Loved this Tefal Planch, easy to use and clean, BUT would of been so much better if half of the cooking area had been griddled, which would of prevented the sausages from rolling all over.

Received the tefal CB642840 to review.
I tried it with many different types of food, from salmon to chicken and it works really well. It doesn’t make any smoke, so its great to use even in the living room table, with fondue for example.
It’s very well made, looks and feels premium and expensive and it allows all the grease to go under the tray.
The power cable with the thermostat cames off, allowing to clean the cooking plate.
It’s very easy to clean, but specially when washing by hand, I feel it is too heavy and it should be possible to separate the top plate from the base.
Overall, great indoor grill and worth the price asked.

great for indoor cooking without no smokes

Obsessed with this indoor grill. It’s amazing and cooks everything so much faster. I’ve used it several times when I have my friends over for a dinner party nights and we all sit and cook around the table. Also really useful if you having a dinner party to use as an extra platform to cook. Love cooking steak and salmon on it but you can cook a variety of different foods. It’s non stick and easy to use. It has a good size drip tray that can be easily removed to clean but the whole thing is super easy to clean too!. Perfect also if your looking to cook healthier food!

Let me start by saying this is a steak-ortiented planch but can be used way beyond that. Over the last month, this has become our favourite cooking tool. We even put it on top of the hob to replace 2 hob heads as it ia really worth it.

We use this Tefal planch for frying and grilling meat, vegetables, and eggs. You can literally make a full English on this planch thanks to its width. It is solid, sturdy, with a quite reliable minimal stick surface. Stickiness is as low as Tefal premium pans, so if you had one of those then you know how reliable this one is.

We used this to grill vegetables, fry gnocchi, scramble eggs, cook steaks and chicken, and even to cook coprotein vegan meals such as quorn mince.

It has a convenient width, albeit I wished it had a higher height just to accommodate food more properly. Not an issue though.

The heat produced by the planch fluctuates from high to low temperatures. I have no control over the heat once it is going down, as there isn’t an option to keep a steady temperature for a long time. Not a major issue though as I always manage to cook everything properly.

The only real hussle of this planch is the cleaning process. It takes a bit of time since I cannot put the planch directly under water, so I end up using a wet sponge and soap to clean it dully and dry it, a bit time consuming.

Still I think considering the price this really deserves a 5 star. It does the job and can add to a healthy diet since it keeps oil usage to a minimum.

This is a great grill that doesn’t need oil to cook and cooks great.
It is really easy to use and you can cook different food on different temperatures at the same time.
The plancha grill is split into 2 zones, the zone with the thermo-spot is controlled by the temperature control switch and the booster zone is activated by the additional Booster button.
If the booster button is not activated, the whole plancha grill uses the temperature setting from the temperature control switch.
If the booster button is activated, the booster zone gets hotter that the other half. You can cook vegetables on low temperature on the thermo-spot zone and cook meat on high temperature on the booster zone.
When the plancha grill is cold enough to hold it – you can just leave it in the dishwasher and there is no need to spend time washing it by hand.
It is good to empty the juice tray before placing the plancha grill in the dishwasher.
    Recommend it.

Hopefully my review was Helpful for you

This Plancha Booster from Tefal is definitely not the smallest of kitchen devices but it can be very useful and practical in certain circumstances. There is a lot of space to cook several items at the same time – great for multi-member households or for gatherings with family or friends. It heats up quickly, however finding the right temperature settings takes a bit of guess-work. We’ve used it to make veggie burgers, to toast the burger buns and to make grilled tomatoes and they all turned out great. The coating is non stick and it is a bit tricky to use with oil (for some items that need it – eg veggie burgers or pancakes) – as the oil just slides down to the juice tray as soon as you pour it on. So far, the grill has been easy to clean as nothing got stuck to it (we haven’t put in the dishwasher).

Useful for cooking larger quantities at the same time

At the time of this review this Planch Booster is 79.99. So i was quite excited to use this to see how it compared to using a normal frying pan etc. now to start with it does take up quite a bit of surface area on the worktop, then when youve finished using it it is quite big to put away in the cupboard.
It is very easy to setup and use and i didnt have any issues trying to work it.
The first time using this was cooking 2 steaks, you can have the whole surface area as the same temperature or you can use the booster for the one side and make it hotter. m
The fat drawer underneath is a little awkward to get out and you do have to wiggle it a little bit. Also when you have finished using it just unplug the booster at the end and the whole unit can be put into the dishwasher as it is. Which is great if you have a dishwasher, if you havent its a little bulky.
The real question though, did it cook my steaks any better than my normal frying pan? im afraid not. It was a great novelty piece and i think if i had friends coming round it would be a great table piece (even though the wire isnt that long).
If you have the money for a un-necessary but cool kitchen item then this is for you, if not, carry on using a regular pan.

    cool kitchen gadge

A very thought trough indoor grill design from Tefal.
Very easy to use and so much fun, not just for kids. It’s ideal for a family gathering, to chat around the table while you make the dinner together. Making a normal dinner, more of an event.

It simply turns on and there’s a red signal when the grill is hot enough. The whole grill plate has a rim so the table won’t get messy, and the juice/fat just drips down in the hole to a small fat container (which is easy to remove and clean it). Another great feature is the booster on it. One side is called “booster zone”, for the meat or larger vegetable, so everything would be ready roughly in the same time. There’s enough space on it to feed 4 people in one go easily.

The best of it all, that the whole tray is removable and dishwasher safe, so there’s literally no mess around with dinner. I would advise for everyone not to use it with metal cutlery/crockery, just plastic/wood/silicone, to keep the coating on the grill long lasting.

Brilliant design and is everything and more what I was expecting. It’s not ideal for someone who’s always in a rush to make dinner, as you could cook the same dinner in the over quicker, but it’s for someone who have meal parties or for a family who wants dinner to be fun and wants to involve everyone.

This has been a boon to use for summer holiday dining with friends and family – especially with kids. The whole party chips in, we’ve used it for our outdoor al fresco dining and even indoors placed at the centre of the dining table.

We’ve tried mini Indian chicken burgers which are stuffed in a bread roll alongside onions and tomatoes grilled on the Plancha too; beef patties; and even rib eye and fillet steaks – which cook evenly and perfectly 2 and a half minutes each side to acheive medium rare.

We’ve found that the boost setting is better used only for thick, chunky cuts to help permeate that heat through, seal in the juices and crisp up the exterior.

On the bone cuts, such as chicken legs and wings take a bit longer. We use setting 3 and 4 for these, allowing that extra time to cook through to the bone to get that crucial 70C temp on the probe.

We’ve seared strawberries and raspberries on it too – caramalizing them and serving them up with homemade ice cream.

Grilled aubergines marinated in olive oil, salt, garlic and thyme is simple to prepare for a Parmigiana di Melanzane to be finished off in the oven later. I no longer have to hover around the grill to ensure the slices don’t char too much.

Cleanup is pretty straightforward too. All the nonstick cooking bits are dishwasher safe.
I prefer not to place non-stick in the dishwasher though, as it reduces the lifespan of cooking utensils and pans. So I handwash them with warm soapy water. As it’s non-stick it doesnt take any effort to clean anyway.
The drip tray that collects all the cooking juices is easy to clean too with soapy water, clean enough to be used next time.

I much prefer this to our ageing George Foreman grill as my meats stay tender, the totally horizontal plate means I don’t drain the lovely juices away such as with the George Foreman and i am able to cook a much wider range on this smooth flat plate with the very good even heat distribution. I get no hotspots, so I know that even delicate things such as Welsh cakes, crepes, bacon and eggs won’t char on one side and undercooked on the other.

It’s quickly become my not-so-secret weapon to an entertaining and communal cooking experience with friends and loved ones.

    5 stars

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a family, I see it a great privilege to test this brilliant tefal grill designed for indoor use mainly.
Although the box came broken which I am not happy with.

But its been fun for us as a family to have a meal together which we cook round the table and its absolutely nice.

I have used setting 4 for most of my cooking on this grill which has been absolutely lovely expecially for meat and vegetables.

Cleaning of this after cooking has been so easy, which is absolutely nice and lovely.

Above all from my experience I will say his is brilliant and absolutely lovely. I will surely recommend it for you.
Hope my review is helpful to you.

    Perfect for all family.

Quite a useful piece of equipment. What I like the most about this “grill” is that I can cook most of the food without oil, and it is big enough to cook food for the whole family at once. One thing I don’t like is that it is actually a pan, not a grill as stated. As it is advertised as a grill, I was expecting it to look like a grill, but it is plain – like a frying pan, which is a bit disappointing.
This pan is non-stick, after it cools down, you can just wipe everything out with a wet cloth. A really useful thing to have.

When this arrived I couldn’t wait to use it.
The instructions are really simple and it’s very easy to control the temperature with the turn button, the grill/hot plate has a boost button where one side of the grill/hot plate gets hotter, I personally haven’t used the boost button as I’m not a fan of rare meat but the hole plate can be used via the turn button.
I’ve literally cooked all sorts on it (full English breakfast, eggs, bagels, pork steaks, chicken skewers etc)
Heats up quickly and the fat runs down into the drain holes and into a tray that easy removed for cleaning.
I personally just wipe it down once it’s cooled down and it’s very easy.
    I absolutely love i

Indoor Tefal Plancha Booster: what a great innovation, this indoor plancha grill is a great way to cook by yourself or socially cook with others – “throwing another shrimp on the barbie” isn’t just confined to the outdoors anymore! 4 of us sat at the kitchen island and cooked our lunch of surf and turf and it was fun and easy with no one glued to the cooker.

Tefal is a trusted brand and this is sturdy and well made. The grill is a good size, about 20″ x 11″, and has a divider halfway across the width – each section provides an equal temp, however the booster significantly increases the heat on one side if required, it’s great for quick searing but really haven’t had to use it as the standard settings are good enough for most cooking requirements. The temperatures reduces from the middle out so as things cook you can move them to better control their progress and the edges will keep items warm.

I used it to griddle some pancakes and only required a very little oil to prevent sticking, but mostly you can cook without any oil at all. Excess oils or juices from food drains into the drip tray and can be easily dealt with when cold. The best bit is that the drip tray and cooking plate are easily removed for washing in the dishwasher. The plancha will cook any number of things, it’s quick and easy to use, produces very little smoke as fat is reduced. It’s a revelation, love it.

I had a longer review but it has disappereared.

OK, this can be used as a standard hotplate grill, but it’s also great for table-top use and is big enough to cook a lot of food at once. The plate section is both non-stick and safe to put into the dischwasher. The standard operating power is 2kW, but has a boost function to to 2.2kW to get that prime cut seared. Being a Tefal product, you know it will last the test of time.

Not had one of these before, but I am really pleased with it. We have used this indoors and outdoors on our kitchen area, which has an outside plug – it enables a greater cooking area than just our BBQ, so we used it for prawns whilst doing meat on the BBQ.

Inside it is good for steaks, sausages – anything really and it can be used at the table (although that requires an extension lead).

We couldn’t believe it went in the dishwasher, but it does – like all non stick it is easier to clean when it is hot rather than allowing it to cool down, but if you are dishwashing it then that isn’t necessarily easy.

Time will tell if this becomes a regular item in our kitchen, but I’m up for anything that saves my cooker top with fat spillage

Nicely made in black coated metal, with a detachable electrical unit, including thermostat, that allows you to put the rest of the plancha through the dishwasher without damage.
The grill surface is 50cm x 27cm, with a nicely curved raised lip and two drain holes on one of the long sides that lead to a removable fat plate, that simply pulls out of the side of the grill to clean. The (pretty basic) instructions suggest washing the surface and applying some oil before first use, but you don’t necessarily need any oil to cook with.
The grill surface is divided into two areas, both controlled by the thermostat, so you can have an even temperature across the grill, but one area has a ‘booster’ button that makes it much hotter and is intended for searing steaks etc. Yes, it does get very hot, but not actually used the boost in anger yet, as the even temp across the grill (on setting 5 out of 6) is perfect for salmon with nice crispy skin, along with peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, celery sticks and the like, nicely cooked and nicely browned. Once warmed up (around 5 minutes or so) I found the thermostat quite responsive, so you could easily turn it down to keep things warm.
On first use, a simple wipe with paper towel was enough to get it looking sparkly clean again.
Very pleased with this as another cooking option, and would definitely recommend.

After receiving this large grill I really thought I would be disappointed but quite the opposite.
I have already used it on 3 occasions and found that it really does a good job at frying -grilling-searing.
It is very easy to clean, mostly just wiping with damp kitchen towel. Taking to sink for more of a thorough clean is harder because of the weight, not off putting though.
Though spill tray catches most of the grease but I find it is awkward to put back, it takes steady hands.
I wouldn’t use this grill for multiple users for fear of getting burned. This grill gets hot especially when using the booster.
This isn’t ideal for a small kitchen or area and storing is a problem but it is a very good piece of kitchen ware and I recommend the taste of the food and how well it cooks through. Steak eggs and all breakfast food that you would use a frying pan for.
Great for larger amounts and very adjustable heat.
I like this very much. I wouldn’t think it would be good in a dishwasher though it says it can. Anyway It will come to good use in my home.
