tje glass lid come off for cleaning? No instructions about this.

    Tefal Airfrie
We have only just received this item and are still working out how long things need to be cooked for. Trying out the times suggested in the manual has let us find out which need more or less duration.. Certainly it seems a very clever device and no vast amounts of hot oil anywhere. So far we have used for chips and sausages. Chips need less time and sausages a little more than those suggested but this is a learning curve.

Not the usual kitchen gadget ✨
Such a great addition to the kitchen, not the usual tucked into the bottom cupboard kitchen gadget.
I find myself able to put great quick family meals together using the tefal actifry.
Love all chips, fries and battered/ breaded nuggets and onion rings made using this and all in 12minutes..super crispy .
Unfortunately my first actifry is having a few issues with the heating element after 12 months, however Amazon are working to the manufacturers direct to have the issue rectified be it a replacement part or complete unit so all good, great device great tech suppo

I had a very old actifry that gave up the ghost. Needed another one asap and this was delivered quick. I’m so chuffed my new one is far better than the old one easier to clean and cooks far quicker.

Works great although a tad on the noisy side. I’m not sure where all the money went as even though it works great so did my old air fryer and that coz me 30 lol.
Always looks a bit smudgy due to the plastic finishes used.
Wouldn’t buy one again but would buy an air fryer of sorts again.

    Love this Actifry!
Love this actifry! Had one years ago that used to spit chips out around the edge and I kept having to open the lid to put them back in the pan. This one has a lip that stops that happening. It’s not huge, but I can easily do enough for 3 hungry adults. Did a stir fry in it the other night that was lush! Very happy with this purchase and am going to buy another two for Easter gifts instead of chocolate!

Works really well with frozen fries and no oil
This is my second Actifry. My first was bought about 12 years ago and it eventually died, beyond repair.
    Pros:
Minimises frying smells. Easy to get reasonably priced Tefal spares for: pan, lid filter, motor etc.
Does a reasonable job on fresh cut chips, but frozen fries are excellent, with no oil added.
Produces reasonable roast potatoes. Most parts can go in the dishwasher, so good to clean.
Uses a minimum of oil. I take ours away in our camper van
    Cons:
Looks ugly and takes up a lot of worktop space. Mine is stored, hidden in a cupboard.

    Best appliance in the kitche
Fantastic – I`m still amazed after several weeks with regards to the quality of food produced from this. As for instance the Chips / Roast potatoes produced from just peeled potatoes is sublime, they are amazing and after 30 years of cooking in the kitchen I can honestly say this product produces fabulous dishes. No mess just a spoon of Olive oil or even better Avocado oil “Yes Avocado oil” – no after taste and extremely healthy option – Note: if you want extra crispy Roasters just place in the oven for another 5 / 10 mins 🙂

Bought this product to replace my basic actifry. Bit fiddly to clean but not a big problem. It is very easy to use with 100’s of recipes to try, savoury, sweet and cakes. I have tried quite a few of the recipes and found them delicious.

    Versatile without the oil smell
The unit is easy to use and clean. The paddle does get coated and more difficult to clean. Small amounts of food do tend to pile up as rotated. Main dislike is the lack of good information on how long cooking time is for the quantity involved. So trial and error to get best results. The app is unhelpful in this respect. But it is a clean answer by using so little oil to the old deep fat fryer. No more oil smells over the whole kitchen!

Bought this to replace my cheaper air fryer earlier this year and I’m glad I did. The mechanism rotates food to ensure evenly cooked food. You can also remove the turning mechanism for food which potentially breaks up (softer foods or breaded etc) which is useful. I use this every day as do my flatmates who sceptical on air fryers but are now Actifry converts!

Absolutely happy with this purchase. It makes cooking lot of easy. Have used this for months now and we enjoy cooking in this airfryer. We have so far tried variety of meats, vegetables and potato fries, all came really well with less or no oil. The Tefal ActiFry app provides bunch of recipes for those who want to try out some variety cooking. Cleaning inside the fryer itself is bit time consuming, but overall a great addition to the kitchen.

Easy to use, an improvement on the old model, excellent quality chips.
Our ancient actifry finally died which is why we bought this one. Better quality chips in this one, we thoughtought it was the potatoes we were using in the old one that made them start to break up during cooking but it turns out it was the machine, no such issues with this one. It’s really easy to set with automatic timings for certain foods, just two button presses to set the chips cooking. Easy adjustment of time with + and – buttons.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this machine, we are really happy with it.

Not as good as Philip since I had one.

Can only use frozen food not good for freshly made by yourself as the powers will come out from the cracker as someone as mentioned but I didn’t take this seriously. The moving paddle is not good for fish which will be broken easily.

Had been wanting to purchase this for quite a while, used one in the past , great for making slimming world friendly chips, wedges, frozen chips etc. Lots of meal ideas on YouTube recommend this one as it has the paddle which rotates for even cooking rather than other air fryers.

    Brilliant produc
My family were looking to eat healthier so we invested in the Tefal air fryer. It has proven to be an excellent choice and we have used it to make lots of delicious low fat meals. Because the air fryer has an internal paddle which turns the food as it cooks all the contents come out really well cooked and taste as good as deep fried. It is easy to use and easy to clean and I would absolutely recommend this produc

    Healthy tasty cooking
Bought this to replace my old one that had died after 6 years faithfull service. Same model with a face-lift and now the timer can be removed to carry it with you, to be honest I have never used the timer as it doesn’t turn the fryer off so I don’t see it as much benefit. The fryer however is brilliant really nice crispy fries only much healthier but it doesn’t end there, great wedges, roast potatoes chicken wings, prawns, samosas etc. I have bought lots of kitchen gadgets over the years but this has been something that didn’t end up in the back of the cupboard, I would highly recommend this fryer for a small family or couple for larger families the XL version would be better.

Can't live without it. One of my best ever buys. Bought 3 for me and 1 each for my 3 adult kids.
I have had one of these for over 14 years and they are great. No dangerous fat, only half a teaspoon at most. Very tasty chips and its quick and easy. I press 2 buttons. I make chips out of carrots as well and cook them with the potato chips so my husband gets some healthy food. Easy to wipe clean except maybe the stirrer and they all will go in the dishwasher except the actual cooker / holder of course. The cooking pan and handle, detachable lip to hold chips in better when serving, stirrer, detachable lid( tho I can wipe that clean as well) all go in the dishwasher if you want . No turning over in the oven to do. I even sit my two plates on top of the fryer carefully, and they get warm ready for tea/dinner. I decided to clear out the old fat fryer from our static caravan as no one used it and put my dry fryer in there and buy a new one for my home. No regrets ever after all these years. I have to confess i never cook anything but chips in it after a failed try at beef bolognese 14 years ago. We have salmon and chips and peas, steak and chips etc etc. Sausage and chips. I even make chips at barbis. And no we are not fat and overweight at all. I would recommend the Tefal fryer to anybody. If you want a free unused but 11 year old deep fat fryer i’m the person to ask.

    Wouldn’t be without now
Pros: Just put the food in and leave to cook, the paddle ensures the food is evenly cooked. Does great chips. It’s a great design, that actually works. Cons: I’ve been using Actifry era for years, this is my third one. They are really easy to clean in the beginning, but after a lot of use the unit itself, that holds the bowl does become grease stained around the mesh filter which is impossible to clean. Although after a lot of use I suppose it’s to be expected, although I wish there was a cleaner I could use. That said in a couple of years I will buy another one.

A-M-A-Z-ing … I was talked into getting this fryer by a great cook and friend in work, I fought with myself because of the price but she raved about it so much I bought it. Best purchase ever and so much healthier, oven chips are sooo much nicer, I’ve done spicy wedges from fresh spuds, roast potatoes, sausages, my own home made chips, chicken dippers/nuggets, stir fry, fratitas….this thing is a total game changer, easy to clean, well worth the money, highly recommended

Really good buy! Most used appliance in the house (nearly)
I was looking at and reviewing air fryers for some time before I finally purchased.
My husband was also so on the fence.
However I got my way and finally made the purchase and then told him!
We have never regretting the decision on buying one!
We were actually thinking of buying another because we use it that much.
I would recommend buying some of the additional extras you can buy. We opted for the basket. It clips onto piece of airfryer and spins around while cooking. This is handy for cooking things that don’t get squashed.
To be honest we use the attachment for everything.
Its great not having to worry about turning food. I’ve literally stuck to cooking oven food in the airfryer. I’m not one of those not will I be trying desserts etc
For what we use it for I’m delighted. Not massive I won’t lie, hence considering buying another but that’s the only Downside.
Would buy again and I would recommend and I have been recommend an air fryer even since we bought one!

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersLife Made Simple
A very versatile kitchen gadgetry. We’ve had a good play with it now and feel confident to express my thoughts.
The longer I’ve owned this the more I realise that it can do.
    Desserts, even doughnuts? No problem.

There’s 9 preset programmes, making it a pretty smart piece of kit for 5/6 people.
It stops cooking automatically and keeps food warm for upto an hour.
Yes, most people will buy this for a quick fry up. Chips, bacon, sausages. All it copes with, surprisingly well. You’re left with a nice crisp outer on the chips with a smooth fluffy interior. All types of fries: sweet potatoes, curly, frozen southern style and fresh potatoes, all work very well with a little adjustment of the times.

The big clear screen on the lid allows you to keep an eye on the food as it cooks, with the option of pausing at any point to taste-test.
It takes about 30 minutes for fresh chip shop style chips and around half of that for frozen French fries, give or take.

Fresh sweet potato chips can look a little bewildered after frying as the paddle works them around the bowl during the cooking cycle, chomping at them, during the very soft phase of the cooking cycle. They’re still cooked perfectly, with a crisp exterior and soft centre.

FYI: all programmable times are changeable – if you like your grub little extra crisp, it’s quick and simple to add extra time on, before or during cooking. The programs you choose are food-group-specific – it will adjust the speed of the paddle and the temperature accordingly.

If you’re using pre-packaged frozen chips like McCain’s, you need not add any oil as they come saturated in oil, just check the ingredients if you’re not sure.
For fresh chips, use the plastic scoop provided, add any oil of your choice. Be it rapeseed, lard, peanut, sunflower even avocado oil.

You can set two meal programs in one go on this ‘Plus’ version. Place all your ingredients in at the same time and have them all complete cooking at the same finishing time.

If you want to make a quick meal with a dessert, this is your one-stop-shop. It does things I didn’t think it would cope with. Even granola for our hearty breakfast.

It’s quick and easy to wash as everything is removable or wipeable. As its non-stick it doesnt take much effort, nor are there any fiddly pieces to contend with.

Controllable by our our young son, who can make himself a meal on the whim, with a bit of supervision, a quick rinse in the sink and then he whips up warm brownie for dessert for all, from a packet. All in this machine and deliciously gooey centered, which he serves with ice cream.

This makes the ActiFry very versatile for him being young and not quite ready to cope with a large twin set of hot ovens.
This has to be more economical than running the ovens too.

The ActiFry is a hefty thing – you will need counter space or a whole shelf in the cupboard. It’s also pretty loud. Probably beats our quieter Neff extractor in the decibels scale.

There’s a clever little app you can download to your smart device with countless recipes and know-how, plus tips too. I’ve learnt things I never thought a machine like this could manage. It’s still a learning curve, we’ve adapted recipes from the App and also found new ways of making things from our own repertoire.
It’s the design that’s made this machine such a breeze to use and clean.

In all honestly, I don’t know how I’ve coped with children, without this mechanical marvel throwing out a quick meal whenever we so will.
All without hard grafting in the prep, strong fry-up odours during cooking, or massive cleanup afterwards.
    5 stars.

I hope you’ve found this review useful.

Perfect chips, wedges, chicken wings every time!
Brilliant machine. Pricy but worth the money. It effortlessly cooks chips, wedges, chicken wings to perfection. I never actually realised how badly my oven handled these foods until I tasted how great they were out of the ActiFry.
My main oven takes almost 15 minutes to preheat. The actifry does a batch of chips for two in around 25 minutes. 30 minutes for wedges and chicken wings for two, no preheating required so it’s much quicker than the main oven. It’s also very simple to clean, the inner basket is light yet sturdy and the stirring paddle is simple to fit and remove and clean.
The machine does not shut off when the timer beeps, but I am never far away from the kitchen when cooking so that’s not an issue for me personally.
A slight criticism would be that this is supposedly 4 portions but I put enough for two into it and it seems pretty full. We aren’t a particularly greedy couple either. If you are feeding a large family I would recommend a larger model.
I also want the snacking basket, which is sold separately. This rotates and allows you to cook delicate food which might otherwise be damaged by the central paddle. Make sure the basket you buy will fit your model as I’ve already been caught out there.
All in all I would say it’s a great buy, I’m very pleased I bought it, it has produced some delicious food with very little oil needed. If you use frozen chips you don’t need to add any oil at all, just throw them in and switch them on. It really could not be any easier!

This is our second Tefal the last one we replaced just about everything over the years we had it ,but decided it was time to treat ourselves to a new one as we do use it at least once a week. I do like the fact that you can buy spares for them . We added the lip from our old one as this doesn’t have one and I don’t like when things get stuck on the rim so now it’s perfect .

Makes my fries like McDonald’s fries!
The acti-fry is one of the best items I have bought for my kitchen. It really does do chips and my southern fried chicken perfect each and every time.

It is also very easy to clean; the inside is like a non stick pan, so it just needs a bit of water and a wipe down and you’re good to go. There’s no mess afterwards. The timer is also removable so you can detach it and keep it in your pocket while you do other things. You will need to turn it off manually, but that is no different to using a conventional fryer.

If you want to put bigger items inside, say a fillet of salmon, you can. Just remove the rotator inside the pan and you are good to go.

Once you get the knack of use, it’s great.
Very easy to store and clean however the blade needs manual cleaning as food stuff sticks. Has taken me several cooks to get the right sized chips as we like them. The flavouring is different to standard deep fried chips but chicken pieces cut to the right size and dipped in flour n egg is succulent and enjoyable. Good luck

Chips taste much better than made in the older model
So far I used it for chips only, that’s what we really use ActiFry 90% percent of the time really.
After first use we was amazed how nice chips taste. if you using programme and making just a small amount of chips 30 minutes will be a bit too long so you might want to adjust it.
It is fairly noisy, but not much noisier than the older models.
If you would load it full and have spices on your food I think there is a chance some of it will end up on your worktop as there is a gap between body of machine and a lid ( it didn’t happen to me yet even though I had it fully loaded of chips with spices.
Keep warm setting is good, but as you can imagine it does leave chips soggy, so it’s best to eat them straight away.
Alarm not really load, but I don’t really need it as you can hear than it stops
I find it much easier to wash than the old one. I do hand wash it and after cooking chips I leave it to soak while we eat and it’s all it needs. Bowl doesn’t need soaking at all it’s just for mixing hand.
It is fairly expensive but so far I am really pleased with it, hopefully it will last as long as my old one.

I bought this and but I was sceptical, as a chips lover I want to try an air fryer as a healthier option, but thought it was expensive product. This is fantastic, the speed at which it makes chips with very little oil is amazing and they come out perfect everytime. This not only has saved me money, time and is also very healthy, would highly recommend this. The only downside is that the machine takes up a lot of space on my worktop.

    Great gadge
I’d been searching for an actifry for a while. I’d been put off due to the price and size of them. Although it is bulky, it doesn’t look out of place in my kitchen. I bought it when it had 80 off which was a bonus. So far I’ve only made chips in there which I’ve done on quite a few occasions which have been beautiful. I will be trying some of the recipes that came with it soon. Well worth the price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWho needs an oven when you have one of these?
I have had several actifryers. This is not because of any fault with them, just because they are the single most used item in my kitchen. We hardly use my cooker! Easy to use. Cook much quicker than conventional methods. Chips are fantastic. And healthy! Often used several times in a day it’s no wonder this is my fourth one. (Over several years!) no complaints at all we just can’t live without it.
This is my first of this model. And my favourite. I like the large viewing window. It’s adjustable temperature is a great idea but I’ve only used it once. I really like the automatic turn off. And it’s big enough for the whole family.
Get one. You won’t regret it!

Ideal for so many meals I’d NEVER want to be WITHOUT mine I LOVE it. ONLY TEFAL ACTIFRY genius CAN DO IT.. I tried another make but wasn’t up to much.. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

    No Auto shut off!
This new version doesn’t have an auto-shut off. Whilst the timer is loud enough and can be taken with you, after the timer goes off the machine will carry on cooking, meaning the food can burn if left unattended. The paddle design seems much sturdier than the old model and clicks into place well. The filter is now plastic and easier to clean and lid fits better.
The lead however is now integrated into the machine meaning that it cannot be bought as a spare part if worn or broken, does mean that you don’t have to struggle to connect it.
Chicken drumsticks cooked well, chips work better cooked separately so that they don’t break up, making sure that they have been dried well before adding to the pan, so they crisp up.

This is an excellent device for making grease-free chips I don’t really use it for anything else. This takes about 20 minutes( not 35 as it says in the instructions).
It is very easy to keep clean. All in all a good buy.

    Perfect chips
What a game changer! We hadn’t had much success making chips in our oven – even frozen chips turned out a bit limp. However, this makes perfect, fluffy & crispy chips every time. It’s really not much bother to peel & chop a few tatties. Important to rinse them in water & dry them with kitchen towel for extra crispiness. But it still works fine without.
It makes 3 generous portions or maybe 4 standard portions.
Only negative is that we’re eating more chips now!! But they’re made with just a scant bit of oil so they’re not too unhealthy.
Looking forward to being a bit more adventurous

    Slightly less advanced than thought.
We picked this up when on offer, fortunately and was impressed when first unloading. We had already a basic Air Fryer yet were fed up with having to keep shaking the pan to avoid food sticking. That was the sole reason for buying this and after seeing it on offer we snapped it up.
The operation is still pretty basic with just an on or off function and a timer which can be removed. This is quite handy as we had originally thought that the timer would turn off the machine, it doesn’t.
For the function and operation I would’ve given just three stars however the flavour and lack of food sticking has pushed this to 4. My advice, if it is on offer then get it!

My tefal actifryer is amazing I love it. It makes beautiful chips, havent done much else in in yet but will be. It is very easy to clean and is handy that the timer can be removed if needed. The only complaint I have is that when it arrived the box was damaged (unfortunately I didnt see the delivery driver but if I had I would have queried it) thankfully the actifryer was not damaged.

    Excellent Air Frye
This is the second Tefal air fryer I have bought. The second one was an upgrade on the original model. Excellent chips, I usually use slightly more oil than in the instructions (approx 1.5 spoons) as I usually use the fryer to full capacity. (3 large portions) chips are light & crispy and golden on outside. I loved the original model I had but unfortunately I dropped something on it and was not sure that it was working correctly. The upgraded model was even better! I even bought one for my daughter who also uses it for potato wedges & vegetables etc. would certaily recommend over other air fryers.

This is the 3rd Actifry (always the original as well)I have had in 13 years and I still think they are fantastiuc, other people have complained about similar products (they don’t cook evenly or you have to turn/shake them) and I always say was it a Philips or another make by any chance and the answer is always yes, so my response is always buy a Tefal Actifry and you wont have those problems as the paddle moves the food continuously, problem solved

I’ve tried various other models of air fryer without a moving paddle and find food sticks, this is by far the best one.

It works OK. No crispy chips as yet but the ones that have been produced are acceptable although my husband says that they’re not proper chips as they’re not all covered in fat. This is my second Actifry Genius xl. I love them so have two. However the cooking App is rubbish. It doesn’t load the 300 and odd, 200 and odd. You have to get rod of the App each time. Then when you get the 300 odd recipes you can’t find the genius recipes that are programmed in without scrolling through 300 and odd patterns ! Useless.

Love the sleek design and smaller window of this model; the different preset programs are really handy and it’s great being able to alter the temperature and length of time. It’s easily cleaned with the pan lifting out and centre paddle lifting off the pan. For fresh roasties you can remove the paddle half way through cooking if the spuds are starting to break up.

Sausages are amazing cooked with this, because it constantly moves them around.

It’s a much safer option than using an oven for people with disabilities.

    A gadget you actually use!
This is the second Tefal air-fryer I’ve bought – only because I wore the first one out after 3 years…
They are not that easy to clean, as you have to try not to get them wet, and there are few parts you can put in a dishwasher. Saying that, you can clean the actual pan easily as it lifts out of the body of the fryer and you can wash this by hand.
The handle of the first one ended up disintegrating due to repeatedly being subject to hot temperatures, so I managed without the handle for a while, but the grease from regular use did build up and was not that easy to remove from some areas.
The new one is quieter than the first, and has a removable timer which is a handy improvement, but it still doesn’t switch itself off automatically, which is a shame as I think Tefal could achieve this without adding much to the cost.
Not a good thing if you’re doing ‘drunk food’
All in all though, it is a great appliance if you’re short of oven space, it does chips either frozen or fresh to perfection, or things like chicken strips, or you can use your imagination…

Had a few Actifry over the years. The last one broke after a few years, but these are handy to have in the kitchen as opposed to using the oven. Has an app with recipes which we haven’t tried yet so can’t comment on that. However for the rest of it it’s easy to use. Cleaning you have to keep on top of it, including the lid or it will gunk with oil residue.

I have held off from buying one of these for a long time, I didn’t think chips with little oil would taste or look like chips – they do! They’re lovely and things are so easy to cook in this. You set the timer, switch on and when the timer beeps your food is cooked. No watching over a hot chip pan, no turning, just walk away.

So far we’ve only cooked chips and sausages in this, but I know it will do much more. It really is worth every penny. It’s so easy to clean and to put back together, the whole cleaning and reassembling process takes a couple of minutes. I haven’t washed it in the dishwasher as it will take up space I need, but hand washing it is no hassle at all.

This should be big enough for a family of 4.

We have bought this fryer since it first came out in white. We love it because you can just throw some chips in with a tiny bit of oil or my daughters chicken nuggets. It is so easy and quick that’s why we love it. The plastic central peace that turns the food over comes out and the metal cooking pan also comes out for cleaning under the pan is a filter that also comes out for cleaning. This new black & green fryer is very well made and looks very stylish. The timer on this new one comes off and that is a great idea because you can use it for anything in the kitchen not just the fryer. We will keep bought this as long as they keep making it.

Having used the tefal for a couple of weeks now cooking mostly chicken, chips and pakora I have found the tefal is very good and so easy to clean. Just a couple of minor niggles if your doing chicken wings or legs and chips which I do alot it’s best to cook the chicken first and then give the bowl a quick wipe to remove the juice from the chicken then do your chips and add the chicken back in with around 5 minutes left on the chips cooking time to stop your chips becoming soggy. Also the stop alarm is hopeless very quiet if your not in the kitchen so I set an alarm on my Alexa. The outside of the tefal does get hot so need to be well ventalated. Over all it’s a very good fryer and very easy to use and clean.

    So versatile, not just chips!
The first dish I cooked was Oriental Beef; easy and quick. I’ve cooked chicken tikka (the ActiFry was the messiest with this), potatoes as chips, wedges and roast, all great. Also a dish with scallops chorizo and rice, and a risotto!

My reason for purchasing was to use my job/oven less as only two of us living at home now.

The Genius model has some pre set cooking times, thus far I’ve only used the chip one, when used for all 3 types of potato dish. It can cater for up to 8 covers, I’ve certainly not tested that volume.

It is easy to clean; I always clean the pan by hand and tend to soak it after use. The mixer always seems to need a soak and sometimes I clean in dishwasher.

It is quite a large object, but I’m sure it saves on energy in comparison with using hob/oven. And of course you can leave and do other things while it cooks.

There are plenty of recipes around, including more healthy eating.

My new best friend; enough said.

I’m still trying to make my mind up but I think I like it better than my old one, Breville. My old one turned around whilst cooking which is very important for me. I don’t want to have to shake it continually, the new one doesn’t tip up or spin round but it has a paddle that rotates moving the food with it and constantly turning over. You can remove this facility if you feel I it’s not needed.

It cooks the food well and doesn’t look as ugly in my kitchen as the Breville. There is a glass window to look at the food without interuppting the cooking. My favourite bit is the timer delay so I can go on school run and then programme it to start cooking at a certain time for a certain time!

It is however extremely noisy and gets messy so easily. Bits of food fly all over the place.

I think everyone looks for things in different areas in a health fryer. But I do think this one is great for size and I’m liking it so far.

This product has definitely enhanced our cooking habits. We are low carb eaters, and I have really enjoyed experimenting with various dishes like fried chicken, eggs in avocado, halloumi fries and various fried vegetables, as well as using it as a far less stressful and smoky way of cooking sausages.

The air fryer itself is neat, clean, fairly quiet and very easy to use. The fact that it still bleeps for a while after unplugging it is a little spooky, but otherwise not really an issue.

The one thing I would add to it is the ability to cook at a higher than 200 degree temp, but that’s not a huge issue, and otherwise for me, it is pretty much perfect.

Great Actifry saw this on ideal world and decided to treat myself as a Christmas present. I’ve had an earlier version of the Actifry but that one you had to turn off manually otherwise the paddle would keep going round. This one has nine pre programmed to use or you can set it up to cook yourself it’s got a keep warm function on it. If you use one of the pre program on it , it keeps it warm after it has finished cooking then after it’s cooked the Actifry stops automatically. I definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone well worth the money. Parts of it can be put into a dishwasher.

I was skeptic either to buy this or the Breville Halo+ I ended up buying this ActiFry for its versatility as it claims!

    Curry
First thing I tried to make curry in this and didn’t work well because you need to stir it yourself ( the paddle is not useful for liquid type meals )

    Yummy Chips!
I made some home made chips in this and it turned up very well and evenly cooked, you have to eat them straight after you take them out so you can enjoy the crispness ( it gets soft if you leave them for while until other things cooked ! )

    Roasted veggies
I also tried to roast some veggies in it ( mushrooms , carrots , peppers and aubergine ) it wotkrd well for all but the aubergines turned partially cooked so it needs more time than the the other veggies !

Fried chicken / roast chicken :
I usually buy the chicken skinless and marinade them with yogurt and spices then divide them in freezer bags for later use, so I took off some chicken breast off the freezer in the morning leave it to deforest until dinner , I put them on the ActiFry with half teaspoon of olive oil and let it cook for 25 min and it was nice and crispy although my husband wasn’t a fan of chicken breast but he liked it very much and asked me how did you do this!

    Cleaning:
The pan itself is easy to clean, but the paddle is quite tricky and bits of the food like chicken marinade sticks to it! But this is not a big deal for me!

    The bottom line:
I bought this because I thought I would be able to cook any type of meals on it but unfortunately it didn’t work well for curry but it is great for chips, veggies and chicke

I love this product. This is my fourth air fryer – I had the original family one which lasted a few years before the heating element went. I then bought a cheaper brand which didn’t last too long as the handle kept coming off, replaced it with another cheap brand which I recently accidently broke. We use it most days so I decided to go for the Tefal again. We are a family of 6 so went with the Genius XL. I find the size excellent. The paddle on this model is a different material to the one we used to have which was difficult to clean at times but this one seems much easier. I have used the app to make a couple of things with great results. I’m doing slimming world so I don’t use oil just the one Cal spray and find the results perfectly fine. It’s a big piece of equipment though and does take up room on the counter which is something to be conscious of. I am lucky that I have a shelf that it fits on when it’s not in use though to be honest it tends to be left out due to the frequency of use.

Golden Review Award: 161 From Our UsersExcellent and improved- a genuine good idea, made better.
I have always been a fan of the Actifry range. I bought the first model many years ago, and have used it every week since. This newer model is certainly smarter looking, with a bowl shaped cooking vessel, and it also has a range of cooking pre-sets.
The opening mechanism of the lid is certainly an improvement, as the latch sits at the front and incorporates the unlocking device and a cool area to grab and open and close the lid.
At first sight the lid does seem slightly less sturdy than the previous models, but in use it seems absolutely fine.
The noise level seems the same. It isn’t a quiet thing in use, but no noisier than a microwave or multi-cooker. The heating element is slightly more powerful in this model, and I certainly noticed that my chips were much crisper.
It will cook a huge batch of chips on almost no oil, which has always been a great feature. It will also cook many other things like chicken legs, sausages, and even stews. I make a goulash in mine regularly and it is always good.
The presets on this new machine are handy too. Just click the chef hat button and a set time will pop up. Just push the start button and away it goes. There are 10 preset menu items, and they are easy to use with the small menu book that comes with the Actifry.
Most of the parts go straight into the dishwasher for cleaning, apart from the base unit (which has the motor in it).
There is als a recipe app on Apple and Google, which is designed for the new Actifry, and this is a really good selection of new ideas to try out.
I suspect Tefal have been very pleased with the success of the Actifry, and I certainty can see this model being used every bit as much as my previous one was.
